Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 1/28/19 Capítulo 96 The Miami Connection--OR--A New Plot With a New Galán

Blanca runs into Susana and Sebas. Susana is so glad to see her back home. Dani needs her so much and Eugenio surely needs more support. Blanca's ears perk up. Why would Eugenio need more support?  Susana thinks and speaks quickly. There is so much to be done in the store and Pancho has had to be busy planning their wedding but now since it has been postponed his time will be freed up.   Blanca asks Susana if all is going well with Pancho. Susana says they are going so well that they are planning on living together. Blanca gets a kind of pained expression on her face. Susana continues that she will be coming to live at the apartment building with Pancho tomorrow. Sebas agrees.  Blanca says she will be happy to have them both in the building.

Guido and Luigi sit down to enjoy some 100% (unwatered down) pure mezcal.  Luigi asks if Guido is happy having gotten Gabriel out of the way and nobody suspecting anything. Guido wasn't planning on Gabriel dying the same day the triplets were born. Guido smiles saying it was so . . . Luigi finishes the the sentence with "tragic indeed." What plans does Guido have now?  Guido will be Nonno's only support so he will end up giving him everything.  The only problem is that now Nonno wants to leave everything to the triplets. Luigi asks about the possibility of getting rid of the triplets, too. Guido says no, not yet. They toast to each other's health.

Dani and Linda are talking about the triplets.  Dani is afraid of failing them and forgetting Gabriel and the wonderful father he is . . . was.  Lind says they will get to know Gabriel through her. As her babies fight to get better in the hospital, Dani can fight to be strong and ready to take them home.

MIAMI The "duendes"(goblins) are having a  birthday party!

Nonno appears on the scene and Luigi expresses his condolences to Nonno. Nonno remarks that Gabriel was  such a healthy and cheerful man.  Guido thinks that Nonno should be home resting and not at the distillery.  Guido assures him he can take care of it all. Nonno can't just stay at home feeling bad. He also wants the distillery that Gabriel worked so hard to build to keep growing. Guido tells Nonno to trust him and he can run the distillery and make it grow as they had planned in Gabriel's memory.  Nonno needs to get back and work to get his mind off of Gabriel.  Guido asks if he can do a relaunch of the mezcal as a tribute to Nonno's beloved Gabriel.  Nonno thanks Guido for always being there, giving him strength. Guido is a real lifesaver for him.

Polita is in Blanca's kitchen with her Tuppers. She runs into Imelda who tells her that the time has come for her to make her own food for herself and her children.  She goes on to say that the women today do not know how to do anything.   The are on their cell phones but do not tend to their husbands so that is why their husbands leave them.  Here is Polita wanting other people to make her food.  Polita tells her she has Blanca's permission to take a little food.  Polita doesn't have to account for that to Imelda.  Imelda says maybe not on the food but she will have to account to her for her rent. and for the way she is raising her children.   Arqui has been abandoned ever since Polita has decided to become Ari's pimp. Polita says she is not his "pimp".  She is his manager.  She doesn't have to account to Imelda on how she is raising her children since Imelda wants to take Arqui from her.  Imelda is adding such stress to the family at this time. Imelda says one thing has nothing to do with the other.  Imelda just wants Arqui to have a better life than the twisted one Ari has decided on.  Polita says she has Imelda's number since she married her son and has witnessed Imelda having him carry out her "holy will."  Polita has had it with her. She will never ever give up Arqui for anything in the world not even with Imelda blackmailing her and throwing her out on the street. She takes her Tuppers and leaves. Imelda calls after her asking for the rent.

Susana talks to Crisanta about her misgivings about Pancho.  She is afraid.  She wants to do everything out of her love for him. Crisanta says that her life will change but with love problems become more bearable. Susana is worried that the problems with her children will come back. She is also very uncomfortable moving into Pancho's apartment even though she has agreed to it. Crisanta says she cannot imagine having that granny Imelda as a neighbor. Susana says she doesn't want to fail being a mother to Pancho's children.  Crisanta asks isn't she dong this for the love of those children. Susana says yes. Crisanta's advice is to hold on to that love and it will work out and she will be saying "Mi marido tiene más familia"(My husband has more family)and that love grew and the family did, too.

Linda tells Dani that her father  is making  her favorite cake. It will give her strength.  Linda is not much of a cook but and make  her some mushroom soup, and a nice salad,  etc.  Dani asks her to go somewhere else first.

Casandra and Clarisa are at Dani's place wondering what is going to happen to all of Gabriel's personal property. Casandra wonders of they should take some of his stuff before Dani does. Clarisa says no because all of his property belongs to Dani and she will be the one who will decide what to do with it.  Casandra keeps thinking that they should have had an autopsy done.  Gabriel's death was very strange.

At the distillery, Guido is telling the workers that everything at the distillery will continue just like before even though Gabriel will no longer be with them. Nobody will find out about their little trick. Guido tells Sergio he wants to increase their production so they can sell even more mezcal in their restaurant in Miami.

Hugo, Diana and other school officials talk to the students about the "belching" incident that they all suffered through.  The kids are upset that it is appearing all over the social network and that they have been made fun of. Hugo sees it as an act of bullying or vandalism. They need to see if it was an inside job or one by some stranger.  If anyone knows anything, now is the time to say something. They need information.  Julio looks to be thinking long and hard.  This is serious and they have to think of the common good.  All the kids talk among themselves.

Eugenio is making another memory video with Dave acting as the camera man. Eugenio speaks about the family being like a cake. One ingredient needs the others and then you have the perfect mix. Dave asks why he is recording all this. Eugenio says it is to never forget the recipe for his unique and never imitated three chocolate cake.  Dave says he will never forget because he is the best baker in the world.  Dave almost forgot to tell Eugenio that his parents sent him thousands of hugs. He hugs Eugenio.

The kids start talking about their symptoms. Julio says he felt like he was going to throw up and it  felt like there were tons of ants crawling between his throat and his stomach.  Lupita felt a prickly sensation in her throat.  Sebas laughs and says it was funny even though it was serious because ti ended up sounding like a toad concert. Frida says they couldn't stop belching and her stomach hurt a lot. They all agree that whoever did it deserves a really bad punishment but they have no clue to who the culprit was.

Dani takes Linda to the playground that she was at with Gabriel. It was a special place for her and Gabriel to come to and talk about things. Dani says maybe this wasn't a good idea. Linda thinks differently. Maybe it could be the first park she takes her triplets so they can feel the essence of their father.

The kids go home for lunch. Aria and Temo discuss who could have caused the "belching" attack.  Temo asks if it could be any of the kids. Ari thinks that the plan was too elaborate for that. this was more like terrorism.  Temo thinks that Ari  is exagerating and it was more like a very bad joke. Ari thinks it was more than that and Temo finally agrees. They start laughing and joking around when Imelda comes out into the hall commenting that if they do not stop their immoral behavior, the next thing they will be doing is kissing each other. She has no tolerance for them.

Grecia is on her bike riding through Oaxaca. She stops at a stop light and has a flashback to an earlier time. She is sitting on a bed screaming and crying as she looks at her hand that it is covered in blood. As she is thinking of the past, the light changes and honking horns remind her it is time to move on.

MIAMI Suddenly we are at the beach. There is a man swimming and this three kids running around.  One boy is Santi, the other is Andi(wears glasses) and the older girl is Yolo.  The boys look to be about ten/eleven; Yolo  about fifteen. The man is in the water looking for a watch. The boys speak Spanish but the girl insists on speaking English. They think their father can do anything. The man finds the red watch and the boys are excited that it still works.  The man's name is Ernesto Reyes (Neto/Ernie). He calls his sons the "duendes" (goblins). They are twins.  Neto grabs Yolo, lifts her up and hugs her. She says in English that she is not his baby anymore. He tells her she will always be his baby and that he would do anything for all three of his children. They have a big family hug. They take a selfie on Yolo's phone. Neto plays some more with his kids.

Dani tells Linda that reading the letter from Robert and Julieta reminds her how close they are even if they aren't. Then there are others who are even closer but who will never come back. Linda says that those who never come back mark us forever. Dani says Linda has matured a lot and sounds just like their mother.

MIAMI Back at the beach, Neto tells the twins they will have to wait later for their gifts because the is going to go to the restaurant and get everything ready for the restaurant's third anniversary party.  He is happy his three kids are going to be there with him to celebrate tomorrow. Yolo asks if she really has to go.  Neto says yes, and she has to talk in Spanish. Neto explains how important it is for him that they be there with him.  She doesn't know if she can. It all depends on whether Meghan is having her party tomorrow. Neto addresses her as Yolotl (Nahuatl word  that means "heart") She wants to be called Yolo. He understands that she is divided between two cultures but they speak Spanish because they are Mexican. They should not lose their language.  Yolo insists she is not Mexican. She and the twins were born in the USA and are American.  Neto tries to explain that her family is from Mexico. They are her blood. Yolo insists that she doesn't even like anything Mexican She can only relate to the USA. The twins remind her that she likes tacos, guacamole, Xavi Galán and Thalía.  They laugh. She is annoyed. Neto tells her being Mexican is something to be proud of.  She is clearly not convinced.

Back in the hall way, Ari tells Imelda that the and Temo are not doing anything wrong.  They are together because they love each other. Imelda says they can love each other as friends. Loving each other as a couple is something else entirely. Ari grabs Temo's hand and tells her that they are novios.  Imelda cannot believe he would say something like that. Two men cannot be novios. Ari doesn't accept that. This is love. Imelda disagrees. Temo tells her that love is love.  Imelda says not for her.

MIAMI  Neto tells this kids more about the celebration at the restaurant. There will be delicious food. Yolo thinks it would be better to stay at home where they could have hot dogs, hamburgers and pizza.  He reminds her how important this is for him. He shows them his new business cards.  Should he be listed as Ernesto or Neto like their mother calls him. Santi and Andi answer in unison: NETO Rey. Yolo tells them they are corny. Neto asks Yolo to come with them again. Soon, the kids are swimming and playing with dolphins.

Crisanta pays Nonno a condolence visit at the office. She gives him a tearful hug and he kisses her on both cheeks.

Blanca runs into Pancho. He needs to give her a welcome home hug.  He could only greet her at the wake. The friends are happy to see each other. Blanca says seeing him is such a joy in the midst of the unhappiness in their family. She cries and they hug again.

Imelda talks to Eugenio about how he is doing.  He feels that he is doing well and  gives some credit to Susana.  Imelda says the important thing is that he feels motivated. Eugenio says everybody's Alzheimer's is different and all cases advance at a different rate. Imelda asks if he has told Blanca. He says he hasn't yet. As Blanca walks in with Dani and Linda, Blanca catches the last part of the conversations and asks what hasn't Eugenio told her yet.  Eugenio makes something up and turns the focus to Dani's favorite cake. He is sorry that he didn't make her all of the cakes she deserved from the time she was a little girl. Dani thanks him and the cake makes her smile.

Pancho and Susana are in the middle a pile of boxes at his place. She thanks him for helping her with the move. She cannot believe this will be the last night they will be separated. Everything is ready to start their new life together.  She is sitting on the couch and beckons him to join her. He sits on a chair next to the sofa and has a surprise when he sits on one of the kids' toys. She thinks it was Julio's, wasn't it?

Blanca helps Eugenio get all comfortable in bed and they talk about their days. As Blanca tells him how they have to be stronger than  ever for Dani and the family, he remembers Grecia telling him that he needs to tell Blanca about his illness.  Instead of doing that, Eugenio tells Blanca how much he missed her. They are about to kiss when the phone rings. Blanca is curious who would be calling at this hour. Eugenio explains it is Grecia. Blanca wants to know who she is. Eugenio says she is his new . . . therapist and she is calling to confirm an appointment. Blanca doesn't look like she is convinced.

Frida talks with Dani, Linda and Dave.  She asks Dani when the triplets are coming home. Dani tells her they are  getting stronger every day and are trying as hard as they can. Frida also says that she misses her Uncle Gabriel. She apologizes for bringing him up but Dani says that is okay because she misses him, too. They chat about Gabriel.  Dani says he made her the happiest woman in the world and he was the most special man she ever knew.  The kids hug her. Dani looks at her faded purple streak one more time.

The next morning at Blanca's when Dani appears for breakfast, her hair is all one color. The faded purple streak is gone. Her parents tell her how pretty she looks.Dave says she is the prettiest of them all. Linda says she looks like the same old Dani. Dani reminds them all that she started dying  her hair when she met Gabriel.

MIAMI Neto is busy organizing the restaurant celebration when Martín tells him that they have to push the new mezcal from Massimo the boss. Neto says no worries. They are there to celebrate the anniversary of the restaurant and his promotion to manager. Martín reminds him how Neto starting as a dishwasher and working his way up  has been an inspiration to them all.  Neto says now there is just the issue of his papers. His lawyer needs to finish his legalization process.  He has spent a lot of time and money and his papers are still not in order. The issue has to be resolved soon.

Well, Gabriel Soto has finally showed up. I like the twins but I don't like Yolo who seems to have the possibility of being a real brat.
This plot should liven things up a bit while the Coopers are in Africa, Dani is in mourning, and Audifaz and Imelda are stuck in their endless hatred.

Jarifa, thanks for this great recap. I fell asleep before the show started and did not have the DVR set up to record it, but I wasn't worried. I knew you would cover anything important. So I'm caught up without having to watch.     :-)

I'm worried for poor Neto, it looks like he could be caught in a bad situation. AND he has to deal with a 15 year old daughter? Oh, just shoot me!

:-)

Jarifa - a truly informative recap with all the important developments and exchanges captured.
Yolo is a piece of work. Her English accent does not seem to support her claim that she was born and raised in the USA. She definitely looks like trouble for Neto and anyone else who comes in contact with her. But then again she is15! Neto seems to have a pleasant personality and appears to be a positive role model for the kids. The boys seem to be fraternal twins. I cannot tell why Neto has custody of the children unless he is eithe divorced or his wife is dead. The most unsettling news so far is that he is in a business relationship with ‘Massimo’ which means he will get sucked into the Evil Empire and the psycopath. Chilling that the issue of getting rid of the triplets (!!!) was even mentioned ‘but not for now’.
Viewerville was not disappointed with Ernesto’s first appearance in the water and on the beach!
A little late for Gabriel’s sister to have wondered if they should have had an autopsy. The answer is an obvious yes since Gabe was young and healthy. Danni is also wondering if there should not be a fuller explanation of how his heart gave out so quickly.
Thanks again for this important episode.

Superb Jarifa.

Excellent title and the recap was warm and wonderful (as always). What a flair for writing you have!

"Blanca gets a kind of pained expression on her face" and "Polita is in Blanca's kitchen with her Tuppers" made me smile.

Pancho and Blanca. “Blanca says seeing him is such a joy in the midst of the unhappiness in their family” – my favorite moment of the night. What dear friends these two have become. A joy to watch.

“Guido is a real lifesaver for him”. And a murderer for others.

“Nonno remarks that Gabriel was such a healthy and cheerful man”. Yes, yes, he was. “Healthy” being the operative word here! “Casandra keeps thinking that they should have had an autopsy done. Gabriel's death was very strange”. Yes, yes. Huge sigh.

“Arqui has been abandoned ever since Polita has decided to become Ari's pimp”. Where IS that duct tape???

Yolo seems a bit spoiled but spunky. I really like Gabe Soto but a few of the roles he's played has had some comment he seems a bit wooden (and in Vino even I couldn't disput that). But he smiled quite a bit last night and that is a good omen. He seems happy which I am sure will change momentarily....

I love that Eugenio is being filmed doing the things he loves. That chocolate cake had me salivating.

Perhaps I am alone, but I was so sad to see Dani's lovely lavender hair go! Back to mousy brown? That is not at all who she became, who she is. Strong spirit and feisty. She must fight to keep her identity and her heart.

I will not even consider the remote possibility Guido will touch a hair on the triplet's heads. But I want this insidious monster to be unmasked quickly.

"Audifaz and Imelda are stuck in their endless hatred" could not have been stated better Jarifa. I with both characters would just slink away.

Just loved this Jarifa. Thank you so much.

Diana

Thanks, everyone, for your kind comments.

Andy, glad the recap could fill you in. 😊

Anon, I have a hard time with ages. I guessed Yolo was 15. Today I am thinking maybe she is more like 16, 17? I guess time will tell. Sure is late for everyone to regret there was no autopsy.

Diana, I have never seen Gabriel Soto in anything but he is a cutie. Your call for the “duct tape” was the best!

Time to put on the café. 🌬⛄️

Jarifa, you are in for a treat! I have really enjoyed Gabe in everything from Querida Enemiga (I think the first TN I watched start to finish) and one of my absolute favs, La Verdad Occulta (which also had Yanez so I was in heaven). And he proved his acting chops (to me at least) in the riveting but sad Caer en tentación.

My house is without a few staples now but never, ever out of duct tape. Sadly, it must not be a staple in Imelda's house :)

Diana

Diana, yes I now remember him from Caer en tentación. I had totally forgotten about that one. it was and he was really good.

Thanks, Jarifa.

I am glad that we have some new people to focus on. I liked the day at the beach. I love the beach. Gabe Soto is not a favorite of mine, but I am happy to have a new, less grim (hopefully) storyline.

Started lightly snowing here this morning. Temperatures will plummet tomorrow . #Ihatewinter

Ah the "Miami Connection". Well, glad that we are going to have some bodacious eye candy to make up for the troubling path this novela is taking. I'm beginning to feel sorry for the actress playing Imelda. She is having to mouth such ugly lines. I know a lot of actors enjoy playing villains, but I just can't believe that she's enjoying this much right now.And we're certainly not!

Thanks Jarifa. You always come through.

Susanlynn, our temps have already plummeted and the wind is absolutely vicious. Light snow off and on. Really challenging. Admire the people who are still out faithfully walking their dogs. #trueloveforsure

Susanlynn and JudyB, I sure enjoyed the beach scenes, too. It is time to get out and about today because I know I will be stuck home the next two days with these temps. It is sunny here but noticeably colder because of the wind.

"bodacious eye candy" - love it, perfect Judy!!

I'm afraid it is going to be bitter cold and icy for most of us. Snow is a bit scary but ice is terrifying. Fear of crashing and even falling - very scary.

Stay safe everyone, please....

Diana

Ot...Diana and judyb...yes, it has been snowing steadily since this morning and 30 degrees. I am looking out the sliding door at my deck . I will be hibernating for awhile . Local schools have snow days. last forecast I heard was for 2 to 4 inches , but What worries me is the prediction for zero degrees tomorrow night....which means icy roads and surfaces. We have not had extreme cold like this winter in awhile.

Susanlynn, I would rather have pure snow and let the sun melt it. My work parking lot was virtually a skating rink two weeks ago and I am afraid it will be the same way tomorrow or Thursday. The weather is so dreary, I can't remember one bad forecast from the next! :)

Diana

Ot...Diana , you should get those grips that you attach to your shoes\boots if you have to navigate on icy surfaces. I do not have them , but they used to be on QVC. Be careful out there. Still snowing here and the roads are getting covered.

Jarifa, thank you for all your hard work on the recap for Friday and Monday. Sorry I haven’t been around, I hurt my arm somehow and typing was difficult. I am better now. I always love your titles, this one with “the Miami connection.”

I am wondering if Gabe Soto’s character is going to be related to either the Musi family or Pancho’s family, or somehow a long lost cousin of the Córsegas. He made it clear he is Mexican though and not Italian like the Musi clan is. I like Gabriel Soto as an actor, I know he was in Caer en Tentacion, which I did not watch and Vino el Amor, which I did watch. In Vino, he starred with Irina Baeva. He was married, but he left his wife for Irina last year. He is 17 years older than Irina. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how “Neto” ends up in Oaxaca from Miami. His daughter is not going to be pleased because she does not consider herself “Mexican.”

I hope Dani doesn’t let Guido get anywhere near her babies. It was really nice on (was it Friday’s episode?) where she finally got to hold them. They must do things different in Mexico with the NICU babies. My experience is that parents are allowed in NICU to hold and touch their premie babies because the babies thrive and survive much better.

As for Imelda, I so wanted to slap her! Would someone please put a sock in that woman’s mouth? She and Audifáz are just so mean and nasty! She has a lot of nerve asking Polita for “rent.” If something bad happens to her at the end, she will have deserved it, unless she changes her ways. Last season, she had that heart attack at the end. I’m thinking now she is due for another, LOL!

Do any of us here think that Susana moving into Pancho’s apartment won’t be a good thing? It’s too many kids and not enough space. Everyone will be too close for comfort.

I liked Daniela’s hair!

So everyone in the Midwest and Northeast, stay warm. My son in Ohio told me it was going to be -21 with windchill and that school will be cancelled. He is a high school teacher.

Cynthia, glad to hear your arm is better. With me it is always something these day. We are down to -22 tonight and -26 tomorrow with a high of -17 tomorrow. Windchills -50 to -60. I know what your poor son is dealing with.

Yes, put a sock in Imelda’s mouth! She and Audi make me want to fast forward,

Jarifa, I forget what state you are in. Please refresh my memory. I almost feel guilty living in the Los Angeles area while all of you are suffering through the cold. We will be getting rain on Thursday or Friday and it's supposed to last all weekend. But that is not nearly as bad as you all in the northeast and midwest.

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa.

Between the Imelda hater scenes and the continuing grief scenes with Dani, I was able to FFWD thru a lot of this.

Soto's beach scenes were hunkalicious. Very easy on the eyes. More swimming scenes, please. LOL

I wish the show would do something with Linda's hair. 😜

It will be interesting to see if Pancho and Susana ever get married. With the the marriage ceremony delays, maybe Neto/Ernie will sweep her off her feet.

Well, maybe Dani will end up with Neto? Change of hair means change is a character's life..#telenovelarules

Argh,.....autocorrect..... change IN a ...

Cynthia, I am in Chicago area.❄️😊❄️

Doris, it will be interesting seeing the romantic dynamic Neto(I always want to call him Ernie) brings to the story. He is not here for nothing.

doris and Jarifa, I would love to see Neto and Dani! Hey, I remember 8 is enough and the Brady Bunch, etc.

I'm thinking though he is here for Grecia. Poor Gabi isn't cold in the grave, nor I'm not sure he is really even IN the grave. Yet. Still, it would be nice to see Dani settled again and in love. She is far too young to be alone. If she so chooses.

Diana

Diana, it would seem so since Grecia is unattached. Unless Susana splits from Pancho, as doris suggested as a possibility. I wonder what Grecia's secret is, though, since she had that flash back. More mysteries are a good thing right now!

Ot...wow, judyb...I had no idea that your temperatures go so much Lower than ours. I thought our zero prediction for tomorrow night was bad, but your temps are way below zero. One word...layers .

ot..Kirby, yes, many people around here seem to get some bug that just Will not let them go as was Judyb's case and my one year old grandgirl.

The good thing about Gabe being buried vs cremated is that they could exhume the body for an autopsy. It happens on TV shows and books, so it must be real, right? Yet Guido used an untraceable poison, so what could that be?

Doris: They haven't buried Gabriel yet ?

Jarifa: I'm interested to know what's Neto's angle in all of this ? Is he a Good Guy or Antagonist EVIL person ?

Doris, I thought Gabriel had been cremated. Am I wrong here? I thought I saw Daniela with his cremated remains in a wooden box.

Cynthia, you are right. Gabriel was cremated.

I thought he was buried because of the open casket at the funeral. Oops,,, my bad.
