Valeria asks CataG for permission to go to Las Vegas alone, might snag a big fish, Cata is reluctant but bends.

Calvo swings by Hilda's to get Al's number, bumps into a Salvatore with flowers.

Albeiro meets with Salvatore, pays him off for setting up Hilda, Sal declines the money, Hilda's work will stand on it's own, and he's interested in Hilda.

Calvo meets Al at the hospital, drops the bomb, he has AIDs, Al counters with he used protection, Calvo reminds him only when he was aware (and we remember the spell he was under, and I wonder who he has had sex with over the last 2 years) Calvo points to the lab, tells him to get tested, oh and his Jefa knows someone that has a cure.

Titi meets with Dayana (so that's why she needed the house) the deal was she would kill Villa, he would get rid of Mariana, he balks, she is the mother of my daughter, I need time, Dayana lowers the deal, you don't have to kill her just get rid of her so they can rein as narcos, oh and there is a big bed, and... does she even still like girls?

afterward Titi is reminded that every girl he is with falls in love with him, or so it seems, to him.

hot on the talk with Titi, that he loves CataG more than her daughter, Mariana calls home, CataG tells her to turn herself in, I'll get right on it mom, throws the phone sim card in the toilet, Natalia on Cata's tip, tracks the phone, is it in the sewer?

Diabla catches her flight, spots Natalia, warns Mariana, but Natalia gets the pic, CataG calls her girls, they are going to Vegas.

Titi is a narco, not a nanny, he hands off his daughter to the housekeeper and books roundabout passage to Vegas, (did he pack his Amish costume?)

Salvatore gives Hilda a rose under glass, she is in on the Fashion week, no longer a contestant, stalker Calvo is on it, follows Sal and beats him down, Hilda belongs to him.

the Babes are in Vegas, Dayana loves the bright lights.

the Hand calls his guy on betrayal, bullet to the head.

CataG, dressed to kill, is off to sin city with her girls, Natalia is the only sensible one here, their backup, a Cuban guy called Osman, their mission, CataG squelches Natalia before she can spill about Mariana.

A highly selective mini-cap of tonight's episode of Preso No. 1:

Ugh, more flashbacks. They show us that Carmelo keeps moving up in the polls. Duh.

In the present, Comandante Piña (the new prison warden?) has Carmelo brought to his office. Piña tells the guards to leave. He then tells Carmelo that they're going to need his total cooperation. The new president (Benito Rivas Macin) wants peace and harmony. Carmelo should not say anything about Amador being shot. Carmelo asks "who's going to stop me?" Piña tells him to watch this video; it's the video of Sara and Carlos having sex. Camelo goes crazy. Piña restrains him physically and tells him that his daughter is fine. For now.

Ramses is told that now's the time for him to act. He's given a knife. Tuerto offers to go with him. Ramses says he'll go alone.

Ramses goes to Carmelo's cell. Carmelo is mostly worried about his daughter. He tells Ramses not to mess with his daughter. Ramses realizes that he's seen the video and tells Carmelo that he had nothing to do with the video, and that the guy in the video doesn't work for him. For a brief moment, it almost seemed as if Ramses and Carmelo might bond over being poor and from the same neighborhood, but although Ramses has contempt for the wealthy people who pay him, he tells Carmelo that he betrayed him, and betrayal can only be paid in blood. "You should have let me operate," he tells Carmelo. "Do what you have to do," replies Carmelo. Ramses also accuses Carmelo of having killed Tinajas. Carmelo denies having anything to do with Tinajas's death. He asks Ramses to give him a few days to be sure that his daughter is OK. Ramses tells him that he's going to kill him little by little.

We finally get a flashback of Miranda telling whoever is interviewing her that she adores Carmelo and would love to meet him. Miranda then goes to dinner with Dagoberto Lazcano (the head of the TV station), who tells her that Carmelo would love to meet her.

Not long after this, we have a scene between Virginia Carranza and Francisco (Carmelo's friend and lawyer). Virginia asks, "Are you asking me to seduce Carmelo so you can have Carolina?"

A prison guard asks Ramses why he hasn't yet killed Carmelo. Ramses tells him that there's a lot of unfinished business between Carmelo and himself (and we see him think about his rape of Carolina). Ramses continues:"I want to see him suffer and then I'll kill him. In the end, we'll all get what we want."

In another flashback, we see that Palao finally has his stroke. Pedro Islas is quite upset. He's also angry that his son Juan doesn't seem to care. Juan in turn tells him, "I'm your son, but I've never seen you worry about me like you worry about him." He reminds his father that when he (Juan) was kidnapped, Pedro sent a negotiator rather than come himself because he was too busy enjoying himself at a regatta. Pedro replies that the real reason was that "I didn't want to overpay for your rescue."

In yet another flashback, Carmelo meets Adan and Eva, the security team. He tells them he doesn't know why he would need an intelligence service. They tell him that he stands a good chance of becoming president and of being in danger. As they're about to leave, Eva whispers to Carmelo that the bad guys have arranged for a mass blackout to occur when he's being interviewed. The bad guys don't want peole to see Carmelo. And sure enough, right after the interview is finished, Lazcano announces that half the city didn't see the interview because of a blackout.

There's more, but I'm going to just skip to the end. Ramses and Tuerto are with Carmelo. Ramses orders Tuerto to kill Carmelo.

I'm praying Carmelo doesn't die in the end. However, I still think Sara will die because of her stupidity.

it's hard to see who works for who, like Vega, Ramses mentioned he was on the payroll, yet he seems to take orders from Pedro's guys, but then Mayorga was ready to kill him.

Hugo Piña as prison warden is the worst of all.

and so Carmelo's death has been ordered, but hey Ramses has his own agenda, he wants to kill him a little at a time, hmm, he doesn't care about Carmelo's daughter, would he care about his daughter?

interesting flashback where Ramses highjacks Carmelo's campaign party and brings him to a big narco party, maybe we will see more, Carmelo is so upfront with everyone, you have to respect him.

Tono lives, and it looks like Carmelo has a new guard for a friend, until he talks about beating Tono, the guy just wouldn't die, Carmelo gives him a strong elbow to the face, and the other guards can't touch him because Ramses wants him alive.

looks like Benito is moving into the presidential digs, his daughter has fixed up a room for Miranda, this is the bedroom that Miranda caught Carmelo with Virginia, but it's ok, they look for bugs while Miranda searches a book and finds a letter, then meets with Caro.

I too am wondering what difference it might make to Ramses to find out Sara is his biological child. However, it's even possible that he already knows or suspects this. I say this because otherwise I don't understand why he said he and Carmelo had unfinished business and at the same time had a memory of his rape of Caro.

I'm really glad you mentioned the scene where Benito's daughter was talking to Miranda inside the presidential palace. I wanted to include that in the mini-cap, but I ran out of steam and just wanted to get to bed. I'm glad Miranda mentioned the likelihood of cameras and other recording devices. And I'm very curious about the piece of paper (letter?) she found in an album. Do I remember correctly that she gave or showed it to Caro afterward?

Juanita, you are such a trouper for putting up yet another recap. We really appreciate it, and you did an excellent short one.

I never go back and watch episodes. I delete them as soon as I watch them to save room on the disk of my satellite box. But something does intrigue me and maybe I'll try to see the episode on my computer. It looked to me like someone had manipulated Carlos' two videos. I thought I saw Sara's face as she was having sex with Carlos and then saw an image in there of Carlos strangling the other woman. Was the whole point of his killing her to produce something to manipulate Carmelo?

Am I nuts. Did anyone else notice that strangling moment? To me, that explained Carmelo's extreme reaction. No one wants to see their child having sex. But, it was consensual. And, if no strangulation footage was included, why would Carmelo be so sure his daughter would be harmed?

Yep, that Piña is one scary guy. He's sort of a Swiss Army Knife of bad guys. He's sent to murder Virginia, sets up a plot to frame Carmelo's supporters for the car bomb, and then is qualified as a prison warden.

Thanks, deb, for clarifying what was going on with Miranda in that room. I did not recognize the daughter of the new pres. And why is she moving in there? She's no longer First Lady, right?

These time skips drive me nuts.

novelera, I'm about to leave the house, but I just want to say that I saw what you did, first it seemed to be Sara, then Carlos strangling the woman who died (unless he pretended for a few seconds to be strangling Sara, knowing the video would be used to enrage and/or coerce Carmelo).

And yes, I too hate the time jumps!

Skimmed through the show during lunch time, stopping for what I thought was interesting. I don’t have much to add.

deb: Yikes! Thanks for setting me straight on the presidential candidates in both shows. My apologies. The last thing we need is a cross over between Preso and Paraiso!

novelera: Yes, in the video shown to Carmelo there’s also a brief shot of Carlos-Joe choking the other girl. Piña made sure he saw that part.

Now poor Carmelo has to endure mental and emotional torture in addition to his daily beatings.

Later, Carlos contacts Sara he says, you already know who I am but we still want to see each other. Sara is freaked out while Carlos is looking at a screen shot of the video. This story line is so awful.

Interesting how each of the baddies think they are the ones in charge and won’t take orders from anyone else. Waiting to see who turns on whom.

Yes, it looks like we will soon find out who’s Sara’s daddy. This poor girl.

I laughed at Adan and Eva cold calling then showing up asking Carmelo for a job. They want to work their way to the top!

Juanita: Miranda stopped Caro on the street and said we have to talk. Caro said get in the car. I don’t think she gave her anything yet. I couldn’t make out the pictures or the letter that Miranda found.

novelera: Others of a certain generation ask me the same question about my nick. I know the Dondi comic and backstory from long ago. I think the comic might have influenced it, but it’s really a mashup of my first and last names and it is a nick from childhood that some friends still use. 356 refers to an address. Juanita, Ramses could know about Sara but I don't think so, his plan is to break Carmelo one step at a time and will probably throw in the rape, what I'm wondering is if he knows Tuerto is Carmelo's brother.

I think Miranda/Caro just got together, more tonight maybe.

novelera, I went back and watched the Carlos/Sara scenes (and what did he tell Sara when he called her?) there is one quick scene where Hugo is holding up Carmelo's head so he will look which could be hands on the throat, not sure who the girl is, hair color and all.

btw, you could get a second tv for special occasions or I have a Hauppauge tv tuner I plug into a usb port on the computer to watch and can record with their software (no CC3) and later click along the timeline to find a scene to re-watch.

I think Ramsés does know that Tuerto/Evodio/Voyo is Carmelo's brother. Telling his brother to kill him is part of Ramsés plan to torture Carmelo. When his brother refuses, he may kill Tuerto to make Carmelo suffer.

I can't answer any of your questions but may be able to add to the last, Benito's daughter did explain/thank Miranda for being so accommodating to them when they stayed at the presidential palace, when she was first lady.

This is NOT going to end well.

Deb: I hate to say this, but I believe hope is lost for the Good Guys for the moment. It's going to be awhile before we see the villains getting their Karma.

Just a quick note of thanks to deb and dondi356 for your very helpful comments and additions. I was out almost all day and just got back.

dondi356, re your questions: I don't think we've had any explanation for why there's such animosity between Pedro Islas and his son. We saw it earlier, and again last night, but it hasn't been explained. At least, not yet. As for Ramses not knowing that Tuerto is Carmelo's brother, I agree that it seems strange, since I'm under the impression that Voyo/Tuerto's involvement with Ramses goes back to when he was quite young. However, if that's not the case, and Ramses only met him later, he might not recognize Tuerto as Carmelo's brother. Perhaps we'll find out tonight?

deb, I like your explanation of why Ramses thought about the rape of Caro. That seems more plausible than his thinking that Sara might be his biological daughter. It will be interesting to see what happens if/when he finds out.

Preso No. 1 - Viernes - Parte 1 de 2

We see a flashback to the 2018 campaign. Ramses offers Carmelo his support and money. Carmelo isn't pleased. Ramses forced him to come here, so he can't accept Ramses money or support. He asks Ramses to let him and his people go. Suddenly, Carmelo hears Virginia call out "Let go of me! Don't touch me." Carmelo goes outside to see what's up. He punches Marcial, the guy who had been bothering Virginia. Marcial's buddy, Fidel, pulls a gun on Carmelo. Ramses takes the gun away from Fidel and shoots him. Marcial draws his gun and one of Ramses' men shoots him. Ramses tells Carmelo that he and his people will stay overnight and then leave in the morning. Virginia and Carmelo are in a cabin. Virginia says she's scared. Carmelo says he won't let anything bad happen to her. And then the two of them get, um, very friendly.

In the morning, they leave. A man comes up to Carmelo as he's about to leave and tells him that he admires Carmelo. I'm pretty sure the man is Carlos!

Back in the present, we see Miranda and Carolina looking at photos of Sara and Carlos, and of Carmelo and Carlos, photos Miranda had found in the presidential palace. She also found what turns out to be a confession written by Virginia for Carmelo. Among other things, I think she said she was pregnant. They won't be able to find out who the father was, since Virginia was cremated soon after she was murdered.

Pia Bolaño tells Bautista that what she and Juanito had was just a fling in the past. Bautista asks her whether she's aware that Colonel Mayorga may have put cameras in her office. At that moment, Colonel Mayorga appears. Pia leaves. Mayorga tells Bautista that he's concerned that Miranda and Caro left together, even though they can't stand each other.

Caro speaks to Sara on the phone and tells her emphatically not to have anything more to do with Carlos. Moreover, she's sending her a photo she wants her to see. The photo of Carlos and Carmelo taken the year before. Suddenly, who should appear but Carlos. Sara wants nothing to do with him. He claims he dreams about her and he loves her. She threatens to scream if he comes near her. She calls him the Devil. He says the Devil is inside him, and he begs her to help him. She leaves.

At the prison, Piña accuses Ramses of not keeping his end of the bargain. Ramses tells him he'll kill Carmelo, but in his own way. Right now, Piña should be worrying about the uprising in cell block C by the people of Tepito. They're upset about the bomb that went off in their turf. It's suggested that they be told that Carmelo's people were responsible for the bomb.

Piña asks Ramses, "Didn't Vega tell you that Tuerto killed Tinajas?" He also claims that Tuerto is Carmelo's brother. Ramses asks whether Piña has any proof. Piña admits he has nothing concrete. Ramses says he'll look into it, in his own way.

A fat prisoner in cellblock C manages to grab Vega and beat him. The prisoners then manage to escape into the yard. Carmelo also manages to get free, thanks to Tuerto. Tuerto is worried about what Ramses will do now that he's been told that Tuerto killed Tinajas. Carmelo won't escape without making sure Toño (in the prison infirmary) is OK. [That seems like a highminded but pointless move.] Anyway, evenutally, Carmelo is in the prison yard with all the cellblock C prisoners. They accuse him of having exploded the bomb on their territory. He adamantly denies this.

From the warden's office, Ramses talks to the rioting prisoners over a loudspeaker system. He tells them the riot is no way to fix anything. They should clean up the mess, and then we'll talk.

In another flashback, we see the top three candidates for president (including Carmelo) about to debate. The moderators of the debate are Rita Franco and Pia Bolaños. Pedro Islas watches the debate with Guido Palao, who has had a stroke and is having difficulty speaking. we don't actually see the debate itself. [The point of this segment isn't clear.]

Killer (the leader of the rioting prisoners) orders people to take the handcuffs off Carmelo. Piña recognizes that things are getting further out of control. The guards are being beaten. He gives a sharpshooter named Halcón (Falcon, Hawk) an order to crush the uprising. He shoots Killer, then shoots another prisoner. He's about to shoot Carmelo when Tuerto appears, grabs his high-powered gun, knocks him out, and takes the gun.

Carmelo has a phone and calls Caro. She can barely hear him over the noise of the rioting and the helicopter that has been sent to quell the riot. Carmelo tells her that there's a riot, that people are being killed, and she should spread the word.

Ramses tells Piña that he should send the helicopter away. Piña says that Colonel Mayorga ordered the helicopter. Ramses says that Mayorga and his buddies will not be happy if I let people know that all of them have been collaborating with me in one way or another in drug trafficking.

Caro tries to see President Benito Rivas Macin. Colonel Mayorga is standing with several other uniformed people in front of the building where the president is. She tells him she's a journalist and wants to talk to the president. Mayorga tells her that the press conference ended hours ago. Moreover, how does he know that she's not a terrorist bent on killing the president. He refuses to let her enter. She turns away, and then suddenly rushes past Mayorga into the building. Mayorga indicates that the guards should not stop her.

Carmelo tries to stop the riot. He tells the prisoners "If we don't stop, they'll kill us all." We can contemplate this grim prospect over the weekend.

Paraiso Episode 4 Part 1

Las Babys get ready for the meeting with the Mexican big shot. And where is Mendieta? We know, but the Babys don’t. Black Hand sends Rocco.

Poor bloodied Sal is at the sink thinking back to the beating. Does he realize it was Calvo, who spoke to him earlier at Hilda’s?

Hilda is looking over pix of (happier times?) the Marin-Santana family. She is coming to the realization that she was the only one who was happy in the relationship. There was always a sadness in Albeiro’s eyes. She hopes one day he can forgive her. Liseth interrupts and says it’s better to let memories be. Later, Liseth pushes and pushes, and pushes the idea that Hilda should move on with Sal.

Albeiro is at the hospital with Jota. Nothing has changed. Albeiro confides in the comatose Jota. He’s going to find out if he’s infected. He says you know my heart. I want to spend the time I have left with the love of my life—Catalina Santana.

Las Babys are at dinner with the Mexican big shot. Dayana has done her homework and tries to impress with her knowledge about the boxing match. There’s some snippy exchanges between the Babys. Now let’s get down to business. We will present XY4 to the partners tomorrow. But we need try it out on a DEA agent and a tourist. Dayana will take the DEA agent and Mariana the tourist.

Back at the lab: Titi is on a rant! They ditched me here! They’ve got the merca! If it goes well for them in Vegas, I’ll be out! I have to do something fast! Lab lady is concentrating on her work. She says, what are you going to do? I’m going to Vegas and you are going to give me a new improved XY4! Something that will get your sexual motor running like Ecstasy. She needs more time but Titi says not much time. Lab lady warns him you’re playing with fire. Titi and lab lady have sex on the lab table but first he slaps her and then she slaps him back!

Catagrande & the DEA babes arrive in Vegas.

Paraiso Episode 4 part 2

Black Hand shows up in Vegas and reminds everyone he’s in charge and goes over the plans. Surprise! The Vegas DEA agent, Osman Mesa, is working with Black Hand! Catagrande calls Osman during the meeting. He is asked to put it on speaker. Surprise! CataG is in Vegas. No one trusts Agent Osman anymore.

Mariana, who is off with the tourist she picked up at the casino, freaks a bit when Diabla calls her--mom is here. Not to worry, they will monitor CataG and “Valeria” will meet with the DEA team.

Liseth and her bright ideas: Hilda, why don’t you contact Catamedia to model for the fashion show? Hilda calls and CataM will do it for her mom. I say don’t do it, don’t go back!

Valeria shows up at the DEA Babes’ hotel. CataG reminds them not to bring personal issues into the work. Nevermind, Cata's also there to find her daughter. And we’re looking at you Natalia and Valeria. They go to meet with Agent Osman.

Black Hand brings Dayana and Mariana to meet with the other partners. And then, cue the parade of women in lingerie.

DEA hotel meeting: Agent Osman almost faints when he sees Diabla/Valeria at their meeting! Osman claims to know nothing about the narco meet up. Diabla gives him a subtle warning saying we are glad to have your support. CataG sends her babes out to do recon/intelligence in the area. I laughed at the thought of the bimbos Vanessa & Paola doing “intelligence”!

CataG stays behind to talk to Osman. She has a feeling he’s hiding something. Meanwhile out on the strip, Natalia and Valeria get physical and the others have to pull them apart.

Next morning the baddies meet up in the desert and XY4 is presented to the partners. What is it? It’s nothing you have ever seen before. Who should try it? We have a volunteer—Agent Osman, we hardly knew you.

Black Hand informs the group that Mariana’s mother is DEA and here in Vegas but, not to worry, our Diabla is also DEA Agent Valeria Montes!

Juanita, you're the best! I hope to be able to put something up on a real computer later on today, but I wanted to thank you for keeping us on track with Preso.

That was a very exciting episode. I think tepitenos (rats, can't get this keyboard to put up an enye) are residents of a neighborhood in D.F. There was some other explanation on google and maybe I can put it up later.

I enjoyed Tuerto telling Halcon that he was Aguilita (eagle) and thus a superior bird!

That Pina is scum and I can't wait for him to "get his".

I wasn't able to watch the shows Friday and have just caught up with Preso, yep Tepito is a barrio in Mexico city, they are worried for their families.

so Virginia was pregnant, and Caro is on getting the official autopsy report even though she was cremated because, it didn't show that, which meant the report was false.

so this must have been Virginia's room, the pics show Carlos with Ramses, and Ramses with Pedro, Miranda said Virginia was trying to prove a connection with the CIA.

watermelon Joe takes me back to the first novela I ever watched, "Dame Chocolate", the evil psycho guy sensed all was not well with himself and was seeking redemption from the the pure love of the innocent/good girl, a new concept for me.

Bautista made it pretty clear he knew about present time Pia and Juanito, dumping her apple cart, but I did love her response earlier that it was better to be Pedro's fiance, than his wife.

loved Miranda's explanation to Sara that people never change, look at me, I tried, and her confession to Caro, I was jealous of you but wanted to be your friend, and Caro's response, I was jealous of you, but never wanted to be your friend.

so Hugo Piñata, or what was it Tuerto called him, wants to know why Carmelo isn't dead, because the boss hasn't ordered it yet, brings a smile to Ramses.

and everyone comes to the conclusion that Hugo is good at killing people, but behind a desk he is an idiot.

this show is a pretty incredible story, I hope as the time lines converge they don't get writers block.

the after shots at the Telemundo site showed the making of Amor Divino, and they threw in a clip of the young Carmelo/Caro kissing, what a wonderful couple they are, love them.

On the campaign trail: Did Virginia and Joe give each other a look as she was leaving Ramses’ place? When did their relationship start? Cut to next scene--Caro in the car with Miranda looking at the picture of Virginia and Joe. Who took all those pictures that Miranda found?

When Virginia was killed they took her incriminating documents. Now, pictures and a letter are found. I’m wondering if she hid anything else in other locations?

deb, I’m thinking and hoping that once the timelines converge and most of the backstory is revealed, the story will be much easier to follow and much more enjoyable.

deb, when Caro went to see Benito, I thought she was going to let him know about the rioting and violence at the prison (as Carmelo had reported to her over the phone). It didn't occur to me that she'd also want to call attention to the discrepancy between the official autopsy report on Virginia and the fact that it said nothing about her being pregnant and thus clearly wasn't an accurate report. I was also impressed with the way you tied the photos to Virginia's wanting to prove a connection with the CIA.
And yes, I too loved Miranda's confession to Caro and Caro's response.

dondi, I didn't notice whether Virginia and Joe gave each other a look as she was leaving. Good catch if they did. And excellent question about who took the photos that Miranda found! Was Claudio present at those times? Possibly. He seems to pop up all over the place. And yes, Virginia did hide other things, for example, the flash drive inside the doll. Perhaps that's not all. And I agree that the eye patch may make Voyo/Tuerto look different, but didn't he say that he got the patch (and hence lost an eye) in Ramses' service? Like you, I find it a bit strange that Ramses didn't immediately recognize him.

Hi, I been watching the novela and feel a little lost from the ending last season to now. I know some time has passed but it just seems weird.
1 What happened to Carlos Catalina's father and the laura storyline? I remember he was with Hilda and she was taking care of him?
2.Also wasn't Catamedia pregnant? When she left she was pregnant and they have not mentioned it. They did say something yesterday about Catamedia not waiting to talk about so I hope they didn't decide to ignore her pregnancy.
3.Did the Canibel die? I saw someone mention him on here before but I forgot if he died or not.

4.Also what happened to Santiagos ex. Didn't they change her name and imagine? I have seen her this season.

I was just wondering if I have to rewatch the finale from last season or if everyone else noticed all these changes
