El Dragón #8, 10/9/19: Missions Impossibles Or New Tricks For His Trade

As the elevator doors begin to close two guns from Sergei's goons manage to poke through.  Miguel and Karina are looking at cooked goose dinner--theirs--but Mig has hidden talents he was taught in the orient and plies them now.  Both goons (lookin' like midget versions of fans leftover from an '80's ZZ Top concert) are taken by surprise (not to mention dreamy crispy creamy Karina) as he two-hand triple throws them (is that a judo term?) upside down and out and onto the floor long enough to escape them and Sergei, and to meet up with Adela in the parking garage as planned.  They drive to have their lunch with Ruso numero uno -Alexi?--after all.    Alexi is totally down with Miguel's operation and they seal the deal over Mexican pizza and vodka shots?

Karina is ready to give Miguel his just desserts but he cannot perform "el sexo" when a problem still remains.  He leaves.

When Mig arrives back at the hotel he is waiting for Sergei's entrance with a very reasoned explanation as why Sergei should put down his gun and go for the gold.  Sergei sees the eastern light and exchanges his pistol for the promised pile o' pesos Mig has promised him. (He has thrown in a contract of a soccer player's earnings percentage  I believe.)  Problem solved.

Pleased with himself, Mig returns to Karina's for pink champagne and some rather racy red and black lace.

At the same time, Epigmenio, the head porker, is making do with Drug Pusher Chano's citified pigpen, gathering more pigs and pistolas for his pork posse which he eventually hopes to use to permanently put away Miguel.

The next morning at the new CDMX manse, Chisca comes to the breakfast table dressed in footy pj's to harass Adela for daring to remain in the family digs instead of the servants' quarters like Rosario.  She mentions that her big brother arrived late last night and was really exhausted--and not because he'd spent time at the gym-- wink wink.  After rudely eating what she wanted then off Adela's plate she gets mad a Rosario's interference and throws the food she was munching at him in perfect temper tantrum mode then leaves.  Adela lets it roll off her like water off a duck's back.  (What else can she do?)

Meanwhile, vacationing Tax Man, is gathering information on Miguel.  Then goes back to the hotel to watch his wife while she gladly performs bedroom feats with a male prostitute.  Seems Tax Man has strange proclivities which make him vulnerable.....

And, if that weren't enough, Dora discusses her doubts with her head accountant at dead hubby's choice of putting Miguel at the head of El Salado syndicate.  The advisor tells her he feels she is doing a terrific job managing the businesses Lamberto left her.  Mig's doing an excellent job also he says and she just needs to give him a chance to prove himself.  If he doesn't succeed, they will lose everything she reminds Mr. Advisor.

Hacker Guy--Manuel, aka El Flaco-- has finished setting up his systems.  Flaco explains it's all virgen equipment which is supposedly the best kind to use for hacking (not that I would know or understand.  Nor does Miguel.) Mig is pretty much from the laissez faire school of management satisfied.  Flaco also brings in a female hacker with as many tat's as he has and an attitude as his assistant.  Mig has no objections as long as she can do what she says.  She's going to help him Viewerville assumes.

Across town Hector chats with murdered girl's parents.  While looking through her things he finds a key which he (and we) assumes augurs hidden treasure in the way of illegal documents and doings.  In a flashback we learn she looks like the girl who was having an affair with Mr. Pol, her boss--yeah, the one who fell and hit her head and was carried off by Pig's goons.

Tax Man follows Karina to the bank and after she leaves tricks the well-meaning clerk into revealing whose account she transferred money to.

Jimena has come up with an idea to hook 3 major investors she's researched.  There'll a bidding on a green project  but the hook is that Mig's company is the only one doing it but they'll reel in the fish (those 3 I think) to get cash flow.  (Dunno.  If somebody else can explain it go ahead.)

Adela meets up with Miguel that afternoon to pick him up after work.  She meets Flaco.  Mig's been meditating and she's enthralled with the view from the window at sunset.  He's enthralled with her.  They agree it's all "perfecto."

That night Mig has a dream about Aysa and letting go.  He uses a different technique than a cold shower:  an ice bath for his head....go figure.

The next day Miguel brings in his siblings to see El Flaco's "gaming room"/set up being they're all about the same age.  Jorge is suddenly very excited and knows all about Flaco's equipment and techniques.  When Girl Assistant shows up he has a muy male moment.

As for Chisca, she's excited to learn that there's a way to spy on anybody anywhere in the world.  She has El Flaco explain the method and uses Rape Guy who still lives in Spain as a "test subject".  They observe how rotten he treats his live-in.  Totally selfish and rudely ignoring her when she comes in to ask him something.

Pig invites Chano to become his bidnez partner.  Chano grunts a warning to Pig over a couple of tragos that once he's part of the PigPen, nobody will ever be ablet to get him out.  (May he drown in the deepest of mud puddles.  įSalud!)

Chisca remembers what she's learned and hooks in on the dude again using her laptop once she's back home in her bedroom.  He's graduated from date rape to blackmail.  His target is some rich young 30 something guy.  They've met up at some happy hour in some fancy glass and brass bar.

Chisca listens in and then goes for a pistola which she points at the screen.  "Pow!" she whispers at the computer screen.

Jardinera: Loved your recap.

I asked this before..but was Lamberto really trying to kill his son? Couldn’t figure out,..please help....Thx. More hackers in this tale a la Sin Miedo a la .Verdad.

Thank you, Jardinera. This was just great.

Very entertaining episode but Miguel needs a new ringtone.

Thank you Jardinera. Boy, Mr. Taxman sure has some kinky ways. He's disgusting! It was funny to see Sofia Castro in her role as El Flaco's partner. The last time I saw her, she was playing a teenager in "Vino el Amor."

As for Miguel, I think it's just "sex" for him. Not personal, just business.

I think Miguel uses sex the way others might use alcohol or drugs. To take the edge off, and dull the pain. It's pleasure without real intimacy because what he had with Asya made him vulnerable and he does not want to be in that place again. He will resist falling in love again with everything he's got. Plus, he's making power plays and that in itself is an aphrodisiac.

Thanks, Jardinera. Great title and recap. more pigs and pistolas for his pork posse -- squeal!

Anon@12:58, Yes, Don Lamberto did order a hit on his son. Pig had doctored a tape to make Don Lamberto believe his son had betrayed and was out to get him, but this wasn't true.

Color me flabbergasted. I didn't foresee Tax Man's kinky. Oh well, he and his wife make quite the swingers.

My biggest takeaway: Bad guys, why waste your time pointing a gun at Mig? Better you get him to hire you.

Once Chisca exacts her revenge on the date rapist, will she become a better person and stop dissing Adela?

Jardinera... PigPen...that's so funny, and staying in a storage locker packed with cardboard boxes!

Maybe I'm just let down after the first episodes, but now it seems as if the Novela has lost its rhythm and the introduction of the Ruzzies has not added one iota of anything exciting.

I know Chisca will be nothing but bad news. I couldn't stand to watch her in CdL because she has such an annoying, protruding chin that bothers me to no end, so I'll never get into the character she's playing. Yes, I apologize for my frivolousness. But even her acting stinks.

I'm a real prude ------ Poor Gaviota, I'd be having heart palpitations if my kids dressed like Sofia Castro does here.

Im disappointed that Miguel isn't on top of things like he should be. For someone so intelligent that is. Adela is reading his environment % than he is.

Just catching up and wanted to give a big round of applause to our recappers. The dialogue is tricky to hear sometimes so everyone's outstanding translations are a tremendous help.

Sorry, I am so late to this party, my friends. It has been a crazy week. I wanted to respond to this question, see if I can explain it at all.

"Jimena has come up with an idea to hook 3 major investors she's researched. There'll a bidding on a green project but the hook is that Mig's company is the only one doing it but they'll reel in the fish (those 3 I think) to get cash flow. (Dunno. If somebody else can explain it go ahead.)"

What is going on here is that they are bidding on a engine prototype named Grace that they will use to legitimize their business. The three men are investors who also want the prototype and will be bidding against them. The idea is that with a business just starting out in the stock market, you have to give people a reason to buy stock, create buzz. By buying the prototype, leaking the info they basically legitimize their shell businesses and make people buy stock therefore increasing their stock value, which means the stock they own increases in value. So their capital earns a profit. But the way they are doing it is all illegal. They need that prototype, they need to have an actual product, otherwise why would anyone buy their stock. I hope that clarifies.

Esther
