Ep 30: Part 1 Charly’s Flow Goes Deeper and Deeper
Diana calls the bank and transfers all the money in Charly’s account to her account. Axel gives Charly the bad news…his account is empty! When Axel asks if anyone else has access to the account, Charly’s tiny little light bulb lights up and he knows it had to be Diana.
Wendy drops in at Juanjo’s studio since she was in the area and just wanted to see how Erick’s interview went. Juanjo happily reports that Erick’s interview went very well.
At DEA Central, Ben is preparing to transfer Chente elsewhere. Chente is wearing a bullet-proof vest, but when they walk outside, the sniper shoots him right on his forehead (we all knew that was coming!) and he splats on the steps…eyes wide open.
Charly arrives at his house to find Diana (who is wearing an itty bitty dress with a slit practically to her waist) and some cops at the gate. Charly tells the cops that they should arrest Diana since she stole all the money from his account. Diana tells him that she is following her lawyer’s orders…she is not going to let him walk all over her any more. ..and she is going to take every cent that belongs to her. Charly is then allowed to go in, but only to get his things.
Vanesa is with Rodrigo who tells her that his sales at the fishery went very well. He has enough money that they can go to the beach. Vanesa likes the idea and will get one of her dad’s cars since her car is in the shop.
Ben meets with Yameli to tell her about Chente’s assassination…Monchis had to have ordered it. When he tells Yamelu about the information Chente gave them, he assures Yameli that Monchis won’t get away because they have closed off the city, but Yameli still thinks that they are starting from zero. Yameli then gets a text from Erick to confirm that they will be seeing each other.
Erick is at home when Lidia enters. He tells her that he is texting Lari though he knows that Lidia doesn’t think to well of her. After Lidia admits that she had wrongly judged Lari, Erick is glad because he sees Lari as a mother…a music mother. They discuss how neither one of them has been able to talk to Charly since Charly doesn’t answer his phone.
Charly is laying on his lounger brooding about how bad things are for him…he worries about telling Monchis that Diana took all his money. The only good think in his life right now is Yameli (so you think, sucker!), but he isn’t sure how Yameli feels about him.
Diana sees Vanesa as she is trying to get some car keys. After Diana tells Vanesa that Charly left, Vanesa wonders if they ever loved each other; Diana assures her that they did, but it’s been so long that she doesn’t remember. Vanesa has a change of heart and wants her relationship with Diana to be the way it used to be, but she wants Diana to not treat her like a child. After Diana agrees, they hug. Later, Vanesa tells Rodrigo that she can’t go with him to the beach since her mother is very sad…but they can go the next day. Rodrigo comments that it will give him time to gather his merchandise...sales will be good at the beach.
Ep 30: Part 2 Charly’s Flow Goes Deeper and Deeper
Charly is still brooding as Axel checks out the news on his phone. After he shows Charly Erick’s interview, Charly has a fit and throws Axel’s phone…his family is backstabbing him!
Erick and Yameli meet for lunch. When Yameli presses him about meeting with Monchis, Erick wonders why she is so insistent about it; so Yameli explains that she worries about him and his mother. It would be better if Erick looked for Monchis before Monchis gets to him…Erick still doesn’t like the idea.
Monchis sees Erick’s interview on the TV. He shouts that the idiot and his mother are going to hear from him…they are family and they have to be together whether they like it or not!! Toño tells him to calm down because now it will be easier to track down Erick.
Juanjo drops in to see Yameli since they didn’t finish their conversation when Wendy called him. Yameli tries to avoid continuing the conversation, but after much insistence, she tells Juanjo that she read his letters…she wonders why he never told her that he was in love with her. Juanjo explains that he didn’t think he had a chance since she liked Charly. As they talk about “what could have been” they get very close to each other…almost kissing, but then Juanjo mentions how he is getting married to Wendy…and Yameli is set on avenging Charly.
Wendy, who looks like she hasn’t slept in days, talks to Pati about a “friend” who thinks her husband is lying to her. Pati suggests that the friend start looking through the husband’s things to find out what is going on.
Lidia goes to see Charly since he won’t answer his calls. When she asks about his separation from Diana, Charly responds that he regrets having married Diana. When Lidia assures him that he has her support, Charly wonders why no one told him that Erick started his career as a singer. Erick enters and tells Charly not to blame his mother since everything was his own idea. Charly thinks Erick is a traitor and doesn’t want to talk to Erick. After Charly storms out, Erick follows and tells him to stop his tantrum. Erick explains that he hadn’t said anything because he didn’t think his song would become a hit. Charly thinks Erick just wanted to give him some competition...if he is such a pretty boy he should get into telenovelas (so Caray mates can talk about him?) since he is no good at music. Charly chides him for working with his enemy. After Charly storms off (again), Lidia goes after him and tells him that he should be happy about his brother’s success, but Charly insists that Erick is a traitor.
Yameli calls Diana to see how she is doing. They make plans to meet later so they can talk.
Lidia tells Charly that he should support Erick who is only trying to make it on his own. Charly still thinks Erick is a traitor since he offered Erick a job at Luxor, but Erick chose to go with Juanjo. When Charly asks why they hadn’t told him that they had moved, Lidia reminds him that he never answered their calls…and the first thing he would have done is tell Monchis. Lidia then confides that Monchis threatened to kill her if she left him…and he beat her. Charly wants to kill Monchis, but Lidia pleads with him to distance himself from Monchis.
Ep 30: Part 3 Charly’s Flow Goes Deeper and Deeper
Monchis gathers his men and tells them that he needs them to find out where his son Erick lives; and he also needs them to bring Charly to him…he needs to know why Charly hasn’t given him his money. After the men leave, he tells a woman that she needs to buy some nice clothes so she can pretend to be a reporter.
Yameli enters to see Charly who tells her that Pez Koi is Erick and that Diana threw him out of the house; Yameli feigns surprise and comments that when women are hurt, he needs to be very careful. When he mentions Zaria’s interview, Yameli admits that she saw it, but didn’t think anything of it since the woman is crazy and no one visits her webpage. Yameli then tells Charly that he has a sponsor who wants to interview him because he has a foundation who promotes young artists…and he wants to use Charly as an example. Charly smiles and thinks that things go better when Yameli is close by (Ha! Dream on!).
Juanjo asks El Buho to be his witness at his wedding. Wendy calls, but Juanjo doesn’t answer the call; he will call her later. After Wendy calls a second time, El Buho asks if Juanjo is sure he wants to marry Wendy since he doesn’t look too enthused. Juanjo replies that he promised to marry Wendy and he is a man of his word…and they have known each other for a long time and get along well. EL Buho agrees to be Juanjo’s witness and they seal it with a hug.
Wendy opens Juanjo’s strongbox and takes out the SIM card. After she places it in her own phone, she sees the message Juanjo sent to Diana anonymously and takes a picture of it.
Diana and Yameli meet at a restaurant to talk. After Diana confides tah she took out all of money from Charly’s account, she asks Yameli whose side sheis on since Yameli works for Charly. Yameli assures her that their friendship is priority…she only works for Charly. Yameli then asks about Vanesa, so Diana tells her that Vanesa is doing surprisingly well—she has gone back to school and is being very supportive of Diana. Meanwhile, Vanesa is with Rodrigo as they drive to Acapulco in one of Charly’s many vehicles. Rodrigo suggests that Vanesa tell her parents that she is going off with her girlfriends...and she should prepare herself because he brought along some candies that she is going to enjoy.
Yameli meets with Zaria who congratulates her for Charly’s divorce and the destruction of his family. When Yameli clarifies that her focus is only on Charly and not Diana or Vanesa, Zaria mentions that Diana can be a witch. She explains how Diana went to her house and threatened her…and she made her lose her job. After Yameli insists that they leave Diana and Vanesa out of their plan, Zaria concedes. When Zaria suggests that she upload the additional information on her webpage, Yameli tells her that it needs to be done through a magazine…she wants the bomb to explode when Charly least expects it.
Monstro has been lying low, but now he will be after Lidia and Erick to get them under his control again. I have a feeling that Charly is finally going to step up when Monstro goes after Lidia or, perhaps, after he attacks her or maybe kills her.
That was a near miss kiss moment for Juanjo and Yam. The writers are teasing us.
I had a bad car accident when I was 16, so I think that it is unrealistic that Vanessa would be so comfortable speeding around in a car with Bad Boy Rod. She seemed to have forgotten her "friend" who was badly injured in the accident.
Thank you, Rgv Chick.
The reaction of Charly and Monchis to Eric's revealing that he was Pez Koi was as expected. It was all about them. It was the right call to do it independently and without letting them know.
Vanesa knows that Ruco is a drug dealer and she seems to have no problem with it. Hasn't she watched Telemundo while in Miami? Doesn't she know how it all ends? Or maybe having Monchis as her great-uncle makes it ok.
Good Morning. Patio!
Susanlynn, yes, it seems that these writers are doing quite a bit of teasing. First we had Juanjo almost finding out who Erick's bio mom is and now we have the almost kiss we are anticipating...and that's just this week! It hadn't occurred to me but, you make a good point--Vanesa did look too comfortable in that car. And "Bad Boy Rod," I like it!
Steve, I have no idea what the body count is, but I don't think it's in the double digits.
Lucio, I was surprised that Vanesa agreed to go to Acapulco after she found out Ruco's real reason for wanting to go. I thought surely she would at least complain, but she took it in stride...as if it's just another run-of-the-mill job, but then I guess with her parents also doing drugs and alcohol, maybe she actually does think it is "normal."
Oohh, shall we start counting how many times Charly throws a phone? will it be as many times as Damian (Sergio Sendel) threw it in MEPS? :-D
Anon 11:43
good questions for Wendy. I agree that she is pathetic, but I do feel sorry for her. She has been waiting for this for so long. I blame Juanjo too, for caving in and agreeing to marry her right after he found out that Yameli had (supposedly) died. Talk about a "plato the segunda mesa"! (equivalent to playing second fiddle).
Ep 31: Part 1 Whatever It Takes
Charly is being interview. He tells the reporter that he lived in the barrio as a kid. It’s where he started writing his songs. He was a talented kid who had many dreams. When he mentions that he wrote about all his dreams and notes in a beat up notebook that looked more like a girl’s notebook since it had drawings and designs, Yameli looks at him as if she’d like to take her hard as nails and claw his face…and there is a flashback of when she first showed Charly her notebook. As he continues with his BS, he notices Yameli’s look and takes her to the side to ask if something is wrong. Just then, Jaime pushes through the crowd and tells Charly that he will no longer be his sponsor because he doesn’t want to be associated with someone involved in so many scandals. Yameli tries to intervene, but Charly tells her not to bother because he doesn’t need this sponsorship. Jaime then mentions the video that is now being circulated; so Yameli and Charly go and watch the video where Charly is drunk and hits Axel on the head. Yameli secretly smirks as she watches the video. As they walk to the car, Yameli tells Charly that karma is getting him for everything he does…he is always angry and it’s ruining his reputation; she is finding it very difficult to cover up all his crap. When they get to the car, Charly grabs Yameli by the waist, but she is saved by some girlie fans.
Erick is with Serg out in the barrio. Erick feels bad that Charly accused him of wanting to compete against him. They are family and Charly should be happy for him. Erick doesn’t like to compare, but Juanjo is much more cool since he treats him as if he is family. Erick then tells Serg that he has his first check coming.
Charly is driving as Yameli suggests that after the concert, he should disappear…go off by himself and write some songs as good as “Reflejo.” Charly will think about it, but right now he wants to take her to a hotel so they can be together. Yameli is saved once more, but this time it’s by Diana who tells him that Vanesa took one of his cars and she won’t answer her phone. Charly tries to call Vanessa, but Vanessa, who is at a roadside food stand, ignores his call. Meanwhile, Diana looks into Vanesa’s computer and sees pics of Vanesa and Ruco at the park.
As Charly complains to Yameli about Vanesa’s behavior, they are stopped by Monchis’s goons, forced off the car and put into a van with hoods on their heads.
Ep 31: Part 2 Whatever It Takes
Vanesa drives up to a road checkpoint and they are asked to get off the car so that the cops can do a routine check of the car. After the cops find the drugs, Ruco and Vanesa are arrested and taken in.
Wendy is still looking at the anonymous message Juanjo sent to Diana. She calls the number and finds out that it’s Diana who received the message. In asking who is calling, Diana mentions Vanessa’s name.
Lady goon, who is now dressed as a reporter, goes to Juanjo’s studio to ask for Pez Koi, but is told he is not there. Meanwhile, Erick is out in the barrio singing his song to the barrio kids who dance as he sings.
Vanessa is escorted into the police station and told that she will need to call her parents.
Monchis and Toño watch as hooded Yameli and Charly are bought in. When he asks the men who the woman is and orders them to lock her up, Yameli recognizes the voice and recalls how Monchis when to her house after her parents died. Monchis then goes to Charly and gives him a hug. While Yameli is taken to a room upstairs, Monchis chides Charly for avoiding him and asks for his money. After Charly tells Monchis that Diana cleared out his savings account, Monchis tells him that he wants his money that same day. Charly insists that he will get him the money but he needs more time. Meanwhile, Yameli, who has taken off her hood, sneaks downstairs and listens as Monchis tells Charly that if he has no money, then he isn’t of any use to him anymore. Monchis then asks about the broad who was brought in with him…he might keep her as collateral. After Charly warns Monchis not to touch Yameli, Monchis chides Charly…his problem has always been women. He reminds Charly how he got rid of the orphan girl by sending her to prison and then permanently getting rid of her. Yameli listens as she grits her teeth. Monchis then thinks Charly is in love with the broad…history is repeating itself. When Charly mentions that he is very close to having the concert and Monchis could lose money, Monchis agrees to let him go, but only if Charly tells him where his mother is. Charly refuses because only a coward would raise his hand against a woman. Monchis punches Charly knocking him down to the floor, but Chary gets up and charges at Monchis who pushes him off. Two of the goons hold Charly as Monchis punches Charly in his stomach, then draws his pistol and cocks it. Charly tells him to go ahead and shoot…but he won’t touch his mother. Toño tells Monchis to calm down. Yameli runs back to the room and places the hood on her head before Charly is taken to her. Once alone, Charly tells Yameli that it’s his uncle who is responsible for their kidnapping. He owes Monchis some money, but Diana cleared out his savings account. Charly then assures Yameli that nothing will happen to her.
Erick goes to pick up his check at Juanjo’s studio. Across the street, Lady Goon watches and follows Erick to his apartment.
Diana goes to the police station where her lawyer tells her that the situation is not too bad. Fortunately for Vanessa, the young man she was with told the cops that Vanessa knew nothing about the drugs. Diana needs to sign some documents before Vanesa can be released;the car, however, will have to remain at the pound.
As Charly and Yameli talk, Monchis comes in and tells the men to take them away. Charly asks Monchis to listen to him, but Monchis never wants to see Charly again. He grabs Yameli and holds her close as he partially removes the hood to expose her lips. After he taunts Charly by licking Yameli (ewwww!), he tells the goons to take them away. Later, the goons drop off Charly and Yameli at a place they do not recognize. All Charly knows is that they were at Monchis’ hacienda, but he doesn’t know exactly where it is. Charly then tells Yameli that he isn’t going to have the concert…he doesn’t want to help his uncle, but Yameli talks him into going ahead with the concert.
Ep 31: Part 3 Whatever It Takes
As Diana and Vanessa leave the police station, Diana scolds Vanesa; she is fed up with her…and doesn’t trust her anymore. Vanesa swears up and down that she had no idea about the drugs, she doesn’t take drugs and Ruco doesn’t sell drugs (pretty little liar!). Vanessa tries to blame her attitude on Diana and Charly, but Diana points out that they are discussing Vanessa, not her and Charly.
Wendy fishes for information and questions Juanjo about Charly’s daughter’s name. After Juanjo confirms Vanessa’s name, Wendy continues to comment about the damaging videos about Charly. Juanjo remarks that Charly has lots of problems.
Lidia arrives to the apartment; so Erick excitedly shows her his first paycheck; he plans to buy her everything she needs and wants them to celebrate by ordering something to eat. Lidia would rather cook since she just brought groceries.
As they arrive home, Vanesa pleads with Diana not to tell her father about what happened. Once inside, Diana lies to Charly and tells him that Vanessa needed the car to go to a friend’s house to study. When he asks why Diana brought Vanesa back, Diana lies again and tells Charly that Vanessa committed a traffic violation and the car was impounded.
Yameli meets with Ben to tell him about what happened. Yameli doesn’t know where they were taken, but it took approximately 45 minutes to get there, so it was out of town. Though Charly denied it, Yameli thinks Charly knows where the hacienda is. When Yameli asks if Monchis and Charly will be arrested if they are caught laundering money, Ben confirms that they will go to prison, but they need to catch Monchis first. Later, they can arrest Charly. Ben plans to get Charly and Monchis to testify against each other. First, however, they need to get Charly to reveal where Monchis is…so they need to take advantage of Charly’s desire to have a relationship with Lari (so Ben is willing to pimp Yameli out? Points lost for Ben!). If they can accomplish that, they will all gain, including Yameli who will get her freedom.
Thank you, Rgv Chick.
Yamelí could barely contain her emotions when she heard that story about the notebook. Later in the car, she started to tease him, without him knowing, how he can be an example for kids. She heard his story, how he told it with so much truth, emotion it was impressive. It is unbelievable how since childhood he wrote his songs and achieved success. Charly says: "If you knew me then, when I was a boy, I wrote everything I felt in that notebook. That notebook made me who I am." Yamelí will probably quote this to him after telling him who she is.
Looks like Vanesa got away with it once again. What else needs to happen for Charly and Diana to take action.
"Whatever it takes" were the last words of the episode. And, for Yamelí, her freedom is worth it.
Thanks, Lucio. I was really hard to watch Charly spill all that BS so convincingly and, of course, not an ounce of remorse; I can just imagine the rage Yameli was feeling. Then she has to listen to Monchis confirming that he helped Charly send her to prison and then having her killed. Yameli showed lots of restrain as she listened as well as when they took Charly with her...she even managed to show concern for Charly. I don't know if I could have shown that much restraint. I was hoping Yameli had a phone on her so that she could have recorded the whole thing.
I fear for Lidia now that Lady Goon knows where she and Erick live. It won't be long before Monchis sends his goons for her...and it won't be pretty.
Watching the woman from Monstro so easily following Erich was frustrating . Now Mobstro knows where Lidia and Erick are living . I think that Charly will redeem himself in the end by dying while protecting Lidia. Just a hunch because he warned Monstro not to harm his mother.
I thought it was clever that The writers didn't have Monstro completely remove Yami's hood. Watching him lick her lips was disgusting. Ick. He really is one of the creepiest villains I have ever seen.
He's COMPLICIT in the deaths of Yameli's parents & Grandmother.
Susanlynn, I agree; MOnchis the Monstrous Mobster is one of the creepiest villains. I just corrected a typo and realized that there is only one letter difference between Monster and Mobster...gee, coincidence.
I'm wondering if anyone has done a write-up on the meanest, creepiest, most hated villains...seems like something Urban would do. If she hasn't done one, I vote that she does one...she's SO good at it (wink, wink) :-)
