El Dragón #75, 1/9/20: The Kill Order & Sealed Fates; Death Awaits

  • Apparently, Kenia raced back into her security building forcing Ishiro to pick the lock while she races back through her apartment; Ishi knows the apartment number and kicks in the door, going room by room and noting finally the open window and fire escape leading up to the rooftop.  Kenia leads him on a merry chase from there, finally losing him hiding behind a piece of trashed plywood in a construction site filled with mean looking construction workers, picks and shovels in hand and ready to defend her against a male interloper.  Ishi backs off, uncertain where she's gotten to.

  • Adela, meanwhile, continues arguing with Miguel about killing Jorge's live-in girlfriend--she's "familia" too!  Nope!  She betrayed the others and there's only one answer for that!
  • Dora hears their row and walks in on them arguing in the hallway.  Ade drags her off to the side when Miggy leaves to attend to battening up the hatches.  How can she make Mig see reason?  It's as if she doesn't know him any longer.  Dora therefore lectures Ade on "familia" and what it means to be "de los Garza" and putting familia first.  Nope, she's the one who is blind and she'd better think long and hard if she really loves the Migster.
  • Meanwhile Migs gives Peligros instructions to arm the manse and shield it/ bulletproof it to the hilt.  He wants a veritable fortress.  Flaco must do likewise with the electronic security setup.  First Flaco uses his "talents" to help track the "lost" Kenia by means of her phone's GPS and gives the coordinates to Ishi.
  • Kenia wises up and calls Jorge who's gone to the disaster of an empty apartment for a last good-bye.  She dumps her phone into the nearest dumpster before buying a throw-away cell phone to ask Pilar to find her a safe place to hide-out from Mig's hit-man, which she eventually does.
  • Serbian Mafia Daughter and Russian Mobster Head have a bidnez discussion over a couple of tragos at some bar.  Viewerville notes that she is finally sporting some different duds, so Efilina must be paying well.  They determine that all the other mob heads will continue selling Efilina despite its deadly side effects.  After all, it's not like the stuff they used to sell didn't do the same thing.  Neither understands Miguel Garza's sudden humanitarian quirkiness.  Screw him!
  • Ishi finds the ditched cell phone.  He returns to the manse and apologizes to Mig for losing the prey.  Mig says to follow that agent she's been in contact with and they agree he'll lead Ishi to her - hopefully before she has handed over the goods on them!
  • Mig calls Trejo to tell him the news about Kenia and to have Jimena and him close down Naga and Pidenos first and then to come find sanctuary at the manse.  Jime can hardly believe what's now happening.  What's to become of Kenia?  Trejo says they don't have time now (i.e., to discuss that).  There's work to be done.
  • Claudia hands Hector his mail.  She says there's one bit of correspondence he's needs to open.  It's is a notification from the newspaper guild naming him as a candidate for reporter of the year.
  • Kenia has called Gary to explain and hand over the goods on Naga Corp. and Miguel Garza's operations.  He promises to help her get her into their witness protection program.  She whines back that she's terribly frightened and doesn't want to die.  Gary promises to protect her.  In fact he has an undercover agent on the street out front to guard her.  (Whew!  That's a relief--NOT!)
  • Back in the Colombian jungle, Epigmenio gets news that Efilina is dying a slow death and it's back to cooking Meth.  They plan to go back to the DF and get rid of Garza once and for all.  He wants the General, Jaramillo, to come and bring a guerilla or two with him.
  • Jorge returns home and has a huge argument with Miggy in front of Ade, Dora and Chisca over sending his goons to find Kenia.  The apartment was empty and no, he didn't find her.  "--Hope to Dios that nobody finds her!"  What?  Jorge demands that he call off the hit.  Mig refuses. She double-crossed the family!  She sold them all down the river, including Jorge!  Jorge yells back that Kenia IS family!  "--No she isn't!  Family members don't backstab their family! (Miggy better take a closer look around him.) If she were family she'd have come to me and trusted me with the situation and I'd have sent her off to Japan--the two of you could have lived safe and sound in Japan!!" Jorge scoffs.  (I agree.  Who needs Japan?)  "--She made her bed now she'll sleep in it!" (Along with the fishes--er... the sashimis and the sushis.)
  • Jime returns home and begins emptying out half of the funds in Naga to her personal account.  Her ex-boss asks her about doing something so brazen.  She claims she earned it by the sweat of her brow and Garza would have half the money he's earned with it if it weren't for her.  He admits it's a shame the company's on the downhill run.  She says by the by that maybe he wasn't as smart as everybody (including himself) thought.
  • Hector takes Ana out to dinner to celebrate his being nominated.  They return home and make love....sort of.  Next morning the two discuss implants for him so they can return to a normal sex life.....sort of.  (FF>>FF>>)
  • Jorge turns to Pilar to find where Kenia's gotten to.  Pilar tells Jorge to pound sand.  "--If she'd never met you none of this would ever have happened!"
  • This "Kill Order" thing is way too disturbing for sweet Ade.  She goes to Chisca hoping for someone to side with.  Chisca has been listening to music on her ipod.  How can she be so oblivious to the tragedy unfolding around them, Ade wants to know.  It's her brother's live-in lover!  "--So what?"  The other brother's in charge of the familia. Ade says she doesn't understand the change because Miguel is usually full of great humanitarian, socially courageous ideas and desires, but now??  Ade needs to get a grip.  That's the way this kind of family handles things; Chis's experience living with Gramps has taught her that's how you deal.  If Ade really loves Miguel she will have to learn to accept and live with those certain types of activities.
  • Flaco and Jorge knock horns when Jorge accuses Flaco of being sore that Kenia chose Jorge over him.  He asserts rank as a Garza.  Flaco explains, yeah he was sweet on her and they still ended up friends, but she didn't choose to confide in him.  He would have tried to help her if she had.  But things are what they are and he's not going to prison for anyone or anything.  Jorge storms out.
  • Gary goes back to Edna; he hands her the usb drive with the dirt on Mig and Co. and demands she give Kenia her witness protection.  Edna agrees the girl has earned it.  (Ya think?)  Gary leaves the CENA parking garage and Ishi's there waiting in the shadows in his car and begins following him.  Gary leaves the garage unawares.
  • Drenka The Drab, aka Serbian Mafia Daughter, and Hans, I'm Going To Pump You Full, have found out where Mig's Efilina lab is located.  She shoots the two guards and then she and Hans kidnap the two head scientists.
  • Gary leaves the witness protection documents and some food with Kenia and begins to drive off.
  • Right after th kidnapping, a severely wounded guard calls Peligros with word of the kidnapping.  Mig and Peligros race to the little lab and finally Mig lets out with a bit of a temper tantrum.  (Viewerville rather doubts that's allowed in Bushido.....)
  • Kenia is eating when she hears a noise at the back of the building somewhere.  She calls for Gary a few times then locks the doors but...
  • Gary starts back to Kenia's after driving off and noting a car that he remembers was following him.  (Gary's getting lax in his middle age.)  He races back to Kenia's building and notes the dead undercover agent around the side of the building.
  • Ishi grabs Kenia by surprise from the back window in one of the old rooms and quickly slides a plastic bag over her head.  She screams.  Gary hears.  He scrambles to unlock the front door.  He checks throughout the apartment and locates her limp, sprawled out body left rather unceremoniously on the floor.  Her bulging, lifeless eyes tell the rest of this story.

Thank You Jardinera, like watching a train wreck in Super Slo Mo. Hopeo that dam island is paid for. But Islands do not spring up from underground volcanoes with running water, electricity, cable and internet do they? After the rabbit phase is over it could get boring.

All that stolen money will probably not benefit stupid, sexy, evil, greedy Jimena any more than stupid, sexy, evil, greedy Karina's is benefiting her.

I hope they show Jorge some pictures at least of Kenia so maybe he will go back to thumb sucking deaf mute mode. So sick of man child fruitcake Jorge.

T%hank You writers for clearing it up for all of us just WHAT ALL was non-functional below Aw Heck!'s beltline. filler Though it was sorta nice seeing the non-matronly side of Ana.

So La Famalia Cerda is moooving back to Mx to resume cooking Meth and killing Mig. Good, Mig seems to be kinda bored right now anyway. :-)

So Jimena and Trejo are jumping ship? Maybe Dora and Adela next. Jorge almost made it with Kenia.

Kirby: I was cheering Kenia getting whacked.

Big question is whether Jimena or Trejo will be next ?

Serbian guy isn't the same actor.

Steve these writers seem like women haters, so I think it will be Jimena.

Victoria, the Serbians are shape shifters. :-)

There was that other bald Serbian guy too, but I can not keep it straight who is what.

Thank you, Jardinera, great recap!

Kirby, I agree about the filler; too much of it when they could have concentrated on more relevant stuff. ''Poor, poor kenia, as soon as Gary handed her teh docs on the witness protection program and she eternally thanked him, I knew she was a goner. She can now go to greener dance floors...in peace, but at least not in pieces.

I am hoping that instead of spiraling Jorge into his world of darkness, the news about Kenia will trigger something in his memory cells so that he can remember what it is that shocked him so much when he peaked in the room where his grandfather was paying off the slimy pleather wearing shrimp (El Gato?) for killing his son/Jorge's father.

Mig's world is crashing and he has only 7 episode to salvage whatever he can. Or may Adela's wish will come true...they will live a simple, clean life...DREAM ON, GIRL!

Gracias, Jardinera, for the complete recap. That was hard to watch but I did think it was well done. Suspenseful. Adela has a hard choice to make ahead of her. I'm bracing myself for a big body count on this TN.

Whew--we made it through another episode, inching towards the end. Thank you Jardinera. This was a tough recap--Chisca and Ishiro's sweet "anniversary" and then he leaves to kill someone he worked with; Adela getting her eyes opened, and the whole chase scene. I'm hoping against hope that what Kenia handed over to Gary and Edna don't do them any good, but it's probably too late to resuscitate her.

BTW--Hans is dead. The barstool guy is supposed to be the Russian, but it was a poorly anunciated Spanish with a German accent rather than a Russian one that confused us. Can't remember his name--he was one of the Island Convention participants who didn't join Miggy (I think that's the way it was). Anyhoo, it wasn't Hans (he's dead) and Serbian Chick who broke into the lab, but the Russian guy. I concede, he does look like the dear departed Hans.

If Adela is the last cast member standing, I'll be ok with that. If she doesn't go back to Victor, she should start racing cars again.

Jimena isn't going to be able to talk her way out of what she's doing--ya she made Miguel richer than rick so she's only taking what belongs to her. Trejo will remain loyal.

Jorge will probably remember what he saw and overheard in the final episode. Somehow, El Gato will have to come back and jog his memory.

I'd like to see Flaco survive--and Peligros, but if he has to go, he should die a noble death.

I have one queja to express then lock my beanie back on for tonight. Did ANYONE actually believe that after the world-wide dissemination that the po-po were looking for a live ePig, there would have been only one sighting? The police would have had to sift through hundreds of bad leads. (I watch a lot of Dateline...)

I still worry about ePig and Carmen's two kids. Will they end up sacrificial lambs?

Kirby, you said it all. Island living will get old real fast, especially if you are hiding and can't just order up a house, running water and electricity without raising some suspicions. And maybe minus a whole bunch of money.

Gracias, Jardnera, for this great recap. My favorite line was he made her bed now she'll sleep in it!" (Along with the fishes--er... the sashimis and the sushis.)

The comparison to The Godfather is even more intense with Adela as the Kay Adams of this piece. Although Michael told her a story about getting Johnny Fontaine out of his contract Kay seemed oblivious to what this meant for her future if she married Michael. Adela has seen more than Kay did and has even been targeted.

I rewatched the ending of this episode several times and are we sure that was Ishiro and not Miguel doing Kenia in? Both are much taller than she was.

She was part of a terrorist organization, so no pity for her.

BTW, who else plays Fishdom on their phone? I renamed my Samuri fish for Ishiro.

Urban, I could not be sure who did Kenia, but Ishio's car was nearby, and there was not room to land a Lear 35 around there. :-)

Thank you Jardinera for another fine recap.

I guess I'm the odd woman out here for feeling sorry for Kenia. I watch my TV which is 55 inches, so I could plainly see that it was Ishiro who killed her. I did not want her to be killed. Okay, she was in a terrorist group, but something leads me to believe she was forced into it by that bad guy Abdul/Christian whom she was previously with. A lot of women get into abusive relationships and find it hard to leave because their boyfriend/husband keeps threatening to kill them if they do not do this or that for them. There are a lot of women in jail because of bad boyfriends that they were trying to please. I know it sounds ridiculous to the normal person, but a lot of men have the ability to abuse the women they are with and get them to do things they would not have normally done.

Yes, Hans is dead. But the actor they had playing the Serbian/Balkan guy looked like Hans.

Jimena is going to pay dearly for stealing Miguel's money from Naga. She had no right to that.

My question is, What is going to happen to Trejo?

Jardinera, thank you for another great recap.

Wow...Will there be anyone left standing by the finale? I guess the new trend in shows is constructing leading men with no redeeming qualities. Why should I care what happens to Mig ?

I hope that the next telenovela has a true galan in it, but I am beginning to feel that those types of telenovelas are long gone.I miss the heroes, the loyal and steadfast friends, the true loves, and ,strong family units of novelas of the past. #colormedisappointed

Susanlynn, I know what you mean. There is no one in this TN who has any real moral value and stands up for what is right. To a degree Miguel does, but he still was in business to produce a substance that was addictive.

I haven't seen a TN in a while that had much of a hero in it. It seems the main leading men are either weak or criminal to a point.

Cynthia...Will the tide ever turn back to the more romantic and positive shows?'

Televisa needs a bug in their ears regarding what we really want. Right Susanlynn?

Yes yes yes...let me tell you what I want , what I really, really want, Televisa.
