La dona 2. Well, looks as if we may be down to one arcoiris, but I'm not betting on it.

Pacifico

novelera, they didn't show it very well but I thought the screen on the bomb vest came to life after the Doctor got away, putting Amalia into panic mode to get it disarmed, then later they blew up the vest.

I enjoyed the scenes last night with Paula and the Doctor, "want to play cops?"

a few things I gleaned, it's 60 episodes.

Bradley Jones, who came to Colombia with Pedraza, is ex U.S. military and now DEA.

"Majida Issa (Amalia) is of Lebanese and Italian descent."

"Majida is an Arabic name which means glorious and powerful."

Yes, SpanProf, in retrospect Eduardo's parents pleading with him on TV to turn himself in and negotiate may not have been a wise move, since Lucho also saw the TV interview and knew that he had to stop Eduardo from following his parents' advice. OTOH, without an accomplice, Lucho may not be able to continue his psychopathic killings. Will he be willing to give them up? Or will he somehow keep Eduardo as his accomplice, perhaps by some monstrous threat, such as threatening to kill one or both of E's parents? I guess we'll find out a bit tonight.

So the goodhearted but somewhat naive Dr. Adolfo lends Fer his cellphone. Dumb idea. I'm assuming she's going to call Braulio, who she thinks would never hurt her (hah! I doubt there's anyone Braulio wouldn't hurt).

LA DONA

"PACIFICO":

Deb: Majida Issa was on "Sin Senos" correct ?

doña2

Halimacandy, you're right. Throwing people's childhood traumas in their face is very dangerous. It's one of the few times we've seen Braulio really lose his cool.

Apparently Braulio can be charming if he chooses to be. He certainly charmed Sebastian's stupid sister. Sebastian tells her that Braulio is their enemy, and she again insists that Braulio would never hurt either of them. Sebastian insists, telling her that Braulio killed Mónica. To which Fer replies, "I don't think he was right to kill her, but I understand his reasons." Arrgh.

Alfonso Cabrál seems to be almost as bad as Braulio. Apparently Braulio simply wanted to steal the horses. It was Alfonso's idea to poison them. Yuck.

I wonder who the Monkey's family use as their tech person. Someone was able to get into the site where the horses were kept and set up hidden cameras that would enable Braulio, Alfonso, and Romelia to watch and listen.

Leon tells Noelia that Lucho may be the Arcoíris' leader. I've been assuming that we'll eventually see Lucho go after Isabela. Now, though, I wonder whether we'll see him go after Noelia as she tries to track him down.

Speaking of Isabela, I was pleased to see that she was happy for her mother when she learned that Regina and Daniel were in love. Of course, I fear her being so understanding makes it even more likely that she'll ultimately fall into Lucho's psychopathic clutches. My guess, however, is that since the writers already killed off Mónica, they won't do in Isabela as well. But who knows?

Just in case we were thinking that José Luis isn't all that bad, we see him subject the people he's hired to a harrowing session of Russian roulette, and it didn't seem to matter to him that innocent people might die. Fortunately, Felina gets him to stop.

The incompetence and corruption of the police are again on view. The policeman working with Leon drops a bunch of photos on the ground when Vidal comes to talk to him. He quickly tries to pick them up and leave, but he somehow manages to leave one photo behind. And after the guy (whose name I don't remember) leaves, Vidal picks up the photo and sees it's of Lucho. So of course Vidal calls José Luis to warn him that Leon is investigating Lucho. Papa then calls son, tells him Leon is investigating him, and warns him to stay off the streets. Son is upset.

We then get a lovey-dovey scene with Leon, Fátima, and Angel, so we know something bad is about to happen. And I knew what it would be as soon as I saw Leon start to back his car out of the driveway. With such limited visibility, it's astonishing he hasn't had multiple accidents before this. Anyway, sure enough, he backs out, and the car is immediately slammed into by another car, driven, of course, by Lucho, who is apparently wounded but able to drive away. Fátima races out, sees that both Leon and Angel are hurt, tries unsuccessfully to open the car doors, and screams for help. End of episode (of course).

La dona 2. I too had my suspicions of all that lovey-doveyness, Juanita. If Angel was killed, I may be done with this novela. At least 1 of the good guys deserves to have a happy ending. Killing off Leon's son would be going too far, wouldn't it? Lucho's act of aggression should make it easier for him to be caught, but once again, I'm not holding my breath.

doña2

SpanProf, I strongly doubt that the writers will kill off Angel, though I suppose with this group of psychoscribes, anything is possible. I suspect that a more likely (i.e. cliched) scenario would be his being in a prolonged coma. Sigh.

"LA Dona 2":

HALIMACANDY: Isabel will NOT be among the living. Bet on it!

La dona 2. I read an online entertainment article that said that the ratings for La dona 2 haven't been all that great. Maybe most of the public aren't S&M and psycho serial killer fans! Not to mention extremely cruel ways of killing or maiming people. Perhaps there is hope for humanity yet.:) (of course, this show isn't all that well scripted either and some plot lines just don't hang together).

La dona 2. My comment was deleted? Just because I said this show's ratings aren't great?

Yes. Majida Issa okayed Yesica La Diabla in “Sin Senos”

doña2

SpanProf, I can see your comment about the ratings for doña2. I am the administrator for this week's pages, and I assure you I didn't delete anything you posted.

I'm not watching this one because I missed the first season. And I sorta-kinda have a grudge about their, I believe, taking the bones of Doña Bárbara, one of my all-time faves and moving it from the llanos of Venezuela to some modern big city.

I have liked Araceli in everything I've seen her in, so I was tempted. But my fondness for Doña Bárbara outweighed this. I also read the Romulo Gallegos novel in Spanish during the time the novela with Edith González (QEPD) was on Telemundo.

pacifico

I'm caught up. The show is a bit too narconovela and they've gone through several thousand rounds of bullets. Not to mention the dozens of narco low-level guys shot down.

The Major is one evil dude. He got some poor prison worker bee to poison the Doctor, and then killed him when he says that the police are going to question him.

Pedraza is following the Major around so may be able to pin something on him. It's interesting how they do this. The Major steps into an elevator and some clean cut guy who looks like the CFO of a major corporation, but is a higher up in a cartel, is in the elevator. They discuss their business and no one ever gets a security camera photo of the two of them together.

There's a new twist concerning Amalia's sister, who I thought was the nanny in my first post, being involved with a "bad boy" and from their conversation, not for the first time. The guy tries to get Mariana to get money from her sister to pay a gambling debt. Mariana lies and says it's for fees at the university. Mariana is hit hard by an "enforcer", leaving a mark. And Sleazy Boyfriend hides in her apartment (or is it his) while she deals with this guy. But the black eye causes the whole thing to come out.

One thing that's sort of a tired plot point is everyone (her children, Mariana, the General) always ragging on Amalia to spend more time at home, to not risk herself in pursuit of the cartel, etc., etc. Every police show, whether in American TV or in Telenovelaland, nearly always features a cop who's so dedicated that they sacrifice their personal lives for their jobs. We're supposed to admire them for how much they want justice, but I get bored with the scenes of everyone telling this cop, whether male or female, to slow down.

Thanks, novelera! Maybe it's just a glitch in the system that said it was deleted when it wasn't? I can see it, but thought other people couldn't because it said deleted. I read the real dona Barbara many years ago as a college undergrad, and except for the gang rape in the main charcter's past, I can't see that this tn has anything to do with the original novel.

La DONA

FAMILY....LA DONA LADONA.... Let us send good thoughts ,it aint going any where!! for a minute....la dona ladona..
