HIJAS #65 STEFFI BUZZES PAST DARK SIDE AND TURNS RIGHT INTO CRAY-CRAY
Part 1
Dear Patio, I'm a bit under the weather tonight, so this will be short and bare bones. I have a date with a couple of Tylenol and bed I think. The result of wiping my grandson's runny nose for a week-- and now I have what he has. Alas, I'm not nearly as cute.
We start with a brief scene twixt Steff and Daddy Dario. She's upset that he had his henchies beat up her Beloved. But, after a moment's thought, sees the rationale of his resorting to extreme measures and decides to pull one herself. When Juana Victoria later enters Steff and Seb's bedroom, to ask "How much longer do I have to suffer for my mistakes?" Steff begins to scream like a banshee, and then slams herself into the glass window, breaking it. And messing up her face big-time. We have lots of closeups of Estefania's lovely visage bleeding copiously. Want gore? We've got it. Big-time.
There's the usual hysteria with folks converging from all over. Soledad administers first aid, Seb calls the ambulance and warns Juana Victoria to stay home when she tries to jump in the ambulance as well. Instead, Leonora rides along with Steff and hears how the "cabecilla" [ringleader of the Juanas] attacked her. Sebastian is pleading Vicky's case to his dad, while Juan is wondering once again why Steffi and Vicky have such an issue. And the Juana Pack is definitely losing faith in their sister, looking very dubious as she tries to explain this was all a crazy setup by Steffi herself. The only one who stands by Vicky?--the loyal Teresa.
At the hospital, Leonora, Juan and Seb hear that the plastic surgeon is attending to Steffi. And suddenly they remember that they have to alert Dario. "This will be like World War III!" screeches Leo. Turns out Dario is in Mexico City at a business meeting. And does go ballistic. He'll jump in his private plane and return immediately! Head for the bunkers everybody!
Meanwhile, more back and forth with Vick and her sisters. Barb is doubting that Steff would do such a crazy thing. "She'd have to be 'bien chisqueada' [really crazy] to pull a stunt like that. Soledad, on the other hand, thinks they should give Vicky a good hearing--after all, she's always been a loyal sister.
Well, not if you ask Leonora. She's bound and determined that this aggressive hoyden, this potential assassin, has to be bounced out of her house--and right now! Now I'm just going to jump a few squares and tell you right now why Leonora's plan fails to jell. Sebastian confronts her later in the episode about her fake depression and desire to die. "Do you know how my father suffered, fearing for your life and health?" Leo begs him not to let Juan know she was faking the whole thing in order to manipulate Seb into marrying Estefania. Seb agrees to keep quiet..."ON ONE CONDITION. That you let Juana Victoria stay in the house."
"How dare you blackmail your mother!?"
"Hey, I learned from the best--YOU!"
And it's a deal. Vicky stays. Score one for Sebastian's side.

Part 2
Let's take a break from the drama to deal with the ongoing annoyance of the "fantasma" and the hidden treasure. Evidently multiple checks of the map indicate that the treasure is buried right under a central spot in la Dolorosa's floor. The boys want to dig. Mauricio says "no". The furious fantasma sends up a gross cloud of sulphuric mist, which causes all the paying customers in the bar to flee. And then we hear an evil, ghost-like chuckle.
And that's enough of that folks. Back to the drama.
The Juana's are still worrying their pretty little heads over the vexing question of who's to blame--Steff or Vick? But when Inés reconstructs the timeline of when Estefania found out about Vicky-- and when she actually pretended to be worrying about a possible rival-- they all realize that Steff has been manipulating them all along to lose confidence in their sister and see her as a baddie. They're still cranky about Juana Victoria keeping her romance and trips to Mexico City with Sebastian a secret, but hey, all is forgiven. There's a very pretty group hug with four lovely heads together, and then Teresa comes down in her jammies and we have another lovely group hug-- only now with five lovelies. All good.
But now what to do about poor Steffi? She's obviously a danger to herself and others. What to do? What to do? Sebastian, at the hospital talking to his dad, is wondering the same thing. He's convinced Estefania is crazy. But he's also worried about what will happen when Juan sees Dario. So he advises his dad to just walk the corridors, breathe in deeply and avoid a confrontation altogether.
Well, confrontation is what's going on at the Blue House. Dario bursts in the door, sees Juana Victoria, seizes her by the throat, and is doing a right good job of throttling her when the Juana Pack arrive to the rescue. Led by none other than One-Two Punch Juana Barbara. After getting well and truly decked by our boxer, Dario decides he's better served by rushing to the hospital to check on his princess.
Steffi is perfectly honest with Dad and tells him the truth--she did this all herself. Wasn't he the one who said dramatic steps were needed to save this marriage? "But what if you had crashed through the glass, or slashed an important vein?" wails Dario. "We've got to re-think this!"
Steff is sick of the relationship between Sebastian and Juana Victoria. She's not going to let that second-rate tramp take her man. Dario muses sadly that this sounds more like a competition than a love story--and that it's all his fault. At that point, the nurse enters and tells him it's time for the patient to get some rest.
Great. Now he has time to ream out Sebastian for breaking his daughter's heart by falling in love with another woman. Seb counters that it's ALL DARIO'S FAULT! "Yes, indeed, you treated her like a princess, a rich girl, giving her everything. And as a result, she can't deal with frustration, can handle any failure. She's capable of anything to get what she wants--including harming herself."
Dario protests hotly, but maybe he's getting a clue. We can but hope.
Back at the house we see Leo and Juan in the marital bed and she's being oh so understanding about Juana Victoria sticking around. He's dazed and confused. But happy there's peace in the family.
The Juana Pack is focused on peace as well. Pointless to denounce Dario's attack at the police station. He's got too much money and influence for anything to stick. So instead, they need to help dear Estefania. After all, she was once a sweetie pie. We all liked her--remember? So we have to try and help her recover her sanity

Steff and her Dad are talking again and he's chiding her about being fixated on a hopeless love. She reminds him that he's the same way about Leonora. Check Mate.
Sebastian, talking to Uncle Xavier, is blaming himself for Steffi's troubles, but Tio points out that his wife is an adult and fully responsible for her actions.
Fernando gets together with Vicky and tells her all his resentment is gone. He realizes everything she did was to help the family financially, and he thinks she's a great human being.
Steffi comes back home, disappointed to see that her arch-rival is still around. Leonora sits with her while Seb heads to the pharmacy to get her meds. The Juanas come in to commiserate and pretend to be on Steffi's side. "Alas, that Juana Victoria just REFUSES to leave," they chirp.
Seb returns and tells Steff he's thought a lot about their situation and is ready to move into the house Dario gave them, and ready to go through with a church wedding. But first she has to talk to Padre Camilo. "Why," queries Steff.
And the final scene is Juan, walking along the beach with a fully recovered Juana Victoria. He's admiring her generosity and kindness in trying to help Steff recover her right mind, even after the pretend attack. "But what I can't understand is this...what is Estefania's beef with you?"
Mega-guilty look from Juana Victoria. And there we end.

OH JUDYB fell better baby. Lovin the little ones often means lovin em through nasty germs. I would say take some castor oil, but that stuff does not have rave reviews. Tho it does work.

You put your being sick aside so selflessly and created another excellent recap. At this point, I truly wish I were able to watch as it sounds as though all hell is breaking loose.
Some of many favorites included "cabecilla" andchisqueada' [really crazy]” as well as “aggressive hoyden, this potential assassin”. Again, how often does one actually get the opportunity to read the word “hoyden”. Beyond impressed.
“Dario muses sadly that this sounds more like a competition than a love story--and that it's all his fault”. Indeed. But I enjoyed Steffi pointing out that Dario is as obsessed with Leo as she is with Sebas.
And instead of demanding Steffi see a psychiatrist, Sebas says they will move and do a church wedding! Huh? “Steffy has flown Over the coocoo's nest. I don't think she loves seb, she Just obsessed” was right on the money Nina!

Judy – I hope you will be feeling better soon! Thank you for your recap on top of feeling under the weather. Our wonderful nietos are walking petri dishes, just waiting to share with us. If we would/could stop loving and kissing all over them, we might not catch anything, but alas, they are sooo lovable and we can't help ourselves.
Maybe Stef truly is starting to spiral downward. She already tried to kill herself once already (drowning in the ocean) so perhaps she will be successful soon, and Sebastian will be off the hook? How else can this end up? I don't see a divorce and convent in her future.

Good morning sweet Patio. Yes, DIANA, all hell is finally breaking loose in this one. At least we have a little "plot" going on, instead of Non-Stop Silly. I think Seb's proposal is all part of the plan to restore Steffi's mental health. By insisting that she talk to Padre Camilo before any religious wedding ceremony is scheduled, I think he's hoping that she'll confess or something. "Pero, qué sé yo?" We'll have to see what transpires.
NINA...Lordy, I haven't thought of castor oil in eons. When we lived in Penn Yann, NY (1945), it was a time of many storms (oil lamps were a necessity when the electricity went out) and castor oil (lots of colds and lots of dosing with that yucky stuff). Why it would help, I have no idea. I thought it had since been discredited along with iodine for scrapes. But who knows? And talking of ancient medical nostrums, when I lived in Switzerland (59-60) they were still using leeches for remedies in certain cases. You're bringing back the memories, lady!

Well, yes, nothing but a first-class ticket for our Pampered Princess would do. And I enjoyed Sebastian's sermonette to Dario on how daddy treating his daughter like a princess all her life had rendered her incapable of handing any sort of frustration and failure. Although, to be fair, she initially seemed to accept her failed engagement with grace.
Oh well, let's face it. Justifications aside, this sudden turn in Steff's character is a plot device. But at least it's stirring things up after months of maudlin nothingness going on.
As I understood it, Seb is part of the plan to "restore Steffi's mental health" and requiring her to meet with Padre Camilo is to serve as a goad to confession and repentance. At least we can hope!

Well, yes, nothing but a first-class ticket for our Pampered Princess would do. And I enjoyed Sebastian's sermonette to Dario on how daddy treating his daughter like a princess all her life had rendered her incapable of handing any sort of frustration and failure. Although, to be fair, she initially seemed to accept her failed engagement with grace.
Oh well, let's face it. Justifications aside, this sudden turn in Steff's character is a plot device. But at least it's stirring things up after months of maudlin nothingness going on.
As I understood it, Seb is part of the plan to "restore Steffi's mental health" and requiring her to meet with Padre Camilo is to serve as a goad to confession and repentance. At least we can hope!

Steffi going off the deep end may just be what this show needed to give it the boost we all were waiting for. While the Juana Pack are still in the eye-rolling category, I am impressed that they are going to try to help Steffi. I just wonder what cockamamie plan they came up with and if it will backfire on them. Judy, I too think that Seb's suggestion that they move to their house and have a church ceremony is part of the plan.
I wish they'd get the "treasure" storyline done with. It's just not funny; I would add "anymore" but I've never found it amusing. Blech...

Whatever. One of the craziest things I have ever seen in a TN, and TNs seem to specialize in crazy things.

What I took away from this episode was that Seb believed J-Vick and they were able to convince the 3/4 of the Juana Pack. Then he had the guts to confront both his mother and Dario. I'm glad he told J-Vick about the beating and she believed him.

HIJAS #66 THE TIDE HAS TURNED AND NOW LEONORA IS ON THE SHORT END OF THE MARITAL STICK
Part 1
Our lovely Leonora, having had the upper hand for much of this story, is now scrambling as fast as she can to earn Juan's forgiveness and head off a divorce. And boy, this is without the truth of her infidelity with Jerome coming out. Kind of fun to see our lovely lady sweat a bit. As for the rest, the treasure hunt turned out to be a big dud. The treasure was simply dusty, moss covered toys that the pirate wanted to pass on to his son. I guess we were supposed to go "Ahhhh, isn't that sweet!" but I was more like, "Ugh, stupid and a waste of time!" Not to mention that it completely tore up the floor of the the revamped, rebuilt Dolorosa. Other than that, the big thing for me was learning the word for "scab"--it's "la costra". And honestly that's a lot more useful to know than all this passionate vocabulary we've picked up in these bodice rippers. So add that to your Español Kit Bag folks and on we go.
We begin with Juana Victoria spinning a lame fib about why Steffi hates her so much. Papi Juan is unconvinced. But he agrees that Steff is crazy and dangerous now. He finds the Mental Health Plan awfully complicated, but Juana Victoria assures him it will work. All he has to do is appear to side with the Juanas and be very indignant about Vicky's "supposed attack" on Steff.
Meanwhile, Seb's plan to remove Steff from the house has run aground. Steff doesn't want to be all by herself in the home Daddy Dario provided. She needs the warmth and support of Leonora's presence. And her sisters (minus J.V.) as well! She flips around on the church wedding, at first lamenting that she doesn't want to walk to the altar looking like a wreck with all those scars; then re-booting and claiming she wants a church wedding as soon as possible. But WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO TALK TO PADRE CAMILO?
Seb maintains that the good Padre can help her. He's wise, he's known her all her life etc. and here's the kicker--"Think of him as a friend; but a friend who can never reveal your secrets." Steff looks unconvinced and opines that the ones who should be talking to the good Padre are Seb and Juana Victoria--after all, they're the ones with sins to confess! Seb simply says that he loves her, he's worried about her and he gently--very gently--kisses her on the lips. So Steff caves and says she'll talk.
Segue to la Dolorosa where every time the boys start to dig in the wrong place, sulphuric fumes arise. Mundito figures out the fantasma is saying "Cold, cold, getting warmer, Hot!" as they finally find the right place. The rest you know. A great big bunch of nuthin' unless you like moldy, ancient toys.
Now it's dinner time at the Blue House. The Juanas rise up in indignation when Vicky shows up. They're not going to eat with that sneaky little hypocrite! [mosca muerta]. Papi Juan sternly orders them back to the table, but Leonora is intrigued and delighted at this new development. When she reports back to Steff that the Vic appears to be in purdah, they're both pleased. And hey, time to start looking at some fancy new wedding dresses!

In what seems to me a rather glaring ethical lapse, the Padre agrees to go along with their lame plan. Seb is having a similar meeting with his guru, Tio Xavier. The latter opines that both Dario and his offspring need psychiatric care. They're "bombas de tiempo" [time bombs]and could explode at any time.
Well, Juan's back, which held up so well when lugging luscious Leonora up the stairs, has now "gone out", due to him angrily trying to shove Dario's gift of furniture out into the street. Leonora makes up for her sins in accepting the inappropriate gift by giving Juan a fabulous massage that has him purring and calling her "gordita" again [pet name, affectionate even though it means "fatty"]. But then he gets a phone call. A disguised voice tells him his wife lied through her teeth when she pretended to be depressed and suicidal. Leo tries to snatch the phone away but too late! The jig is up. Juan has had it. AND HE WANTS A DIVORCE!
Well, turns out he doesn't really. Later, talking with Bro' Xavier he admits as much, but he'd like to put an end to this scheming she's been doing with Estefania. Xavier is not quite as lenient--he thinks Leo made Juan suffer terribly and she deserves some consequences.
Meanwhile, Mauricio has come to visit Steff, outraged and worried about his sister's welfare. Exit Mau, enter Padre Camilo. Steff pretends to be crazy happy with the good Padre (instead of just plain crazy) so the priest ask her "whence cometh her happiness"? Well, she's happy because she's got the love of her life. He reminds her that happiness does not come from "events" but from the quality of our relationships with others (at least I think that's what he implied. Anyway, they didn't make much progress to restoring Steff's mental health.
Next, Juana Victoria shows up to propose that she and Steff forgive all and make up-- living in peace and harmony in the house. Steff says she'll forgive on one condition--that Vic kneel and beg forgiveness. She does. And Steff recants, saying she doesn't feel like forgiving after all.
Can't say I blame Steff. Betrayal takes a long time to forgive. Our not so saintly Juana Victoria spent a lot of time pretending to be her new best friend, while snogging her fiancé. Just sayin'.
And speaking of betrayal, Leonora is now reading the Riot Act to Seb, thinking that he was the one who clued Juan in to her scheme of appearing depressed to death. "Cria cuervos y te sacaron los ojos!" [Raise crows and they tear out your eyes. Or "how sharper than a serpent's tooth is an ungrateful child"] Whatever. She finally realizes that it wasn't Seb and she needs to seek for the ratty rat elsewhere. Like Juana Victoria!
Steffi meanwhile has decided to really tell the truth--to her phone. She "confesses" that she hates Juana Victory and would like to see her vanish off the face of the earth. Seb comes in, remonstrates with her because she keeps digging at her bandage and touching her face. But she assures him, in spite of her anxiety about scars, that she feels better after talking to Padre Camilo. Whether in person or on the phone, who knows?
Padre Camilo is giving the same message to Juana Victoria and her pack. Not everybody is ready to forgive. Vicky thinks the good Padre should hurry it along though, because she herself is in danger! Why, she might get thrown through a window next! (Ah, the narcissism of the infatuated.)

She's in such a swivet she doesn't think she can focus.( However, she looks smashing in one of my favorite outfits as they meet for a meal.) Her husband wants to divorce her! Dario pretends to be sympathetic but she calls him on it. "You're pleased as punch, admit it!"-" Well, he promised he wouldn't bring up his long-standing hunka burnin' love for her and he won't. Now back to the details of lobster and wine."
"But your marriage has been doomed ever since the infidelities of Juan came to light" he adds. -"Still, I'll find a way to get my husband to forgive me!" promises Leonora.
Brief break while Juana Victoria does an obnoxious little song and dance about passing three of her exams. "Only one more to go!" she crows. Is it awful that I absolutely hate it when the actress whistles?
Oh well, moving on. The other Juanas gather in Steff's room to play their part as new best friends, and learn that Estefania would like them to tear Vicky's clothes to shreds. Given that her outfits are the size of a postage stamp, this would seem like an easy task indeed. But later Steff, alas, perhaps as a result of her evil thoughts, is now having a dreadful nightmare about having a disfigured face. And in her thrashing about, tears off the gauze bandage [gasa] and we get more gore as her face begins to bleed bright red again. Soledad and the rest rush in and our psychic nurse takes charge and patches her up. Still, poor Steffi "loca de atar" [stone cold crazy] is sure her husband will be repulsed by her ugly scars and will never love her again!
Brief scene where we learn Margarita will be the new,interior decorator for the hotel. Mainly because they can pay her less than a real one. And Barb, in a conversation with Inés, mangles the word "albedrio" [free will]. I mention it only because it's a key word in any discussion about God and Man. And a lot nicer than "la costra" [scab]] Hey, it's all about the Spanish! And any theological discussions you might be thinking of having. Rather than about blood and gore.
Steffi has a little meltdown and orders everybody out of her room. Elsewhere, Leonora and Juan are discussing the divorce. He really doesn't want it, but he has ONE CONDITION--that she break off her conniving relationship with her daughter-in-law.
And there we end.

Judy, thanks again. Even when I can watch I usually don't bother with this TN, but I'm sure to read the recaps. They are always great fun. To borrow an excellent phrase from this weekend's comments, you are an expert at spinning gold from the straw that is this TN.
Lots of stuff here that made me smile, like "the ratty rat" and "Brief scene where we learn Margarita will be the new,interior decorator for the hotel. Mainly because they can pay her less than a real one." And "she reports back to Steff that the Vic appears to be in purdah" sent me to the dictionary.
But mostly everything just flowed along telling a fun story.
I know I'm being awfully repetitive, but I wish the TN were as good as the recaps and the comments.
Anyway, thanks and feel better soon.

Good Morning Lively Patio. Wow DORIS, thanks for the warning about castor oil. With all the vegetables we eat, adding castor oil to the mix would have been...well..."fulminante" I'm sure. And who needs this at my age. Yikes! Like you, I was really disappointed that the "treasure" was old, moldy toys. And that hole in the floor, even if patched, will hardly make for a good dance floor. Maybe they can keep if permanently covered by a table.

We open with the Bro-crowd lamenting their lack of cash flow at La Dolorosa, then there is the floor to fix after looking for buried treasure. Eh, whatevs.
Juan & Leo have a conversation about her “depression” scam. He tells her that 'either you cooked this up on your own to serve your own Machiavellian purpose, or Stefy influenced you to do it. I want you to keep away from her.' Leo sort of agrees, says she truly does not want to lose Juan, but she does not obey.
What’s up with that red dress Sol had on yesterday and today? Lots of cleavage and boobage showing. Wardrobe department always knows what they’re doing, so this is a mystery. I'm not a guy so I really don't care. It's just not the norm for Sol.
TEM and Tere are at the Dolorosa that evening, dancing to romantic music, low lights, soft lens filter on the production cameras, no sulphuric clouds emanating from whoknowswhere. We even get a brief look at TEM’s 6-pack abs. Well, Patio, tonight is the night. IT is unquestionable when the camera pans to some light across the room and fades out from the scene. #success Cue the Gary Puckett & the Union Gap song “This Girl is a Woman Now”.
We have further confirmation of said successful evening, the next morning. Tere has been cooking something in the kitchen and it explodes everywhere. Even Victoria heard it in the bathroom and comes running out, she said it sounded like a vehicle rammed into the house. Ahhhhh, our Tere is floating thru the morning saying such things as “life is beautiful”. Juan runs in to investigate the explosion. Tere’s answer is “my head is in the clouds.” Girl is all smiles. Ah, yes, she is a very happy camper, indeed. It's kind of cute, kind of humorous. We can scratch "that" off her bucket list.
Las Juanas shred some of Vic’s older clothing that Vic gave them, so they can maintain their appearance of solidarity with Stefy.
Stefy meets with Padre Camilo. Yes, she has been reviewing her life and all is set for the wedding, etc. Then he asks “how are YOU doing?” Well, not so great. She finds she is warm, sensitive, caring (recapper is barfing) but also a monster because of the scars she will have on her face from the glass window incident. She is not happy about Lo Que La Vida Me Robo and all that. Bless her black little heart.
Fernando & the guys ask Barbara’s trainer (I forget his name) why Barbi is not practicing. He says she doesn’t want to. So Fer decides to go do an intervention on Barbara. He asks her why she isn’t training and Barbara confirmed that it is because she lost her last fight.
Barb: Happy?
Fern: Are you afraid to fight again?
Barb: No!
and she immediately sucker punches Ferando in the stomach. (ow!)
Fernando responds by planting a big ole kiss on her mouth. The girl doesn’t take long before she succumbs and melts into it. Awwww. She is kissing back. And starts back training, too. Successful intervention on two levels. :-)

There is a rather weird scene with Stefy talking to her cell phone (IDK if she is recording it or looking at the screen in selfie mode… who knows?!?!) She is crying, sobbing, saying “why are you still in love with that traitor?(Victoria, I assume) The problem is not that I’m now a monster on the outside, but that I’ve become one on the inside.”
Like I said, very weird scene with no other reference scene to help understand it. But apparently this girl knows she has crossed over to The Dark Side. Will she be able to do anything about that? Stay tuned.
Ines and Sol break into Dario’s house. We have no idea why, but long story short, they trigger the burglar alarm “sin querer” and don’t know the code. The police arrive, they are hauled to jail. Dario comes to confront them. He wants to know why these girls are in my house and I can't blame him.
Turns out, they were looking for (and found) the crayon drawings the children made for Stefy. The ones she “adopted” the first time she left town earlh in this telenovela. The girls tell Dario they did it because they want to bring them to her, to remind Stefy of her noble and generous spirit (when she was wherever this place is). They hoped seeing the drawings would raise Stefy’s spirits, help her feel better, and hopefully not hurt herself again.
Wow. That was a really sweet thing to do! Even Dario understood and looks touched (in a good way; not "in the head"). He will probably bail them out and not press charges, but we have to stay tuned for tomorrow to be sure.
Sebastian tells Victoria he wants to re-boot their clandestine love affair. Victoria replies, “Well, señor casado has spoken.” and her answer is “No.” Gotta give Sebastian credit for trying, I guess. The guy is like a bulldog and will. not. let. go.

I always love the song shoutouts, and you made me smile (hurts to laugh right now and REALLY hurts to cough) with Bro Crowd, "an intervention on two levels" and your remarks about Soledad. She always wears pretty dresses--to me, she's the best dressed of the Juanas, and I didn't really notice that there was more "escolta" than usual, but maybe there was. Again, we'd need Andy's expert opinion.
Also enjoyed your notation of the "soft lens on the production cameras". Yep, they really went all out to make that Teresa-Todoelmundo scene romantic, but I kept thinking, there's no mattresses in the place, is Tere going to flower into womanhood on a hardwood floor??!!! OUCH.

Hey DORIS..maybe it IS possible to share germs through the internet. Although I suspect yours had the same provenance mine did...an adorable grandchild. This is the price we pay (and gladly, more or less) for having these little ones in our life.
On the mysterious saying, they're using a lot of slang in this one, and sometimes even the closed caption person can't keep up. If the urban dictionary doesn't have it, maybe the spelling was wrong. Or we need to check with some local "bros". The only ones I see are at the laundromat! (we had a long spell without electricity a few years ago and that's when I found out I could understand other people's chats in Spanish.

On the mysterious saying, they're using a lot of slang in this one, and sometimes even the closed caption person can't keep up. If the urban dictionary doesn't have it, maybe the spelling was wrong. Or we need to check with some local "bros". The only ones I see are at the laundromat! (we had a long spell without electricity a few years ago and that's when I found out I could understand other people's chats in Spanish.

I went back to look at that scene where "es bien coyetero" was used. Octaviano was teasing Ray about just laying around doing nothing...he was just laying around like a dog trained to hunt for coyotes.

Doris, thank.you. I love your old song references. Hub loved oldies concerts ,and we went to many. As soon as we came home from one, he was searching for another on the computer. We saw Gary Puckett several times. My cousin Drew and I were pen pals as teens , and I recent!y found a pile of his old letters in a cabinet in the garage. A time capsule . He wrote to me about the top ten songs of the day...as Well as his changing crushes. He has been emailing me weekly for The last year , and he has been writing about those same songs. Surreal. Great oldies.

If anybody is interested, Mi corazón es tuyo from 2014, starts in reruns today, 5 PM E.T., on UniMás.
I have seen bits of this TN before and I liked it, so I'm going to give it a try.
Be warned! This TN is 177 episodes! Good Grief! But at least it was covered here on Caray so there are recaps and comments already available.

SUSANLYNN...Love the Maxine quote! Our grandson came over again today, and in an effort to avoid contagion, my husband didn't come down for breakfast until noon! Anyway, I tried to reassure him that since he wasn't wiping little guy's nose like I was, it was unlikely he'd pick up any germs.
