SpanProf, I'm not sure whether I think Noelia did the moral thing, but she probably did the right thing to make her survival more likely. My hesitation comes because Pablo did not kill anyone IIRC, and he participated in making the snuff film only after Eduardo was killed and Lucho insisted that Pablo help him make the film (Lucho knew where Pablos's relatives live).

Halimacandy, I think Braulio's father was a member of a Basque terrorist group that had been fighting for independence from Spain for many years.

"LA Dona 2":

Yet Braulio wants Altagracia & Co., DEAD.

LA DONA 2CAP #31

JUANITA:

POPPA PADILLA.. scary bastard, and how the heck ..with more than +++30 years after Franco, do you remain a ..RePUblican?/Patriot??/ nationalista??..

..ironically I had a Spanish teacher in catholic school in the 1970"s ?? who asserted/ that Black shirt-Franco was correct?? OMG!!....

Felina ...morena ...CAT WOMAN..just .. CATPAW OUTTA THERE !!

okay ...Fernanda is stupid and Sebas ,you escaped death by the hair on wolfman's chin, his dad has him hemmed up.. however...no bringing ANY KIND OF HEAT.. right now!!

Juanita,

....you are too kind hearted, ..me: she should have taken a rock and weighted him down, crack his knuckles... dig a bigger dang hole,'F--'that'.. SHOW NO MERCY, the man was a grimy sloth ..a toerag , and a lazy no moral - flipflopping-undisciplined-pathetic-waste of space..!!

..... he had no compassion or strength character to rescue or at least not profit off of rape and death/murder..??

HALIMACANDY on the QT at the J.O.B...

La Dona 2. Juanita: At the very least Pablo was an accessory after the fact and at the time of his death was trying to participate in a murder, even if he wasn't pulling the trigger. Besides, in her weakened state, no way Noelia could have saved him, even if she had tried. At any rate, after all that hassle in finding her, I hope Noelia survives! Hallimacandy: The first time I went to Spain was during the last couple of years of the Franco regime. I was surprised that he was at least somewhat popular among some of the older people and a few conservative academic researchers I met there, mostly because of the well-organized and safe public order--that guardia civil really kept street crime down! :) Also, Franco was already sick and people were worried about what would come next. Fortunately, thanks in large part to King Juan Carlos, that worked out pretty well and Spain became a working democracy in record time.(Though the Catalonia question which Franco had kept tamped down still percolates.)

"LA Dona 2":

SpanProf: I hope you're right about Noelia surviving. However, with the trend of seeing villains emerging victorious (see El Capo in "ESDLC"), I doubt we'll have a happy ending here.

La dona 2. I keep hoping that the announcer will start saying "ultimos capitulos" really soon!

PACIFICO
I haven't had time to watch Thursday's episode all the way through nor Friday's at all. Did I miss something? How did Our Crack Team end up in El Gobernador's camp? I thought we chased him down river the night before. Can anyone enlighten me? Well, I'm willing to suspend belief (as in most telenovelas) and go with the flow of that river.

I'm in the same boat, Anita. Still haven't watched Thursday nor Friday. With all the 24/7 coronavirus, stock market mess, and politics, I felt a need for something soothing. Watched Nature on PBS about Arctic wolves and Nova about The Mysteries of Sleep. Nothing like PBS to calm the media fury.

Novelera—I’m with you there on things to worry about. You might be just the person to enjoy a PBS/BBC offering: Upstart Crow on cable. It’s a tongue in cheek, lush production of how Shakespeare arrived at the ideas for some of his plays. They are just finishing up “Season 3” but they can be found on YouTube. It’s my recommendation just for you.

SpanProf, I too am eagerly awaiting an announcement about últimos capítulos. Sigh.

I've been watching the episodes, but, like novelera, I've been focusing more on the spreading coronavirus and on politics. I'm in California, one of the many states holding a primary on Super Tuesday, which is THIS COMING WEEK! So I just haven't felt motivated to write about the telenovela. In fact, the less I think about the novela, the better. I might add, however, that I was furious a few days ago when far too much of the episode was devoted to Noelia's being forced to flee through the woods like the other victims of Arcoíris. In other words, we were being subjected to watching a snuff film. I don't know who Telemundo envisions as its audience.

"LA Dona 2":

SpanProf: We might get a 3rd Season.

LA DONA

SPANPROF:

YES... how could a half dead chick SAVE HIM!!! if only Pablum Pablo had shown some compassion..

thanks for Franco info...

Juanita:

yes ..you are going to MAKE IT THRU..... hang in there baby!!!

so TUESDAYS' A WASH!! OKAY!!??

Noelia HAS GOT TO MAKE IT!!

but Isabella, you have put your foot=in-your-mouth... WITH ALL the badmouthing you are doing.. they should let you BE THE STAR OF THE UPCOMING FILM..

...really??.. she accepted that bull crap about how:..'' WE NEED TO BE TOGETHER-- ALL THE TIME''.... haveyou learn nothing from the poor women at the foundation?????

leon , stand aside ...go to Fatima, Sebas..claim your woman...NOelia..the man has some heart..

some heart but no profession as AG called her television contact and sabatoogee the hot mess outta your career...don't mess with those women's plastic surgery!!oh -hell-nuh!!!

AG ..put UNDERCOVER GRUADS ON NOELIA... PROFAVOR!!!!!!!!!!

La dona 2. Steve: If there is a 3rd season I am definitely not watching! Juanita: I will be spending the afternoon canvassing for a political candidate here in Illinois. I can then tell myself that if that person loses, at least it's not my fault! And regarding la dona, all of the plot lines seem to be drawing to a close--if they are extended or if something new and disgusting is added, I will not be best pleased! I would switch to Univision at that time, but I think it's a Turkish novela, and it drives me nuts when lips and words don't match.

La dona 2. Halimacandy: Yep, I think Isabela wins this novela's stupidity award--and after all that training, as Diego pointed out. Will he possibly save her when Lucho tries to do her in? You would think someone of the younger generation of Altagracia's family might survive!

Part 1 of 2

Somehow, rather than losing Cesar (El Gobernador) down the river in a launch, Ortega, Pedraza, Jones and a couple of her team mates are in an encampment in the jungle chatting amicably with said Cesar. They are doing some negotiating—tit for tat, but first Cesar offers them a feast and a fiesta, with uniformed dancing. Ped dances with Ortega, but I can’t hear what they say to each other.

While Jones is taking a leak, he overhears Ped and Ortega discussing escape options and blame some attack on Jones, capture El Gobernador y listo. Ortega won’t agree to betraying Jones. Ped calls it justice. Cesar’s tit is to provide them with a way of capturing Mr. Eme and Ortega’s tat is supposed to be to let Cesar have some undisturbed time to rebuild the operation. It’s sort of a deal. Cesar makes the call and tells Mr. Eme the price of the two shipments of merca have gone up. Mr. Eme doesn’t like that, but heads for his office.

With a 30 min. lead time, Ortega turns around and arrests El Gobernador. He whines that wasn’t fair! Gen. Lopez arrives and there is an exchange of gunfire. Ortega hustles Cesar into a military vehicle but has to leave the rest of her team behind.

Left to their own devices, Jones lets Ped know he heard him and Ortega talking. Wasting no time, he hauls off and slugs Ped. They start to have a for real knock down, drag out fight. A bunch on onlookers gather until finally someone pulls them apart. During the fight, Jones sticks a cell phone in Ped’s pocket. Pedraza is put in a chicken yard with wire fencing around it. For some reason, Jones is left on the other side.

Ped calls Gen Lopez on the phone Jones slipped him and Lopez, not far away, organizes a plan to extricate the team. His men mount an attack. Jones goes back to the chicken yard while bullets fly everywhere and sets Ped free. They race for the rendezvous with a helicopter, but miss their ride back with Ortega, Lopez and the prisoner, El Gobernador. Ortega can’t hide her longing, having to leave them both behind, but Ped in particular. The two men retreat back into the jungle. By the riverside, they resolve their differences and then are rescued.

Back at Mission Headquarters, despite all the careful surveillance and planning, Mr. Eme (Mejía Montez) manages to elude them, with the help of Vargas, who at the very last minute was able to connect with Mr. Eme and warn him. Vargas picks up Mejía Montez and tells him he cannot use any electronic devices that could be used to locate him.

Part 2 of 2

Gen. Lopez congratulates the Secret Missionaries. Ortega calls the Gen. and, with both Jones and Pedraza, asks to talk to Ped. She tells Ped she wanted to make sure he was ok. She’ll be waiting for him on his return to Bogotá. Cesar is booked. Jones tells Ped he’ll step aside and leave the way clear for Ped with Amalia, as long as he’s not just playing with her. Ped assures him he’s not. Jones warns him not to be a douchebag.

It’s night time and Vargas has taken Mejía to a cemetery to kill him. He takes time out to make Mejía start digging his own grave. The task backfires when night watchmen approach and Vargas ends up with a dent in the back of his head from the shovel.

Ortega gets Susana, the TV reporter, to help flush out Mr. Eme. In addition to covering all public escape routes and his home, she wants TV coverage to plaster his face all over the airwaves. Ortega gives her an exclusive on what went down. Susana scribbles away and puts on a TV report of the capture of the participants in the drug raid—and the one that got away. Guess who is watching? Mejía. He turns off the TV.

Amalia returns to her home. She’s sadly aware that her marriage is over. She rejects Jorge’s desire to start over. Amalia tells him the divorce is a done deal.

Helena, the DA, is still trying to get information out of Pulido (Mr. Eme’s stand in). He wants his lawyer. Helena tells him there’s no one left to pay his lawyer's fee. He’ll get a public defender. It may be years before he gets out. He coughs up the name of the only contact he had, the lawyer—Castro.

Said Castro, drops by wherever it is Mejía is holed up. He offers to do what he can to get a reduced sentence if he turns himself in. Mejía declines the offer. In that case, Castro has brought him a new passport and money. He thanks him and then asks Castro to take him by his daughter’s school. Wearing a hoodie, he tells the girl he has to go away for awhile. As he’s talking to her, he sees Amalia, her two boys and their security detail walk up. Mejía panics, grabs his daughter and flees in Castro’s car. Amalia calls in the license plates and wants the information on the owner of the car.

Part 1 of 2

After Mejía grabs his daughter from school, he takes her to her mother’s house (she’s apparently an ex-wife), he takes his leave of them. Diaz and Arias arrive at the house right after he leaves. They tell the ex they have a warrant to search the premises, looking for Mr. Eme.

Mariana has sunk lower than low. She tries to reach Jorge but he’s not answering. She calls Wilson and gets some heroin (probably), injects herself and passes out. Wilson returns, sees her, picks her up and dumps her at the front door of the hospital. At first they think it’s an overdose, but Amalia realizes it was an attempted suicide.

Jorge talks to his lawyer about the divorce. He wants to go after her. The lawyer says it would be better for them if they could come to a mutual agreement. Jorge demands he just do it.

Castro, Mr. Eme’s lawyer drops Mejía off at a terminal. He was told not to fly so this might be a train or bus terminal. It doesn’t matter, because he is spotted by police and takes off.

Back at Mission Headquarters, Gaitán (Paula) reports the car Mejía fled in belongs to Castro. Ortega is sure he won’t get far. She’s interrupted by a call from Jorge. He’s on his way to the hospital because of Mariana. Amalia (since her hair is loose) leaves orders for her team and heads out. Ped follows her and takes her to the hospital. Mari is out of danger. Amalia visits Mari while Jorge and Ped glare at each other in the lobby.

Jorge reams Amalia out in the hospital lobby for neglecting her family. She’s the reason they are where they are—in a hospital. Amalia says he’s sick. Jorge says having sex isn’t a sickness; not having sex, yes, is a sickness. They stare at each other, then she strides out.

Amalia tells Pedraza she needs a drink. They do some canoodling right next to a sunny window, oblivious that Jorge has followed them in a taxi and is using his cell phone to take pictures of them. Over drinks, Amalia tells Ped the whole sorry story of Wilson, Mariana, the “abduction” and catching her and Jorge en flagrante delicto. Ped hugs her compassionately. He then apologizes for that KISS (the one at the café?). He admits she was vulnerable and he shouldn’t have. Amalia wants to know if he’d repeat it. He says indeed, but he doesn’t want to take advantage. Amalia looks at him seductively and tells Ped he’s not taking advantage of her. They exchange a few more words and longing looks and then she leans over and kisses him. They like it. (Jorge, meanwhile, is going crazy sitting in the taxi.) She suggests they find a more private place to discuss their differences.

That place turns out to be a No-tell, 4-star hotel. As Pedraza and Amalia go upstairs to their room, Jorge tries to get the desk clerk to tell him what room they are in, even offering a bribe, but she refuses. Amalia and Ped make love, at least twice. They cuddle and talk. He wants to go for round 3, but she must turn back into Ortega and get back to work. As they drive, he keeps reminding her that she owes him one. Ortega is now all business. At the top of the list is to capture Mejía alive. He’s the only connection they have to El Guapo.

Jones and Gaitán have been keeping an eye on Castro. They decide to follow him into the building, sure he’s contacting Mr. Eme, and take him. They have the orders to arrest Mr. Eme. But it’s not Mejía he’s coming to see—it’s Vargas. Vargas makes him an offer that’s hard to resist: take over Mr. Eme’s part of the operation. In return for lost of money, all he has to do is turn Eme over to Vargas. Castro says he’ll think about it.

Jones and Gaitán watch Castro leave the building. Thinking Mr. Eme is still inside they get ready to go in the building, they are surprised to see Vargas emerge. Jones calls Ped with the news.

Mejía calls his ex-wife, but won’t stay on the phone long enough for Rojas at Mission Control to locate him. Mejía tells his wife he’s ready to turn himself in, but in a secure place. She’s not to trust anyone, including the police because there’s one of them out to kill him. Diaz and Arias have been with her and now turn to searching the premises. The ex has packed a suitcase and flees. They’ve lost her.

Ped finally realizes they are being followed. He pulls a quick maneuver and blocks the taxi. Amalia and Ped both get out, guns drawn, ready to face the danger, but it’s just Poor Jorge climbing out of the taxi.
