I'll put up a probably brief recap later this evening.

PRESO NO. 1 – JUEVES – Parte 1 de 2

Well, not Eva but Adán fires into the air. The guys beating up Carmelo and Voyo recognize him and apologize. They say he kept his word to their neighborhood.

So the last time we saw Diana she was reaming out her granddad Belisario. And she fell asleep there? Wakes up snarky as ever. He wants to know where Clara’s funeral will be, but she won’t say.

Someone trashed Caro’s campaign office. Some neighbor tells Paco that the young people were hard at work and doing well. [So sometimes I think these people speak in code or I’m getting dumber.] The neighbor says that the campaign workers started fighting among themselves. Or outsiders came to cause trouble? I don’t know.

Caro tells Emanuel everything is Carmelo’s fault. [Hey, Caro, I’ll take him off your hands!]

Near Mexico City the guys who were attacking Carmelo are helping carry Clara’s coffin. They run into one Emir, who is some honcho in that neighborhood. He says his people will protect them.

Some people chant outside the police station where Paco is, I think, reporting the trashing of the office. They say they don’t get anything for their votes or some such.

Chinta finds the paper to be used to get Sara’s DNA results.

Eva takes Diana to see Clara’s body.

Ricardo Montero meets with Belisario who has decided to put the weight of the paper and his own prestige behind Carolina Arteaga. Ricardo asks if this was for Clara. [What? How did Ricardo know about Clara and Belisario?]

Bautista tells the typical mass of reporters he doesn’t know anything about the trashing of the campaign office. One of the reporters seems to hint it was because gays worked there. When asked about Pia Bolaños death, Bautista says they found a print of Carolina Arteaga on the neck of the deceased. For some reason Adonis has scruples about this – the first we’ve seen.

Voyo and Eva are worried that Carmelo has taken off. Adán reassures them that Plácido knows where he is. He’s gone to see Carolina. They get it on.

In the hospital Sara tells Isa that they’ll always be together. Cue the flash forward two years. Isa is crying out in her sleep. She seems like she’s gone soft in the head. She’s asking about Jaime; but two nights ago she was bitterly saying he’d not stayed with her. She says something about their parents having abandoned them. But Sara says they didn’t abandon them. They (Carm and Caro) love them. [?]

PRESO NO. 1 – JUEVES – Parte 2 de 2

Sara works in some place where they refurbish computers and tablets. There was an allusion in the prior scene that they don’t dare use the internet. Sara takes one of those tablets and uses the warehouse’s wi-fi to discover that Jaime is dead.

Rivas Macin is upset about all the leaks and is chewing someone out over the phone. His sneaky daughter Josefina hears him say that there is una sospechosa and as soon as RM leaves the room, Josefina tells Miranda. [So is there a secret passage in Los Pinos where Miranda can get in?]

Carmelo tries to offer his sympathy to Diana who is horrible to him. [I’m sorry. I don’t like Diana. And she doesn’t seem to be able to figure out that her mother chose to go after Carmelo. All he did was boink her that once on the island after telling her there could not be anything between them.]

Crazy Joe tries asking Dosal for diplomatic immunity. Dosal says he’s a paid assassin and in custody. I loved when he told him he’d have to wait and see if anyone from the US would dar la cara for CJ (stand up for him). And he goes on to more or less say that he needs someone to give him a face because his is toast.

Plácido comes to Chinta’s house. He convinces her of who he is and Chinta figures out a way for her brothers to jump a fence and sneak into the house.

We get a very sad deathbed scene for Doña Hortensia. But she did get to meet her grandson and had her children there when she died.

sin-senos4 #28

everybody is regrouping,

Moron shows, Cardonito's godfather, (brother ?? to the Cardona Titi was in prison with) Titi introduces his Cali girl, Pilar, and show the pills, the Hand got a fake batch.

the Hand's group all agree, Titi betrayed them, Mari wants her girl for starters, the Hand wants to waste Dayana, or maybe not, but wait their pills are all wrong, Moncho will bring in a new chemist from Mexico, they'll start up a new lab.

Diabla finds out Calvo is home alone, their both gone.

Calvo calls his phone in the taxi Al answers, and talks down, game over he says, until Calvo mentions he's going for Hilda and he knows where Patricia's family is.

Shadow forgives his guys, they drink, Harley dies, poison in the beer, Arturo next, or maybe later, Vane is coming tomorrow, he wants Art to grab her daughter and find someone close to Santi to grab.

raggedy Santi whines to raggedy jota, now his therapist, about reclaiming his wife, back on track they search for Zoraya, and find her.

business is business, Titi proposes 70/30 split, Moron lays out what he is bringing to the table, an army, connections, etc, ok 50/50, done now Moron talks old days when CataG was hot, Titi says she will always be in his heart, wilting his Cali girl, oh and did you kill Marcial, Moron asks, Titi slides on that one, moving on, Pilar needs a lab, Titi wants his daughter.

Kike (english spelling) and Manatos drive away with titica as Moron's guys arrive at Titi's place, all dead but the wounded nanny, they give her mercy bullet to the head.

Hilda watches over a sleeping Liset, tells Sal, these things happen in my world, you need to leave, he doesn't.

Alf is ready to blow the hospital, speeches come pouring out but his three faithful assistants seem to be in his way, oh and what was that about a guy creeping around your place Lucrecia, yep Alf will ramp up security, call the police, or better yet Valeria, Lucrecia and Nelly gulp.

the doc patches up Titi and Pilar, Moron wants to know about the side affects of the new and improved XY4, what better way to find out but by a doctor, down the hatch.

Conde is squirrelly as ever, and the more he knows about Hand, the worse he gets.

Diabla rips Calvo for being so trusting of Patricia, looks like he gets to sweat another day.

Mari can't handle her daughter who is crying, Moncho calms her, and they find a nanny, Hand needs to go to Bogota, the gangs job is to get Titi, he calls.

Thank you, novelera. The editing is making my head spin and I’m glad you can make some sense of it for me.

I think I’m coming down with a case of “Carmelophobia”. Carmelo pops up here, there and everywhere in this episode.

What’s the deal with Belisario? Are they trying to make him a good guy?

So they gave Pia’s remains a thorough once over. Why not, everyone else has had a go at her. Probably hiding any evidence pointing back to the baddies but they hit the jackpot when they found Caro’s prints.

Mama Tried: (any Deadheads or Merle Haggard fans out there?) I must admit as much as I find los Alvarado irritating, it was a touching send off for Hortensia.

The flash forwards I can do without. I can’t imagine what the gran final will look like. I really hope we’re not getting another season.

dondi356

"PRESO":

Dondi356: It depends if Telemundo likes it so much in terms of the ratings, whether they'll bring it back in 2020.

Novelera: Looks like the Conspirators will have Carolina arrested for murder.

preso

Dondi, loved your comment about everyone else having a go at Pia. I know she was not a sterling human being, but the many times she was shown "servicing" someone felt like "slut shaming".

Yep, I've heard Mama Tried.

And I also hate the flash forwards. I'm pretty sure Sara told Isa "they love us" present tense. But they could both be dead, the baddies won, and the girls have to hide from said baddies. Or they're hiding because Caro had to flee from the murder accusation and Carmelo still hasn't been cleared. They kind of squashed the "happily ever after" already when they said he'd taken up arms against the Mexican Army and couldn't get away with that.

But part of the Mexican Army was being led by a ghastly guy who definitely planned to pretend to bring Carmelo to justice, but instead murder him.

Sigh. Again, it was massively weird that Rivas Macin walks out of his office and Miranda sneaks around some corner.

Preso

thanks so much novelera, a wonderful recap, always a pleasure to read.

great comments as ususal dondi!

I rewatched Mayorga, yep, missing the right arm below the elbow.

hmm, Carmelophobia, where everyone ends up hating Carmelo, and Caro says she will too.

I was wondering if Pablo Escobar had the same respect as this president, for all the money and help he put into the poor neighborhoods.

Miranda was showing big time in this epi, I remember earlier where Josafina welcomed her into Los Pinos and gave her a room, perhaps this is where she is now living, don't think anyone else wants her.

hmm, we seem to be so far from the beginning, the events, the evidences, who is right or wrong, justice, and down to just killing each other.

El Final del Paraíso

Thank you, deb for recapping.

Money, Money for the American Dream!---Aurelio “El Titi” Jaramillo, just a businessman and narcotraficante.

I can’t remember when I’ve seen Dayana so rattled. I am very curious to see how she handles her secret agent duties. Is she with Black Hand or Titi? Or will she try to screw them both? (Heh, she already screwed Titi, literally and figuratively.)

Morón wants more info on who they are dealing with, specifically asks about Dayana (he’s met her), but we cut to commercial and didn’t hear what Titi said.

How will Black Hand make XY4 without the formula or even a real dose? Do they still have the old formula laying around somewhere? Uh, oh.

No, not the children! It’s unfortunate that the little ones will be used as pawns in dangerous games. Creepy Moncho with Titica.

I’ve got little patience for Santi and Jota. I didn’t need the flashback to cute little Mari wanting to follow in her father’s footsteps. Zoraya has some explaining to do!

Nice to see Calvo sweat.

Finally, something CataG doesn’t share with Valeria—surveillance footage. It’s a start.

Wasn’t Conde setting up a meeting with someone because he’s worried about his situation?

Many thanks, novelera, for a heroic attempt to make sense of what's left of this novela. And thanks, too, to dondi and deb for helpful comments.

Just 6 more episodes to go. Why is Caro blaming Carmelo for everything and claiming she may wind up hating him--and then happily boinking him when he appears? I'm also less than thrilled at Carmelo's saying that he's going to be killed. I keep trying to find characters whom I like. Diana sure isn't one of them. Nor Miranda. Nor, any longer, is Rivas Macin.

Thanks very much, novelera, for calling attention to the inconsistencies in the flash-forwards. It seems the only stable element in the novela are its inconsistencies.

Hmmm...I really sound like a grouch. I wonder whether I'm dumping on the novela to keep from obsessing about Real Life. OK, ¡Basta ya!

I'll try to do a fairly minimal recap of tonight's episode.

preso
Preso No. 1 - Capítulo 39 - Viernes - Parte 1 de 2

The episode opens on Hortensia's death scene, with Carmelo, Voyo, Plácido, Chinta, and Gina gathered around her bed. They've said goodbye to her. Meanwhile, Caro is sitting in Sara's hospital room when suddenly she sees a ghostly Hortensia come in, kiss Sara and perhaps Isa as well, and leave. Gina calls Caro to tell her that Hortensia is dead. Caro tells her that Hortensia was here saying goodbye to the girls.

Carmelo, Voyo, and Plácido leave Hortensia's house. They have to leave before they're located and caught. They try to blend into the crowd. Voyo and Plácido run into two policemen. At first I thought they'd be arrested, but it turns out that the police have orders to go after Carmelo, so they're left alone. Carmelo leads the police on a wild chase through the neighborhood and a market. He winds up being helped by a man who tells him he's a policeman but he doesn't like what has happened to his country, so he'll help Carmelo.

We suddenly have a "2 weeks later" segment between Sara and Isa. Isa has still not told her mother that she's pregnant. They talk about the article Diana has written, which they feel will help Caro's presidential campaign.

Back in the present, the scene shifts to a group of Caro's supporters chanting her name. Gina and Chinta are among the supporters, and Chinta calls Carmelo to let him hear the crowd yelling Carolina! Carolina! He's very pleased. However, he then tells Adán that they should leave so as not to endanger the people he's with. Carmelo suggests that they go to the mountains. [I find myself wondering where the money comes from to support Carmelo, Adán, Eva, Plácido, and others.]

Carolina gives another rousing speech. Paco, in the crowd, gets a message on his phone and leaves, looking upset. Ricardo, at the newspaper office, getrs an anonymous call that says something like "What's about to happen will change things forever." Adán, too, is unhappy about what's about to happen. What may be upsetting them is that the riot police are marchng toward Carolina's rally. Paco tells her that they're here to arrest her for the murder of Pia Bolaños. Carmelo makes a call to Rivas Macin from a location that cannot be traced. He wants Rivas Macin to help Caro. Carmelo doesn't care what happens to him, he's just concerned about Caro. RM urges him to go and hide, saying "your blood is too precious to be shed, your death would burn the country." RM also pledges that he won't let anything bad happen to Caro.

There's a standoff between the students (Caro's supporters) and the police, with the students chanting "go away." Paco is back in the crowd, and to his surprise, he is arrested "for helping Carmelo Alvarado escape." He protests that what they're doing is illegal, but they take him away.

Rivas Macin, Chavarria (the attorney general), and Federico Iturbe are in RM's office. RM is furious at Chavarria. "Who are you working for? Who paid you off?" he asks. He demands to know what happened on the day Pia Bolaños died. Chavarria says there are many versions of what happened. RM wants to know all of them. We then see a seeming flashback where Caro goes to see Pia, furious at the way Pia has treated Sara. "Who gave you that video [presumably the one of Sara and Crazy Joe having sex]?" she asks angrily. We then see Caro pick up a solid metal statue and smash it down on Pia's head. Pia falls, Caro feels for a pulse, doesn't find one, and leaves. It turns out that what we've seen is the official version of what happened. Rivas Macin doesn't believe this version.

preso
Preso No. 1 - Capítulo 39 - Viernes - Parte 2 de 2

We then see a different version, where Caro comes to see Pia, finds the door open and Pia lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Caro hesitantly puts two fingers on Pia's neck, feeling for a pulse. Realizing that Pia is dead, she leaves.

RM is still furious at Chavarria's handling of Pia's death and his inadequate and inaccurate report. He tells Chavarria to leave. Chavarria asks whether he should leave the report with RM. RM says no, and I think he tells him where he could shove it. He also tells him he should stay in his position until RM learns the truth, at which point RM can decide whether to charge Chavarria as an accomplice to murder.

We then see "2 weeks before." Bautista comes to see Pia. He asks what she knows about Guido. She tells him Guido is likely to die soon. Apparently she won't give Bautista the info he's looking for. He leaves, telling her he would like to have negotiated with her. [I confess that I don't understand the situation.] Adonis Madrigal is in a car with I'm not sure who. I would have said Guido, but Guido has been incapacitated by a stroke, while this guy shows no sign of a stroke. He does look very familiar, but I'm drawing a blank. Anyway, Adonis sees Bautista leave Pia's and is both VERY jealous and very insecure. He is terrified that she will compare him with Bautista. He goes to see Pia. He tells her she's the love of his life and accuses her of being a dirty whore. She tells him yes, she's a whore, but no, she's not at all miserable. She also tells him that Bautista is much more of a man than Adonis is. And so is Pedro. And so is Juanito. And even she is more of a man than Adonis is. He grabs her and seems to be unzipping his pants to show her what kind of man he is. She gives him a well-placed kick, and while he's writhing on the floor, she kicks him again. She then says she will call the police. She turns her back on him and begins to call. He comes up behind her with the same solid metal statue we saw Caro supposedly holding, and he slams it down hard on Pia's head. She falls to the floor and a pool of blood starts forming. He leaves. He goes back to the car and tells not-Guido that she didn't even open the door to him. They drive off. A minute later, Caro arrives in a taxi.

There's then a brief scene with Sara and Iturbe. He informs her that they tried to arrest her mother. There's also a scene with Jaime and Isa. Isa protests that he seems more concerned about the baby than about her. He claims that of course he's also concerned about her and about her mother, who will be his mother-in-law. "Huh?" says Isa. He reaches into his jacket and pulls out a box holding a ring. Isa says very strongly "No! Don't do it!"

Carmelo calls Caro. She tells him that Paco is missing. Suddenly a man arrives and tells her that she's under arrest.

preso

I just read over what I had written last night and found an error. Yes, just one, the rest are yet to be discovered. In the antepenultimate paragraph in part2, I wrote "He [Adonis] tells Pia she's the love of his life and accuses her of being a dirty whore." I should have said "miserable whore," since that fits much better with her response: "yes, I'm a whore, but no, I'm not at all miserable." [Actually, I suspect that part of the reason I mentioned this so that I could use the word "antepenultimate," a word I've always liked but never used. :-)]

I might also mention that as much as I've hated all the flashbacks, I hate the flash-forwards more. And the one between Isa and Sara in this episode seems to me especially unnecessary.

So that I won't be seen as totally negative, I should add that I actually LIKED the seeming flashback that showed Caro killing Pia. Of course, it wasn't really a flashback, but a clever way to show what the official version of the investigation claimed. But it took me a few seconds to realize this.

Among the things that puzzled me: Sara says she's not sick, she just has an empty womb. Huh? Does she have a womb at all? Did no one tell her that she's had a hysterectomy? Or did that not happen?

preso

Thanks SO much for the terrific recap and editorial comments, Juanita.

I had the impression that Sara does know she's had a hysterectomy. Maybe empty womb is a poetic way of saying that in Spanish. And I thought she was sort of saying to her whiny sister: I'll never have the "problem" you have of telling our mother I'm pregnant."

Yes, the flash forwards are horrendous. I don't suppose there's any chance other viewers have griped about this and they'll stop it!

Yes, the various alternative scenes of who visited Pia that night were sort of clever, a la Roshomon.

I was feeling for the poor market vendors as Carmelo threw over one after another of their flimsy display tables and their contents.

So, because of the odious flash forwards, I am now completely confused about three different versions of Isa's attitude toward Jaime. In one of the flash forwards Isa wails that he abandoned her when she said she was pregnant. In another FF she's, I think, madly in love with him and worried about his well being [Sara finds out he's dead.]. And, last night she refused to accept an engagement ring. And I'm pretty sure this was during the 2 weeks forward (after Carmelo got away from Mayorga and since Caro is in full campaign mode).

They keep alluding to Diana's magnum opus that she wrote [what?] during her mother's funeral. I had the impression from her harsh words to him that this would be a complete trashing of Carmelo because of what he "did" to her mother. But Caro's campaign team mentions this helped Caro.

There are so many annoying things about this novela, especially grim fast forwards that break the "happily ever after" telenovela mold, but I don't 100% hate it. The actors are good. There's only a tiny bit of narco stuff. And my interest is certainly piqued. I really can't figure out what's going to happen. As we've mentioned, Viewerville suspects that Telemundo chopped it up so as to put the 10-episode thriller on opposite Uni's El Dragón beginning at 10 PM September 30.

I enjoyed Rivas Macin being back in form and ripping Chavarría a new one. So who's in charge here? RM supposedly stopped the arrest warrant for Caro, then at the end of the show someone else seems to have made it happen.

Sin-Seños4 #29 Part 1

El Final del Paraíso

Titi’s call: I declare war! I’ve got Pilar, Cardona jr, y el patron de patrones, Moron, with me. Insults and threats fly. Oh, and Titi will get his daughter back.

Zoraya tries to make a run for it but she can’t outrun Santi. Zoraya says they screwed her over too and they are looking to kill her. Santi presses her for the truth, who are they? He might consider forgiving her if she comes clean. Jota says we should move this to a quieter place. Zoraya knows where they should go—to the cemetery to visit Mateo’s grave!

Pilar has target practice with Titi. Titi explains that in politics and drug trafficking, you can get killed at any moment. Ay, Aurelio, don’t tell me that! He says he hasn’t been called by that name since the DEA arrested him. (Cue Titi’s theme) Pilar is going to call him that, she’s different, and she’s going to help him forget that woman in his heart.

Catagrande calls Vanessa (with Daniel) as she’s rolling up to Shadow’s place. Cata has the lab results on the pill they found. It’s nothing, Vane. It’s chewing gum! Cata needs her at the office but Vane is running an important errand. She’ll be there as soon as she’s finished.

At the cemetery, Zoraya admits all this happened because of her madness, wickedness and her thirst for revenge. She lost Santi, her son and the life she had. She listened to the wrong person. Santi demands answers—who killed my son, who destroyed my life? Zoraya is afraid to tell—you don’t know what this person is like. Santi is angry but unafraid.
Santi wants justice, but Zoraya says, in this country? Justice won’t bring Mateo back but the murderers should pay.

Vane and Daniel meet with Shadow. Daniel hasn’t been able to find anything so far. Shadow asks if they know where Jota is. Shadow wants him dead. He fears Jota will spill if he’s caught. Vane warns him not to harm Jota. Oh, we won’t harm him…. Arturo pulls a gun on Vane. She easily disarms him and has Shadow at gunpoint. Ok, so she’s earned his respect—what does she propose now? We will work together.

CataG goes to Mirta’s wake. For once, she’s not wearing hooker clothes. I was surprised at what Liseth was (barely) wearing. Hilda and Sal fill in CataG. Gabriel is with Liseth and CataG goes over. Liseth is distraught. She tells Cata that Dayana is responsible. Cata seems surprised by this. Liseth wants to become a DEA agent.

dondi356

Sin-Seños4 #29 part 2

El Final del Paraíso

Moron and Cardona talk about CataG. How she was and how she is now DEA. Moron says she may be beautiful but she’s a sapo. She snitched on me, your dad and Marcial. Cardona says he knows and he will make her pay. Cardona is wondering why they should get involved with Titi. They were conducting business with no problems. Moron is willing to take the risk.

Black Hand, Moncho, Dayana and Mari are talking about the traitor, Titi. Moncho wants him dead. Dayana is going to do whatever it takes get that XY4 formula. Black hand reminds her that her life is on the line.

At the wake Hilda and Sal talk about orders coming in. Hilda can’t handle the work alone. Sal has a suggestion to have Jo rent a workshop and hire seamstresses.

Albeiro and Patricia are parked at the gas station. Albeiro is asleep, dreaming that he, Albeirito and CataG are a happy family. When he wakes, Albeiro says we need to get rid of the car and think about what I told you.

CataG fills Liseth in on becoming a DEA agent. It’s not easy, you have to have courage, pass tests, go through rigorous training. You have to be willing to devote your life to it. Oh and there’s a fine line between justice and revenge, remember that.

Cemetery: Santi says we are all going back to Shadow, he’s the only one that can help us. He owes me twice because I saved his life and we found Zoraya.

Conde visits Berrios in the hospital. He brings a fruit basket. Berrios thanks him and then asks him if he had any idea his assistant would become a suicide bomber. Conde had no idea this would happen but he says there is darkness behind it all. Berrios says we will get to the truth.

Hilda agrees to move in with Sal for safety’s sake. I wasn’t clear if this invitation extended to poor Liseth as well.

Jo visits Mateo. She wants his help. Mateo tries to dissuade her. Don’t you realize Sal loves Hilda? No, she wants to plan something for the Buyer’s dinner. Jo will be the fairy godmother and the evil stepsister. And she needs a photographer to capture it when she explodes the bomb.

Black Hand & Co are driving. They are still debating Dayana’s loyalty. She swears she’ll get the job done. They pull over. Hand says this is the end of the line. He takes out a gun and shoots Dayana (it's not exactly clear where he shoots her). Next time we see her, she’s lying on the side of the road.

Sin-Seños4 #29 part 3

El Final del Paraíso

Albeiro and Patricia go their separate ways. He’s done running. He thanks Patricia and tells her to sell the car. OK but first she has something to tell him—Diabla is closer than you think. She’s afraid to say more. Albeiro & son get on a bus. Albeiro calls someone and says I trust you and need to see you. I need you to look after something that’s more important than my own life.

Diabla has joined up with the cartel. She’s worried that Titi will out her. The others think he wouldn’t be so stupid. Mari asks Hand do you think what you did to Dayana will work? Maybe, maybe not but if it works we will be done with Titi & Co.

Titi & Co talk about Diabla and her alter ego, Valeria. The question is how they will stop Black Hand. We need to find his weakness.

Santi, Jota and Zoraya show up at Shadow’s. After Shadow calms down Zoraya asks him, have you heard of Black Hand?

Diabla calls Titi. He says you snitched on me. She says it’s payback for my face transplant. Titi says he’ll out her to the DEA. Well, if you do that…I’ll shoot CataG right between the eyes.

Albeiro calls CataG. He won’t tell where he is. Please protect your mother. Calvo and Yesica were responsible for my disappearance and they will come after Hilda. And did I hear you correctly, Yesica is alive?! Yes, she is and I swear I will hand that bitch over to you. And we're out.

Thanks VERY much, novelera, for your insightful and reassuring comments. I say "reassuring" because I keep assuming that I'm alone in not understanding what's happening, perhaps at least in part because I missed watching the novela for the two weeks I was away. But then I read your comments and find that the novela is simply not clear on any number of points, such as Diana's magnum opus and Isa's attitude toward Jaime.

I very much liked your "a la Roshomon" description of the Pia scenes. And I too found myself feeling sorry for all the merchants and others whose businesses and bodies were tossed aside by Carmelo in his fleeing from the police. I wonder whether he recognized the irony of the disparity between his politics and his actions. I'm not criticizing him--he'd have been crazy to let the police nab him--but the situation did strike me as ironic.

One question: who was the guy in the car with Adonis Madrigal when they saw Bautista come out of Pia's place? He looked so very familiar, but for some reason I didn't know who he was. I thought that by now I'd have been able to put a name with his familiar face, but I'm no further along than I was last night.

I think the guy in the car with Adonis Madrigal may be Piña, the nasty prison warden and overall bad guy. Am I right?

preso

Yep, that was the perennially slimy Piña in the car with Adonis. I did enjoy his nasty cackling that was aimed at Adonis' very brief (he thought sexual) visit with Pia.

"Rashomon", I'll have to watch, love some of Akira Kurosawa works, mostly sword play.

Rivas barked at the AG, what about the two guys in the surveillance video (and it looked clear to me who they were) have they been detained?

and wow everyone left finger prints everywhere, especially the door.

Guido sent Bautisto to Pia, I forget the details, but he wanted to know what Pia had on him (Guido), she didn't, but could, and the negotiations to get what she knew, I thinks we are talking about sex.

Pia was an interesting character, loved how she told Adonis, I am more of a man than you, but how to get him gone, ambulance, police, interesting how a person will turn their back for a phone call.

yep, Pina was driving Adonis, will we ever laugh at him?

I'm loving Sara and Isa together, Isa is so teenager, and Sara is not so far behind..

Thanks very much, deb, for your very helpful comments. I especially appreciated your explanation of the interchange between Bautista and Pia concerning Guido. And yes, it's astonishing that no one has done anything about the two guys in the surveillance video. Chavarria's thinking that he can get away with such a slipshod report says something about how rife the corruption is.

I too loved Pia's put-downs of Adonis, especially her claim that even she is more of a man than he is.

Thank you so much, Juanita. You did a fabulous job of recapping under difficult circumstances—missing two weeks and the heavy editing. Thanks to novelera and deb for your insights.

I’m late to the party. Only had the chance to watch this morning. I think everyone’s covered it all so I don’t have anything to add but my appreciation. I’m in agreement with what’s been said. The Pia murder reveal scenes were well done. The irony of Carmelo overturning tables in the market. The questionable use forward flashes—they are “spoiling” the story.

Confusing to me: Paco is arrested, then not arrested, then missing? Caro is not arrested, then arrested? Can I blame this on the edits?

I’m annoyed but I didn’t 100% hate this either. Just when the story became more complex and interesting for me, was when they took an ax to it. I wonder what the writers, cast and crew think when this happens to their work?

Belated thanks, dondi, for your appreciative comments. And yes, I too am mystified by the now-we-see-them-now-we-don't arrests.

deb, clearly something went crazy on the website, but you always make excellent points, so perhaps having them appear twice is a feature, not a bug :-).

sin-senos4

dondi, your recaps are so cool, they just roll through the story, good details too!

Mateos' tombstone said 2017, we're on a 2 year jump right, so he must have died after we last saw him, probably didn't see it coming as he was playing his video games, or maybe crashed on his new moto.

so Zoraya has been hiding in her old house all these years, they'll never look there.

Moncho wants to kill Titi.

Moncho still wants to kill Titi.

I think the Hand plan is 2 fold, Dayana is to infiltrate Titi's Cartel and steal the XY4 formula (the Hand gave her a (bullet) cover story) and with Diabla's scheme (she discussed during the commercial break) I think is to use CataG to flush him out.

Mariana's job is just to keep snarling, (what will she do now without Dayana her drug supplier).

Moncho wants to kill Titi.

we don't see Natalia or Lucrecia, is there a chance they are secretly meeting?

Preso

you are too kind Juanita.

"PRESO":

Juanita: My Bold Prediction still stands: NO HAPPY ENDING! Like I said when this Telenovela began from the get-go.

Novelera: I tried to warn y'all that Carolina was going to get framed for Pia's murder. We all know Bautista is the one, who whacked Pia.

Deb: Looks like RM will have someone whacked inside Los Pinos this week as the final days of this Telenovela is winding down.
