Spirited Away But Fortunately Found Part 1
A responsible parent guards their child’s life as fiercely as if it were their own. They must hover, but not smother. Encourage freedom, yet monitor their every word and motion and always, always be able to account for their whereabouts. It only takes a moment to look away from your child, to drop your hand from his, to focus your attention elsewhere for a split second. Yet, a fully responsible parent cannot mandate or control the actions of every single person within their child’s orbit. While no malicious harm was intended, Brenda taking Santiago was a violation of not only trust, but in today’s world, of common sense. The fear that gripped Ringo and Teresa’s heart was numbing. When Santiago appeared there was but a brief a moment of relief and gratitude. Then, the repercussions began to rain down on Ringo. All the years of his loving care and responsible parenting faded and in their place, there is grave accusation and above all, mistrust. Now his rival is boosting that he can better protect Santiago. The fact that Santiago was “found” by Turco, his arch enemy adds more combustible fuel to the fire.
Santi tells a somber Ringo he was with Brenda.
Diego visits Julia, who knows darn well he was with Guadalupe. He admits it but says he has an explanation. He has the unmitigated gall to call Lupe, put her on speaker and gets her to bald facedly lie to Julia. Julia isn’t buying it despite him asking her to forgive him.
We are spared Diego’s further lie spewing as a hysterical Brenda breaks in, screaming that she took Santi without permission. Julia leads her away as Brenda yells in tears that Ringo will not forgive her. Julia confirms the seriousness of the violation and tells her it was very wrong you took him without permission. Julia looks concerned as Brenda falls apart.
Oso is having another monologue with himself as to who Rafa’s father is. Muttering, he goes off on another tangent. Manuel and Ivan have another loving sibling conversation. Not. Ivan tries to settle things with a check which Manuel promptly rips up. Not interested! Eva arrives and asks what’s wrong? Your problems are involving the whole family she cries. Manuel stubbornly refuses to answer as Eva flounces out, frustrated and upset.
Julia has romantic flashbacks of Ringo as she watches him take his fury out on a punching bag. She hears his conversation with Brenda, whom he angrily brushes off saying he is busy. From one unwanted conversation to the next. Gloria and Turco arrive and announce she is suing Ringo for custody. Gloria of the hideous hairdo smirks. I wonder why she hates Ringo so? He loves his son. Was he not exciting enough – whatever drew her to Turco over him? I digress. Gloria’s attorney is vainly trying to keep things civil. Several scenarios including shared custody were discussed. Santi arrives at the end of the “grown up” confab. He happily accepts Ringo’s love, Gloria’s less so. He shakes Turco’s hand from his head with disdain.
Fully understanding Ringo’s fury, Brenda is hysterical on her balcony, clutching a paper and dramatically falls over the railing, plummeting to the pavement. Luckily, foolish (and delusional) Alejo had arrived with flowers and is there to catch her. He comforts Brenda with a hug.
Julia and Rosa have several conversations about Rosa’s illness resulting from her place of employment which I gather are critical to the Llorente storyline but I could not follow this – I apologize.

Spirited Away But Fortunately Found Part 2
Oso confronts Sandra wanting to know who Rafa’s father is. Rafa arrives but I guess this secret is going to the grave. Why? I’m not sure. Damasio observes and seemingly understands.
Ringo summons Alejo from his “meeting”.
Guachin fawns a bit over Rosa while she fawns a bit over Rafa. Guachin daydreams he and Rosa celebrating her victory in the ring. Together.
Oso tells Rafa his mother was the love of his life but they were separated. Who is your father? Rafa ain’t talking. Oso jumps to another wrong conclusion and Rafa can hardly keep a straight face.
Diego and Lupe are on a job site but neither are working. You’re attractive but I love Julia Diego states. Lupe looks like she isn’t giving up and oily Diego eats it up.
Ringo and Alejo passionately dissect the situation, unaware Santi is there. Alejo rightly says Santi was Ringo’s responsibility to watch him. The verbal sparring ends when they realize he is there. Santi does not want to live with his mother. He wants to be with Ringo and tells him to fight for him. On his motorcycle, Ringo recalls those words.
Julia gets a threatening phone call. She calls Diego asking to talk to Lupe. She tells Lupe she knows it was her father. He’s a criminal she tells Diego.
Manuel is reaming someone out.
Oso gives Rosa pointers as she and Guachin act out the fight sequence.
Damasio reports to Oso. He sweet talked Ivan’s maid and gained entrance to his house. He snuck around, overhearing and of course completely misinterpreting Ivan and Susana’s conversation, coming to the erroneous conclusion they are lovers. Oh, and that Rafa is Ivan’s son. Oso’s mind, already in overdrive is accelerating to process this faux news…
At the dance studio, Ringo dissolves in tears as he confides in Julia. She tries to buoy his spirits telling him to be strong, be positive. We see another flashback to Ringo and Turco’s last fight and the knockout punch drawing a pool of blood… Ringo pours his heart out, about Gloria and Santi. Julia envelops him a hug. Tears, fears and a very uncertain future now await Ringo. He needs to corral his strength, infuse himself with determination and forge ahead. He has no choice.
Diana
In retrospect, Gloria wanting full custody was not unexpected in view of Santi's being whisked away by Brenda.
If anyone can help fill in the Julia/Rosa conversation, that would be very helpful and appreciated. I gather Manuel feels Ivan cheated him, but not sure how. And was there anything important in Julia and Ringo's last conversation?
Long day. Sleep well all - look forward to reading your always astute comments tomorrow.
Diana
Julia told Rosa that she had the test results which confirmed that she was contaminated by the chemicals in the factory…she has high levels of hexavalent chromium in her blood; they had caught it early so Julia will be giving her a treatment. She also suggested that Rosa quit her job, but Rosa can’t because she has to send money for her daughter. In Julia’s office, Julia told Rosa that she was treating several of the factory workers who had the same symptoms. When Rosa commented that she would go tell her boss, Julia explained that she and Eva had already gone to talk to Llorente and given him suggestions as to how to fix the problem, but he has refused to do anything. The only way Julia can do anything is if one of the workers files a report against the company. She asked Rosa if she would be the one to report the company, but Rosa refused to do so. Later, Eva called Julia and told her that she had finally gotten approval to send an inspector to the factory. Julia replied that she still hadn’t found anyone who would agree to file a report.
"Manuel is reaming someone out." This scene didn't make sense to me; maybe it will have some type of bearing on the story later on. Manuel was chastising Maximo (who works for him as an attorney) for not mentioning that he had been studying to be a priest. Maximo explained that he didn't think it was important since he left the seminary because he felt it was not his calling after all.
Just a tidbit about Damasio: he is friends with Elsita who works for Garay as a cook...and who Damacio "visits" 2-3 times per week. had to laugh at that!
Manuel is angry at Ivan because Ivan took advantage of his ill sister (Manuel's wife) and got her to sell her share of the beer company to him. Manuel refuses to sign the document that will allow Ivan to place the company in the stock exchange.
In the last scene with Julia, Ringo shared that when he married Gloria, he was a successful boxer, a champion, and he had a lot of money, but on the night of his fight with Turco, before the fight, his mother told him that his brother had just died. When he went into the ring, he was very distracted. He kept thinking of his brother and would see him everywhere. After he lost to Turco, he lost everything. Not too much later, Gloria left him for Turco and they were gone for two years; Gloria never cared about leaving Santi behind.
Bottomline--Gloria is a golddigger.
Thank you for all the important details Rgv Chick and written so perfectly too! Hexavalent chromium - shades of Erin Brockovich. I would never, ever have figured that out :)
Ringo has several ghosts to exorcise. Some who have passed such as his brother, others who live - Gloria and Turco. So Gloria left for 2 years - poor Santiago. And thank you for clarifying the decision was to give shared custody. It's only a matter of time until Santiago becomes more of a nuisance to Turco and heaven knows what he really means to Gloria.
Rosa is afraid to "squeal" and rightly so.
Admittedly, I sort of rolled my eyes at Jose Ron playing the title role. Not that I don't like him. I do - but we've seen a lot of him lately. But, we've seen a lot more, especially in the modeling studio. I'm not complaining. Seriously, he has been very, very good here and certainly deserving of the role.
Rgv Chick, you are a life saver. Gracias amiga.
Diana
Thank you, RgvChick, for “hexavalent chromium”. I got the chromium part but that was it. This is a valuable PSA in today’s world since EVERYTHING comes down to making $$$at whatever the cost. So, now, Julia is in danger for getting someone to inspect the factory. Will Rosa become that person of standing to file the lawsuit? I somehow think so if this storyline is to have any legs or will the threat to Julia be enough? Damasio had me laughing, too.
The corniest ever but most heartbreaking scene: Santi telling Ringo he is a fighter, so, fight for him! To think it all happened because nobody has reined in nutty Brenda. She deserves to end up with Diego. : )
I admit that I have not paid much attention to the Manuel/Máximo subplot.
The writers still have poor Oso acting the fool. Will Rosa end my frustration and just blurt the truth out already?
The hour went quickly.
Jarifa, thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it.
I'm thinking that perhaps there might be a catalyst that gets Rosa to change her mind. Perhaps one of the other employees getting gravely ill? And I give Julia credit. She got right on the phone and told Lupe she wouldn't be intimidated. Well, let's just hope the verbal threats aren't backed up by any tangible, gruesome ones.
Oso is the fool. Indeed. And I laughingly agree, let's have Rosa put him (and us, especially us) out of our misery :)
Diana
DIANA, We all love your prologues because you put your heart and soul into them--in addition to your writing skills. Each one is a gem. I was particularly struck by this part:
"All the years of his loving care and responsible parenting faded and in their place, there is grave accusation and above all, mistrust. Now his rival is boosting that he can better protect Santiago. The fact that Santiago was “found” by Turco, his arch enemy adds more combustible fuel to the fire."
So true. And so painful.
But speaking of painful, I am terribly annoyed by the continuing, stupid stringing out of the "who's your Daddy" story arc. And find it also implausible and stupid that Sandra would leave Oso without any discussion...and stay away for 20 some years! simply because "things weren't going well at the moment". This part of the story just seems very forced, unfunny and dumb.
Oh and then Gloria and Turco...ugh! But I loved your "Gloria of the hideous hairdo". Yep, they really made sure we'd find her repulsive in every way.
José Ron seems well cast for his role and those muscles are very impressive as he pounds away in training. At least our main couple is attractive and has good chemistry. And our main villain, Diego, is every inch an oily bad guy. No shades of gray in this one!
Thanks Diana. I have always heard that a high percentage of communication is in tone of voice, and the look in one's eye. Even so, I am always amazed at what you are able to understand without background in the language--and how beautifully and skillfully you present it.

Fifteen minutes in:
Police officers came for Ozan. Onder and Nihan ask the head officer why he has to do this now. At the same time, Vildan and Zeynep are with Ozan, asking him to calm down while the officers are leading him out of the hall. The officers are also looking for Emir. Nihan can’t believe this and goes up to Kemal, looking at him to corroborate if he’s behind all this. Kemal is unfazed and tells her that Emir will pay for everything he’s done. Nihan asks “And Ozan is part of that?”
Asu was sent to the file room by Hakki, to retrieve a file. She finds Emir there and they both face each other in the dark. She asks him why he is there. He’s creepily looking at her between files on a shelf and says “I’m your angel of death, sister.” Asu tries to remain calm and watches Emir come up to her and put some papers into his interior blazer pocket. He asks “How is it possible? You’ve been so close. It was you this whole time?” Asu says “Don’t pretend to underestimate me. I know very well what you’re capable of.” Emir gets confident: “And that’s why you’re trembling? It was you the whole one?” Asu confirms that they share the same blood. Emir asks “Why did you never told me anything? Why would you want to be my enemy when we didn’t even know each other?” Asu callously calls him the means to the end, and confesses that she’s trying to get Galip Kozcouglu to pay for taking her mother away. Emir asks if she really will separate him from his father. She has a flashback to her uncle telling her that Galip and Emir are her enemies. Emir breaks her thought and says “You look very scared. I don’t think you’ll actually do away with me. Finish off the guilty one and leave me alone.”
The officers finally take Ozan away. Zeynep tells him “I’m here for you, Ozan.” She then tells Kemal that she has to go with Ozan because he’s her husband. He just looks down at her, trying to hold in his dismay.
Onder asks Nihan to get ahold of Emir. Nihan calls him but he doesn’t answer. She leaves him a message and tells him to hurry up whatever he’s doing because Ozan is being taken by the police. When she hangs up she finds Kemal and asks why he did this. He looks at her without any sympathy and says “You chose your path, now I chose my own. Each to their own, now.”
Emir and Asu continue their conversation. He says “I admit that this is a very impactful moment, but I should have watched you more closely. You were always popping up everywhere.” Asu says “Your arrogance blinded you.” Emir accepts that but turns sinister and says that the joke is over now: “No one will understand why you committed suicide at this moment.” He tries to choke her but Asu hits him when the police suddenly enter the room to detain him. He asks them what they’re doing but doesn’t seem afraid at all. As they get ahold of him, he tells the officer they will regret what they’re doing. Outside the file room, the head officer asks Asu if Emir was threatening her. She tells him otherwise and asks why he’s being detained. The officer simply says she’ll soon find out and leaves her alone. She goes back to the file room to look for clues.
(2)
Emir is being taken outside and he’s still threatening the officers that they will regret doing this to him. Galip walks behind everyone and tells Emir not to do anything right now, to leave it up to the lawyer. Tufan is walking along with Galip and asks Emir what he should do. Emir tells the head officer that whoever did this will pay.
With Emir gone, Galip apologizes to all of the guests for everything that’s happening and claims that it’s all a misunderstanding.
Leyla finds Kemal and he tells her that he won’t let more people die. “This will have a heavy price, Kemal,” she says. Kemal claims that he’s done watching Emir causing harm to everyone and he won’t get away with it anymore.
Asu gets into her car and searches her contacts list. She ends up calling Tufan. She tells him that Hakki betrayed her, and she also asks that when he goes back to her uncle, that he not tell him anything about what’s been happening. She will tell him everything instead, and will figure out afterwards where to look for protection from Emir. Tufan looks stressed.
The Sezins are outside the precinct because the head officer won’t let them into the building. Ozan’s lawyer soon shows up and greets Onder. The officers standing guard let him enter the building after he provides identification. Onder asks if he can see Ozan, but the head officer again refuses to let any of them in: “I’m observing you guys. For the love of a son, you are capable of anything.” Despite Onder’s requests, he refuses to let them see Ozan.
Emir is in the precinct and requests a phone call. He calls Tufan and says “I don’t need a lawyer, I want you to follow Asu Alacahan.” Tufan gets confused, but Emir brushes all of his questions aside and orders him to follow all of Asu’s movements. When he hangs up, Tufan looks even more stressed. Meanwhile, Galip is seen contacting his lawyers.
The Sezins are still outside the precinct. Vildan tells Onder that she’s afraid, wondering how Ozan is doing. Meanwhile Zeynep hides the signed letter back in her purse. She goes up to Tariq, who asks her if she’s ok. She says “Uh huh,” but asks “Do you think Kemal has something to do with this?” Tariq retorts “What do you think?”
(3)
The head officer meets Kemal in the precinct’s garage (or so it seems). Kemal asks “Why did you do it tonight?” He answers his own question “The media, the press, the cameras, everything was there tonight.” Kemal reminds the officer that they had a deal and so far it hasn’t been honored: he asks him not to forget that Ozan is innocent, and that they should go easy on him. The officer leaves and Kemal stands there alone, upset.
Ozan’s attorney comes back outside to speak to Onder. He tells him their son is ok for now, but that he’s aware that the family has a lot of things to tell him. Nihan says “It appears it’s time we tell him everything. Zeynep knows it all too.” Galip interrupts and asks that they wait for Emir’s attorneys first, but Ozan’s attorney reminds everyone that murder is a serious charge. Vildan asks Onder “What are we going to do? Who put forward the evidence?” Onder doesn’t have the answer. At that moment, Zeynep looks at Tufan and he does a double take.
Tariq sees Kemal approach and asks “What did you do? Do you see the damage that you’ve caused?” Kemal doesn’t care and goes up to the Sezins to say “Tell them everything that you know and tell the truth.” Galip demands to know if he’s the one who reported the crime. Vildan says “How could you do this to us?” Nihan tries to calmly ask him to go away now. Galip then tries to hurt Kemal, but doesn’t have any strength when his hands are held down. Kemal reproaches them all for treating him as if he’s the one who committed a crime and yet they choose to stay quiet for Ozan and Emir by not saying anything. He adds that they can’t protect their sons like this. Nihan strongly says “Get out of here Kemal, leave us alone with our problems. You don’t belong here.” Before leaving, Kemal asks Zeynep to take care of herself. Finally walking away from their glares, Kemal says under his breath “And they are still keeping quiet.”
Ozan is biting his nails in the interrogation room. He tells the officer “They lied to me, I was told that the firearm was empty.” The interrogation cuts to Emir, who tells the officers the same thing.
The officer asks them both where Linda is. Emir claims that he doesn’t know, whereas Ozan says he doesn’t want to answer that question.
The officer then asks Emir where Karen is. He claims he doesn’t know. The officer asks if he knew that she was murdered. He confirms that, but says he doesn’t know who did it.
Thank you Judy for your always generous and kind comments.
I wholeheartedly agree that Oso needs to find out the truth. And quickly. The only saving grace in this frustrating storyline is Cesar, whom I love to watch and especially to hear!
Enjoyed your observation that there are "No shades of gray in this one!". And for this recapper with such little understanding of the language, something else I am very grateful for!
Gloria's hair was a style (and colors) popular in the 60's. Which is where it should have stayed. Not attractive then and just painful now. Should be prominently displayed on a "how not to wear your hair" poster. :)

Still outside the precinct, Nihan asks Tufan to follow her. She wants to know if he’s the one who gave Kemal the evidence, under his boss’ orders. Tufan tries to pretend he doesn’t know what she’s talking about, but she cuts him off and says that she knows he works for Emir’s brother, because she was there when Kemal was investigating and received an address from him that had the written letter. Tufan claims that he has nothing to do with this; he doesn’t work for the Kozcouglu sibling nor does he know his identity. Nihan reminds him that Emir will kill him if he finds out that he did this. Tufan says that he didn’t do anything. Nihan finally says “Do not to worry, I know you’re not guilty of this anyway. Kemal did this on purpose.” She walks away from him and goes back to her father.
Kemal goes to visit Zehir at his lair. He requests that he send his men to go watch over his parents and Leyla, but that they remain unseen. Kemal then says that Zeynep got back together with Ozan. Zehir reluctantly says “I cherish Zeynep, but she’s done this before.” Kemal says “This time the reason doesn’t matter.” Zehir adds “Nihan is also there.” Kemal agrees, but says that he knows Emir is keeping close watch on her, from wherever he is. He says “Emir won’t stop, and this whole thing is only just beginning. The investigation will get deeper and they will find out Emir killed more people, including the one that Tariq did.” Zehir asks how will he stop Emir from using his influences. Kemal claims that honesty won’t be able to protect him anymore, once everything is revealed Emir won’t be able to hide or buy someone anymore. Zehir asks “How will you do that?” Kemal responds “I will make people listen. Their consciousness is the only thing that won’t stop anymore.” Zehir goes to prepare tea.

can't say I feel sorry for anyone, not even Nihan.
Still wondering if Hakki cares about Asu at all. And what Zeynep's letter is all about.
AnonFri
Diana. I've watched Erin Brockovich MANY times and didn't make that connection. Very astute of you! Jarifa, I didn't catch the "hexavalent chromium" until I replayed the scene. My enquiring mind just had to know! :-)
Jarifa, "Will Rosa become that person of standing to file the lawsuit?" Interesting question. Maybe when Oso lets her train a bit and she gets more confident she will. I agree with Diana that there will have to be some type of catalyst to give her that push. Julia did warn her that the symptoms could get worse if she continues working there, so maybe that is what will happen.
JudyB, ITA about the "who's your daddy" story arc. Oso may not give anyone a chance to say anything, but by golly, why doesn't someone just blurt it out! Diana, "Rafa can hardly keep a straight face..." I noticed that too! I wonder how many takes it took before he could keep a somewhat straight face.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Cold front just blew into the RGV and the temp dropped 20 degrees in a matter of minutes.
AnonFri, thank you so much for the recap! I missed the first 30 minutes. So from your recap, I gather that Ozan was arrested for Karen's murder or maybe Linda's. Is that right? Sorry, but I couldn't watch this TN from the beginning :-(
And I agree, right now, there aren't any that I can feel sorry for...and everyone is just so gloomy!
Greetings, I am back and back watching.
A bit confused since I've missed some of the machination threads, but the overall themes remain the same. There seems a new coldness between Kemal and Nihan, and depressed Kemal seems more alone than ever up there taking the high road.
Asu and Emir really seems like siblings, so now that secret is out. What is up with Hakki, he served her up to Emir? Emir's arrest was great timing for Asu, but hard to see how she can be protected from him and his henchmen.
Missed some Zeynep stuff, but I've decided to ignore her manipulations for now. Best I can think is that the "pre" nuptial agreement was backdated. Ozan is thick enough to sign anything!
AnonFri, a galaxy of gold stars in ETERNO heaven for all your thoughtful and complete recaps. Greatly appreciated! I admire your smooth writing and how you capture all the subtleties, expressions and motivations to cover it all.
And AnonFri, saw your comment on the William Levy/Kemal elusive resemblance [I've decided it's the eyelashes]. Happy anytime I see my name in the same sentence as WL, so thanks too for that smile!
Saw the announcement "gran fin de temporada" for Dec. 20. Will Uni be showing the third season, and do we know if it will follow right away?
Rgv Chick, I've missed recently but as far as I know, Ozan was arrested for Linda's murder that night 5 plus years ago, the set-up that led to Nihan's being compelled to marry Emir. Karen was there that night too, and was also murdered, but that took place more recently after she started talking to Kemal/Nihan.
Many thanks again, AnonFri!
Clara
Clara, glad to have you back!! Thank you for the backstory; I figured that this was what started all the gloomy mayhem.
Thanks for the page Rgv Chick.
I really enjoyed this episode last night. Poor Kemal, every body is blaming him. Is he and The not so bad looking detective planning some
Traps to stop emir from making every body's life a living hell? Cuz I can
Get on board with that.
I thought ozan would have started seizing before they got to the jail
House. Could what emir said to him have shook him up? He's chicken any ways. Now they'll really blame kemal. Poor kemal, can't win for Loosing. Emir told ozan don't tell them nothing(nada),I understood that much. Yaaaah me I speak spanish, lol.
Now, has emir found out that asu is
His sibling spawn or what? Was he
Threatening her? Hakki wants some body to kill emir and he don't care who does it. He even threw asu under
The bus hoping she'd get scared just enough to do it. Cuz he's a coward. What did mujar see in him? He's no
Better than Galip. Now, Emir has all these people tied up in hell knots
And poor kemal is trying to save them. And they are just ungrateful
Trolls. Including nihan.
Let's see what happens tonight.
Thanks Ms Chick.
PS, I think I got some of this right
If I did I'll read it In the recap.
Thanks, Diana. To quote Rgv Chick, you are spoiling us. I'm loving your prologues and observations. Aside from Oso's (hopefully, momentary) estupideces, this TN is providing rich material for your superb writing. My fave line today: All the years of his loving care and responsible parenting faded and in their place, there is grave accusation and above all, mistrust.
I'm not a parent, but I have seen even the best parent in a brief moment of inattentiveness falter in safeguarding their child. But there's usually a kind friend or relative or even stranger who steps in the breach. Unfortunately for Ringo, Gloria and Turco are vultures looking for any opportunity to pounce. Santi is just a kid, but he had been trained better than to leave with a stranger. Poor Teresa is probably feeling like she's too old to babysit him now.
I first fell for one of Jose Ron's characters when he played the gay boyfriend of Jaime Camill's character in Los Exitosos Perez. It was a smart comedy about the advertising business and Jose Ron's Tomas was effeminate but to me real-like and not a cookie-cutter stereotype. Anyhoo, it's nice to see Jose bringing Ringo to life.
Can't blame Rosa for not going against the company that's her sole source of income. They'd fire her on the spot. Better if Julia could get a class action going where there'd be too many litigants to fire.
Make it look like suicide.
The seziens are actually pist off cuz
This was done in public or they are concerned about ozan? What a messed up clan they are. I don't blame kemal. He
Can't believe they are still staying quiet. They have been in that misery for so long they can't even see theyve been given an out and still won't take it.
And his stupid brother loves wallowing in the misery of these screwed up people do he'll have a job and walk around in a suit like lil brother.
Kemal is concerned about his Lying conniving sister and all she can think about is what she's gonna loose.
Well At least kemal has zehir with him
He'd be alone if he didn't have him.
Nihan is a big disappointment.
Tonight should be very interesting.
The best is yet to come.
"I'm not a parent, but I have seen even the best parent in a brief moment of inattentiveness falter in safeguarding their child". Ahh, Niecie. I always love your insightful observations and thank you for your lovely words. I think we are on the same wavelength as you will see when you read my prologue tonight. I am not a parent (well a parent to a human) either but we draw on our experiences with others as daughters, sisters, friends, as women.
"Unfortunately for Ringo, Gloria and Turco are vultures looking for any opportunity to pounce" was also spot on.
Susanlynn, I so appreciate your sweet sentiments. Comments like yours and the others today fuel my soul and make the time completely worthwhile. Thank you.
Diana
“The Wheels of Justice turn slowly but exceedingly fine” (Longfellow/Von Logau)
Part 1
Character is tested in many ways, none more so than when tragedy strikes. Will the result be destruction or resilience? Weakness or strength. Motivation or devastation. Capitulation or determination. Annihilation or survival.
Much is dependent on those who surround you. Family. Friends. With support, empathy, sympathy and encouragement, much is possible. With love, nothing seems impossible.
Free will and an indomitable spirit are essential. But having someone for whom you are their entire world, who loves without limits, who trusts implicitly and who believes in you can be everything.
Can what was lost be reclaimed? Can the victim become the vanquisher?
Our tale continues.
Ringo, immensely saddened but buoyed by determination, tells the social worker he intends to fight for his son. He is not going to have Santi being shuffled back and forth simply because Gloria has decided to (finally) be a mother. Julia is giving her heartfelt and total support. Thank you Julia he effuses. She is happy to help.
Oso jumps in the ring and encourages Rosa to pummel him into the ground. No, that wasn’t exactly what was said, but she was giving it her all, her well aimed punches hitting their mark, Oso’s gloves, Then, suddenly, she faints. Oso is set to administer mouth to mouth as Rosa rouses. Get an ambulance Oso roars!
Ringo and Julia’s conversation is interrupted by Pepe who is calling her to the ring.
Oily Diego arrives at Ivan’s to ask him to speak to Julia about dropping her investigation into Llorente.
“Ringo” Santiago effusively greets and hugs his father with fervor as Teresa beams her approval.
Rosa is resting on the couch. Julia ministers.
Ringo’s door is darkened when gruesome twosome Gloria and Turco show up. Ringo allows Gloria entrée to Santi but Turco is stopped in his tracks. Turco, who never passes up an opportunity to tantalize, taunts Ringo that when Ringo loses Santi to them, he’ll be as messed up as when his brother died. Ringo reacts but unfortunately there was insufficient time for Ringo to throw him through a window. Also, I’m a bit distracted here as Gloria’s hideous streaks seem toned down tonight. Sorry. I digress – back to the story. Teresa throws them out as Turco gives Ringo a dead, laser like stare. Ringo tells Santi that he wouldn’t be able pay for the school camp but if he really wanted to go, he could accept his mother’s money. Santi said that it the camp wasn’t that important; he’d rather stay and practice with Ringo.

Part 2
Homemade Pepperoni pizza is on the menu tonight. Dough is kneaded and father and son have some fun. Little Santi gives a genuine smile.
Julia checks in on Rosa. Pepe, Guanchin and Oso descend on Julia as she leaves. She assures them Rosa is OK.
Julia arrives home, upset and dismayed to see Ivan’s dinner guests include Llorente, the man who threatened her and his daughter Lupe. She lit into Llorente, asserting she was not going to stop investigating him. She gets right in Diego’s face – there are going to be grave consequences. When her father tells her she was too upset, Julia asked how she was supposed to feel when her father and her boyfriend are on her enemy’s side!
Ringo calls Julia as Brenda listens, hurt mirrored on her face. A dinner invitation is proffered and accepted. Julia arrives, dinner is served and oh, that pizza looks delicious.
In a somewhat random scene, Manuel called Martita, but she didn’t answer. He left a message that since she hasn’t wanted to know anything about him, he feels lost. He needs her and feels all alone. Her silence hurts him. I don’t think we have seen Martita yet and I sense some of Manuel’s scenes are on the cutting room floor.
At another dinner across town, Rosa and Oso are finishing theirs. They smile and toast each other.
Cute scene as Ringo puts Santi to bed.
Julia does dishes! What a catch. Teresa leaves giving the not quite yet lovebirds some privacy. Ringo shows Julia pictures and a very young Santi is adorable. He thanks her again for her help. Julia tells him about the dinner at her house.
Diego pokes his head into Julia’s empty bedroom. Where is she he muses. Right on cue he calls but Julia turns her phone off. Ringo gently moves in for a kiss and as Julia demurs she is saved by Teresa’s unfortunately timed appearance. They bid good night and gentleman Ringo insists on seeing Julia out. He tries again but the spell is a broken and Julia drives off as Ringo smiles. Teresa apologizes and she rightly sees the attraction.
Rafa is playing pool and Sandra calls. They have an argument and he shows up at Oso’s. Rosa is happy. Oso? Not so much. Santi and Rosa smile sweetly if awkwardly. Rafa asks Oso to please train him. Oso agrees only after Rosa intervenes. Rafa then asked if he could spend the night there. Later, Rosa tried to talk Rafa into telling his father the truth.
What is your relationship with Rosa Oso queries. Just friends he says. The next day, Rafa tries to talk to Oso, telling him that his mother wasn’t with anyone other than him. But, the obstinate ass is just not listening so misinterprets and now, Oso thinks that Sandra cheated on someone else so Oso was “the other man.” The next moment, Oso is clutching his arm. A search for pills ensues and suddenly, Oso seems to have made a miraculous, instantaneous recovery.

“The Wheels of Justice turn slowly but exceedingly fine” (Longfellow/Von Logau)
Part 3
Diego is waiting for Julia, being accusatory, turning the tables, making her feel guilty. They argue because Diego doesn’t believe that Llorente threatened her! Idiot… Julia can’t believe he doubts what she says (neither can we) and that he kept quiet. Diego insists that Guadalupe needs to finish their house. As if that wasn’t enough, next, Nightmare Brenda marches up and slaps Julia.
Yet, Ringo and Julia exchange sweet texts.
The next morning, Brenda’s anger is again unabated. “Mentirosa” Brenda spits out, accusing and insulting Julia.
While Julia begins to confide in Ringo, yet another unfortunate instance of bad timing occurs as Diego shows up. He screams at Julia about Ringo as she tells him to calm down, explaining they are just friends and he is having trouble with his son. He is making her choose between her friendship with Ringo or him. On second thought, there is no actual choice to be made, verdad?
Diana
Oh dear. These jampacked episodes without anyone taking a breath are exhausting!
My retelling may have certain scenes out of order or combined with others. Dear patio, your comments and corrections are most welcome.
Thanks to Rgv Chick who provided several important dialog translations.
Good night all.
Diana
Yikes! : By going to court and contesting the shared custody agreement, Ringo is in danger of losing custody of Santi period. He also is going to court WITHOUT a lawyer. IMO not smart. No matter what little Santi wanted, he should have waited until his economic situation was more stable. I hate to think where this is probably going.
If Julia would only realize what a gift Diego is offering her by forcing her to make a choice and walk away before the wedding.
Of course, Julia fit right in with Ringo and his family. Diana, yes! to Julia with the dish towel.
Rosa’s blood pressure dropped but there is no problem with her continuing with her training. She just needed some rest.
Thank goodness she isn’t pregnant.
Funny: Rosa telling Oso that Rafael had boxing “in his blood.” /Oso and Rafael both wondering and asking if the other has something going on with Rosa / Oso telling Rafael that he could share his bed but they’d sleep back to back and if he kicked him, he would be sleeping on the floor.
Brenda is nuts. Julia missed a chance to tell her the truth when she asked if Julia was saying that she was crazy. A real “duh!” moment.
So, Oso can’t get the obvious drift when Rafael tells him that his mother only was with Oso and nobody else? He is now sure his mother had someone else on the side and he Oso was the one she was cheating with. There is some strange reasoning going on in that head. The writers need to do better by the Oso character.
Off to make some coffee!
Thank you so much Jarifa!
Yes, I can't agree more that Julia should have jumped at the chance to sever her engagement to Diego. He has absolutely no character traits that are in the least bit endearing. Completely baffled as to what she saw at all.
I didn't get Rosa telling Rafael "he had boxing in his blood". That really added to the scene!
And definitely, please let Oso smarten up a bit. He hasn't sustained any head injuries (at least ones we are aware of), so clear your head, heed the truth and start a good relationship with your son.
I always appreciate your keen eye Jarifa! Thank you.
Diana
I watch this show in the morning as part of my breakfast treat, Diana, and your recaps and beautiful prologues are dessert! However, I'm concerned that you are exhausting yourself writing this after a long day at work and a long commute. Just sayin'.
Loved the title and especially loved this part of the introduction:
"Much is dependent on those who surround you. Family. Friends. With support, empathy, sympathy and encouragement, much is possible. With love, nothing seems impossible.
Free will and an indomitable spirit are essential. But having someone for whom you are their entire world, who loves without limits, who trusts implicitly and who believes in you can be everything."
You have such a beautiful way of expressing your thoughts, my friend.
I also found this delightful:
Turco, who never passes up an opportunity to tantalize, taunts Ringo that when Ringo loses Santi to them, he’ll be as messed up as when his brother died. Ringo reacts but unfortunately there was insufficient time for Ringo to throw him through a window.
No shades of gray in this one. Turco and Gloria are the ultimate scum and Ringo and Julia sometimes seem too good to be true, but aw heck! who cares? I like to have people I can root for!
The scenes with Osu opening up his small home to not one, but two relative strangers really resonated. My friend from Colombia told me Hispanics are much more open about sharing their homes with people than we Anglo-Saxons. Introversion and the need for some privacy or alone time don't seem to be factors for them, according to her. When they say "mi casa es su casa" they really mean it!
The writers are really stretching out the paternity misunderstanding, but for some reason it did not annoy me as much this time. And of course Cesar Evora is so lovable, he wins you over no matter how ridiculous he is acting. Makes you wonder even more how his former wife? lover? could have left him. Oh well.
I heard heavy snow was predicted for your area again, amiga. Sending good thoughts and warming vibes((((((()))))))))And many many thanks for this delightful recap.
(1)
Tariq’s phone is dying again. Banu asks if things have been resolved yet. Tariq says that nothings been accomplished yet. When she mentions that perhaps the Kozcouglus are finally getting their just desserts, Tariq looks disturbed.
Emir is still being interrogated. He repeats the question back to the head officer regarding who killed Karen. The head officer is done playing games and tells him they know that Linda is buried in a shallow grave: he saw it with his own eyes. The officer gloats and for once Emir looks taken aback.
Zehir tells Kemal that he doesn’t want to disappoint him with the job. He asks if he’s feeling ok, to which Kemal says no. Kemal remembers the first time he showed up there, and Zehir remembers that Nihan had a hard time then too. Kemal curses Emir and says he won’t feel ok again until he frees Nihan and Ozan from Emir. Zehir asks “and what comes after?” Kemal says there’s nothing waiting for him afterwards: “Just an emptiness, and it’s better that it stay that way.” Kemal exits the house and goes to his car as Zehir reflects on the damage Nihan has done to him.
Asu is still in her car, outside her building. She’s trying to hold back the tears and remembers each time her uncle armed her against the Kozcouglus. She takes a deep breath and decides to go upstairs. Hakki gets confused and asks who’s there, surprised to see Asu before him. She asks “Who were you waiting for, uncle?” Asu thinks back to telling Tufan that her uncle won’t find out whether or not Emir knows that she’s the missing sibling. She plans to confront her uncle when she has all of the evidence in place. Tufan concurs that they cannot trust her uncle, and she thanks him. In the present, Asu tells Hakki that Emir and Ozan were taken by the police. He can’t believe that they’ve been taken into custody for Linda’s death. Asu suggests it was Kemal. Hakki wants to know how she found out, and she claims Kemal told her everything. Hakki suddenly pretends to be tired and says “This night, Emir is someone’s victim for the first time, even though he banked on something else entirely. Goodnight Asu.” He goes to sleep and Asu sits back down on the couch, unable to cry as much as she would like.
Emir is alone in the interrogation room, tapping a metal object. He imagines Asu kissing his mother, and he gets very angry. He says he’s sure he will get out of there.
Ozan swears that he never did anything on purpose and would never want to hurt anyone. “Not even by accident?” The head officer asks. He cuts to the chase and tells Ozan that he has an incriminating video of him. “When that video came to me, they told me that you were a victim. Someone put a blood bag into one of the girls. They tricked you. Emir is the one who set you up for Linda’s death.” Ozan starts to have an attack. The head officer steps out and requests that the paramedics be called.
Still outside the precinct, the Sezins are panicking. Nihan tells her father she doesn’t think Ozan will be able to manage this any longer. Soon Ozan is carried out on a stretcher and everyone yells out their support for him. Ozan’s attorney warns them all that they still can’t go with Ozan to the hospital because he’s still in custody. They all don’t care and plan to go anyway, if at least to be waiting out in the hallway. Nihan tells her father she has to do something very important first, to which Onder tells her right now isn’t the right time. She doesn’t care and heads on her way alone.
(2)
Kemal is walking in his patio and finds Leyla. She says she was very worried about him. He asks her to enter the house. They both see Nihan arriving. Leyla asks him to calm down because his fear will turn into anger. Nihan immediately reproaches Kemal because Ozan is now being hospitalized. Kemal says that Ozan will be ok, as will she and Zeynep.
“Are you doing all this to ruin my marriage with Emir, to get me to come back to you?” She asks.
“No. I’m doing this so that you won’t feel guilty when something happens to me, if Emir decides to crash my car. I don’t regret anything I’ve done: you’re the one who’s hidden the death of woman.”
“You know why I did it,” Nihan reminds him.
“For what? In this war you chose to abandon me out of fear. Go have the life that you choose now, I’ve given you back your tranquility. I didn’t betray anyone. Ever. Emir will pay for what he’s done, not just you. Divorce him after, or wait for him to come out of prison, it’ll be pointless by then. But let it be clear: this wasn’t to get you to come back to me. Or are you really here because you want to return?” Kemal starts to tear up and Nihan stares at him, open mouthed. He continues “What did you want to tell me? I can imagine it now...”
She starts to cry and walk away from him but turns back to say: “Pray that nothing happens to Ozan! Pray!” She continues on her way to her car.
Kemal is very affected and sits on the ledge. Leyla comes out and is ready to listen.
“Nihan hates me,” he tells her.
“And you?” She asks.
He gets a little emotional: “I try not to feel anything for her. I don’t want to feel anything but I think about her every morning and try to get rid of her from my mind but she keeps coming back: every morning and every night. It’s pointless, Leyla. It’s always pointless.”
(3)
Asu eavesdrops at her uncle’s door. Not hearing anything, she tiptoes to the safe but finds it open. She slams it closed and goes for her uncle, but finds no one in the room. There’s a letter on the bed: “I’ve told you that we’ll become the victims someday. It’s the truth, it happens to everyone at least once in our lives. Even our parents victimize us. I didn’t want to victimize you, but you were born a victim. This wouldn’t have happened if you had stuck to the plan. I tried to put fear into you so that you would get brave, I gave you the gun so that you would kill your brother, but you didn’t do it. Now you’ve brought too much attention upon us. I don’t think I was unfair with you. I feel that I taught you about life. Your father thought that he possessed your mother’s life. Your brother perhaps was innocent at first, but grew to be just like him. That’s why he’s the means to the end. You’re not like them. They kill whenever they want and however they want. Now I’m leaving with everything we have. You’re not obligated to follow me, either way I’m going to die. You’re alone now. Just don’t forget that you’re the angel of revenge. You can leave the house if you want.”
Asu calls Tufan to tell him that her uncle left and took everything with him. “His plan was for the brothers to confront each other. We’re alone, Tufan,” she says. “You’re not alone, Asu. I’m here with you, I’ll help you. I’ll get those videos for you,” he tries giving her hope. Asu is getting hopeless. Tufan reminds her to go with Kemal, because she shouldn’t stay in that house since Emir could get her at any moment.
Kemal is alone in his home, but sees Asu coming with a duffel bag. “Don’t ask me anything. Would you let me stay?” She asks. He lets her through. She sits down on the couch and he looks at her questioningly, but she says “Not tonight, please.”
Emir paces around in his cell, thinking about how he almost killed Asu. The head officer asks him why he’s mad. Emir says “I only needed two more minutes.” The officer reminds him that he wouldn’t have escaped anyway. Emir is certain that the police don’t have him in their hands yet. “I can collect all my debts in one shot,” Emir says. The officer wants to know what he’s talking about. Emir says “I won’t worry about you, yet.” He requests to be left alone, to conspire again. The officer reminds him that he can’t plan an escape. Emir believes that’s yet to be seen.

At the hospital that night, Zeynep asks Nihan what will happen. “What is meant to happen, I just don’t want anything bad to happen to Ozan” she responds. “What about Emir? What do you want to happen to him? One is your brother, the other your husband. Your situation is tough,” Zeynep says. Nihan looks at her suspicious and wants to know what she means by that. Zeynep says that perhaps Ozan will get a lower sentence, and Emir will remain in prison. “You’re thinking about me?” Nihan asks. “Who else would I be thinking about?” Zeynep asks. “That’s exactly the question,” Nihan sarcastically says. Silence. Nihan continues “That’s what I thought.” She leaves her alone and Zeynep looks very annoyed.
The next morning, Asu sits next to a sleeping Kemal, on the couch. She tries to lay her hand on his face, but doesn’t. She thinks back to telling her uncle that she can’t risk Kemal and Emir finding out her identity. She looks at Kemal a little differently now. He starts to wake up and she says “I was about to wake you up.” He says good morning. She asks if he wants breakfast. He says yes, but that they should do so with his parents.
Yasemin says she can’t believe that Emir is a psychopath. Nihan says this started out as a snowball that quickly turned into an avalanche. She says she’s scared of what she’s capable of doing; despite knowing that the correct thing was to hand over Ozan, she can’t help but be mad at Kemal. Yasemin reminds her that Kemal actually reported Emir, and that Nihan has actually been protecting Emir this whole time instead of her brother. She believes that Kemal is the most honest man she’s ever met in her life. She asks that she go and talk things out with Kemal. Nihan ponders that.
Soon Nihan is driving with Yasemin and stops before Kemal’s house. Yasemin asks if she really will go to speak to him. Nihan decides to go to ask him what exactly he told the police. She goes up to the glass door and knocks. Soon Kemal comes to answer and is unhappy to see her. Nihan demands to know what he told the police. Kemal says he’s only told them what he knows. She asks if he did this to save her. Just then, Asu comes out of the shower with her hair wrapped in a towel and says she’ll be in the room. Nihan gets jealous, tells him to forget about it and starts walking away. Kemal holds her arm and says “You chose to be the victim.” He pauses for a bit, but continues “This isn’t about you anymore. My fight is with Emir.”
Nihan says “I came back in spite of my brother.”
“You think that’s what I wanted?”
“As long as you’re still alive, that’s what you want” she says and leaves.
Kemal stands by the door and thinks about it.

Emir tells his lawyer that he wants to see Nihan. The lawyer replies that that’s impossible. Emir scruffs him and the lawyer offers his phone. Emir then asks why he hasn’t been taken out of jail yet. The attorney responds that he’ll be taken to court tomorrow, and they’ll ask for a trial without an arrest at that time. Emir claims that he should do this now because he needs to go and fix things with certain people who owe him an explanation. The attorney says that Galip wants things done a particular way, to avoid surprises.
Kemal asks Salih if he handed over the incriminating video to the press. Salih confirms and claims that the video is up circulating the internet. He seems happy to be bringing down the Kozcouglus. Kemal says that now it’ll be harder for Emir to hide what he’s done.
Zeynep is still at the hospital in her evening wear. “We should have asked Nihan to bring us clothes,” she says to Onder and Vildan. Onder replies that he had already asked her. Zeynep looks a little grateful. Vildan is busy on her phone and suddenly says she can’t believe what she’s seeing. She shows them the incriminating video. Zeynep is horrified. No one knows how the video was put out there. Vildan says “This is embarrassing. We are done.” “What will we do?” Zeynep asks. “All we can do is calm down,” Onder tells her.
Galip is fuming in his office, angry about the incriminating video. Leyla interrupts him and asks if she can speak with him now. He gives her his attention and she says “I want to leave something clear: Kemal is like my son.”
“Your son made a grave mistake” he retorts.
Leyla reminds Galip that the assassin is Emir, and that there’s more left to be uncovered. Galip starts to look at her suspiciously and asks “This is a trap? Are you recording this conversation?”
Leyla can’t believe what she’s hearing.
Galip continues “Emir is innocent. Kemal manipulated the evidence. All Emir has done is protect his wife.”
Leyla says “Remember that I can be your worst enemy. If something happens to Kemal, I’m coming for you.”
****
Clara! Nice to have you back! I hope you had a nice vacation!
Nina, it seems like Hakki officially betrayed Asu. In the letter it seems like he expected Asu to be the survivor out of the confrontation with Emir, but in the scene when she comes back to the apartment, it’s obvious he thought she was a goner. I still don’t understand his revenge plans, and I guess he’ll come back eventually, since he has the rest of the videos.
Ozan started to panic because he found out Emir set him up? I thought he knew?
Nihan is too stubborn. That’s her downfall. Kemal officially has given her up. Funny that he realized putting the video up in the media was going to help him keep Emir in jail.
AnonFri
Thank you for your support and kind words Judy.
I so enjoyed your story about other cultures being more welcoming and open to strangers. I love that this community shares their experiences so generously.
I learn life's lessons here.
And I was very happy to see that you weren't perturbed at Cesar Evora's character last night! He is a big, loveable (albeit somewhat gruff) teddy bear. When he laughs, I just sit back and savor. It's the small things that bring bits of joy here and there.
And yes, I drove in as the snow started today, long before the first crack of dawn. It will be a(nother) long day and I am very admittedly tired.
Judy, your comments are always a breath of clean, crisp fresh air and sunshine.
Diana
Diana, your prologues are sweet music to my ears and what a glorious sound that is! Thank you for taking time from your ever so busy day to bring us such delight.
“Ringo, immensely saddened but buoyed by determination, tells the social worker he intends to fight for his son.” Now who wouldn’t love his man? Of course those abs would attract the wildest of bees, but a father who loves his son just melts my heart. When Ringo told the social worker that he would go to hearing, he did say he didn’t need a lawyer, but I think he meant that he didn’t need his lawyer to make that specific decision. The SW also asked Gloria and Turco if they wanted to call their lawyer, but they also shook their heads.
“Oily Diego arrives at Ivan’s to ask him to speak to Julia about dropping her investigation into Llorente.” What a butthole! And then he has the gall to tell Julia that he does believe Llorente threatened her. I do hope Julia RUNS!! ..and right into Ringo’s spectacular arms!
Oso, Oso, Oso! Did you get hit in the head too much when you were a boxer? And why doesn’t Rafa just come right out and tell him “YOU ARE MY FATHER!!” JudyB, “The writers are really stretching out the paternity misunderstanding…” If they stretch this too much, I just might snap.
Jarifa, I must agree with your “Funny” comment. At least we have this bit of humor to lighten the darkness.
AnonFri, thank you for your splendid detailed recap. I wasn't able to watch any of the show last night; so I am especially grateful. This tale has so many twists and turns; I'd be totally lost if it weren't for the recaps.
OT..this Friday , the local fire company is dedicating the new fire truck. Hub was on the finance committee. Our fire chief,\ contractor, friend \_pseudoson has been texting me urging me to go to the ceremony to honor hub. He offered to take me and give me a ride in the new truck. I am trying to get the courage to do so. I don't want to fall apart in public.
Rgv Chick, thank you for your wonderful words. "a father who loves his son just melts my heart". Ditto. There is little more appealing (or sexier) is there? But then, there are "those abs" and "those spectacular arms". With Ringo, it's a win/win all the way around :)
Susanlynn, thank you so very much. I hope you take a ride on the new truck - what a lovely honor for your husband. And for you. Your courage is there sweet lady. It's been with you this entire time. Gently summon it and it will emerge. If tears are shed, embrace them and revel in the joy of your wonderful memories.
Diana
Thanks, Diana. Your recap is my afternoon treat. It's tender but funny too. This cracked me up: "Also, I’m a bit distracted here as Gloria’s hideous streaks seem toned down tonight. Sorry. I digress – back to the story.
Julia and Ringo make me smile when they swat away Diego's jealousy with "we're just friends." Who ya'll kidding? Ringo is in Julia's personal space, within kissing distance, and she's all atwitter!
Ringo kneading dough brought back memories of the fabulous baker brothers from Fuego en la Sangre. Ringo looked pretty good, and managed to keep his bright white T spotless.
I keep wondering why Julia and her dad don't do something about Brenda. I'm guessing Brenda's been like this since puberty and they thought she'd grow out of it. Now they've grown too accustomed to it. She's getting worse though.
Susanlynn, sending a hug your way. (((((())))))
Would be so proud watchin his queen in that new truck. And like Anon says, girl embrace those tears and smile big
Do hubby proud.♡♡♡♡♡♡

So glad the tape went viral. Ozan did not know that emir set him up. Up to
That point he thought he killed linda.
It was easy to be convinced cuz he's a boy. He was Cottled all The way into adulthood.
Hakki is a coward. In his sick mind asu was born a victim so he decided to
Use that and Make her kill her psycho brother. To keep his hands clean. Ok Again What did majur see in him?

Work you put into this gem. Thank you.
Thank you Niecie - I truly appreciate your kind words.
From the annals of I wish I'd said that: "Ringo is in Julia's personal space, within kissing distance, and she's all atwitter!" HA! Nailed it :)
It's so funny you mentioned the fabulous baker boyz from FELS. To be honest, I thought about that fleetingly as well. But nobody, and I mean nobody molded dough like Eduardo Yanez. Oh my. Happy sigh.
Diana
You're cracking me up Diana. But you're right. Eduardo Yanez is in a class by himself when it comes to riding rough and ready on bread dough. Whadda guy.
Ep 8, Part 1: Close Encounters of the Dangerous Kind
We start off with Diego giving Julia his ultimatum; unfortunately, Julia does not take advantage of it…she remains speechless.
Brenda goes outside and begs forgiveness from Ringo…she knows she made a big mistake. Ringo doesn’t want to talk about it, and ends up forgiving her (just to shut her up…can’t blame him but he shoulda just walked away). Brenda is ecstatic so she hugs and kisses him. She runs inside to tell Julia that things are back to normal with Ringo. After she apologizes to Julia for jumping to conclusions, she goes on and on about how sweet her talk with Ringo was so sweet. Brenda takes a minute to think of someone other than herself and sees that Julia is upset; so Julia admits that there are problems with Diego.
Ringo calls Julia and tells her that he will try to smooth things over with Diego (whyyyy?), but Julia tells him not to worry about it.
Turco drives up and demands that Ringo allow him in. Ringo calls Ivan who tells him to let Turco in since he is there for their news conference. When Ivan asks if Ringo is ready and that he can’t show up in his uniform, Ringo has no idea what he is talking about.
Once inside, Iva asks Ringo if Oso didn’t tell him about the conference. He reiterates that Ringo can’t be in his uniform and goes to look for more suitable clothes. Meanwhile, Ringo calls Oso who also knows nothing about the news conference but he will be there ASAP.
Manuel is talking to Alejo when Alejo gets the call from Oso about the news conference…he needs to get over there immediately. After Alejo leaves, Maximo enters to talk about a case, but Manuel wants to confess his sins to Max.
Julia is on her way out when she sees Ringo enter the conference area wearing a very nice suit. Julia admires his new luuk and wishes him well as she leaves. After Oso arrives complaining that Ivan didn’t tell him anything about the news conference, Santi calls to let Ringo know that he will be watching him on TV.
Max explains to Manuel that he can’t confess him because he is not a priest, but Manuel insists. Manuel tells Max about Martita whom he met after his wife died. He lost Martita in the worst way. Martita has an identical twin sister named Miriam; and one day Manuel got confused and mixed them up. Max’s jaw drops…Manuel cheated on Martita with her own sister?? Manuel insists that he was confused.
After Alejo arrives at Ivan’s house, the news conference starts. Turco is introduced and he tells the camera man to take a closeup. Ringo is then introduced and Crazy Brenda claps and cheers.
At the club, Julia introduces Eva to Rosa. Eva tries to talk Rosa into reporting the factory, but Rosa still refuses. Eva explains that if they win, the company will have to compensate her. If Rosa doesn’t help others will get sick After Julia assures her that they will help her find another job, Rosa agrees to help.
During the conference, Ringo announces that he is willing to give it his all for his son. When Turco is asked why he is willing to fight Ringo who is not even ranked, Turco explains that his wife has a son with Ringo. He berates Ringo who can’t take care of Santi the way he should be…he wants to fight for his wife and his wife’s son. Turco then addresses Santi and tells him that he not to blame for the father he has… Ringo stands and threatens to split Turco’s face. After Teresa turns off the TV, Gloria tells Tere that Santi needs to see who his father really is, but Santi hopes Ringo beats Turco to a pulp (and so do we!).
Ep 8, Part 2: Close Encounters of the Dangerous Kind
At the conference, the shouting match continues. but Turco manages to get away long enough to answer Gloria’s call. She chides him for what he did since Santi was watching. She demands that Turco go apologize to Ringo and he does so. He explains that this is a just show and acknowledges that he messed up. After Ivan concludes the news conference, Diego thinks this was a disaster, but Ivan is sure it was a success since this will ensure that ticket sales will soar.
Julia and Eva are meeting with an attorney who is telling them that they have enough to make a case. Jacinto, who was eavesdropping, calls Manuel to tell him that Julia already found a witness who is willing to file a report. Manuel tells Jacinto that he should know what he needs to do.
Turco is back home with Gloria who is still chastising him again for what he did since it may affect their chance of getting custody of Santi. Turco will call Santi and apologize again.
Ringo arrives home. Teresa chides him for acting like an animal; boxing brings out the worst in him. She asks that Ringo try to understand her; she doesn’t want to bury the only son she has left. Ringo assures her that nothing will happen to him. He refuses to leave boxing because that is how he will show Santi who he is; he wants Santi to be proud of him and give him the life he deserves. Teresa pleads with him to find somehow else to make a better life. Santi comes out and answers his phone. Turco tells him that he loves him like a son. It hurts him that Santi rejects him…Ringo is to blame for how he behaved. Ringo gets the phone and tells Santi to stop bothering his son. When Turco starts in on Ringo, Ringo hangs up. Gloria is even more upset and chides Turco for talking badly about Ringo to Santi; he won’t be sleeping in her bed (aww, no nookie tonight)!
Eva is working with Julia when she sees the wedding invitations and wonders if things are well between Julia and Diego; she reminds Julia that there is still time to cancel the wedding. Diego enters so Eva leaves. He continues his rant about Ringo and expects an apology from Julia. Since Julia is insisting on continuing her friendship with Ringo then they are OVER. Ivan walks in and Diego repeats his ultimatum. Ivan tells them that if Ringo is causing problems between them, then Ringo will be gone (fired).
Eva tells Ivan that she and Julia will be going to court to submit their request. Ivan hopes its not about Llorente and hopes that Eva will talk Julia out of pursuing the investigation into Llorente. Ivan thinks that Julia is just like Eva’s mother…nothing would stop her. Eva wonders if Ivan really loved her mother (who was his sister). Ivan thinks that Manuel has been putting ideas into Eva’s head. He assures her that did not take advantage of his sister when she signed over her part of the factory. When Eva asks to see the document that her mother signed, Ivan asks that she not go up against him.
Damasio talks to Oso about Sandra; he has come to the conclusion that Rafa’s father is Ivan. When Rafa comes in wanting to talk to Oso, Oso tells Rafa that he knows who his father is…. it’s Ivan Garay. Brenda happens to walk in and overhears.
Diego sees Ringo outside and tells him that he is fired. Ringo asks what the reason is, so Diego replies that they don’t need a reason. Ringo thinks that it all boils down to Diego being jealous (BINGO!). After Diego berates him and tells him to go to hell, he slithers away. Meanwhile, Julia is also outside and meets Rosa. As they cross the street, a car whizzes by, but Ringo has been watching and manages to run and push Julia out of the way. Unfortunately, Rosa receives the hit.
Rafa can’t believe that Oso thinks that Ivan is his father. Brenda adds fuel to the fire when she assumes it might be true since Sandra has been working at the company for many years. Rafa is finally going to tell Oso that he is his father, but they get interrupted when one of the guys runs in to tell them that Rosa has been run over.
Ep 8, Part 3: Close Encounters of the Dangerous Kind
Diego calls Ivan and tells him that he is at the hospital. Someone tried to run Julia down, but she didn’t get hurt. When Ivan tells Eva that a girl was hurt, Eva knows that it must have been Rosa. Julia gets the phone and reminds Ivan that she tried to tell him about Llorente threatening her. After she hangs up, Diego begs forgiveness for not having believed her. Just then, Oso and Ringo approach so Julia asks about Rosa. They haven’t heard anything, so Oso and Julia leave to inquire about her. Ringo stays behind and Diego thanks him for having saved Julia.
Turco goes to see Santi, but Santi tells him to leave. Turco explains that what Santi saw n TV was just a show. And to show Santi how sorry he is, he brought him a present—a motorcycle. Tere can’t believe Turco would buy Santi a motorcycle and tells him to leave…and to take his motorcycle with him.
After Alejo calls Ringo who still has no info on Rosa, Ivan arrives asking for Julia. He appreciates that Ringo was there to save her. When Ringo explains that he happened to be there talking to Diego when he saw the car heading toward Julia, Ivan wonders what Diego was doing there. After Diego tells him that he fired Ringo. Ivan assures Ringo that he still has his job.
Oso and Julia enter to see Rosa. After Julia tells Rosa that she was run down, she tells Oso that they should let Rosa rest, but Oso begs to stay. After Julia leaves, Oso reassures Rosa and promises that he will make her the champion that she wants to be.
Rgv Chick, the title could not have been more fitting! This was sensational - chock full of picture perfect details as well as wise and witty comments. Loved every word.
"Brenda takes a minute to think of someone other than herself and sees that Julia is upset". Wonders never cease, do they?
Miscommunication: “Max’s jaw drops…Manuel cheated on Martita with her own sister?? Manuel insists that he was confused". Oh my. Talk about a storyline that comes crashing through the gate! Now, THIS I cannot wait to see more of.
Lack of Communication: "Ringo calls Oso who also knows nothing about the news conference".
Who says telenovelas don’t mirror real life? 😊 Communication issues all the way around.
Speaking of, “Santi hopes Ringo beats Turco to a pulp (and so do we!)”. Amen to that.
I do find the Turco/Gloria relationship rather fascinating. Turco almost bowing and scraping to apologize and get back in her good graces. Who is this woman with the hideous hair and Cleopatra eyes? Seemingly disdainful of everyone, her loving name for her current husband is "imbecile" (which I gleefully enjoyed). And Turco's purchasing that hot red motorcycle that Santi could barely sit on, let alone ride was proof positive his nickname fits him to a "T".
So is Manuel a good guy?
I'm sorry Rosa was hurt but "Oso reassures Rosa and promises that he will make her the champion that she wants to be" is very encouraging.
What was not encouraging was to have to even look at Diego. He is cringe worthy. When is Julia going to end her (and our misery) and cut this loser loose? Ack.
Last night was a lot of fun which you carried over with your incredible recap Rgv Chick. Thank you, thank you.
Diana
And I meant to add: Who's next in the Rafa's father saga? I think the only one Oso hasn't accused (of age appropriate candidates) is Manuel! Will he be next?
C'mon Rafa. Spill the beans. Please :)
Diana
RgvChick, great recap, title and clever asides. I specially liked (why????). Ringo being the all around nice guy???? is more like him being the all around stupid guy in this case.
Sure enjoyed Gloria getting all over Turco for baiting Ringo in front of his son. I was impressed she at least knew that the motor bike wasn’t appropriate for a Cupid Santi’s age. LOL
It seems they have created the “who’s your daddy? schtick” with Oso and Gabriel. Since that is what it is, I guess it is supposed to be comic relief although the action that ended the “joke” this time was tragic.
Guess we all knew what was coming for Rosa when she finally agreed to file the complaint and Julia and her sister assured her that everything was going to be just fine!!!!! Sure . . . There is always the eavesdropper but then again telenovela characters never really check out the environs to make sure they are alone and cannot be heard.
Diana loved your description of Gloria and her “hideous hair and Cleopatra eyes.” Yes, her relationship w/ Turco is interesting. I never expected the power she showed over him. Her character seemed a bit better last night but who leaves their child for two years? I had to remind myself.
What a great title, RGV CHICK...covered not just the accident, but the smouldering attraction between Ringo and Julia, the crazy imagined relationship of Brenda and Ringo, anything involving Ringo's mom and Gloria, and of course anything involving Turco, Santi and Ringo. Come to think of it, also that weird story about mistaking one identical twin for another.
I find the "humor" in this very odd. Not just the continuing misunderstanding about Oso's hijo, but also the way we are supposed to find the twin sexual mix-up hilarious. Cultural differences again.
Am I misinterpreting or is Oso a little bit in love with Rosa? He keeps calling her "mi vida" which is a term of endearment and seems very attached. Huge age difference but, okay...
DIANA..."Cleopatra eyes"...great description
And have to admit that the odious Diego acted with honesty last night. He gave Ringo credit for saving Julia from harm. And let's face it, he has every reason to feel jealous. Those two are hot for each other. Ms. Julia is not being honest with herself nor with her fiancé.
So actually some shades of gray in this one. Thanks so much RGV CHICK, love your asides and the way you tell a tale.
JudyB, I am seeing Oso’s attention as more as that of a father. Maybe I will be proved wrong . . .
Thank you, Diana, Jarifa and JudyB!
Diana, "Who says telenovelas don’t mirror real life? 😊 Communication issues all the way around." OMGoodness, I couldn't have stated that better...a lack of communication in deed! Ringo won't tell Brenda to bug off; Julia won't tell Diego to go look for a bone elsewhere; Rafa can't get a word...the list is endless!
I think Manuel is a good guy...though stubborn and not the most sensible or smartest cookie in the jar.
Jarifa, I was somewhat surprised that Turco caved to Gloria's demands so quickly, like a puppy who has been scolded and runs off with his tail between his legs. But then Gloria is the sly snake who has gotten what she wants so far at the cost of her son and who knows what else.
JudyB, "I find the "humor" in this very odd. Not just the continuing misunderstanding about Oso's hijo, but also the way we are supposed to find the twin sexual mix-up hilarious." ITA! Those two storylines just don't seem to hit the mark. It even seems as though there are two different writers who also have "communication issues." And I want to agree with Jarifa regarding Oso's feelings for Rosa, but I do see where you could get the idea that Oso may have feelings for Rosa.

Kemal and Asu join his parents for breakfast. Fehime asks Kemal about something Leyla had told her, about how there are things they don’t know. “Is that why Nihan married Emir? To protect her brother?” She asks. Hussein says “If this gets any bigger, have you thought about how this will affect Tariq?” Kemal says “Tariq doesn’t want to get away from that, father.” Just then,Tariq shows up to reproach Kemal for slandering Emir. He calls Kemal an embarrassment. Hussein asks them both to remember to respect his presence. Asu gets involved and reminds Tariq that he’s a murderer. Fehime cuts in to tell her to watch her words, her son is not a murderer. Tariq tells his mother to ignore both of them, because they both cover up their lies. Kemal incredulously looks at Tariq. Asu tells Kemal to tell everyone the truth, but Fehime orders her to be quiet. Asu says that she is being unfair with Kemal, but Fehime says otherwise. Tariq continues to provoke Kemal, who in turn tells him that the real reason he cares about what’s happening to Emir is because he knows that what he’s done will soon come to light. The two brothers get ready to fight each other, and Kemal gives Tariq a knife so that he can stab him in the back. Tariq drops the knife. Hussein has enough and says that both of them aren’t thinking. Kemal says “If you believe I am defaming Emir, and defaming my brother, I’ll gladly pay the price for that. I’ll burn in hell.” He takes Asu out of there. Tariq stands there, quiet but angry.
Someone is watching Kemal and Asu drive away. He tails them. Meanwhile Kemal calls Zehir, to ask if he’s ready. Zehir comes out of his car, dressed in a suit. Kemal wants Zehir to win an auction for their company. When he hangs up, Asu says “by your smile, it’s obvious you have good news.” Kemal says that Emir doesn’t know what’s coming. In his overhead mirror, he notices he’s being followed.
Emir thinks back to confronting Asu. “This time, not even Kemal Soydere will save you from me,” he says. He looks sleepy.
At the hospital, Nihan watches the video. Vildan reminds Nihan that Kemal is responsible for all of this. Zeynep butts in to say that Kemal would never do anything to hurt Nihan. Vildan tells her to shut up because all that she and her brother want to do is hurt her family. Suddenly they hear Ozan freaking out, asking Nihan for help, and to be taken out of there. The nurse is putting a tranquilizer in his IV. Nihan yells out that she’s here, she’ll help him. Nihan then tells Zeynep to tell her brother that Ozan is suffering because of him, and she wants him to know that he’s hurt her severely with this.
Emir calls Nihan and she answers the phone. He asks her to take his place in the company. Nihan accepts and he wants to know why she accepted so easily. “I remember each of Ozan’s screams. Now I will attack.”
Onder tells Galip that they can’t participate in the auction because Emir is in jail and that every moment Emir spends in custody is detrimental to the company. The ministry has all suspended all of their projects. Galip curses Kemal, but says that the trial will happen without Emir in custody. Onder asks what will happen if his influences don’t help out. Galip says he’s certain that it will all work out. Soon there’s a knock at the door, and Galip gets the message that the DA requested to hold Emir in custody longer because of the publicized video.

Nihan tells her mother that she’ll be back soon. Vildan asks where she’s going. Nihan says she’s going down a road where she won’t be coming back, and that life has her following her mother’s footsteps. She’ll forget about her heart now. Vildan looks concerned.
Emir swears he’ll finish off Kemal.
Asu notices Kemal driving elsewhere and asks “Weren’t we going to the office?” Kemal tells her not to freak out, they’re being followed. She recognizes the person tailing them and tells Kemal to stop driving because she doesn’t want him to trap the man. She says “We have enemies Kemal.” He asks what she’s talking about. Asu says “My uncle and I, we have something from the past. We didn’t want you to know about this.” “Is that why you’ve been nervous these past few days? I’ve seen that you make a lot of phone calls” Kemal says. Asu lies that she only recently found out the truth by accident and that Hakki didn’t tell her everything to protect her. She says that her uncle has disappeared and all he’s left behind is a letter where he asks her not to follow him and that he’ll contact her when he feels it’s safe to do so. She continues “I’m telling you because I trust you. I’m sure my uncle will come back. But this is why we have to continue our lives without him.” Kemal tells her that until her uncle returns, he will take care of her. Asu looks like she’s trying to figure out how to spin out the rest of her lie.
Soon Kemal and Asu are sitting at the boardroom. Kemal answers his phone and Zehir has good news. “You should have seen my style during the auction,” he excitedly says. He mentions that none of Kemal’s associates were at the auction. Kemal mentions that until this whole investigation ends, they aren’t allowed to participate in the auction. Galip shows up and Kemal asks if he’s the only one who’ll be there. Galip says that Emir’s chair may be empty, but he will come out soon. Nihan comes in and says that she’s taking over Emir’s place. Galip doesn’t bother to stifle his laugh. “Any problems?” Nihan asks. Kemal says no, it is her last name after all. She’s just finally acting the part. Nihan remains cold and Galip comments that Nihan is finally fulfilling her duties as Emir’s wife. “It’s not important who’s before us,” Asu says, “what’s important is the business.” Nihan says “It shall be that way.” They all get to work after Kemal says “Your presence at this table doesn’t give us any doubts.”
Later that night, Zeynep goes into Emir’s room. She starts stroking his blazers. She turns around and smells his cologne bottle, spritzing some on her arm. She holds the bottle to her heart.
Kemal watches Zeynep walk out into the garden, from his home. Nihan gets out her car when she sees Zeynep and asks if she’s going to the hospital. Zeynep walks past her and says she’s getting a taxi. Nihan thinks back to when Zeynep was caught in Emir’s room. She gets angry and walks up to her, grabs her arm and asks “Why do you smell like Emir’s lotion?Answer me!” Zeynep looks at her like she’s crazy. “I took Ozan’s stuff because Vildan asked me to, I guess some of it rubbed off on me.” Nihan doesn’t believe her and starts checking her bag. Zeynep takes out the lotion and says “Do you believe me now?” Nihan continues to ask “What do you have to do with Emir? Why did you want to abort?” Asu sees this and butts in: “Thats a very serious insinuation.” “Don’t get involved,” Nihan barks back. “I have to,” Asu says, “Zeynep, go to the hospital.” The taxi comes right then and Zeynep is gone. Asu continues to ask Nihan if she believes that Emir is the father of Zeynep’s child. Nihan tells her once more not to get involved and goes into her house. Asu then texts Zeynep a warning: “Nihan is very mad. Be careful with her. Please don’t make your brother suffer.” Zeynep bites her nails.

Kemal and Asu are watching the news the next day, which is trying to cover the results of the criminal hearing. The media claims that with the incriminating video circulating the internet, neither Emir nor Ozan would be released from custody. Kemal comments that Emir won’t get out of this one so easily. Asu texts Tufan to ask about the verdict. He writes back that no one knows anything yet.
Vildan can’t believe that Galip hasn’t shown up at the court yet. Suddenly the criminals walk out into the hallway. Emir demands to know where his father is, and if this lawyer really is the best that he can get to defend him. The lawyer doesn’t answer that but reminds him that he’s under conditional discharge and that now they must gather the evidence to prove his innocence. When Emir walks out of the court he is greeted by the press with a billion questions. He stares at them like he’s gonna bite their heads off. One of them mentions that they believe Kemal Soydere will be taking over his place in the association. Emir says “Don’t count victory yet. I’ll be proven innocent from all of this.” Tufan tells the reporters that the lawyer will speak to them, and he helps Emir get to his car. Emir reminds him about his assignment to follow Asu around. Tufan says that she’s still at Kemal’s side. Emir says “That’s logical.”
“Why did they let Emir go?” Asu asks. Kemal says that Ozan was also allowed to go home. “Justice doesn’t apply to them?” She asks. “No one knows what will happen,” he says. Asu says she needs a moment to process all of this. She goes for a walk and calls Tufan. She says she’s afraid Emir will come for her now. Tufan reminds her that she’s safe with Kemal. Asu asks “and what will happen when he finds me without Kemal? Eventually he’ll confront me alone.” “You’ll have to think about yourself first at that moment, Asu” Tufan says in a matter of fact way. “I will not shoot him. I won’t be the means to my uncle’s revenge,” Asu says. She tells Tufan that she needs those videos as they are the only hinges that can guarantee her life. Tufan asks her to have some patience and trust him, he will get her those videos.
Galip is with Emir in the car and says that Nihan actually did a good job taking over and he’s proud of her. He mentions that the partners are getting anxious because they don’t want to be associated with a criminal. Not getting any response from Emir, he asks him if he’s listening at all. Emir wants to know if his father is withholding information from him, and says he’s aware that Kemal wants to be president of the association. “How will you stop that from happening?” Galip asks. “People don’t think about the consequences of their actions, but one day it’ll come to attack and have you pinned against the wall” Emir says.
“Anyone who hears you say that will think that you’re going to kill Kemal Soydere,” Galip says. “No, there’s still something else I need to do first,” Emir says.
In the car ride home, Zeynep asks Ozan if he’s feeling better. He’s sitting in between Zeynep and Nihan, speechless and looking traumatized. Vildan says “Ozan, honey, Nihan won’t leave your side just so that you can feel better.” Zeynep says “I will also be at his side, ma’am.” Nihan comments loudly “That’s the way it should be. Ozan, everything will be ok.” Zeynep looks annoyed, but receives a message from Emir, requesting that she take care of her husband and he’ll talk to her later. Nihan asks if Zeynep received bad news. Zeynep claims its her parents, asking how Ozan is doing. She answers the text back, accepting to see him later.

Asu is still in Kemal’s patio. Kemal walks up to her and says that it’s getting cold and she’ll get sick. He says “There’s something you haven’t told me yet. You want to, but can’t. Did you tell me everything?” Asu affirms that she has nothing else to confess, but adds that she’s happy to be there with him. Kemal says that he really wants her to find her uncle, but Asu claims that Hakki will come back when he thinks it’s prudent to do so. Kemal reluctantly accepts that and changes the subject. He says that today they won’t be going to work, so he suggests they watch a movie to forget everything that’s going on for the next two hours. As she follows Kemal back to the house, she notices Emir staring at her from a distance. She stops dead in her tracks and stares back with fear. Kemal calls her and waits for her to walk ahead of him. He tries to see what she was looking at, but finds no one there.
Ozan is in bed being coddled like a little boy by Nihan and Zeynep. He says that he would like to sleep. Onder suggests that they leave him to rest. Vildan comes in and says she just spoke to Galip, who said that everything will be ok. Nihan asks “Why? Did he confess everything?” Onder tries to shush her, but Nihan says “what’s wrong dad? Everyone knows the family secret now.” Zeynep interrupts to say that she’s also part of this family now. If the Sezins could openly scoff at her, they would have, but Ozan puts an end to that.
Nihan steps out into the hallway and Efsame tells her that Emir just got in, but that he said he would be leaving soon. Nihan takes that in.
Emir is in his bathrobe, in his room. Nihan comes in to ask what happened during the hearing. He claims he confessed everything, just like her brother. Nihan says she thought that only Ozan would be released. Emir says “Why? Those girls lied to both of us and now we know that they both paid for it with their lives.” Nihan reminds him that they are not in the courtroom anymore. “Nihan, thank you for taking my place in the company,” he says, rather sincerely. She retorts “I didn’t do it for you.” Just as she’s about to leave, she noticed Emir get a message. Zeynep asked Emir when and where she would see him. Emir texted back, telling her to step out of the house right now. From the other side of the house, Nihan watches Zeynep quickly leave Ozan’s room. She was looking all around to see if anyone was watching. Nihan stares, knowing that she’s going to see Emir.
Zeynep and Emir are by the seaside, drinking coffee in a patio. “Is the child you’re expecting really mine?” He asks. She wants to know if he would force her to abort if it is. Emir says that he should, but acknowledges that she’s been behaving lately. Emir asks her to do something for him, to confirm that she loves him and so he won’t harm the baby. He asks her to see Asu tonight. Zeynep wants to know what will happen when she does. He tells her not to question him. Zeynep agrees to the deal, asks him to feel something first. She takes his hand and puts it on her belly. Behind the fence, Nihan saw it all and can’t believe it. Zeynep tells Emir: “Your son.” He seems to be warming up to the idea. Nihan realizes that Emir is the father of the baby. At first she wanted to go into the cafe patio and confront them, but she stops herself and is unsure of what to do at that moment. She chooses to get into her car, trying to blow off her anger.

RGV Chick, glad to fill in the blanks for you!
Nihan is just ridiculous with the whole Ozan thing. I feel that his manchild role is way overdone. Sometimes love can really blind people. Also, I know that she’s reacting to Zeynep’s betrayal of her brother, but isn’t she kind of acting more like a jealous wife?
Now that she’s alone, Asu doesn’t want to fight fire with fire. She’ll have no choice, as Emir will come with everything to kill her.
I won’t be able to watch tonight’s episode.

Excellent recap and now, wonderful comments.
Jarifa, I was happy to see that you share my feelings on Gloria in that "I never expected the power she showed over him". Whatever she "has" must be something! And isn't it frustrating that here, an eavesdropper who actually heard the CORRECT info that Oso is Rafa's father is not allowed to "spill the beans"!
But as you wisely stated Rgv Chick, "Gloria is the sly snake who has gotten what she wants so far at the cost of her son and who knows what else". Sly. Determined and dangerous for certain!
"Ms. Julia is not being honest with herself nor with her fiancé". Judy, you always see things not apparent at first glance. You are absolutely right - everyone should be accountable, good or bad. As awful as Diego is, she isn't being truthful either.
Diana
AnonFri, echoing Nina, really appreciate the detail of your recaps and all the hard work.
I can post something on Friday for the Thurs epi since AnonFri can't watch, and deserves a break anyway! Won't be as complete, but will be something.
Yep, a low point for Nihan, skulking around in an undignified manner spying on Zeynep and Emir. Agree she is acting like a jealous wife. That was a great confused gasp when she saw him put his hand on Zeynep's belly and it sunk in.
Enough with baby Ozan. Just put him to bed and leave him there.
I was remembering that Asu consoled Zeynep after Zeynep's unceremonious dumping by Emir after the hotel tryst. So Asu knows the history there. Maybe she's picturing herself as an aunt to the baby!
Asu, Tufan suggested it but isn't she right where she wants to be, under Kemal's protection in the glass house, for now anyway? There she is telling Kemal she trusts him, while revealing just a bit of the truth. Savvy Kemal knows she's hiding something.
Thanks again AnonFri!

Clara, the one time Nihan would have had sufficient proof of Zeynep's relationship with Emir, and she didn't even record them! I wonder if she'll tell Kemal, or if she'll choose to protect Emir, as Yasemin noted on Tuesday's episode. I also wonder what would have happened if she had chosen to confront them. I suppose she's still thinking of Ozan.
Asu stopped Zeynep from seeing Emir's abortion doctor last week. She has sympathy for Zeynep, and also she does want to become the in law someday.
I suppose Asu has technically given up on Kemal, especially since she's very concerned about Emir killing her at any moment. There's also the reality that her uncle might set her up again. She has no time to fantasize. I'm not sure why she's withholding the truth from Kemal.
AnonFri
Vildan and nihan have spoiled the man
Child. And hes laying there eating it up. Poor baby. He don't need to grow up, he'll always be their Little boy.
Where's a man when you need one? Why
Didn't onder put a stop to this train wreck before this got started? Ozan is
Like a small child who gets what he wants. And its been like that his life
Through. And all nihan sees is her little brother falling down and hurtin
His knee. And now she's gonna go after the bully(kemal) that pushed him. She
Is married to the bully. Why wont they
Tell the truth?
I don't like asu. The girl ain't all
That stable. Kemal better watch his back. And other parts.
I've been watching this saga for the
Last 3 months and it's clear now that
These People have no selfcontrol where
Emir is concerned. It seems whatever he ask people to do, they do it. Even
Nihan. I think she still loves kemal.
She wouldnt be so pist if she wasn't.
Zeynep the inept. The most pathetic character Ive ever seen in a tn/soap.
Kemal's parents or totally stupid.
They want respect in their stupidity.
Kemal, zehir and salih are the smartest
Ones on the show. Tufan is the court
Jester. Stupid tufan.
Well now we will see what kemal has up his sleeve for emir with that auction.
Thanks Anon.
