Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Miercoles 5/29/19 Episode 53: Family Affairs

Scenes combined where it made sense to do so.

New York: Cristina and her lawyers were mobbed by the press who asked about the trial. Adrián said that it was tough but they got the right result. Cristina talked about helping other women in similar situations and she was happy that the world found out about Harry Blums. She praised her lawyers for their skill and for giving her courage.

Mexico City: El Ciego – high or drunk or just loco – questioned El Chivo about who told him where El Gringo was. He gave a vague answer, which set El Ciego off. He hit him several times and told him that the next time he has wrong information he will kill him.

Alan saw Carlos working at his desk and asked if he needed help. Carlos turned down his offer, saying he didn't.. He asked Alan to send Nancy in and Alan told him to be careful with Nancy and not to trust her. Alan said that he got in clients and work on his own merit and Carlos was sufficiently fed up with him to tell him that he gave him his place out of pity. Alan told him he was wrong and he will prove it.

Adrián called Victoria to tell her the victory news and that she was totally right about Leonardo and Olivia.

El Chivo called El Gringo to tell him that El Ciego beat him up and that he is crazy. He still didn't reveal his location out of fear. El Gringo tried to tell him that his people would look out for him,but El Chivo still wasn't ready to tell.

New York: Cristina and her lawyers had a round of drinks in the bar. Leonardo told her that Blums would attempt to appeal the case and that this could go on for a while, but nobody would want to work for him ever again. She should go on with her life. The lawyers toasted her.

Later when Olivia noticed that Leonardo was asking Adrián a lot of questions she got him alone and asked him what this was about. He told her that Roberto had expressed concerns about his intentions toward Victoria. She answered that Roberto has never felt this way about anyone else and that was what was going on. Cristina took her leave, thanking everyone.

Mexico City: Roberto tried to get Ricardo to get away from his computer and go out for some relaxation.

Juan brought home some packing boxes and saw Susanna looking sad. She was looking around the house and telling Juan that his father had bought the house when he was a child and she has so many memories in it. Juan tried to convince her that it would be a good idea to rent it out and the money would be hers so she could buy anything she wanted. She still seemed unsure of all this.

El Cuervo gave El Chivo some pills [unknown type] and he got up, probably still in pain. El Ciego came in and gave him some more [again, unknown type] to make him feel better. [Does anyone else think that the goat is about to be curried?] He then walked away. El Chivo started out.

Roberto brought Ricardo and some pizzas back to his place. Nicolas knew what was going on with Ricardo and told him about when he lost his first patient on the operating table. That there are some things in life one can't control and one has to face that.

New York: Sofia thanked Leonardo and Olivia for their help, as they had an early flight in the morning. Leonardo told them that he loved living in New York but he missed Mexico and working in the Vega firm. Adrián told him that he learned a lot from him. Nice goodbyes and Adrián, Sofia, and Cristina left the bar.

Mexico City: El Ciego and his goons met with the couriers of their merchandise and went to their truck, probably on the edge of town. He wanted everything loaded into the cars within a half hour and to get out of there. No mistakes. El Cuervo opened the back, then helped El Ciego to get inside. He handed him a flashlight. He found a banner which read “The garbage you wanted to sell is in the garbage where your head will be. El Gringo.” He looked them over then demanded to know who had betrayed him. He turned to his goons and said he wanted to talk to them to find out. Then he will do what he had to do to make the traitor pay.

New York: Leonardo called Roberto, who put him on speaker so Ricardo and Nicolas could hear. Leonardo told them the good news and said he missed them all. Then he told Roberto he had the answer to his questions and Roberto turned off the speaker so only he could hear. Leo told him that he investigated and could find nothing. The only odd thing was that he took and/or made a call out of their hearing. Roberto took that to mean that Adrián had something to hide.

Meanwhile at the hotel Sofia called her mother who seemed to have forgotten that Sofia was in New York on a case. Camila almost became hysterical and fearful for her, demanding to know when she was coming home. She told her that she was coming back early in the morning. Camila went on about not being able to sleep until then. Sofia was to wake her up if she had. When the call ended Sofia looked concerned and even a bit frightened, but not of what her mother seemed to mean.

Mexico: Roberto admitted to Ricardo and Nicolas that he asked Leonardo to investigate Adrián. Both thought this was only evidence of Roberto's jealousy and told him he needed to talk with Victoria.

El Ciego went off on his goons again, pointing the pistol and turning the table over.

The next morning Susanna and Juan were packing things for the move. She looked sad. Juan tried to cheer her up but was not successful. He left for the office, telling her that he will pick up more moving boxes on the way home.

Sofia went home and her conversation with Camila sounded normal until Camila did not remember their phone conversation of the night before.

Guadalajara, Jalisco: Alonso and Gustavo escorted Josefina to court. When Gustavo gave his opening statement he spoke of Victor taking over the processing plant after the death of his father and not doing a competent job. Victor's lawyer said things to contradict this, and in the end Alonso had to refer to the laws regarding businesses and that none of them show that Josefina acted in bad faith. Victor's lawyer stated that Josefina fired Victor unfairly and therefore owed him 900,000 pesos. Gustavo stated that current employment law entitles a business owner to fire an employee for cause, such as violence or a threat of violence directed at another employee. Victor's lawyer tried to say that this was a family matter and Gustavo said that once one relative works for another it is a professional relationship. They kept interrupting each other while Josefina got more impatient.

Mexico: Adrián went to Victoria's office and she gave him a congratulatory hug. They hadn't said much before Roberto arrived to congratulate him at the same time as kissing Victoria to stake out his territory. He insisted they go out and celebrate that evening.

Guadalajara, Jalisco: Josefina stated that Victor didn't need the money he was demanding, but was looking to exert his will over the situation. When he threatened his brother she consulted her lawyers who recommended that she take back their shares of the business. Alonso confirmed this and said that his client was prepared to pay 300,000 pesos [$15,682 USD]. The judge nullified Victor's petition and lowered the amount to 280,000 pesos.

"Does anyone else think that the goat is about to be curried?" JAJAJAJAJAJA.

Hope there's another noun waiting in the wings.

Curried goat--just sprinkle it on and he turns yellow. Thanks, UA.

I was extremely disappointed that the victory celebration did not include the second witness (pity, I've forgotten her name already, as did everybody else celebrating). Without her they would have had NO case to push forward.

More later. It might rain and I still have some serious pruning left to do.

Sorry, but I’m fast fwding with the Jalisco distillery... usually I like the actress, Eugenia......That was the shortest trial ever in NY! The judge ruled so fast......really? Kinda feel kinda sorry for buffoon Alan. When Adrian got a call, he answered privately. Robert is taking it as sign he is not trust worthy. That phone could have a girl he met in NYC , his banker, his ...whatever? Doesn’t mean he is secretly taking calls.

Thanks, Urban.

Roberto is being most ridiculous. Come on, writers. Get this triangle moving.

Olivia and Leonardo were making out so much in the restaurant that I wondered if they were homeless and had no place to go to to get it on.

I never tire of Carlos dissing Alan.

Thanks Urban.

El ciego, loco as usual. He'll wind up probably killin all of his own people.

Steve, do you see nancy, carlos, alan or
Michel Along with the others Els on your death list?

This show is getting kinda sleepy. It
Needs to be a pick-me-up situation.
Like Tatiana revealing her plans for
Sweet Juan, or his ex coming back.

Something to give it a kick. Robby is
Lookin for something to pen on adrian with. I Wonder if there is something to that?

The lady and her greedy sons. They're
Not very grown up. I think they maybe
Feel they are intitled. Brats.

Any one figured out what Michelle is up to yet? Blood spillage is on the horizon.
I want to hear what Gilbert has to say
For his greedy self, and where the $$$
Is that he borrowed from(cant remember her name) ale's mom?

That sounds like either dementia or Alzheimers Sofia's mom has. And it sounds like the really bad one of the
Alzheimers. I have a friend who is a nurse, she specialized alzheimers, she
Says there are 3 types, I never knew that. The 3rd is the worse one. She
Explained to me using medical talk so
I can't tell y'all what she said. Or
It could be something they made up for the show. I hope she dont harm herself
.
Ok done for now. Thank Urban. Y'all
stay cool.

Bobby can't stand the idea that Adrian is so goll darn perfect in every way. IIRC, he even determined that Vicky was unattached before making himself available to her. It's clear she likes him; but it is also clear she still flirts a bit with Bobby. That's not nice. She KNOWS he wants her back. If she only wants him as a professional colleague, then she should stop teasing. But who knows, maybe they are like comfortable old shoes and they can't change the way they are to something they were not.

I think Michelle told El Gringo that she wants revenge on El Ciego and she assumes she can get the skinny on him through Carlos. At least she's not as obvious as Nancy is to hurry and get it on with Carlos, which she might not want at all.

If we didn't already know Alan was guilty of Pat's death and is hiding the blackmail the judge is exacting, we'd probably think he was stupid for continuing to take what Carlos dishes out. He's probably stupid as a fox and we'll eventually learn he wants the whole bowl of cherries for himself and slam the bars on Carlos. I bet he covers his tracks pretty well--for now.

It rained, thunderstorm and tornado warnings for 45 min. which didn't materialize. So, I ate peanuts and shared them with some wet squirrels.

Sounds like a lovely afternoon, Anita. I edited strategic direction documents and shared them with some other academic administrators, but it didn't have quite the same tang.

Just four more years, Blue. You said so yourself. Hang in there. Good things are coming when you have time to sit and feed your backyard critters.

Alan was an inferior student and Carlos has been carrying him since he graduated (unless he was lying to Leonardo, but I doubt it). We saw Alan screw up in court. He also screwed up in the matter of Fernanda's app, where he should have advised his client to hire her, pay her well, and benefit from anything else she can invent. His energies are devoted to making sure that Carlos doesn't find out the truth about the murder.

Tellez will resurface to demand more and more money, enough to make Alan go off the edge.

[Does anyone else think that the goat is about to be curried?]

What a superb quip! You really come up with some beauts, Urban. Sorry I've been out of the loop. It was a bad week. And a busy day today. But enjoyed the recap and maybe will even get to see the episode later.

Thanks as always.

I'm still trying to understand how these guys got those nicknames. El Ciego wears dark glasses even when indoors, so that one makes some sense. It's his two goons I can't figure out.

Three goons! Remember El Gato, QEPD?

Oh, yes; El Gato. Although I can't see how he earned that name unless he stalked silently. Cats are good at that.
