La Usurpadora - Capitulo 10 - When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die.

Manuel calls Paola to tell her their plan worked to perfection and, as they speak, Paulina is being dragged to a psychiatric facility. Paola breaks into her usual crazy dance routine, while in the background they show Paulina being dragged into the room and drugged.

Back at his house Carlos laments to Gema that he feels bad this had to happen. She reassures him that he did the right thing. He thanks he for her efforts, and she responds that it’s her job and sends him to rest up, while she takes care of everything. (Ah, the enabling women and men like Carlos, who are really not worth the trouble. We hope Gema realizes this…)

In the morning, Carlos is having breakfast with the family. He informs them that Paola suffered a mental health crisis and they had no other option, but to commit her. Lisette takes issue with the supposed necessity of the action and the implied communal nature of it. Her mom was ok and attentive, she says. Carlos confirms that everyone thought she was on the mend, but alas... Grandma Piedad says that she always suspected something, as Paola acted like a different person. Nevertheless, Lisette is very upset and demands to see her mother. When she is denied that, she announces that she will stay home from school and texts Diego for comfort. They later meet up and she spills all her troubles to him. Diego, in response, says that it’s all too much, he thought about it, and they should break up. Lis is in tears and runs away. When Molina finds out, he does not like that development one bit. Diego is ordered to get back with Lis, otherwise there won’t be anyone to pay for his college (so that is what Molina has on him?).

At the house of the troublesome twosome and a crazy guest (aka Terry, Manuel and Paola), the three of them are hard at work planning yet another assassination attempt, while chewing on breakfast sausage. Paola remembers that psychiatric facility from first-hand experience, and the terrifying duo already confirmed her layout knowledge with some insider nurses they still have contact with from Paola’s numerous stays at the looney bin. One small detail – Terrifying Terry wants to be a partner, not a subordinate.

Gema has her cold-hearted advisor hat on and passes an opinion to El Presidente that it is not prudent for him to visit Paola, despite Lisette’s pleas, and he really needs to explain to Lisette that they are not your average family.

With this plan failed, Carlos resorts to an alternative. He invites Nava in and confides the whole unstable wife, multiple personality, previous mental problems and now an involuntary commitment sad tale to him. Nava is skeptical – Paola looked fine. Well - Carlos, who is not overburdened by the keen sense of observation or any extra gray matter really, thinks Nava is wrong and Paola is unwell. However he needs a favor. Since El Presidente can’t go visit her at the mental spa, Facundo should go in his stead.

The latter does just that and Paulina wakes up to Facundo staring at her. Groggy and confused, the first thing she spits out is that she is not Paola. She continues to make very little sense to Facundo, explaining – in between sobs – that Paola wants to kill her mother. A nurse comes in to usher Facundo out, so Paola can rest, and Paulina is hysterical asking him not to leave. Leave he does, but he is visibly perturbed by the experience. On his return to office, he dispatches Pedro to look for Monse, as he hopes she will help clarify some things.

Up in his room, Emilio – the disobedient son, by the nick of his own choosing – is minding his own business, when Juana comes in with a bottle of whiskey. She’s had enough and probably watched the “disobedient son” youtube video on replay all night (I know I would. It was quite entertaining). She pours him a glass and tells him that if he is planning to drink, he can do so in front of her. Juana’s plan is to shame Emilio into sobriety and it seems to be working, as he pushes the glass away.

Molina visits the guy, whose wife died in the accident along with Susana (same one Gema is paying off), and offers much more money from his “boss” for his cooperation. We later see who he meant, as he comes to sell this information to Fangul.

Arcadia steals more silverware and is seen by Piedad. Later at breakfast Juana arrives to inform the family that some silver is missing. Arcadia accuses Juana of the theft to cover her tracks, and Carlos declares that whoever stole it, it was Juana’s responsibility to keep track of it, so Juana will have to answer. (Have you noticed that on rare occasions that Carlos resolves to be decisive, he always makes the wrong decision? Yesterday with the doctor and involuntary commitment, today with the theft…)

Emilio is immediately on guard as he hears that, and goes to investigate with Piedad, who made a quip about Arcadia being the thief at the table. He wants to know the truth, because it is Juana who keeps him sober and he owes her. Piedad was apparently convinced by Emilio, as she goes to Carlos to tell him the truth about Arcadia. Carlos calls Juana in and apologizes to her. He then invites Arcadia in, tells her he knows everything and that she sets a bad example for his kids. He asks her to leave his house, especially now that Paola is not there any more.

Carlos has a heart-to-heart with Emilio, there is more tears and Carlos gives him the letter that Susana left for Emilio, when he turns 18. Emilio reads the emotional letter and cries. Later son and father make up.

Meanwhile, Paola exits to go about some of her important business (exactly what we are left to wonder, but we imagine it’s something like buy more murder music, or borrow another book at the library on the psychopaths killing orphans) Terryfying Terry must be playing out her own plan, as she is silently waiting for Paola to leave, and she scales the fence to get into Gonzalo’s house once Paola departs.

At some point they all meet up back at Manuel’s and finalize their plans of Terry gaining access to Paulina’s room in the evening and killing her. Finally she will be free, says Paola. So will they, responds terrifying Terry. Terry leaves and Paola asks Manuel to crate the dogs, turns up the music and does her crazy dance. Manuel joins her and they dance together for a bit. Paola is ecstatic about the new beginnings, she will leave and start a new life (apparently she has forgotten all about Gonzalo by now…) Manuel offers to come with her and then kisses her. A kiss from half-inept Manuel was not on Paola’s to-do list today. She is furious, slaps him and leaves. Manuel is devastated, and such he is found by Teresa, who tells him to perk up, as Paola will not start a new life. In fact, says Teresa, there is not much of that life left for her. Manuel realizes that Teresa put some crazy plan in motion to kill Paola. He slaps Teresa, and immediately realizes what he has done. He is barely able to get an unintelligible syllable out before she knocks him out.

Nava visits with Monse and tries to pump her for information. Is Paola really crazy? Why did she pass on the info on Susana? Monse doesn’t give up much, but says that la senora is very well and stable. She couldn’t have passed that information, because she was with Monse all of that day. Then she innocently asks if, with all those cameras, they weren’t able to see any of it? Why, that didn’t even occur to our fearless former policeman hero, so he rushes back to give Pedro a new assignment. Pedrito completes it with flying colors, and they find a video of Paulina and Monse in the house, stamped with the same time that Paola was filmed outside the church. The genius conclusion: two people cannot be in the same place at the same time. Mindblowing. Armed with this info, Nava visits with Paola’s doctor and finds out more about this alternative personality of hers: sensible, humble, born in Colombia. Crucially, he learns the name: Paulina Doria. But the doctor wants to transfer Paola to the US, to one of the clinics, where they specialize in such issues.

Back in the office, Nava and Pedro find the only youtube video Paulina ever made and watch it together. They are now convinced she was telling the truth. Where is Paola, wisely asks Nava. He rushes to the president to convince him not to send away Paulina, but Carlos, who already used up the one intelligent thought allotted to him for the day, tells him the decision has been made, and the plane leaves tonight. He leaves Nava no option, but to put a crazy plan in motion, complete with Irene’s hacker and hospital infiltration. The hacker breaks into the hospital network and turns off the power, allowing Nava to gain access to Paulina’s room. Sounds simple, right?

Well, it turns out it is. Nava gets the hacker to do her job, easily gains access to this secure facility (with, apparently, no back up security plan), avoids the guards and nurses, and gains access to Paulina’s room, where the latter is prepared to defend herself with a heavy statue. Nava tells her he knows she is Paulina Doria and has come to rescue her. While this is happening, Terrifying Terry is also on the move and similarly entered the clinic. She is inching closer to Paulina’s room.

Meanwhile Manuel wakes up and, after a number of unsuccessful attempts to get in touch with Paola, drives over to Gonzalo’s. Here he scales the wall and sees Paola exiting the house, ready for her new life. He screams her name, but she pays no attention. As she approaches her convertible, she presses the engine start button on her remote and the car spectacularly explodes, sending both of them up in the air and back down. They are both unconscious as we fade to credits.

Ria thanks so much for your fantastic recap! Wow, what an episode.

You made a lot of great comments and this one stood out to me: (Have you noticed that on rare occasions that Carlos resolves to be decisive, he always makes the wrong decision? Yesterday with the doctor and involuntary commitment, today with the theft…). Yes I have noticed. I'm hoping he can buy a clue or get a brain soon.

With that said, at least he got better information regarding the theft. Due to his lack of brain cells, the bar now is so low; Hence, I was very pleased he had a real talk with Emilio and got rid of his suegra.

And points to Emilio for getting his abuela to hep him clear Juana. I'm hoping he will sober up and honor his mother's memory.

Gema had a fail with the "you can't listen to your daughter and visit your wife" nonsense. I'm sure you noticed how she tried to go in for the kiss but Clueless wasn't up for it; go figure.

I can't believe Manuel was dumb enough to kiss Paola. He's been horrible to Paulina so I can't feel badly for his humiliation with Miss Crazy. And what was he thinking when he slapped Terrifying. Clearly he was operating on few or no brain cells either.

I liked how Monse really didn't give anything away about Paulina, (though it did frustrate me a bit as well) but did get Nava and Pedro thinking about videos and other possibilities.

It was great that our dynamic duo realized together that the twins exist and Paulina is telling the truth.

Molina is a horror and I don't think he realizes who he's playing with. What a horrible tio to get his sobrino involved in this. I think he's threatening to kill Diego's parents. And poor Diego actually like Lis.

I don't know why I thought Terrifying would only kill Paola. It will be interesting to see how things at the hospital pan out on Monday. And Paulina now has three people who believe her and will try to help her.

I guess its too early for Manuel and Paola to be dead but that would be fun and I can hope.

Ria, thanks. This was just great. My favorite: “Carlos who is not overburdened by the keen sense of observation or any extra gray matter really.” You do have a way with words!

For whoever who was wondering what Paola was reading in yesterday’s episode, she seems to enjoy reading about true crime as well as committing crimes. She was reading “Cosecha de sangre” (Blood Harvest) by Yvette Trochón. It is a compilation of the most notable crimes in 20th century Uruguay. No wonder she was enthralled.

I have decided that the problem with “Carlos” is that the character has not been very well written. He seems like a cardboard cut out who only reacts.

New mystery? Why does Carlos feel like he has to pay off the husband of the woman who died in the accident/suicide with his first wife? Was it a wrongful death or were the women playing Thelma and Louise? Who knew it was a suicide besides Carlos and now Emilio? I feel like I missed something.

Best part of the episode was Teresa telling that love sick old dog Manuel that Paola had a date with the grim reaper, so to speak. (I am getting into the Halloween spirit) and him freaking out and Teresa knocking him out. That explosion really knocked him on his butt. Maybe it will knock some sense into him but I doubt it.

Glad Carlos sent Arcadia off squealing and literally packing.

Where will Nava take Paolina and how will they confront the Paola situation? I guess that is the rest of the novela . . . LOL

Love this show and boy are the recaps outstanding! Thanks Ria. Just a delight to read. Lots of great quips and I thought the title was super (even though I have never watched that particular series).

Among your gems:

Well - Carlos, who is not overburdened by the keen sense of observation or any extra gray matter really, thinks Nava is wrong and Paola is unwell.

and

on the rare occasions where Carlos makes a decision, it's the wrong one

also

A kiss from the half-inept Manuel was not on Paola's to-do list today

not to mention...

Carlos, used up the one intelligent thought allotted to him for the day

Yes, Carlos does seem to be a poorly written cardboard doofus character as Jarifa noted. But otherwise, I'm enjoying the second-tier players. I actually like the sarcastic relationship between Arcadia and Carlos' mom. And the tender wisdom lurking under Juana's upright, faithful servant exterior. Monse is a treasure. And Terry, is consistent and capable. And looked quite attractive last night. We have to have villains in these stories and she is a crackerjack bad guy. I enjoy her capacity for effective wickedness. Plus she doesn't give an inch to the execrable Paola.

And Gema. Oh my. The character is so well-cast. The actress has a strong jaw that is almost masculine. And is very adept at portraying mixed emotions just with her eyes. Doing a wonderful job in her role.

All told, with a few slips (such as the cut-out dress on Paulina early on) I think this is a first-rate production and I'm enjoying it thoroughly. And look forward to the excellent recaps just as much as I look forward to the show.

What an incredible episode! What an even more incredible recap!

Ria, the events fueled your fire and your inspiration. Honestly? I could have cut and pasted everything you wrote.

"the three of them are hard at work planning yet another assassination attempt, while chewing on breakfast sausage". Yup, just ordinary folk, calmly eating and firming up their planned activities for the day. Assassination, murder and mayhem. Naturally, one being a very smart and savvy villain, one of the vital plot plans remained shrouded in secret.

Terry is clearly the brains (and brawn) behind the gruesome threesome. Thoughtful, decisive and completely capable, she needs no one else as she herself is the judge, jury and executioner. A lean, mean, killing machine.

Manuel is just pathetic, particularly when oh so awkwardly attempting to kiss Paola. She shut him down coldly and I for one was happy. A bit surprised that he had the audacity to hit Terry yet she took him down with no effort in a split seond. Yet, like an abused puppy who still yearns for affection, he runs after Paola, hoping to save her.

Monse was the hero last night (with Pedro not far behind), unobtrusively giving Nava the information that he really should have thought of himself.

Karen, I agree Diego likes Lis and that Molina is reprehensible! The poor girl has more to contend with than any child should. Ack.

"the enabling women and men like Carlos, who are really not worth the trouble" spoke volumes as did "Carlos, who is not overburdened by the keen sense of observation or any extra gray matter really". Very insightful. Jarifa, your likening Carlos to a "cardboard cut out who only reacts" was totally on point.

Judy, I also like "the tender wisdom lurking under Juana's upright, faithful servant exterior". So glad she helped Emilio although I was surprised he refused the drink. Perhaps there is hope.

I think the final question is: can crazy trump smart? Paola will not take the attempt on her life lightly. The one mistake Terry made was telling Manuel she was going to kill Paola. Will Paola enlist the help of her slave to wreck revenge? And again, I fear those innocent dogs are definitely in danger now.

Ria, this was sensational. Thank you!

Diana

Karen - yes!!! I too noticed how Gema was going in for a kiss, while advising him to be a cruel father to his daughter. Timing must not be her strong suit. Indeed, I am skeptical also that either Paola or Manuel will have anything more than a concussion, but we can hope till Monday... :)

Jarifa - thanks and also "cardboard cut out who only reacts" is simply wonderful and so spot on. That is exactly who he is and you are right, the character is very poorly written, especially for having such an important post. I am not sure why they are paying off that dude either, and the dude is milking it for all it's worth... Lots of "ethical" characters around.

JudyB - so agree, this is a great fast moving show! They pack a lot into an episode, which keeps you engaged. Terry is indeed a wonderful villain. The actress is so great at all the emotion (or lack of) that she displays. Ditto for Gema - as you mention, great choice to pick her for the role. Between that and our great patio, this has been a wonderful ride so far!

Diana - "a lean, mean killing machine" is so true about our villainous Terry. I was also surprised Manuel had the courage to slap her, he should have expected what came next. And very good question on Paola - I was wondering about that too, how will she react?? I guess we are just about half-way in (next week), so lots to come still and much time for Paola to concoct a new plan.

Great recap Ria as always. Could someone clarify what's going on with Molina? Who is he working for and what are they trying to accomplish? What if anything do they have to do with Susana's death? Is Gema involved with them? Sorry I must have missed this in past recaps. Thanks!

It seems to me that Molina is working for Fanjul (sp?). He's a mole in the president's security detail. As such, he runs the cameras and has free rein around the house. But his cameras only show so much so he's using Diego to get incriminating info from Liz that he can take back to Fanjul.
Carlos does not know about the passenger in his wife's car. Nava and Gema decided on their own to "protect him" so they were paying off the lady's husband to keep quiet. He was not aware it was a suicide, so when that came out Gema went back to him to make doubly sure he stays quiet. Unfortunately, she was followed by Molina who offered the guy triple the money to tell the truth and took THAT info to Fanjul. Now that it's all over the news about the possibly illegal properties of Fanjul, I have no doubt he will use the information to fight back...and clueless Carlos has no idea he has this humongous target on his back.

Superb recap, Ria! Thank goodness Nava goes to visit Paulina instead of Carlos--he's much brighter and can actually pick up on some clues--but why did he need Monse to think of the presidential mansion security cameras that would prove that the fake and now committed (literally) Paola was not at the church? Ah, the computer age! Now that Nava has Paulina's full name and country, he is able to find out her complete and accurate identity within minutes. I'm not surprised that her passionate video in support of her orphanage would turn out to be important down the road.

Wow, Ria, this episode was jam-packed with action and you caught it all superbly. This show is going so fast, it is hard to keep up with all the drama, so the recaps are really a great help, thank you!

All the good quips have already been identified by others, but "Carlos, who is not overburdened by the keen sense of observation or any extra gray matter really, thinks Nava is wrong..." is worth mentioning one more time. And "Paola is ecstatic about the new beginnings, she will leave and start a new life (apparently she has forgotten all about Gonzalo by now…)" My thoughts exactly! I know the woman is insane, but I still don't understand her obsession with killing Paulina. Surely there are other people she can blame all her problems on.

FINALLY, Nava thought to talk to Monse. so why did the writers bother to have Paola cut her hand. I thought for sure he would notice that Paulina had no scar before figuring out that Paulina is not Paola, but I'm glad that he figured it out anyway. Maybe, the scar will be used later to distinguish the sisters.

Karen, " I'm sure you noticed how she tried to go in for the kiss but Clueless wasn't up for it; go figure." YES! I did notice! I'm glad Carlos turned away; had he follwed through, he would have lost even more points.

Jarifa, "the problem with “Carlos” is that the character has not been very well written. He seems like a cardboard cut out who only reacts." Good perception...and, sadly, his reactions are always off.

JudyB, " I actually like the sarcastic relationship between Arcadia and Carlos' mom. Plus she doesn't give an inch to the execrable Paola." I almost copied and pasted your entire comment, but this was the best. ITA agree with you and let's not forget the Nava-Padro relationship. I truly enjoy watching those two interact. And like Diana, I also enjoyed, "And the tender wisdom lurking under Juana's upright, faithful servant exterior." Her reaction to Carlos expressing his gratitude for her concern and care for Emilio again raises the question, "Does/did she have a child of her own?"

Anon 12:22, I agree that Molina is working with Fanjul, but what I don't understand is why he thinks Lis would have any information that would be worthwhile for Fanjul. And he is the head of security; so why hasn't he found a way to set up a camera/mic in the President's office? Shall I put on my beanie?

Yahooo!!! another phenomenal recap Ria.

I love the way this is going. Did
Manny really think this psycho lady
Would want him? Seriously grampa you
Are out of your league. And after he
Drew back, the look on her face was..
"What the hell was that?" All she could Taste was the denture cream he uses To hold his dentures in.
"SLAP".That slap wasn't to loud, but She made her point, don't allow the help to French kiss you with a mouth
Full of denture cream. Yuck!

Yes! "Nava tells her he knows she is
Paulina Doris and has come to rescue her". He's my nite in shining armor.
But he's been wearing that same out fit for days. Don't this man do the laundry? Don't matter right now he's
About to rescue the Good twin, who he will probly end up with becuz her
Suppose husband El presidente is a
Jackass. President jackass. Perfect.
Gema can have him. He blamed Juana
Who reported the theft of the silver
Instead of his gambling crazed mom In Law. Stupid El presidente.

So he kick the gambling granny out cuz she's a bad influence on the grandkids. Really? El presidente? U
Were cheating with your chief of staff on their mom and stepmom right
Right down the hall. Who's a bad influence on The kids? You Jackass!

Who is that guy that uncle what's his name is working for?Someone says
They may want to kidnap lissete?
Well Tia Paulina will probly have to
Straighten that mess out once she's
Rescued by the night of honor.

This was a good episode but Ria you
Brung it baby.
^^^^ is that a word? With all my years of education I should know that. But there are so many words now, words that we never would have even thought about using back in the 60s.

O well, happy first weekend of fall.
And it don't feel like it. It's hot.

Ay yi yi, Nina, you WOULD bring up denture cream! I agree that was a pathetic and ill-timed kiss. I guess love makes anybody crazy. I'm rewatching el Hotel de los Secretos right now, and the actor plays an adorable head chef in that one. I far prefer him in that role. And he's sweet on the formidable head housekeeper, Daniela Romo. Quite a fascinating telenovela. Just like this one!

I also caught that kiss attempt that
Fizzled. I'm glad it did. Carlos has
Enough bad mojo flyin around him. Some
Of his own making. The writers surely did screw up this character. He sould
Have been made to be more aware of his
Surroundings, one being his wife. Well
That ship has sailed, besides he was preoccupied with gema. Boy are they about to get the shock of a lifetime.

I liked that explosion scene. The stunt people were great. Monday should
Be interesting.

In addition to what Judy noted, "I love the way this is going. Did Manny really think this psycho lady Would want him? Seriously grampa you Are out of your league".

Nina, your comments are priceless.

OT

I have been engrossed in YouTube recently and have found two outstanding Mexican cooking channels. They are both very down to earth but very different.

If you are interested, they can be found on You Tube under the following titles.

De Mi Rancho A Tu Cocina (Ángela and her surroundings remind me of my grandmother when I was a small child.)

Jauja Cocina Mexicana (Janet is from Mexico, now lives in Texas and has get together with her fans. That made me think of
Blanca in MMTF)

Hello, all.

Ria, wow...another sassy, wonderful recap of a fast moving episode packed with the good, the bad , and the ugly...and we all can assign folks to those caregories.

I loved all the comments, too.

Nava seems to be the rescuing hero along with sweet , faithful Monse , and Pedro. We all know who is on the other team .

Watching what is unfolding among Manuel , Terryfying , and Paola is very chilling. What a love sick puppy Manuel is..and everybody's favorite punching bag.

Okay...a nice, sunny day here . Have a good day, all. I am !looking forward to seeing what happens on Monday.

Ria--An explosive recap! Thank you. Oddly, even though my DVR is set to stop at 1 hr. 2 min., I didn't get to see the explosion. I didn't even realize Paola was heading for her own car. That's why we have you to explain it all to us. You are a gifted story-teller and picture-painter.

ITA that all the comments are spot on and add to the enjoyment of watching this "together."

In my heart, I'm still pulling for Carlos to wake up. He's Sleepwalking Through his own History. At least he and Emilio have patched up their relationship. I guess that's a first step.

What will Nava do with Paulina--if he is able to get her out of the psychiatric clinic? Will he need to hide her, take her back to Carlos, take her back to Colombia? He will surely hear about the explosion and its after-effects. How much of Paola will there be left? Manuel probably didn't get the brunt of the fireball.

Can't wait for Monday. Ria--you deserve a couple of gold medals right now--you and the Princess, too.

Hi all,

Busy weekend here, just now coming back to read this great discussion!

Susanlynn - love sick puppy is such a good description for Manuel. It's interesting how he is combining the two facets of his personality: he is a very tentative, blubbering assistant boy in front of Paola, and a terrified one in addition to the above in front of Terry, but in front of people he is not afraid of and is looking to harm: Paulina, first family, he is this confident, almost arrogant, person. The actor is doing a great job here!

Jarifa - thank you so much for the info on these videos! I watched a couple and they are great. I, too, love cooking channels but never thought to look up Mexican ones on youtube - this is wonderful, thanks again!!

Nina - "Carlos has enough bad mojo flying around him" - oh, so true!!!!

JudyB - oh, I never watched El Hotel, but it has been on my watch list for a couple of years. Now with such a recommendation from you, hoping I will get to it soon!

Hugo - looks like Anon 12:22 answered you question (thanks Anon!). Will see how this develops. Hard to believe Molina has been working there for years getting the info to the other side and no one noticed. But then again, it is Carlos and he didn't even notice his wife was exchanged for another woman. And Rgv Chick - yes, we do need to put the beanie on I think here too with Molina trying to use a child for his purposes...

SpanProf - agreed, Nava should have been quicker figuring this out on his own. Interested to see what happens now though!

Rgv Chick - Paola's obsession with Paulina is a mystery to me too. Perhaps she feels he has been "given up" by their birth mother and that is painful, I am sure, but she had a good life! She is a first lady, rich, famous. Paulina is not nearly as well off in Colombia. But I suppose once again it shows that all the prosperity and power does not replace love.

Anita - thanks and quite an explosive (literally in this case) episode too!! So from the aftermath of the explosion that they did show, it didn't appear that either Manuel or Paola were hurt in a significant way. Not sure if, as is sometimes customary, they choose to play out any PTSD or amnesia (I hope not the latter, as that was played out by now so many times). Who knows - maybe there is some internal damage, not visible to the naked eye, but the car exploded quite a distance from them, but powerfully enough to send them flying into the air from the detonation wave. Very interesting to see what happens with Nava and Paulina now too!

I have to wonder about that situation with the twins. Has there been any indication by the birth mother that she even had twins? What if one was stolen and she was told she only had one? a baby girl. Something pushed Paola into this psycho black hole shes
In. Remember who her adopted mom is,
The gambler. Maybe paola found out she was Adopted. Or sold. There's just all kinds of stuff to consider. This all
Depends on who knew what when these 2
Were born. Or It could be just my own
Wishful imagination. But something did
Happen to get Paola in the shape she's
In. Besides Acadia being a gambler and
Grooming her to snag a man like carlos
So there would be an endless supply of money to gamble with. Of course That well has dried up cuz son inlaw has expelled her from people's house. But
She does Have that flatware she stole.
Stupid arcadia. And where's dad?

Many Questions and not enough time to get answers. But we might cuz its on the move pretty fast. Heres a ? How will nava hide Paulina? We'll find out on Monday.

Thanks, Ria. Sensational recap. I haven't watched it yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing the Scooby Gang that's forming to save Paola. Loved each and every quip you made at Carlos's expense.

Reading all the comments, I find myself nodding along with every one. Goodness, Manuel lost all his senses and tried to kiss Paola? And he slapped Terry and stuck around long enough to see her reaction? This I got to see.

Excellent, Ria.

Carlos does the first sensible thing and throws Arcadia out. Has it never occurred to him that she is the reason Paola is as she is? I guess not. I don't recall her saying anything about her husband but he was probably no prize.

Good question about whether the birth mother knew she was having twins. Would the healthcare system in Colombia have had the tools to tell her that? Sandra Echevarria is not quite 35 years old but I'm guessing her characters are meant to be a little older than that.

As for Molina's motive to place Diego in the company of the First Family, I don't think he's been on the level with him. He is likely wanting to case the mansion for something he hasn't yet disclosed and expects to see on the videos.

The aftermath of the explosion will be interesting, but I doubt that Paola will have the opportunity to use it to fake her death although I could see her doing that in a way to frame Paulina. That's if she had the time to plan it.

UA: What are the odds Univision brings this back for a 2nd Season ? Because it looks like the Villains are going to be winning for awhile.

Steve: I would not mind seeing the superb Sandra Echeverria in this role again.
