El Dragon #63, 12/27/19: The Great Escape

This episode starts out by showing us what Tacho was doing with all of the money that Dora had given him. It turns out that he has bought at least half the prison, according to Chuey, who is none to happy to not be on the payroll. It looks like the entire thing happens on the day of their plan, but is told through flashbacks showing how the entire thing was planned and executed.

Tacho is living a pretty comfortable life handing out money for his creature comforts. Where he is storing the majority of the money, I have no idea. Then one day he meets a guy. His name is Inge and he was being picked on in the common area and Tacho came to the rescue. Inge is in prison for robbery, but he used to work on the plumbing and sewers of the city. Tacho is interested in this and confirms he was familiar with this particular zone, where the prison is located. When Inge gives the affirmative, Tacho tells him that he is his new best friend. Mom sneaks in what looks like maybe more money… never was really sure what she hid in the soap, and a map of the plumbing of the entire area in what is supposed to be a leg of something.

Felix brings Tacho breakfast, and a flashback to Felix , Inge and Tacho going over the sewers that run through the area. There is a part of the patio where the pipe runs through. Felix gets into an argument with a guy who usually puts his carpet there. I believe this becomes the carpet that turns into the base of the conjugal visit tent. Tacho strikes a deal with the guy, tells him to put his carpet in another area and every week he will give him some money. A lot of the conversations are them talking nonsense in a hearable voice to throw off those around them and then talking about their plan in whispers at the same time.

The scenes jump between the present and them making the plan and how they executed it. Tacho’s friend the hooker, Talia is helping them out. When each of the guys are supposed to be doing their conjugal visit with her, they are filling bags she brings in with dirt from the tunnel they are digging under the tent carpet. She does this with each of the guys in turn. They work while she sits there. They pay her as if she was there for her real purpose but she doesn’t actually do anything. The entire time they are digging the tunnel deeper and deeper.

Finally, it is like they actually hit the pipe. Then we see Talia leaving and disposing of the dirt outside the prison before leaving. In each scene with each of the guys she is in a different outfit, so we assume that this is weeks going by where this is all taking place.

Inge and Felix are sealing up the laundry shoot where Braulio Lopez escapes and Inge burns Felix on purpose so that he can get into the infirmary. The doctor treats him and he asks for pain killers. He offers him money for stronger drugs and when the doctor leaves, he searches the infirmary for something. He finds a little black thing attached to a key ring, car key? First time I watched, I wasn’t sure what it was, but now, I am pretty sure it was the key to the doctors car. Why it was in a drawer of the infirmary? I am not sure.

Chuey tells one of the guards that he suspects Tacho is up to something. The guard listens and tells him that he will keep an eye on him. He tells him that he better not do anything without the guards knowledge. He asks Chuey why he should believe him and Chuey tells him that Tacho owes him a few and that he is going to pay.

On the day of, Talia enters the prison. Tacho is packing his pockets with money and remembering all of the ways Epigmenio did him wrong and humiliated him when he was his right hand guy. Tacho has to calm himself down. Talia enters as normal and they make her dump her bag, it looks like she might get caught because when she dumps her bag and there is dirt residue in the bottom. It was a different guard than normal. He tells her she has a big bag for so little stuff. She tells him that she likes big bags, its her thing. He touches the dirt and asks her what it is. She says she needs to clean out her bag, He tells her that it looks cleanliness, isn’t her thing.

Tacho meets with Rambo in the bathroom and gives him money, tells him he needs to look good cause the occasion deserves it. Tacho goes around handing out money, Chuy won’t stop giving him dirty looks. Rambo and the rug guy on Tacho’s payroll are talking about who starts, that it needs to be a realistic fight. They talk about the logistics of starting the fight. Inge and Felix get into a fake fight over the fact that Inge burned him. Tacho butts in and says that the charge is the same for everyone. It was totally stages. Tacho goes in, Talia goes in, Felix follows, and Inge sneaks in the back door. Chuy is watching the whole thing go down. All three of them get into the tunnel and Talia is guarding the door.

Chuy goes and talks to the guard about what happened. He tells him that Tacho and Felix went into the tent and that he thinks the girl is involved as well. The guard says that maybe they just want a group thing and that he doesn’t see anything unusual about it. But just so Chuy feels better, he will go and check things out. They have a funny talk about where there tent is located. The guard is confused. The guard tells Chuy thanks, but Chuy wants more for the information. There are rules, he says. The guard says that if something comes of it, he will hook Chuy up.

The guard goes from tent to tent looking for Tacho, asking about him and where he is. The guys are in the tunnel, there are bars on the entrance to the pipes. They send Felix to retrieve a crowbar. He almost gets caught. Talia covers the hole and when the guard finally gets there, she is sitting there alone, after having just covering the hole with the carpet. She tells him they left a while ago. He asks what she is still doing there. She says waiting for more clients, a girl has to eat, basically hinting at him. He tells her she is crossing a line. Then he leaves the tent.

The three men escape through the tunnel and pipes to the parking lot and use the key for an escape car. At the same time, the guys inside have started the fight to distract the guards. They get to the gate, and the same guard who has been looking for them takes money from Tacho through the window. He hands over money for the guys fighting an the guard tells him to be careful so that he doesn’t end up back there tomorrow, Tacho tells him he is never going back.

The men arrive at a location, dump the car and go their separate ways.

Duarte and the director of the prison are arguing over what happened. Duarte wants him to resign because of the escapes. Duarte tells him he isn’t any good to him. The director threatens that he will talk. Duarte tells him that if he talks he will tell everyone that the director helped Braulio Lopez escape and that it will look like he was in on it.

Tacho goes to Talia, she has stuff for him, clothes, a gun with silencer, and a tracker. He takes a shower and is off. He gives her a stack of money. He says he is going after the guy that put him in jail.

He is at Epigmenios house, he sneaks through the gate. The dogs come after him, but they know him, so they just get love from him. He sneaks into the house and hears sounds of two people going at it. I am sure he expects to find Epig. Instead he finds Lobo and Carmen. He does the smart thing and takes a quick video and then places the tracker on Lobo’s truck.

Lobo receives money from the street vendors. One of them tells him how they are selling less than usual, just the usual customers. Lobo goes to a bunker in the ground of sorts to drop off the money that he stole out of the bag. It is full to the brim of stack of cash. He drops in the new money and then takes the bags to Epigmenio. Tacho tracks him the entire way. He is going to be interested in finding the money Lobo is hiding.

Edna, Duarte, and the prison director are arguing over the number of escapees. She suggests that the director is involved. But that she is going to open an investigation over the management of the prison. He tells her to go ahead, he doesn’t have anything to hide. Duarte doesn’t want to meet Edna’s eye.

Lobo takes the money to Epig. He asks if he saw Carmen, how is she is doing. Is he taking care of her. He tells Epig about the friend she made at the gym, that she is alone, and feels lonely. He gives Lobo his cut of the money and a little extra to buy Carmen something.

After Lobo leaves, Tacho sneaks into the property where Epig is staying. He has to kill a few guards to enter the property, but does it with no problem. He searches the house looking for Epig and finally finds him in the kitchen. The episode ends with Tacho holding the gun on Epig. Does he have the guts to pull it, cause in honesty, Epig did not look scared.

This episode was a lot of filler with all the jail break stuff, that prob wasn’t necessary, but at least it made this recap easier and was mildly amusing. Using the conjugal visit tent to dig a hole out of the prison yard, come on. Plus bringing in a bunch of hookers for conjugal visits. Also pretty funny. Not sure how true to reality this is of the Mexican prison system, but it makes for good tv. My favorite part was when Tacho was in the tent with Talia and he tells her that they should make noises so that no one suspects anything and she does such a good job you can actually see his mouth watering and he tells her to basically bring it down a little, he is only human. I hope I didn’t make you all wait too long for the recap. These double headers are brutal. Hope you all have a super Happy New Year, and I will be with you all again, in 2020. We are rounding the last few weeks of episodes here. Good night.

DAM this show.......it keeps luring me into rooting for the bad guys, and girls.

Thanks Esther. Sorry I'm late, the roofer just left and I had to spend some time with him. He said he had never seen anything like my roof damage. The closest he had seen was when a water heater had exploded. I don't think he ever really believed me about a beanie doing all that, while leaving my head undamaged.

Dora brings in a bag of cash the size of a German Shepherd easily? OK
Taco's Mom brings in a ham sandwich the size of a 45 calibre pistol. OK
Conjugal visit area? Looks more like Hooker Heaven to me. Ninety nine percent of these guys are with far better looking girls than they left on the outside. So tell me once more, WHY is there so much resistance to being in prison?

I couldn't follow last night's episode. Kept scratching my head and saying, "what???"

Kirby: Clemson will win their 4th National Championship. Mark my words!

I think I saw that my Miss State Bulldogs are playing Whodat in the Obscure bowl somewhere or another.

Cynthia....yes... Very weird. We spent a lot of time in prison.

Steve: OMG LSU 63 Oklahoma 28 Final.

SEC Rules
Clemsom Ohio State started at 8:00 Should be close game

Alrighty my Patio Peeps, the second hour of Friday night has now been added. The first hour is listed as episode number #62 as this is how Univision has them listed. Hope this clarifies any confusion about last nights two hour marathon.

Alrighty, Thanks again Esther. It should be noted, that Taco should have probably just stayed in jail because he is just too dam dumb to be outside: He spends what looks to be a majority of the Library money just getting out of jail to avenge his being put there in the first place by ePIG and cohorts.

His previous OJT serves him well, and he finds ePig and dispatches a couple of his replacements to a warmer place. He finds his prize: El ePig himself.

He wins the draw on El ePig and has his weapon on him. Now KILL HIM. No. Not smart enough. He wants to talk......FIRST. Taco crumbs, this aint ePig's first Indian War. And while you are getting it off your little hairless chest about how much you and those people on that Caray blog want him dead, ePig is probably thinking of a way to make you DEAD. Or waiting for reinforcements to arrive. (Thinking: "Keep him talking, one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three......")

Mortally wound him.....then talk. Just not a head shot, because that shortens your chat time. But almost any other shot and he will be for certain he is a goner, and then will really believe you that you are mad at him.

Happy day in the SEC frozen people. :-)

I concur completely Kirby. This is not going to end well for Tacho. Hopefully mom and dad have the rest of his money and are set for life. Cause by the end of 64, I think Tacho is dead. I do want to see him show Epig the video though. However, what if he ends up right where he was before, after Epig dispatches Lobo, 2nd in command to Epig, because he apologizes or something? But yeah, shoot first, talk later.

Thank you, Esther! I missed the first hour because I was recapping "Ringo." Then when I finally tune in to "Dragon" it's all about Tacoboy! So were the others taking a mini-vacation or what? Or maybe the writer's wanted to make up for all the episodes which were Taco-free. Who knows...who cares?? :-)

Ditto on everything Kirby said and definitely--"SHOOT FIRST, TALK LATER!" All that time and effort to get out of jail just to end up six feet under.

Kirby..I so agree. These dimwits are like Bond villains who like to take time to tell 007 what they are going to do to him while James turns the tables. Mindless, droning Yakety yakety yak is just as frustrating in real life. Just. do. It. Has become my mantra.tick tock. Life is short.

Thanks. Listen up Tacoboy, ePiglet probably ALREADY knows why you are there. Disable him with some good quality rope or bullets, OR, why not, BOTH. Then show him how much in Luuuurve Carmen is with his money and helper. But not with YOU ePig. Then leave him there thinking about it while he dies. He would do worse to you. We have watched ePig chop off people's hands and worse. He deserves no gentleness from TacoBoy.

Susie I agree. Maybe a lot of people just do not have a good command of the Queen's English, but some people are like these TN people who drone on forever to say what I could sum up in a short sentence. And you are standing there ready to butt in and say, "Well, are you or aren't you? " Just give me a one word answer.

Thank you, Esther. Yes this episode seemed like a filler, but I was glad to see Tacho again. When Kirby says, "DAM this show.......it keeps luring me into rooting for the bad guys, and girl," I have to agree. It turns everything inside out. Now Ishiro has killed that poor guy (Leopold?) who only went to Howard to get out from under everything, and Miguel appeared to approve. Leopold wasn't even a bad guy. This TN is changing the rules.

Thank you Esther. I was so tired on Friday night that I think I kept dozing off. Thank you for putting it together and filling in all the blanks. I have it recorded, but truthfully, I do not want to sit there through all that again. It was so unbelievable to me to see hookers at the prison. Is this really a Mexican prison's idea of conjugal visits? Do the prostitutes get paid for their "work"? Good grief!

OT: I was glad I didn't have to recap this week. On Monday, I had to put my 16 1/2 year old cat (he was my baby) to sleep. I just haven't been much in the mood for TNs lately. He's been sick for a while and he went into full kidney failure. It was extremely sad and I miss him.

Kirby...some of my favorite people call me Susy. Merry Christmas.

Gracias, Esther, and everyone else who recapped this past week. I am not looking forward to a double header of this tonight; those are hard enough for more traditional stories. It may take me longer than usual.

This whole escape was so improbable but very entertaining. Not to mention the idea of "conjugal" visits from prostitutes. didn't find any information about Mexico yet, but here is info about some other countries.

Adela is a little too close to the precipice now.

How much of that cash will Tacho have left if he survives?

I'm sure the video he shot is part of his payback to Pig and he's hoping to get a reaction to it before he kills him. That would be sweet, but it's much too risky.

I was stunned too at the "Conjugal Visits". The definition of the word leaves no doubt that it pertains strictly to marriage.

But given what I am beginning to learn of Spanish culture, it would not surprise me if what we saw in the show is based on actual practice.

Thanks, Esther. Your are a trooper doing double episodes holiday weekend.

A shame about Leopold. He never wanted to do business with Mig in the first place, but Mig crashed Leopold's private hotel party, whipped him good, and threatened to tell his wife about his spike heels and lingerie. I felt bad for him then. Mig is better than Pig, but he's still a menace to society.

I don't know if prostitutes make regular prison calls in Mexico as shown here, but they sure do it a lot in the movies.

Cynthia, I'm so sorry about your cat. All pet lovers know how you feel. I'm sure he had a wonderful life in your care.

(((Cynthia))) so sorry that you had to have your pet put to sleep. Losing a person or animal we love is always sad.
