Ep 53: Part 1 Crushed Hearts and Pummeled Ribs

At Luxor, Charly approaches Yameli and asks if she knew that Diana was having him followed. After Yameli denies knowing anything, Charly asks if Diana has mentioned anything to her since he knows that they are close friends. Yameli again denies being friends with Diana…she can’t be friends with Diana since she had an affair with Charly. Charly then wants to talk about what happened at her apartment, but Yameli refuses…he hurt her badly.

Yameli goes to talk to Diana and praises her for a job well done at the meeting; she hurt Charly where it hurts him the most…his ego. Diana then asks Yameli to work with her and be her right hand, but Yameli hesitates because Charly will have a fit. After Diana tells her that she will take care of Charly, Yameli agrees to her proposal and they go see Roko who is there for an audition. Roko is thrilled to work with Charly Flow, but Diana and Yameli make it clear that he will be working with the woman who made Charly Flow a success.

Yameli calls Juanjo to update him on what is happening at Luxor….she will now be working with Diana now; and she will have to pretend that she had no choice but to accept Diana’s offer. Yameli then asks about Erick, but Juanjo admits hasn’t been able to talk to him. After they hang up, Wendy approaches Juanjo so he quickly admits that he was talking to Yameli, but Wendy assures him that she’s not complaining. She again apologizes for what happened with his siblings whom she adores and suggests that they have lunch together at their house…she’s cooking (um-hum, it probably won’t be just food that she will be cooking!)

Toño and Charly arrive at Don Edgar’s warehouse. After they enter, they see Don Edgar sitting somberly in his throne…and wearing a less colorful outfit (to match his mood?). Don Edgar reports that the last job did not go well; the cops confiscated all the drugs and the money. Charly thinks it’s just a ploy to steal his money, but Don Edgar doesn’t take the accusation well and points his gun at Charly’s head.

Diana meets with Linares, the new accountant, who reports that he has found significant discrepancies in the accounting books…it can only mean that money is being laundered. Diana tells him to continue his audit and report back to her. After he leaves, Javier calls Diana and they agree to meet at her apartment.

At the warehouse, Don Edgar’s goon, Bombón is getting a good feel for Charly’s ribs as he beats him. After Don Edgar stops Bombón, he tells Charly that he should be glad that his uncle was his friend; otherwise Charly would be worm food. After he tells him that he doesn’t want to see him there again, he also tells Toño not to bring Charly back or they will both be dead. Once at Charly’s car, Charly complains because he was counting on that money; so Toño points out that they will both be killed if Charly insists on dealing with Don Edgar.

Yameli goes to visit Vanessa to talk about Ruko. Vanessa denies seeing Ruko again, but every time she goes out, she fears seeing him. Yameli assures Vanessa that she will help her, but she needs Ruko’s number. While Vanessa goes to get coffee, Yameli sees a baby photo of Erick. She recalls the day of his birth and handing him over to her grandmother. When Vanessa returns and sees that she is crying, Yameli confides that she lost a baby…and every time she sees a photo of a baby with a mother, her heart is crushed. Yameli then tells Vanessa that no one knows about her baby and asks that Vanessa keep it to herself. After Vanessa agrees, Yameli gets back to the conversation regarding Ruko and asks Vanessa about this friends. When Vanessa shares that Ruko has two friends named Mich and Roberto, Yameli asks for their numbers too.

Ep 53: Part 2 Crushed Hearts and Pummeled Ribs

Juanjo arrives home to find Wendy smiling and a table nicely set for two. Juanjo has something to tell Wendy, but he doesn’t know how she will take it. He is, however, distracted when he sees the table, so Wendy explains that she just wants them to have some special time together.

Ruko is at his house when Yameli calls Ruko pretending to be Patricia who wants something to make her feel good. After questioning her, he agrees to meet her at a park to give her the goods. Once they hang up, Yameli dances a little jig and comments about how stupid Ruko is.

Charly is in his car and watches as Javier arrives at Diana’s apartment building and Diana comes out and hugs him. Once they enter the apartment, Charly gets down and knocks on the door of the apartment building. Inside, Diana admits to Javier that she likes him, but she can’t get into a relationship because of everything that is happening to her. Javier likes Diana too, and he does want something more serious with her. After they agree to take it slow, Charly walks in and tells Diana that they need to talk. When she wonders how he got in, he remarks that those are the benefits of being famous. Diana tells Charly to leave…they can talk at the office. After Charly and Javier acknowledge each other, Javier offers to leave, but Diana remarks that the one who needs to leave is Charly. After Charly gets huffy and berates Diana for moving on so quickly after their divorce, Javier defends Diana and tells Charly not to speak to Diana in such a way, but Charly thinks he can speak to Diana any way he wants since she is his wife. Diana quickly retorts that she is not his wife and demands that he leave. Charly insists; so Diana agrees to go to another room to talk to him and asks Javier to wait for her there. Once alone, Charly tells Diana that she has gone too far…she looked for someone who looks like him. Afterwards he gets down to the nitty-gritty and tells Diana that he wants the presidency at Luxor returned to him. Diana refuses; so Charly threatens her and tells her that her recordings won’t do her any good. Diana, however, has more on him that she can use. After she shows him the photos of him with Toño as they look at the briefcase of money and tells him that she will use that and anything else to protect herself, Charly loses it and grabs her by the neck. He warns her to shut up or he’ll forget that she is his daughter’s mother. As he has her pinned to the wall, he grabs her hand then kisses her telling her that she is his. Javier knocks on the door and calls to Diana; so Charly lets her go and leaves. On his way out, Charly makes a call, but gets a message recording.

Diana calls Vanessa who notices that Diana sounds upset. After Diana assures her that she is fine, she invites Vanessa to the movies for the next day. After Vanessa agrees and hangs up, she shares with Lidia that she will be going to the movies with her mother. Lidia asks about Charly; so Vanessa replies that her parents continue their fighting. It seems that Diana is now in charge of Luxor; and now her parents are even fighting over Irma. Erick arrives; so Lidia asks him about Irma. As they talk, Vanessa gets a message from Ruko that he is downstairs and they need to talk. When Vanessa admits that it is Ruko, Erick storms out and goes to confront Ruko, but Vanessa and Lidia go out and intervene. After Ruko leaves, Vanessa tells Erick that she doesn’t want Ruko to hurt him like he hurt Serg, but Erick won’t just stand by with his arms crossed. Vanessa then explains that she has a restraining order against Ruko and that Yameli will be helping, but Erick doesn’t think that is enough. Meanwhile, Yameli calls a detective because she wants to file a report.

Ep 53: Part 3 Crushed Hearts and Pummeled Ribs

At Diana’s apartment, Diana is calmer as Javier sits beside her. Diana shares that the only good thing that came out of her relationship with Charly was her daughter. Javier suggests that she then focus on her daughter…it will help her move forward. He then shares that he went through a divorce also; and it was very difficult, but he got through it. Diana fears that Charly will never leave her in peace; and she doesn’t want Javier to be hurt in the process…and she has nothing to offer him. Javier assures her that when she is ready, he will be there for her.

Charly is at his apartment looking at old family photos and drinking. He tries to make a call, but gets the message recording again. Who he has been trying to call is unknown, but he gets very upset and throws the phone breaking the window.

Juanjo and Wendy are finishing up their lunch. Wendy laughs as she finishes her glass of wine; then gets up and starts kissing Juanjo. They end up in bed....and Wendy smiles in satisfaction that this may result in the baby that will tighten the lasso on Juanjo.

Next Day—

Charly and Axel are at Luxor when Charly sees Diana with Linares; so he tells Axel to go find out what they are up to. Axel quietly walks to Diana’s door and listens as Linares tells Diana that the accounting problem is serious and she could end up in jail…unless she can prove that she signed the documents without knowledge of what was being done. After Diana shares that she has a recording, Linares advises that she needs to report that person immediately. He assumes that it is someone close to her since she is having a hard time deciding what to do.

Axel rushes to Charly and tells him that Diana is going to be turning him in. Charly curses and remarks that he will kill Diana before going to prison. Axel suggests that Charly stop fighting with Diana and look for some other way to make amends, but Charly has no idea what else he can do…he needs to think about it. After Axel leaves, Charly makes a call again; and this time Toño answers since Charly has been calling him so many times. Charly needs a favor…they need to talk in person because it’s a delicate situation.

REINA

Love, love, love the title Rgv Chick. One of your best.

A lot of violence and manipulation in this one. Glad I chose to watch it in the morning for breakfast rather than last thing at night. Funny, but our minds were definitely running on the same track. When I saw Don Edgar's somber outfit, I thought Hmmmm...must be about to give Charly some sad news. He did still have on that rib-digging belt buckle, which as I recall Diana once described as "big as Bolivia". Looks darned uncomfortable. As did poor Charly.

I'm getting worried about our two "inconvenient spouses". Will Diana and Wendy both be eliminated? To clear the way for whatever their men have in mind next? Certainly some intriguing questions presenting themselves here.

Thanks a lot amiga mia. You're up late doing these great recaps, and up early tending your good animals I'm sure. Hope you can get in a little siesta time in between.

REINA-SOY

“Crushed Hearts and Pummeled Ribs” conveyed the intense emotions and dangerous actions of this perfectly Rgv Chick. I was on the edge of my seat reading your perceptive, thoughtful and superbly written recap.

“After they enter, they see Don Edgar sitting somberly in his throne…and wearing a less colorful outfit (to match his mood?)” wry and insightful. I thought the same thing – the plumage was subdued.

“Don Edgar’s goon, Bombón is getting a good feel for Charly’s ribs as he beats him”. That said, Charly does seem to be able to lick his wounds and recover relatively quickly. Just as Serg did. Remarkable powers of recuperation here…

“she’s cooking (um-hum, it probably won’t be just food that she will be cooking!)” proved to be exactly true! Yes, why does Juanjo stay? If he is truly in love with Yameli and not in love with Wendy as he’s admitted, he must choose. He cannot have his wife while he yearns for another.

Axel is going to have to make a choice eventually. He’s teetering on the edge of the dark side (without fully realizing it). I was a bit sorry he wasn’t present at Charly’s beating. That might have scared him straight.

So now Van knows Yameli lost a child. One of the worst kept secrets. Ever.

I loathe that Diana and Vanesa are both victims of violence.

Judy, you are spot on about "inconvenient spouses". At this point? I suspect Diana has a better chance for survival than Wendy who won't be going anywhere gracefully or voluntarily. Will something miraculously arise so Juanjo and Yameli can be together without guilt?

“Charly curses and remarks that he will kill Diana before going to prison”. I feel as though evil is escalating and we are seeing only a more attractive version of Monchis.

Much food for thought. Most tainted.

Thank you for this excellent recap Rgv Chick!

Diana

Good Morning, Diana and JudyB! ...and anyone else who is lurking or will stop by later...

Diana and JudyB, my stalwart Caraymates, thank you so much for your kind remarks. Yes, Judy, I don't go to bed until I finish the recap. It does get late because I am unable to see the episode until I finish with my animals...that's usually about an hour later than it airs; so sometimes I rush to finish and just write exactly what I perceive without any extras or colorful sides. I really do appreciate your very considerate and generous remarks.

JudyB, "inconvenient spouses" I think I worry more about Diana than Wendy (BTW last night according to my CCs, Wendy was named Catalina...QTH?). Diana has been Charly's victim all along and she has been pretty up front about her feelings and what she is capable of doing. Wendy, OTOH, is devious and pretentious. She somewhat reminds me of Lucreepy though not to the same degree...yet. If Wendy does get "eliminated," I don't think it will be at the hands of Juanjo or Yameli, but it could be her own doing. Her statement that "I can't live without you" (in the previous episode) sent chills down my spine. Will she eventually try the attempted suicide card?

Diana, about Juanjo..." He cannot have his wife while he yearns for another." Exactly! I was SO hoping that he would call out Yameli's name as they made love...and once again the writers kept us hanging. WHen he arrived home, Juanjo told Wendy tha he had something to tell her that she would probably no t like...but he never said anything. I was hoping he was going to reveal his true feelings, but he just kept his mouth shut and had that "DUH" look he always seems to have.

I worry about Axel. His devotion to Charlie has me stumped; and I am afraid that he will be another of Charly's casualties. Yameli seems to have completely dropped her interest in him...I guess that little talk she had with him about a singing career was only a ploy to manipulate him (sigh).

Thank you, Rgv Chick.

"this may result in the baby that will tighten the lasso on Juanjo" - the right word - lasso.

Charly wants to talk to Toño about Diana. And what can Toño do? Review accounting books? The only thing he is good at is use a brass knuckle or a gun.

Yamelí's DEA connections are proving useful. She called some drug enforcement guy about Ruco, referencing Rizzo.

REINA-SOY

Thanks Lucio, especially for pointing out, "Yamelí's DEA connections are proving useful. She called some drug enforcement guy about Ruco, referencing Rizzo." And she did mention previously to Juanjo that, if she found evidence on Charly, she would call Rizzo so that he could come after Charly.

Sooo, NudyB, there is a chance we might see Rizzo again :-) But what about Ja-a-ack? Will we never see him again?

REINA-SOY

RgvChick, "...sometimes I rush to finish and just write exactly what I perceive without any extras or colorful sides". What you write is incredible and your summaries incorporate everything they need to and much, much more. A feast for the eyes, mind and heart. This speaks to your natural talent and abilities. I know you have many responsibilities as our Judy noted and what you give to us each day is beyond generous.

Lucio, thanks for your insight. And no, I don't think Tono will "review accounting books". Will he really have Diana wasted???

I would love to see Jack swoop in and take Yameli's heart. I still think Juanjo is a lifeline - it's there and she needs something/someone to believe in and now, it's him.

Diana

"REINA":

Diana: I do NOT see Jack sweeping Yameli off her feet.

Thanks so much to Chickie and Diana for their wonderful recaps which let me keep up with the story while I was not able to watch it.I also looked forward to the comments every day. I saw it last night .

I agree , Chickie, that Juanjo usually seemed to have that "duh" deer in the headlights look in his face. ...and the hairdo doesn't help that look.

I get a kick out of the fact that Diana is always in a cocktail dress even when she is just hanging around the house. Doesn't she ever wear capris and a tee shirt and flipflops?

Susanlynn: Diana's got a cocktail dress ? ROFLOL!

Ep 54: Part 1 Entrapments and Conspiracies

Juanjo takes Wendy breakfast in bed. Wendy is pleasantly surprised, but when she brings up dreaming about Yameli and her son and tries to figure out who the father is, Juanjo gets upset and tells her to ask Yameli. When Juanjo adds that he is “trying” to do things right with her, Wendy focuses on why he is “trying” and points out that every time she brings up Yameli, he tenses up and gets upset. Juanjo doesn’t understand why Wendy obsesses about Yameli…she should just let Yameli live in peace and Wendy should focus on their life together.

At the police station, Yameli meets with the detective and they plan on how they will take Ruko down. When Yameli mentions that Ruko has a prior arrest and the restraining order that Vanessa has against him, the detective assures her that Ruko will spend many years in jail. While there, Yameli sets the time for her meeting with Ruko.

At Surround Vibes, Wendy sits on Juanjo’s lap (don’t they have enough chairs?) while they listen to Erick record his new song inspired by Vanessa’s and Serg’s relationship. As Erick sings, Wendy suggests that they should sign up another artist to compete with Luxor. When she mentions Yameli, Juanjo warns her not to use Yameli’s name since Erick might overhear her.

At Luxor, Charly approaches Diana and tells her that he is going to see Vanessa. When Diana tells him that she made plans to see her, Charly teasingly holds her close and suggests that they all go out and spend time together…then he smirks and tells Diana that he is just kidding.

Yameli sits in the park disguised in a cap and sunglasses when Ruko approaches her and sits beside her. As they start talking, undercover cops are closing in. After Ruko shows her the merchandise, he recognizes her and threatens her with a blade, but the undercover cops quickly run up with guns drawn and arrest Ruko.

At Surround Vibes, Erick finishes his song. After Wendy asks him about “Lari,” Erick mentions that she is helping Vanessa be rid of Ruko. Juanjo quickly walks away and calls Yameli who describes how Ruko was taken down. Afterwards, Yameli comments on how Diana has turned out to be so courageous…she smiles as she expresses that Diana, who seems to hate Charly more than she does, will turn Charly in. Yameli looks forward to Charly going to prison, justice will finally be done and Yameli can let go of everything she is feeling. Right after Juanjo hangs up, Wendy approaches; so Juanjo explains how Yameli helped Vanessa. Wendy doesn’t understand how Yameli can hate Charly yet help his family…what Yameli says she feels and what she does just doesn’t jive. When Juanjo reminds her that they had agreed to butt out of Yameli’s life, Wendy snaps that he is the one who ran out to call Yameli.

Charly meets with Toño and tells him that Diana has a photo of them together…and Diana threatened to turn them in. Toño doesn’t seem worried since the cops are already after him. He is about to leave, but Charly threatens that if he gets caught, Toño will also go to prison. Toño sits back down and tells Charly that they will have to get rid of his ex, but Charly just wants Toño to give Diana a little scare. Charly also wants to make sure that Vanessa is not around Diana; so the plan is to do the job the next day.

Diana arrives to see Vanessa. Vanessa expresses how much she misses Diana and her father; she wishes that they could all go out together without any arguments. Diana thinks that will be difficult since things are worse at Luxor. When Vanessa asks that they at least try to stop fighting less, Diana assures her that she has tried, but it’s like talking to the wall. When Diana mentions that there are serious things going on, Vanessa assumes that Charly is going out with other women, but still hopes that they can get along…for her sake.

Ep 54: Part 2 Entrapments and Conspiracies

Axel arrives at Charly’s house expecting to find some young thangs, but Charly wants to talk business…he wants to pay “payola” (bribe someone to promote someone/something)…for Irma. Axel questions Charly since Diana is managing Irma and is the main shareholder of Luxor, but Charly tells him not to worry; things will be changing and Axel should just leave things to Charly.

Juanjo invites Wendy to lunch when he gets a call from Cris Vega who asks to work with Juanjo since he knows that Juanjo is honest…unlike Charly who is a cheat and a liar. Wendy thinks it would be good to sign on Cris, but Juanjo has his doubts since Cris has an attitude. Wendy insists that they sign on Cris; she will manage Cris and anyone else they can sign on so that Juanjo can focus on Erick.

Axel asks Charly if he asked Yameli about the detective. When Charly confirms that he did ask Yameli about it and she got furious, Axel wonders why she would have gotten so angry. Charly doesn’t know and doesn’t seem to care…all he knows is that Yameli will end up with him; she just needs to get over her little tantrum and he will woo her once more. Charly then tries to call Yameli who is at her home, but she declines the call and, instead, reads another letter Juanjo had sent her regarding her birthday. She gets a second letter and reads that Juanjo and Charly no longer talk to each other ever since Juanjo found out that Charly slept with her and was a coward; Juanjo will always be loyal to Yameli because he loves her. Meanwhile, Juanjo and Wendy are in bed. Juanjo looks over at Wendy who has her back to him and seems to be asleep. After Juanjo turns his back to Wendy, he thinks about Yameli…the woman he truly loves.

Next Day—

Yameli is asleep on her bed surrounded by all of Juanjo’s letters. She dreams of telling her grandmother that she thinks she has found Mateo. When she tells her grandmother that all she needs now is to end with Charly, her grandmother advises her to “Let it go.” Charly’s phone call wakes her; and she once again declines the call. Charly is beside himself and tries calling from his house phone, but she still doesn’t answer.

At Luxor, Mike goes into Charly’s office and finds Axel sitting comfortably in Charly’s chair (with his feet up). After Axel tells Mike that he needs to do whatever needs to be done to make sure that Irma’s song is a success and hands him an envelope of money as an incentive, Mike questions why Axel is handling this deal; so Axel explains that he is the president’s Executive Assistant. Mike smirks and comments that he now understands…Axel is the messenger. Mike wants Axel to tell Charly that he expects to deal with Charly, not messengers, but when Axel reminds him that he has the money in his hands, Mike agrees to play Irma’s song so often that everyone will be dreaming about it.

At his station, Mike plays Irma’s song. As it plays, kids listen and dance to it. Meanwhile, Charly arrives at Luxor and tells Irma that her song was leaked and is now being played by the radio stations…but she has nothing to worry about because it seems to be a hit…everyone is requesting it. When Irma responds that she does worry because she is not sure who will be producing her songs, Charly assures her that both he and Diana will produce her songs since they are partners. Irma isn’t quite convinced, so Charly suggests that she just relax and “go with the flow;” she should leave things to him…he will take care of everything.

Ep 54: Part 3 Entrapments and Conspiracies

At his office, Charly enters to find Lidia waiting for him. She has come to talk to him about Diana, but Charly doesn’t want to talk about her. He agrees to talk about Vanessa whom he wants living with him. Lidia advises him to talk peacefully with Diana and not make a war out of it. When she mentions what happened with Monchis, Charly gets upset and thinks that she is comparing him to that to that psychopath. Lidia clarifies that she is not comparing him to anyone, but Charly might say and do things that he might regret later. After Lidia asks if he loves Vanessa and he replies that he would give his like for her, Lidia advises that he work things out with Diana because this isn’t doing Vanessa any good. As Lidia leaves, she bumps into Diana who wants to talk to Charly. After they go into her office, Diana questions Charly about talking to Irma and her song being leaked…she knows Charly had something to do with it, but Charly denies it. He then asks if Diana is going to turn him in and reminds her that it will affect their daughter who will have nothing if he goes to prison. Diana reminds him that everything is Charly’s doing…and she is going to make him pay….peso by peso. After Charly storms out of Diana’s office, he calls Toño and tells him that he wants the job done…today.

At Surround Vibes, Cris is in Juanjo’s office, as is Wendy and Erick. Juanjo asks to talk to Wendy privately and questions why she arranged a meeting with Cris without telling him. Wendy denies arranging the meeting; Cris arrived early and she couldn’t turn him away. When Wendy wonders why Juanjo is hesitating in signing up Cris, Juanjo explains that he doesn’t like Cris’s attitude…Cris reminds him of Charly. Juanjo prefers to work with artists who have a positive attitude like Erick…who isn’t too happy to see Cris there. Wendy argues that it will bring about some competitiveness between the two singers and they will do better.

In Juanjo’s office, Cris defends all the bad things he said about Charly…since they are true and that’s probably why Erick didn’t go with Charly. As Erick explains that he didn’t sign with Charly for very different reasons, Wendy and Juanjo return and ask to talk to Cris alone. Cris tries to give Juanjo some of his recordings, but Juanjo refuses them since they were recorded at Luxor. When Juanjo tells Cris that he will have to audition, Cris questions the requirement since Juanjo already knows him, but when Juanjo insists, Cris concedes and assures Juanjo that he will not be disappointed. After Cris leaves, Wendy questions why Juanjo was so hard on Cris…he made him nervous. Juanjo points out that if Cris gets nervous with him, Wendy should consider how Cris will react on a stage in front of an audience.

At Luxor, Diana confides to Yameli that the accountant warned her that things are not going to be very easy; if she doesn’t want to go to jail, then she will have to turn in Charly. Yameli quickly urges Diana to turn Charly in and adds that though they were together for many years, Diana can’t go to prison; Charly is the one who did all the dirty dealings so he is the one that should go to prison. Yameli then reminds Diana that she needs to think of Vanessa and asks her to think of her daughter when she makes her decision.

Charly meets with Toño and tells him that he almost backed out. He now wants to know what Toño is planning; so Toño explains that he will probably grab Diana and lock her up somewhere so that she won’t talk. When Charly reminds him that Diana can’t recognize Toño, Toño retorts that he is a professional…he just needs Charly to get him Diana’s schedule so that he can figure out where he is going to grab her. Charly orders Toño not to do anything until he gets his call…and he’d better not let things get out of hand.

Simply superb Rgv Chick.

Powerful and engrossing. Your insight and understanding of the characters and situations are beyond impressive. Your clear vision and how you express these are riveting...

"Axel arrives at Charly’s house expecting to find some young thangs" and “At Surround Vibes, Wendy sits on Juanjo’s lap (don’t they have enough chairs?)” were my favorites among many.

Despite growing up in Monchis world, Charly appears to have little or no understanding of what being part of the "life" actually entails. Knowing Tono's brutality, does he honestly think no real harm will come to Diana when he orders a "scare"? Has the fact Tono, (a smaller but equally scarier Luca Brasi) is part of the incriminating evidence not registered with him?

Irma is regretting her decision to sign with Luxor more every time we see her...

We know Wendy has a pregnancy plan but what else is she plotting?? Juanjo now has absolutely no privacy, let alone independence. Wendy is shadowing him, here, there and everywhere to the point he can't make a call or a move where she is not within eye or ear shot. She is failing to cloak her resentment of Yameli, not even bothering to keep her voice down when she says her name in public.

A wiser man than Juanjo would have assessed his marriage for what it is and extricated himself. Wendy professes her love and insists she wants to change. Yet it's easy to see she doesn't want to nor is she capable of doing so. "After Juanjo turns his back to Wendy, he thinks about Yameli…the woman he truly loves". And if he stays with Wendy, she will become the woman he loathes.

"When she tells her grandmother that all she needs now is to end with Charly, her grandmother advises her to “Let it go.” Wise words from beyond. Instead of stewing in revenge, Yameli should focus on reclaiming her son. All the love she had for Erick is coursing through her veins. While revenge may be sweet at that moment, the savagery will linger keeping her from moving forward.

Rgv Chick, thank you. Outstanding.

Diana

REINA

RGV CHICK....First of all, I have to agree with Diana's comment from yesterday that your recaps are sterling and totally professional. I am amazed at what you can do with the little time you have and the many responsibilities you're carrying, both at CarayCaray and at home. Kudos to you amiga.

On last night's episode, of course Diana and I picked the same line:

At Surround Vibes, Wendy sits on Juanjo’s lap (don’t they have enough chairs?)Too funny...but...

I have to admit I'm always "Ahh, kids, just make up and make it work" when I see those two seemingly getting along. But I also have to admit that Juanjo's heart is elsewhere, and therefore the marriage is doomed.

Amazing what our early formation does to us. I was raised (like Prudencia in Mirada) that "marriage is forever". So I'm definitely biased--except in cases of the Three A's-- adultery, alcoholism or abuse. But the world has indeed changed, and now we see marriage as the fulfillment of personal happiness. If it's not ringing your chimes, time to move on.

So clearly Juanjo will soon be out of there.

There were lots of disturbing moments in this episode. Diana, in spite of her tough talk and new relationship, seems very vulnerable to Charley's charm. When he spoke about all three of them going to the movie together, she seemed drawn in. Until he laughed and said -Of course I'm joking!

How chilling to know he is willing to put her into Toño's violent hands in order to regain control of Luxor. I guess that's another reason I'm usually against divorce. It brings out our worst tendencies.

Let it go JudyB! "It's just a story, just a story!"

Axel, in his tentative way, (even with feet up on desk) seems to be the voice of reason and gentle defender of family loyalty and ethics. But Charly is certainly not going to listen to him.

One final thought: Was Charley's assertion that "he would die for his daughter" a clue? Violence is always lurking around the edges of this story. And if Charly could die a semi-noble death, all of his family and Yameli could move on. As much as NudyB loves Mr. Charley's contours, a flaming exit, without court trial or imprisonment, might be the best solution.

Thank you hard-working lady. You never disappoint. Unlike some of these characters!

"And if Charly could die a semi-noble death, all of his family and Yameli could move on".

Your statement and rationale made oh so much sense Judy...

I've always felt that Charly's children would find it difficult if not impossible to abandon their father totally if he is sentenced to prison. Erick has too big a heart and Vanesa does love her parents although she's seen the very worst in them.

I can't remember if the Vanesa tattoo on Charly's neck has always been there but it was prominently displayed last night. And I've never doubted he loves his daughter - even for a moment. Perhaps there is a bit of good in all of us.

Diana has the promise of a new beginning and Van has her entre life before her. Hopefully Erick's existence will open Yameli's heart to love and eradicate the anger and hurt that she is mired in.

Thank you, Rgv Chick.

Capture of Ruco by Yamelí was noteworthy. Although nobody noticed it. But if Vanesa or Eric gave it a thought, what Yamelí did was impressive. And indicates that there is more to her that meets the eye, likely law enforcement connections.

JudyB, "How chilling to know he is willing to put her into Toño's violent hands in order to regain control of Luxor." So far Diana, with Yamelí's help, has been able to outsmart Charly. But how can she outsmart violence?

REINA-SOY

Thank you, Diana and JudyB. I can always count on you to make my feathers spread like a peacock; your critiques are always so kind and generous. And I can always count on the patio's insight and eloquence to convey my own thoughts.

JudyB, "But the world has indeed changed, and now we see marriage as the fulfillment of personal happiness. If it's not ringing your chimes, time to move on." I have been thinking about this quite a bit lately, especially with the most recent TNs. Yes, times are changing and I'm sure the writers are wanting to stay up with the times, but to have shows where NO ONE seems to have the will and devotion to overcome all obstacles for their love is a bit overwhelming and unbelievable...this is not representative of RL...at least I sure hope not.

Right now, the person I worry about the most is Diana, whom as you have stated JudyB is still very vulnerable to Charly's charm..and she is starting to change for the better. When Charly turns on the charm she seems to melt; I hope she doesn't get burned.

And, "Was Charley's assertion that "he would die for his daughter" a clue? " Good question, JudyB. you may be on to something. Though he is dealing dirty and has had his hand in much of what has happened to Yameli, I don't see him as evil--egotistical, rude, and materialistic to the point where he will do anything short of murder to get what he wants, yes, but diabolical, no. I agree with Diana, "Charly appears to have little or no understanding of what being part of the "life" actually entails." So you may be right, Judy, a flaming exit might be the best solution for him so that those close to him can move on.

Diana, "We know Wendy has a pregnancy plan but what else is she plotting?? Juanjo now has absolutely no privacy, let alone independence. Wendy is shadowing him, here, there and everywhere..." The woman is like a leech; sooner or later, Juanjo is going to blow a gasket; I'm thinking it'll be later since he is such a weenie. I am mot liking him at all for Yameli who is strong and assertive...unless Yameli wants a doormat, which I doubt. I'm now thinking that even Rizzo, who might come back, would be a better choice for her...or maybe she should just remain single . As the saying goes, "Mejor sola que mal acompañda" (best to be alone than in bad company).

And Diana, "When she tells her grandmother that all she needs now is to end with Charly, her grandmother advises her to “Let it go.” Wise words from beyond. Instead of stewing in revenge, Yameli should focus on reclaiming her son." This could be the beginning of Yameli's change in attitude; and she just may do as you suggest. Yameli now has someone to live for and someone who needs to see her as the kind, loving girl she used to be. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Chickie, thank you so much for het another outstanding recap.

Do we have some foreshadowing with Charly telling Lydia that he would die to protect Vanessa, the one person besides himself whom he seems to truly love..and Lydia maybe. Is that how Charly will die?

Charley wants Tono to "scare" Diana???? Does he not remember how To no used to "scare" Charly for Monchis??? ...by beating him brutally.

Charley in his jeggings and wild shirts is watching his little world spinning out of control, and he is desperate to salvage that world...the money, the fame, the pleasures, the power. This will not end well.

Wendy is now resorting to physically holding juanjo down by sitting on him.

REINA

Rgv Chick, because Tono is merciless I am joining you and Judy at the being afraid for Diana table. No doubt Diana is still susceptible to Charly's charms (as was/is Yameli). But I love that Diana channels her fierceness into cunning, into finding a solution and fighting fire with fire.

"Wendy is now resorting to physically holding juanjo down by sitting on him". Great Susalynn :)

LA REINA SOY YO -Let me first say that "Crushed Hearts and Pummeled Ribs" sums up this entire tn's essence and might even make for a great C&W tune. That being said, after binging a week and a half to get here, eagerly awaiting cap. 55, thank you to both Diane and RGV for some great recapping. "The Plumage" as a descriptor for Don Edgar, naco narco in chief, was priceless--whoever came up with that! I immediately thought of that eye-catching ruffled pelt at the back of Don E's head--almost like a gobler al revés. --Arturo Peniche may have only a bit part in this but he's truly made it his own and memorable.

I had no idea what to expect at the beginning of this tn, but I was so impressed with both Polo Morín (hasn't he come a long way from glasses boy in Mi Corazon Es Tuyo?) and Lambda Garcia--hiding under a TV Azteca woodpile all these years? His totally Charming Charly is so yummy that if I was 40 years younger I'd be a fangirl of his too. Judy B, if they send him to sing with the angels at the end of this it will be the Angels 1, Man zippo. Charley Flow is weak willed, though, and like river water, he will "flow" wherever the easiest path of resistance takes him. So, stealling Yami's songs, relying on Monchis to do the dirtywork for him, and later on, knowing how Monchis usually handled things for him, it's just natural to run to Toño to get a bit of dirty work done for him again by his tio's top man. I see Charly in prison in the end --justicia, yes?-- and giving Ruko a righteous roughing up while there.

As for "Entrapments and Conspiracies" -- Juanjo and Wendy are a timebomb waiting to explode. Juanjo doesn't have the courage of his convictions in the longrun and is letting himself be pushed along with the flow also. Wendy and Momma have some 'splainin to do and we see that Wendy comes by "it" naturally -- Momma needs an intervention and Wendy needs to be sat down on her haunches rather forceably. Juanjo, your time is upppppp! iLleva los pantalones de una buena vez!
