Hey Nina,

In response to your last comment, Kemal and Nihan were in heaven for a few moments but reality set in for Kemal first. He doesn’t want to have a romance with her while she is still married to Emir. Nihan hasn’t been given the push she needs to leave Emir yet, and so Kemal is tired of being the one to constantly pull ahead for their future.

As for Asu and her uncle, they should be embarrassed that they need to pressure Kemal into marriage. Even Kemal has a hard time looking at Asu now. Someone should tell her to get over it.

Someday we will see Emir’s ETERNO pucker slide off his face. Someday.

Some of Monday’s episode:

Vildan finds out at the office that she was never meant to own the title to Leyla’s home. Galip assures her the property will stay under the family name, which Nihan and Emir will inherit.

Asu keeps milking her uncle’s sickness to get enough sympathy from Kemal so that he’d marry her. She claims she’s afraid to be alone. Earlier, Asu had spoken to Kemal’s mother, to recruit her to the cause. Fehime swears that Kemal will marry Asu.

Tariq finally arrives at his parents’ home. Fehime tiptoes around him, but Hussein wants to have a talk with him.

Leyla appears at the Kozcouglu offices with Kemal. They’re ready to make heads roll.

Galip, Emir, Onder, Vildan and other partners are holding a meeting to vote on a business deal. Leyla appears at the right moment to take her place as a shareholder. Vildan immediately gets up to tell her that she cannot be there. Leyla coldly informs her that she will no longer represent her in the company and she shows her the documents. Vildan is embarrassed this is happening before everyone and doesn’t know what else to say. Galip requests to see the documents and Emir comments that “this aunt is more trouble than she’s worth.” Leyla presents herself before the shareholders, seemingly happy to take her rightful place. Vildan can’t believe her sister did this to her, but Onder tells her that she started it.

Fehime gives Tariq a meal. Hussein takes the opportunity to speak to him. He asks Tariq where he has been all this time since the fight over Zeynep. Tariq doesn’t want to give answers and demands that they trust him or ask Kemal what he’s been up to, if they’re so curious. Hussein then offers Tariq his business and requests that he stay with his family as they are getting older and will need him. He adds that the doors to the Soydere home will be open so long as he doesn’t bring shame to the family and behaves himself. Tariq rejects the offer and doesn’t finish his meal. Hussein laments that things will never be the same again: two children are lost and the family will never eat dinner together again. Where have they gone wrong? Fehime, however, has hope that all of her children will come back.

Nihan finds Tariq as he’s leaving the Soydere home. She yells his name out and asks if they can talk about Karen’s murder.

Hey Patio,

First, thanks AnonFri for clarifying the number of episodes. I had read that there were 74...but did not know they were 2 hour ones! Obviously you are correct since Uni hasn't said "ultimos capitulos." And if I heard correctly, a while back Emir said to Kemal that within 3 months he'd be put to the test with his siblings. I don't think it's being sliced and diced, one thing I like about this TN is the pacing, editing is good.

Unfortunately I think we can see where the plot is headed since our couple has to be kept apart so much longer. That delicious post-kidnap kiss was a turning point for Kemal, put him over the edge, he can't go on any longer as things are, but tough to think he'll allow himself to be guilted into Asu.

And AnonFri, thanks so much for all your snappy recaps! You've really been keeping things going. I appreciate you! Last night the shareholder's meeting left me confused, so special thanks for those details.

Zeynep is prowling around the house trying to figure out what's up with Emir and Nihan's "marriage." Her wheels are spinning. When Vildan suggested Zeynep go back to school, Nep said she needs to become familiar with the household and how to take care of Ozan, ha.

Emir told Nihan that Tariq had murdered Karen. Eyebrows raised. Nihan runs to tell Kemal, he refuses her calls, she and her miniskirt get in his car, Kemal says "I knew it...I warned Tariq."

Random observations:
Tariq has a unique ringtone too, like a battery running down.
The men wear a lot of royal blue!
The swimming pool at Emir's house comes right up to the wall.
Saw a pic of the Emir actor on a web page. Smiling! He looked totally different without the ETERNO pucker.

Vildan is a piece of work she is. I can't believe my sister is doing this to me".
We'll Im sure Leyla at onetime thought her sister Wouldnt steal her home from her. But like onder said, "you started it". And Now she knows that fat galip stole it From Her. Don't these people know that What goes around also comes around? And it's Usually worst for the person that done wrong To the one they thought they dooped. She's not done getting her comeuppance. She still thinks she's better than zeynep just cuz she's from the other side of the tracks.

Jarifa, I think the Thursday page will work, as I’m already accustomed to posting that way. But let me know if you prefer otherwise. Can’t wait for next week! I hope others will be interested in watching Cuna as they are in La Usurpadora.

Clara, I noticed Tariq’s annoying ringtone when he was with Banu and Kemal was at the doorstep asking him where he has been. It just dies out towards the end, which kind of represents him, despite what he tells Banu about starting a new life with her. He doesn’t realize that Emir is sucking the life out of him rather fast.

I wonder why Leyla allowed Vildan to represent her in the business. I guess it was so that she could remain in the family home? Leyla was definitely taken advantage of when she lost Onder to Vildan. I suppose she allowed herself to be represented because she didn’t want to bother seeing them at the meetings. But for once Leyla looked like she was beginning to live, after her long hibernation period.

I saw pics of Emir the actor too! I wonder what kind of characters he’s usually given, because he did look very different. But he definitely rules the Eterno face.

Nihan speaks to Tariq in her car. He swears he didn’t kill Karen, but Nihan shows her disbelief and tells him to wary of Emir.

The shareholder meeting has ended and Leyla is putting away her welcome packet. Vildan and Onder are on their way out but she stops to tell Leyla she will regret what she has done and that she will come begging for mercy soon. Leyla tells her that even Vildan herself doesn’t believe that. Vildan exits the room, but Onder lingered a moment longer and tells Leyla to be strong. Galip and Emir watch; Onder notices and walks out.

Galip offers Leyla advice. He believes that she voted no because of her inexperience. Emir butts in and lets her know he doesn’t like her vote. She calls him a cretin, letting him know she’s voting as she wishes to, but not against the Kozcouglu vote in particular. As soon as she leaves, Galip tells Emir not to mess with Leyla. He will know soon enough why.

Kemal is looking for Banu to clarify Tariq’s alibi. She’s out of the Kozcouglu offices today. Soon Leyla comes up to him and lets him know she followed his directions and voted against everything. She seems very excited at her newfound voice. As soon as Kemal sees Emir he asks her if they can speak later, and she agrees. Kemal grabs Emir by the elbow and tells him he knows he’s trying to frame Tariq for the murder. Emir feigns innocence but lets him know he’s not setting up a trap: Kemal will find out the truth the hard way.

At some point Kemal speaks to Zehir over the phone and lets him know that Emir is setting up his brother for the crime. Zehir looks unconvinced and suggested that perhaps Tariq did pull the trigger. Kemal doesn’t believe so, and Zehir keeps his thoughts to himself. Before hanging up, they both agreed to investigate further; Zehir mentioned that Tanner is nowhere to be found, but Kemal tells him he’s likely dead already.

Tariq is looking for Emir but finds Tufan instead. He demands to know why Emir told Nihan about Karen. Tufan tells him to trust his boss, but Tariq clarified that he trusts Emir, but not Tufan. He’s willing to speak against him. Tufan raises the stakes and lets him know that he knows he’s in a relationship with the boss’ lover. He suggestively says “First the lover, then the wife?” Tariq gets very defensive, but ends up defenseless when Tufan convinces him that he has more to lose if he opens his mouth.

Zeynep and Osan wait for Fehime as she comes up the road. Zeynep hugs her and they both start to cry. They miss each other, but Fehime’s pride is too much: she tells her daughter to step out of her way, she made her choice now she must live happy with her new family.

Nihan has a memory from five years prior. She’s sitting next to Kemal in an office and she asks him “How crazy are you?” She notices that he looks very nervous and lets him know that. He tells her to focus on her magazine instead, but she counters that he’s boring. She keeps talking to Kemal and starts talking too loud and making a small scene. Kemal is so focused on the people around him noticing them, but Nihan claims she doesn’t care at all. As soon as Kemal is called into the office she kisses him and wishes him good luck. Soon he comes out from the interview and hears Nihan singing to him from the vegetable stand outside. She proclaims her love for him. He’s embarrassed but entertained at the same time.
 

Back in reality, Nihan cries a bit. Leyla comforts her. Nihan says that Kemal views her as a sin, and that’s why he rejected her after the rescue kiss. Leyla tells her otherwise. She tells her as much as she wishes to see her niece and Kemal together, she is still married to Emir and doesn’t believe that he will ever leave them alone to be happy. Fehime knocks on the door. She demands to know what Nihan is doing at Kemal’s home. She takes the opportunity to tell her that since Kemal will marry Asu, she needs to leave the Soydere family alone. Nihan leaves, heartbroken. Leyla knows it’s a lie.

Emir is with Banu. He tells her his next plan for her (we weren’t privy to that information). Banu gets a little distressed and says she doesn’t want to do it. Emir tells her to come close and sit next to him, which she resisted at first but he told her not to make him repeat himself again. She does as told. Emir knows she’s in love with Tariq, but she refuses to admit it. To prove it, she starts making out with the ETERNO face.

Tariq is driving to Banu’s home. Emir saw him from the driveway and when Tariq enters the home he sees Emir on the couch with Banu asking him whether he wanted something to drink. Emir takes the opportunity to ask him if he’s in love with Banu. He admits it, but not before letting Emir know that he knows Banu is not his lover anymore. Soon Emir exits and Tariq follows him down the steps to tell him that Nihan spoke to him earlier. Emir brushes that off and tells him that he’s the only one he can trust. No one else.

Fehime continues her conversation with Leyla. She wants Nihan to be put into her place once and for all. She believes Kemal is in danger for being in love with Emir’s life. She tells Leyla to choose between Kemal and Nihan. Leyla responds that she can’t because Kemal is like her son, but Nihan is her niece. She reveals herself as Vildan’s sister. Fehime gets indignant and asks her why did she withhold that information, and why did she set Kemal up with Nihan. Leyla tries to clarify what really happened, but Fehime becomes too holier than thou and claims she should be ashamed of herself for hiding this secret. She leaves in a huff.

Kemal is speaking with Hakim and Asu at their home. Kemal tries to convince him to go to the hospital, but he refuses to go: it would be inconvenient for Asu. Hakim takes the opportunity to tell Kemal again that he would like for them both to get married, as it would be the only way he would know that Asu is taken cared of once he passes. Kemal looks as if he’s going to succumb to the pressure.

Nihan is at her studio with Yasemin. They discuss Emir’s aggressive behavior.

Asu and Kemal are speaking outside the home, and Nihan is watching from a distance. Asu cries and hugs Kemal, says she’s afraid of her uncle passing away. Kemal offers her some words of encouragement and tells her to accomplish her goals and not succumb to her sadness. Asu takes it as an opportunity to kiss him. Kemal is taken aback, and Nihan drives away immediately. Kemal tells Asu to not do it ever again, but Asu tells him that he just told her to do what she needs and wants to do. She declares her love for Kemal again, despite acknowledging that he’s told her that she’s only his best friend. Kemal asks her if he’s ever given her any hope; Asu says he’s her only hope and path in life.

What exactly is Leyla to Kemal? I completely missed that but I think she’s his godmother?

Asu and her uncle are getting manipulative. It almost seems like they have a hidden agenda.

Tariq and Emir are just gross. Banu is a victim, but she’s still playing into her boss’ hands too.

The most irritating person today on this show has to be Fehime.

Yes I totally agree, Fehime is the most annoying person on The show. Can

Some of Wednesday’s episode:

Emir is talking to Leyla regarding the shareholders meeting. He warns her that she doesn’t own sufficient shares to stop the Kozcouglu vote entirely. Leyla is unfazed and is confident she will soon own more shares. As a blow, Emir reveals to her that Galip was the one who bought the house for Vildan. Leyla gets uneasy and realizes it will be harder to recover her home.

Zeynep approaches the living room and finds the servant serving coffee to Onder. She tells her she would like a coffee too, with sugar. The servant looks at her as if she’s beneath her too, but goes as told. Zeynep tells Onder that Ozan told her the truth regarding Nihan’s marriage. Onder gets uneasy and tells her not to tell anyone. Zeynep can barely hide that she hit a goldmine. She promises not to tell anyone.

Kemal approaches Nihan, who’s standing by a well in the dark. He tells her he wanted to write a poem for her, but she never knew that he was a poet. They talk about their relationship, which Kemal admits he doesn’t regret. Nihan asks if he would kiss her again, but he says that last kiss was a mistake. Both have a flashback.

Nihan says her goodbyes and slowly walks away. “This time, it’s forever” Kemal whispers.

Kemal is speaking to Banu, asking questions about Tariq’s demeanor the night of Karen’s murder. Banu affirms there is something she will show him. She pulls out a green bag from her closet and presents it to him. Kemal finds a lilac shirt that looks bloodstained. He tells Banu not to tell Tariq anything and leaves. Once alone, Banu calls Emir to tell him she gave Kemal the package. Emir is satisfied that he has both brothers’ fates in his hands.

Kemal was resting in his car the next day and Zehir brings coffee. Kemal feels defeated. He gives Zehir the blood stained shirt and tells him Tariq murdered Karen. Zehir shows Kemal footage of Tariq leaving his vehicle in a car the night of the murder, when he went over to Banu’s home. Kemal still doesn’t want to accept that his brother did it. Zehir suggests that Kemal ask Tariq what happened, and warns him that things would get very complicated if Tariq admits guilt. “Would you hand over your brother to justice?” He asks.

Leyla enters Galip’s office without permission. She tells him she knows he helped Vildan take her home. She informs him that she owns 15% of the shares and warns that she will take Vildan’s shares as well, as retribution for breaking the contract by taking her home. Those shares also amount to 15%. Galip tries to tell her that he’s on her side, and he’s sure she will buy the house from him. Leyla acknowledges him as an enemy, but Galip claims that ultimately depends on her. She tries to leave as fast and angry as she can, but Galip tries his best to be a gentleman and opens the door for her first.

Zeynep enters Emir’s room and locks it. He tells her he’s aware that she’s snooping around everyone’s rooms. Zeynep tells him she knows that he has Nihan’s family eating from the palm of his hand. She knows that he forced Nihan to marry him.

I hope Leyla does get Vildan’s shares and becomes a threat to the Kozcouglu’s. If Onder votes like her, she’ll be at an advantage. Can’t believe she let Vildan manage her shares for so long.

Hakim and Asu definitely need to realize they can’t force things between her and Kemal. The worst part is that they know he’s in love with Nihan, but don’t care at all.

Zeynep is annoying slinking around the Sezin home. She’s just as useless as Ozan, but I guess she’s Vildan’s punishment.
