Primetime on Univision (#1): Week of April 22, 2019

Greetings, Caraymates!

Welcome to page 1 of Primetime TNs/Series which are not being covered by recappers. It’s your sandbox where you can gather to discuss, critique, snark, or just plain talk about your favorite or not-so-favorite characters, scenes, dialogues, wardrobe or whatever else you can think of. Everyone is welcome to join in the conversations. Highlights, summaries, or details of scenes/episodes are encouraged; those will be appreciated immensely by all. Questions about scenes or conversations that may have been confusing or too fast are also welcome. We’ll try to answer promptly and to the best of our ability…and memory J. TNs covered by this page are:
  • 9-10PM – La Rosa de Guadalupe
  • 8-9PM   – La Reina Soy Yo (Starting May 13th)
As with other discussion pages for more than one TN, please identify the TN you are commenting on to avoid confusion and so readers can easily find the conversations they are looking for, especially after La Reina Soy Yo starts.
Discussion pages will be posted on Mondays and Thursdays at 10PM.
Have fun, Patio Peeps…let’s start talkin’!

I saw a promo yesterday about a bioseries on Silvia Pinal that is coming "Muy Pronto" to Univision. Alexander, do you have a date on that for us?

That was shown after MMTMF in Mexico before DF.

Thanks, Jarifa. It's only 21 episodes and there is a short write up about it on the current "Proximas." page. I'm interested in seeing how some of the iconic stars like Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete and Libertad Lamaraque will be portrayed. My mother lived for their movies...and I wasn't far behind. Those two men could swoon me right out to the beyond with them...beautiful voices and very good on the eyes.

SPFAT will let u know. LRSY starts Monday May 13, at 8p_7c.

Thanks, Alexander. I'll be on the look out...and thanks for the reminder about LRSY.

RgvChick, sounds like some wonderful memories. What a career Sílvia Pinal has had! I like that they did this series while she is still alive. IMO, there are too many bio series these day prompted by a star’s death. After seeing the first episode, I hope I have some time to catch more when it is shown here.

I'm sorry I didn't have the privilege of seeing her early work. All I have in my mind when I hear her name is "Helmet Head" as Tia Isabel in Soy Tu Duena. Waiting for Amar a Muerte to begin, I saw clips of her in MMTMF and was rather glad I hadn't started watching it. She still reminded me of "Helmet Head." Hope it shines new light on her for me.

"LA REINA":

RGV Chick: I'm looking forward to seeing Michelle Renaud as the leading Protagonista here getting her revenge on the guy, who destroyed her life.
