Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 3/4/19 Capítulo 119 The Mysterious Stench--OR--Guido Falling in Love

Pancho wants to get organized at home with Susana so that work can stay at work and they can have time for themselves.  He has a bulletin board all set and divided in two. They can split up their responsibilities.  Suddenly, all the kids appear wanting help with their homework and attention.

Linda and Yolo get into it. Linda calls  Yolo hateful. Yolo calls Linda pretentious and out of style. Linda gets up and Dani has to hold her back. The twins hold Yolo back. Yolo looks at her cellphone and decides she has to get out of there. They are all left staring.

Pancho has a board and is putting up stickies as he and Susana divide up the chores.   The kids come in  and want to know what they are going to do next.  Pancho suggests a movie. The boys want a horror movie; Susana a cartoon or comedy She is overruled because Pancho wants a horror movie, too. Susana says okay but if it is too scary, they will have to stop it.

Grecia gets another heavy breather mystery call.  Who is it? She is worried.

Neto remarks that it looks like it will be harder to get their families together than they might have thought.  Neto will do his best. Blanca thinks it would be best not to force anything. Eugenio says they have always been a loving family and some day they will come to love each other. Silence.

Guido meets with an upset Yolo. He got her message and want to know what happened.  She explains about her father being a Córcega. She didn't want a new family or life  and does not want to spend time with them. Guido gets it. She wants out of Oaxaca and to go back to the USA. He grabs her hand and tells her to breathe to help her calm down.  He tells her that if she never came to Oaxaca they never would have met.  She agrees but she hates everyone else. Guido will make sure that her stay is pleasant. She will be okay with him. She smiles and they hug.

The horror movie is on and the Sebas is  loving it more that Lupita and Julio.  Susana is still not okay with the kids watching it. Pancho says with the little clown in it, it is more like a comedy than a horror movie. The important thing is that their kids are getting along great.

Eugenio tells Blanca that the Neto situation must be difficult for her.  She admits it is complicated but she is his wife and will be  whatever he needs. He loves her. She knows he was a victim of circumstances. Blanca is nervous about her talk to her fans tomorrow. Eugenio sees no problem because she is like a light and that is contagious.

Neto tries calling Yolo. She is not answering. He and the twins are in the middle of moving into Pancho's old apartment. There is a knock on the door. It is Grecia. She preferred to come in person.

Yolo is still with Guido and is explaining how she doesn't want to go home. Guido advises her to send her father a message.  She belligerently agrees and texts Neto that she is fine but needs time. Guido asks what she wants to do now. Guido suggests that they find a hotel for her to spend the night. He will pay for it and she will not have to worry.  He is going to take care of her. They join hands, she smiles and they are off together.

At the gig, Rufo is using Temo as a gofer. The party has turned out to be bad news for Ari and Temo. The client is Zack the main bully at school who has made their lives miserable. Ari tells Zack he didn't know that this gig was for his party. Zack says he is paying for it so he is expecting a good show with nothing "weird".  The rest of his bully buddies are there, too. Ari tells Rufo what the story is with Zack and his buddies. Rufo couldn't care less and tells him to make it great because he is transmitting his performance on the social networks to get him more business.

Imelda tells Tulio she is so upset about Neto and Eugenio that she feels like her heart is going to jump out of her chest. Tulio tells her she needs to calm down because of her weak heart. Imelda cannot calm down because she is sure that  God is punishing her. Tulio reminds her that they did what they thought was right. She is also worried about the family's reaction to them taking custody of Arqui. Tulio tells her not to worry but they have to be sure nobody finds out  that he paid off the judge and that includes Audifaz as well as Polita.

Polita asks Eduardo the lawyer what else she can do to get Arqui back. He says unfortunately everything suddenly got more complicated with the fraud charges.  She asks what happened to her "Writ of Amparo."  Eduardo  says it is being processed but has not come through yet because of the new lawsuits. Polita just cannot take it. There is a knock at the door. The police have a warrant for her arrest.

Ari's entertainment starts at the a party.  Ari is stating off with a song that is very special for him and invites "his person" who wrote it with him (Temo) to come up on the stage.  Zack gets upset and says his birthday party is not a showcase for any of Ari's "strange" stuff. The guests agree and start shouting and shrieking  at Ari and Temo. Next, they  pelt them with food.

The kids are still watching the movie. Lupita and Julio hate the movie. Julio is very afraid and wants to turn it off.  Just as they notice something is stinking, Susana and Pancho come in and  notice the same thing. They all check the bottom of their shoes.

Dani is in the bakery checking on her triplets on the phone when she physically bumps into Dr. Carlos. Dani asks what he is doing at her home. Carlita the shop girl explains that Dani is the daughter of the owners of the bakery. Carlos says "she" (Dani) is--OR--"it " (the bakery) is very pretty. (it is ambiguous) He quickly clarifies his comment saying he was talking about the bakery.  He wanted to buy some fresh bread and everyone recommended this bakery.

Neto tells Grecia how worried he is about Yolo. He hopes she comes home. Grecia explains she is rebelling like all teenagers do and that he needs to give her a littler space and time. He had hoped Yolo would feel better with him getting this new apartment.  Grecia recognizes that he is doing his part and the whole new relationship with the Córcega's has him tense. He is disappointed that Yolo already had an argument with his half sister. Grecia reaches for his hand assuring  him it will all get better.  He hopes so. She says it will because he is strong and she calls him a "fortachón"  (nickname: strong man/he-man, hunk)) she has had the privilege of knowing admiring and she cannot deny loving.

Guido takes Yolo to her hotel room. She thinks it is wonderful.  Guido assures her she can safely spend the night here in a pretty place.  Yolo is happy she will be able to sleep in peace without anybody bothering her. She doesn't know how to thank him. Guido tells her there is no need for that. She moves closer to him. He is going to leave but she wants him to stay with her. She  kisses him on the lips.

Ari argues with Zack and his guests. Zack tells him he warned him so now he and Temo need to leave or he will throw them out.  The whole crowd chants in unison for them to go.

The policeman informs Polita  that the juice drinks were contaminated which was proven by lab tests. That is far worse than a fraud charge. Eduardo tells her he will do everything he can as she sobs and says she was just trying to help her family.  Polita is arrested.

Tulio insists that Arqui will be better off with them. Imelda agrees that paying off the judge was the only way to go. She only wants Arqui to grow up well and not stray fro the path like his brother. Tulio reminds her they have another thing to talk about. Tulio  asks Imelda what do they want to do about Ernesto Rey.

Arqui is playing at a fountain at Audi's church. Aura says he is so precious with those great eyes.  Audi says he got those from his mother. Aura wants to know if he has thought about things more. Audi says he feels very guilty and cannot  thinking about "his" Polita and how she is suffering or about his son Ari who had taken the wrong path and s now a homosexual.  He asks Aura what can he do to accept that.

The kiss ends. Yolo tells Guido it was nice. He is glad to hear that because he loved it. Yolo and Guido talk about how they feel about each other. He thinks it is best to be friends. She reminds him "you only live once" and grabs his hands. You have to go with the flow. She feels good and protected when she is with him. She has never felt like that. Will he stay with her? He agrees to but only to watch her sleep. They hug each other.

Neto is still with to Grecia saying that whenever there is something important,  She is the first one he wants to tell.  Neto needs to go find Yolo. He is worried about her trying to go back to the USA. Grecia tries to calm him saying that Yolo would need money or somebody else to help her. Neto decides to go looking on the street and Grecia decides to accompany him.

Dani sits with Dr. Carlos  and gives him the background on he family and the bakery.  She asks about his family. Carlos never knew his father. He had a single mother who did find love again with a very good man that he considers as his father.  They live in Mexico City.  As a matter fo fact they do scientific research at a university.  Dani suggests that as the reason for Carlos becoming a doctor. He thinks that might have had a part in it but he thinks  the most likely reason was that he lost a nephew  because a doctor didn't diagnose him properly. That is why he is a pediatrician. He has always loved children.

Everyone has descended on Sebas's room looking for the source of the stench.  They all run out.  Susana and Pancho talk about what to do. Pancho knows it is his job to go in. Pancho thinks there must be some rotten food under the bed. He enters the room holding his breath.

Rufo is waiting for Ari and Temo as they leave the party. He informs them that their performance was also a failure on the social networks. It ended up being a joke. Nobody will want to hire him now.  Rufo says he warned him about the "gay thing".  Ari didn't have to invite Temo to come along. Ari is angry that Rufo is dragging Temo into it.  He and Temo did nothing wrong. Rufo informs them that a lot of people don't agree with their lifestyle. Ari argues that a lot of people do support them. Rufo asks really?? He doesn't see any of them anywhere. They are not buying his music. He will never have a career in music. Ari gets a call. Polita tells him she has been arrested and is about to be jailed.

Yolo who has fallen asleep fully dressed all by herself on the bed wakes up.  Guido has been sitting on the sofa watching her. She says they will never get to know each other with him sitting all the way over there. Guido doesn't want to make her uncomfortable. She tells him to come sit next to her. They are only going to talk. Guido sits next to her on the bed. He asks her if she could go back to her life before what would she change? what did she need the most? Yolo admits that she would want to see her mother again. Guido asks if she has any idea of where her mother could be. Yolo says no.  Her mother didn't even leave a phone number. She doesn't even know what country she is in. Yolo shows Guido photos of her and her mom. Guido says she looks a lot llike her mother and calls Yolo "Blu" . He explains it is Italian for blue because of her beautiful blue eyes. (trivia: the actress's first name is Azul/Blue)

Grecia and Neto are searching the streets with no success in finding Yolo. His phone battery is almost dead. He is worried she is on her way to Miami. She is capable fo anything. He is so afraid.  Grecia understand how he feels.  He is worried that  Yolo is all alone,.She doesn't know anybody. She has no friends.   Neto thinks it will be his fault if something happens to her.  Maybe it was too soon to introduce her to his "new" family.

Eugenio is sitting up thinking about his children. Blanca goes over to talk to him. They talk about Neto being a good man. They hope it all works out with Neto and his family and theirs. Eugenio tells Blanca she is easy to love. He is doing his memory exercises every night going over all of his family's names and faces. Blanca says she will help him remember everything. She loves him. Eugenio reminds "his" Blanca that she has been the love of his life.

Dani asks if the doctor likes living in Oaxaca. He does but doesn't have many friends yet. He asks Dani what she does with her free time. She says not much beyond caring for the triplets. As a matter of fact, she needs to go check on them.  They give each other a perfunctory kiss on the cheek as they say goodbye. Carlos leaves  as Linda is coming in wondering who he is. Dani introduces them. After he is gone, Linda wonders who he is exactly. Dani says he is the kids' doctor.  Linda is surprised because she thought their doctor was some little old man.  She is impressed and teases Dani saying that her nieces and nephew are in "good hands". All Dani can say is "Linda!"

Ari and Temo arrive a the police station. Ari talks to Eduardo the lawyer who tells Ari that her "Writ of Amparo" has not been processed yet.  Because of the charges, Eduardo says they can expect the bail to be high.  Temo offers to talk to his father and assures Ari they will figure it out.  The most important thing for his mother is to be at home. Ari thanks Temo. Ari shouts that he wants to see his mother. Both in tears, Polita is only worried for Ari and he for her. They agree that they have to be strong.

Aura tells Audi say that even though God didn't mean for a man to be with a man, everyone has the capacity to love. Audi doesn't understand that. He has a conflict:  how can he accept something that goes against the Word of God?  It is a sin. Aura tells him we are not to judge. She asks him if he is free of sin. He confesses about Yolotl and having had sex with a woman who was older than he. She asks if he has repented. Yes, he did because he hurt his family and himself. She asks if he remembers what Christ said.  He recites"Whoever is without sin, cast the first stone." She goes on to say that just because his son is not the "norm" doesn't mean that he should treat him badly. He should respect his son and his life.

Pancho catches Susana working at home on some office work. He owes her a fine . . . of kisses!  When she pushes him away after a few kisses and mentions having doubts he tells her he hasn't had a chance to schedule his vasectomy, to get his "cables cut" so to speak. Susana tells him that is very important to get scheduled but she  wasn't talking about that. Susana asks what could have smelled so badly in that room. Pancho found absolutely nothing. He did notice that the smell left when the kids did  and wonders if one if them is having  "food processing" problems as he beats on his belly. Susana looks vaguely disgusted as she starts to think about what he is saying.

Neto is still out on the streets with with Grecia.  There is no sign of Yolo.  The twins call to see if there is news. He tries to be upbeat and tells them they won't be like their mother. She will be back.

Yolo and Guido are both lying apart on the bed fully clothed and holding hands.  Guido thinks back on Tavo asking who he loves most in the world. he answered Nonno because he is the only one who worries about his well being.  Tavo then asked if he was involved with anyone romantically.  Guido mentioned a girl he just met who is making him feel something he has never felt before. Guido turns towards Yolo and watches her sleep.

Hugo is at the supper table with Catalina and Tavo but with no appetite for the hotdogs his mother prepared especially for him.  Tavo says they can talk about Hugo's problem not like psychologist and patient but like friends. Hugo is happy he didn't say like father and son. Tavo makes a point that he is not there to take his father's place. His relationship is with Catalina. He hopes that he and Hugo can form their own relationship. Hugo asks Tavo to at least go back to his own place. That is not going to happen. Before any of this happened, Catalina announces that she and Tavo had decided to live together.

Ari has awakened the whole Córcega household. He is hysterical as Temo tries to hold him back. Ari announces his mother is in jail.

Neto's phone rings. At first he doesn't recognize the voice. It is his long lost wife Ariana.

Another good episode. Susana and Pancho have such good comedic timing between them. Those characters are a welcome respite to some of the more serious plot lines. Also when it came to comic scenes, Hugo got s BIG surprise when he thought he could just dismiss Tavo and send him home.

Jarifa, thank you for this excellent as always recap. I missed quite a bit of the show. I didn't fall asleep this time, I went off on an emergency run to Trader Joe's. I was all out of TJ's milk chocolate truffle bars. And it could snow again, you never know...

Anyway, I forgot to turn on the DVR. It's all set up to record the 9 o'clock show and then the 10 o'clock, but the DVR, the TV, etc., are all on a power bar that I turn off every night. I got back in time to see most of it and I knew your recap would be as good as, or better than, watching the program. I do enjoy watching, but I often don't get all the dialog and need the recap to figure out some parts of what I watched.

Anyway, it turns out Guido is human after all. That complicates things. The guy killed Gabriel and probably his own parents, and tried to kill poor Hermoso. Now they want to make him human with feelings for Yolo. I hope this doesn't wind up getting Neto in trouble with the law for punching out Guido. We'll see.

Ari and Temo: borrrrring. Sure, life can be tough for a couple of gay teenagers, but give it a rest already.

Poor Polita! But how were the drinks contaminated? If whole batches of them, why are they coming down on her? Why not the company or someone higher up the food chain?
(But why am I trying to make sense of a plot device in a TN? Just nod and accept everything without question; don't worry, be happy.)

:-)

Incredible Jarifa.

Loved "She belligerently agrees", the interesting "fortachón" (nickname: strong man/he-man, hunk)" and "trivia: the actress's first name is Azul/Blue)".

It was difficult to watch Ari and Polita in their respective skyfalls without nets. Polita, who is such a kind, loving mother, has lost her son and is now in jail. I have to say I’m a bit disappointed in that her family seems more concerned with dealing with Neto than helping her survive her crisis. And as terrible as Ari’s taunting was, I can only hope that social media exposure serves to come to his rescue and that everyone will rally round him and Temo.

The father and child reunion has been pure pain. I couldn’t imagine being in Neto’s shoes, facing such a tepid (at best) reaction from his newly found family.
“Eugenio says they have always been a loving family and some day they will come to love each other. Silence”. Egads.

“Eugenio sees no problem because she is like a light and that is contagious”. So sweet.

“Imelda tells Tulio she is so upset about Neto and Eugenio that she feels like her heart is going to jump out of her chest”. If only. Blech.

“Yolo calls Linda pretentious and out of style”. I had to smile at that. I think Linda has had one of (if not the) worst wardrobes I’ve ever seen. Boho chic she ain’t.

For a few moments, we saw the young man Guido might have become. I don't know if he is evil or mentally ill or a mixture of both. It seems Yolo might get her heart broken.

andy, your question as to the contaminated drinks was excellent. I'm glad you answered it yourself - sometimes it's best not to ask why :)

So, Neto's ex is reappearing. Can't wait to see who plays her. As if his life isn't complicated enough...

Jarifa, sensational. I can't tell you how much I'd miss if not for your detailed accounting. Thank you!

Diana

Andy, I know all about the “siren call” of chocolate. I think you are just being “responsible”; being prepared for any emergency! I will have to give the TJ’s truffle bars a try. Their truffles are excellent. My Valentine’s Day stash is getting low. You are so right about Polita and the contaminated drinks. I sure hope she implicates Rufo since he is the one who got her into the pyramid scheme to begin with. At least Polita has Pancho, his goodwill and his $$ on her side.

Diana, so true about Linda and the wardrobe the character has been provided. It was funny seeing Linda who prides herself on being the “with it” young adult being called “out of style” by bratty Yolo of the upcoming generation. As for Guido, here we have another complicated but murderous soul that makes one think “What if . . . “ I am so glad you enjoy the trivia and details. They make the productions so much more colorful.

Thanks for your kind comments.

Andy: Guido is a killer & bloodthirsty one at that.

Jarifa, I missed this episode, so I Especially appreciate your excellent retelling.

Most of us are not fans of Yola, but Nobody deserves Guido in their orbit. I think that he is mentally ill...like Criminal Minds mentally ill...a show I avoid.
Andy and Jarifa, I have heard of Trader Joe's , but we don't have any in my area. I do like chocolate. I try not to eat a lot of sweets and have a pretty healthy diet, but I do indulge IN a Hershey bar with almonds from time to time and take a bite after dinner. When I was a young mommy on a strict budget, on my birthday , I would take a 10 dollar bill to our local mall and buy myself one Hershey bar , a magazine, and a cheap pair of earrings. $10.00 went pretty far in those days.

I am getting tired of the teenage angst. Next...as our dear Dr. Carlos used to tell us.

WEll, sunny and bright here , but the thermometer on the deck reads 30. Dropping into the single digits tonight.

Oh my, this is the day of Chocolate Confessions. Wish that I had your self-discipline Susanlynn. Can never limit myself to just one bite. But your Mommy Budget remark did bring back memories. The grandmothers provided the kids with clothes, I bought anything I needed for me at re-sale shops, and the rest went strictly for needed groceries. No candy on the list at all. Alas, I'm in the midst of a York Mint Patty Obsession this Winter.

Now back to the recap. Great one, Jarifa, and I enjoyed the little extra touches like the handsome pediatrician saying "it" was beautiful when it could mean either the bakery or Daniela. And the trivia on Azul the actress and of course my favorite "fortachón". Our fortachón has certainly added some needed beefcake to the storyline but am bummed his ex-wife is about to show up and throw a spanner into the works of the Grecia/Neto romance. Oh well...the more the merrier.

Glad everyone has made it to work, grocery, whatever and back home safely in this wretched weather. Time to cling to that Nietzsche statement "What doesn't kill me, makes me strong."

Stay strong Patio. With or without chocolate.

Susanlynn, ITA that NOBODY deserves a Guido in their life let alone Yolo. It is almost disturbing seeing him on his good behavior since he is so twisty at the core.

Everyone deserves a Trader Joe’s. Do you have Aldi’s? Same company ownsboth. It is 17 and sunny heading up to 22. I will take it!

JudyB, I cannot wait to see Neto’s reaction to his ex . I wonder if she will appear and try to make nice with him and the kids. . .I hope not.

York Peppermint patties are always a good choice.

Jarifa..when I was a kid, I loved those York peppermint patties.I did not get a lot of candy and always slowly nibbled and savored a piece of 🍬candy when I was lucky enough to get one. Anyone remember Skybars? Someone just told me that they stopped making them .

Ot..jarifa, yes, we have Aldis, but I have never been there. However, my friend Carol has gone there and seemed to like it.

Susanlynn, OT They have delicious chocolate from Germany at a very good price.

Jarifa: I'm still worried for Yolo because Guido is likely to add more people to the growing Body Count before this TV Drama ends.

OT..Jarifa..good to know. My absolute favorite candy is the relatively inexpensive Hershey milk chocolate bar with almonds, but I know that dark chocolate is supposed to actually be good for you, so I bought my grand girls Dove dark chocolate hearts for Valentine's Day and some for myself...one a day after dinner. There is a place called Hershey Park in Hershey, PA...everything chocolate is available at that amusement park. When you check into the Hershey Hotel...they give you Hershey bars !! ...the spa features chocolate stuff.

Sounds wonderful to me!

O/T:

Susanlynn, Yes! I do remember the Sky Bar, and fondly. (Actually, I have fond thoughts for almost anything that involves chocolate.)

Wikipedia tells me that the company that made the Sky Bar, Necco (remember Necco wafers?), went under in 2018. A small company bought the rights to the Sky Bar, so there is a possibility that it could return.

But there's no going back, and I'm not sure I would be so interested in Sky Bars these days.

:-)

andy

Wish Imelda’s heart would jump out of her chest....plop right into her white powdered clown makeup! Polita has been tortured by this evil hag....Pkease don’t let Audifaz or Tulio be Neto’s real dad!

Oh no's...you're telling me Necco wafers is kaput Andy! Fondly remember those days of plowing through the lemon, lime and pink ones to get to those...ah...chocolate ones. Having a whole roll of chocolate ones never held the same charm. Too much of a good thing. Hated the black, licorice ones of course.

Somehow Sky Bars passed me by.Never even heard of 'em. I was a big fan of frozen Milky Ways at the swimming pool in the summer. And still sneak the leftover Snickers bars at Halloween time. Was never one to drink or smoke so this is my main guilty not-so-secret.

I stocked up on Necco’s last year. Supposedly the company has been bought but wasn’t ready to produce the “conversation hearts” they were also famous for this last Valentine’s Day. Who knows if we will ever see any of these again?😕

Anon, ITA about hoping Neto is not stuck with Audi or Tulio as a father. That would be too much in addition to Imelda.

JudyB, sorry about Necco wafers. Please don't shoot the messenger.

I did use to drink and smoke (they seemed to go together). I smoked my last cigarette about 45 years ago and I probably now average two or three drinks a year.

Chocolate is the only thing keeping me going :-)

andy

You and me both kid.

Great job, Jarifa! And again, I just really love your creative titles!

I don't have much time, but here is what I think: It's sickening to watch Yolo with Guido, he's such a psychopath. And I'd also add serial killer to his list of "cons". No pros to him at all.

As for Ari performing, this was NOT the time to bring out the 'gay agenda'. He should have just performed his music without having to force the gay agenda in the faces of his audience. He knew who he was performing before and did he think he would get a good reaction? This was a very unwise move and of course the bullies are not going to behave themselves.

Been very busy with my new job. I'll be recapping tonight.

Cynthi

Andy....I have never been able to drink much. I am small I discovered early that if i have a very few drinks, I fall asleep. ..so I used to have maybe 5drinks a year..my birthday, hub's birthday, our anniversary , Christmas, New Year's eve ....a whiskey sour on the rocks was our drink or Asti Spumante on holidays.

Judyb...I didn't really like the taste of Necco waters so much, but I would often get them because my nickel seemed to buy so much.

Cynthia, thanks. ITA that Ari should have done what was asked if he wanted the job.

OT: back in the ‘70’s people used to try to use Necco’s wafers instead of coins in the toll booths,

OT..jarifa..you're kidding !!!

OT: Susanlynn, It is true. I am not kidding. The goofy things people will try.
