chola Natalia is dressed and with Ivan they hit the town to shake some trees.

Sofia is the nanny who is taking care of Nanita and Titica, "you'll be like sisters".

Zoraya is left alone with Alf to tell her story, at first his broken heart plays hardball about believing her but I think he eventually softens, it's easy to see her love for him but does she tell about her son.

Hand is now on the dark web courtesy of Santos' hacker, who expects money up front.

Liset has a heart to heart with Hilda, who has filled the gap of her mother dying, Hilda treats her like a daughter (will she change her name to catalina)

Leticia is out of work with Sal's factory being repaired, hey, maybe she can get a job with Hilda?

and Leticia is at Hilda's door, wow.

Titi touches bases with Cardonita, he's collecting an old debt.

Lucrecia, CG, and Vane discuss Natalia, they have complete trust in her, CG trusts all of her agents (is this what is keeping Lucrecia tight lipped)

agent Jaime, following up on a list of names found on a hard drive from the Cardonita raid stumbles upon him in Bogota, calls Rafa, who relays to Jefa Val.

the lab boss wants to change plans, Cardonita balks but falls for the so you need Titi's ok to do everything.

Cuina's fighters are now fighting like men, they got it, she is worried this new deal on xy4 will expose her to the law, in which case they too will be fresh meat for king.

Hilda's talk with Liset has renewed her, she will reopen her home shop, Leticia your hired, oh and Hilda spills on her kids that she has, had, and are missing, and grandkids, Leticia spills on her daughter, just a face now with another body and soul, are you sure Hilda asks.

Rog got a tip on Hand's girl, he and Dan follow up.

Leticia adds to Hilda, DEA, Valeria, hmm.

apparently there was a fire at this asylum, only this girl and another survived, and all the records were lost, Dan and Rog are posing as her possible cousins, (but hey, hoody Dan with the plastic face fits right in, how is it anyone can take this guy seriously)

Alf calls CG and all back, news flash on tv, Liset is staging a protest naming Conde as a woman abuser, and naming Dayana as the madame, Day draws down on Mari and Moncho, putting them on their knees.

Jaime's intel is good, blue pills being shipped as candy, Val relays to CG in Bogota, she's on it, shorthanded though.

Val threatens Rafa and Francisco, find Nat and Ivan Calvo (what? how does she know his name, does she connect on it)

Dan is being unscary (is that possible) and doesn't take her baby (doll) but gets a name from Emilia Vallejo, she didn't want the life, but she loved him, he lied to her, black hand? nope, fino, nope, Aaron, Aaron Mondego.

How many times has Zoraya said “I can’t do this.”? I really dislike this character; I just can’t feel sorry for her.

Why did Cardonita say he had to ask Titi first? I thought they wanted everyone to think Titi is dead. So it won’t be long before Titi is outed to the world.

If Catagrande is in charge of the raid on Cardonita’s shipment, is there a chance that the XY4 will safely make it to Cuina?

Fresh meat for the king? Does Cuina have a pet lion or something?

I’m glad CataG and Vane met with Lucrecia but I wish Lu would have said more about Valeria. Specifically, how she caught her alone in the dressing room. At least she said it’s possible Natalia is being set up.

How does Dayana blame Mari and Moncho for any of this? Is this the end of Quique and Manotas for botching the hit job?

How did Agent Jaime get pics inside the XY4 lab?

Yes, deb, how does Valeria (and now everyone else) know Ivan’s last name is Calvo when this is supposed to be top secret. CataG runs a shoddy operation; can it get any worse?

I don’t know if there are any posters or lurkers who are watching this but I thought I would tune into the first night to see where this might be heading. I half watched the past few seasons just to see who made it through, who died and/or who came back to life. I’ll probably half watch again. I might comment occasionally but won’t do any consistent recapping.

Gran estreno highlights:

Looks like “El Señor de los Cielos” could take on a new meaning this season with the shocker of the night: Aurelio Casillas is dead?!? It would seem so. Laura and her mentor try a very risky procedure to bring Aurelio out of his coma. Doña Alba has given permission. The Casillas Family Crew is watching from a remote location. At first it looks good, his eyes are open, we get flashes of things that happened to Aurelio throughout the years. Then he has a seizure, he’s dying! They try everything, CPR, defibrillator and nothing works! Doña Alba closes his eyes and covers him up. The family is devastated. Alba wants him buried at Los Mochis. Laura will prepare him for the burial.

The devastated Casillas Crew, still allied with Chema against the Colombians, continue with their plan to jail break Amado. It will coincide with the 1-year celebration of the Gomez Labrador presidency. Amado is being held at the Mexican Defense Department in some weird, solid see through cage in the middle of the room. He’s about to get extradited to the US, against his conditions for turning himself in and he’s being transferred.

Valdes is welcoming the presidents from the “Axis of Evil” but I’m not sure who they are and what countries they are from. I think everyone’s in Mexico for the Gomez Labrador celebration. Some are worried about protests. Someone brings up the caravan of immigrants. Rumors are out that the “Axis of Evil” have organized the caravan, nevertheless, they will continue to sneak Hezbollah members into the caravan. We see a caravan mom with 2 young children forced to take on a “husband”.

Ojeda is watching a news report about the caravan. He rips on Labrador and the corn-husk head neighbor to the north. I’ve noticed that for the past couple of years, the 10 o’clock shows have managed to insert thinly veiled political commentary here and there.

In the Dominican Republic, we see someone bathing, shaving, dressing. We see Evelina looking at a passport for Pio Jose Valdivia. Then we see Milton Jimenez aka El Cabo, shhh…don’t call him that anymore, stepping out looking like Al Capone. Gone are the track suit, hat and signature bigote! He’s going to pass himself off as Pio, an attorney, businessman and man of class. Apparently someone died and he’s taking their identity. The deceased was an assistant to a hot shot lawyer who specializes in getting drug traffickers out of jail in Colombia and Mexico.

Jailbreak: a mole is planted in the security detail. Explosives are planted all around the city and at celebration sites. They will make it look like attacks from the right. The time has come, the explosions take place. Chaos reigns and after car chases and gunfights, Amado is extracted. The getaway will be tricky. Many of the Crew are trapped. While making a getaway in an ambulance, Rutila is shot by Ojeda and she crashes and overturns.

We see Aurelio laid out on a bed, finely dressed. Laura says with the formalin, he should hold out until the burial. The AC is turned to the coldest setting. Before they leave the room Alba has something to say: she’s going to be strong and stop Aurelio’s children and grandchildren from continuing in the business. If they want to stay in the business, they will have to kill her.

And that’s how episode 1 ends.

Dondi356: I see they're doing the Axis of Evil shtick with Corrupt Presidents OMG. Let me guess: they're going to have someone based on POTUS Trump & Korean President Moon Jae-in ?

1.) Aurelio died ? WTH ?

2.) I'm surprised that Alba told Aurelio's kids & grandkids to kill her if they want to continue in the drug trafficking biz. Let's see if they whack her....

3.) I KNEW I recognized Don Jackass (who portrays Ojeda in "ESDLC") from "Sin Tu Mirada".

4.) I'm assuming BPN is enjoying the wealthy lifestyle in France or Spain, where he fled to.

5.) Let's see if Gomez Labrador can handle the Presidency since BPN's political whipping boy Jaime Ernesto Rosales will be plotting to become President in a few years.

there must be an interesting story behind Rafael Amaya not returning to play Aurelio Casillas but they sure have covered it up well allowing for the story to continue.

Thanks, deb. There’s not been much info on Amaya. He’s been MIA for a while. As far as I can tell he hasn’t done any promotion for the show. Maybe he just got tired after so many years and decided to move on? I would have thought Telemundo would make him and offer he could not refuse.

Not surprisingly, there’s a big backlash on social media regarding Aurelio’s death. Without him, Telemundo will lose viewers. Hey, they haven’t buried or cremated him yet, but it doesn’t look good right now.

I must say I've always liked Cabo, especially when he was paired with Tijeras (waiting for his return). I was glad Cabo returned but then they had him kill Monica and Felina—they were two of the best characters (and actors) in the history of the show. Once again, we can’t be sure if they are really dead. The last we saw them, they were on the floor and that was it. They were mentioned a few times last season and that gave me some hope for a return.

We shall see.

Emilia has calmed down and begins to talk with plastic face Dan and Rogelio, Aaron (the Hand) deceived her, after he was planted in high society, was he giving her a drug to take away her will, he brought numerous papers to her to sign, and there was a baby, not hers, that she cared for enough to love, and when he got what he wanted, he locked her up and took away the baby, and the fire destroyed all the records, her identity, probably why no one looked for her, Dan and Rog will help her.

looks like the tide is turning for Alf, says his staff.

Conde is on the way to put out the fire, but wait, did he just stop and pick up a young girl, is her head in his lap?

Dayana knows the Hand, that's why she drew down on Mari and Moncho, to get away, but they are on it, oops they ran over a cop at a checkpoint, bump, bump, not to worry Mari tells the Hand, we'll take care of the body.

Liset's demonstration is going full riot, the army is moving in, the Colonel asks them to stop, did they hear him?, he calls the General, no answer, psss, tear gas, the girls pull off their shirts to cover their noses, what?

Hilda and Leticia bond and as she is leaving, the PI is at the door, hey, maybe he can help with your daughter, cost?, no, Sal's paying for it.

the OG (old guard as everyone calls them) have gotten fresh supplies so they can ramp up production, does Moron have eyes for Pilar, he gets Titi alone and suggests he spend a night with CataG, what?

and later on he suggests they get into the cage fighting game.

Sal seems to have remembered some things of the night with Jo, she helped him into bed and... he wished/thought it was Hilda, and... he gets all huffy about it, this should never have happened, she shuts him down quick, bag packed, I gave myself to you and it meant nothing, he follows her to the waiting cab, but where will you go?

that's right, Jo is heading to the warehouse where she has Mateo chained up in a dress.

Hand is stressed over Dayana but Santos is all smiles, they have their domain on the dark web, they can broadcast the fights on the web, collect bets, give them what they want, gladiators and death (ah yes snuff videos they used to be called)

Al rides Calvo, asks about his son, do you love him, in my own way he says, what if he had my disease, Calvo says he has worse, he's infected with anger, resentment.

Ivan and chola nerd Natalia hit the hottest club, he's confronted, but barks he's Calvo's son, Nat wants to leave, Ivan says to dance, wait and see what happens, and the dude sends a video of them to Calvo, you know me, the moto guy that delivered the grenade.

Jota's handler tells him he is moving to a new level, his fights will be seen in china.

the death fight Hand wants to see is Dayana begging for her life.

Dayana hides in a park behind the only tree, smaller than she is, bing, what if I give myself up to CataG, tell her about Val, yea, that's the ticket.

CG's crew moves on Cardonita, NOW he calls Titi, it's hopeless, (hey, they are loading the plane, seems like they can just hop on), but it'll be hot lead for CG.

1.) Bolivian President Evo Morales (the Morales look-alike was a dead giveaway).

2.) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro & his wife (I was like C'mon. So obvious).

3.) Guessing Valdes is the new Cuban President ?

Thanks, Steve, for identifying the Axis of Evil members. I figured Nicodemes was Venezuelan but the others I had no clue. I don’t think Valdes is the Cuban prez but he’s very high up in the chain of command.

Some highlights from #2:

Aurelio Casillas is still dead.

More car chases and gunfights later and the mission to free Amado is unsuccessful. He’s recaptured by Castillo, who has saved him from getting killed by Ojeda. Navarro still wants Amado in the US. He offers Amado a deal—where’s Aurelio Casillas?

Pio explains his plans to his new hot shot law partner, Joaquin. He wants to find the hacker that betrayed him and get this hacker to work for him. Next, he wants to go after Super Javi. Joaquin knows him—he’s a distant relative of sorts and he’s gotten some hometown girls pregnant. On Pio’s orders, Joaquin locates a daughter Javi does not know about. Samario pays a visit to the mother and daughter—says, let Javi know.

We see the caravan mom again. She is complaining to an organizer that her kids are not doing well and her “husband” is no help. She feels used. We find out she is from Venezuela and this trip was a deal she made with this person/group.

The Casillas Crew managed to escape back to base. Rutila was grazed in the arm but she also has injuries from the crash. She’s not doing well.

Casillas Crew argue amongst themselves about next steps to rescue Amado. Ismael says how about we rescue him once he’s in the US? Sounds like a plan. Chema is out. Red is staying. Ambar & Isturiz are leaving with Chema but she wants to attend Aurelio’s funeral.

Greñas finds out they are taking Amado to Texas. Ismael & Diana will go to Alba in Otay, CA first and then on to Texas.

Alba is still dealing with Aurelio’s death and lamenting the state of her family. She tells Laura, is this the life you want for your unborn child? Ismael and Diana show up in CA. Alba tries to talk him out of seeking revenge, stop fighting this war, forget about this business. He can’t and he won’t. Alba always talks big but ultimately, she’s overmatched and overruled by her narco family.

Colon is still alive. I thought he was shot in the head, dead. He can’t talk and writes on a tablet. Corina is going to get better medical help for him in the US.

Uzcategui and Castillo do a post mortem on the Labrador celebration and Amado escape attempt. She comes on to him and he looks nervous! Not sure if he will take her up on her offer.

Berenice is with Jaime Rosales. Her mom arrives. Jaime asks Berenice to marry him; she says yes!

Joe Navarro pays a visit to Amado in detention. He asks if he’s thought about the deal. Amado warns him he will tell all and Joe might not like it. Joe says that’s fine with him, he’s tired of corruption. Amado says ok, but leave Corina out of this. Clear her and he’ll talk.

Casillas Crew are in Texas minus Ruti and Javi to start their mission to get Amado. They meet up with some veteran friends of Corina and get guns. Amado is traveling in a DEA convoy. The Crew have set up a roadside explosive and are lying in wait with guns. Corina is piloting a helicopter with Ismael along for the ride. Is everybody ready?

Conde is trying to call in favors to put out those fires. He mentions contacting a general he helped. Maybe that’s the same one that won’t help Granados. Conde calls the slimy AG but he can’t help. His advice is to leave the public eye and find a good lawyer. They talk about Granados. Conde wants him out of the way at a police station in a corner of Colombia. Uh, oh.

Is Sal still going to pay for the PI?

Moron saying to Titi, find Catagrande, was a real head scratcher. Titi’s not staying dead for long.

Jota could easily knock out his handler and escape. I noticed he’s not stuttering since the fight.

Jo is just as evil as Diabla & Dayana.

Dondi356: I noticed that Jaime (BPN 2.0) has proposed to Berenice, who accepted the marriage proposal. I'm going to assume he's still the Governor of one of the Mexican States that he was elected to last Season.

If I recall, Daddy Rosales (who took over the Presidency when BPN was removed from office during the military coup last Season) is pushing to have his son become President of Mexico down the road, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see Jaime becoming President in a time-jump.

Like you, I'm surprised that Colon is still alive (although he no longer is able to talk due to getting shot in the head), nice to see that Corina has some instance of caring about him.

Plus, I'm still trying to figure out who shot Colon ?

CG mops up at the warehouse, killing Cardonita's guys, losing one of her own, Cardonita taunts her, you spread your legs for my dad, she shoots him in the arm, he drops his phone but gets away, Cata finds the drugs.

Moron can see Titi doesn't want CG hurt, Pilar too, she nags him, Moron warns of Cuina's wrath.

Dan and Rog video Emilia's confession, ask about her release, they'll a need dna test to prove they are cousins.

the Colonel frees Liset and all the girls from jail, he'll file a formal protest.

Titi and Pilar make up, with some sexual favors.

Mari is hunting Dayana, they are at the cemetery, she asks Moncho, Conde is a politico, he'll spill, do you want to go down with the ship or jump, he's ok with jumping, but can they do it in the cemetery?

Dayana is watching the DEA building as Val comes outside to take a call from Alf, he wants her to come to Bogota, as his wife (did she gag)

Jo visits Mateo who is upset, she loads up on the lipstick then smears it along her cheeks, meet the real Jo she says.

the PI has identified the van used to kidnap CM and Nachi, it was used in illegal arms deals and has a tracker on it, he may be able to locate it.

Nachi makes a break for it, knocking out their keeper but turning his back on him, (we all know how that story goes)

press awaits Conde at the AG office, he shows and turns himself in for his crimes against minors, no longer a candidate but while he's there he spills on NWO (new world order) who financed his campaign and did the bombing and drugged Alf.

Hand moves to plan Phoenix, Santos loves it, whatever it is, but Val stays, they may have lost Conde but they still might have a president.

Liset is back at work, Val tells CG she thinks she is a mole (like everyone in the DEA)

CG asks Val about Nat, she replies nada, Rafa and Francisco are a mess, CG says I'm the one to decide that.

OG (old guard) arrives at Cuina's, she'll only talk business with Pilar, as the others are ushered out a mean dog barks, Cuina says he likes fresh meat like me, insatiable, as her eyes and hands are on Pilar, tell me about CG, an enemy, then she is my enemy as well, she swears it on Pilar's breasts.

Calvo looks up Ivan and his novia Yurani (Nat), I hear you want to get into the business, he sets them up in a hotel, wait to hear from me, I'll talk to the boss.

the PI has found the van, Marcela has gotten a search warrant, he's on it, she and Hilda will just have to wait.

Cuina wants to hear all about CG, Pilar says she won't stop till she gets what she wants, tough eh?, Cuina likes to make girls like her moan, err... suffer.

the AG holds a press conference, Conde will get 40+ years in a jail where he will be safe, but there's more, Dan announces the article coming out in a couple of hours detailing the Hand's criminal history, courtesy of Emilia, the Hand is dazed.

Shadow, Zoraya, and Santi watch, they don't think Hand will pay enough for all that he has done, Shadow has a plan.

Rogelio collects Emilia at the Asylum, the doctora knows all, you are free to go.

Hand, Santos with drug lab and crew, Moncho and Mari, all board Air Force One errr... Black Hand One, they will be in the air for months, Moncho isn't liking this, the big guy didn't give us wings, he gave us feet.

Rafa and Francisco bring in CG's secret informant, it's Dayana, who wants the whole crew together to finish her confession, she looks at Val and smiles....

Deb, CataM mentioned a miscarriage and Lucia told Dan after her rescue that she lost the baby (stillbirth caused by Martin recapturing her?--and wasn't Martin planning to eat it?). Why is Dan still playing Phantom of the Opera after the apartment fire?

I'm wondering about why Carlos left Hilda again after her rescue and hospitality, and how Jota and Paula reported Laura's death.

Also, didn't Marcial leave millions in properties and hotel businesses to Hilda? Hilda could have opened her own fashion empire! And what happened to her modern white mansion with the curving front double staircases from Diabla (which also appears in El Clon currently rerunning at 6 am)?

Halimacandy, I don't remember CataG being told in the original series that she had HIV, but my English captions were garbled.

Big question is how far will Jaime go in preventing Berenice & her Mommy from knowing his dirty little secrets.

I should clarify something I mentioned in a previous post. I don’t know if Corina was in the US military but she knew these guys and they were combat trained/tested in Afghanistan, Syria and Africa.

Episode highlights:

That was some crazy rescue. Ismael dropped from a helicopter to blowtorch open the van carrying Amado. Then Corina hoists them both back up. Ismael is shot. Amado is shot. But both will be ok.

Ojeda visits Colon to get Corina’s whereabouts. Colon is not talking—literally and figuratively.

Javi gets a call from cousin Alejandra—you have a daughter and it is time you met her. Alejandra and daughter Angela leave for Mexico. Pio is keeping track of them every step of the way.

Castillo and Uzcategui wake up in bed together. This was only recreational sex. She has to keep reminding him of this throughout the episode. She also mentions finding Mayra.

Ambar and Chema have pillow talk. He’s jealous of Ambar’s memories of Aurelio. She asks if he’s’ still hung up on Rutila.

Ruti and Alba speak. Alba is taking the kids back to Mexico with her.

Fidencio, the caravan organizer, meets with Valdes for an update. The woman chosen to help us is a complainer and the Hezbollah guy isn’t helping matters either. Valdes says make it work, we must continue sneaking terrorists into the US to keep our Hezbollah friends happy.

Thanks, deb, for the quote from People in Español. Sounds like his character is really dead. This surprised me. I still have fond feelings about Amaya from El Güero Davila in Reina 1. And I did watch and mostly enjoy the first season of this novela, but I bailed halfway through Season 2.
 

Sin Senos 4 & General

Deb, thanks for your kind words! Love your recaps! I also have TV reception problems and my blurry vision misses many captions. Watching takes a lot of concentration and I'm picky about story lines. The original Sin Senos really hooked me in, especially with its shocking end.

When I learned the real Cata was still alive, got the real pregnant Yesica and Marcial arrested, and was living unhappily with a new narco, I hoped Gustavo Bolivar would resurrect Cata for a "happier" sequel. Although my wish came true, the time jumps and dropped story lines are disconcerting. I keep rewriting the sequels in my head. NBC should make an English version with the same cast but an alternate second chapter. We could all go to town writing our own competing dream second chapters for Cata and her frenemies.

In my streamlined chapter 2, Hilda launches her own contrite-now-in-prison Marcial-financed Victoria's Secret lingerie line and hires Pelambre as her factory security chief while raising Cata M. Albiero earns his live-in keep as Hilda's factory manager. Recovered, now-blonde Cata G keeps a low profile in Bogota as a hospital patient makeover artist, TV fashion intern, and occasional DEA undercover snitch while raising her toddlers with Santi. Hilda discovers her by chance in Bogota after just a few years. Daniel becomes famous by reporting on Cata G's miraculous second life.

Cata G's renewed fame turns her into a Kardashian style and self-help queen now promoting Hilda's fashion house. Yesica leaves a Bogota jail with toddler Dani and stolen ownership of only one of Marcial's businesses--a nightclub that she exploits for sex and drug trafficking. Pelambre convinces Cata G to visit Marcial in prison. Marcial is released after a few years and becomes a philanthropist. He and Pelambre marry two of Hilda's employees. Titi is also released, but when Cata G refuses to leave Santi, he joins Yesica's "nightclub" business. Jealous Yesica and Dani plot revenge against Hilda and the two Catas with Santi's ex-wife Zoraya, Carlos's ex-wife astrologer Abby and misfit daughter Laura. Titi must decide whether to foil any of Yesica's plots against Cata G.

This alternate version eliminates time jump inconsistencies and improbable subplots while keeping alive my favorite other killed-off characters.

I wish Telemundo would make sequels to a few other popular stand-alone telenovelas.

I too loved "Sin senos no hay paraíso", that is up till they extended it using Jota as filler, 238 chapters was too many.

have you ever seen the original, "Sin tetas no hay paraíso", it's only 23 episodes.

actually though I really enjoyed "Sin senos sí hay paraíso", CataM and Nachi as innocent kids taking on the narco world, good music too.

my thoughts on the 3rd chapter would have been the next generation carrying on.

btw if you have good internet, the videos at telemundo.com are really good, good captions and easy going back and forth or just finding a scene you want to rewatch.

they are often posted a couple of hours after the west coast showing.

Thanks, deb, for another great recap and for the People en Español info. I’m glad they are leaving the door open for Rafael Amaya. Some exciting revelations--with more to come? We were left with one heck of a cliffhanger on a Wednesday night.

Thank you, MCM, for your comments, recollections and rewrites. And I think we all have rewrite fantasies from time to time. There must be fan fiction sites for telenovelas.

I remembered CataM’s situation. But I totally missed what happened to Lucia’s & Daniel’s baby. Then that’s the second child they’ve lost, IIRC.

I don’t remember too much about the inheritance from Marcial. I think it was all regarded as blood money and they wanted no part. I seem to remember that no one was thrilled about living in the house that was Diabla’s either. Hilda wanted to go back to her own home. There have been references to some money that’s been stashed away. That might have been some of the spoils Nachi got his hands on.

That phoenix plan is something else. Are they really going to fly around for months without landing and without being noticed? And there’s a drug lab on the plane? Good grief.

Very interested to see what Calvo Sr. will do when he finds out Junior is working for the DEA against him and his patrona.

ah yes, Diabla's mansion, Albeiro used to hang out there with CataM and Nachi since Mari blew up his house but then they went to Bogota, the odd thing is Albeiro really hasn't had a place to live for years now, does he even have a change of clothes, he just goes where the story takes him.
