Good afternoon everyone. I wonder what evilness Don Luis, Buji Suzy & Nagging Vanessa have cooking up today ?

Tenías Que Ser Tú

Rgv Chickie, I, too, watch this in spurts, mostly interested in Amanda and her antics. She did not manage to grab the money, but when Ezequiel started talking to Amanda's spirit, telling her they would donate the money to the Church it was just too much for her and she walked in on him to tell him she wanted the money. It was a funny scene, he didn't want to believe she was alive and was frightened that she "came back" to life. Eventually he calmed down and then got disgusted with her and told her off. His kids came in then and Amanda told them she had come not just for the money but to be part of their family. They all rejected her and she left with the money in the mattress cover. Leaving she said something about the money like "I hope it's all here" and they all but kicked her out. Leaving she said something like "Well, pardon me for not being dead."

Very funny scene. Later she dropped in on Marbella, who made a cross with her fingers as if to ward off a vampire, but I didn't get what they briefly said before the episode ended.

Today, Thursday, she was with the family and some other really gorgeous woman (possibly the woman from whom Amanda stole the money?) and they threw her out, without the money. I hope you saw this because I'm not sure what happened there.

And then we were rudely interrupted by the president. I honestly don't know why they cover these speeches. Certainly immigration policy is very important to millions of people, but how many are watching Univision at 2 PM?

FLOR

So sorry to be late. Trekked into Boston for a medical meeting which took me all day.

Loved the recap Rgv Chick.

Your writing and detailing continue to be extraordinary.

You have humanized these characters into lovely shades of gray. Not all black, nor all white. Tints of humanity and inhumanity.

I’m going to pretend I didn’t really read “they used to kill lizards in the orphanage…”. Dismaying cruelty from two who have good hearts.

Still, the fellowship continues, though a bit bruised.

“Mariana tells Aure that she wants him to tell her everything about Paris…and she wants details!” Big, big mistake. Be careful what you ask for.

I hope Marga does love her daughter though her exterior is cold and aloof.

Teo has no idea what he is in for! The truck painting was harmless enough but let's hope they leave it at that.

Excited and hopeful that I can watch a few episodes next week!

Rgv Chick, thank you for keeping this "alive" for us. We are so appreciative.

Ep 39: Part 1 Charges and Counter Charges

Trump trumped the first few minutes ARGHH! Today started with Lino going into the orchard and telling Zackrat that the trees needed more fertilizer, but Zackrat wants to save Don L some money so no more fertilizer. When Lino tells the men that Zackrat is the new foreman, they can’t believe it so Lino assures them that Zackrat is their new boss and they will have to obey him. Lino then warns Zackrat that he’d better not mess with his project since Don L approved it. After Lino leaves, Zackrat smirks as he says that the little rooster will have to be taught how to obey.

At the clinic, Beto tells Marina that they’ve done their duty in bringing Doc Mask to the hospital, but Marina refuses to leave until she knows how Doc is. The nurse then comes out to tell them that Doc had a heart attack as a result of the assault. Before they leave, Marina provides contact info of the person they can contact about Doc.

Zackrat goes running to Don L to complain about Lino, but Don L tells him to allow Lino to complete his project. Zackrat then wonders if Dami is threatening him with identifying her attackers. After Don L assures him that Dami hasn’t said anything, he adds that if she accuses Zackrat, she accuses him too.

Dami goes in to see Pru and return the earrings. Pru wants her to keep them, but Dami wants her to keep them in case she decides to give them to her daughter.

Agents arrive at Doc’s house with a subpoena to appear before the court. Immediately afterwards, Ramona gets the call from the hospital.

Marina and Beto are on their way back to the ranch. Marina tells Beto that is why she didn’t want to tell him anything; she knew he would want to seek justice on his own. She then adds that hitting is not going to change what happened to her…and she knows Beto will never look at her in the same way. She feels dirty and tarnished. When Beto reminds her that Doc forced himself on her, Marina admits that she really doesn’t know how it happened; Doc sedated her.

Ramona runs into the hospital to see Doc…she is the most important person in Doc’s life (juarever!). Ramona enters Doc’s room. When she asks who did this to him, Doc replies that it was Beto…they need to arrest him. Marina must have told him something because he came at him without mercy…like a crazy man. Neither Marina nor anyone else did anything to help him. Ramona thinks Beto should turn his anger toward Marina who pretends to be so innocent…Ramona saw them!

Beto is furious and wants Doc to spend the rest of his life behind bars. Marina felt the same way, but now she can’t be close to Beto because she feels so ashamed. Beto assures her that he loves her more than ever. Marina sobs as she tells Beto that it was the worst hours of her life. She can still hear Doc telling her how she loved him…she can still smell him. Beto asks her to forget about it, but Marina can’t...she wants to die and rip all traces of Doc from her skin. She wonders why this had to happen to her…she thought Doc loved her as a daughter. Marina feels horrible and doesn’t know what to do; she never gave Doc any reason to do something like this to her. Beto swears that he is going to make Doc pay for what he did. Marina then cries that she can’t even tell her mother because she doesn’t want her feeling her pain and anguish. When Marina comments that she would have never gone to Doc if she had known that he had those feelings for her and that it was his father who took her to him, Beto tells her that his father will have to pay too, but Marina doesn’t want Beto to tell his father anything; she doesn’t want anyone else to know what happened to her. Beto agrees…if that is what she wants, but he will make sure Doc is imprisoned.

Ep 39: Part 2 Charges and Counter Charges

Ramona is about to leave when she remembers to give Doc the envelope that was delivered. When Doc sees that Marina filed charges against him, he now thinks that it was a good thing Ramona saw them; she can declare in favor of him.

Baldo gets home and tells Tori that Yola had the audacity to ask him to step aside and give Mago a chance. If Mago didn’t take the opportunity when he had it, it’s now too late for him (Mago). Tori then tells him that Dami went by there to pick something up and Mago was with her. Baldo decides to go to the ranch and tells Tori to stay there. After Baldo leaves, Tori goes out the back way.

Angsty enters Pru’s bedroom as Pru is looking at the earrings. Angsty thinks Pru should give them to Marina on a special day…her birthday. She suggests that Pru can plan a party and present Marina as her daughter too. Pru agrees and hopes that Don L will attend.

Marina and Beto return. When Beto leaves, Dami asks Marina what is wrong since she knows her very well and can tell that she is sad. Dami tells her that despite all the problems in the world, there is always something to fight for in this life and be happy. Dami then leaves to get Marina some soup.

Lino goes to the kitchen and asks Angsty to give Vanesa a message without Su finding out. When Angsty reminds him that he was going to look for love elsewhere, Lino tells her that no one can rule their heart.

Baldo returns to his home and talks himself into calming down; neither Mago nor Dami will betray him.

Ramona goes to the court to inform them that Doc won’t be able to show up because he is in the hospital.

Su orders Vanesa to try to get close to Don L. As they argue, Angsty enters with a pitcher of water and slips Lino’s message to Vanesa.

Lino is in the workroom waiting for Vanesa who never arrives. She was going to go but Su entered the bedroom and wanted to go outside with Vanesa.

The agents go talk to Doc who denies assaulting Marina. She went to his house of her own accord and if she was with him, it was because she wanted it. He doesn’t understand why Marina wants to get him in trouble. When he tells them that they should go after the person who attacked him, the agents suggest that he file charges,

Dami and Angsty are talking when Tori arrives with flowers for his little princess. Beto tells him he can take them to Marina. Tori enters as Marina sleeps. Beto sits beside his beautiful wife as he tells her he loves her. After Tori turns and catches sight of a picture, he freaks out and recalls his hunt for ducks with Don L. Beto hears him and guides him out as Tori tells him it is the devil. He runs out of the ranch crying and yelling.

The agents arrive at the ranch and ask Don L for Beto. Beto shows up and takes the agents to another room where they tell him that Doc is accusing him of assault. Beto doesn’t deny hitting Doc; he even took him to the hospital. The agents tell him that he needs to present himself at the court.

Pru asks Luis what is going on; so he tells her that some agents arrived asking for Beto. Pru wants to go to him as Marina approaches. As Marina tells Pru that she wants to go to Beto also, Don L motions to Pru to take Marina out of the room. Afterwards, Don L calls Zackrat and tells him not to allow the agents to leave until he talks to them.

After the agents leave Beto, Marina asks him what is going on; so Beto tells her about Doc filing charges against him. Marina worries because everyone saw him hitting Doc.

MIRADA
Ep 39: Part 3 Charges and Counter Charges

Outside Don L asks the agents why they are looking for his son. The agents refuse to give him details, but after some insistence, they finally tell him about Beto’s assault on Doc.

Dami and Baldo are out taking a walk. Baldo is feeling insecure since Mago is now after her. Dami assures him that she is a woman of her word; she is with him now and she expects them to grow old together. She then tells him to stop acting like a teenager; they are way past that age.

Lino goes looking for Vanesa and tells her that he kept waiting for her…he will always wait for her. Vanesa tells him that he will keep on waiting.

Beto goes to the court to give his statement. When Marina wants to go in with him to give a statement too, the officer insinuates that she won’t be able to give good info, but Marina insists that despite her blindness, she can report what happens around her.

Su asks Don L why Beto attacked Doc. As Don L tells her that he doesn’t know, Pru comes in and asks what they are talking about. Don L responds that they are talking about her son…and another strike against her blind girl. Su interjects that because of that woman, Beto attacked Doc; and Don L adds that Beto could end up in jail since Doc will accuse Beto of assault.

RGV Chick: Does Beto known that Marina was NOT raped by Creepy Doc ?

MIRADA

Steve - nobody knows what really happened, except Creepy Doc Nut Job. We believe nothing happened..

Rgv Chick - thank you for your recap. I will have to watch this tomorrow.

Darn, I hate that charges have been brought up against Beto. Grrr.....! 👿

"Zackrat smirks as he says that the little rooster will have to be taught how to obey."
Ugh. This is what happens when weasels like Zackrat get a little bit of power. 😛.

Can we start a petition to cell phone manufacturers to add an anvil emoji?

FLOR
Ep 23: Part 1 Superstitions, a Doubting Tomas, and a Meddling Mama

Chile tells Flor that Val is there; and spray painting the truck was Val’s idea. Flor can’t believe that Chile would blame everything on a dead man and tells Chile to assume responsibilities for his actions. As she starts walking out, Val urges Chile to tell Flor all the intimate details he told him about; so Chile spurts out several of the details to Flor. She turns around shocked that he would use information that Val probably told him about when he was alive to try to force her into talking to him. When Chile tells her that she can ask him anything, Flor asks him to leave her and Teo alone. She walks out.

Outside Teo wants to know what Chile told her, but Flor only tells him that it didn’t make sense. Inside, Chile tells Val “I told you so.” Val apologizes, but he isn’t going to give up; he needs to use any skills he has as a dead man to get rid of Teo.

Most of the townspeople are at Carmen’s funeral. Father Elpi is preaching that they shouldn’t be led by superstitions, but the HTT ladies, Tere and Jovita, that think they are next to die and fear leaving all their loved ones behind; so they want Father Elpi to give them a blessing later. Father asks Flor to hold the bible for him because his assistant didn’t show up. Meanwhile, Tito (the assistant) is home drinking and singing a love-done-me-wrong song. Irza asks him what he is doing and wonders if it’s because Flor came back with Teo. Tito doesn’t think Teo is good enough for Flor and doesn’t deserve her; he wonders what Teo has that he doesn’t have.

At the funeral, Father asks if anyone would like to say some words about Carmen. Jovita refuses to get near the grave for fear of falling in; so a young girl starts to talk about Carmen. As she talks, Father Elpi whispers to Marga that they have a pending conversation, but Marga doesn’t think that this is the appropriate time. As they argue, Oscar is trying to listen. When Marga tries to leave, Father pulls her back. She loses her balance and grabs on to Father; they both fall into the grave!

At the funeral home, Val is trying to make a glass move when Chile remembers that he has to be at the funeral; so he runs over to the cemetery. Now out of the grave, Father is giving the blessing when a phone rings. Oscar realizes it’s coming from the casket. Someone suggests that they open the casket, but Chile warns them that if they open the casket, the gases will escape and Carmen won’t get to heaven.

Chile gets to the funeral home yelling out to Val. He has to get out of town because the people hate him…Carmen had a really bad smell. Val tells him to wait because he has figured out how to win Flor back. When Chile insists that he has to leave, Val tells him that he will take him to a place where no one will look for him.

Marga is stomping away from the cemetery when Jovita and Tere catch up to her. They know how she feels since they also fell into a grave. They think that ever since Val died, there has been no peace in the town…though Flor is now seeing Teo and that is good. Marga tells them that she doesn’t run away from anyone or anything, she doesn’t give a hoot about superstitions, and Flor can do whatever the heck she wants since she is a widow. Tere explains that they are nervous about being next to die; she then realizes that sit was the priest who fell into the grave and he has no sins… that might end the curse.

FLOR
Ep 23: Part 2 Superstitions, a Doubting Tomas, and a Meddling Mama

Chile goes to the casino as Val follows him and tells him that his plan can’t fail.

Lola tells Flor that Octi wants her to stay at her house. When she tells Flor that she feels awkward about it, Flor reassures her and tells her that she thinks it is a great idea. Lola then mentions that she will have to pay Octi rent; Flor, however, tells her that he can’t do that. Flor will go talk to Octi and resolve everything.

Chile is playing a game of cards as Flor enters the casino and asks to talk to Octi. They go into Oci’s office, and Flor tells Octi that she can’t do anything about Lola working there, but she can do something about him trying to charge her rent. When Octi reminds her that the house is house, Flor insists that house remains legally hers.

Father Elpi and Oscar are having coffee at a café. Father wonders if the superstition is true. When Oscar wonders what Father is afraid of, Father tells him that they all have something to fear…they all have secrets. Meanwhile, Marga is telling Teo that she doesn’t want to die yet; children always need their mother. Teo agrees and worries about the superstitions of the town. Just then Flor approaches and ask for Rose. As Marga also wonders about Rose since she didn’t show up for the funeral, Xochitl runs in followed by her parents. Marga is happy to see Xochitl and tells her that she shouldn’t have run away…if she is not happy living with her parents, she can come stay with her. After Xochitl mentions that her parents are not separating, Flor follows Marina into the kitchen and asks what she is doing…is she going to live a lie until Xochitl grows up? Mariana understands what Flor is trying to tell her, but she won’t let Xochitl suffer…she will put up with anything to see her daughter happy.

Father and Aure walk outside and talk about Aure’s marital problems. Father tells Aure to have faith in God; he will have to work hard to convince Mariana that he is truly sorry. When Aure mentions that he never thought he would lose everything at 28 years of age, Father is taken aback that Aure is that age. He recalls how Marga told him that he left her at the worst time…and now has doubts that Aure is his son.

Agustin, the goon, tells Octi that Aure has returned to town. Octi wonders if Aure is going to come see him.

Xochitl is eating at the table while Marga and Teo watch her. Marga thinks it’s a pity that Flor has to be concerned about someone else’s child (hint, hint Teo!). Teo smiles and responds that Flor loves her niece very much. Marga insists that people love their own children even more…and Flor is more than ready to have a family. When Flor approaches, Xochitl tells her that she needs to hurry and have a baby so she can have a cousin. Aure then gets there and tells Mariana that he talked to the priest and he is insisting that both of them go meet with him. Xochitl then suggests that they have a party to celebrate that her parents will be together…forever. The doorbell rings and Aure goes to see who it is. Octi’s goons grab him and take him away.

At the church, Father is going through the baptismal records and sees that Aure was baptized a year afterwards (his alleged birthday??).

At the casino, Val is helping Chile so he can win. Once Chile wins, Val tells him that they should leave. As Chile walks away talking to Val, Tito looks at him like he’s going bonkers.

FLOR
Ep 23: Part 3 Superstitions, a Doubting Tomas, and a Meddling Mama

Father Elpi goes to Oscar and tells him that he needs to see Aure’s birth certificate…since he is going to be counseling Aure and needs to get some information. Oscar tells him that the documents are confidential and can’t just hand them over. When he questions why Father would need them just to counsel Aure, Father tells him to forget it.

The goons are beating on Aure as Octi tells him that he was warned about messing around with the casino girls. Meanwhile, Flor is trying to get Mariana to stop sacrificing herself and lying to Xochitl, but Mariana refuses to tell Xochitl the truth.

Val and Chile go to Flor’s house. Chile gets the hidden key and they enter. When Val tells Chile to leave all his winnings for Flor, Chile complains that he should at least get a commission since he is broke. Val insists that he leave all the money since he left Flor with so many debts. After Val mentions that he wants Flor to know that he is helping her, Chile wonders who will be helping him since everyone in town thinks he is the black stench in town. Val assures him that not everyone thinks that…he teases Chile as he emphasizes that Marga won’t think he is the black stench. As they exit the house, Nestór approaches Chile and tells him to accompany him to the station.

Oscar and Rose arrive at Marga’s house. As Rose clings to Oscar, she tells Teo that they are there to celebrate Xochitl’s return.

At the casino, Paris finishes her number and runs to Octi to give him a hug. She is happy that everyone loves her. He then tells her not to stay in the casino and to go to her room...it will make people want to see her more if she makes herself scarce. Paris agrees that stars can’t be walking around like common people. After she leaves, Octi asks Agustin, his goon, about Sami’s whereabouts, but Agustin doesn’t know. Meanwhile, Sami gets into a car and meets with a lawyer. She wants half of everything Octi has. After the lawyer assures her that she will get everything she wants, Sami thinks she is starting to like him.

Father Elpi goes to Oscar’s house. The doors are locked so he tries to pick the locks. He tells God that if the doors don’t open, he’ll take it as a sign that he shouldn’t enter. If the doors open, then he’ll know that God is giving him permission to enter. Once inside, Father feels like Dimas, the good thief, but there are things that he must know...like Doubting Tomas.

At Marga’s house, Mariana is upset that Aure has not come back; she thinks he is with Paris. Flor assures her that Aure has learned his lesson and he probably has a good excuse.

At the police station, Nestor tells Chile that not preparing a body the correct way is a crime. Chile will have to serve community service.

At Marga’s house, as everyone waits for Aure to arrive, Flor asks Oscar and Rose to tell them how they got together…what was it that sparked their relationship. Rose urges Oscar to tell them how he sweettalked her, but Marga suggests that they tell them later since they are not interested in them. Marga then turns to Flor and Teo and tells them that it’s about time they got together. It turned out well that her husband hung up his shoes…Flor now realizes that Teo is the man who suits her best. Flor is shocked with mouth wide open, but Marga continues that they wasted so many years being friends. They are not at an age where they should be having a long, drawn out relationship. She wants an answer right now…when are they going to get married?

MIRADA

Rgv Chickie, thanks as always. I don't know how you do it; I don't know what I would do without it.

Poor Ramona, she has it bad for crazy Doc Mask. She is really wasting her life on that jerk. But Beto made a bad mistake beating up the guy, much as the doc deserved it.

Now poor Marina has yet another thing to worry about and she had quite enough before this. And poor Lino, poor Baldo, poor Toribio. Valle de bravo is getting to be a really gloomy place.

FLOR

I’ll begin by saying I just loved “Superstitions, a Doubting Tomas, and a Meddling Mama”. So clever and creative Rgv Chick.

“Father feels like Dimas, the good thief, but there are things that he must know...like Doubting Tomas” was superb.

“They are not at an age where they should be having a long, drawn out relationship”. Really??? Marga continues to be barely palatable.

“…he isn’t going to give up; he needs to use any skills he has as a dead man to get rid of Teo” made me smile. But, has Val thought beyond that? Val and Flor cannot reconcile and Flor will be left with no one.

“she won’t let Xochitl suffer…she will put up with anything to see her daughter happy”. I never understood why parents perpetuate a lie. It is so stressful. “…then suggests that they have a party to celebrate that her parents will be together…forever”. Children (usually) are pretty perceptive to the unspoken tension. And unhappiness.

I wonder how long Rose and Oscar are going to keep up their charade. Interesting that Marga seems to have little use for Rose (not that I blame her but she IS her daughter!)

I can't visualize the casino gals so am hoping to get a look at them next week so I can relate to more of that storyline.

Rgv Chick, thank you for another excellent recap…

Diana

MIRADA

Ugh. Haven't watched this yet and don't think I want to. So many awful things happening.

This is why I enjoy telenovela beginnings. Yes, there is dreadful stuff but you have the hope of better days to come. And come they do. But only after an interminable middle in which everybody suffers humiliation, betrayal, anxiety, false imprisonment, etc. Not fun!

Wish we could get Hallmark happy stories into the español market. I could still work on vocabulary but without wringing my hands and worrying about plot trends when I should be going to sleep.

Nevertheless, eternally grateful to our 24/7, needs-no-sleep recapper Rgv Chick, who keeps us up to date and informed no matter what. You're the best, lady!

TENÍAS QUE SER TÚ

Andy thanks for the details on how Amanda got the money. I think you’d make a great recapper! ;-)
I did see some of it yesterday; and yes, the pretty lady is from the family that Amanda stole the money from. In that scene where Amanda is with the family and the lady, Mirabella gave the money (or whatever was left over) to the lady; she also told the lady that Amanda would be signing over any properties she had purchased with the money. Amanda was not happy; but Mirabella reminded her that it was better than going to jail.

FLOR

Diana, sounds like you had a hectic day on Thursday; I hope you recovered from your day-long meeting in Boston.

I wasn’t pleased to hear that Val and Chile killed lizards either—poor little things! But then when you think about it, they are both con artists who have shown no remorse; thought they try to make up for it by helping others…so definitely shades of lots of gray!

“Val and Flor cannot reconcile and Flor will be left with no one. “ Can you please hammer that into Val? Oh, you might not, the hammer will probably go right through him (sigh).

“Children (usually) are pretty perceptive to the unspoken tension. And unhappiness.” Amen to that! In addition to that, Xochitl has just learned that she can get her way if she pushes the right buttons. Wrong move, Mariana!

I thought Marga was making some progress, but she really took several steps backwards last night. The woman has no filter or regard for her daughters’ feelings. Both Rose and Flor should just apologize to Mariana and walk out of the celebration.

MIRADA

Steve, no one other than Doc knows that he was not able to go through with the deed.

Doris, “I hate that charges have been brought up against Beto.” Me too! But c’mon, what did he expect? He beat the man half to death in the middle of the street surrounded by on-lookers. I can understand his rage, but he dug his own hole. I do, however, feel for Marina…this on top of everything else!

Andy, Ramona must be insane and quite desperate. Yes, she peeked through the crack, but it was only for a minute or so, then she ran off. I hope she is not crazy enough to exaggerate what she saw…but I fear she will ACCKK!

JudyB, I’m with you! Spanish Hallmark movies would be a treat after some of these storylines!

ITA with Judy and RgvChick on wishing for Hallmark movies in Español. But we would never learn such useful gems like "no puede ser!", "largate!" and " no me toques!"

This gives me a good idea to suggest them to my conversation students. No violence, no sex, just one or two kisses with no tongue, and a happy ever after, all in the course of two hours. They are more formulaic than telenovelas, Hubby and I have a list of the Hallmark Movie Rules. LOL

OT

Diana, I wrote this on the other thread, but was afraid you may not see it--

Reina Soy

Oh Diana, I do hope you change your mind about watching this. It's easy to catch up since the first episodes were the back story. The revenge is just about to start! Nd I'll help JudyB in answering questions :-)

Lucio left a nice mini-recap of last night's episode of Reina so Diana would have no problem. And it's on at 8 pm. A reasonable hour!

Ep 40: Part 1 Forked Tongues Raise Doubts

Beto is giving his statement and tells the investigator that Doc was fighting back and hitting him too. Marina adds that Doc is in the hospital because he has a history of heart problems and fainted during the fight. Beto then suggests that Doc’s injuries from the fight are not serious and can be verified in the medical report. He thinks that Doc’s complaint is a way of trying to get them to drop the charges. The investigator then tells them that there is a witness that indicated that the sexual relations Doc had with Marina were with her consent. Marina is shocked.

Su tells Vanesa that Beto has been charged with assault because he fought with Doc. Vanesa can’t believe it because Beto is not a violent person and would never fight in the street. Su comments that Marina has turned Beto into a different person. When Don L remarks that Beto was like a wild horse, Pru retorts that he shouldn’t be one to talk since he was the one who started the whole thing by taking Marina to Doc. Don L doesn’t regret it because he only took the blind one to the people she belongs with. Vanesa then wonders if Don L is going to let Beto go to jail; so Don L assures her that he won’t; he will call his lawyer. Pru gives him the phone, but he gives it to Su who asks Pru if she is still going to insist that the woman stay there after all the trouble she has caused. Pru tells her to shut up.

At the police station, Marina insists that she was sedated and doesn’t even realize when that man violated her. When the investigator reiterates that the witness says otherwise; Beto asks who the witness is and how much Doc paid the person to lie. When Beto asks for the doctor’s report on Marina, the investigator tells them it’s not ready yet. Beto then asks why the witness didn’t report hearing Marina yell out for help. When Marina emphasizes that she kept yelling out for help and no one else was there, the investigator stresses that that is not what the witness reported. He then suggests that Maria can drop her charges, but Marina will not do that. She is not going to be intimidated and demands justice.

Pru tells Angsty about Beto assaulting Doc and that he was charged for it.

In their bedroom, Vanesa tells Su that Beto couldn’t have done what they say. Su tells Vanesa to get ready because they are going to see Doc. Vanesa thinks that Don L will probably make a deal with Doc, but Su suggests that they can offer Doc their own deal. If Beto ends up in jail, that will leave Vanesa as the only person Don L will like…and he will leave Vanesa all his fortune.

Don L gets to the hospital as if he owns it and wants to know what room Doc is in.

Marina tells Beto that it had to be Ramona who testified; she can’t believe Ramona is covering up for Doc when she wasn’t even there…Doc told her they were alone. Beto and Mari go see Ramona who tells Marina that she was there and she saw them kissing…Doc didn’t take advantage of her. Marina asks why she is lying, but Ramona insists that she saw them. Ramona thought Marina was a nice girl until she saw her embracing Doc. Marina then asks why she didn’t help her when she cried out for help; so Ramona replies that she never called for help…Marina gave herself to Doc. When Marina calls Doc a rapist, Ramona yells back that she is very ungrateful since all Doc did was to help her and teach her.

Ep 40: Part 2 Forked Tongues Raise Doubts

Baldo and Dami finish their walk; so Baldo leaves her at the ranchhouse. When alone in the kitchen,
Zackrat comes in and surprises Dami who gets a knife to defend herself. She tells him that she and Marina are not alone anymore. Marina has a husband, she has her and she has Pru to defend her. Zackrat knows and adds that he also knows that Don L is not buying her story. He then tells her that he is now the foreman at the ranch…so they should be seeing each other around there.

Beto and Marina are walking in town when Beto wonders what exactly happened since she can’t remember anything. Marina wonders if he is doubting her word…she remembers everything Doc told her when he told her he desired her…she woke up naked in his bed. She tried to get out but she was locked in. When Marina reminds him that he had to knock down the door, Beto thinks that she might have been confused when his father took her there. She may have thought that it was like a refuge for her. Marina cries as she wonders what is wrong with him…he is insinuating that she provoked him. Beto is only trying to understand why Doc changed so much; so Marina explains that Doc changed when she told him that she had gotten married and had given herself completely to Beto. Marina is very offended as she cries and tells Beto to leave her alone; she walks off by herself.

Don L talks to Doc and tells him that he knows his injuries are not that serious. Doc reminds him that the fight provoked his heart malfunction. When Don L asks how much he wants to drop the charges against Beto, Doc reminds him that it isn’t money he wants…he wants Marina. Don L then tells Doc that he confirmed that Beto and Marina are married; and since Pru is convinced that Marina is her daughter, she is supporting the marriage. Doc thinks Pru’s perception will change when she finds out that Beto was not Marina’s first (man). After Don L laughs, Doc continues that when Don L took Marina to him, all he did was remind Marina of their history together with his hugs and kisses.

Beto catches up to Marina and explains that he is just trying to find something that will help them with the case. Marina won’t listen and tells Beto that she is going to go with Baldo.

Don L is amused because he always thought Doc’s relationship with Marina was platonic. Doc continues his sick lies and tells Don L that Marina would go to him every afternoon; and since he was helping her and Dami financially, Marina would compensate him with “that.” Don L relishes in all the lies. Doc suggests that Don L talk to his son and help him open his eyes; in return, Doc is willing to forgive Marina for everything…including the animosity with his son. When Don L asks him to drop the charges, Doc will think about it. Don L gets close to Doc and tells him that he can be a good ally; otherwise, the devil will appear to Doc.

Beto comes home and Pru tells him she knows about his assault on Doc. When she asks why he did it, he tells her he had his reasons.

Dami and Angsty talk. They comment on Zackrat being foreman and Don L forgiving Mago.

Marina is with Tori at the swing. He speaks to her about the calmness there and the birds singing. Marina thinks nature is beautiful and makes a person’s problems seem so small; she wishes her problems were just as small.

Beto calls Erick and gives him an update on everything. Erick knows that Don L must not be very happy.

Su enters Doc’s room. Doc doesn’t know them so Su tells them who they are…and he can count on them since they also want to break up Beto’s marriage. Vanesa is annoyed with what Su wants to do and leaves. When Su mentions the charges Doc brought against Beto, Doc assumes that she wants him to drop the charges, but Su tells him that it’s quite the contrary, she is there for herself...and in prison, Beto will have plenty of time to pay for falling in love with that woman

Ep 40: Part 3 Forked Tongues Raise Doubts

Dami goes to talk to Mago who confirms that Zackrat is the foreman…but not for long since Zackrat doesn’t know how to give orders and treats the workers badly. Mago then asks if Don L is going to accept Marina as his daughter; so Dami tells him that they are waiting for the test results. When Dami tells him that they will be going to the city afterwards and that Baldo will be going too, Mago comments that things must be serious between her and Baldo. Dami asks Mago if it is true that his interest in her awoke when he found out that she and Baldo were together. Mago responds that he spent many years adoring his wife’s memory and lost the opportunity to be with a good woman…there are things that they cannot and should not change.

Beto is having fits in his room because Baldo doesn’t answer his phone

Don L tells the ladies that he found out why Beto beat up Doc…Marina accused Doc of rape. Dami knew in her heart that something was wrong. Doc L retorts that when he ran Marina off his land, she went running straight into her lover’s arms…she may be blind, but she was having relations with the Doc…and Dami knew about it. Dami didn’t know about Doc’s obsession, but she tried to keep Marina away from him. When Pru suggests that they go report Doc, Don L tells them that Marina already filed charges, but it won’t get anywhere since she wasn’t raped…Marina gave herself to Doc. After Dami hisses that he doesn’t have a heart, Don L remarks that he only cares about getting his son of his problems…and that blind one does not have his blood.

Marina goes to the doctor and tells her what Ramona reported. Marina needs the results of the test so she can prove that what she is saying is true. Lady Doctor tells Marina that she doesn’t have the official report, but her preliminary findings show that there are no signs of violence. When she tells Marina that there were also no traces of sperm, she adds that Marina doesn’t have the evidence to support her accusation against Doc. When Lady Doc asks if she doesn’t remember anything, Marina tells her that she woke up half-naked and Doc told her he had made her his.

Su comes out of Doc’s room and tells Vanesa that she and Doc have a lot in common. She tells Vanesa that they will benefit most if Beto ends up in jail. Don L would not be able to stand having a son in jail and would disinherit Beto. When Vanesa points out that Don L will give Marina his last name, Su hisses that the only beneficiary would be Vanesa. They have to work on getting rid of Beto and Marina.

Pru tells Beto that Don L went to see Doc who told him that Mari had consented to being with him. Beto is repulsed that Doc continues with his lies and goes out to look for Don L, but Don L went out riding. Beto then goes to look for Marina at Baldo’s place.

Marina cries to Tori that justice will not be done. Tori tells her that when a door closes another will open. Mari cries as Tori tries to console her,

Su and Vanesa enter the ranch house and ask what is going on. Su asks them if the gossip is true…that Marin accuses Doc of rape. Pru insists that Doc took advantage of Marina’s trust in him. When Su comments that other things are being spread in town…that Marina would go to Doc’s office as an assistant, but her job was something else, Vanesa goes at Vanesa and tells Su to be quiet. When Dami defends Marina, Su tells her that she raised Marina and will never accept the truth. When Su adds that Marina met Beto and thought he would be a better suitor than Doc, Pru shouts at her as she reminds her that she is talking about her daughter.

Tori is walking Mari back to the ranch, but won’t go further because he is afraid to get closer to the ranch house. He has bad thoughts when he goes there. Tori gives Marina directions to the house and she goes off alone.

Ep 40: Part 4 Forked Tongues Raise Doubts

Beto asks Baldo if Marina is at his house; so Baldo tells him that Tori took her to the swing. Baldo then asks to talk to him…Marina needs his love and support right now; and his doubts are not helping her. Beto explains that he was only trying to get Maria to remember what happened. Baldo remarks that Beto needs to believe in Marina who needs his love.

Don L rides up to Marina and chides her for getting deep into Beto’s bones. She got Beto to marry her when Beto didn’t know she was a loose woman. He doesn’t believe that she is his daughter or that story that Doc raped her. He curses the day he met her and calls her a filthy blind girl.

Marina gets to Yola’s in tears because Don L already knows what Doc did to her. Marina sobs that Doc is saying that she was with him willingly. Ramona is lying and saying that she was with Doc because she wanted to be there. Marina worries that everyone will think the worst of her.

Erasmo goes into the kitchen and tells Angsty that Don L crossed paths with Marina while she was on her way to the ranch. He must have told Marina something really bad because Marina went to Mago’s house in tears. After Angsty leaved, Erasmo asks Horti what is going on, but Horti can’t say anything.

Pru calls the attorney who tells her he will do what he can for them. Angsty then enters and tells Dami and Pru that Marina is at Mago’s house.

Beto gets to the swing and calls out for Marina. He remembers how he talked Marina into being his girlfriend and some other intimate moments.

Another great recap, Rgv Chick, and perfect title. Thank you!

Pru telling Su to shut up was very satisfying. Why hasn't she sent Su home by now? That friendship is getting strained.

"If she sees that sweater she'll probly Want a blind fold." Oh Nina, you made me laugh because you are so right! Today's outfit looked spectacularly like an ensemble from GoodWill, which is in the Telenovela Rules. (No insult intended to GoodWill, who often have great stuff but telenovela heroines often have bad taste!)

However, I covet those brown lace-up boots Marina wears.

Thank heavens Baldo was The Voice of Reason to Beto today. (telenovela rules) I just love that man. Hopefully Damiana appreciates him.

Our cast of nasties:
Disgusting Doc Mask (I will never like this actor gain!)
Revolting Ramona (b*tch)
Loathsome Louse (the actor is relishing this role)
Sleazy ZackRat (ew! rodent!)
Selfish Susana (I have no words)
can all go jump off a bridge or eat rat poison. Whatever. Just do it.

FLOR
Ep 24: Part 1 Fools Don’t Always Rush In

Magda insists on getting an answer from Teo and Flor about a wedding date. Flor and Teo are totally uncomfortable. When Teo explains that they are taking it slow to see how things work out, Marga doesn’t like the modern ideas which only provoke a disrespect for traditional customs. Flor tells her that she already did things the right way and it didn’t turn out well. After Rose agrees with Flor, she turns to Oscar and asks if he is going to ask her to get married. Xochitl then asks Flor if she already forgot about Val (awkward!). Flor opts to leave the room.

Sami tells the lawyer that she needs to leave before Octi sends someone to look for her. The lawyer tells Sami that she will need to let her guard down and be calm and cooperative with Octi. He will need time to figure out what and how much Octi has.

Father Elpi is still looking around Oscar’s house. He looks through some drawers and is frustrated that he can’t find anything.

Aure calls Mariana looking all beat up and tells her that he will be there soon. When Mari asks where he is. he tells her he is looking into another job, but she doesn’t believe him. After she ends the call, Mariana tells Flor that Aure is not going to change. She is tired of the same story…this is going no where.

Lola is waiting tables at the casino and assures the dark haired casino girl that she will try hard to do things right.

Flor is alone as Val tries to get her to hear him. In the other room, Marga talks to Teo about the age difference between his father and Rose. Rose asks her not to talk about her as if she is not there and adds that age shouldn’t matter. Teo speaks up for Rose; he is very happy that his father found someone. Rose then tells Marga that maybe she should find herself a man. When Marga responds that she is past that age, Rose tells everyone that Marga sometimes goes out at night and is all dressed up. Xochitl asks if Marga has a galán. Just then Chile arrives and Marga wonders what he is doing there. When Chile tells them that he is there to see Marga, Marga fudges as she explains that she had told Chile that she needed to talk to him about some paintings. Rose thinks it’s strange that Marga had just asked what Chile was doing there. Chile then tells them that he is there to apologize for painting Teo’s truck. He keeps telling them that everything looks nice since they are together as a family. After Chile leaves, Xochitl is sad because her father is still not there.

Oscar gets home and sees things out of place. He looks around and finds the small stick Father Elpi used to break in.

Teo and Flor are washing dishes. Val is dismayed because Flor is all smiles and being so nice to Teo. Teo knows that they had agreed to take it slow, but he would marry her the next day if he could… they kiss. Val tells them they are moving too fast.

FLOR
Ep 24: Part 2 Fools Don’t Always Rush In

Val goes to the funeral home and looks for Chile. He then sees Aure who is all beat up and wonders what happened to him. Val remembers a time when he got beat up too…they seem to be in the same boat…suffering for a woman and alone.

Flor is at her home and finds a note from Lola telling her that she will be at the casino; it’s her first day of work. Meanwhile, Lola is still waiting tables and fumbling around…spilling drinks on customers. Octi takes her to a side and tells her that everything will be taken from her check. Lola retorts that if she could dance she could do much better, but Octi insists that her job is to wait tables.

Mariana is tucking Xochitl into bed when Xochitl wonders where her father is. She asks Mari to promise that she will always stay with her father and, in return, Xochitl will promise not to run away. Mari scolds her for trying to blackmail her into staying with Aure.

Chile is still at Marga’s house telling her that he just wanted to be with her so they could smooch…he just wants to talk to her. Marga tells him that they can’t talk there and takes him to her bedroom. They sneak past Rose who is taking an order by phone. Once in the bedroom, Rose calls out to Marga because she needs Goyita’s number. Chile hides under a table as Marga nervously tells Rose that she doesn’t have it. Rose notices that Marga doesn’t look well, so Marga tells her that she feels bad because Flor doesn’t mind her…she feels all alone…everyone hates her, but she feels better now. She thanks Rose for listening and pushes her out. Chile comes out from under the table and tells Marga that he is feeling down because everyone avoids him; they act as if he has a bad odor because of what happened at the funeral. Then he saw how she and her family were all together…Flor was with Teo and Rose was with Oscar. Chile now wants to formalize their relationship so that they don’t have to hide anymore, especially from her children.

Sami goes to Octi and tells him she was at church. She needs inner peace and wanted some time to think. She is tired of fighting with him all the time and wonders why they can’t speak without anger. Octi tell her that he doesn’t trust her. Sami wants them to try again; she will forget about his fling with Paris and how he gave Paris her spot as a star. She then changes her tone to a seductive one and tells Octi that she can remember other things….like how to love him. As she gets on top of him, Octi tells her “no” but she continues to kiss him.

Marga tells Chile that she can’t do that to her kids, but Chile argues that that is why he wants to tell everyone about their relationship. He feels like a criminal when he sees her secretly. Marga doesn’t want anyone to know that she is seeing someone who could be her son. When Chile asks if she is ashamed him. Marga denies it but adds that she is a respected woman in town…she doesn’t think that people will have mercy. If Chile wants to be with her, there is no other way than in secret. Chile thought Marga had hopes of being with him, but for him it has to be all or “Notting Hill.” He leaves her to think about it.

Aure arrives home and Mariana sees that he was beat up. She asks who did it to him, so he tells her it was Octi. As she cleans him up and tends to his injuries, Aure tells her that he didn’t want to come home earlier so Xochitl wouldn’t see him. When she asks why Octi beat him up, Aure responds that he isn’t sure…maybe he didn’t take care of Octi’s wife or “something.” Marian wonders what the something could be and if it might have something to do with Paris. Marina then tells him that she will bring him a blanket so that he can sleep on the couch.

FLOR
Ep 24: Part 3 Fools Don’t Always Rush In

Chile is back at his funeral home telling Val that life is worthless. Women make them fall in love, they use them, and then they throw them out like an old rag. He wishes he could give Marga some of her same medicine. When Val mentions that that is why he wants to distance Teo from Flor and adds that Marga has always wanted Teo for Flor because of his money, Chile agrees to help him.

Val floats over Flor as she sleeps. He tells her that ithas only been a month since he died and she is already thinking of having a family with Teo. He won’t allow it…not even dead. Flor then wakes up and sits up. When she senses that someone was there, she calls out to Lola.

The Next Day—

The three people who initially fell into a grave—Vicente, Jovita, and Tere—are with Father Elpi who complains that ever since they fell into the grave, they have been there every day to confess. They insist that Father give them a blessing and that he do whatever he can to get rid of the curse. They suggest a spiritual fasting during which music and parties will be prohibited.

Oscar sees Teo pass by and asks him if he found what he was looking for in his office, but Teo has no clue what Oscar is talking. Oscar worries about who may have looked through his things. Teo then goes outside and looks at his graffitied truck…he won’t let this stay this way.

Chile reports to Nestór for his community service. Nestór gives him a broom so that he can sweep the city streets. After Chile complains and tells Nestór that he never received any training in sweeping and suggests that he can paint or repair glass, Nestór tells him that those will be his next chores.

Mariana is walking down the street when she sees Paris and wants to talk to her. After Mariana mentions that Aure was beat up, Paris denies knowing anything about it. Mariana doesn’t know if she should believe a woman like her…one who gets involved with married men. When Paris tells her that it is easy to judge others, Mariana retorts that it’s also easy to be the other woman. Paris responds that she didn’t want to cause Mariana any harm, but Mariana points out that she not only hurt her, but she hurt her family too…she hopes Mariana can sleep with a clear conscience.

Chile is scrubbing the town gazebo while Val asks him to go with him to make sure Flor found the money. Chile can’t go because he is being monitored during his community service. When Val insists, Chile raises his voice as he argues. When the monitor asks him what he said, Chile responds that he also heard something strange.

Father Epi tells Tito to get some wine for a special mass. Tito tells him that there is no more wine left since he drank it all. When Father scolds him and asks him what he is going to do to make up for his sin, Tito tells him that he wants to become a priest.

Paris storms into Octi’s office and chides for him for beating up Aure. Octi responds that he had warned Aure to stay away from the casino girls. When Octi mentions that Paris is now his, Paris argues that she doesn’t belong to him. Octi stands and firmly tells her that if he says she is his, then she is his; when he says she isn’t his, then she won’t be his. As he tells her that right now she is his and starts groping her, Sami watches from behind the door.

FLOR
Ep 24: Part 4 Fools Don’t Always Rush In

Father Elpi tries to talk Tito out of becoming a priest since he can’t fix his problems that way. When Tito tells him that he wants to heal his pain, Elpi tells him that that is not the way to do it…he knows from experience. Tito wonders if Elpi has a past; so Elpi tells him that he was young once and fell in love. Tito thinks that the woman must have rejected him; so Elpi explains that the woman had another commitment. When Elpi adds that the woman made the right decision and that he entered the seminary to forget her, Tito points out that Elpi just advised him that that was not the solution. Tito then figures that Elpi has not forgotten the woman and feels sorry for Elpi. He invites Elpi to sit down and tell him all about it.

Itza is at her beauty shop when Elpi arrives and needs to talk to her. He tells her that her son, Tito, has a serious problem.

Flor goes to the kitchen and sees the mess Lola left. As she takes the dishes to the sink, she notices the roll of money on the shelf. She goes to Lola who is still fast asleep and wakes her up as she tells her that she can’t be leaving money just anywhere. Lol responds that it isn’t her money and suggests that maybe a ghost left it there. Val appears and whispers to Flor that she is going to start asking herself many questions now.

MIRADA

Rgv Chickie, thanks for this great recap and for the info about poor Amanda in Tenías Que Ser Tú.

I sort of agree with you and JudyB about Spanish language Hallmark movies. They might even be a major improvement on the original Hallmark brand.

I have only once seen a Hallmark movie, and I'm not sure I saw the whole thing. I might have fallen asleep before the ending or just didn't much care at that point. I certainly agree that I don't like the "humiliation, betrayal, anxiety, false imprisonment, etc." stuff in TNs, and I might throw in narco violence and other gratuitous violence. But even Disney movies have a bit of suspense and drama.

In addition, the Hallmark movie I saw was seriously deficient in eye candy. A while back Novelera said that in addition to helping her with her Spanish, "... I kind of have to admit I get hooked on the plots and the beautiful people!"

One hallmark (sorry! :) of Mexican TNs is the wall to wall beautiful women. I would hope that any Mexican attempts at Hallmarking would continue this. It is certainly part of why I watch TNs. And for this my very imperfect Spanish is not a hindrance.   :-p

FLOR

Fun and fabulous Rgv Chick! Enjoyed every single word and marvelous detail.

"Xochitl then asks Flor if she already forgot about Val (awkward!). Flor opts to leave the room" captured those events perfectly!

“He looks around and finds the small stick Father Elpi used to break in”. Smiling at the good padre as a break in artist.

"Chile now wants to formalize their relationship so that they don’t have to hide anymore, especially from her children". Not sure Marga will take that bait!

"Chile thought Marga had hopes of being with him, but for him it has to be all or “Notting Hill.” HA! Nopis.

"Val floats over Flor as she sleeps. He tells her that ithas only been a month since he died and she is already thinking of having a family with Teo". So, is it a month in Val's spirit world? Seems we are keep being led to wonder how much time has actually passed.

Rose and Oscar. Not seeing this, is there any chance these two could actually become a couple? Stranger things have happened!

Wonderful Rgv Chick. Thank you!

MIRADA

Oh my, know for sure I can't watch this episode. For some reason I find storylines like this unbearable. Just too upsetting. But happy to have the recap, and agree with Doris that the title is great. But slandering a young woman's reputation like that...just too painful to contemplate. Wussed out again. But THANKS RGV CHICA!

MIRADA

Pulling another double header, RGV. I hope the lovely little goat herd isn't being ignored. We sure aren't with your wonderful recaps. Thank you.

Nina--I, too, laughed at your grey sweater comment. Where DID Marina get it? Was it Goodwill, Doris? In the early episodes Marina was dressed traditionally, as a campesina, but always looked nice (although I wish she would pull her hair back in a pony tail, or a braid, like Dami's). That sweater has been bothering me for days now. She's always tugging at the sleeves and it seems to be size 3X and flops around in it.

Sudoodoo just isn't thinking straight. What makes her think Don Louse's fortune will go to Vanessa, toute de suite. Even if he names her in his will, he has to die first. And what about Pru? Shouldn't she inherit as Don L's wife? Unless Susu actually stands over Don L with a sharp letter opener in one hand and an ink pen in the other, what makes her think he'll switch his heirs? Just because he shouted it out in a fit of pique?

I hope Beto and Marina can patch up their differences soon. He needs to recognize that she sees his questions as doubt and distrust, while she needs to recognize that he IS trying to figure everything out. And there's this big piece of controversy. Doc Mask told Mari he'd had her as his woman and the lady doc says nothing happened, yet Marina woke up naked. Even if he didn't violate her physically, I think there's a crime in there somewhere.

I really worry that Doc Mask, for all his public nastiness and reclusiveness, is seen as a "good" person in town and will be believed. And even though everyone also knew Marina as a good person, it only took a couple of lies for "everyone" (according to Susu) to believe she's a slut.

Ramona saw what she saw and it looked the same to us (the arm around the neck), though we on the Patio know she was knocked out. I don't think I've ever seen a date rape pill work that fast. Doc must know his medicine, though. Tough as it is to watch these episodes, I'm anxious to see how Doc gets his lies exposed.

And isn't that how it has usually gone in real life, too?

Patio --- Has Marina worn that big, shapeless sweater before this week? I honestly cannot remember seeing it (I'm always looking at her hair & boots) If it was not a regular fashion item for her, then this sweater may be a reaction to her (believed by Marina) rape, covering herself up to keep from looking attractive to ANY man.

MIRADA

Doris--I wish now I had kept all the episodes on my DVR to research this project...(ha, truthfully, I have better things to research), but, it kind of looks like something Damiana would wear. I just don't remember if she had it on when Don Louse carried her off in his SUV to dump her at Doc Mask's house. Someone maybe could help us. But your rationale for her continuing to wear it is very plausible.

MIRADA (really)

First, let me apologize for my earlier post. I put the header "MIRADA" then very briefly mentioned another TN and then the rest of the comment was about Hallmark and the idea of a Spanish language version of Hallmark movies. No further mention of Sin tu mirada.

So back to Mirada. I agree that the TN is at a point where it is difficult to watch, all evil and nastiness prevailing. And with more to come, no doubt. We should soon have the DNA test results which will cause more problems. But I think I see a couple of bright spots. Pru is getting feisty and will hopefully defend Marina. And Toribio is beginning to have some recollection of what happened to him. I'm not sure what good it would do if he names Don Louse as the one who caused his breakdown, but it might be a part of a resolution. Maybe.

And I doubt that Don Louse would name Vanesa as his heir. He may be fond of her but he has a wife and a son, whatever the circumstances of his son's birth. He was just mouthing off.

Do spouses, especially wives, have property rights in Mexico? Little by little we are learning things about the Mexican legal system with all the courtroom scenes and police cases. It seems they are always talking about someone having to make a complaint before the authorities will investigate or bring charges. In the U.S. system I know that criminal cases can be investigated and taken to court without the cooperation of the victim, even against the wishes of any victims. (I have confirmed this with a friend who has become an expert on the law through Court TV :)

Ok I know beto is trying to reason out
Some stuff, but needs to be more aware
Of marina's situation. It sounds to her he's doubting her. Telling she's confused. He needs to take what baldo
Told him into consideration. She needs
Him to trust her, and he didn't sound like he was trusting her. Think beto,
You are a doctor, do the drug math. He
Druged her, she remembers nothing. Why
Is he being thrown off? And the lady doc,if theres no sperm shouldn't that say he didnt even penitrate? How much time passed?Did she have time to wash?

Anita,"even if he didn't violate her physically there's a crime in there somewhere". Yeah, that he even exist!

Ya know how those slaps happen in the tns,I want to see pru or dami,or angty
Slap su so hard her descendants feel it. She Don't even care about beto, tho
She never did really. Just the money that comes to her messed up spawn. It's Getting harder to see the saving grace
In Vanessa. She's burnin the candle at both ends.

Pru told su to shut up, should have been a slap with that.
Very entertaining recap & comments.
Why would marina go walkin by herself on Don l's land? And here he comes.
He knows doc is lying. She sould not claim him as her father, cuz he wants to believe the worst. What a monster.

Thank you Ms Chick.

Marida, me above^^^^^ I keep forgetting to put "Marida" before I comment.

Rgv Chickie, the next time you put up any quotes from the comments, you should really consider Nina's:

Nina , ITA Don LouseyAss shouldn’t be invited to any party or event where Marina will be. And about that old gray sweater…Doris and Anita, I had deleted my episodes, but they were still in the trash, so I took a look. Marina was wearing a sweater when Don L took her to Doc’s. It was similar (in color and length) to the one she was wearing on Friday, but not as bulky and it seemed shimmery to me.

Doris, I like your cast of nasties; I’m glad you included Ramona in there!

Andy, no worries about talking about another TN or Spanish Hallmark movies. And I agree than Don L was just polluting the air when he told Vanesa he would leave her all his fortune. Actually, what I have been waiting for is for Su to push Vanesa to go after Don L now since she keeps telling Vanesa to go spend time with him.

JudyB, it really was disgusting how Doc Mask told so many lies…and he and Don L were laughing and smirking throughout that conversation. Doris, it is absolutely nauseating that it does happen too often in real life.

Nina, a slap…or two or three…would have been really good to see Pru give Su.

OT - Andy, I will certainly take your recommendation for the sidebar. If anyone has any other recommendations for the sidebar, please e-mail me or write it in a comment here or on the “Primetime” page. I visit the “Telemundo” and “PASL2” pages once in a while, but not enough to find recommendations or noteworthy comments. I will update the sidebar comments at the beginning of each month.

Diana, I am so glad you might get a chance to watch a few episodes this coming week.

I honestly don’t understand how Chile can be so interested in Marga…and not because of the age difference, but because she is such a bitter and mean person. He’s a con artist, but his personality is the extreme opposite of Marga’s…OTOH he did mention that he was very lonely and felt like no one wanted him around. Maybe he is liking Marga’s interest???

In regards to Rose and Oscar, I’m thinking “fat chance” for that to come to fruition.” He is the radio announcer who cross dresses; so I don’t think he would tell Rose about that.

Xochitl is turning out to be quite a little manipulator. Mariana is going to have even more problems if she doesn’t nip that in the bud.

Rgv Chick, I think you are absolutely right in that Chile is lonely. He "lost" his best (and seemingly only) friend so he is seeking solace where he can find it. I'm just sorry it is in Marga's arms who is void of any compassion or empathy from what I saw.

I appreciate your thoughts on Rose and Oscar. Oscar is Teo's father, is that right? Rose is just as unlikeable as her mother.

Mariana needs to tell her daughter the truth. The world can't turn according to what children wish, even if it is to reunite families that are already irrevocably torn apart.

Diana, yes, Oscar is Teo's father. He is an attorney and a cross-dressed radio announcer.
