Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, Capítulo 145, Thursday, April 11, 2019; New Engagement, New Jobs, and facing the New Normal

We begin with Dani in anguish at the front door because Carlos wanted to kiss her. She says, “No Carlos, No.” Evidently, Carlos thought that all these months of friendship could lead to something more serious. But Daniela says she doesn’t want to hurt him anymore and will look for another pediatrician for her babies. She says, “I’m sorry” as she closes the door to Carlos. She cries after shutting the door and Carlos looks quite hurt on the other side.

At Catalina’s place, they are having dinner with the children, but Julieta and Robert aren’t there because they are out at the restaurant having dinner with Temo and Ari. Doorbell rings and it’s Diana. She wants to know if Hugo can forgive her after all this time. She still loves him. Julieta and Robert arrive just as Diana leaves. Robert advises Hugo to forgive.

Robert and Julieta go to bed and discuss the surgery that Robert will do for Dave for removing his scars. Robert pats Julieta’s belly and he tells the baby how much he loves him. Then Robert and Julieta are disturbed by loudness coming from the next room with Catalina and Tavo. It’s downright embarrassing for Julieta because her mother is making so much noise with Tavo.

They come out to the living room and see Hugo doing his pushups. Julieta asks about all the noise and Hugo tells them that this happens every single night. Julieta and Robert are flabbergasted. Robert asks, “How do they do it?” And Julieta answers, “Well I just don’t want to know. However, we can’t live this way. We need to leave.” Robert says, “Well, we can go back to my parents house.” But this doesn’t go over very well with Julieta. Robert then suggests, “I know you need to be more comfortable for the last month of pregnancy. Let’s just go house hunting. We can afford it now because I’m taking the Directorship of the hospital job.”

Temo and Ari talk in the hallway for a while. Then all of a sudden this women in a short tight dress asks for Ari. She is obviously a hooker and she says she is there to celebrate his birthday. Ari asks how she got his name and why she is there and who called her to come over. Temo tries to get her to cover up and tries to put his jacket around her. Ari tells her that she is not the kind of gift he was looking for. So she says, “Well ask your uncle and your father about this. Hey, where is my money?” Tulio and Audi have been listening for the upstairs. Finally, Tulio and Audi come down and confront Temo and Ari. Then the arguing starts and then Polita comes out wanting to know what is going on. She asks the woman who she is and the woman admits she was hired by Tulio and Audifáz and she wants to be paid. Angrily, Ari tells his father this is the last thing he will do. The arguments continue and the woman is still asking, “Who is going to pay me?” Finally Tulio takes out some cash and pays the woman.

Daniela and Blanca talk in the kitchen. She tells Dani that sometimes love is so strong that it just overflows. She tells Dani, “In all calmness I say this. Do you think you can arrive at a time in your life that you can start new?”

Mássimo is visiting with Imelda and he tells her he has something that he bought for her sometime ago. He presents her with a diamond engagement ring and asks her to marry him. Imelda accepts his proposal and he puts the ring on her finger. Imelda has tears of happiness.

Polita sends the boys to the apartment so she can confront Audi. She asks him about his Christianity and how this does not line up with what he is supposed practice. [And he should be ashamed of what he has done Repent, Audifáz.] Polita tells him this is the last time she will allow him to interact with Ari and Temo and to leave them alone from now on. After Polita turns around and leaves, Audi says, “I’ve lost her forever now.”

The next morning, Robert and Julieta check out a new home for themselves. Julieta loves the house. They decide to take it. Dave asks when his surgery will take place and both Robert and Julieta try to tell him that it may not turn out perfectly because nothing in life is 100% perfect. However, Dave says he believes in his father and trusts him.

Today is the day for the competition to occur between Julieta and Pancho. Susana explains the terms. Temo and Ari are there to be their models and the objective is to come up with a plan for beach wear for them and then do a photo shoot with them. The best and most creative one will be the winner to take the Vice President of Creativity position.

The Córsegas gather in the living room together. Imelda announces her good news that she and Mássimo are engaged. Blanca announces to that she and Eugenio will be renewing their wedding vows very soon. Eugenio gets up and wants to congratulate his mother and wants to fill his mind with happy memories. Then he suddenly looks pained and sullen. Blanca asks, “Eugenio, what is wrong?” Everyone seems to notice that Eugenio has had a little accident and he is almost crying with embarrassment. Neto takes the lead and takes Eugenio the bathroom to help him bathe and get changed. [It’s what any good son would do, right?]

In the bathroom, Neto tells Eugenio not to be embarrassed and helps bathe him and helps him with some fresh clothes.

Dani calls Robert to tell him what happened. Robert just wishes he could have been there. When Robert gets there, he walks in on Eugenio hugging Neto and says, “Papa, I’m here now.” He tells Neto he can go now and go take care of his children and thanks him for his help and support. As he leaves, Neto tells Eugenio, “Whatever you need, I’m here for you.”

Eugenio sits down and Robert tells him that he is sorry that he wasn’t here for him at a time like this. However, Eugenio tells Robert that he can’t be there all the time since he has a wife and children of his own to take care of. Robert tells Eugenio, “What good are everything that I have without you?”

Eugenio returns to the living room and apologizes to everyone. Then Blanca announces for Robert’s sake that Imelda and Mássimo are getting married. “So when is the wedding?” Imelda answers, “As soon as possible.” [Better hurry, before either of them kick the bucket.]

Now it’s Linda’s term to speak. Axel joins her as she announces that they are novios. No one is pleased to hear that news. Blanca asks Robert to tell her she is wrong to do this. Then a frustrated Linda says that it isn’t fair that Robert should say anything after being gone for so many months. Of course this make Robert feel even more guilty than he already does. He says he is going to move in there with them. But Blanca turns him down flat. She says, “No, you can’t do that. Your wife is pregnant and you have other children.” [Now this surprised me.] Finally Robert says, “Okay then, but I will come over every day to see you.”

At Cklass, both Pancho and Julieta come up with their own designs. [Who knew that Pancho could sew?] The outfits are made and the photoshoot begins. Julieta has dressed Temo in a Hawaiian type of shirt with a hat and shorts. But Pancho’s creative idea has turned Ari into Tarzan at the beach, with shorts, but shirtless.

Later, Susana goes over the results with Pancho and Julieta. The directors have looked over their work and concepts and start of by saying that Pancho’s Tarzan idea showed diversity and creativity. But the pictures of Ari were altered to make him look more muscular. Susana is ready to read the results of who won. However, before Susana announces who won, Pancho concedes and tells Julieta that she won and this is her place to be the Vice President of Creativity.

Pancho becomes the new Director of Promotions and Technical Marketing.

Linda and Axel talk in the hallway and are a little more hopeful about their relationship together.

Outside, Nico returns to see Yolo and says he came back to get a charger for the phone. He tells her the phone was actually for his little sister.

Daniela receives a text from Carlos apologizing for what happened. He tells her that one day he hopes to regain their friendship.

Julieta addresses her workgroup in a meeting for her project on how to integrate parents who are working to support their children and spend enough time with them.

At the hospital, Robert and Tavo talk about Dave’s upcoming surgery and Robert wants his help with the analysis.

Days later….[who knows how many] Julieta and Robert have moved into their new home.

Eduardo gives Ari a memory book with a rainbow in front.

Yolo gets a phone call from Guido and she is shocked. She hangs up on him without saying anything. Neto wants to know who it was, “Was it your mother?” “No it was Guido.”

In prison, the guards bring in Luigi. Guido looks at him and says, “Well here is my traitor.”

The Córsega family gathers again and this time so that Robert and Julieta announce the name of their baby to be born. They will name him Jesus. Everyone is excited and jumps for joy. Then Eugenio says that he loves the name and hopes it will bring luck to his son Juan Pablo disappeared many years ago.  Robert just stares at Eugenio and no one knows what to do.

This is the last time I'll be recapping for this show since it ends this coming Monday. I have enjoyed this patio and all of your comments. I want to thank Jarifa especially, for helping keep us organized with this show. It's been a good run and lots of surprises. I'm going to take a break from recapping for a few months and just spend some fun time watching a new TN, don't know which I will follow yet, but I'll be around to comment on what I find interesting.

So thank you to everyone here who has commented and complimented our writing here for you. I have tried to keep it as interesting and entertaining as possible. Thank you again Jarifa. It's been fun!

Thank you, Cynthia! An excellent recap for your last one with this telenovela. I hope to see your comments on some other TN.

They are definitely packing these episodes, there's not much idle time at all now.

"...pass the rest of my days with you." With Imelda? A modern day version of hell.

The hooker for Ari was unbelievably crass. But I am so tired of him and his boyfriend. They are gay, we get it, we don't care; let's move on, please.

Pobrecito de Eugenio! If Univision cut that scene just a bit, they finally got something right, even though these are real problems we encounter in real life. But if they wanted to do something about the loss of bladder control I wish they had done so earlier. I, personally, would prefer "últimos capítulos" to be a little more upbeat. But then what to do with poor Eugenio? I guess he won't be in MMTF III.

Everybody is so opposed to Axel and Linda being together that I am now rooting for them.     :-)

What did Frida say after Yolo spoke with that boy again? I didn't get a word of it. He needs caffeine, that kid... or something. Maybe he was recently in a zombie movie and is still in character. What a stiff! I don't know why they decided to use him; maybe he's another of Osorio's kids?

They put Luigi in the same cell with Guido? Oops.

andy

Thank you, Cynthia, for this final recap and all the previous recaps you have us. I appreciate your tine, effort, and talent. You are a busy woman, and I am amazed at townhouse fit these excellent recaps into your schedule.

It was sweet to see Neto helping Eugenio in the shower. It made me remember doing that for my mother and hub helping my dad. Our parents care for us , and then later in life, we in turn care for them.

Okay, I must soon be off to get my granddaughter on the bus.

Cynthia: I'm assuming the Gran Final will be 2 HRS on Monday ? I'll be making sure to DVR it.

Andy: I went ROFLOL when they placed Luigi in the same cell as Guido.

Susanlynn: Dani rejects Carlos ? I'm sure they'll still end up together in the end though.

Cynthia, one of the most inspired titles I've EVER seen. Creative to the max.

First things first. Thank you for all your time and effort in creating your marvelous recaps. Your thoughts in red always seemed to summarize what I was feeling. You soldiered on despite not feeling well, a new position, company and a busy life. Interesting and entertaining indeed. Every word. Thank you!

You and Jarifa made an outstanding team.

"Robert tells Eugenio, “What good are everything that I have without you?” hurt my heart. To the writers, I say that we totally understand Eugenio's condition. We get it. Do you really need to hammer the nail in deeper? andy, I couldn't agree more. The bladder control issue would have been best left to our imaginations. We know what is coming. Can't we just enjoy the remaining lucid days Eugenio has before him?

Susanlynn, yes, Neto helping Eugenio was very touching. We've been there and understand...

Wasn't surprised that Dani rejected Carlos. I seem to remember that she fought her feelings for Gabi for quite some time. Trying to put her love for him aside is still almost impossible. I've said before that unless there is a time jump, we won't see these two together.

I feel a bit disloyal saying I could do without Susana and Pancho. They were a great filler, but I'm more interested in Neto and Grecia and Julieta and the outstanding Daniel Arenas...And we also get Temo and Ari are in love. Fine. But let's move on.

I didn't think Audi could screw up more than he already had. Ooops. Wrong again.

andy, yes, Guido and Luigi as cell mates does not bode well for the future, does it? Well, at least Guido's future.

I always enjoy the usual big wedding TNs usually offer. But Imelda's?? Ack.

So, while satisfying, last night left me wanting more of what we didn't see and a bit less of what we saw.

Cynthia, again, thank you...

Diana

Thank you, Cynthia, for this recap and all your recaps you have written for us on the Patio during MMTMF!!! ❤️❤️❤️. I always enjoy your editorial comments, too!

"I didn't think Audi could screw up more than he already had. Ooops. Wrong again." Agree!!! Tulio has not evolved during this season, either. 🙄

Hugo doing those pushups while Cat and Tavo were, um, working out . . . was funny. As were the Oppas worrying about the noise waking up their kids. LOL

Imelda and Maasimo . . . Okaaaayyyy ... maybe they deserve each other.

Awww... pobrecito de Axel & Linda. Why they thought their happy announcement would not go over like a lead balloon says it all.

Lots of ArisTemo scenes just help me FFWD-> thru the episode quickly.

Thanks, Cynthia. Beautiful recap. Muchisimas gracias for covering Mi Marido through thick and thin. I remain amazed how you and Jarifa did it -- with such finesse. You both deserve a standing ovation.

I can do without Axel and Linda, but must admit Linda said what I've been thinking when she said Robert hasn't been there for them. It's not his fault, but still I totally get her resentment that he wasn't there for Gabe's death or till now for Eugenio's illness.

Neto cleaning up his "dad" Eugenio in the shower. Too moving. Neto's mother got around (between Eugenio, Audi, and who knows who else), but she certainly raised a fine son.

On to the funny, Catalina getting it on loudly with Tavo, disturbing her grown kids! Hugo sure is a twit to still be living there.

Dani deserves happiness wherever, whenever she can get it. But I was annoyed Carlos returned and tried to kiss her. Hombre, just chill and give the woman at least one night alone to process that her beloved husband was murdered and his cousin is doing a life sentence for the crime. Patience -- but then I know the show's ending Monday so you don't have much time! :D

Thank you, Cynthia for another outstanding recap with so much of your commentary. I, also, want to thank you for being a wonderful team member. You are the best!

Catalina and Tavo having a fine old time and everyone’s reactions were the highlights for me last night. Were those chimp noises? I am still laughing. I had to laugh when Hugo told Robert and Julieta that it happened all the time. At least it got Robert and Julieta a new house.

Thank goodness, Blanca put the brakes on Robert wanting to move back in. I still feel sorry for them for all of those lost years caused by Robert’s abduction. I am so happy Auntie Ana didn't reappear this season.

So happy to hear Ari and Temo were only kidding about getting married.

I loved Pancho being put in a new position in charge of promotions. That is playing to his strengths.

We never see any moving vans in novelas. Novela houses and apartments always seem to be just furnished and ready to go with nobody arguing about what to buy or what to place where. They are missing some interesting plot lines.

Andy, “A modern day version of hell.” Perfect! They can annoy each other: she and her “wonderful temperament” and he with his wandering eye (until it closes for good) Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

Susanlynn, Yes Neto was as “sweet” with Eugenio as if he were his real father. Neto is a real keeper.

Steve, the finale starts two hours earlier on Mon.

Diana, I do not think Audi will ever get it. Another harebrained plot! That being said, interesting that Tulio was the one to pay the prostitute. At least she got paid. If had been just Audi . . . She would have left empty handed.

doris, No joy in Mudville for Axel and Linda. I still am not a fan but at least two twits are off the market.

Niecie, I also was bothered by Carlos’ return. He is a bit tone deaf evidently. Has he not been listening to her? That being said, I hope he realizes how emotionally high maintenance Dani is even when all is going well.

So enjoying the comments this morning.

doris, Tulio is an oxygen waster, isn't he? Have no idea why he came back. All he has to do is sit there, stony faced. Nice work if you can get it.

"Hugo sure is a twit to still be living there" says it all Niecie. Heaven knows why Diana still wants him...

Jarifa, "I still am not a fan but at least two twits are off the market". HA! And your "I hope he realizes how emotionally high maintenance Dani is even when all is going well" hit home. I hadn't realized it but you are totally right.

Only tonight and the finale on Monday. I feel sad.

Also, thank you to all you for your kind wishes. Back at work...

Diana

Diana, I am feeling 😕, too, in spite of all of the usual annoyances at this point in a novela. Glad to hear you are back at work and just think, tomorrow is the weekend!

Boy Cynthia, your dual screenshots of Daniela and Carlos were excellent. And loved all the saucy red asides. I guess the writers are making sure none of us have any regrets about Polita and Audifaz ending their marriage. And while neither Nonno nor Imelda interest me, I thought your screencap of those gnarled old hands clutching an engagement ring was very touching. As they say "Hope over experience".

Doris, I do a lot of fast forwarding too.

Happy Friday everyone. Lots of rain this morning but now clearing up. Wonderful plants seem to be springing up overnight. Such a lift for the spirits.

Yes, thank you, thank you, thank you for all your wonderful recaps, Cynthia! I think Julieta as Creative Director and Pancho as Marketing Director of Cklass is just about perfect--playing to both their strengths. I guess Linda and Axel are the biological equivalents of 3rd cousins, which is kind of borderline as far as marrying is concerned. I had halfway expected that one of them would turn out to be adopted or something.

"Susana is ready to read the results of who won. However, before Susana announces who won, Pancho concedes and tells Julieta that she won and this is her place to be the Vice President of Creativity.
Pancho becomes the new Director of Promotions and Technical Marketing."

That was an interesting scene. Susana's facial expression led me to believe that she was a bit shocked at the board's decision and that Pancho was throwing the contest.

But maybe not...

andy

Ah, another thing. "At the hospital, Robert and Tavo talk about Dave’s upcoming surgery and Robert wants his help with the analysis."

Tavo? The psychologist or psychiatrist? Not another surgeon? Plastic, dermatologic, or whatever? Well, maybe Tavo picked up some plastic surgery skills while working as a stock clerk at Cklass.

:-p

andy

Cynthia, thank you so much for all of your wonderful recaps! They've been so helpful and entertaining! Really appreciated.

Andy, I had the same problem with Yolo's new mumble-mouthed boyfriend-to-be -- couldn't understand him at all. Still in zombie mode -- ha! As for Tavo, maybe he and Axel can study to become lawyers and detectives in their free time, since Oaxaca seems to only have one of each of those professions. : )

Luigi and Guido together again was not a reunion I was expecting.

Hoping for happy outcomes for all of our storylines where that's possible!

Lynne
