El Dragon #44, 11/29/19 (Season 2 Episode 6): Saving Lives, Exposing Secrets
Sorry this episode is posted a little late. I started yesterday and about half way through, was burned out. So I had to finish this morning. But I am on the west coast so various hours behind most. Next week I will be on the road again reporting from the Eastern Time Zone, I hope I can get through it.
This episode seems to pick up into what I wrote last night. Edna is searching Garza transport, looking for illegal substances in the trucks. And my assumption is that the anonymous call that was received was from good ol Valentin. They search the truck and find nothing. All the while the trucks that did contain the illicit merchandise escaped just in time. Zaragoza handled the merchandise upon its delivery to the empty warehouse.
Peligros and the guys are talking about whether or not they would get caught. Peligros is sure they are fine. He complains to Edna that the guys need to get back to work or their loads are going to be delivered late. Edna resigns herself to the fact that they got away with it this time.
Peligros gives the all clear to Miguel and then Miguel is meeting with Carlos telling him that Edna is getting information that involves him and that she is a step ahead of them. Miguel says that Tacho must have talked and Carlos says no way, and that couldn’t it have been Hector. Now I doubt Hector would have warned M and then turned around and reported him. But since Carlos hates Hector, he provides and easy scapegoat.
In Edna’s office we see the meeting between the Secretary of Cuidad Jimenez and Edna again. Maybe being more awake today I can do justice to this conversation. Edna tells the Secretary that she had been in CJ the day before and wanted to talk with him but felt that he would be more secure if they met in CDMX. The secretary asks her to get to the point, cause he honestly has no idea what she is talking about. She says ironically, I think deep down you understand what I mean. (I am thinking that she thinks he is in the pockets of the traffickers and that if he is seen meeting with her in CJ his life is in danger. But as far as we know, this is not true.) The Secretary tells her that he would like for there to be no misunderstandings between them. She tells him that she has read his file and they are on the same team. The secretary admits that he may have said to much and to getting caught up with the journalist. This comes as a little bit surprising to Edna and she asks if he means Hector Bernal. She tells him that she doesn’t want to do him any harm, but that she will be going up against the court that is in charge of the case of Helena Bernal. She wants him to tell her the truth and he tells her that everything he told the journalist is the truth. That they changed the ballistic results of Helena Bernal from above. Edna says that that is where her doubts came from and asks, Carlos Duarte. The Secretary just gives her a look, like he doesn’t want to confirm or deny that information.
Miguel goes and hits up Hector about going to Edna with information about Garza transportation. Hector asks where M got the info, M tells him that it came from Carlos, Hector tells him that all he did was try to protect M from Edna and from her accusations. M says that he doesn’t know who to believe. Hector asks him the obvious question, which is why would he have warned him if he was just going to turn him in, and that there is no sense in everything M is saying. H tells M that he thinks he is looking it. M tells H that he doesn’t have the luxury of losing it. Hector says that he doesn’t want to get Miguel into trouble, but that it isn’t his fault, that Miguels family does dirty business. Miguel tells H that there are things that he doesn’t understand and Hector says that what he doesn’t understand is why the criminals walk around in the streets free, like nothing, just because they have business dealings with Miguel. Miguel tells him that it isn’t like that. Hector tells Miguel that he isn’t going to do what is convenient for Miguel, but rather, what is correct. Miguel tells Hector that he has done enough. Tacho is in prison. Hector says that it isn’t enough, he wants everyone to pay, everyone to be being bars. Miguel insists that Tacho is not going to talk. Hector thinks he will. M says that Tacho will never sell out Epig or Carlos. Hector says that M cannot be sure of that. M says he is and that it will all end up on Tacho. Hector says that hopefully it won’t end up like that. That maybe not right now, but…M admits to Hector that they made up an entire backstory for Tacho to make him look like the only one responsible. Hector seems to think that this all was Miguels doing because he asks him if this is the price he has to pay from saving Miguels butt. Miguel tells Hector to not be naive. Hector says that he isn’t naive, and that M is just like them if he is willing to cover for their lie. Hector says he doesn’t know why he even warned Miguel. And finally kicks him out of his offices. I think that Hector just wants to group Miguel in with the rest. And Miguel will not divulge what he is really trying to do. The problem between them is not that they don’t want to help each other, but rather that they speak their own language and Hector is black and white, while Miguel lives in the gray area of means to an end. I think that if he could trust Hector to tell him his plan for the long run, Hector might see that M isn’t trying to let them get away with everything, rather let them sink themselves while he figures out a way to get them all out of the pit without losing his money or life. He isn’t like Hector who is willing to risk it all.
In Miami, Howard Toledo, Mr. Perv himself, is meeting with an IT guy about Miguel. How is he even still working on this case? How does he have money to spend on it? Howard claims that after the bomb, he is sure that Miguel is going to have a fortress around his company. The IT guy tells Howard that after what happened, anyone would do the same. Howard wants the guy to try and hack Miguel’s system. That he brought him because he is the best and can he or not. The guy is up for the challenge and asks for his desk.
Adela is watching “Los Salvadores de Vidas,” a movie on her laptop when Miguel enters and asks if he is interrupting. They talk a little bit about the movie, Miguel sarcastic when Adela tells him about the plot. The first time I watched this it seemed unimportant. But as with almost everything in the show, it popped up later, so I thought to put attention on it here. Miguel tells Adela that he came to say goodbye when she asks him if he wants to watch it with her. That he is going to Miami, that he needs to think and he has some business to attend to. Adela says ‘oh, that’s what call it now.” a little under her breath, he asks what, and that is when Adela drops the million dollar question, “can I ask you a question, on this trip are you going to sleep with other women?” And Miguel, I guess I can give him a little credit for being honest but still kind of a jackass either way, it was a no win question, a lie or a unpalatable truth, says, “Probably, yes.” Adela says “madres, this is what I get for asking dumb questions.” I love the word madre, cause depending on the tone, can mean practically anything. Miguel goes into his whole spiel “I know what you think, but it isn’t important to me, it is just empty sex.” She asks him why he doesn’t just eat chocolate to kill the craving. He says that he will keep it in mind. She asks him if she can ask him another question, he answers, we are already doing that. She asks if he is going to think of her to which he answers again, “probably, yes.” I think a better interpretation, would be, “Yes, it is likely.” Probably, yes, just sounds a little odd to the ear. Or we would just say, probably, with out the yes, it being understood. Back on track, Adela asks Miguel how long he is going to run from his feelings, to which he runs, saying he has to go.
Hector is meeting with Edna about his conversation with Miguel, and asking how can things happen like this when you know they are not true. She gives him the sad truth. It is all we have. Tacho is in prison and she has to close the case. She tells him her hands are tied. Hector argues that Tacho isn’t an independent contractor, that he is the right hand of Epig, that anyone from CJ confirm that. Edna tells him that the official record says something else and that she can’t do anything. He tells her that the official report has been manipulated by Carlos Duarte. He asks her if that is all she is going to do. She says she will keep investigating but cannot do much without proof. That he should be happy that the man who shot his sister is behind bars. He tells her that that is not enough for him.
On Miguel's way out of town, he runs into Chisca and Val in the foyer. Val invites himself to go with Miguel to Miami, Chisca tells him she will kill him. Then M tells Val that he is interested in meeting with his Italian contacts in Spain, to set up the meeting. They will go when he returns from Miami and he will take a sample of Efilina for them to try. He tells Ishiro to take charge of the security of all of them and to call him if anything comes up. Ishiro is giving killer looks at Val the whole time.
In Miami, at Howards office, the hacker is working and annoyed by the loud music Howard is playing. He has been unsuccessful in hacking Miguel’s system. Jeremias goes into Howards office and tells him that Miguel is in Miami.
Miguel is meeting with his lawyer friend Edgar Sanchez Morris (I think…correct me if I am wrong). Edgar is showing M the tape of Mr. Howard’s sexcapades in all of its cuckold perversion. Miguel tells him to hold onto it for when they need it. Edgar then tells Miguel not to get mad but that he invited Karina over. That she wouldn’t forgive him if she found out Miguel was in town and he didn’t tell her. Karina enters, “long time no see, blah blah blah” crossing of eternally long legs and then tells Miguel that she has a business opportunity for him with an actress friend of hers. Her friend Vanessa wants to meet Miguel and that it would benefit them all. The event is that afternoon.
Hector is at home having the same conversation with Ana that he already had with both Miguel and Edna. It isn’t good enough that Tacho is behind bars. He wants them all to pay. Ana states…”you want to end corruption in Mexico?” to which Hector agrees and she pours the ice bucket on him “well you can’t.” Ana has had too much and packs up her belongings. She wants to be with her daughter and he is on a road that has no foreseeable end. She tells him that what he wants doesn’t exist, it isn’t possible. Didn’t she just insist she wanted to stay with him like two days ago? Anyway…everyone sees the writing on the wall except Hector. Epig and Carlos have their asses covered and are not going to prison or die, at least not for another 35 episodes or so, I imagine.
Miguel and Karina are at the party for Vanessa Montes, played by our lovely Mexicana, Alejandra Espinoza. They are introduced and Vanessa says she doesn’t have time to talk business at the moment, but enjoy the party.
At Garza Manor, Z shows up for a meeting with Dora. He asks when they are going to get back to business, that he has hundreds of trucks sitting. Dora tells him that they have to wait until Miguel says. He asks where Miguel is at. Dora tells him that he left the city for business. Zaragoza says that it appears that Miguel’s business in Ciudad Jimenez are not interesting enough to him. Z has a new business opportunity with an American named Jackson. It would be transport to Nevada from CJ via air. They would need small planes. He said the client is in a hurry. Dora says lets do business, Z ask about Miguel, Dora says she will take charge and not to worry about Miguel.
Back in Miami Edgar, Karina, and Miguel are making small talk. Edgar excuses himself and Karina asks M if he brought the chauffeur. Miguel tells her that Adela is no longer his chauffeur, and Karina asks what is she to you then. Miguel answers that in the tone of this meeting, he would prefer to not talk about his private life. At that moment Vanessa arrives and says that if she has another drink she won’t be able to talk about business, so can they meet now.
They enter the house and take a seat and Miguel comments that the cinematic industry must be very lucrative based on her home. Vanessa answers that she owes her home, the champagne they are drinking, and the dress she is wearing to her work in movies. Karina says that that is why they are there. Vanessa asks Miguel if he has ever heard of the movie “Salvadores de Vida.” (Remember the movie Adela was watching. To which Miguel answers, “of course, who hasn’t.” (Although his knowledge of the movie was making fun of Adela watching it and that he knew almost nothing else but played along well). Vanessa turns to Karina and tells her that she just lost their bet. Karina answers that it is unbelievable (referring to the fact that Miguel knew about the movie.)
Dora takes Z on a tour of the offices, he comments that they are exactly the same as the ones in CJ. Dora laughs and says that she prefers things the old way. Trejo leads them to Jimena. Flaco starts asking questions about who is Z, who is the cowboy, did he lose his calf? Trejo says an old partner of the grandfather. Flaco puts together 2 and 2, the guy from the ephedrine. Trejo confirms. Flaco asks why he is there. Trejo says to resolve an issue in CJ. Flaco asks what issues. Trejo says in a fed up with the questions tone, I don’t know, why don’t you ask him. Flaco claims that he is just worried about the security of the place. That they have an iris reader, a lot of cameras, but keep letting anyone in. Trejo just leaves.
In Miami, Vanessa is giving Miguel the lowdown on the situation. She was the protagonist along with her ex husband Armando Ruiz. Miguels says that he understands there is going to be a sequel and Karina explains that it won’t include Vanessa. Vanessa says that Armando got involved with a two-bit actress, Mariloli and that he convinced the production company to make the sequel without her participation. Sunny the production company, terminated her contract and gave it to the other actress. Vanessa tells Miguel that they made a fool of her, her ex husband took everything from her. The movie is supposed to be a box office hit, everyone is waiting for it to hit theaters. Karina tells Miguel that he could help get revenge for Vanessa and make a lot of money in the process. Miguel says he will think about it.
Hector and Ana are still arguing in their apartment. Ana tells Hector that she knows he isn’t going to change his mind and that she is tired. That they will be waiting for him. She tells him to find the way to finish with all of this and be able to live with them. They separate, at least on decent terms. But until Hector feels that the people responsible pay, he isn’t going to be satisfied, or safe.
Jimena is walking out of her office with Zaragoza and Dora, telling them that she will talk to Miguel about getting the planes.Dora tells her to get it done as soon as possible. Zaragoza says they need an answer and fast. Jimena tells them to count on it. Kenia asks who they are and Jimena and her exit for a chat.
Adela is out on her bed when the cell rings. She sees who is calling on straightens herself out a bit before answering the video call. It is Miguel. Of course Adela can’t just let the call come in without a comment, so she says, “look who it is, already in bed, so early. Weren’t you going to go out?” Of course, referring to the conversation they had before he left. He tells her that he had an event all afternoon and he is tired. And Adela takes it as his ‘event’ was what they had talked about so she says, “man, I don’t know why I even keep asking.” But Miguel, as usual plows forward, neither confirming nor denying, just staying the path, to tell her what he did in the afternoon. “You will never guess where I was this afternoon.” To which Adela says, “do I really want to know?” Miguel answers, “I was in the house of the Salvadora de Vida.” And of course Adela has a fit. “WHAT? Without me? I’m gonna kill you.” Miguel tells her that he missed her there because he didn’t have much to talk about regarding the movie. Adela tells him that he doesn’t even know…she knows the entire movie by heart….that she cried a river when she almost lost a leg...if Vanessa really did the shark scene or if it was a stunt double? Miguel says he has no idea. Adela asks, “well then what did you go for?” He reminds her how she had told him she was waiting for the sequel. Adela confirms that she can’t wait. Miguel asks, “even if it with a different actress.” Adela asks him to slow down and explain. Miguel explains the situation Vanessa is in and Adela comments on that must be why the media has been so tight lipped about the whole thing. He asks if she would still see it. She says of course, it’s gonna be a hit. Her and grandma already have the popcorn made in anticipation. He asks her what she thinks of Vanessa and Adela says she is intelligent, talented, funny, beautiful. Then Adela says something akin to “a lot like me.” I am not sure of the exact translation of “haz de cuenta, yo.” I kind of took it as her asking Miguel, “you know, like me.” But if someone knows that phrasing, help me out. Haven’t heard it used like that. Miguel answers, “of course.” Adela asks Miguel if Vanessa is as pretty in person or if it is all the production. That she knows they make them up a lot, that once she saw an artist and she was prettier on tv. She goes on, asking if she is short or tall. That she looks tall, but she bets she is short. Miguel just smiles and laughs at all her rambling. In the middle of it, we see him refuse a call from Jimena. Then we see Jimena trying to call and getting the out of area message.
Ok, so in all honesty, I don’t hate the scenes with Chisca and Ishiro as much as her alone or her with V. She seems a lot more human, and less spoiled brat with Ishiro. So it is the next day and she approaches him telling him that someone forgot to congratulate her for her upcoming wedding. Ishiro says , congrats. She tells him “you say it just like that, with that face?” He asks “what face.” She tells him that he seemed much happier when they were getting married (faking it while looking at the hotel). He says he doesn’t understand. Chisca says she does, that Shiro is jealous. He tells her that his name is not Shiro. Chisca tells him that Shiro is a nickname, it is a cariño (term of endearment), stubborn. He repeats, my name is Ishiro. She explains that in Mexico, when you like someone or you earn their affection, you give them a nickname. Does he understand. He asks her if he earned her affection and she says, a little uncomfortably, “yeah, I like you.” He asks what is the nickname for Chisca, she tells him that is the thing, he has to make one up. He comes up with Chichi, which obviously in Spanish is pretty much boob. Chisca tells him no, that won’t work, later she will explain better about nicknames. he says it is pretty, she tells him it is not pretty. The whole time they are talking Chisca has her arm in Irshiro’s and at the end of the scene, we see Valentin looking on very pissed off.
The next morning Miguel calls Jimena back. She tells him about the visit of Dora and Z and the planes.
Chisca is back with V. She is telling him the places she would like to visit. The landscapes of Switzerland, they could rent a house. V has a look of complete boredom on his face as she talks. He says it wouldn’t be a bad idea to go to a restaurant close by, that he is starving. She gets up and says sorry, time passes when she is with him, to which he casually throws in, and then when we are done, we can go and see the remodeled offices of Miguel. Right then Ishiro walks in. Remember Miguel left him in charge of her security. She seems to be cooperating after everything that went down. She tells him they are going to eat and then to see Miguel’s offices. Ishiro tells her that going to the offices isn’t possible today. She says, oh no…another day then. Her tone makes it obvious that she didn’t want to go. V speaks up then and says, since when do we need your permission, talking to Ishiro. Getting all confrontational. Ishiro answers that they are doing a revision of the security system. V says “and…?” Chisca tells V to not take it out on I, he is only following Miguels orders, and you know how Miguel is. V asks Chisca if she is going to defend this “guy” but derogatory. Ishiro states, my name is Ishiro. V says, I don’t care what your name is, I am Miguel’s best friend, and I want to go to his office. At this point he comes to stand face to face with Ishiro, which is hilarious, cause he looks like a Chihuahua trying to stare down a Great Dane. I also had to laugh, cause she says oficina with the Spanish inflection which make it sound like a kid lisping. Ishiro stares him down and says, “today it is not possible.” Chisca jumps between them now because things don’t look good. Although, we all know that Ishiro could kick V’s ass in a second. But she says, lets go eat, and then we will see what happens. She gives V a wink, so I feel like they are going to try and go to the offices anyways, but it takes her a little effort to stop the posturing that is going on between Ishiro and V. She has to pull his attention down to her.
Jimena is meeting with the team, giving them the specs for the planes, they need three planes, to be small, light, like a Cesna. They should be able to land anywhere and not necessarily a runway. They need to be able to be modified to fly for up to six hours on autopilot and carry 300kg of cargo. They can’t buy them at the same place. They are going to buy them from different companies. They will buy them under the company Aventura SA. They will be delivered to Ciudad Jimenez and Zaragoza will get them the exact location later.
We are back with Edna and Gary. She is telling him that the mole should be getting them information that will help them take down Naga Company and Miguel Garza. They are talking about the mole and how the information they have gotten so far has been useful but it hasn’t been enough. She tells Gary that he has to pressure the infiltrator more. They need convincing evidence. Gary says he will work on it. She asks if he is sure they will give them relevant information. He says no, but it is all they have for now.
In Miami, Edgar is meeting with another man, by the accent another Cuban guy, he is talking on the phone saying to send him the proposal to analyze it and if it closes, then we will buy it. Edgar asks him what he is going to buy, and he says nothing, but that now Miguel wants to buy a Movie Production Company. One of those companies that is supposedly going to be listed for sale, its a lie, they need cash to pay their debts. Edgar tells him there are many others. They talk about a paper that is missing, the mortgage on the house of Vanessa. That when the debtor is undercover, one can earn more money. The guy answers that it is a tremendous game. This is all a bit convoluted. But what I take away is that Miguel wants to buy a production company that is in financial straights so that he can use it as another of his companies to launder money, but at the same time have a legitimate front to somehow get the revenge for Vanessa, and walk away with the money made on the sequel to the movie. He would just need to obtain the rights. If he does that then Sunny’s contract with the actors would be void. Also, somehow buy up the debt so that he can squeeze, sounds kind of like a hostile takeover, where someone buys the debt of a company and then calls in all the loans at once, forcing the company to sell to not bankrupt the partners.
Val and Chisca are walking and Val is on Chisca about this being the drug that is going to change the world. Chisca says she didn’t say that, those were Miguel’s words. He is complaining that he can’t see the offices, he can’t see the labs and what is wrong with him knowing what is going on in the family (guessing cause Jorge kicked him out of the room last episode). He confronts Chisca with, oh, now Miguels business is your business. To which she says yes, he turns on the syrup about how he only wants what is best for them, for their family, which is now her family, because they are getting married, and all the BS she always believes. He pushes her against a gate while they are kissing and she is surprised that it is open. They go into where the lab was and it is completely cleaned out. Nothing left. Val starts ranting a bit, angry, but then tries to play it off that he isn’t angry at her. But he is like how doesn’t everything just disappear overnight. But he is making her feel bad by manipulating her.
Back with the Cuban guy, Samuel McGregor, finally they say his name, I couldn’t remember. He is in a restaurant waiting when he sees Armando walk in, he apparently has a meeting with him. This man is Armando Ruiz, ex husband of Vanessa Montes. Samuel says he represents Prima ( I think they call it Prisma later, so might be his accent) Productions. Armando immediately gets up to leave, he says I am the star of Sunny, what do I want to do with a production company that is bankrupt. Samuel explains that the company has been bought (I guess the deal went through) and that they are under new ownership, and that they are willing to invest a lot of money and they want him to be the star of their next movie. Armando tells S to have them invest in someone else, he isn’t interested. S tells A that he was sent to offer A double what they are paying him at Sunny and that if he wants he can pick his own co star. Armando says that they just launched Salvadores De Vida 2 and that he has already signed the contract for #3. He tells Sam to tell his boss that he will never be able to offer more than that number. Sam gives him his card and tells him to think about it. I am interested here to see how this whole thing plays out for Miguel. How he plans to undermine the production to help Vanessa get her revenge.
In CDMX, Jimena walks in asking Jorge if he got the planes. He tells her yes, that in fact he was looking for her to tell her. Jimena says, that she had to go out for a minute. Here we are getting another round of where everyone is at when the drop of info happens. Jimena has no alibi. Jimena tells Jorge to tell Trejo and Jorge says, he isn’t here. Then she asks, and everyone else? Seems like the whole office is MIA. All of the suspicious ones. Flaco said he was going to the dentist and Kenia went to the store and should be right back.
The we see the drop happening in the locker, heavy coat, gloved hand. Who is it?
Jimena says that all of the mice go out to play when the cat is away.
We see Gary picking up the evidence from the locker and taking it to Edna. It is the details about the planes and the name of Zaragoza. Light planes with 300 kg worth of weight capacity. They confirm that Zaragoza was the name of the person who was on the call they bugged. Edna is happy and tells Gary he is going great work with the mole.
Flaco gets off the phone with Miguel and the team gets to work. Jimena says that it is the moment to download the content of Sunny Productions. They are in their system. It seems like a hack. They are illegally downloading the content, I am guessing all the movies. Probably to post them online, which means a large loss of money. Or he is after the actual Salvadores de Vida 2 files. We will see. Flaco says, Troy will Burn.
Karina and Vanessa are together at Vanessa’s house. Karina tells Vanessa that Miguel sent papers for her to sign. Vanessa said she would have liked to see Miguel. Karina, says wouldn’t we all. Karina tells Vanessa to relax. She is about to star in her first movie for Prisma Productions. (Cuban accents often drop the S, so I think it was always Prisma, not Prima). Vanessa says she is going to do the best acting of her life as she signs the papers and then asks for champagne. They toast. There was something a little odd on Karina’s face after she drank the champagne. I wasn’t sure if I am seeing things or it was not good champagne. Edgar had made a joke at the party of Vanessa earlier in the episode that you should always drink your hosts champagne before doing business because you would know whether or not they are cheap.
Jimena is in the office talking with Trejo, he says that they have the planes. They are now property of Aventur. He tells her to look at the planes, she says good work, she will let Miguel know.
At Howard’s office, the hacker he hired at the top of the episode says that he has one foot in Miguel's system. Howard is all happy that they are in. The hacker says they are barely inside the armor. That they need to manage the system like a test of bullets. That they have to step carefully so that they are not noticed. He says it is a small victory, that they don’t have much. Howard says that they will have it. The screen I saw looked like the one they usually have on the large display of the stock market.
Howard is taking is wife out to dinner. She asks what they are celebrating. He tells her a lot, they are celebrating a lot. His wife tells Howard that he never ceases to surprise her. Then Howard walks up on Vanessa, Karina, and Miguel having dinner on an ocean front terrace. He thinks he is surprising Miguel. He even asks, “doesn’t it surprise you to see me here?” To which Miguel answers, not really. The world is a handkerchief, surely this is a coincidence. Howard answers, “or a reminder that I am watching you.” Miguel very nonchalantly tells him, “if that makes you feel better, go ahead.” Howard doesn’t like Miguels flippancy and tells him “the one who is not going to be at peace is you.” Karina just keeps her head down the entire time. Miguel asks Howard “what is this all about. Why don’t you have a seat and we can discuss this openly.” Howard’s wife says no thank you, good night. Howard finally agrees and bids them good night and walks away. Vanessa asks Miguel, who is that, to which Miguel answers, no one.
Later that night, Howard and his wife enter their home. His wife says that it was a strange start to their outing and why does he have to drag her along to his things. Howard says, lets just go to bed. A knock at the door is a man. The man says good evening, Señor Howard, Señora Nora, I have come to accompany you so that we have a good time. The three of us together. Nora tells Howard how mischievous he is and then Howard asks Nora if she called him. At this point the man interrupts and says that el Señor Miguel Garza sent him. Howard butts his head against the wall, realizing that the gig is up. And his wife actually looks at the ground a little ashamed. Howard thought he had Miguel on the ropes, not realizing that Miguel had the knockout punch cocked the entire time.
Well my friends, finally this episode is over, it seemed like it was the one that never ended. See you next Friday.

Chisca and Ishiro are so cute together, but I just know she'll do something to foul this up. Ishiro, you deserve better but it seems like you're smitten.
Another cute scene, only in a tart way, was Howard Toledo's wife's delight when she thought the new hunk at the door was a surprise gift from her husband, until the hunk says the name "Miguel Garza." Mig, cleverly done "gotcha!"
At this point, I am getting very confused with all the characters and plotlines in this tale.
It does seem that Ishiro has become Chichi's protector ( ha...even I knew what Chichi means in Spanish since we had a popular restaurant by that name ). So it seems that Ishiro unwittingly choose a most fitting nickname for Chi. It made me think of nicknames of people I knew growing up..Cookie, Flip , Kosh( short for cow sh*t), Popeye, Hook , Crow, Truck, Chico, Monk, etc. ,I like the way he stands up to little Value. The writers seem to be pointing the way to the redemption of obnoxious Chi by introducing Ishiro as her ssvior.
And now, Mig wants to get into the movie biz, so more gorgeous women who want him. Everything about this show is about the shallowness of life. ...sex , drugs, and not rock and roll .. but the movies. Lovely
Niecie, ITA about Chiscass and Ishiro...cute but Ishiro deserves so much better. Well, I am fluent in Spanish (or so I thought) but I had never known that particular definition for "Chichi" and I won't share what I have known it to mean (wink).
Susanlynn, "Everything about this show is about the shallowness of life. ...sex , drugs, and not rock and roll .. but the movies." DITTOOO!!
Not much to add, since everything was covered so completely. So, the identity of the mole is the only thing I have to muse on. The owner of the gloved hand seemed to be dressed in fatigues. Did anyone notice that? I don't think Trejo would ever stoop that low. He's a sharp dresser (a little more on the casual side that Miggy) and cares about the way he looks. I'm trying to remember who else was sitting around the table discussing the planes. Was Dora there? I would eliminate her. She wants to be back in business asap. Being a traitor would be too complicated for Jorge, even though comparison shopping on line for light planes isn't. Jimena has had some practice dabbling on the dark side and Kenia's backstory is still a mystery. I'm narrowing it down to the two of them. It can't be Victor anymore. I wonder if we've seen the last of him.
For just a hot minute, I enjoyed the repartee between Chichi and Shiro-Lurch. He's obviously a man without much experience and Chichi has had too much. Really a mis-matched pair.
I thought He of Little Value (thanks Susanlynn) looked a little uncomfortable when Mig said he'd like to meet his Italian contacts. I think Mig assumes LV is a big player and has a network in Italy, but as far as we've seen he's only been talking to one guy (Piero) about what LV has to offer in the future.
Loved Susanlynn's "Everything about this show is about the shallowness of life. ...sex , drugs, and not rock and roll .. but the movies."
I actually thought Jimena was looking to hire someone to off Adela. But that still might happen.
