DAYTIME TNs (#2): Y Mañana Será Otro Día, Hijas de la Luna… y Mas - Week of Oct. 21, 2019
Labels: daytime, hijas, otro-dia
Here is some of the silly stuff Andy left out of Wednesday's episode. I didn't watch it until late at night, but what he did report were almost my exact words. Oh, the best silly scene was unintended. It was the delivery of the bouquets of roses. It took 5 guys, all dressed alike to bring them in, then they marched out in single-file like soldiers.
1. Paloma and Laura get evicted from the Sarmiento house by Diana (for Barb's sake). P doesn't want to go back to granny's.
2. Barb doesn't know what to do about Mau. Di comforts her. Nico tells her he was telling the truth about The Kiss.
3. Rafa tells both Barb and Paloma that Mau isn't good enough for either of them.
4. Inaki's accent is Spanish. He told us he was from Catalonia. He says the name of the Telenovela out loud to Monica!!!! We haven't heard that in a long time, and probably not on Hijas.
Part 1
Papa Juan is sure that if Laureano Brizuela sings at his Anniversary Party, his disgruntled wife will forgive him. After all they courted to his love songs. All their romantic memories are tied to this great singer. There's a serious snag in this plan, thanks to Dario, but the Juana girls can't bear to tell him. So that's our cliffhanger for today. Will Laureano show up or leave them stranded?
Still, other stuff happened, and here's how it went.
Our Juanas, plus madrina and Barb's mom, are staggering home after a wild night of dancing and, for some, drinking. Great fun. They've all noticed that Fernando only has eyes for Juana Victoria [borrego a medio morir]but she brushes that off.
If our gals are happy, Leonora is not. When Juan, Sebastien and Fernando arrive home, they're confronted by a very unhappy Leo, remonstrating that they're off partying with "her enemies" while she suffers alone and abandoned. Fernando offers to stay elsewhere, but she won't have it. There are plenty of spare bedrooms for him. And he's family after all. Fernando is definitely worried about her, once he learns of her "pre-infarto". Anyway, the best part of the scene was a nice view of Sebastien, minus Bermuda shorts or much of anything else, talking over the situation with his cousin afterwards. Lots of landscape. This recapper thanks you, director!
Turns out the big package Seb left on Vicky's bed was a computer. She tries to return it until he explains that it's so she can study for her prepatoria degree on-line. We get lots of his incandescent smiles as he studies Vicky's glee over the thoughtful gift. And some "Almost" scenes where she starts to leave and he whispers "Quedate" (stay) Oh boy! and then he grabs her arm and draws her towards him OH BOY!...but it's all to say that they need to look for Juana Inés' mother. Still...there was mucho chemistry percolating away in this scene, believe me.
Elsewhere, madrina sees Todoelmundo drop a lot of dollars on the floor. He explains that it's part of the monthly stipend Adele, Mundito's mommy, sends for his upkeep. Something fishy here. Stay tuned.
Part 2
Our love-struck half-sibling are looking up info on Inés' mom when she gets a phone call. It's the Brizuela rep, talking over details of the contract. Seb watches all this with--sorry, I can't help it--a smile to die for. Whew! I'd watch his toothpaste commercials anytime, believe me. But alas, the news about Ines' mom is sad indeed. She died in the street of malnutrition. In other words, she died of poverty. No friends or family to claim her so her burial was in a common grave in the Dolores Pantéon.
No one has the heart to give such sad news to Inés, so they fudge it a little. "She died a peaceful death, surrounded by family and friends." And indeed, in a lovely ceremony held on the beach, her daughter IS surrounded by family and friends, as a rowboat, filled with bouquets of flowers and the locket her mother gave her, is set a-flame, and gently pushed into the frothing sea. Hugs all 'round as they watch the little boat bob and weave in the waves, and the flames slowly extinguish like the life they represented.
Juana Victoria pulls away from the group, dealing with her own grief at her mother's recent passing. Fernando is right there, offering his shoulder to cry on and his strong arms for a hug. Sebastien notices all of this and looks worried.
Leonora is worried too. About those dang Juanas and what they must be up to. She's trying to engage the irreproachable Estefania to spy on them. Surely those gals are planning something nefarious. And in the meantime, enjoying a free vacation in her husband's hotel! Estefi gently points out that Juana Victoria is working as a waitress and planning to return to Mexico City when she has enough money. And the Juanas are all lovely!
Wow. Still can't find a thing wrong with the sweet little Estefi. And those blue eyes are about as innocent as a newborn's. Can't say she takes after her scoundrel dad at all. Is she really as perfect as she seems? Another mystery to follow.
Part 3
More cozy family bonding as the girls all comfort Inés. Papa Juan even shows a little empathy as he proposes delaying the anniversary party to allow her time to grieve. Inés points out that actually party planning is a welcome distraction--and she can always grieve inside. So on they go with the project.
Fernando and Sebastien are talking about the ceremony in the latter's office and that's when Cousin Fer drops his bomb. The Juanas are all great [genial] but the one that really lights his fire is the singing, dancing, fascinating Juana Victoria. She makes his breath catch and his pulse race. This must be love at first sight, doncha think!? Seb looks even more worried.
While Juan happily imagines that all will be forgiven, post-fiesta, Leo is meeting with her lawyer and approving the divorce papers he drew up. Of course they will have to be signed by Juan. And what happens if he contests the divorce? What indeed? Another cliffhanger.
Meanwhile, underhanded Dario is throwing a spanner in the works. He's convinced the Brizuela rep that Juana Victoria is untrustworthy. In fact she's known for not paying the singers she contracts. Evidently this is enough for said rep to cancel the contract and Juana Victoria is frantic. What to do, what to do?
Well, one thing she won't do is give the news to Papa Juan. He's just too excited and hopeful for his wife's forgiveness. She can't bear to disappoint him. So what's Plan B?
Part 4
Well, Plan B is to enlist Todoelmundo's internet help to contact Laureano Brizuela directly. And they do. Facetiming frantically, the girls plead that this couple's happiness all depends on him showing up and belting out their favorite love songs. He looks perturbed until suddenly his rep enters the room, sez "who are you talking to?" and Bam! the connection is severed.
Elsewhere, the news seems a little better. Seb is exultant that he's finally gotten the loan approval and can go ahead with his big plans to expand the hotel. Papa Juan still seems a little worried, but Estefi, adorable in a navy chef's hat and "I Love Sebastien" apron, is totally on board. And soooo glad that Seb is going to be able to realize his dreams.
What can I say? This is the perfect fiancée. Gorgeous. Loving. Supportive. Not yet a Stepford Wife, but sure as hell a Stepford Girlfriend. Every lad's dream. Well, one of their dreams anyway. Must be a hitch somewhere but I sure can't see it.
Part 5
Mundito is off to bed, and turns out his favorite bedtime story is to listen (for the 233rd time!) a loving letter from his mom about all the unicorns and cyclops etc. she's finding in her new world up North. And yet, the most important person in her life, is...and always will be...dear little Mundito. He's already asleep by letter's end, and we learn that Todoelmundo has written the letter himself, to make up for Adele's abandonment of her son. (If you've seen the movie No Se Accepten Devoluciones, this scenario seems to come directly from that script).
Okay, my favorite part of an episode. A "5 days later" montage. We see all kinds of preparations for the great day and some fun flirting between Soledad and Octavio, also shirtless with a very respectable six-pack of muscles. The Juanas are all trying on various party dresses--which all look rather horrible to me--and Madrina refuses to let Barb substitute blue jeans for her ensemble. And of course a guayabera shirt for Papa Juan.
Soooo....will Brizuela show? Well, if Dario's phone call in the final scene is any indication, no he will not. Evidently our villain is still pulling strings, hoping to deep-six Leo and Juan's marriage by thwarting a Return to Romance moment.
Stay tuned. I'm trying to be a wee bit worried, but since this is obviously a comedy, I just can't manage to fret. Still, I'm sure we'll have a little turbulence along the way.
Thank you, Judy, for your recap!
The memorial service for J-Inés's mother was very touching. So was Todoelmundo reading that letter to Mundito. No surprise he wrote that himself.
Judy, you described the near kiss of J-Victoria and Seb perfectly. The writers will probably drive Viewerville crazy with these.
But the shirtless scenes were great. LOL
Barbara's dress...ummm...nope. Soledad's with those flowers bouncing and flouncing.....no. 🙄
My money is in Brizuela showing up to sing. Why else would this guy have a cameo in a telenovela?
My apologies, I posted this in this week's page #1 by mistake so I'm reposting it here.
My thanks to everyone for the complimentary comments on the mini micro recraplet yesterday, but I am not actually recrapletting this, just providing the occasional update for those who watched the show before and now can't help but wonder what has happened and if the producers managed to salvage anything of this rather bad TN.
Well, I think they are trying to do just that, with some small success. Diana is out of danger now, Monica's feelings for Camilo are out in the open, Camilo admits that he made love to Monica and now thinks of her differently though he still loves his wife, and Monica is taking baby steps to get past Camilo... maybe.
Anyway, I will from time to time mention some significant, to me, developments, but no true recraps. For instance, I don't care much about Malicio. He's a snake and will in time face the usual telenovela fate of bad guys and be thoroughly trashed. I don't care and won't pay much attention to him.
OTOH, I find Regina to be extremely cute. I know I overuse the word "cute", but I very much like cute, from Regina to Monica's teddy bear to Ximena's upside down St Anthony. But I will later consult a thesaurus to see if I can find a synonym for "cute", and meanwhile will selectively cover any especially cute cuteness as well as, perhaps, the major items like the Monica/Camilo/Diana affair and Chabela and Eugenia's big "secret".
To put it much more succinctly, I'm just commenting, not recapletting. :-)
Chabela gives Laura some good advice on job searching, and a happy Laura gives Chabela a great big hug and says "Too bad you weren't my mother." Chabela's cara muy guilty.
Secret, I think we are closing in on you.
Camilo fires Malicio because Malicio cheated on Barbi with Paloma. The downside of dating the boss' daughter; no separation of business and personal matters here.
Malicio is upset and nasty with anyone who wants to offer sympathy but on his way out he turns smarmy with Camilo. Definitely a snake, and he's sure to cause trouble later; don't expect details. :-)
Pablo and Regina spend some quality time at the hospital planning to be masked Eco protesters together. He gives her a hood-mask and she looks very cute in it. (Whoops! Sorry!)
Camilo and Regina both return to the family home; Diana wants a reconciliation with Camilo, but he's a bit unsure, things have changed.
Monica is still enjoying herself at the resort and spending time with Iñaki, some of it discussing his career suggestions for her. Later he takes her on a ride in a dune buggy (or whatever it is) and teaches her how to drive it. She has a lot of fun driving while he sits behind her with his arms around her waist. All very close and friendly, but so far totally platonic.
:-)
andy
Judy, thank you for this excellent recap, though I did have to wipe a little of your drool off my copy here. You need to calm down when you discuss shirtless beefcake, lady. :-)
"But alas, the news about Ines' mom is sad indeed. She died in the street of malnutrition. In other words, she died of poverty. No friends or family to claim her so her burial was in a common grave in the Dolores Pantéon."
This upsets me, and it seems a little out of place in this sort of telenovela. But if true, what was her situation when Don Juan met her, and how did she come to such an unhappy end?
Meh :-(
andy
JudyB, thank you for filling in my many gaps. I tried to watch today, but had some interruptions. I did however catch that close up of Seb's face and beautiful smile (I'm me-e-e-lting :-)
The memorial service was indeed very lovely; and I must give muchos points to Seb and J-Vic for keeping the truth about how the mom died from J-Inez.
Doris, "My money is in Brizuela showing up to sing. Why else would this guy have a cameo in a telenovela?" Excellent point!
Mañana Será Otra Pesadilla (thanks Doris :)
Anita, thank you for the added details on Mañana. If there is a scene I would like to have seen, it would have been the five guys bringing in the roses. The only thing that spoils it is that they were from Malicio. I hope Barb kicks him to the curb soon.
Andy, call it what you may, I am still impressed by your whatevers and I still think you would make a really good recapper. Thank you for all the "whatevers" of this pesadilla. I really don't have time to watch or else I MIGHT tune in to catch up. It's nice to know that we have you and Anita to keep us posted. It's a pesadilla, but we still wonder about it.
BTW, in my world we use "Que cute" (How cute!) or "Que cutito(a)" ALOT! That's an example of what we call Tex-Mex language :-)
Andy, " what was her (J-Inez's mom) situation when Don Juan met her, and how did she come to such an unhappy end?" I was wondering about that too! Hopeofully some light will be shed.
Oooh, and I like your use of "Don Juan." It fits him perfectly!
JudyB—Thanks for covering Thursday’s episode, even though you didn’t want to. Good job. Loved your aside about Seb’s to die for smile. A nice SHAZAM moment—as was the deal over the computer. When we get a close-up of that smile, I see perfectly formed lips anyone would get shivers kissing. They are almost up to the same level as Jorge Salinas’ lips.
To be perfectly honest, though, I’d rather have me a Bermuda Boy than a Hatted Ascot Boy, but that’s just me (clean shaven is also more appealing to me).
Susanlynn—I’m amazed as well by the number of English words that have made it into Spanish. It just shows that language and culture (and cuisine) can go both ways. I think it’s silly when one telenovela will subtitle a word like “Bye” and “OK” when they are for all practical purposes acquired by the Spanish-speaking population.
MANANA
Andy—We just can’t rip the band-aid off this sore that is this show. A couple of things. Rafa gets the go-ahead from Camilo to bring on his buddy from Florida, now that he’s lost Mau and Monica. Yes, Mau is jobless but I bet not penniless. If the embezzlement is discovered, Rafa will be blamed first.
Oh, and did you catch that Reggie was given RED JELLO on her tray? All that was missing was the pear floating in it for her to think this is all as ridiculous as we do.
"Oh, and did you catch that Reggie was given RED JELLO on her tray? All that was missing was the pear floating in it for her to think this is all as ridiculous as we do."
Anita - too funny!!!
Anita, thanks for your comments on this lame, but slightly improved, show.
But:
"Oh, and did you catch that Reggie was given RED JELLO on her tray? All that was missing was the pear floating in it for her to think this is all as ridiculous as we do."
QTH??? I didn't notice, and if I had it would have meant nothing to me, but you and Doris find it extremely funny.
What am I missing here? Clue me in if you can.
Almost time for El Hotel de los Secretos!
andy (I'm on a different computer)
Anita can probably give you the exact quote. I think she has archived all of them.
It's good advice for a number of life's challenges. Cheaper and simpler than Zoloft!
What has happened to my favorito a trio,Angelica Vale,,to ta take a role of a misguided mistress for a character like Camilo...?.I started watching y manana sera otro dia mejor few weeks back, because of Angelica..
Just my thoughts today...
Thank you..
Maureen: mhintlfreight@yahoo.com
http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2019/03/ay-caray-did-i-say-that.html
We have been so disappointed in Angelica in this role. We have hated the show, and hated most of the characters, including "Monica". But Andy and Anita have stuck with it to give us glimpses of the carnage after Doris and I bailed a couple of weeks ago. Just found it to be a miserable experience.
On the other hand, we're enjoying Hijas. It's pure cotton candy--and no Angelica Vale--but lots of beach side eye candy for us aging Cougars and Silver Foxes.
"incandescent smiles" was lovely and "Leonora is worried too. About those dang Juanas and what they must be up to" made me smile.
Andy, ditto for your "recraplet". I think the pear floating in red jello comment years ago came from Creemelo. Anita, who has a better memory than I will likely clarify.
Prefer "Bermuda Boy than a Hatted Ascot Boy". Yes, Anita, I'm in. And doris, I'm also in for any shirtless and or swimming scenes (ahhh, Fuego en la sangre)…
Rgv Chick, haven't seen Sebas here but he is hawt. No doubt.
Glad you are all having such fun.
Diana
Diana, I inserted a photo of Sebas on the current page. He was looking deeply into J-Vic's eyes and how she managed to restrain herself from grabbing and kissing him is unbelievable (or maybe they had to do a lot of retakes on this scene :-). I definitely would not have hesitated in putting a "lip lock and vacuum weld" (thank you, Andy) on those lips:-)
I was just checking and saw it!!! I was like, how did I EVER miss that! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
He is classically handsome and there is nothing wrong with that! A dreamboat (as I used to say back in the day).
And yes, I would be flubbing my lines in order to have a retake. Again. And Again...
Oh my...you've made my day Rgv Chick. Truly!!
Diana
I just saw the quote. Cremello asked a question, the pear floating in jello answer was from NJ Sue.
I mean, I had to come back to view someone's gleaming white teeth and flawless smile, right?
Diana
JudyB, wiping the drool off her screen as Andy Banda suggested
Patio, this brief recap is full of bad translations, errors, and omissions. Please(!) correct and/or fill in with whatever you can add. There were times their fast speaking and Comcast’s bad CCs left me guessing. Or wondering QTH? #feelingincompetent
Scenes have been combined, etc.
The good news: Laureano Brizuela sang at the party!
The bad news: Leo is still mad at Don Juan and still wants her divorce and the girls to leave town.
On to the story…
Leo is moaning to Stefi that JuanO didn’t even send her flowers for their big anniversary. Woe is her.
Stefi does her part to entice Leo to the fake dinner at Dario’s, which is the plan to get Leo to JuanO’s surprise anniversary party. Later, she is shocked that Leo is not dressed for the party. ---“I’m too depressed” says a crying Leo. In the meantime Stefi looks like a knockout with her big hair, big boobs, big false eyelashes, and her big kind heart.
The party dresses for Sol & Barb are the same ones we saw in yesterday’s episode. J-Vic’s dress is so perfectly 1980s, she looks like she stepped out of one of those Thalia telenovelas.
J-Ines’ dress was the worst. I swear they’ve got that girl padded with a fat suit under her clothes.
Leo arrives at the party with Stefi, thinking it is the dinner Dario is putting on (the plot to get her there). Once she sees JuanO, she starts to leave, but … yes! Laureano Brizuela starts singing. Leo stops, eyes get big, turns around, cara de encantada (while Dario is sort of rolling his eyes in the audience) and she lets JuanO escort her to the stage.
Leo is all smiles until Brizuela announces that the four hijas of Don Juan are there. Whaaaa…..? Leo goes all demon-face and tells him THEY ARE NOT HER HIJAS!. (She does have a point. Dario is smirking in his own slimy way. Oh, yes, he is pretty sure he has a chance with Leo now)
Next, Leo says to JuanO, “so you put this party together so I would forgive you?” She stomps off the stage, insulted that las Juanas were at a party dedicated to HER.
Leo tells Dario a short time later --- “ I am suffering while those girls are celebrities! Gah! Oh the injustice! (well, she didn’t say all that) What would make me the happiest if they disappear from Mazatlan and if JuanO goes too, that would be the icing on the cake!” Some hand porn ensues.
So, back at the party, Sebas announces that the party will go on and Brizuela will continue to sing. (yayyy!_) The crowd cheers! They’re no fools. Free food! Free booze! Free Brizuela concert! Woot! We’re in!!!
Todo & Mundito are so cute in their (again) matching shirts, dancing at the party with Teresa. Will those two become a couple by the Gran Fin? Stay tuned.
Mauricio sits down next to Ines at the party table, invites her to dance, she freaks out and runs away.
Octavio and Sol are dancing. He ogles a blonde bimbo in a dress shorter than my tunic tops. Sol tells him he is just like Genaro and dumps him. To Octavio’s credit, he ogled the blonde when she walked back again, in the other direction, but he did not follow her. Maybe there is hope?
Meanwhile, Sebastian is book-ended by Stefi and J-Victoria but only has eyes for J-Vic. Finally he grabs Vic’s hand and leads her out to the beach. Yep, that same beach.
Seb: I can’t take it anymore! I’m dying of love for you!
J-Vic: I love you like nothing else in this world. Te amo. (!!!) Blah blah blah
J-Vic: But you are going to marry Stefi and I’m not going to disrupt that. She is wonderful and adores you! But the bottom line is WE ARE HALF-SIBLINGS! I’ve got to leave town….being close to you is torture.
Seb: Promise me you’ll stay!
Seb: We need to change this to brotherly love (yeah, good luck with that, kiddos) so they agree and seal the deal with a handshake. (but no hand porn)
Convo later between Xavi & JuanO. The Great Brain Trust that is JuanO (not!) now realizes that having his four illegitimate daughters at this party was not a good idea. (no Mensa shirt for him) The moment has arrived to choose between Leo and his hijas.
Much later that night, las Juanas encounter JuanO, who tells them he wants to talk to all of them tomorrow. Hijas say “why not tonight?” Juan says “now is not a good time. Mañana sera otro día.” OMG! Is there a bingo square for saying the title of the telenovela …er…pesadilla most of us have recently deserted? But I digress.
The girls don’t think this bodes well.
Why does Fernando wear that hat indoors??? Was he raised by wolves?
We see J-Vic brushing her hair, remembering Seb’s voice telling her how deep his love is for her, yadda yadda yadda. She sobs. Girl got it bad.
Next day:
Xavi and Sebas are talking about changing a hotel supplier. Xavi tells him they would have to evaluate everything and he doesn’t want to get a provider that has lesser quality; we have the best in town right now. I guess this convo was important for future reference.
We see the notario leaving JuanO’s office, and JuanO tells Sebas to go get las Juanas.
Final scene (before Sebas has found las Juanas) --- Las Juanas are all saying “JuanO can’t do this to us!” as they are storming thru the hotel lobby. I’m not sure if he has talked to them already. Then they run into Leo who is all “how dare you come to my house? Have you no shame?” Lots more drama but I think the girls told her they would all leave town if Leo would forgive JuanO. Leo dramatically thanks God they’ll leave, but doesn’t sound like she is going to stop the divorce proceedings.
They were all talking too fast and the CCs weren’t much help, so if you can fix this last scene, please do.
That’s all, Patio. Have a great weekend!
"big hair, big boobs, big false eyelashes, and her big kind heart". HA!
"Mañana sera otro día.” OMG! Is there a bingo square for saying the title of the telenovela …er…pesadilla most of us have recently deserted?" made me smile.
I wonder how long Sebas and J-Vic will last with their vow to be purely platonic?
Judy, just so that I can be sure I have the right face with the right actor/character, I will be forced to view Rgv's shot of Danilo. Again. Repeatedly. The things a gal has to do in the name of research. Sigh.
doris, thanks so much!
Diana
Gosh Doris, no need to apologize. Great recap and no problems. Especially loved this:
In the meantime Stefi looks like a knockout with her big hair, big boobs, big false eyelashes, and her big kind heart.
Yes, our Stefi continues to be irreproachable. Although they really overdid the makeup on her for the party. Was that the 80's look? And also loved your notation of Juana Victoria looking like a refugee from a Thalia telenovela in her overdone dress. And Lordy, the outfit that Leonora was wearing!...and the earrings! I'm surprised her earlobes were dragged down to her shoulders with all that weight.
The scene at the end, as I understood it, was the girls were apologizing for disturbing her marital happiness...but also begging her to forgive Juan because they wanted to stay and wanted to stay all together. Leo wasn't having it. Juana Inés even mentioned again the Christian principle of forgiveness and had no more luck with that pitch than the good priest.
So on we go.
Also, I'm finding this really choppy. Scenes don't segue into each other with any flow. They almost seem random. Cobbled together in a haphazard fashion. So it IS sometimes hard to follow the narrative.
But...after the daily horror of Mañana, I'm not going to seriously complain about this marshmallow of a story. Goes down easy and is quickly forgotten.
Doris, thank you for this excellent recap; if there was anything missing or wrong you couldn't prove it by me, and it was great fun to read. I especially loved "In the meantime Stefi looks like a knockout with her big hair, big boobs, big false eyelashes, and her big kind heart." It was so true. When I saw her I thought right away that I hadn't seen hair that big in years. I'm a fan.
OK, the Juanas are (sorta) cutitas, (thanks Rgv Chickie), but Leonora definitely keeps stealing the show.
Juana Victoria is so silly, getting so upset over Babyface. Why doesn't she just pull his shorts down?
To check for a lunar birthmark, I mean.
:-)
andy
Adrián, now a handyman, fixes a faucet for Granny Eugenia and Chabela. He accidentally hears Eugenia say to Chabela that Diana was such an adorable little baby, why did anyone want to give her up for adoption? Adrián asks "Say what???" or something to that effect. Adrián thinks Diana is entitled to know she's adopted, but Granny Eugenia strongly disagrees and forces him to keep it a secret but lets him know that Laura, too, is adopted. (It sure might have helped Diana to know that it was not her biological grandmother and great-grandmother who died of breast cancer.)
I'm disappointed in Pablo. He wants cutie pie Regina to find a way to make a copy of the keys to Adrián's van, with all its tools and equipment. He plans to "borrow" and use it to play tricks on polluters, open their chained gates with the tools in the van, stuff like that. Meh. He shouldn't be advocating for a better world by "borrowing" other people's things and he should definitely not be involving our pregnant, underage cutie pie.
Paloma, unhappy at crabby Granma's house asks Rafa if she can move in with him, into the room Camilo has vacated to move back home with Diana. He reluctantly agrees.
BTW, it looks like Rafa is a good guy after all, but I still don't much like him. I'm not sure why, maybe it's his aftershave. Ximena seems to like it though.
Monica is her usual self, thinking back to good times with Camilo at work, etc., and spending a little time with Iñaki. Ximena wants to know if Iñaki is handsome but Monica tells her to calm down, there is nothing going on between the two of them.
Hmmm... dull way to end the week, but there it is.
:-)
andy
The fun in it.That was sweet what they did for Inez. But I can imagine Leo
Finding out and telling Inez just to hurt her.
Why don't she give herself a chance to
Get to know her stepdaughters.(Gulp)
Mundito's mom will come back once she
Gets a wiff of the money her baby boy
Has been associating with.
That could turn out to be a disaster or it could bring back "memories of a time they left bebind" sing it babs.
Leonora is hiding something. I just know it.
Now I gotta read the recap from today.
This was fun judyB. Thanks
NINA..loved your shoutout to the Streisand movie and the song. Just sweet. Leonora is definitely hiding something and the sooner it comes out, the sooner she'll be able to forgive Juan. 'Cause she's not perfect either.
DIANA...I hope you can also see a picture of Sebastian with a big smile that shows his splendid teeth. It really is a showstopper.
SUSANLYNN...Yes, Marshmallow Stories are definitely preferable to the darkness of the evening shows this season. When even Kirby finds the carnage of el Dragon to be too much, you know it's getting rough.
ANDY...Laughed at your "maybe it's his aftershave". I know what you mean. He's clearly a good guy but something about him is creepy and off-putting. And I really really don't like Eugenia. What possible reason could she have for not telling her daughters they're adopted. Especially with the cancer scare. A lot of pain and cruelty could have been avoided if she'd just been honest.
Judy - thank you for clearing up the conversation in that final scene! Your version makes better sense.
I'll take a marshmallow telenovela any day. I had Cuna recorded, read the first recap, and never bothered to watch that recording. And after reading the comments here, I am so very glad I did not try Dragón. Ugh... too much darkness and violence in the daily news here; local, national, international. More of the same does not appeal to me as entertainment. I am a marshmallow. Bring on the fluff! :-)
Andy - thank you for the update on Mañana. We all were beginning to suspect Diana was adopted. So, Adrian is doing the Marido al Alquiler thing. Good to see he is working.
English words worming their way into Spanish language -- in my limited exposure, I have heard native Spanish speakers using words like "lonche"(lunch) and "yarda" for yard.
Mundito is a cutita patutita (cutie-patootie!) He might be giving Nico a run for Best Child Actor this year.
What a wonderful treat it is to come in from morning chores and feast my eyes on such a wonderful recaplet and comments. You all have made my day already!
JudyB, I agree that Stefi is irreproachable and am wondering if she is going to stay like that. If she does, it will only make it so much harder for J-Vic to take Luscious Lips Seb from her. I too thought she looked like a knockout. Had she worn a little black spandex blouse and black spandex pants she could have been a double for "Sandy" in "Grease."
Andy, I volunteer to go pull Luscious Lips' pants down to check for a birthmark...or whatever :-D
Mañana - THanks Andy for the update. So the girls are adopted; hmmm for a while I thought Chabela would turn out to be the real mom.
OT - Doris, the use of "Spanglish" is rampant. Here are a few others--
Park -> parkealo (par kĕ a lô)
cake -> caque (kā kĕ)
plug -> plogue (plô gĕ)
jack (tire) -> yaque (ya kĕ)
flat (tire) -> flat as in "La llanta esta flat." (The tire is flat)
sorry -> sorrillo (sô rē yô)
Google it -> googlealo (go͞ol əl ĕ a lô)
More laters; gotta go mow some grass.
So thanks for the offer and just choose the day you prefer.
Judy--I can do a Tuesday recaplet.
I wish Andy would volunteer. Too bad you can't just nominate him.
And certainly I can nominate ANDY. I can even beg him. ANDY I'M BEGGING YOU PLEASE!!!!! But I can't make him join the Hijas Recapping Team. Only he can decide to do that.
BUT YES, ANDY, DORIS AND ANITA AND I WOULD LOVE IT IF YOU'D HELP TOO. Whatever day you want amigo.
But if you prefer to keep us laughing over the sad events in Mañana, that's okay too. We all love your humor, wherever you care to place it.
Gee, guys, thank you very much, but "I will not accept if nominated and will not serve if elected."
:-)
Very sweet of you all, but I would be doing you an injustice to try to recap this TN. First, I have never recapped before, and I don't feel I watch carefully enough to recap. In truth I barely watch Hijas and occasionally just skim the recaps and comments. The little I do watch is because I love this daytime patio (and have pretty much completely abandoned watching violent evening narco shows). When I do watch Hijas it's often late at night before or after El Hotel de los Secretos (which airs 11:30 PM to 12:30 AM) and with my thumb on the FFWD button... and not just because of the commercials. I really watch just enough to follow the comments others make.
So any mini-recraplet I might do would go up quite late and be quite jaded.
Possibly, probably, because of TN overload I have not been able to warm up to this telenovela except for a few of Leonora's antics, and I have been sorely disappointed in the eye candy offered. I'm not sure why.
I actually find Mañana more interesting, and I think it's much improved, and will furnish the occasional update for those still curious.
Thanks anyway.
andy
