El Dragon #56, 12/18/19: Of Intergenerational Warfare And Of Infiltrators Revealed

Parte 1~~
  • Ishiro presents Miguel a possible location for his secret business negotiation: an island owned by a top Yakuza which is barely noticeable on a map, is difficult to reach by anything but a small boat and is well protected by lots of hard to negotiate coral reefs.  Of course Mig loves it and tells Ishi to contact/invite the most powerful businessmen around the world to take invest in Efilino production and sales.
  • While inspecting the aforementioned obscure local, Miguel learns that Epigmenio's body has never been found and that it was Dora who gave the order behind his back (I think).  He returns home to the DF and has it out with Dora.  How dare she go behind his back?  She dares because Cd Jimenez appears no longer to be on his radar and somebody has to take care of the remainder of their people and the transport company.  He was totally indifferent to Zaragoza's death and to the feelings of the rest of the gang, who after all, are people dependent upon them.  He says she's living in the past and he's got their entire future at stake.  Well, she may be old fashioned but he was brought back to provide for El Salado per Abuelo Don Lam and he's apparently thrown that all overboard. He's now as useless as lips on a chicken!  He insists she's part of the history of the family and thus its future, but she says then why isn't she invited to this big upcoming meeting?  Old fashioned ideas aren't welcome there.  Well then, she's takin' care of Grandpop's wishes and he knows where to find her!
  • Chis and Ishi continue their Japanese tai chi equivalent and she invites him to a true Mexican meal where she orders ala habanero.  Surpriiiiiiiize!  What takes away the pain?  Kisses, of course.  The next day he makes some guacamole con jabanero--reverse surpriiiiiise!  Again the pain is taken away with kisses.  They pretty much know there's a definite attraction and boundaries are respected (ala Bushido Viewerville suspects.)
  • Peligros gets the order from Mig to keep an eye on Dora....for now.
  • Jimena has problems with her new company of computer nerds.  One of the two young men who invented the app she's using and investing in via her contacts is worried about where the money is coming from.  (Good instincts!)  His buddy says she's got contacts and this is international business.  Nobody else wanted to invest in us so who ultimately cares.....(or some such).
  • Pig tells Lobo he's going crazy locked inside this hideout.  Besides that it's driving him crazy that his drug sales have been taking such a nosedive.
  • Hector learns the truth finally while at the doctor's office that he may never walk again.  He takes it out on the wifey and begins drinking again.
  • At Techie Towers, the team gets the news from about the secret business meeting and that their job will be to keep any signals from phones, etc. from escaping the island during this meeting.
  • Peligros, on Mig's orders, goes to Pig's club and hires a hooker--dancing societal health and welfare worker--to give him the lo-down on Pig and his current status.  He learns the guy's at a hide out and fit as a fiddle.  He informs Miggy about the Piggy.  Mig decides to set up a meet with the man.  Peligros sets it up even though it is mighty risky bidnez.
  • Trejo thinks it's prety fishy that Ishi is giving orders instead of himse'f and pretty much says as much to Ishi.  Talk to the hand is about all he gets from   (Alarm bells go off on this end of Viewerville.  Too bad he's too old and too clean for Chis or this all could have remained his......)
end of parte 1~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • Gary gets word from his snitch that Mig's set up a special meeting on a private island somewhere to discuss investing in Efini.  He and Fedral Prosecuting Attorney (DOJ equivalent) Edna discuss pressuring somebody to get the location of that meeting so they can raid it.
  • That evening Kenia provokes Christian, aka Abdull by bringing home halal in the form of fish.  They get into a real knock-down drag-out and she manages to grab a huge carving/chopping knife and shoves it into him.  Apparently that does not end all of her problems.  She's got to get rid of the body and it's none other than Detective Gary on loan to Edna who gets that call.  And why???  Because, SHE is the snitch he's been using to follow Miguel Garza's every move!!!  Duh-dun!!!!!
  • We get a telling flashback to their first meeting.  She's wants free of all the Islamic Terrorism trauma and drama.  Well,  we learn that Kenia, nee Gabriela, was part of the shooting of the 3 innocent military recruiters? in Chattanooga back in 2015.  So, now that she's murdered her brutal hubby and needs to get free of the body and the charge of his murder, she will have to help him by letting him know the location of the island Mig's having that Efilina meeting.  He pressured her into becoming his and Edna's snitch and he does it again when forcing her to use a chip to get the secret location of the meeting or else.  Then he shoots into her inner arm right before she heads out for her trip to the island; afterward he takes the body out of the apartment.  She's cleaned up the blood after the body is gone, but when Gary looks around the apartment that next day we are made aware that, unbeknownst to him or to Kenia, aka Gabriela, that she has lost out on the Good Housekeeping Award for cleanliness.  Yep, she missed a spot of blood around on the corner floorboard.
  • Mig and Peligros meet with Pig and his posse.  Mig is asked if he was behind the attempted assassination.  Mig replies again that Pig's only alive because Mig doesn't want him dead.  He then invites Pig to their meeting on the island.  He doesn't mention Efilina is the reason for the season, but does give him the thumb drive with the instructions for arriving there and when.
  • The Techie Towers group arrives on the island.  Kenia tries to ask Ishi the location but he gives her the Evil Eye and she shuts the heck up.
  • Then Ochoa, now head of security for this meeting, scans everyone.  And yes, Viewerville as well as Kenia is surprised to learn that her chip went through the scan totally undetected.  (There was so much competition from all the metal and bling on her jacket and her head that it's no wonder Ochoa wouldn't have thought much of it if the scan had started bleeping!)
  • Back in the DF at the Miggy manse, Mig informs Dora that Pig's still alive and kicking.  However, the good news is that he doesn't yet know she was behind the attempt to off him.  Peligros hopes he doesn't ever find out.  (More alarm bells go off in Viewerville.)  Mig tells Peligros to stay with Dora there in case Pig shows up.  He might very well show up if he doesn't come to the island for the meeting.  Suddenly Adela appears in a simple but elegant and totally femine summer dress.  She is accompanying Miguel to the island.  Dora is bummed, but keeps silent.
  • At the island, security is everything.  Flaco sets up the radar blocking app (it's a Flaco special) and the signal blocking apps.  Miguel is the only one who will have contact with the outer world.  Kenia is bummed.
  • Mig and Ade arrive on the island.  He introduces her as his wife.  (A custom I truly don't understand.)
  • Back in the DF, Edna has an admiral in the navy who has his people tracking for the radar signal that should come from Kenia's chip.  And sure as shootin' the signal starts sounding on the screen.  They've got a lock on the island...or have they?

Gracias, Jardinera. How many episodes are left?

Kenia is on my shit list with no turning back. While I was almost yelling at her to kill Abdul I think she is garbage for having gotten involved with terrorists in the first place.

Whatever Gary shot Kenia with is unlikely to work all that fast in view of how this series is paced. I am wondering how it will all end.

The stuff in the blender looked like wasabi, which definitely clears up the sinuses.

I hope they're leading the Pig to slaughter but I still don't think that will happen until the last episode.

Thanks, Jardinera.

So Kenia is the mole. Scratching my head why she didn't get the Feds to get rid of Abdul before she had to do it herself.

All this time I thought Mig was trying to take the family business legit, but Elfilina is a new illegal drug and he's getting mobsters to invest. How will his family be any safer when he's still married to the mob?

Adela is sweet, but she's like a school kid when it comes to understanding all the dark corners Mig is knee deep in. Jimena is bitter, but she's a sharp cookie when it comes to Mig's business.

Thank You Jardinera.

It appears that the writers see Muslims through a different set of eyes than our impeachers see them with. Kenia's implementation of the end of her affiliation with Ab-Dull should have happened years ago. She is still a murderer, one notch above an attempted murderer, Dora.

Mig is now introducing Adela, (shockingly,to her delight) as his wife?

Kenia's 'chip' is a far better product than the one in Fido and Fluffy it seems.

Does Miggy believe that ePig and others give a flying flip at a chipmunk whether Mig is “A man of his word. “ if it has no immediate affect on whether he plans to kill them or try?

What Really truly set Ad-Dull..(Sounds like some new exercise, heh?) off was Kenia eating something and PORK rinds and inviting him to have some or starve, cause that was the only thing edible in the house. Infidel.

Yes she ias on my shit list too. As a matter of fact, I would only mourn 1.Adela, 2. Peligros, and 3. Ishiro's passing right now. Pretty much everyone else should not contribute to our gene pool.

Oh maybe Edna / Gloria, but I suspect that is just woofactor.

On the fly. Thanks, Jar. You made me wait for parte 2, but it was worth it.

Hey, Caray Spanish Students--remember mi "mujer" means my "woman." The way macho men like Miguel use it, it means without needing to carry around a marriage certificate or producing it on request. On the lowest rung, it means they are exclusive sex partners. Up a few rungs, higher than novia, but no longer a virgin. Top rung, she's got the rings AND the certificate AND the sex. I'm not sure how Adela feels about that label. Novia would have been more socially acceptable. Anyway--that's my take on the word.

Thanks all! Yep, I TA that Mig should have introduced Adela as his novia, but to me she's a play wifey, or playing house, despite the various shades of entanglement and emotional involvement, but oh well..... : ? )) Chalk me up to Team Dora here. Anyway, I do pity Kenia more than hate her because she was not counting on falling in love with Jorge. On the other hand, as soon as Abdull forced his way back in, literally, she should have gone to Gary and gotten the dude arrested and out of her life. If she hadn't taunted the creep she wouldn't have had to kill him and she should have had that knife in her hands from the moment she entered the apartment-- in a sheath or something for easy access, not to mention having taken a course in self-defense???? But, then where'd the terrific suspense be?

OT:
I saw Últimas Semanas a couple nights ago. It would seem about right since I remember reading the show would be 80 or so capitulos. Wikipedia said there were 38 in season 1 and 44 are in #2. So, 82 total. This is 56.

Jardinera...re: self defense courses. um...yeah, but don't you need some kind of similar skills to be a friggin terrorist to begin with? I just never thought of a terrorist chick getting her face smashed into the cheese dip on the kitchen counter by a wormy little runt like Ab-Doer. I think of more like a Rosario Tijeras on steroids and cray cray to boot.

Snicker!
