HIJAS

Judy - I can help any day except Wednesday, this week.

HIJAS

Doris, thank you!!!!! How about taking TUESDAY and THURSDAY then. That would be a big help.

Also I was going to suggest that we exchange emails and possibly cellphone numbers in case we collaborate on the next afternoon telenovela. If you click on my name, it should give you my email. I have the other recapper's emails, including Anita's, but I don't have yours.

HIJAS #75 STEFF CONFESSES HER CRIMES, BUT KEEPS JUANA VITORIA AND SEBASTIAN'S SECRET

Part 1

Well, our noble Estefania is back. Not only did she confess her crimes, but she protected the guilty secret of our two lovers (not to mention Leonora) and did it all in front of the whole Oropeza Clan, much to Daddy Dario's chagrin. He didn't want his princessita to humiliate herself that way, but she was determined to come clean in front of those most affected by her misdeeds. Gutsy, responsible, and willing to take the consequences. Which for the moment is getting put in a cell, while Juana Victoria walks free. But Dario clearly will come up with a Plan B for getting Steffi out. Stay tuned on that one.

But we open the show back at the motel where, after bonking Seb a good one on the head, Steff momentarily thinks about stabbing him to death. Fortunately she discards that option, and chooses instead to tie him hand and foot with the cords from the curtains. When he insists on pleading with her to return to the Good Steffi she once was--after all, think of the suffering of your brother and father!--she tells him to shut up. And stuffs a gag in his mouth. (Could we please do that to Juana Victoria also?)

Steffi's plan now is to disappear forever, leaving that skank Vick to suffer the rest of her life in a foul womens' prison. Pretty good plan. But when our bitter Steff looks in the mirror, a different vision is reflected back to her. The pretty, blissfully happy Estefania she once was. The difference is cruel. And for a moment Steffi weeps. But then quickly grabs her cellphone and departs.

We see a lovely shot of the beach and the moon. Clearly night has fallen. Seb has managed to spit out his gag and is calling frantically for help. And who should arrive but the Leonora-Juana Club Rescue Unit! Leonora is plenty upset about the red welts on her sonny boy's wrist from the ligatures. But it's off fullspeed to the Inspector's office to let her know that Estefania is indeed ALIVE!

Do you think an unshaven, grumpy, bedridden Dario is about to believe Seb and the motel clerk when they arrive at his home with the good news? Nuthin' doing. "Your beloved Juana Victoria is going to die when she arrives at the prison!" snarls our dastardly Dad. Well, at least his character is consistent. There is that.

What else went on? Well, Juan is at home feeling useless because he's totally incapacitated by back pain. And Adela, on the point of leaving, realized that she could no longer live without her adorable Mundito and has returned to become the inconvenient spouse once again. But Mundito is over the moon happy and has a plan to finance a house for his Mami. He'll sell his antigue Chuy Taf toys and buy Adela her very own place! And they'll all live happily ever after!

Meanwhile, our reliable psychic-nurse Sol has had a horrible vision of some wretch in prison clothes coming up behind Juana Victoria and stabbing her in the back. No puede ser! The Oropeza clan must all rush down to the police station and cause a MAJOR RUCKUS, no holds barred, until they put an end to any plans to cart Vicky off to prison. How big a ruckus? Well, let's just say that Theresa, claiming to have a Black Belt in karate was going to chop them all to pieces. Yep, the ultimate threat.

Turns out they needn't have bothered, because even the snotty (but sexy) Inspector now knows that Steffi is indeed alive, and is ready to drop all the charges against our annoying heroine. As Vicky is released, she and Sebastian hug and hold each other, in front of poor Steffi, which seems a wee bit tactless. But then again. And Estefania is truly ready to man up. She realizes that she couldn't continue to let her brother and father suffer, thinking she was dead. And furthermore, she realizes she needs help. Serious help.

"HIJAS":

Judy: Looking forward to seeing more of your detailed analysis on the recap.

HIJAS #75 STEFF CONFESSES HER CRIMES BUT KEEPS JUANA VICTORIA AND SEBASTIAN'S SECRET

Part 2

The Juana Clan is overjoyed to know Vicky will be released. The gals even do a happy sandwich hug with Leonora, who's like some kind of fairy godmother now. Especially as she's happy to claim credit for unraveling the mystery of Steff's plan by noticing the crime novel she lent her in the background of one of her pictures.

Not everybody is happy though. Dario, furious that his daughter let him suffer so, belts her a good one. "What kind of daughter does that to her dad!?" he screams. "I wanted to die I was so grief-stricken. I, who always helped you, gave you anything you wanted...I have NEVER suffered like this!" Well, gosh. On the one hand I understand his reaction. On the other hand, seriously Dario, DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE ABOUT YOU?

Well, Steff seems truly repentant and humbly begs her irate father's forgiveness. In spite of that resounding slap. But "once burned twice shy" Vicky doesn't believe she's truly sorry for a minute. She's been fooled in the past. What she figures now is that Estefania is planning to announce to the whole clan that Sebastian and Vicky are lovers, rather than siblings. And both she and Seb are plenty nervous about that.

Let's take a break from this sturm und drang and check back in with Mundito. Once Dad offered up the antique toys for sale on the internet, scrumptious offers keep pouring in. The best is from a fellow in China who believes that Chuy Taf is his great-great-great grandfather and he's ready to pay 100 thousand dollars for all those dear toys his ancestor wasn't able to pass on to his son! It's a Festivus Miracle and Mundito is in the money! Yay!

Okay. Back to our drama. Steffi does indeed "humiliate herself" by quietly confessing to everything. Starting with her entry into Vicky's bedroom to murder her with a hammer. But decided not to. Death was too easy for her wicked rival. Instead, why not frame Vick for her murder? That way she'd be sent to prison and would suffer for the rest of her life! (Wow. Diabolical. But intelligent is our Steffi.) Then all the rest that you know about. Draining her body of blood each day. Storing it in a small fridge in the service area. Taking off in the car on the day of the wedding, knowing that Vicky would not be attending. Therefore, if Steffi "died", Juana Victoria would naturally come under suspicion. (Awesome Steffi! Good thinking.
Too bad it didn't work out.)

When asked why she hated Vicky so much, Steffi, truly noble, simply says she envied her spontaneity, her happy, fresh approach to life, her good and loyal nature. And by contrast, she, Steffi, has become a monster! (That's it, she gets the Gold Crown of Repentant Criminals. Covering up for her victims while honestly confessing all her own faults. Bien hecho, mi vida, bien hecho.

Well, Steff goes to jail. Vicky comes home. And Teresa, also a noble, generous character, comes to TeM's house to invite everybody...yes! Adela included...to the Oropeza house to celebrate our heroine's release. Happy happy joy joy.

But not in jail. It's ALL ABOUT DARIO who's still miffed that his lovely daughter didn't think of HIM and all she put him through. "I suffered so much! I loved you and you did THIS to me!...But maybe I caused this by spoiling you too much." he laments.

"No," answers our wise, newly mature Estefania, "you didn't do this. I DID THIS. And I need to suffer the consequences now."

"Not if I can help it," mutters Dario.

So stay tuned. Our dastardly, devious, diabolical, dirty low-down Dad surely has another evil scheme up his sleeve. After all, there are still four more episodes to go!

HIJAS

Ahhh Judy, "scrumptious offers", "Bien hecho, mi vida, bien hecho" and "a Festivus Miracle" were wonderful.

My head is spinning trying to keep up with the Perils of Steffi! Yet, it does indeed appear she deserves "the Gold Crown of Repentant Criminals". Still, some of her actions were loathsome and repugnant. That said, I do believe there is a difference between true evil and mental illness. I think she falls in the latter.

"But when our bitter Steff looks in the mirror, a different vision is reflected back to her. The pretty, blissfully happy Estefania she once was. The difference is cruel. And for a moment Steffi weeps..." was beautiful Judy. As undeserving as these characters and storyline are of your careful, superb recapping, you have brought out the best in them. And we are thankful!

Diana

HIJAS

Thank you for your recap, Judy.

" "the Gold Crown of Repentant Criminals""
Indeed, and it just a bit unbelievable. I'm not letting her off the hook for killing Petunia with poison.

It was interesting that Stefy did not out Victoria & Seb's relationship as one of her motives.

"seriously Dario, DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE ABOUT YOU?"
Um.... yes. unfortunately. He is as mentally ill as she is.

Sebastian and Victoria hugging in front of Stefy had me cringing. Very bad form. Tacky.

Oh good grief, Adela returned. TEM's behavior around her seems abnormal, IMHO, for a guy whose wife returns after 8 or 9 years of abandonment. He's treating her like a likeable sibling or cousin. Where's the hurt? the resentment? my telenovela beanie hat?

Ultimos capitulos. Yay. ;-)

HIJAS

Judy, thank you for soldiering on with this.

And yet another Festivus miracle, this dog of a TN is about to end! Yay!

I am happy to hear that cute Stefi has repented and come back into the light.

"HIJAS":

Andy: If you have to guess. Who do you see getting their Karma anvils & who do you see being endgame ?

Judy, thank you! thank you! thank you!. Another nice treat filled with bits of your snark. You and Doris are on the last lap and we are cheering both of you on. Go, TEAM HIJAS!!

I agree with ALL of Doris's comments! Steff's sudden repentance was a bit OTT and out of character, even the good Steff's character would have run to daddy first. And Dario telling Seb that J-Annoying was going to die when she got to the prison is also hard to swallow as was Teresa running in and inviting EVERYONE, including Adela to the celebration. But oh well, it's almost over...it's almost over.

Now that TEM is going to have mucho dinero, will Adela's love for him be reignited?

Judygirl, you out done yourself. This is the funniest recap I think you've ever done.
That"The leonora jauna Club Unit" that
That was laughin out loud funny. And I was At work laughin out loud, and my patient Was not aware. When I read that it was These initials that came to mind "The L.J.C.R.U. ya know? Lol, Professional like.

And dario, he's a piece of....well hes
Piece of something. It is all about him. His little princessita is in need
Of mental health help, oh he suffered so much. Wow even in the negative it's
All about him. Jerk!

Did mundito let his mother know how much moolah his toys are worth? Cuz she might deside to take it and run. I dont Trust her, how bout yall patio?

I didn't see this episode, my brother
Told me all about it. I'll go back and
See it later.

Lol the Chinese Guy that thinks the toy Is his ggg-grandfather, now that's a hoot.
JudyB I know where to come when I need a good laugh.

A fun read JudyB thank lots.

HIJAS

Thanks Diana, Doris, Andy and Steve for checking in.

Diana...The whole storyline on Estefania was strangely unconvincing. Her sudden turn towards murderous and malevolent just wasn't borne out by her previous actions and character. And then the sudden switchback to mature and responsible was also unbelievable. Think PLOT DEVICE rather than anything else.

Doris...I too find Todo el Mundo's goody-goody reactions to his unfaithful, abandoning wife's return too much of a stretch. Ditto for saccharine Teresa and her generous invite to be part of the celebration. We've got unbelievable saints, unbelievable sinners, and an annoying main couple. But...only four more days!

Andy...Yes, the very cute Steffi is "manning up" accepting the fallout from her actions and ready to take the consequences. Now it remains to be seen what shenanigans her deranged Dad will pull.

HIJAS

Hello again Rgv Chick and Nina: For some reason my earlier comment, which I wrote in the morning, didn't get posted until now. Maybe technical difficulties are "catching'.

Rgv Chick...I think Adela is going to get all the moola anyway. Mundito said he wanted to sell HIS toys so he could buy his newly found mama her own house. But whatevers. Teresa just seems happy to have TeM and his little guy to love. And evidently she's ready to take on Adela as a new BFF as well.

Nina...Glad I could make you laugh. I'm sure your patient loves having you around to help because your roll with the punches take on Life is good medicine. We all enjoy your rambunctious comments.

Everybody...Let me say just now that as we're nearing the end of this Hot Mess, I am just so very grateful to have had help from Doris and Anita in recapping. Without them I could never have made it. Too much other stuff going on here. When your own life becomes a telenovela, watch out. And that's why I love all my CarayCaray people to the nth degree! You're the best.

HIJAS - #76 - FREE AT LAST! AND THIS HAS WRAPPING-THINGS-UP WRITTEN ALL OVER IT -Part 1 of 2

The usual disclaimers and reader warnings apply today for today’s recrap. It is somewhat condensed, brief-ish, and includes a few vocab words, mostly because I cannot be bothered, and neither can y'all, and mostly because probably just four viewers (a/k/a The Patio) in the entire U.S.are only watching this for the Spanish.

- Stefy tells Daddy Dario she must face the consequences of her actions. Dario says not if he can avoid it!
- Stefy has the papers prepared to annul the marriage/divorce Sebastian (both terms were used although they are different in English/USA but both have the same goal) and nullify the pre-nup agreement.

- Dario has impeccable timing and walks into the room to hear this and he just is not having it. He is furious! If Stefy lets Seb out of the pre-nup, then Los Oropeza still have their million $.
-In another moment of mature sanity (really, writers? really?), Stefy tells Dario that it’s the least they can do after making Sebastian marry her. She has learned you can’t buy or force love. (Who is this person? Maybe her meds are kicking in?)
- Sebastian arrives to sign the papers, side-eyes Dario who gives Seb the death stare. Oh the testosterone and horn-locking. But it all goes civilly and the papers are signed, the guys stare each other down, again, as Sebastian leaves.

- BIG WELCOME HOME party for Juana Victoria
- Sebastian arrives home to the welcome home party for Juana Victoria. It’s a celebration for Sebastian. They are both FREE AT LAST! Victoria from jail, Seb from Stefy. Woot! Sebastian tells his family he intends to pay the million dollars back to Dario, with interest. We will have to find some capital investors.

-Adela seems to be part of the family now; part of the entire amoeba clan. Whatever. Raymundo is interested in her and TEM is all “let me introduce you!”. Looks like everyone will be paired up by the Por Fin (except Dario & Stefy)

- Mundito tells the clan about the antique toys they have sold and the money will be used to buy Adela a house, and he announces he has two moms: Adela & Tere. Aw. Whatever. Next?

-At the party, Octavio gets down on one knee, has a ring, and proposes to Sol. Of course, she accepts. Did we have any doubt? Nopis.
- Ruh-roh! It’s contagious. Javier asks Marga to marry him. Did she accept? Well, duh, yes.
- Seb and Vic look at each other, and we just know the thought bubble says “Dang! Too bad we can’t do that but we must keep the secret of your paternity and our undying love will go unfulfilled, yes, we must sacrifice our prohibited love based on Leonora’s lie", etc., yadda, ad nauseum.

-Meanwhile, back at the jail, Dario will not give up. He tells Stefy he will get her out of there and into that Swiss clinic. This recapper thinks DArio needs to check into the Swiss Clinic.
- Stefy has grown a spine. She tells Daddy Dearest “NO”, she is staying here and will face what is coming and furthermore, I want no. contact. with. you. (vaya!)

-Dario, in an effort to take his anger out on Los Oropeza and twist the knife, calls Leo. He asks her if she is aware that Sebastian and Victoria have known for some time that they are not half-sibs? Not related? at all?
- Cara de impactada de Leo! She falls onto the floor in a dead faint.

HIJAS - #76 - FREE AT LAST! AND THIS HAS WRAPPING-THINGS-UP WRITTEN ALL OVER IT

- Obligatory night beach scene #68 with Seb & Vic. You know the drill and the script. We all can repeat it in our sleep. Next?

- Leo did have a heart attack and had a stent put in her heart (or wherever those things go). The ENTIRE amoeba clan is there to applaud her as Juan wheels her out after her discharge. Looks like the operation was successful.

- Sebastian Skypes with Jerome, tells him he is looking for European capital investors for the hotel resort. (Okay, with Dario’s call to Leo and this Skype, looks like Jerome is not out of the picture yet)
-Apparently Jerome rounds up some potential investors, because we see Seb making a presentation to a group of 15-20 people. Victoria is there as his support/assistant/Vanna White and …. her hair still looks awful. ( Will they ever ditch that hideous moth-eaten wig she is wearing? I hope so.)

-Juana Barbara is outside with her trainer, stretching her quads and doing it properly. Good girl! She tells painter boy (Fernando) to come closer to talk, he says no way, he might get hit by her and then he’ll have to kiss her (what is this by now, a Pavlovian response?) and that would distract her. Some random guys are walking by, one confirms she is the boxer who is going to fight Barbie Juárez. Our Barbara asks if he wants an autograph, he replies --- no, I just want to see what you look like before Barbie J rearranges your face. Nice guy!

Final scene: Leo and Tere are watching the big boxing match on TV. The boxers have faced off and begun their match. Dario arrives, unannounced. He and Leo face off, too, and begin their match. Dario is here to discuss Sebastian’s paternity. He asks Leo if she realizes that is why Stefy hated Vic so much --- because she knew they are not half-sibs and are free to marry. Dario also says he doubts the kids will reveal Leo’s secret. He won’t either, in exchange for you fulfilling all my desires. Dun…dun…DUNNNN!!!
Cara de “oh crap” de Leonora!

And that’s all for today.

VOCABULARIO

“atenuantes” – extenuating circumstances (Stefy has “atentunates” with her arrest and crimes)
“amparo” – protection, refuge (opposite of desamparado, which means abandoned, as in Maria Desamparado from some old circo Mejía(I think) telenovela.

HIJAS

Love the title...I'm singing it right along with you...FREE AT LAST! Right now for Seb, but pretty soon for us. FREE AT LAST!

And this description was spot on:

- Sebastian arrives to sign the papers, side-eyes Dario who gives Seb the death stare. Oh the testosterone and horn-locking. But it all goes civilly and the papers are signed, the guys stare each other down, again, as Sebastian leaves.

Dario is either turning purple with rage and frustration on giving people the death stare throughout all of this lately. I will say, were he playing a nicer character, I might have found his Silver Fox shirt with his Silver Fox hair rather attractive today. But I digress....

And for sure Juana Victoria did look about as useful as Vanna White (but with worse hair). We are to believe this airhead has suddenly morphed into a sharpie in administration and management skills?! Uh, no...just no. Still an airhead. Not the actress but the character. Although I suppose if Estefania can flip from a lovely person to sociopath and then flip back to lovely person intent on maturing, then yeah, sure, why not? Juana Victoria is on her way to being a very stable genius.

Wow, now we have to worry about Leonora falling into Dario's meaty clutches? Hope that storyline doesn't continue. Yikes.

But looking forward to the Return of Jerome.

And you made me laugh with your intuition that only about four of us are interested in the Spanish. Guess you're right. But that's the only reason I'm watching. Too lazy to study my Teach Yourself Spanish books but hoping for some righteous osmosis watching these shows.

Those "estents", by the way, go in the arteries, not the heart proper. You must be one lucky lady to have a stent-less husband. Not many of those left these days. My hub has three. First attack got him two. But wouldn't exercise afterwards. Next year another one. Then I had to say if you don't exercise, I won't drive you to the hospital for the next attack. Next thing I knew he was in the program and on the treadmill. Tough Love is the only way sometimes.

JUDY - oh yes, tough love and a person who stands behind it will get their attention. There have been a couple times my hubby wanted to do something crazy like bungee jumping or some such. Both times, I calmly asked if his life insurance premiums were paid current. Yes was the answer, I said do what you want then, and he never did any of it. LOL

ME DECLARO CULPABLE

Looking ahead on the cable TV schedule, Comcast shows this starting in the HiJAS hour on February 17. Looks like HIJAS wraps up on the 1th or 12th, I can't remember.

Judy, lovely recap darling, simply hilarious.

J-vic looked really nice in the white
Suit. Why O why won't they change her
Hair? There's what 2 3 days left? What
Kind of evil damage can dopy Dario do?
And why don't loopy Leo just tell the Juana she Allowed another fishing pole in her lake of love and let the pieces
Fall where they may.

So the evil princessita has made a big
Turn around, while evil daddy Dario is
Sinking deeper in a pit of revenge hell.
He just trying to save face cuz he has
Failed as a father. His fathering skills are shot to hell.

So Dario is saying "I'll keep quiet if
You let me......?" Cuz she really did look scared. Dario is a dog. No, dogs are nice.

This is tv, Tere is being friendly wit
The ex that abandoned the baby & baby
Daddy. Well it is the end so all sorts
Of silliness will insue.(I guess I've spelled that Right)if not who cares y'all know What I'm saying.

So there's more than 2 or 3 days left?
No matter it ends eventually.

Thank you JudyB, Doris and Anita. Yall
Are Kind a identical with your recap Abilities. I can tell which is which.
I thank the wrong person, but youre all good with me ladies.

I'm now I'm done. For today.

HIJAS

doris, this had me laughing..."mostly because I cannot be bothered, and neither can y'all, and mostly because probably just four viewers (a/k/a The Patio) in the entire U.S.are only watching this for the Spanish. Just great.

"Oh the testosterone and horn-locking" was another favorite.

This storyline has hit the floor but you dusted it off and made it palatable.

The vocabulary was stellar.

So, life lessons from you and Judy tonight. Tough Love and Do As You Please. Thank you ladies, you've given me a lot to digest.

Thank you doris!

Diana

HIJAS

Doris, you had me laughing all throughout your snarktastic recap. Thank you! I was hoping for a turn around just like in "Mañana" but it just isn't happening. It seems that the worse things get on this excuse of a show, the better the snark gets. I like how you convey your feelings about the different scenes because they mirror my own feelings. I especially appreciated "yadda, ad nauseum." because this is how I'm feeling about these last episodes.

What a wonderful patio this is! Not only do we get some entertainment, but we also get "life lessons." Thanks, Doris and JudyB, for sharing :-)

HIJAS

Nina, "And why don't loopy Leo just tell the Juana she Allowed another fishing pole in her lake of love and let the pieces Fall where they may." LOL, now THAT is sidebar worthy! Thanks for cracking me up (in a good way) :-)

HIJAS

Doris, thank you for this fun recap. I'm sure it is much better than the episode that aired... and that I didn't bother to watch.

Hang in there, this TN is almost finished.

HIJAS #77 DARIO'S GOT LEONORA BY THE SHORT HAIRS

Part 1

Yes, Patio, our darling, if somewhat flawed Leonora, is in big trouble. Dario knows her guilty secret and is using it to blackmail her into all kinds of humiliating positions (noooo, not what you're thinking) and if that weren't bad enough, Jerome Frankurt has reappeared as the mystery investor who refinanced the miraculous Medio Luna reconstruction. Leo was miserable for most of the episode, except when she climbed on Juan's desk and seductively vamped her husband to reassure him Jerome was strictly old news. Now we know the secret of their happy marriage. But how's our Leonora going to wiggle out of this latest scrape. You'll probably have to watch till the bitter end to find out.

Here's what DID happen today. The director decided to intersperse scenes of Dario bullying Leonora with the boxing scenes between the two Barbaras. The match ended in a tie after our feisty Juana Barbara lasted 10 rounds and landed some good punches. Leonora on the other hand...well...dastardly Dario made her promise to do WHATEVER he asked, WHENEVER he asked, if he was going to keep her secret and protect her marriage. When he insisted on sealing the deal with a kiss, he pressed his lips to hers and ended up against a solid wall of matronly resistance. So he decides to go for humiliation instead. "Bring me a drink. You've gained weight haven't you? Put on something else. You look horrible in that. It's cheap and vulgar. Ah, forget about going out. That second outfit you put on looks like a bedspread. I'm leaving but when I call, you'd better hop to."

After he leaves, Leonora sinks to her knees and weeps.

Next day some suit shows up as Jerome's representative to buy 49 per cent of the Medio Luna shares. He names the company as Desarrollas Buenaventuras, but refuses to name his boss. He has power of attorney to sign all the papers. Juan, meanwhile is worried about Leo who is uncharacteristically morose and distracted. Tere shares the news that Dario was over last night which troubles him even more. And Leo is pouring out her woes to Padre Camilo who is sympathetic but doesn't have any solutions for her--other than "don't let Dario push you too far." So she leaves the office, just as upset as when she came in. And refuses to eat once she gets home. When Juan follows her to the bedroom to know why, she simply says "The heart attack made me see how old and fragile I am."

It goes from bad to worse. Next day we see her dressed in an apron waiting on Dario at his house. She brings him a chicken dinner. He throws it on the floor. She kneels and cleans it up. Bad stuff. But not too bad. Thank goodness this is an afternoon show!

Want some good news? Adela gets her new house and everybody's very happy, her, Ray, Tere, Todoelmundo and Mundito. Wouldn't it be great it all of life were this simple!?

We get a "meses después" and Seb's giving Dario a check for all the money lent plus interest. And the hotel has miraculously arisen from the ashes in just 30 days. Wow.
There's a grand inauguration party and all the Juanas and their beaus are dressed in various shades of blue. Really lovely. As usual, Juana Victoria is in an outfit the size of a postage stamp, and Soledad has the most feminine dress. But everybody looks good. All the Juanas get a lovely Media Luna pearl and gold pendant from their Papi and their certificates stating their new legal names as Oropeza. Everybody's over the moon happy except Leonora who looks chronically worried. And should be!

HIJAS #77 DARIO'S GOT LEONORA BY THE SHORT HAIRS

Part 2

Jerome shows up at the festivities and Juan recognizes him immediately as Leonora's old flame. He invites him to the office for a drink and a discreet grilling--just why did you want to invest all that money in our hotel? Jerome insists it wasn't to get back with Leonora. Sebastian contacted him, he thought the idea was great, and looked forward to investing in a Mazatlán booming business. So how about showing me around? In the course of things, Jerome ends up in a room with Sebastian and a burbling Vicky perched on his lap and learns, to his shock, that Seb and Vicky are fully aware that he's Sebastian's biological father. Cara impactada. The kids explain that they're crazy in love but can't be together. It would kill Leo. But the meeting ends in a big happy threesome hug anyway.

And that wasn't the only cara impactada. Todoelmundo has a cara impactada...pero feliz...when Tere tells him she's pregnant. Normally his adjectives go in threes--like give me a "pista" (hint) señal (sign) indicación (indication, duh) but this time we get an gushing overflow of terrific, fantastic, wonderful, awesome, fabulous, marvelous...well, you get the idea. He's delighted that his matronly novia is going to gift him with another child. (He's sure going to have to crank out a lot of videos if he has another mouth to feed, but this never seems to be an issue in telenovelas.)

Juan, meanwhile, thinks he knows now why Leo's been spooky. She knew Jerome was the mystery investor. Nopis, Jerome is a 25 year old memory. You're the one I love. And she slithers over the desk to plant a kiss on her hubby. But then she's off to celebrate Teresa's pregnancy. And Juan is still in the dark. Alas, her cellphone rings and it's Dario. No celebration for you kid! Get over here right now.

Now our sadistic director is interspersing scenes of happy couples declaring their love and joy, while Dario torments Leo some more. Here's how it goes: Mundito is just as happy as Mom and Dad at the idea of a growing family. Marg and Xavier are all gushy and huggy. Adela and Ray declare their instantaneous love for each other and kiss. Soledad has a "happy vision" and instructs Juana Victoria to go to the beach site where she and Sebastian first made love. When she does, she finds strategically placed love notes in red envelopes telling her how much he loves and misses her.

It's a Lovealicious Scavenger Hunt with Sebastian at the end!

Not so with Dario. He summons Leo to his home, hands her a huge box and instructs her to take off the trashy rag [porqueria] she's wearing (it's actually a lovely, full-length blue gown) and put "this" on. We're going out.

In another room, he instructs his flunkie Ricardo, who seems to be holding a camera, to "do what he's gotta do". It's bad. How do we know it's bad? Well, Dario licks his lips for one thing. And...he's Dario! Bad to the bone.

And there we end. And goshdarnit. They've done it. I can't wait until tomorrow to find out what happens. I'm worried for Leo. I'm worried for her marriage. I probably won't sleep tonight. RATS! The telenovela writers have hooked me once again.

Thank you , judyb, for recapping all the crazy.

"Matronly novia" ..pregnant . How old is Teresa supposed to be? Another shark jumped. Gah.

I am amazed at how the actor playing Jerome gets better and better looking as he ages. Fine wine

Judy, while I have very mixed emotions regarding the storyline, I have only the highest praise for your fabulous recap, another wonderful read.

Of course I loved "pista" (hint), "señal (sign)" and "indicación (indication, duh)"! "Lovealicious Scavenger Hunt" was also great fun.

"Dario knows her guilty secret and is using it to blackmail her into all kinds of humiliating positions (noooo, not what you're thinking)" had me smiling and glad you cleared that up right away.

One of the most painful things one endures in life is being deliberately and cruelly bullied and humiliated. I have nothing but loathing for Dario and hope he meets a bad ending (something I rarely say).

"a solid wall of matronly resistance" lifted me up though. It is not hard to get wrapped up in the characters, sometimes they become all too real. I think Leo will pull through this, I only wish Petunia were still with her.

Gracias mi amiga, this was great.

Thank you for another recap, Judy.

Poor Padre Camilo. He did not sign up for this Hijas gang’s drama, bless his heart.

Despot Dario seems to be enjoying his blackmailing Leo. I'm hoping he has an anvil equal to his badness.

Jerome’s cara de impactada was a hoot. The guy is a hottie, though.

Help me remember, please, how did Sebastian figure out Jerome is his bio-father?

”It's a Lovealicious Scavenger Hunt with Sebastian at the end!” And a lame one, at that. Gah.

Judy, thank you yet again for another excellent recap. Hang in there, Kid, the end is near and that's a good thing.

I'm surprised we had to wait so long to hear that Todo El Mundo and Teresa are pregnant. Did anybody really doubt it? TN confirmation that they are a good match.

Good morning Petite Patio...

Susanlynn...I'm guessing Teresa is supposed to be around 40. Most of my ancestors, kept having babies up until age 46. So, certainly possible. And nice that everyone is so happy about it instead of "Good grief!.." Also agree that the Jerome actor looks very nice as a Silver Fox. The actor who plays Dario also looked great as a Silver Fox in Juan Querendón. Some people just age well. Men seem to have a slight advantage in this regard.

Diana...Bless your heart you have stuck with us 'till the end, always on the sidelines cheering us on. And I agree, few things are as bad as being cruelly bullied and humiliated. Alas, Dario's "love" has turned to hate as he intends to make Leonora suffer as much as possible. He also feels that he still has a score to settle with Sebastian, in spite of the return of his "loan". So many knives still remain to twist.

Doris...On Jerome's previous visit, he admitted to Sebastian that he and his mom had had a relationship, but refused to say anything more. It was enough of a hint though that Seb and Vick decided to do a DNA test in Mexico City. And that test confirmed that they were not related in any way. And of course there was also the fact that Seb did not have a media luna on his backside.

Andy...Fertile and Feliz. Yes indeed. TN confirmation that those two are a good match. Years ago, I attended a lovely Catholic wedding where the priest read the Bible verse "May your wife be like a fruitful vine." And would you believe it, that's how our total surprise third child came to be! When I was 40. So just goes to show. Teresa can certainly handle this.

Thank you, JudyB, for this, the 6th to the last recap!!

Despicable Dario is so hateful! With so much stress Leo is under, I’m surprised she hasn’t had another heart attack. Maybe that is what DD is hoping for—he’d fulfill his wish of hurting JuanO and Seb in the worst way and he would have the satisfaction that Leo no longer is with JuanO.

Yay! For Tere and TDM! Looks like all the couples are headed for bliss...except for our mediocre main couple. Well, there are still 5 episodes left and lots can still happen. We can only hope that the writers get their neuron in order and give us a delightful ending... we can dream, can’t we?? :-)

Haha! I just noticed that I forgot the “s” for neurons...hmmm maybe i’m not too far off.

Judy - thank you for reminding me of that convo with a Jerome. Most of this telenovela goes in one ear and out the other. 🙄

JudyB another remarkable funny and a
Dasteredly troubling episode, that the
Recap made better. I did not see this
Episode either yesterday.

All the joy joy happy happy stuff that's going on is great, but I said
That Leo needs to tell her hubby about
What's happening. Or what happened 25
Years ago. He o'ded on happy Juice that gave him an eternal erection, 4 times. And she slipped and fell on Jerome. They both made some major
Mistakes, the kids are all grown up &
Happy now get over it and move on. Dashing Dario is Gonna give the poor woman a Heart Attack if something isn't done.
I think she is more worried about the
Shame she would feel, especially after she made such a fuss about the four jaunas. She even kicked him out of the
House and plotted with the princess from hell to hurt the Jaunas.

Ok it's on gotta go. Thank you JudyB.

Hola Rgv Chick, Doris again and Nina... Dang, for some reason I thought Friday was going to be the gran final. But I see Hijas is going to ooze into next week. Ah well, it's ending soon. Chickie, hopefully that stent will keep Leonora from having another heart attack, but I fear Henchie Ricardo might be getting compromising pictures of her changing into Dario's outfit...which I hope isn't some version of JLo's body suit at the SuperBowl.

Doris...Don't feel bad about forgetting that detail. I think it's best to just let any Hijas plot point flow through your mind and head for a fast exit. Better for the brain. Much better.

Nina...I'm in total agreement. Leonora needs to come clean with her hubby. Ordinarily, I don't condone confessing infidelity because it inflicts hurt on the betrayed partner, and serves no purpose other than to relieve the culprit's guilty conscience. In other words, totally selfish. But given the blackmail, and also given the fact that Sebastian and Juana Victoria are in love with each other, it seems both right and necessary. And Papi Juan seems to be an amazingly mellow and forgiving fella.
