Por Amar Sin Ley, Season 2 Viernes 7/26/19 Gran Final: A Thicken in Every Plot

Part 1 of 3: You get a backstory! And you! And you! Everybody gets a backstory!

1.1 Reclusorio of Long Time No See

Javier is sitting pensively in the interview room when an unkempt older gentleman shuffles in and opens with the immortal line, "Que haces aqui?" (It's not too late for bingo!) Javier tells him he needs his help. He's been working for a law firm that is finally teaching him a glimmer of the beginning of the meaning of the word teamwork (I must have missed that scene), but they've been brutally attacked. The perpetrator, El Ciego, has tentacles in all manner of official organizations, most notably in the jail. He needs to find out exactly who's involved.

Scruffy Guy: Why me?

Javier: Because you're my father.

Scruffy Guy: Well, you are not my son. You stopped being my son when you left me here alone.

Javier says he's the only one he can turn to, but his father is unmoved: Fix it yourself. As he leaves, he picks up his glasses from the table, puts them on, gazes intently at Javier and says, "Thank you for your visit. But it's better if you don't come back."

1.2 Warehouse District of Doom

El Ciego and his nounkicks arrive and position themselves for their photo shoot in Guns'n'Ammo. The police, led by Quiroz, appear quickly with sirens blaring and pull out their weaponry for the inevitable showdown. El Ciego pretends he's going to surrender, then ducks around the back of the car and pulls out a pistol...and off we go.

The gunfight is epic. Quiroz squints down the barrel of his rifle, keeping cool while looking hot. Nouns are dispatched in every direction. Nancy's Biscuit takes one in the shoulder and folds like a pup tent. El Ciego pulls a fallen El Cuervo to safety (a glimmer of humanity, or just a distraction?) and takes off running, pursued by Quiroz.

Quiroz has clearly memorized the rulebook: he corners El Ciego against a boxcar and demands he drop his weapon. Once again, El Ciego appears to comply, then whirls and shoots Quiroz at point-blank range. The weapon misfires and Quiroz tackles him to the ground, getting in a few solid get-punches along the way. Cuff him, Danno!

When they emerge from behind the Eco Container of Bamboo Flooring, the surviving nouns have been constrained in front of their accumulated armaments and Alonso, Gus, Ric & Rob have arrived to gloat. Alonso announces that THIS is justice, but El Ciego replies that justice does not exist. He's not afraid to die, and he will spend the rest of his life picking off every single person Alonso cares about, one by one, and when they least expect it. (This should come in very handy for the writers in hypothetical Season 3 if any of the characters needs a quick and completely illogical exit.) The four Vegans look exceedingly grim for guys who just got exactly what they kept saying they wanted, and certainly not in any mood to go off and start post-vendetta love affairs. (Too soon?)

1.3 Courtroom of Here We Go Again

Sofia opens Benjamin's hearing by outlining her multi-pronged attack: she intends to show that there were procedural irregularities on the part of the Ministerio Publico, that Alan was incompetent counsel, and that while the video shows Benji receiving a payoff, there is no subsequent evidence of what he did with it since it was in cash. Somehow she wins with only a slight raising of her voice and some lackadaisical pointing. I guess if you have enough evidence, you don't need theatrics. Who knew?

Ben calls her back as she is leaving to thank her. "I didn't do it for you," she says icily. "I did it for Ricardo." Burrrrrrn.

1.4 Holding Cell of Us Against Them

Carlos arrives to visit his favorite client. El Ciego tells him a long, emotional story about growing up with his father, who was very involved in opposition political activity, such as marches and protests. One day when they were staging an occupation on someone's land, a lawyer "like Vega" arrived with the police. El Ciego got away, but the police beat his father so severely he was left in a coma. "So who are the bad guys?" he asks plaintively. "They are the bad guys -- the ones who give lip service to justice when it's convenient but don't help the people when they're needed." He says he's going after Vega y Asociados, and Carlos tells him he's got the right lawyer, because he's been after them for years. As El Ciego melts dramatically back into the shadows, he says, "If they think they're done with me, they're sadly mistaken. This has just begun."

Part 2 of 3: You get a personality! And you! And you! Everybody gets a personality!

2.1 Bufete of Teamwork Hurrah!

Vicky, Adrian and Juan get busy reassembling the case against El Ciego, which is an upward slog now that the thugs have made off with most of their paperwork. They finally get around to watching the video of Alejandra's Bad Party and clearly see El Ciego arrive and enter the building. Gasp! The official version was doctored! Vicky is incensed. "How on earth can anyone consecrated to La Justicia sell himself like that?" Clearly she hasn't met Nancy. Or many men.

The Teamwork Team slowly reassembles itself as various other lawyers drift in. Lorena arrives with some actual acting chops she picked up in the hospital gift shop and suffers operatically over the fate of Manuel, who remains in a coma. His previously-nonexistent family has promised to inform them of any change. Sofia appears with news of Benji's release, followed by the Four Bad Boyfriends of the Apocalypse. Alonso gives the expected rousing speech: "We finally put our enemy behind bars. Now it's up to us to keep him there." Hands to the plow, comrades!

2.2 Anteroom of Subversion

Carlos tells Nancy that El Ciego will be prosecuted for murder of the Bufete Vega guard (so I guess there was one), attempted murder of Manuel Just Acquired a Last Name, drug-dealing, and whatever else he had going with Dorantes. When she looks worried about the sheer biomass of all the charges, he reminds her that they have to get him off so that the firm is not officially implicated in any of the shenanigans they're actually implicated in. And he, Carlos Ibarra, is just the stable genius to do it. He then takes a mysterious call from someone he calls "tu" and says, "Yes, I think you can be of some help to me...."

2.3 Oficina of Second Chances

Roberto comes to see if he can help Victoria with the case. Both confess they haven't slept at all since the attack, so obviously it's the perfect time to have a high-stakes conversation. Roberto tells her that he is consumed with fear that something will happen to her. The thought of losing her terrifies him, and with all that's happened, they can't waste time with petty misunderstandings. He never went home with that girl that night, and the fact that she was more upset about that than the revelation that Adrian was married, for God's sake, shows that she cares about him more than she'll admit. (He has an excellent point there.) "Is that what you see in your dreams?" she asks. No, he replies, my dreams always look like this...he moves in for the kiss...and it's GOOOOOOOOOOOL for the only couple in this telenovela who have any chemistry at all.

Roberto: Your kisses tell me the truth.

Victoria: Which is...?

Roberto: That we are the perfect couple.

Victoria: Do you think so?

Roberto: 100%.

She asks why something terrible had to happen for him to tell her how he really feels but nevertheless promises that when the immediate crisis is over, they will talk about "us." He says that's good enough for now, but not for long.

[Intermission Videomontage: The lawyers lawyer; Lorena sobs at Manuel's bedside; Ric and Sofia kiss; El Ciego walks an applauding gantlet of fellow inmates; Michelle traffics; the sun rises; the sun sets.]

Part 3 of 3: You get a cliffhanger! And you! And you! Everybody gets a cliffhanger!

3.1 Condominium of Deja Vu

Elena fetches up on Ricardo's doorstep with Natalia and Fede, who is still being a complete tick. Elena says she found drugs in Fede's backpack and needs Ric to talk to him, but Fede lashes out. "You can't tell me anything! You're not my father!" he shouts, and storms off to his room. (This seems kind of harsh after all the trouble Ric went to to actually become his father. Doesn't he remember the ice cream cones?) Ric retains his poker face through it all -- oh, right; he always looks like that. It's decided that Elena and the kids will move in with him while they sort it out. What could possibly go wrong?

3.2 Little House in the Old Nabe

Juan arrives to make peace with his mother. He admits he's made mistakes, trying to appear to be something he's not, and promises that things will be different. Mami tells him she's concerned about the company he keeps, but she realizes he's a grown man (well, technically) and she has no right to tell him what to do. He limply defends Tatiana. She says she realizes she can't change his mind and just hopes that when he finally wakes up and smells the cheap perfume, it's not too late for him to be happy.

3.3 Sickbay of Devil's Bargains

Sonia visits Alan in his hospital room and offers him witness protection if he'll flip on Carlos. In the fastest deal ever struck on late-night TV, Alan says to count him in. Really. That's it.

3.4 Courtroom of Armageddon

The gang's all there for El Ciego's trial. The man himself is as goofy and unhinged as usual, giving Alonso a perky little wave. Carlos arrives with Nancy, which tips Javier off that she was working against him all along. ("And they wonder why I don't trust people!") The clerk asks if they're ready for the judge, but Carlos says his team is waiting for one more lawyer. Caras de impactados de everyone as they slowly turn toward the door and...it's Dead Alejandra! JAJAJAJAno. It's Benjamin, of course, who's spent his time in prison practicing his sneer.

The judge arrives. Gustavo takes Lorena's hand. Alonso begins his opening statement.

"Your Honor, we are here today to...DEMAND JUSTICE."

Well, you knew that would be the last word, didn't you?

Fin.

Blue Lass....brilliant. From the title, use of term "nounkicks","You get a personality! And you! And you! Everybody gets a personality","Lorena arrives with some actual acting chops she picked up in the hospital gift shop", " the Four Bad Boyfriends of the Apocalypse," and on and on. Totally agree that Roberto and Victoria are "the only couple in this telenovela who have any chemistry at all."

so el ciego has his own sad background story of the wronged father, and surprise surprise Carlos finds his balls and assembles a team of misfits to defend the indefensible! Guess who the "tu" was?

It seems pretty clear there will be a III, yes? David Zepeda still needs work and who else hires him? Any clue on how long it will take to roll out another season? Any suggestion its already in progress? I still find many of the Vega firms legal wins inconceiveable but will continue to suspend reality when necessary. Can't see how Carlos continue to continue but maybe it depends on who has the better long term Univision contract?

Look forward to the next installment and thanks to all the incredible recappers who made this telenovela so much better than what the Univision writers had to offer

Dona Felipa, according to Wikipedia, "Executive producer José Alberto Castro has said that he does not know if he will carry out a third season of the telenovela, but he left open all the elements to continue it if Televisa decides to do it later." The story below, in Spanish, talks about his new telenovela, "Medicos," which is supposed to debut before the end of this year. José Elías Moreno has already been cast.

So Juan hasn’t reformed..still carries torch for Tatiana...Like that Lorena ends with Gus, surly teen Fede never
gets his recovery....Javier never gets an office romance.....
My complaint? Too many shots of the city, buildings.......just get to ‘El grano’. Thanks for recapping. Four BadMen ———love it.

Fin. Por fin!

"Dead Alejandra" in the courtroom! Alejandra's Bad Party, lol... she may have pursued her own Dynasty, but we can still kick her around over here.

I especially loved the lines wondering if Fede remembers the ice cream cones, and the Eco Container of Bamboo Flooring. Nothing is sexier than an environmentally conscious narcotrafico.

I had to crack up at the very end when it showed all of their faces, one by one. It looked just like The Californians on SNL.

Hopefully there will be a Season 3 so Manuel isn't stuck in coma limbo forever.

Thank you so much to the recappers. UA, you really went above and beyond. Anita and Blue, you contributed so much fun and pizazz. I hope to see you at the bufete next year!

R la O

Thanks Blue Lass!

I honestly liked season 1’s finale better but I am hoping there’ll be a third season.

Finally Roberto and Victoria kissed! I wish it had been more romantic but at least it’s a step in the right direction.

I didn’t like the beginning stages of the subplot with Fede.

Sunglasses in court...umm what? Lol what a humorous criminal El Ciego is.

I wasn’t expecting the scene with Javier and his father. Interesting. There’s obviously more backstory to Javier’s life.

One thing I would like to see if there is a season 3 is how things play out with Benjamin and Alan. Even if he’s in the WP program I’ll still like to see what happens with Alan and if Carlos tries to find him etc.

I’m officially going on another hiatus from telenovelas. I’d rather watch the Selena mini series on Telemundo when it stars next month than anything airing in prime time right now on Univision. I’m only planning on finish out Sin Tu Mirada but otherwise I’m done with Univision indefinitely.

Great work, Blue Lass.

I am truly appalled that Televisa would leave us hanging at the end of this. I also can't believe that enough people abandoned the series because of Alejandra's death. The actress can't be so overwhelmingly popular over the other cast members.

Remember how we all griped about how Alejandra wasn't tough enough in telling Carlos they were finished? That got on my last nerve just as much as his sense of entitlement to her did. I can't imagine the original female viewers feeling any differently about this. Of course, that was the gateway to El Ciego kidnapping Jaime and later killing her, two things that Carlos is now blinding himself to.

The courtroom scene that will likely not be continued (based on what we currently know) should have Jaime recognizing El Ciego's voice. The police have recordings of the calls El Ciego made to Alejandra during the ransom negotiation. That should nail him for kidnapping which may or may not be a federal offense in Mexico (It is in the US) and carry a similar prison sentence. Carlos would then feel like the world's biggest fool. Would he then continue to defend this psychopath?

As for Alan being put in witness protection, that should end Sonia's career. He killed two people. The murder of Patricia qualifies as 1st degree, Tellez as second degree (as it would appear to the law). She should offer administrative segregation instead which would amount to solitary confinement. That's what he really deserves due to other charges, especially his attempt to frame Carlos for the first murder. Either way, if he can prove what he will tell her Carlos will be up the creek without a paddle. While he didn't murder anyone he has enabled a murderer (El Ciego). His romantic involvement with the sister of El Gringo -- whenever that is discovered -- will further discredit him as a lawyer and bring down his entire firm.

Glad to see that Raul Quiroz is an honest cop and that he survived the shootout in the OK Corral.

More in the next post.

Onward...

Does Mexican law also reject double jeopardy? Benjamin should not have gotten off the way he did. He should have lost his license to practice law at the very least.

Manuel in a coma... that is horrific.

Still no final resolution about Juan and Tacky Tatiana. Well, her taste in furniture isn't bad, but she's still turning tricks. If I were writing this I would have him catch her with a client. That might be the only thing that wakes him up to reality.

Elena moving in with Ricardo to resolve Fede's problem... that will not end well. The look on her face when she hugged Ricardo says she will try to get him back, so she would be likely to play some nasty tricks on Sofia.

Roberto still needs to give Lucia the boot. She is the reason he refused to fall in love all those years. He then has to make up with his father or at least get him to admit what he had been hiding from him all this time.

Javier's father in prison... so that was his Dark Secret. No chance to explore that? I'm crying foul on JAC for this.

I don't like the idea of Gustavo and Lorena getting involved. He's old enough to be her father and workplace romances are a bad idea, especially when the parties are not peers.

Nancy wouldn't come out of this clean, either. If any of El Ciego's men are still out there she will be just as much a target as Carlos after Alan sings like a bird. But does he have any sheet music on that? Phone records might be a good start along with financial paperwork.

I'm sure Vega & Associates does not want Benjamin back, but it was a low blow to have him get released with their help and immediately start working against them.

I don't think Lorena and Gustavo will get together. I think Lorena will suffer from the Prince Charming Syndrome and fall for the rescuer (Manuel) who saved the damsel in distress. Her feeling guilty certainly won't hurt his chances with her.

The actor who portrays El Ciego has certainly acted his heart out this season. What entertainment to watch his antics!

He was definitely having a good time with this role.

Benjamin has certainly made it obvious that he has no sense of loyalty. Carlos was a fool for allowing him to join his firm but that would be a moot point if the dominoes fell logically after the last scene.

And when would anyone find out that El Gringo is dead and that Michelle killed him?

The only good thing about cliffhangers is that we get to write our own endings...

I want Roberto & Victoria to get together and start their own firm at the beach.

Tatiana becomes a nun and forms a foundation to rescue other, ejem, dancers from the life.

Juan and Fer get married and have dozens of children. Fer works as an IT genius and Juan stays home and acts like a 10-year-old all day for an appreciative audience.

Everybody else moves to Canada except Quiroz, who comes over to my house for dinner.

Thanks, Blue Lass. Always fun reading your recaps, and you skewered this (non!)finale brilliantly. My fave: Gasp! The official version was doctored! Vicky is incensed. "How on earth can anyone consecrated to La Justicia sell himself like that?" Clearly she hasn't met Nancy. Or many men.

Javier doesn't get a backstory until the final episode? Nuts

Benjamin betraying the Vegans yet again was a nice touch. But does Benji not remember how Carlos turned his back on him when he got caught?

Good point, but Benjamin was never the brightest bulb in the chandelier. Both Alonso and Ricardo told him on multiple occasions what he was doing wrong when wanting to make partner. It would take for maybe a day and then he'd be back to his usual arrogant self. In whatever little time Carlos has left as a lawyer he will see that, too. Or Nancy will.

This deserves its own post: Feliz Compleanos to our beloved Jorge Salinas on his 51st.

As long as we can write our own cliffhangers, I'd like to see Sophie's mom's Alzheimer medication keep her disease at bay and she can have some fun dating Roberto's dad.

And I guess if Quiroz is having dinner at Blue's house, I'll double date with Javier.

Did Elena already move back from Canada? I think I missed all that. I thought she left because it was dangerous. It's even more dangerous now. I can't stand the thought of her moving in to the place he picked out with Alejandra.

Blue Lass and all Recappers

I'm really going to miss reading your recaps in the middle of the night. You guys have gone above and beyond the call of duty. Your dedication is admirable.

I finally got my gunfight!

I wonder what Javier's father was put in jail for?

That's funny that El Ciego thinks he's helping the people by selling drugs to them.

I can't believe they are going to leave us hanging with regards to the Alán/Carlos thing and most everything else. That leaves a bad taste in my mouth if they aren't going to have a 3rd season. And it's probably worse than an 'unconventional' ending.

Interview on July 12, 2019 with José Alberto Castro

"El productor desconoce, hasta ahora, si realizará la tercera temporada de 'Por amar sin ley', pero dejó abierto todos los elementos para continuarla si la empresa decide hacerla más adelante."

LA Law/Law & Order. = Por Amar Sin Ley

ER/Chicago Med. = Castro's new Medical series. (Médicos for now). Why can't we have both???? I guess El Güero can't produce more than one series at a time

It will be hard to see José Elías Morena as a protagonist after his psycho role in 'Pasión'.

Does anyone know how to be notified if they make a 3rd season of PASL??

Hi. I don't watch this telenovela, but I had to tell you how much i loved the clever title !!!

Thanks, Susanlynn!

Since this was my very first final (that's a funny frase), I slaved over it to do it justice. In other words, I worked as hard as UA does every day. (Well, not quite as hard -- no screencaps.)

I don't think I'm going to watch any more series that might be extended, though, because I hate hate hate the cliffhangers. One of the most satisfying things about telenovelas is how they tie everything up at the end. Without karmageddons and happy endings, where's the payoff?

R la O, I didn't even think about the fact that the Canadian exiles were all moving into Alejandra's dream pad. Guacala.

A tour de force Blue Lass. You had me laughing at almost every line. And it's not easy to write a snarkalicous recap about a telenovela that takes itself so very very seriously.

Especially enjoyed your little asides about stone-face Ricardo. I found his rapid-release romance with Sofia pretty gag-worthy. And of course could never forget your line at the beginning of this when you said the actress always looked "like she sat on something sharp". Snickering through every near kiss and actual kiss kind of ruined the moment for me. Even if it had been someone other than Ricardo.

I would say a third season is most definite given the gazillion dangling threads they left. But you wound it up with a delicious recap and I think everyone appreciates the Herculean day to day recaps that UA posted for so long. She's a marvel.

Hope everybody gets a chance to relax, drink some beach drinks with little umbrellas and speculate all they want about Roberto and Victoria. I'm counting on them as a couple although I realize that Opinions Vary.

Thanks again. Laughter is the best medicine and you served up a boatload.

Judy: I was not impressed by the Gran Final because of the cliffhanger & too many loose ends.

Back from the wedding festivities. Got caught up with PASL, reading UA's fantastic write-ups BEFORE WATCHING, so I could skip the dull parts EXCEPT FOR EL GRAN FINAL. Saved that to savor watching the whole wrap-up BEFORE READING Blue's fantastic wrap-up.

Amigos y amigas, was this really EL FIN? I was looking around for the sign that it was truly THE END. It didn't feel like the end of the series, just another episodio. I thought maybe I'd not recorded EL FIN and checked my DVR TWICE. Yep it was EL MAS NECIO FINAL I've ever watched. NO BODA!

So, Javier's daddy was in prison and that's why he couldn't play in a sandbox full of vegans? Puleeeeeze.

What on earth was slimy Ben going to add to the defense of El Ciego? That the Vega lawyers tried to suborn him?

Did Elena and the toddlers really have to come back to haunt us at the last minute? Poor idea. Nobody's going to care about the Elena-Sofia-Ric triangle. Oh, maybe that was the whole idea. Nobody is going to care that there won't be a 3d season. These characters use-by dates have expired.

OK, I have to admit, Blue's finale was tons better than the real one. LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE. Now I can sleep better in my 90F. heat, knowing the whole thing was a joke.

P.S. We should add NOUNKICKS to our Caray vocabulary list.

UA--Did you ever get your lobster dimmer [sic]? I wanted to comment from afar to ask the wattage and was it worth it.

Welcome back, Anita! Hope you're ready to dive back into POQUITO...it's in ultimas semanas.

Anita, welcome back! I checked for "El Fin" too. No "continuará" either. Pretty insulting to Viewerville not to tell us something. But maybe the credits guy saw the tired Elena-Sofia-Ric triangle coming and understandably called it quits.

Anita, it was a lobster dinner that ultimately became crab because Red Lobster is now in Crabfeat mode. I highly recommend the Ultimate Crab Trio.

Important point about Season 2: It went into production a month after season 1 ended in Mexico and was in the can until March of this year (Season 1 was done the same way). That meant that the entire series was shot before it began airing. I'm sure that this meant they were hoping for a third season. Considering that they used to shoot closer to air date in the past I found this rather surprising.

Once the last flashback of Alejandra aired Ana Brenda Contreras should have been removed from the credits.

El Ciego's trial would have been interesting:

--- Roberto's team discovered that the restaurant's security video had been tampered with. That would have demanded a new investigation which would have to lead back to Nancy.
--- The fingerprint issue about El Ciego's original hideout screamed for a new investigation. No way on earth (or elsewhere) would there have been no fingerprints in that place.
--- We don't know whether Herrera survived the shooting. His name would come up in these investigations and unless Nancy helped him desecrate the police car (which I began doubting a while ago) her name would come up in this if he survived.
--- As I mentioned above, Jaime would recognize the voices of El Ciego and at least one of his goons. He was blindfolded the entire time of his captivity and would have depended on his hearing for any possible clue.
--- While Carlos had managed to maintain his cool all this time, the above might just have been enough to make him lose it.

The best part? If all this came out in the courtroom before Alan ratted out Carlos, Sonia could cancel her deal with that devil because Carlos would go to prison on a whole bunch of charges connecting him to El Ciego.

I meant "Crabfest."

Ana Brenda Contreras will not be part of Dynasty Season 3. I wonder if she left on her own or she was let go. She had to leave this show for that, I hope she didn't burn bridges with Televisa and could still star on a new telenovela soon

Jecoup: Ana Brenda Contreras is out on "Dynasty" ? Does this mean she's coming back to Televisa ?

Forg/Jecoup

It says ABC is leaving Dynasty for 'personal' reasons; what those reasons are, who knows. Hopefully, they won't revive her if there is a third season of PASL. IMO the audience liked the love triangle between Ricardo, Carlos, and Alejandra more than just ABC, as was implied because of the lower ratings of Season 2.

You really think so? After the first few weeks I found it irritating. Two grown men -- both effective at their work -- acting like schoolboys over their rivalry in every aspect of their lives grates on my nerves. Especially when the woman they are fighting over can't find her spine to really tell off the one she decided was not going to be part of her future.

The "personal reasons" statement always sounds like a cover-up for someone having been a high-maintenance diva. I have no tolerance for that.

I hope Ana Brenda doesn't come back, but if she does, as either she didn't really die or as Alejandra's unrelated twin (they say we all have one) in the universe, then I hope one of El Ciego's thugs off Ricardo so we can get rid of Zepeda and replace him with someone who can really act and have even a smidge of chemistry with her. Getting rid of Ricardo will automatically get rid of the need for Elena and her overgrown toddlers.

I Liked the last scenes in the courtrm
Where all the surprises start to our.
They/we see who is really who. And also while thats going on Alan's about
To sing his evil heart out to madam
DA. If there's a 3rd season this will
Be priceless. A BIG "IF". They set it
Up for one, so we'll probly get one.

Thank you Blue Lass great recap.

Hopefully, Televisa looks at having a second season at the end of 2020 since Guërro plans on doing his Medical series this year.

Or we can hope that he isn't able to get his production up and running in time to air it at the end of this season. Instead maybe he'll pull together the cast he already has on board for PASL and pick up where Season 2 ended. Then he can introduce new characters as Season 3 progresses.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone, and thanks for coming along on the ride -- it's been fun.
