Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 4/8/19 Capítulo 142 You Can't Step in the Same River Twice--OR--You Can't Go Home Again

Robert wants to know how long the Alzheimer's has been  going on and why he wasn't told. Eugenio explains he didn't want him and Julieta to be tormented by the news or their opportunity abroad cut short. Robert apologizes for being so far away and not being aware of what was going on.  Eugenio says that he needs him now and he is here. Robert is not planning on leaving again.  He is going to take advantage of every second to be by his father's side. They will share everything as father and son. Robert tells his father he loves him as he hugs him.

Imelda is remembering Ari as a little boy and how he always liked to dance. Now, he is older but his essence is still the same and he is still dancing.  She wants him to do whatever makes him happy and she wants him to have a happy birthday. Ari tells her that she gave him the best gift she could have and she has changed his life forever.  She has filled him and Temo with hope that hatred can end in the world. She goes on to tell Ari and Temo to take care of themselves, respect themselves and to love each other  because even though she has pretended not to hear,  she  always heard Ari say "The heart is never wrong."  Ari hugs his grandmother.  She says she loves him and always has. Ari loves her, too. She calls Temo over and hugs him, too.  Imelda tells Ari that the longest distance between two places is time. That is what Ari needs to give his father.

At the jail, Nonno is talking with Guido who he loved  as a son as much as he could. Guido is in no mood to listen to him and dismisses Nonno's declaration saying that it wasn't love. It was pity since Guido was so weak. He was the poor orphan all alone in the world.  He turns away.  Nonno insists that he really did love him and wanted to protect him, give him a happy life but now he does pity him seeing what he has turned into.  He has become a traitor who has betrayed him,  took advantage of him, and manipulated him knowing he was an old man who loved him.  Guido smirks to himself.  Nonno admits he might have been able to have excused Guido's betrayal in his businesses but he will never be able to forgive him for what he did to his cousin. Guido turned into the lowest of the low murderer snatching Gabriel away from life and from his family.  Guido has disappointed him. Guido turns back around and gives his side of things. For years, he thought Nonno was his only salvation and that he was different but he ended up just proving what Guido already knew: it is one's family who ends up betraying you.  Nonno calls him on twisting things around.  Guido continues saying Nonno never trusted him.  He preferred Gabriel and Ernesto Rey over  him. Now, he has placed his hopes on Dani's triplets. Nonno reminds him that he just asked him to fulfill one condition: to get married. As for the rest, Nonno informs him that people who have suffered more than he have managed to have lives full of goodness and haven't caused more suffering.  Guido smirks again.  Nonno states that Guido put himself in jail with what he did to Gabriel. He turns away from Guido and leaves.

Out in the hall, Robert and Julieta are at the shrine to our Lady of Guadalupe where Robert is in tears over his father's diagnosis. There is nothing to be done; no treatment. Julieta says that they can be his medicine and remind him of his life day after day.  She also tells Robert that he doesn't always have to be strong. Robert asks why it had to happen to "his"  father. He is so afraid of what is coming. After all of these years, he finally found his father and now this. Julieta hugs him.

Temo and Ari run into Robert and Julieta. Everyone is happy to see each other.  Temo notices Julieta is pregnant. The boys congratulate Robert and Julieta.  Ari says a thousand things have happened since they were gone.  Robert says they have realized that.  Robert also reminds them that all four of them have a talk pending.  Ari grabs Temo's hand and tells them that he and Temo are novios. Julieta says they had heard and are so happy for them. Ari will want to tell them what happened with his grandmother. It was incredible. They all agree to plan a supper for the four of them.

Imelda talks to Polita next.  She realizes that she made many mistakes with her and that it is too bad because she wasn't able to see what a really great woman Polita had become.  Imelda confesses to having been blinded by her own ideas for a long time.  That being said both Ari and Polita have shown her that there is a range of many different choices in this life.  Polita remarks that she never wanted to be against Imelda.  She just had to make decisions that were the best for her children and her own growth.  Imelda is not pleased that that Polita's marriage with Audifaz didn't go well because Polita was good for him.  Imelda adits that Audi is the victim of his own ideas many of which she herself taught him.  So, she bares part of the blame there, too.  Imelda asks Polita if there is any chance of Polita going back to Audi. Polita says she is another person and another woman who is no longer dependent on him. She has come to know and value herself as well as making her own decisions.  She truly doesn't see Audi in her plans.  She also has a chance for love with Eduardo and wants to let life surprise her and her children. Imelda smiles and understands. Imelda also wants to also tell her that she talked to Ari and Temo.  She asks Polita to forgive her.  Polita expresses that Imelda hurt her very deeply, but she does forgive her because she only wants to look ahead and not back. Imelda thanks her and they hold hands.

(Back in Blanca's kitchen, Julieta is helping Blanca out and telling her how her own cooking has improved due to Blanca's Youtube channel.  Blanca teases her saying she will have to prove it.  Julieta also shares that she learned a lot of things which will help her in her profession.  Blanca says this talk is the very reason she wants her and Roberto staying with them.  She wants to also tell Julieta about her personal plans, about the independent life she has established for herself but she won't push the issue. Next,  Blanca offers Julieta a special vitamin rich pregnancy drink that Julieta declines because she doesn't know how it will sit on  her stomach.  That doesn't sit well with Blanca who asks Julieta if they are starting already.  Julieta says no and doesn't want the two of them arguing on her first day back. Blanca agrees, smiles and tells Julieta she is looking prettier than ever.  Julieta says that this pregnancy has filled her with energy and she wants to stay that way to be able to support Robert. Blanca agrees that both of them need to be strong for their husbands.)

Robert and Eugenio are at the sauna together. Eugenio is happy coming at this time because it is so peaceful . Robert wants them to make a tradition of coming here together everyday. Robert also wants to hear all about when his mother was pregnant with him. Robert wants to help his dad to face his illness in the best way possible.

Temo gets good news in an e-mail. He  has been accepted at the school he wanted to attend in Mexico City.  Ari asks him what is up. Temo tells him the truth.

Julieta continues chatting with Blanca and the topic turns to work and Julieta wanting to get back to work as soon as possible so she can work maybe up to a week before her due date.  Blanca thinks that could be dangerous. Julieta doesn't think so. Anyway, Julieta has an idea that might help all of the parents who work there and she wants to get it going a soon as she can since she is a vice president.  Out of nowhere, Blanca starts to clarify her relationship with Julieta.  Being her "mamá suegra" is almost like being a second mother and that relationship has served each of them well in being honest with each other.  Julieta gets the drift and asks Blanca what is going on.  Blanca feels she has the responsibility to tell her what she knows about what is going on at her company.  Blanca spills the beans. Pancho took over her vice presidency at the office. Julieta is shocked.

Back at the sauna while they are shaving, Eugenio tells Robert the worst thing so far has been forgetting who his mother was. He never wants that to happen again.  Neto suddenly comes in and Eugenio greets him. Neto calls him "father". They hug. Robert doesn't know what is going on.  Eugenio explains this is Ernesto who he told him about before. He is his "brother".  Neto says that Robert must be the famous "Juan Pablo" that everyone who has talked about. He is happy to meet him and that he has come back to Mexico. Neto had no idea Eugenio came to the sauna. Eugenio explains it is something he shares with his son Robert.  Neto suggest that they all organize their schedules so all three of them can meet here and he can get to know Juan Pablo better. Robert asks that he call him "Robert".  His parents are the only ones who call him "Juan Pablo. " That is no problem for Neto and he tells Robert that he can call him "Neto".  Eugenio loves the idea of all three of them meeting at the sauna. Neto hugs Eugenio again. Robert is careful to control his negative reaction to the situation.

Back in the kitchen, Julieta is angry and asks how Pancho López could become a vice presdent of a company. Blanca denies knowing any of the details except that he was an important executive in Toluca.  Julieta laughs. Now Blanca feels bad having told her.  Blanca wants Julieta to know that she has changed a lot and is no longer a meddler.  Julieta tells her she is grateful that she told her.  Julieta is wondering why they would fill her job when they knew she was coming back and never even told her what was happening.

Temo isn't sure how to feel about being accepted. Ari tells him they need to celebrate because it is something that Temo wants. It is his new goal. Ari is not surprised that he was accepted  because Temo is  super smart, capable, helpful to others and an excellent student with great ideas just like his father. Ari knows he will have a great future being one of the "good" politicians.   It is Temo's passion to make positive changes for people.  It is just too bad they are going to be so far away from each other.

Blanca thinks that Julieta, being such a talented businesswoman,  will be able to find a job anywhere at another corporation. Julieta is not going down that road. She loves  Cklass. Blanca says there is only one job so either Pancho or she will end up without a job.  Julieta wants to call Susana right away. Blanca suggests that she wait. Julieta agrees it is better to wait until tomorrow. Blanca suggests she breathe deeply to calm down and  relax with something like yoga.  Bili the digital assistant reminds Julieta it is time for her African yoga.  Julieta also has some African recipes for Blanca. Blanca suggests that Julieta could be a stay at home mom and come over to cook with her if she doesn't want to take Pancho's job. That doesn't work for Julieta. She stayed at home in Africa but really missed being a part of her workplace.  She doesn't want to give up her professional growth. There is no way she is quitting and least of all because of Pancho López .

Neto tries to talk to Robert  as he shaves. Robert asks Neto why he is in Oaxaca.  Neto explains the deportation.  Eugenio laughs saying that he bets that Robert and Neto  have more in common than being in the USA  like having the same father. Robert apologizes but explains that he really doesn't understand what is going on. Eugenio and Neto explain  all about Yolotl Eugenio's  first love, the first DNA test, the anonymous message and the second DNA test after which they found out unfortunately that they were not related after all. Eugenio explains that neither he or Neto wanted to let their mutual affection go, so the Córcega's are still Neto's family and Neto is Robert's "almost" brother. Neto is overjoyed to have an "almost" brother. Robert looks less than happy.

Back at Blanca's, Julieta is ready to go and rest so she is ready to be at work the first thing in the morning.  Imelda comes in with the announcement that she feels like a great weight has been lifted off of her.  Imelda tells them they can both be proud of her because she has accepted Ari and Temo's relationship.  Julieta is pleased and thinks that this big step will only bring he closer to her grandson.

Ari admits to being selfish only thinking about his relationship with Temo when Temo  wants to fulfill his dreams. Temo says he is thinking of both of them and as soon as Ari makes up his mind to leave, he will help him look for something in Mexico City. Ari is still reluctant because of his family and his music but now agrees that they can visit each weekend.  Temo says they can talk about that all later because there is still one final surprise for Ari for his birthday and it has to do with their future.

Back at Blanca's Imelda tells Blanca and Julieta  that she also apologized to Polita.  Now  Imelda is asking for Blanca's forgiveness.  She didn't listen to her when she was right. Blanca has been fundamental in making this building a real home including accepting Neto's family.  Blanca says, of course,  she will forgive Imelda because we all  have to change and evolve. The same thing happened to her with Julieta's suggestion of a journal,  learning how to drive and making videos.  She has accomplished so much.  Imelda recognizes that she is very old but it is never too late to change. They all laugh. Imelda says the same thing happened to Julieta who once was a woman who didn't want children and is now on her third. Julieta agrees and is happy that they can all keep supporting each other. Blanca sees that even being more important with Eugenio's illness.  Imelda agrees so that her son Eugenio is left with the best memories. She reminds them  that Eugenio's Alzheimer's  has worsened recently a lot faster than they would have thought.

Dave is in the bathroom looking at himself sadly in the mirror.  Linda knocks on the door.  She has to get ready quickly because she is going to Susana's. She invites him along. The are all going to camp in the garden. He is worried about seeing Lupita.

In the locker room, Neto addresses the tension between himself and Robert about calling Eugenio his "father." Robert is honest and tells him he is aware how long he has been away from home but now he is back and he is there to be responsible as a son should be.  Neto assures him he doesn't ever have to be afraid of being replaced.  Nobody could ever take his relationship with Eugenio away.  Robert informs him it isn't fear but,  in all honesty,  it bothers him that he calls his dad "father".  Neto doesn't back down.  He hopes that Robert gets used to it because he has come to love his father and all of his family. He hopes that some day he and Robert can be allies; maybe not brothers,  but friends. Robert excuses himself and leaves.

Ari and Temo are at the staircase. Temo sees it as a special place because that is where they hugged each other for the first time.  Yes, Ari remembers. Temo  hands Ari a clue to what is coming tonight. It is his final gift. It is a small grand piano he can hold in the palm of his hand.

Eduardo comes to visit Polita all upset over Imelda banning his entrance into the building. Polita tells him there are no more worries and recounts Imelda's visit and apology.  They hug and then Eduardo steps back and asks Polita if he is a part of her plans and decisions. She says of course. He is in her most important plans. They kiss.

Temo tells Ari to open  the piano which turns out to be a box.  Temo hopes he likes what is inside. It is a gold ring. The boys just stare at each other.

Eduardo asks Polita if the first kiss was bad. Polita says not at all. It was lovely.  Polita explains that up until now she had only been kissed by one man but now that has all changed. She never thought she would have a second chance at love.  When she got her divorce, she decided to concentrate on her children and on bettering herself as a woman.  Eduardo says being in love will not mean she will stop caring for her children.  He sees himself as "reinforcements" to help her out.  Polita smiles when Eduardo says he loves her in the most selfless way possible.  Eduardo pledges to defend whatever makes her happy.

Back at Blanca's, Robert is telling Julieta, Blanca and Imelda about being at the sauna when the "famous" Neto showed up.  Julieta says how "nice" it was for him to meet Neto as Robert makes a face.  Julieta hopes to meet him soon. Julieta changes the topic telling Robert that she has noticed that Dave has been a little strange.  Blanca thinks it is because they asked him not to say anything about Eugenio's illness to Robert an Julieta. She apologizes for putting him in that position but they wanted to tell them in person.

Ari takes and looks at the ring. Temo takes it back and gets down on one knee to tell Ari his "proposal."  Ari starts to smile.

Dave finally comes out of the washroom. He is crying about his scar and being ugly.  Robert and Julieta hug him.

Ari asks Temo is he is proposing marriage to him.  Temo says no. This is a promise ring; a promise that there will never be any distance between their hearts. Just like the ring is an endless circle, their love will never end.  Their love is infinite. No matter what happens Ari will have this ring on his hand and will remember that somewhere in the universe there is a man who loves him with his whole soul who would give his life for him. Ari accepts. It is a promise. Temo puts the ring on his finger. Ari swears that one day he will give Temo a ring, too, and it will mean something else and more plans for the two of them.

Julieta and Robert try to talk logically to Dave about his scar.  Dave is not his scars. Dave is tired of having to explain his scar to everyone. He is afraid Lupita is going to like someone without a scar more than him.  Robert thanks God that Dave survived and is healthy and reminds him of the kids in Africa who had much more serious burns than he.  Dave tells Robert that he has learned a lot of things. He can heal him completely. He wants Robert to take his scar away.

Axel and Linda arrive at Susana's campout in the garden hand in hand.  Axel tells Susana, Pancho and Crisanta that he loves Linda and wants to spend the rest of his life with her.  Susana  looks unhappy until Pancho tells her that sometimes love makes the decision for us. Love ends up having the last word. Crisanta smiles and Susana agrees that she will support their relationship and hugs them both.

At Blanca's, Frida appears in her costume for her presentation at school.  She has on a white wig and mustache. She is Eugenio Córcega.

At Neto's over supper,  the twins  talk about Frida no longer being their cousin. Yolo tells them if one of them ends up with Frida the other will have to accept his decision.

Blanca explains the graduation activity where all of the kids have to disguise themselves as somebody important.  Eugenio is the most important person for Frida. Frida gives her whole presentation. It is all about family and taking advantage of their time together.  When it is over, Eugenio hugs her and they all applaud.

At the jail, the detective informs Guido that his court case will be starting tomorrow. He leaves him with his lawyer so they can plan his defense.

Nonno comes to see Imelda. He feels his heart is destroyed and doesn't think he will ever be able to come back after this matter with Guido.

Polita is happy at home ironing when Ari comes in happy, too. They sigh in unison and ask who sighed. They laugh. He shows her the ring. She hopes they are not getting married  so young. Ari says no.  It is like a promise ring. Ari sees them always being  together.  Polita would be happy if they did get married eventually but they need to wait a few years.  Ari asks why she was sighing. Polita for once feels full of hope.  Ari knows that Eduardo is a good man and wants her to be happy with whomever she chooses.

Imelda and Nonno talk about their families. Imelda  says she had to overcome her ex-husband's cheating. The truth of the matter is that she never did so completely  She couldn't forgive him until he finally died. Sometimes, you just need the passage of time.   Nonno cannot even conceive that his own grandson has been capable of causing so much suffering.  How could there be such evil in his own family? Suddenly, Audifaz comes in and needs to have a serious talk with Imelda.

The Oppa's are all in their matching pajamas! Julieta is lecturing Dave on how inner beauty is the important thing with people. Dave does not agree. He is going to grow up and people are still going to ask about his scars. He knows that his father is the best doctor and he has helped out a lot of kids. He asks Robert to operate on him and get rid of his scar.  Robert gives in on the spot and agrees.  He will operate on Dave. Julieta is left in shock with what she just heard Robert say.

Comments:
I really felt sorry for Robert. Things aren't the same at home with his parents and never will be. On the other hand, I was happy that Neto was not dissuaded by Robert's luke warm reception. The more hands available to help Eugenio the better.

Ari and Temo were just as cute as ever.

I cannot wait to see how Julieta is going to confront her job issue with Susana. If Julieta can keep her new found cool, she will have the upper hand.

Whoopsie! it looks like Robert hasn't broken his bad habit of making major decisions without consulting with Julieta. I think we have seen that disgusted look face on Julieta before for the very same reason.

On we roll!

"disgusted look on Julieta's face before for the very same reason". now that is better!

Jarifa, thanks for another great recap. Lots of great stuff and most things being wrapped up nicely. But telenovela tension never ends, not even for a single episode. We now have the Robert/Neto rivalry, and the twins' rivalry over Frida, a regular 13 year old Helen of Troy.

And poor Dave, agonizing over his scars and afraid of losing Lupita, the 7 year old Flor de Oaxaca. It's an old, old story. Wasn't there a song about this? Something like, "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Seven Year Old." Well, something like that.

:-)

Great recap, Jarifa. It will be interesting to see how Julieta confronts Susana about her job.

I felt bad for Neto, getting pretty much a cold shoulder from Robert. Well, bedtime, maybe I'll comment some more tomorrow.

Jarifa: Julieta vs Susana should be very interesting.

Jarifa, smart, sassy and savvy. You've done it. Again. Loved the title.

"Polita smiles when Eduardo says he loves her in the most selfless way possible" - lovely.

I had to smile at “Robert is careful to control his negative reaction to the situation”. I think it took every fiber of his being to control himself. Perhaps it is just me, but there seemed to be a bit of chest puffing – perhaps Robert was thinking his muscles might expand like Neto’s. Robert is my favorite character and you could just see the little boy not wanting to share a moment of his father’s attention. The jealousy mirrored his reaction to Pancho being close with his mother. There was likely more but I must confess I was transfixed by Neto and must confess I was hoping for a towel malfunction. Sigh…

Julieta has never looked lovelier or seemed happier. Until of course Robert's agreeing to do Dave's surgery. I'm trying to remember why he hadn't done it before. It seems long overdue. My brother has a scar that required many plastic surgeries when he was a child. Although covered for years, it is the emotional scar that never healed. How Dave is acting seems truly "real".

“Julieta is angry and asks how Pancho López could become a vice president of a company”. Yeah, well Julieta it has crossed our minds as well. I can think of no earthly reason Susana won't give Julieta her job back. I'm sort of surprised Pancho hasn't voluntarily stepped aside but we've seen that he can be a bit selfish at times so...

I'm not sure where Guido's story is going...

...Frida, a regular 13 year old Helen of Troy" was great andy. Laughed at your entire comment.

Jarifa and Cynthia, I think Neto will be a great ally for Robert, especially as you noted the more help Eugenio has, the better Jarifa.

I was so happy to see Polita and Eduardo will be together. She deserves someone who will accept everyone as they are. Oh, and someone who actually knows how to work and holds down a job. Ack.

Lots to enjoy last night, even more to savor this morning. Thank you Jarifa!!

Diana

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa!

Hip replacement went well, I'm home, and on the road to recovery.

Ooh, gratuitous shower scene with a shirtless Neto!

Diana - I saw Robert puffing out his chest, too! I had to rewind and watch again, to make sure it was not my pain pills playing tricks on me. That was funny.

Robert reacted to Pancho the same way he is reacting to Neto.

Looks like Polita will end up with Eduardo, and I'm hoping she does. At least he is employed.

Thanks for the great recap Jarifa. It was a great episode if at times a little 'choppy'.

Love the reactions of both Robert and Julie to their 'rivals' Neto and Pancho. For Robert it was like 'who is this guy?' And Julie, 'You're kidding me, Pancho has my old job?! Pancho??!!

Imelda is doing her best to repair bridges but it's hard to fully believe she has had a complete conversion on the road to Damascus.

Temo is much needier than Ari but Ari is being a good sport about it.

Linda, well it's Linda.

I guess we have 4 or 5 more hours.

Welcome back doris!!

So glad your surgery went well. I hope your recovery goes quickly!

I'm so glad there was a "gratuitous shower scene with a shirtless Neto" to welcome you home! :)

Diana

Wow Jarifa, very philosophical title. I know there was some Greek philosopher who said you can never step in the same river twice, but with this teflon brain of mine, no longer remember who it was. [Wow and was that ever a run-on sentence!]

Loved this:

"Polita expresses that Imelda hurt her very deeply, but she does forgive her because she only wants to look ahead and not back"

That is the crux of forgiveness. Living in the present and making a better future. I love how these often silly telenovelas hammer home that important message. Of course living it out is a bit harder. But definitely worth the effort. (Judy, still huffing and puffing with the effort).

Andy, you're a riot. Yeah, Lupita as Helen of Troy. Perfect.

Doris, a woman after my own heart. Loved the sauna scene. More of that please!

Thanks Jarifa. Another great recap with lots of important details.

Have a great day everyone. Beautiful here. Hope it is in your corner of the world as well.

Thank you, Jarifa.

Onward we go.

Diana, "towel malfunction" ..ha. You are spicy this morning .

Doris, glad that surgery is behind you and that you are now on the road to recovery. Time to rest and besl. Best wishes for a very speedy and complete recovery.

70 and sunny here today.

doris, welcome back! I am so happy to hear that your surgery went well. Just in case you didn’t know this finishes off with a 2 hr gran final on Monday night 6-8 Central time. I am sooo glad that Polita is leaving Audi behind. One happy ending and hoping for many others.

Diana, I will have go back to look for Robert’s chest puffing. That is too funny but in keeping with his character as you noted re Pancho and Blanca. When I think of him, I always have to remember what his wicked Auntie Ana did to him and the family in season one which makes me feel sorry for the whole Córcega lot. As for Cklass, one would think that Pancho would step aside, but you are right that he does have selfish streak.

Steve, I cannot wait for the confrontation.

Cynthia, yes, Neto did handle the “cold shoulder” with class though but I felt bad for him, too.

Andy, “a regular 13 year old Helen of Troy” says it all! Loved it!

Sunny and mid sixties today! Perfection!

Anon, there were several scenes where they just kept the “kernel” so to speak and beginnings, endings, niceties were chopped. Nothing of importance though except for the one scene I included in parentheses. Yes, it is hard to believe Imelda has completely changed. We have 6 hours left. Double episode on 15th 6-8 central time.

JudyB, forgiveness was a major theme in the first season of this , too, with Auntie Ann and her abduction and desertion of Robert.

Susanlynn, Diana does have a way with words, doesn’t she? It looks like a good day to get outside.

Jarifa - IIRC Robert was puffing his chest up and out right before or after he shook hands with Neto in the steam bath. Subtle but it was there and so funny.

Imelda's redemption . . .nice to see, doesn't always happen in real life, but this is telenovelaland and our beanie hats are firmly in place.

Yes, forgiveness seems to be a theme in this TN and I think it is a good one for real life. When a person is truly repentant and is turning their life around to become a better person, forgiveness should be freely given. Of course trust may be an issue, so even with forgiveness, a person may have trouble trusting that person they have forgiven. But letting go of grudges is a good thing and a burden to get off your back.

I too think Pancho should do the right thing and step aside for Julieta to take her job back.

Fast forwarded through Linda and Axle’ scenes,! Who cares... At first I was ok with Temo....now, not so much. He’s so needy. They r both so
young.....I know it’s young love, but there’s a whole world out there for both of boys. New people,e, new partners. I guess I’m an old dinosaur but slow down kids........Lil Frida was so amazingly perfect in her hero portrayal. Her momma on the tour is missing out so much!

Doris, I'm glad to hear your operation went well, hopefully you'll be out dancing again soon.

Diana, "hoping for a towel malfunction. Sigh…" Tsk, tsk, tsk, Diana.

I am so tired of soapy, sappy, silly Ari and Temo. It was OK at first, but enough already. I would much rather watch Linda and Axel, or even, gulp!, Nonno and Imelda. (Oh, just shoot me.)

Anyway, looking forward to tonight.

andy

Excellent recap, Jarifa. Grow up, Robert! You're old enough and smart enough to understand why you have resented Pancho and now Neto. And what happened to the termites?

Jarifa, thanks so much for the excellent recap, including the description of the deleted scene. I wish they didn't trim things -- it does make the show feel choppy and is a disservice to the actors and writers. Oh well.

I agree that it was funny to see Robert puffing out his chest -- he did it at the very end of that scene too. Hopefully he won't pull a Dr. Carlos and rush off to the gym next!

I know that Imelda's big change of heart is pretty unrealistic but I'm happy to see it nonetheless. I hope Audifaz follows suit, I think he will.

Suprised that Guido didn't repent when Nonno came to see him! I thought maybe his love for Yolo would turn him around. Looks as if he will be a villain to the end.

As for Ari and Temo -- I will be glad for them to actually go have some adventures in Mexico City instead of constantly talking, talking, talking and reaffirming their undying love for each other! I'm glad the show has this very accepting and understanding for gay relationships but how many times can they say the same thing?

By the way, I noticed that when Robert was having his heartfelt conversation with Julieta and the Canuto tree, the cinematographer framed the shot to leave out the giant wooden buttons on his sweater. Could be coincidence but I think the photographer realized that those buttons would add an odd comic effect to the scene so kept them out!

Loved everyone's comments as always and looking forward to tonight!

Lynne, aren't those buttons something? Talk about a bull's eye!!

And I wasn't sure if David's had them as well. Yup...

Your comment on Ari and Temo "...constantly talking, talking, talking and reaffirming their undying love for each other" was spot on. As our dear, greatly missed recapper and commenter Carlos used to say..."Next!". :)

Diana

Thank you Jarifa and Cynthia for all your hard work. I really, really appreciate it. I'd be lost without you.

Who shaves in a steam room!!! Isn't the mirror all frosted over!!

Temo is way too needy. The big buttons bother me too. I find myself being distracted by them.

I love this novella. I love watching Ari's little brother. When he is on I just watch him playing with his trucks. He has no idea he's a Star, well to me anyway. I love all the characters but he is my favorite.

Can't wait for Audifaz's talk with his mother tonight.

MaryKat
