I'll do a short recap of tonight's episode.
 

Sin-Senos4 #43

Marcela and Hilda bond over a meal and some wine, Gabriel and Sandra were needed at another office, business first, you (Hilda) trusted Sal and Jo and they didn't cover your back, and Marce can't emphasis enough that Hilda should not talk to Sal because it would jeopardize the case.

I don't think Jo got her kiss, Sal is back, maybe at another time he says, but now he loves Hilda, Jo calls her a simple woman, that's what Sal likes, and she plants a seed, maybe Al and Hilda are working together.

Jota is waiting as Vane's taxi arrives, they head off to meet the kidnappers, it doesn't work out so well, they conk Vane and kidnap Jota.

(I wonder if nanita and titica will form their own cartel)

woman to woman, Marce spills on Al, he's after Diabla, Hilda spills on how he was Diabla's slave, hence albeirito.

as Al showers Calvo drips some xy5 into his water bottle, prepping for the fight Al gulps it down.

the Colonel tells CG about finding Vane on the street and taking her home, CG is on it.

Dan and Rog are with CG at Vane's, she spills, CG understands because she is a mother too, Dan makes a call to Shadow, but Santi calls Vane first looking for Jota, CG suggests a meet.

Al meets his opponent, it's Jota (I guess Santos got his samples and is done with him but why is this good for Hand, either one could win)

Al swears to Leandro (his trainer) he won't fight someone he loves as the XY5 spinach is kicking in and his face goes all popeye without the pipe, but Leandro says if he leaves the ring he will die, and so will Leandro, Diabla calls with orders, or else I shoot Jota.

our strange alliance group meets (strange indeed by looks only), DEA, reporters, hardened criminals, and fugitives, CG asks why Hand doesn't kill his enemies, she doesn't get the part where he likes to see them suffer, Zoraya for example.

Hilda is no sooner out of the cab at home and Sal is on her, he loves her, they kiss...poof...she wishes, and walks into the old house alone, are those sounds of CM playing with her Papi echoing in her memories?

Sal on the other hand has moved on to the hard stuff, is that a text on his phone from Hilda demanding an explanation, he gives her one smashing the phone, Jo slow dances into the room in her scant wear, fixes him another drink with a little powder additive (could it be xy5 I doubt) and helps him to bed.

Shadow reminds CG that what they plan to do will not be legal, even Zoraya claims they must kill the Hand, or with his money he will kill them all, CG makes a case for justice, is anyone listening?

Xy4 is ready to ship, but the Mexican narco (or would it be narca) is being tough on price, confident Pilar makes the call, didn't catch her name but she has talked to Moncho, hmm.

the woman in the asylum, not sure if this is from the article Rog dug up or someone's memory, but she was Hands stepping stone to high society and politicos, our guys decide to find her and discover Hand's true name.

part 2 is to connect Zoraya with Alf who is currently not accessible, CG shortcuts it by calling Lucrecia, I want to talk to him, life or death.

and yes, Popeye and the Hulk have been going at it all this time, Al is fighting Titi and Jota is just being crazy, Leandro asks Calvo what he gave them, and as done as these guys are, it starts all over again, but wait, the Ref who has been standing there the whole time stops the fight, what?

Mónica tells Laura about Daniel's being hired to kill her. She doesn't know who hired him. Laura asks whether she thinks it may have been Alex. Mónica looks as if that's possible.

We see Alex in a cell. He has written a note to Eli telling her that in a few years she will understand everything he is doing. He's doing it for her. He tells her he loves her and asks her to forgive him for the long trip he's about to take. He then removes a plastic dental apparatus covering his upper teeth. He has apparently hidden pills inside the apparatus.

Humberto looks again at the photos and clippings of the murder that occurred 20 years ago.

Daniel meets up with a friend in Mexico. I think the guy is a cop.

Mónica has called Pete, the DEA guy who helped arrange her move to Madrid under a new identity. He's not pleased to hear from her. She wants him to help her. He reluctantly says he'll help, but he warns her not to meet with anyone she knew before she left for Spain.

Some police guy comes in and finds Alex unconscious on the floor. The guy also sees a pill. He calls for an ambulance. The attendant in the ambulance asks Alex what he took. Alex just says "I'm sorry." He then overcomes the policeman accompanying him in the ambulance and gives him some kind of injection. He then orders the attendant to take off his clothes and do what Alex says. When the ambulance arrives, Alex is dressed in the cop's uniform. The patient is wheeled into the hospital, accompanied by the attendant and Alex. Alex and the attendant disappear. Others accompanying the guy on the stretcher realize that two of the people have suddenly disappeared. They then look at the person on the stretcher and realize he's not Alex.

El Comisario (I don't recall his name) is very upset about Alex's escape. "We're going to be laughingstocks," he tells Velasco and Laura. The two of them leave the boss's office, and Velasco asks Laura whether she helped Alex escape. She tells him to go to hell.

Daniel, his policeman friend, and Mónica find out that the shipment from Morocco containing Mónica was sent to Carlos de la Cruz, an important businessman. They decide to pay de la Cruz a surprise visit. De la Cruz is very polished and smooth. "How can I be of help?" he asks. They explain that a container carrying Mónica's kidnapped daughter was shipped to de la Cruz's company. He points out that they process hundreds of shipments each day. They want to search the shipments. "Of course," he says, "just show me your warrant." "Oh, so you don't want to help" says Daniel's friend. He explains that the police could get a warrant and go through every single carton, every single piece of paper...it would be very inconvenient for the company. This interchange is interrupted by a phone call to de la Cruz. Soon afterward, Diego enters the office, looking just as thuggy as ever. He tells de la Cruz he needs to see him. Daniel says that's OK, we were just leaving. Mónica asks yet again, where is my daughter? As they leave, she yells out "Natalia, Natalia." Diego tries to block her way. They go to a truck carrying a shipment. Mónica wants to examine it. De la Cruz comes out, reluctantly orders the truck to be unlocked. Mónica climbs up into the truck, calling her daugher's name over and over. It's clear that she's not there. De la Cruz tells them, "Next time, come with a warrant. Or, better still, don't come back."

Once Daniel, Mónica, and Daniel's friend have left, de la Cruz asks Diego, "Where are you keeping her?" Diego replies, "In your car, boss. Otherwise, they'd have found her." "Good work," says de la Cruz.

Daniel's friend (whose name I don't know) gives Daniel a gun. He tells him it's clean, but it would be best if he didn't use it.

Eli wakes up at Humberto's. He suggests she stay at his place until things have calmed down. Journalists will be hounding her if she goes home. She agrees and thanks him.

Mónica and Daniel come to her house. I didn't recognize it at first because it looks a lot better than when Natalia and Hugo arrived just a day earlier. Mónica looks at an album of photos of Natalia. She tells Daniel she doesn't know how to thank him. He says No, he's the one who's grateful to her. They move closer. Closer. They kiss. Suddenly, Daniel takes out his gun. He points to a bloody rag on the floor. They move quietly through the house until they come upon Hugo sitting on the floor, propped up against the wall. "You're Natalia's mother, right?" he says. "I'm your daughter's friend. I helped her escape. She took the bullet out of my leg. She told me her mother is a doctor and taught her how to treat wounds." Mónica examines the wound and says it's infected.

Meanwhile, at Humberto's, Eli suddenly embraces him. He freezes, as if he's practicing to be a statue. She asks him what the file is that he's always looking at. Viewerville could have told her that it contains the photos and clippings of the Polanco murder. He tells her it's nothing, just personal. He doens't let her see it.

Hugo tells Mónica that Natalia left the day before. She said the first thing she was going to do was call her mother. If she hasn't called, they've got her. Who is "they"? asks Daniel. Hugo responds, "De la Cruz." Mónica wants to go to the police. Hugo tells her there's no point, de la Cruz has bribed everyone. Hugo then tells them that he knows someone who knows where Natalia is and where they're going to take her. He guides them to where they'll find Diego. They first see him with his wife. When he leaves his wife, Daniel goes after him.

The scene shifts to a dark street at night. A car drives up and parks, Laura gets out and goes into her house. Another car comes down the street and parks in back of hers. Inside the house, we see Alex. Laura has apparently let him stay there. He's upset. He can't find Eli. Laura suggests calling Humberto. Alex asks her why she's helping him. She responds that if, as she believes, he's innocent, then the murderer is still out there. Alex tells her he's innocent, and he's afraid the murderer is after him and his family as well. Laura hands him an envelope containing money. He thanks her and says he'll let her know where he is once he knows where he's going. She tells him she'd rather he didn't tell her; she could betray him. He returns Laura's keys to her and leaves.

It was Velasco in the car that parked behind Laura's. He now gets out and follows Alex, gun drawn and a nervous look on his face. He catches up to Alex and starts to arrest him. Suddenly, there's a gun pressed against Velasco's head--by Laura. He thinks she's making a huge mistake, that her emotions are getting in the way of her judgment. She tells him there's only one way to prove the murderer is out there, and she needs Velasco's help. "If you help me," she says, "I promise I'll be the only one to take the fall."

Daniel goes after Diego. He momentarily loses sight of him, but then the two of them are face to face, and they fight. Diego gets the drop on Daniel and points his gun at him. Daniel tells him, "If you kill me, your wife will die too. Is she expecting a boy or a girl? Do you want to see your baby born?" He holds up his cell phone, which is connected live to a car where his wife is sitting; Hugo is holding a knife to her throat. Mónica says, "If you don't tell me where Natalia is, I'll kill your wife." Diego tells them Natalia is being held at the Hotel Platino. She's being delivered to the buyer tonorrow. They ask who the buyer is, but Diego says he doesn't know. After this, Hugo loses consciousness, and Mónica calls for an ambulance, he's bleeding out.
She also apologizes to Diego's wife and suggests she leave him.

Laura comes to see Humberto. She asks whether he has heard from his friend Eli. She's not answering her phone. I think Laura hears noise from inside Humberto's place, but Humberto tells her there's no one else here. Laura gives the usual "If you hear from her, tell her to call me" and leaves. Then he and Eli watch the TV news accounts of Alex's escape.

De la Cruz comes to where Natalia is being held. He tells her she's lucky. He used to be a violent man who would carve up her pretty face because of the trouble she has caused him. But then he found God. He cites biblical passages: " love thy neighbor as thyself" and "honor thy father and mother."

Daniel and Mónica arrive at the motel. They have Diego tied up in the trunk of the car. The scene shifts back to the motel room. Two men enter. I think one of them greets Natalia. My guess is that he's her father, but we won't know until tomorrow, if then.

Last night, I had to double up on Wednesday & Thursday episodes. My thanks to novelera and Juanita for providing the Wednesday recaps. Thank you very much to Juanita for the wonderfully comprehensive recap of the eventful Thursday episode. Sorry I couldn’t be of help for either day.

One more episode to go and I’m thinking Laura’s intuition is right this time.

Could it be Humberto killed Bea to frame Alex, thereby getting revenge for the death of his mother? And for extra added revenge, it looks like he might kill Eli in the same way his mom was killed.

I’m wondering if DEA Agent Pete is on the up and up.

Humberto was watching “Jugar con Fuego” on TV. A short but good novela that had a bit of an unusual ending. Maybe this ending will be a bit unusual, too.

That was Natalia’s dad.

That was way more than a short recap, Juanita. Have you considered a career as a screenwriter? Your descriptions were terrific!

The Humberto actor is doing a good job. Up until he began to seem shifty and suspicious, he seemed like the classic, perhaps gay, good friend of the young women in the cast. I suspect he's wanting revenge on Alex for what happened in Mexico 20 years ago. I now believe Alex is innocent of killing any women. But he was a suspect back then, and was not charged. The department store dummies that abound in Humberto's apartment are fairly creepy. I thought he worked for Torres' company and/or campaign. That's always been confusing to me, whether that office where they showed Eli and Humberto working was campaign HQ or part of a business.

Daniel lost the beard and now sports a galán stubble, the better to plant a kiss on Mónica. I was sort of hoping they'd steer clear of romance and break the telenovela mold.

I really bought it that Alex was going to commit suicide, clearing his daughter, and avoiding being in prison.

The commissioner with the shaky morals is Ramirez.

I really enjoyed the way Daniel, Mónica, and presumably D.F. cop played Diego. I guess even evil thugs love their wives.

I recognized Natalia's father. That actor was born to play a criminal! He was a really nasty guy in En Otra Piel. And dondi's crockpot theory does come to pass. At least Natalia won't be a sex slave. But I'm pretty sure Mónica and Daniel are going to get her back.

Yes, Humberto is looking more and more creepy, and perhaps more and more guilty of Beatriz' murder, as both of you have pointed out. And the department store dummies in his apartment definitely add to the creepiness.

novelera, I too believed that Alex was going to coommit suicide. What he actually did was much more satisfying dramatically.

Good catch, dondi, about "Jugar con fuego." I never saw that novela, but what you say (plus the fact that we have just one more episode to go) makes me think that Esconder, too, may not have a nice, neat ending.

BTW, I will NOT be doing a recap of tonight's episode.

Hilda is right, Sal is a good guy but he’s proven himself to be a stupid guy time and again. How long is he going to keep that evil perra in his house? I sense Hilda is feeling a little guilty about the lawsuit.

I could do without the fight club stuff. They make big money on this? And I’m also questioning why they would pit Al vs. Jota. I couldn’t figure out what Albeiro was doing with his mouth but you pegged it—he looked like Popeye! XY5 spinach, Popeye vs. Hulk, LOL, deb!

Diabla threatened to kill the bitches Albeiro always defends to get him to fight. Albeiro makes a weak counter with you’ll never see your son again. Do you really think that Diabla cares about that kid? He just a pawn in her evil games.

And we found out how Shadow got his nick. After the death of his wife and child, he was a shadow of his former self.

The Mexican narca is Joaquina Bendaño aka Cuina. She told Pilar not to call her by her alias because they barely know each other. Cuina wants exclusive rights to XY4 if it’s as good as she’s heard but Pilar is asking a high price. Cuina’s no rookie. She knows through her contacts that bastard Moncho is in Colombia and he’s working to improve XY4, so she’s ready to negotiate. Pilar looked shocked.

NO TE PUEDES ESCONDER – GRAN FINAL – Parte 1 de 3

Sánchez to Natalia: “You’re not happy to see me. Your dad has come back from the dead and this is the face you make.” De la Cruz: ”de tal palo tal astilla” (a chip off the old block). Natalia launches herself at Sánchez but is restrained by some thugs. She tells him he makes her sick. But he won’t outwit her mother.

He replies that she has no idea how much he would have loved to see her mother rotting in her grave, but actually it’s convenient right now that she’s alive and in Mexico. Natalia: “My mother is here?” [Good thing for Natalia she didn’t get her father’s nose.]

Mónica and Daniel arrive at the hotel and threaten the desk clerk to open up various rooms. While they are searching the rooms, Sánchez, De la Cruz and some thugs get away with Natalia. We see Nat kicking and resisting being put in a car. And Mónica opens a window and screams her daughter’s name.

In Madrid Alex wonders who it could be. He’s looking at, I think, photos of himself much younger and the Mexican victim.

Mónica tells Pete that Sánchez is alive. Pete wonders why he waited 3 years. Mónica says that he doesn’t care about Natalia. He just wants revenge on her. Daniel admits to Pete that he was hired to kill her. Pete figures out that Sánchez wants something from him.

Laura looks at those crime scene photos from 20 years ago in Mexico and then sees a photo, probably at the funeral, of a boy, Carlos Humberto, 8 years old. She figures it out.

Eli is watching the news about her father’s escape on TV in Humberto’s apartment. He brings her a cup of tila (lime flower tea) to calm her nerves. Viewerville yells not to drink it, but she does. When she’s woozy, he does the evil psycho gloating routine. “I was relieved when they arrested your father. I even felt compassion for you. I was going to let you live. But when he escaped…” He says that Alex must suffer. He can’t get the image of his mother bound up like that out of his head. He starts covering up the department store dummies with sheets (sick puppy).

It turns out that Pete knows Andrés, Daniel’s D.F. police friend. He says that Andrés helped the DEA in the past. They’re waiting for a call from Sánchez. Pete says that, if Sánchez were smarter and less full of ego, he’d have had plastic surgery and got away.

Mónica gets the call. She tells him that, if he hurts Natalia, she’ll kill him. He wants her to pass the phone to Pete, saying he has a proposition for him.

Laura calls Velasco and tells him that Humberto has Eli. Velasco yells at her not to go in alone (as if). She checks the ammunition in a really tiny gun. [Is that what they give cops in Madrid, or only the female cops?]

NO TE PUEDES ESCONDER – GRAN FINAL – Parte 2 de 3

Laura is outside Humberto’s apartment and hears a soprano aria. [Vissi d’Arte from Tosca? Not sure.] She picks the lock. Gun drawn, she searches the huge apartment. [Campaign work in Madrid must pay well.] Laura sees Eli in a room, nodding off, with a lot of ropes tied to her. Humberto comes up behind her and slashes her throat.

In Mexico Pete walks through the streets and is given a phone by someone so he can speak to Sánchez.

In Madrid Alex enters Humberto’s apartment. The door is open from when Laura picked the lock. He finds Laura, binds up her neck and calls 911.

In Mexico Pete tells Sánchez he looks good for a dead guy. Sánchez reveals his plan. He has discovered the DEA’s system of protected witnesses. It took him 3 years to find his ex-wife and daughter, but in the process, he found others. He knows where they live and their new names. Imagine if this were leaked. Heads would roll at the DEA.

Sánchez says that his daughter would guarantee that the DEA kept their end of the bargain. Pete agrees to help him.

Alex goes to the roof and sees Humberto with Eli. [How could he untie all those ropes so quickly?] Humberto tells him that his mother was innocent and Alex killed her. Alex admits that he did it [!] Humberto goes on to say that his father killed himself within a year. Alex: “Why aren’t you content with my being blamed for killed Beatriz Prats?” Humberto replies that he realized too late that Prats didn’t mean anything to Alex.

Alex charges and knocks the knife away. Eli falls down.

Velasco has raced to Humberto’s apartment but finds Laura being loaded into an ambulance.

On the roof, Alex and Humberto struggle. Alex stabs Humberto. He goes to Eli, but turns his back on Humberto. Humberto says Alex will know what it is to live after you’ve lost everything you love. He goes in a backward swan dive off the roof and lands on a car, dead. Later it appears that Alex got away before the police got to the roof.

In Mexico Pete joins Mónica and Daniel and tells them that he’s negotiating. He says that Sánchez will let Natalia go when he has a new identity.

Daniel and Andrés talk. Daniel wants to know where is the place where Sánchez will get his new documents. Andrés tells him he should know he can’t reveal that. Daniel calls Andrés an SOB. “Someone had to tell Sánchez Mónica and I were in the hotel. Only you knew. You worked with Pete in witness protection. You were the one who told Sánchez the new identities of Mónica and Natalia. What a coincidence! You were the one who hired me to kill Mónica. You were the one I chased in the plaza in Madrid.“

Andrés pulls a gun on Daniel, but is bashed in the head by Mónica from behind. She threatens to kill him if he doesn’t tell her where Sánchez is meeting Pete. He says it’s in a fighting gym nearby and will be at night.

NO TE PUEDES ESCONDER – GRAN FINAL – Parte 3 de 3

Mónica gets a text from Alex. Hard to see but I think it said: Take care of my daughter.

At Laura’s bedside we see Ramirez telling Velasco he wants to know what happened. He’s suspicious of Laura being alone in that house. Velasco tells him to leave it alone. Or he’ll have something to say when he’s asked why they investigated Alex’s daughter when everything pointed to Torres. Ramirez does a quick recalculation and talks about Laura maybe getting a medal, if she survives. After he leaves the room, Velasco tells the unconscious Laura that she has to survive, if only to kick Ramirez in the ‘nads.

Pete arrives at the boxing ring with an envelope containing a new passport. We see that Andrés, with a bruised face from Daniel hitting him with a gun, Mónica, and Daniel in a car are watching Pete go in.

Pete tells Sánchez he wants the girl. Sánchez replies that, until he gets out of the country, no girl. He also wants a guarantee that no one will touch his money. He’ll have someone let her go when his plane leaves.

Daniel and Mónica rush in. Pete: “What are you doing?” Sánchez tells Andrés he still owes him for work he didn’t finish (the hit on Mónica). Daniel and Sánchez point guns at each other. When Daniel lowers his, Sánchez shoots him. Moni screams and then picks up the gun. “Where’s my daughter?” Pete convinces her to put the gun down. Andrés wants to go with, but Sánchez refuses, saying he was well paid. Andrés: “You forgot something. I know where the girl is!” Sánchez roars and points the gun at Andrés, but Mónica shoots him.

Natalia is found upstairs in a dive bar. [We hear the best music of the whole novela – in Spanish.] In the street Mónica and Natalia embrace, sobbing.

Daniel wakes up with a good growth of beard. He’s been, I think, in a coma for two weeks.

Natalia has come to the prison to see Hugo. She says she’ll help him.

At Torres’ campaign HQ, he’s looking smug, saying the polls are way up. He’s told a new candidate for his secretary is in his office for an interview. Gabriel gives him a raised finger and a warning look.

We see Laura back at work, looking fully recovered. She gets a text from Alex: “We left an interesting story unfinished.” She smiles, but we can’t tell if she’s going for this or not.

We see Torres, but not the candidate for the job. She says she’s Eli Molina and 19 years old. He’s shocked. She says she’s Natalia’s mother. “Do you want money?” She tells him she wants his influence to bring a person, a prisoner, from Mexico. If he doesn’t succeed in this, he can forget about his political career.

We see Alex taking photographs beside some body of water. He’s taking pictures of some attractive woman. Then he sits and stares at her. She looks uncomfortable for a moment and then can’t help but smile.

MANY THANKS, novelera, for this magnificent recap! Reading it was like watching the episode.

I'm racing to leave, so I won't be able to say much more. I was really happy with the novela's gran final. I feared that we might have some unsatisfying, inconclusive ending, but my fears were unfounded. I even liked the somewhat edgy bit with Alex at the very end.

One thing I especially liked about this novela was Mónica's role. She wasn't just the helpless woman needing to be saved by Daniel. Indeed, she saved him, and more than once. And it was she who finally shot her despicable ex-husband. So I really liked it when, in the prison scene with Hugo near the end, Hugo says it won't be easy to help him, and Natalia says "You haven't seen my mother." And sure enough, Mónica comes through, pressuring/blackmailing Torres to use his influence to free Hugo--or else bye bye political career. You rule, Mónica!

BTW, I don't think the opera aria was Vissi d'arte but rather one from Madama Butterfly, though I could be mistaken. (And now I'm off to the opera, to watch the Met's Live in HD performance of Turandot--yet another marvelous work by Puccini.)

El Final del Paraíso

Catagrande speaks with Berrio. She doesn’t want to believe Natalia is guilty and all the security footage from the debate was erased. Cata wll meet with Berrio and take Zoraya and Vanessa with her.

Nelly says the electoral council will allow the campaign to go on but there will be a hefty fine to pay.

Moncho gets word from his Mexico contact that Cuina is getting a shipment of XY4. Mari comments that they forgot about Titi so quickly and Dayana talks about those old fools. But Diabla knows what to do—find the shipment and call the DEA.

Albeiro and Jota each get an extra dose of XY5. The fight continues and after a few more brutal minutes, Albeiro and Jota are both declared dead. Diabla exclaims Albeiro was not supposed to die! The Shadow gang makes plans. CataG & her group will go to see Berrio and Daniel and Rogelio will find the woman Black Hand/Fino was with. Shadow has a flashback to when he saw this woman. She was with Fino when he asked Shadow to take care of someone named Valerio Noguera.

Black Hand wants to have a presence on the dark web, the part of the internet that’s closest to hell. They will get a domain and upload content.

Titi is singing Pilar’s praises. She did a great job negotiating with Cuina. Meanwhile, Cardonita is overseeing the production and shipping of XY4. They want to increase production.

Back at the fight venue, Hand & co. plan what’s next. We have to find two new fighters—but no—Jota and Albeiro spring back to life! This makes Diabla smile.

Cuina was impressed by Pilar, too. She’d like to meet her. Cuina stops by some wrestlers in training. She’s not happy with one of them and he turns his back on her. She shoots him dead with no hesitation.

Jo wakes up in Sal’s bed. When Sal wakes he’s shocked, what are you doing here? He doesn’t remember anything but she had the best night of her life! It was wild, tender, it was great. He stops her and goes into the bathroom and Jo giggles away in Sal’s bed.

CataG and Vane are getting ready to go when Cata gets a call from Fransciso. Natalia has escaped—she left with a man. Oh boy, this makes Natalia look guilty. Cata assigns Francisco and Rafael to find her.

El Final del Paraíso


Natalia is at Ivan’s hideout. His artwork decorates all the walls. He brings Natalia something hot to drink. He’s at her service. They need to find Calvo and Diabla. But first Natalia needs to change her look if she wants to blend into Ivan’s world.

Agent Valeria goes to visit Albeiro. He thinks she’s lying about something. He tells her they have to keep on fighting. She for her brother’s cure and he for his cure. After his speech, Dialba gives one of her patented eye rolls. He asks her to swear on her brother she’s not lying and she swears. They embrace and she’s not rolling her eyes. Perhaps she’s happy Al is alive?

In some dark warehouse, Catamedia and Nachi are hooded and chained in separate cages. I’ll guess that the actors were otherwise engaged and were not available. Mari and Dayana arrive. CataM and Nachi are hosed down. Then they are taken from the cages and made to kneel before Mari. Hoods are removed but we only see CataM & Nachi from the back. CataM yells at Mari, you will pay for all of this. Mari slaps her, but she’s not ready to kill them yet.

Granados visits Liseth at the DEA training site. He tells her the AG did nothing with the evidence. Not to worry he’s made copies and they will find a court that will give them justice. But they need to make noise. He needs Liseth’s testimony. Of course she will. She tells him she has something planned for Conde. They will work together.

The AG and Conde are having lunch. They are talking about the videos. Strangely, the AG says Conde looked great in the videos…uh, he means great with the girls. (Does this guy have the hots for Conde?) Not to worry Conde, the AG has your back and in return he’d like to get in on one of those parties. Just so happens there’s a party this weekend.

CataG, Vane and Zoraya arrive at Berrio’s. Lucrecia greets them.

Valeria and Francisco talk about Natalia’s escape. CataG has left Valeria in charge while she’s away. Uh, oh.

Black Hand congratulates Santos on a job well done. They talk about Hand’s diabolical plan for XY6. Hand calls himself one of the horsemen of the apocalypse. Don’t be afraid Santos, blessed are those who are by my side. Amen, says Santos. And we're out.

Late to the party, just finished watching. Thank you novelera for a grand, gran final recap complete with witty asides. And thank you to both novelera and Juanita for all your work on recapping and commenting on this show.

When Pete said why didn’t you use your money for plastic surgery, was it bad I thought Sanchez could fix his nose? And then when I read novelera’s comment about Natalia getting Sanchez’ nose, I LOL’ed.

Separately, Laura and Alex look at Polanco murder clippings, figure out it’s Humberto and that Eli is in danger. We needed that for a quick resolution. It sure took Velasco a long time to arrive at Humberto’s.

I had wondered about Pete but it was Andres who was dirty. There always has to be a dirty cop, no?

Both Laura and Daniel survive thanks to marvels of Telenovela Medicine. I guess some tried and true endings are to be expected. But the escape of Alex to possibly murder again gave the ending and unusual twist.

I enjoyed this novela, but I thought it lacked slightly in details/explanations since it was so short. I was more interested in the Alex/murder side of the story because that kept me guessing more than the Monica/Natalia one. For me Alex was the most complex and interesting character.

Many of the actors (Spanish) were new to me and I thought they were great. Still loving Ivan Sanchez.

I will agree with Juanita that there was much to like about Monica. Blanca Soto is not a favorite of mine, but she acquitted herself well enough in this.

Thanks so much for the kind words, Juanita and dondi. I enjoyed recapping this one, probably because I could see the finish line!

The acting was quite good. I expect Iván Sánchez thoroughly enjoyed playing such an ambivalent character and working at home in Spain.

I read a lot of negative things about Blanca Soto, but haven't seen her in much. I saw parts of Porque el Amor Manda, where she was the lead. I mostly watched it to see Colunga again. I didn't notice terrible acting, but maybe I'm just not a good judge of that. She was fine as Mónica, very brave and a very loving mother.

The last thing I saw Eduardo Noriega in was the movie Open Your Eyes with Penelope Cruz. A very intriguing movie.

Telemundo has had several short novelas lately: Falco, Jugar con Fuego and now this one. I definitely enjoy short novelas. And I get the impression they get some very good actors to sign on because it doesn't require such a time commitment.
