El Dragon #52, 12/12/19: From One Threat To Another (Working)

  • Pilar and Kenia meet at their corner cantina to discuss Abdull's return from the [should be] dead and his essentially telling her she's got to hide him at her apartment.  That's a grave (you should pardon the pun) danger to Jorge who she's decided, per Pilar's advice, should be sent packing.
  • Ishiro and Chisca are watching movies together in her sick room at the manse.  Roario walks in and starts gabbing about how Dora just left the place, bag in hand, without telling anyone --and in a snit.  Ishi makes a mental note of this.  Rosi leaves before he lets Miguel's preparations for moving Adela up to the level of serious marriage material out of the bag.

  • Speaking of which, Ade tells Miguel that she's dreamed of this since the first time she nearly ran him over.  It's the most romantic night of her life.  (Yeah, but Viewerville is left wishing they could enjoy it with her --no heat in this fro-mance.)  He promises her many more nights like this.  ("Stick with me, kid.....)  She makes him repeat that he loves her in Japanese--naked, and then they share that togetherness on Eqyptian spun cotton again.
  • At the prison, meantime,  Braulio's cell mate retrieves the cell phone with the confession on it.  Some lawyer type who later turns out to be Carlos's mouthpiece, asks the prison doctor if Braulio will survive his coma.  It's touch and go. Lawyer guy tells the guard to keep him informed.
  • Jorge and Kenia fight over his being jealous of others.  She's acting strange, he says.  She says she's always been strange.  That's her persona.  Now let her alone!
  • Next morning the same guard meets with Bernal and tells him about the murder attempt on Braulio and that he may not live.
  • Dora has returned to CDJimenez and has a graveside chat with hubby's tombstone about what a rotten fool Miguel has turned into and that she knows Don Lamb wouldn't have approved.
  • Bernal and Claudia fight over the news about Braulio and why the attempt was made to murder him in the prison so soon after Epigmenio's visit.  He blames himself AAAAA-gain.  FF>>FF>>
  • Cell Mate remembers Braulio's request to get the confession into Hector Bernal's hands at El Suceso.
  • Next morning Kenia mentions she spent time with Pilar, (her ex).  Be truthful with him, he says and he again tells her he cannot and wouldn't judge her for anything.  She apologizes and hugs him.
  • Jemena learns from Trejo that Mig just bought a 5 star hotel.   Why do that when it's too classy to use for money laundering?  Trejo says it was not for laundering money, but something else, personal use.  (Oh, and would that something personal be Adela? Viewerville suspects that Jime has already guessed that it does.)
  • IN CD Jimenez Dora returns to the rancho and is told by one of the hands there that all the employees are frightened that Pig may return to finish them all off eventually.  She arranges a secret meeting with Sr. Ochoa and also sets up a meeting at the business to speak with the employees.
  • Ji-me -"'I'm his right-hand man'"-na is turned away at the front door of the swank hotel by one of the body guards.  He states he was told Sr. Miguel was not to be bothered by anyone.  Absolutely nobody was to be allowed in. She shows him a picture in her cell of Adela.  He nods that yes, Sr. Miguel is in the building with the lady pictured.  Obviously spurned, she drives off in a snit.  Inside their suite of rooms, Mig ignores the phone call he receives on his cell.  Viewerville has a sneaking suspicion Jimena's tires are melting the asphalt about now.
  • At Pig's pig-pen de grande, Lobo reports that Braulio was shivved but is hanging onto life by a hair.  Nobody suspects anything more than an unlucky brawl between lowlife criminal inmates.  Mrs. Piggy comes in to be courteous to Lobo but gets shooed out of the room by her husband.
  • Pig gets a call from Carlos.  He's reminded not to come visit or be seen with him for any reason.
  • A few minutes later when Pig drives off to his next "appointment" she flirts with  the willing Lobo in the shadows of the driveway near the house.
  • Cell Mate, Gualterio, engineered a meeting with his madre and sneaks the cellphone into her jeans in his cell.  He tells her about the confession and that the phone needs to be delivered to Hector Bernal at Suceso.
  • Jime meets with her old boss who's still got the hots for her and they agree to act as novios in front of Mig.
  • Abdull walks into Kenia's apartment.  She's really down.  She's humiliated and fearful.  She is made to greet him and fights to keep calm.  He calls her by another name,  "Tajiya."
  • Gualterio's madre delivers the cell phone to Hector.  He listens and realizes the value of this confession.
  • Ishi takes it upon himself to begin a rehabilitation program of his own with Chis.  She jokes she'll make a Mexican out of him yet.  He tells her nope, he's going to show her the measured and calming nature of Japonese culture.
  • Claudia and Hector have more puzzle pieces fitting together; they realize now why Carlos has been in Pig's muddy pen this entire time.  However, they've got to get the final proof that it was Carlos who engineered the attempted prison murder for Pig.
  • Abdull tells Tajiya he's got to be hidden there much longer than just over night.  She snips back her name is Kenia and she's got a whole new life now to preserve.  She cannot risk losing all that just to keep him hidden for an extended time.  He tells her she'll have to think of something.  When she accidentally calls him Christian he flies at her threateningly.  She hurriedly starts correcting her error.  "--Abdul--Abdul--Abdul!!! Perdon!  Perdon!"  He tells her the two of them are tied to each other till the end of time.  She should know that by now he 'd have come back for her!
  • Outside in the back yard,  Chis asks Ishi why he's taking so much time with her.  "--Because I enjoy challenges."  She smiles to herself and listens a bit more closely to what he's trying to explain .
  • At the truckyard, Dora tells the drivers that Miguel's no longer the patrón.  She is, y punto!
  • That evening Ana comes to listen to the story that Hector is going to publish about Braulio's confession.  She throws a temper tantrum and wrecks his laptop.  (Ouch!)  "You/We haven't gone through enough you've got to come up with this now????  I only came because I thought you were dispirited.  Don't you realize that if Duartes goes to prison there will only be others?"  It's that story or her and the baby.  Make his choice and fast.
  • Kenia breaks up with Jorge in the nastiest, most insulting way she can: he's cold crap in bed... only went out with him and tolerated him cuz he was the bosses brother,  etc.  Jorge melts in front of her eyes.  He leaves.  She cries her eyes out as Abdull comes out of the bedroom to cheer.
  • Dora meets with Ochoa and tells him that Mig hates his guts but she's more afraid of Pig returning to finish them all off once and for all.  She lies that Mig sent her there as his emissary to deal with Pig.  The request is to kill him and make it a clean hit.  She'll give him the information he needs for his men to find Pig in the DF.  But it remains only between the two of them.
  • Pig and Carlos, and Dora read Hector's very intriguing take on Braulio Lopez's cell phone confession about the death of Natalia.  It would seem she was caught in the crossfire of two drug gangs.  But was she?  What was she doing outside in a neighborhood she never frequented?  Braulio was working for Epigmenio Moncada who called him to do a "little job" for him.  Natalia's body was just outside Carlos Duarte's apartment complex.  Why?

Thanks Jardinera. The high point of this low episode was Rosie trying to call Ishiro-San Chisca's pet shortened (very familiar) name Shiro. He was soundly corrected by Ishiro that ONLY Chisca is allowed to call him that. To everyone else ....looking at you Rosie...he is Ishiro-San.

The Japanese culture is like many non American ones, much more hierarchical and class conscious, and not just any acquaintance may be addressed informally. The San after the first or last name is a non gender equivalent to our Mr. or Ms. Remember when Miggalicious San was in Japan everybody was 'somebody' San? Except Jimenema, I don't remember if she was Jimena San or just Yo Hoe.

Speaking of, so she is planning on a pretend romance with fuzzy face to make Mig jealous and get him back? DELUSIONAL. He will be thinking "Whew, maybe she will leave me the
frip alone now." And sending the fellow a Thank You gift. Wait till she sees that Adela has been moved into the Presidential suite. Zing. I hopeo her hair does not catch on fire with all that smoke coming out of her ears.

Mexico needs a separate disaster management department just to follow Hector and Clawdia around.

Kirby: You are so right about Jimena's dumb plan. I almost feel sorry for her if she thinks Miguel would care. Even when Victor was hanging around Adela, Miguel may not have been thrilled but he kept so calm and cool about it that it annoyed Adela and she lost interest in Victor even quicker. That tactic will not work on him, and like you said, he'd be relieved in Jimena's case. Now a plan that might work a teensy bit in getting his attention is if Jimena manufactures a plan for Miguel to save her. He has a bit of a hero complex. She still wouldn't get him back though, which brings me to...

I am enjoying Miguel and Adela's budding romance. I've now watched the UniNovelas YouTube channel clip of Miguel declaring he wants to be with Adela with all the relationship strings attached three times. It is so sweetly romantic. I enjoy seeing the difference between Miguel giving of himself for love vs. Miguel just being with a woman for convenience and physical benefits. It's already a world of difference from all the rest, except Asya. It's a sweet, tender chemistry and I hope it gets even better.

I felt so bad for Jorge. Kenia was a little too convincing breaking his heart into pieces. Poor kid has had it rough emotionally despite growing up rich and he didn't deserve that but maybe he will grow up or man up...

Ishiro "Shiro" is so good for Chisca and I hope she realizes that. She seems to have a crush on him too already, but her personality is naturally co-dependent...

Hector kept playing with fire and this time he might not live to tell or write about it. But I suspect he'll survive, not sure.

Torn about Dora. I like that at least one character is going after EPig but I don't want her against Miguel. She is not good or evil but she's capable of being bad or brutal, as we saw with her rapists and her attempt on Adela. Will she get herself killed in her quest to "honor" Lamberto's memory? She's such a Gemma Teller Morrow from Sons of Anarchy type of character.

Lobo should be called Loco. Does he think that messing with El Puerco's wife he's not going to end up in tiny pieces? I agree with Becky, Kenia was a little too convincing breaking Jorge's heart into pieces. It was sad to watch. Dora is fun to watch- you never know what she is going to do.

IthaBill you are spot on (I think) about Locoito and Carmen. She looked pretty convincing, ....BUT...she looked too convincing in front of eOink a few minutes earlier. He even scolded her, telling her not to come around the hired help showing so much skin or some such.

Being a Mexican Mobster's squeeze, I would not trust her (Carmen) for a second. But us dogs are after that stuff like a squirrel who will risk his life in a busy street going for one fricking little peanut.

Yeah Kenia was a little rough on Jorge. He needs to grow up. Nobody said life is fair. He will probably decide the easiest thing is just suicide though.

Becky I have hated Dora ever since she showed us that she is no better than ePig when she was in the process of killing Adela. Dora is dead to me, and the sooner for real, the better.

Great work, Jardinera.

Jorge could use a little of that Eastern meditation now, poor kid. I realize why Kenia did what she did, but she should not have gotten involved with him in the first place.

The seeds are now sown for a showdown between Dora and Miguel. That will be ugly in the extreme even if Dora is successful at take slaughtering the Pig.

I hope Hactor survives.

As for who will influence whom... Ishiro is less likely to get Chiscainto a kimono playing the shamisanthan she woul be getting him to groove to this.

Despite the nurse's dire warnings, Chisca seemed to be quite pain free being carried out onto the lawn.

Great job, Jardinera!

ePig’s wife is dancing on a minefield getting all flirty with her husband’s new right hand man. Granted, he is much easier on the eyes as Tacho was butt ugly.

Jimena and her kuniption fit! Get over it girl, you have already been told more than once that there was no future or anything in your relationship with Mig. Yet, she persisted thinking sex would change his mind.

Dora has a lot of nerve declaring herself the new patrona!

Poor Jorge! I guess Kenia had to make it clear she did not want him back and maybe did it for his own safety?

I sure hope Hector survives. I wonder of Ana will visit him in the hospital.

As for Ishiro, I do know that the word “shiro” means white in Japanese. Ishiro probably doesn’t want to be called Whitey.

Jar—Great recap. You furnished us with all we needed with style and verve.

I think Dora is being set up as a traitor to Mig’s “new direction” so he won’t feel so badly about her knowing that Lambiepie was the one who ordered the kill on he’s parents. Just musing.

Now we know why Carmen ePig was introduced in the first place. We all wondered why. Well ePig isn’t the loving husband he portrayed earlier. He has a mean, abusive streak and isn’t shy about man-handling her. No wonder she might be seeking a little diversion on the side.

I’m beginning to enjoy Shiro a lot more, now that we know he has a softer side.

Jimena is the dog with a bone (Miggy’s). She isn’t going to let go. I don’t think blatant rejection will stop her. If Miggy won’t play her game, she’ll HAVE to go after Adela. It’ll be more than lady cat-fights.

She better not touch Adela or I turn into Ikirbo San and come after her skanky ass.

Thanks, Jardinera.

My, Jimena is desperate. Pulling out a school girl trick to make Mig jealous. Piteeful.

Dora's got spunk. Can she take down Pig? Nah, only our hero can on do that. Lol

Niecie but does Dora have enough spunk to maybe hopefully, get herself killed? Or be like most of these OTHER CRIMINAL MURDERERs just get a bowl full of helpers killed trying to go after McPig....er ePig.

Just a REMINDER--NO SHOW tonight due to the Teleton.

Rgv Chick, apparently there is a new episode of El Dragon tonight at 10pm on the Univision schedule. Amor Eterno will also air in its usual 7pm time slot but Ringo and La Rosa de Guadalupe will be pre-emptied for the Teletón.

You guys are so funny. 😂 And your wide-ranging knowledge never ceases to amaze me. How do you guys know so much about Japanese culture, e.g., Yakuza, Red Threads, Shiro = White, San after the first or last name is a nongender equivalent to our Mr. or Ms.?

Kirby. You always have me in stitches.
*. Adela moves into the Presidential Suite,
*. Jimena is like a dog with a bone,
*. You'll turn into "Ikirbo San" if Jimena goes after Adela,

Urban. Where in the world did you come across that YouTube Salsa soundclip? Do you just randomly surf YouTube? I had to share it right away with my Latin relatives so they would know Salsa reigns supreme! I'm sure they'd prefer Merengue, but Salsa is close enough.

I remember one recapper would give us YouTube links to soundclips, most of which were from the 70s, 80s, and, being older, I enjoyed them so much. Unfortunately, I can't remember who the recapper was. It's just a wonderful example of the uniqueness of each recapper's style.

It'll be fun to watch the Dora/Miguel showdown. Somehow, I think Miguel will work it out.

Victoria, it was dear Madeline who'd include just the perfect YouTube soundclip for whatever was happening in the TN she was recapping. She was a total sweetheart.

Glad the show will air tonight after all. I'm going to give Mig a chance to show how faithful and devoted he will be to Adela.

Yes, my Direct TV guide is showing that El Dragon is on after the Telethon.

Sorry guys and gals; my mistake. Whenever they show previews of Dragon, they cut off the ending about it showing tonight; so I thought it would be preempted. 10 noodle lashes for me :-(

You're not foolin me you RGV Chik you. You just wanted the show all to yourself tonight. :-)

Now Heck has been shot, Claw will certainly be by his side Ishiro-ing him back to health, so this will probably be the bitter end for Aw Heck and Ana.

Breaking my laptop would have done it for me.

Just perusing the comments after posting my recap and realize that we are all on the same wavelength here. So many things I was thinking, you all were also thinking. I guess that is a good thing. I took the week off of episodes after last Friday nights, plus jetlag. But this got interesting!
