Well, Fabrizio wasn’t playing a trick on Andrea last episode. He hit his head when he fell from the raft. She saved his life.
We see an odd dream of Fabrizio’s twice. He is a child of around 5 and enters a bedroom. Andrea is there. In the bed are Dolores and some man, perhaps the same one we saw several episodes ago when Fabri was under the bed and Dolores brought a man home.
Andrea kisses Fabri and the two of them go to bed. He apparently can’t perform. He’s totally bummed about it, saying it’s the first time it’s ever happened to him.
Martina and Camila talk outside at some restaurant. Camila confesses she has a lover, but she also says that she really loves Peter. Camila says something to the effect that she’s past 40 and realizes that time is passing. She doesn’t want to let an opportunity pass. This seems to cause Martina to think.
Martina is thinking about Fabri, and Jorge realizes something is off about her.
Poncho and Fabri are talking about the risks he’s taking when Dolores arrives. She tells Poncho she needs to talk with Fabri. And she tells him that Camila leaves her laptop around with emails to him. His eyes widen. She says she’ll erase the emails, but we see later that she puts something from Camila’s computer on a thumb drive, probably the emails. Before Dolores leaves Fabri, he gives her part of the money he owes her.
Martina and Andrea come to the little store specializing in coffee and other gifts. Fabrizio is there and, after Andrea leaves, he wants to be sure Martina hasn’t said anything about what happened between them. She replies that nothing did happen. As she leaves, Eliseo is looking on.
The next day is the Fiesta of the Virgen del Carmen. And Martina is preparing. Jorge is definitely suspicious, and tries to look at her phone. When she catches him he said he was looking in her purse for his sunglasses.
Gilardo grabs Maricarmen – Andrea’s friend – by the arm and tries to get her to tell him who Andrea is seeing.
Andrea comes to Fabri’s casita. They are on the balcony when her phone rings. We see that it’s Gilardo, who calls every night and doesn’t say anything. Inside Fabri tells Andrea that she’s used to getting her own way. Then we see the outside of the casita. I’m not sure if they have sex or not. But they are in bed. Andrea tells him she wants to take him somewhere special. It’s a tower that used to be her grandfather’s. They make love.
Andrea comes home from the tower, enters her parents’ bedroom and tells them her passion is photography. And she’s not going to work in the coffee cultivation any more. She then goes into her bedroom and Creepy Gilardo follows her in. He grabs her, puts his hand over her mouth and starts nuzzling her neck. She knees him where it hurts the most and tells him he disgusts her.
At the Fiesta Andrea grabs Maricarmen and introduces her to Poncho.
The fiesta looks like fun except for all the suspicious looks going around from one character to another. The kids orchestra plays – badly. And Gilardo tells Jorge that Fabrizio is hiding something, probably something to do with a married woman. [I don’t think he really knows anything about Martina, but just wants to stick it to Fabri.]
Novelera: My thoughts on last night's episode:
1.) Fabri is a sex addict.
2.) Not shocked he knocked up Andrea. I wonder how Camila will handle this ?
3.) Jorge getting very suspicious of Martina's extra curricular activities.... how long before we see Fabri sleeping with Martina too ?
4.) Gilardo the Perv is going to escalate things to deadly methods.
5.) I wonder how long before Peter figures out Camila is cheating on him with Fabri ?
6.) I wonder what happened to Andrea's best friend ?
thanks so much novelera!
there are so many little nuances here, the looks, gestures, conversations, and they jump so quickly from one to the other, I miss a lot.
like the book Fabri got for Martina, that Andrea took and read, wasn't the quote she read about grabbing the pleasure/experience without the emotional attachment, or something...
and his dream that Fabri tells Andrea about, I think he has had it before, but this time Andrea stepped into it and took it over, what?
Andrea takes what she wants, (loved how her mother gave her a wink after she told her dad she is out of the coffee business), Camila takes no prisoners, and fragile Martina is reaching out...
Fabri is definitely playing with fire and once again they mention the curse, he can have all the women he wants but if he should fall for one, Poncho gives us the hand across the throat, slit...
Thanks, deb. I'm enjoying the mini-novela a lot. That Jason Day (Fabrizio) is incredibly sexy. Because I'm not a native speaker, I can't tell by his accent that he's Peruvian, but he is. He's portraying a Mexican national living in Colombia. Probably my co-workers from Mexico could spot the pretend accent. I can't.
I noticed Laura Perico's character, Andrea, making fun of something I never knew was a mexicanismo. IIRC she teased both Fabri and Poncho for saying al rato to mean later. This must not be used in Colombia.
Steve, I don't think Fabrizio is a sex addict. It's more like narcissistic personality disorder. He craves conquering the women, getting them to fall in love with him. The sex is just a pleasant part of the aspect of conquering someone.
I remember a sort of scary foreshadowing and I can't remember which character said it. The gist of it was that, when crossed, Peter could be quite dangerous. We kind of saw that already when he shot the two would-be robber/rapists.
From IMBD:
In Jason's spare time he is a humanitarian activist and the Director of Centro para la Acción Ciudadana, a Peruvian-based non-profit which catalyzes efforts to achieve greater equality and reduce violence in the Peruvian society, as well as the two-time director of Eve Ensler's One Billion Rising campaign to end violence against women and girls in Peru. He also writes a weekly opinion column at La República newspaper. He speaks fluent Spanish and perfect English without an accent.
Novelera: The fact is that Fabri is playing with FIRE by sleeping with Camila & Andrea (I'm surprised neither are PREGGERS.... yet). Pretty soon, we're likely to see him knocking up Martina soon.
I hope whoever Fabri's friends are, they need to tell him to be CAREFUL because if he keeps doing this, it's RIP Fabrizio.
Deb: Big question is which one husband finds out Fabri is sleeping with their women first ?
A.) Peter
B.) Jorge: he's got the Psychopath gene.
Novelera and Deb, thanks for Monday.
So painful last night to watch Martina get rejected by Fabrizio, who seems genuine about Andrea.
Gilardo is such slime showing the video of Fabric and Martina to Jorge and lying about them hooking up. What a fool Jorge is to buy everything Gilardo is selling.
