Diana and RGVChick are providing recaps for “Ringo”; and, AnonFri is recapping “Amor Eterno” with assistance from Clara (good luck, ladies!!). If some other brave soul(s) would like to contribute a recap or just some highlights for RLPDSV or AE, I’m sure the help would be appreciated. You can also add to or clarify scenes/details, especially those that are favs or not-so-favs. The TNs covered by this page are:

7PM  - Ringo: La Pelea de Su Vida: Ep. 67-69
8PM – 11 PM Amor Eterno: Season 2, Ep. 153-157 (Tuesday: 9-10PM)

Friendly reminder:  PLEASE put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for. (You can shorten the title to one word, i.e., “Ringo”.)

Discussion pages will be posted on Mondays and Thursdays at 9PM.

RINGO

“Stop setting yourself on fire for people who just stand to watch you burn.”
― Nadège Richards - Part 1

“That as a matter of law, the truth is irrelevant. We have no knowledge the story is false, therefore we're absent malice. We've been both reasonable and prudent, therefore we're not negligent” – Absence of Malice

There are times we all rush to judgement. When aspersions are cast on another’s character, some process their known facts logically and dispassionately, keeping the human element out of the equation. Others are ruled by their hearts, where kindness, not logic, prevail. Some go with intuition, their “gut” feeling, analyzing the issue in their mind’s eye.

But when we are emotionally involved, objectivity can be elusive. Mind and heart meld, instinctively leading us to believe. Every fiber of our being forms a protective shell - to empathize, to comfort, to support - unconditionally. And yet, where love and trust should have bound Julia to Ringo, they evaporated, as her mind clouded with suspicion. Ringo is a shining example of how one partner should love and support the other. Conversely, while we expected otherwise, none of these qualities have been mirrored in Julia’s words or actions. Support when Santi was lost was silent. Fear and uncertainty are all that radiate from Julia’s eyes. Trust has dissipated and belief - shattered.

How are we to believe in their love when Julia herself does not?

A pizza party celebrating Santi’s return is interrupted as Damasio emerges like a madman, chasing a shirtless Rafa. Randy Candi is in hot pursuit, readjusting her clothes behind her father as he rants. Damasio jumps in the ring screaming his innocent daughter was dishonored and tells Rafa to put up his dukes (so to speak). Oso asserts that this is not going to be settled with fighting.

Julia and Eva are still out, getting toasted (and no, they are not at a roast 😊).Julia sighs about Ringo’s manly attributes. Random average dude comes up, asking Julia if those eyes really belong to her. Julia wonders how many times that line has worked for him.

Damasio confronts Rafa with Oso and Candi present. Candi tries to speak but Dam throws her out as this is a discussion between men. Ack. She sits on the bench in tears as Rosa comes out. Rafa is the love of my life Candi stammers. Yes, along with Pepe, Guachin and anyone else crossing your path Rosa interjects. Caught in her own lie, Candi stares mournfully.

Part 2

Damasio continues to cry about his innocent daughter. Oso begs to differ (respectfully) but it falls on deaf ears. Damasio says he needs to do the right thing and marry Candi! Oso concurs that he has little choice – if he doesn’t he could go to jail – Candi is still a minor. Impactada all around.

Julia and Eva’s dude has joined them, chugging shots. A woman walks up and slaps him and he leaves in hot pursuit. The girls giggle and toast.

Gloria swears to Ringo that she will never take her eyes off of Santi, she was so scared. Ringo points out that he felt the same way when she took Santi to the States. When he mentions that his fear was that Diego was fulfilling his threat, Gloria knows that the threats stem from his relationship with Julia...he should stay away from her because Diego might act on his threat. After Gloria leaves, Ringo looks at a (very pretty) picture of Julia on his phone. He gets his bed (actually his couch) ready as Julia arrives home and stumbles into bed, moaning and clutching her head. Ringo she mewls as we roll our eyes. She looks out the window but he is not on duty and she sits in a chair.

Susana and Guevara are discussing a strategy for Alejo while training.

Rosa tells Oso “I told you so” after Oso tells them that Rafa might have to get married if Damasio insists since Candi is a minor.

Turco comes in with perpetually unhappy Andres. Aren’t you going to congratulate me? He introduces his “son” and calls Teresa Andres’ grandmother. Andres looks like he wishes the earth would open and swallow him whole. Alas, it does not and he leaves. Teresa takes off on a date to dance with her boyfriend.

Julia and Aspman are at the office. She is short with him as Diego wonders why Julia didn’t tell him he was going to start working. She tells him she didn’t feel like she had to tell him; she then asks that he arrange a meeting with the area managers.

Julia is giving said presentation. Ahhh, Sandra is there, sitting quietly on the sidelines. I ask (again) why she isn’t screaming about Diego stealing her father blind. It must be because the rat who stole the cheese is sitting right there, giving her the stink eye. Julia thanks her as Sandra eyes Diego a bit fearfully. She hopes to return to her former assignment. Diego intervenes and tells Sandra that they need her in the warehouse to keep an eye on things.

Ringo talks to Oso about setting up a match for Rafa. He warns Oso that if he doesn’t set up a match, Rafa might look elsewhere to fight; Oso need to find a good opponent for him. Oso then reminds Ringo that he needs to find someone that he can fight too.

Muñeca goes to see Rosa who is very excited to see her. Rosa compliments here which she eats up, preening ear to ear. When Rosa mentions that Oso has told her that they had talked, Muñeca wonders if Oso told her everything. Rosa tells her that he did tell her and that’s why she bought Muñeca some candy. Muñeca assumes that Rosa knows exactly what she wants and grabbing her in a fierce, one arm embrace, plants a kiss on her. Rosa is shocked and pushes her away. After Oso comes in, Muñeca is very upset and tells them the she will not play their games and storms out. Once gone, Rosa asks Oso to explain so he tells her about Muñeca’s stipulation. Rosa is very disappointed and chides Oso for not telling her right away; she doesn’t know if she can trust him again. Oso tries to explain it was all a mistake as Rosa cries. Yet another misunderstanding. Rosa does not appear to be inclined to forgive this time. Ack.

Diego then tells Sandra he wants to have a serious conversation or she may lose her job. He understands her more than she knows; they are both hurting because of Ivan’s death. He advises that she enjoy her new assignment because he would hate to lose her. Before leaving, he mentions that he has met her son at the Garay house...she should take good care of him because something bad could happen to him.

Part 3

Rosa tells Julia about her situation with Muñeca who came for her “candy”. She rants for a while since Oso gave her high hopes but now everything is over with her match. After Julia gets a call and sighs, she tells Rosa that she worries because she will have to leave her clinic since she will be taking over at the company. Rosa suggests that she ask Sandra to help at the clinic...she will ask Sandra if she is interested. When Julia advises Rosa not to give up on Oso because of a misunderstanding, Rosa wonders why Julia doesn’t take her own advice...but Julia thinks her case is different. Yes, of course it is Julia (eye roll).

My man Turco is with Junior at a clothes store. They pose for pictures. A less than thrilled Andres doesn’t like the place or the clothes.

Oso tells Manuel and Dam about the confrontation between Rosa and Muñeca. He then tells Damasio that he needs to help him find an opponent for Rosa. Damasio refuses until they plan the wedding for his daughter and Rafa. Oso tells Damasio that he needs this to resolve this first. Manuel suggests that the get La Japonesa to fight Rosa but Oso shoots down the idea; he will have to talk to Muñeca.

Sandra calls the attorney who presided at the reading of the will, asking to meet with her privately.

Rosa introduces Julia to Sandra and leaves. Julia explains her situation and Sandra is willing to work there as she needs to practice her occupational therapy and this would be a good opportunity.

Oso goes to talk to Muñeca who is still angry, but Oso won’t leave until she hears what they have to say.

Diego tells Bruno to keep an eye on Sandra; he doesn’t trust her. Bruno will get Vicente on it.

Ringo goes to Julia’s office since he needs a prescription for his mother. Susana tells him that Julia no longer works there; she is now in charge.

Turco leaves his house but then returns for something.

Damasio tells Rafa that he will have to work to support Candi; he has already talked to the priest and he can marry them In three weeks.

Oso enters and tells them that his meeting with Muñeca did not go well. As they talk, they hear a news report about Muñeca falling out of her second floor apartment. She has not been able to give a statement. The guys looks suspiciously at Oso who can’t believe they would think he had anything to do with what happened to Muñeca.

Part 4

Ringo gets home as Gloria is setting a candlelit table. She tells him that Santi is staying at a friend’s house and Teresa is at her dance club. As soon as Ringo sees the setting, he immediately tells Gloria she is there as she is Santi’s mother and needed a place to stay. He leaves immediately, showing he is not interested. Gloria looks upset, her bubble has burst - there will be nothing between them.

The guys continue to wonder if Oso was involved in Muneca’s accident. Rafa defends Oso who is upset that they would even begin to think such a thing. Rosa then calls and Oso quickly tells her he had nothing to do with it. After they talk a while, Rosa asks if he had something to do with it and Oso chides her for thinking that...just like the others.

At the cafeteria, Oso is still dealing with the doubting Thomases when a detective comes in to question Oso. Everyone assumes that they are going to arrest Oso. It’s my fault Rosa asserts, standing in front of Oso. Rosa even tells them that he did it for her. Oso dramatically puts out his arms for the handcuffs! The detectives explain that Muñeca stated that someone broke in and she tried to escape through the window but fell. The detectives ask if Oso saw anyone suspicious and Oso tells them that he did; so they take him in for his statement. Rosa tries to apologize but Oso tells her “Not now.”

Turco enters as Andres tries to leave but the door is locked. They get into it because of the locked door but Turco only did it as a safety precaution. Geez Turco, can you return this kid for one who is at least capable of a smile? Sullen and surly does not a sweet son make.

Ringo sees Julia packing her car and wonders why she is leaving. Julia explains that she has to take over the company and wonders why Ringo is questioning her...since he has Gloria living with him. Ringo explains about Gloria; then tells her that he just wants to apologize since he was so curt with her when she called to ask about Santi. She tells him not to worry about it. When she asks if there is anything else he wants, he says “no” and wishes her luck at the company. As tonight's episode fades away, Julia watches him walk away, eyes steely, coated with an icy glare…

RINGO

Thanks to our Rgv Chick whose gracious and instrumental assistance is as always, gratefully appreciated!

Misunderstandings are rampant. And endless, aren't they?

And I dearly wish there could be more than two or three lines of dialogue before the scene switches. Well, I can dream!

Diana

RINGO

Diana, you always find such befitting quotes which encapsulate the various situations in an episode...and with these episodes which are riddled with such quick transitions and varied (brief) situations, that is a tremendous feat. Bravo, amiga, for the quotes and the stupendous prologue.

I dropped in briefly to make a clarification which is needed due to my error. In my haste to send some dialogue in the scenes where Rosa was talking to Julia in her office at the club, I wrote “Sandra” when it was actually SUSANA whom Rosa suggested could help Julia and later introduced to Julia.

Sorry for the confusion. I’ll comment on the episode tomorrow. Good night, all!

RINGO

Rgv Chick, thank you so much! I am on the first one or two scenes when at least 4 to 5 have already passed. Far too much of a lightening speed. Without your all observant eye, many of the scenes are so fleeting, I could not even comment on them. Appreciate the clarification - of course I didn't notice the name exchange as I was too busy frantically writing.

Thank you for your kind words.

So, since we began recapping, I always knew the theme of Tuesday's prologue Monday night or by the time I woke up Tuesday.

While things are moving (slightly), the plot overall seems to be standing still. I've bashed Julia enough. Bottom line is that even now, nothing has come to me. Therefore, there will no prologue tonight. I would rather try to come up with a good title than come up with something just to post something.

Andres disturbs me. I have a feeling something bad is going to happen but what it is, I do not know.

Long day today and it's Super Tuesday so voting after work is a must for me.

Again, thanks Rgv Chick!

Diana

"RINGO":

Diana: Good luck on Super Tuesday.

Plus I'm taking major precautions here in San Antonio, TX with the Coronavirus spreading all over the world.

RINGO

Diana, I do not know where or how you continue to find your wonderfully appropriate quotes. Thanks for those and your equally wonderful intro and recap.

“How are we to believe in their love when Julia herself does not.” said it all as well as “While things are moving (slightly), the plot seems to be standing still.” Well, things are going to have to start moving soon since last night was #67 of 82 episodes.

The whole Rafael with the MINOR “Randy Candi” (as you so aptly described her) is a great PSA. Whoopsie! And Rafael has put himself in a difficult situation with possible lifelong consequences to extricate himself from. Doesn’t take much.

I cannot even get started on the Julia or Gloria situations, so I won’t.

Oso needs to start using his head and thinking before opening his mouth or doing anything. Geez, Rafael didn’t fall far from that tree.

Anyway with all that being said, I still am eager to see what the writers have in store for these characters tonight.

Looks to be another lovely spring like day close to 50!

RINGO

Jarifa, you are so kind - thank you.

I really appreciate your kind words Jarifa. To be honest, I totally struggled with last night's prologue. I wrote one on Saturday and then completely changed it Sunday. The title was a last minute quote I found (also changed a dozen times). Ack.

You are completely spot on about Rafa note falling far from the tree! Ack.

Gloria is many things but stupid isn't one of them. I hope her crestfallen expression meant she might have finally learned her lesson, but...I still would not mind if she and Turco got back together.

I am a bit annoyed that the writers have the characters running in place at the moment, but I still love this show. I hope we get to see a bit more of my favorite couple Oso and Gauchin!

It was 65 here yesterday so we are enjoying good weather too. Until the weekend when it will snow :)

Diana

RINGO

Wow Diana, week after week you amaze me. "Stop setting yourself on fire for people who just stand to watch you burn." Words of wisdom indeed. And I loved these paragraphs so much I've just got to quote them again:

This was insightful also:

Andrés looks like he wishes the earth would open and swallow him whole. Alas it does not and he leaves.

I don't blame Andrés--he's being paraded around like an organ grinder's monkey. Turco has stripped him of his name, his IDENTITY, and is now buying him clothes that are equally foreign and unsuitable for him. This is emotional abuse, using an orphanage kid for your own needs. In fact poor Andrés may have been fearing something worse--which would explain his hostile attitude. Anyway, I hope there's a PSA here--not for this poor, hapless kid, but for thick-headed adoptive parents.

End of rant. Aren't you glad?

Also loved this:

[Sandra] it may be because the rat who stole the cheese is sitting right there and giving her the stink eye.

And Diego is certainly good with his veiled threats--both about Sandra's son Rafa and Ringo's son Santi. Can't wait to see this snake crushed underfoot!

Superb recap, Diana--you're a woman who thinks with both her heart and mind. Quite a combination.

"RINGO":

Judy: Nice rant! I'm assuming one of the Antagonists pissed you off ?

RINGO

Diana, I think I spoke too soon.We are having snow showers this a.m. : ( but it will be better later. At least at this time of year, you know the end is in sight.

JudyB, excellent comments about Turco’s treatment of Andrés. I wonder when it will create crisis. It has to be there for something.

RINGO

Judy, while I appreciate your kind words, you've given me something to think about.

"Turco has stripped him of his name, his IDENTITY, and is now buying him clothes that are equally foreign and unsuitable for him. This is emotional abuse, using an orphanage kid for your own needs. In fact poor Andrés may have been fearing something worse--which would explain his hostile attitude".

All I saw was a surly, ungrateful kid. You are so right, he was plucked and plopped somewhere he is not comfortable with and likely doesn't want to be.

And yes, who knows what happened in his past?

Thank you for once again urging me to delve deeper and to realize things may be the way they are for a reason.

Diego threatening children is a low level - even for him...

Thank you amiga for your razor sharp insight.

Kemal sits in his office when Zehir suddenly comes in to report that they’re almost ready to buy the last property but the owner insists on seeing him. Kemal simply says ok, and Zehir notes that something is wrong. Kemal says that he’s thinking about Asu because he decided to continue with the engagement. Zehir looks displeased, asking Kemal if he’s sure of what he’s doing. Kemal says that he is, but he doesn’t seem so sure. He sulks in thought.

Leyla and Ayhan lean against Melahab. He tells Leyla that the area is known to have many rice plantations, and that it is very hard work to extract the grain from the water. He calls it a blessing. Leyla, however, tells him she’s upset that they didn’t take her car instead of Melahab. Ayhan counters that he doesn’t know how to drive an automatic car, and he didn’t want her to drive either- there’s nothing wrong with that. Leyla can’t believe that he can’t drive an automatic car, Ayhan says that something that doesn’t require any real effort bores him. Leyla says “Oh god, you don’t even accept that you’re antiquated.” Ayhan says that it’s none of that, but rather he enjoys living in the present. He gets sidetracked and says that her head scarf makes her look beautiful. Leyla asks him what he means by that. Ayhan stands before her, asks her to look at him first and then to look at her reflection on his car. She does it, then asks “And?” He tells her to walk away, then look back at him and Melahab, and realize that she’ll always be looking at all three of them: “You, me and Melahab. So just go into your imagination, dream and tell me what you see.” Leyla stares at him unamused and says she sees two people stranded with an old car. Ayhan starts feeling hopeless that she’ll never let go of her restrictions and use her imagination. He asks her to let go and allow herself to feel, see and imagine the situation the way he sees it, which is very different from hers. He adds that whenever he’s with her he feels like he’s in a movie, but that he also gets exasperated because he feels he’s throwing a rope out for her to reach, yet she doesn’t. Leyla retorts that anyone watching them from a distance would apparently be filming a tv series, but Ayhan says no, it would be an old original Turkish film. He gets back to work on Melahab as Leyla smiles and starts asking him what else he has to say about the rice plantations. Ayhan looks at Leyla and says that he only told her that for entertainment. Leyla jokes that the film ended right there and then. Ayhan closes the hood and says that right now they need to deal with reality: “You and me, were stranded. This won’t work.” Leyla asks if he’s serious and he says of course, he does that every so often. Leyla looks away, dismayed. She asks what will they do now. Ayhan lifts his arms in the “I don’t know” gesture.

Asu walks the halls of Kemal’s business corporation, when he steps out of his office and sees her approach. He asks her why she didn’t stay home. Asu says that staying out keeps her mind clear. When she’s about to walk away from him, he holds her back and says that he will visit her tonight because they still need to talk about themselves. Asu looks slightly hopeful, but tells him that she has no intentions of forcing him to marry her. He replies that she’s not forcing him at all. Asu looks at him carefully as he looks at his empty ring finger. He says that he made a decision, but they will speak later at night. She barely does a fake smile, agrees with him and then walks away. Kemal watches her with some contempt.

Asu reaches her desk and sits down, pulling out Kemal’s letter to the extortioner. She lights it up and watches as the letter is engulfed by the flame. She then makes a phone call to the accountant, asking her to send over the reports of all the financial transactions done in the past month, for both herself and Kemal. She wants the reports done by tomorrow, and threatens the lady that if Kemal finds out about this, she will get fired.

At the Kozcouglu mansion, Nihan plays with Denise and a stuffed rabbit, when the door rings. Eda rushes to open the door, and Emir enters the foyer, demanding that she tell Shaffaq to meet him in the study right now. Nihan comments to Emir that he came early today, and he coldly says that he’s tired. As he walks away, Nihan looks anxious about his early alien presence in the home.

In the dark study, Emir takes a pill and then sits down on his couch. He calls Asu to ask if she’s made progress yet. Asu coldly replies that she’s gotten started already, and Emir retorts that it makes him feel much better hearing it. She hangs up and fiddles with her engagement ring.

Shaffaq knocks on the door and Emir allows him to enter and sit next to him. Emir taps the sofa cushion to give Shaffaq permission to sit down. He begins his attempt to manipulate Shaffaq: he brings up that Shaffaq needs to let go of his feelings of inferiority, and that he could do so by furthering his education and going to good schools. Shaffaq says that he hopes to do it someday, but Emir says he hopes to send him to England with a scholarship. Shaffaq can’t believe it, and holds his gaze to the floor. Emir asks him to stop doing that, then asks if he has any romantic expectation with Eda holding him back. Shaffaq blurts out that Hakan won’t let him go. Emir says that he’ll convince Hakan, and mentions that Shaffaq is one of the few people he likes. He taps his shoulder. Shaffaq looks scared and says thank you, then heads out the door. Emir remains sitting, satisfied that he’ll be getting his way.

Leyla sits in the driver’s seat as Ayhan is pushing Melahab. He’s getting tired and tells Melahab how could she do this to him, and tells Leyla not to step on the brake. She asks him to hold on a little longer, then he’s heard saying that he loves Leyla so much and that she has completely captivated him. When she asks him to repeat what he just said, he says he’s very happy that they’re finally getting somewhere, and that he enjoys pushing the car to the gas station. Leyla appears entertained by all this, and Ayhan is heard struggling. They pass a sign that states the gas station is five kilometers away. Poor Ayhan!

Shaffaq stands in the porch of the mansion, looking at his cellphone. He finally has the courage to call Hakan, and asks him to listen without getting angry. Hakan listens and gets upset but hangs up the phone, starts kicking his office chair and immediately calls Emir (who’s still in his study and was waiting for that phone call anyway). Hakan demands to know what Emir is trying to do. Emir calmly says that he’s punishing him for having given Kemal the recording. He gives Hakan two choices: 1. He behaves according to plan and gets to keep Shaffaq at his side, or 2. Shaffaq leaves and Hakan would be on his deathbed when he finally gets to see him again. He asks Hakan to choose. He wants him to call back when he finally makes his choice. Hakan seethes as the call ends.

Shaffaq sits by the kitchen counter as Nihan is preparing a meal for Denise. Nihan notices that he looks upset, and asks him if he’s worried about something. Eda watches, and Shaffaq answers that it’s nothing. Nihan replies that she doesn’t think it’s nothing, so she asks him again if he will say what’s going on. Shaffaq answers that Emir wants to send him to England to study. Nihan notices Eda’s stunned reaction, then says “I don’t know if that’s good or bad news.”

Emir walks up to Denise’s bedroom. He stares at the baby from the entrance at first, then approaches her crib and turns off the baby monitor. He looks at her somewhat tenderly and says:
“I wish I could love you Denise. I wish you were my daughter. I keep thinking about that since the day you came. What must it feel like to have a baby with the only woman that I love? Everyday you look more like your mother.” Denise makes a sound and smiles back at him. He continues “She’s the only person that I want to see in you.” Denise continues smiling and pulling on a beaded string. Emir smiles. “Someday you’ll ask me how I had so much patience…you’ll stand before me and ask ‘Why did you want me to be your daughter?’ And I will tell you the same thing that I’ve been telling myself everyday: I wanted to bring you into this world because I wanted you to be mine, but you’re not.” He tries to hold back his tears and starts touching her chin, decides to stand and walk away, but Denise starts complaining and he thought he heard her say something, so he stops and looks at her wide-eyed. “What did you just say? Did you call me dad?” Emir turns hopeful, but is interrupted when Nihan comes into the room and he slowly turns around to face her, looking defeated. Nihan is surprised and checks up on Denise, asking if something is wrong with her. Emir tries heading out the door but Nihan stops him and asks if everything is ok. He says he’s feeling pain, and Nihan starts asking him why he’s sending Shaffaq far away. Emir replies that he’s doing it out of mercy, and finally exits. As he closes the door, he hears Nihan coddling the baby, and almost half smiles as he continues on his alien affairs.

Fehime is home, looking at the photo of a newborn Denise. She says “You’re a wound in my heart, the one that you made. Every morning I wake up and patiently wait for the moment when I can finally speak to your photo. Do you really think that I don’t wish to go ahead and speak to you in person? But I can’t, because you’re forbidden for me, and everyone else. Forgive me, baby.” She holds the photo to her lips and heart.

As evening settles, Kemal is going up the elevator in Asu’s apartment building. He asks Leyla over the phone if they finally arrived in Zonguldak. Leyla is in a hotel room and says that they have finally arrived, but will go out to the hospital tomorrow morning. Kemal says he’s confident that Ayhan will protect her, but Leyla says he shouldn’t be so sure about that. She changes the subject and asks Kemal if he’s certain about what he’s about to do tonight. Kemal says that he is. Leyla asks him what his motives are, and assumes that he’s doing it to protect Nihan. Kemal replies that he feels this is what’s best for everyone. Leyla starts to play with his doubt: she says that whenever Kemal gets confused, he ends up losing control of the situation. She asks him to take extra precautions. Kemal assures her everything will be ok, and Leyla says she wishes she were with him right now. She hangs up, and Kemal approaches Asu’s apartment door.

Asu is in her apartment and serves Fehime and Hussein some tea. She’s not sure if their visit is a good idea, because Kemal is on his way. They assure her that everything is fine. Kemal rings the doorbell and Asu rushes to open it. She reports to him that his parents are here, but that she had no idea they would do this. Kemal asks “You’re that scared? To annoy me, or to hurt me?” Asu is taken aback, but replies that she’s afraid of both. Kemal enters and tells his parents that he’s glad to see them there, so that they can be witness to what he’s about to say. He hugs Fehime

Leyla takes her tea and steps out to the cold balcony. From the other side of the wall, Ayhan asks her what she spoke about with Kemal. Leyla chides him for having been eavesdropping, but Ayhan says that the walls are too thin. Leyla takes her comment back and asks if they will find something tomorrow that could help Kemal. Ayhan says that he was just thinking the same thing: he’s not sure if finding something or finding nothing would be more helpful. Leyla says she can’t understand why Kemal’s life is so complicated. Ayhan says that it’s because of his love for Nihan- Kemal thinks he’s at the steering wheel but doesn’t realize that he’s been on autopilot for so long. Soon Leyla surprises Ayhan because when he turns around he finds her standing in his room. He smiles and says “You can make anyone lose their head, Cleopatra.” Leyla says that his door was open, so she decided to come in. She asks if he has an extra blanket. Ayhan tells her not to worry because he’ll look for it. Eventually he comes to the balcony with one, and tries to place it over her. She thanks him and walks back to her room. Ayhan is left talking to himself and saying “No, it’s actually thank you, to you.”

Kemal tells Asu that he wanted to apologize to her. Asu doesn’t look too thrilled, but tells him that there’s nothing to forgive. Kemal says that there is, that he found out who was the person who sent the fake news to the media. Asu starts to look a little nervous. Fehime interrupts and asks who did it. Kemal says that it doesn’t matter anymore, but that it was someone from work who was trying to hurt her. He apologizes to Asu again, adding that he shouldn’t have doubted her to begin with. Asu can barely hold his gaze, as Kemal says “I’ll always trust you now.” Hussein interrupts and asks Kemal where his ring is. Kemal says that the ring is in this apartment. Asu looks uncertain, asks if she should retrieve it for him, and gets a reassuring smile from Fehime. As Asu goes to her room to find it, Kemal looks uneasy.

Nihan is walking the hallway of her home when she passes by one of the living room areas and notices Emir standing outside in the porch. Emir is on the phone, telling Zeynep that tomorrow she’ll have to explain why she’s disobeying him and doing things out of her own accord. He adds that he’ll decide what he’s going to do to her, afterwards. When he hangs up, Nihan runs in the hallway, back from where she came from.

Nihan carefully opens the door to Emir’s room, sneaking in as he’s showering. She finds his cellphone sitting on the front desk, and she immediately silences an alien phone call. She starts fiddling with the phone and notices that he had just spoken to Zeynep. She looks upset, then rushes back to her room just as Emir walked out of his shower. He walks to her door and calls out her name, saying that he needs to talk to her. He enters her room, and she stares back at him. He sits on her bed, and says “You know that I want to believe you, right? You know that my war is for you. I don’t feel well. I’m tired of fighting for your love when you’re in love with someone else.” Nihan comments that he sounds like he wants to get a divorce. Emir admits that sometimes the thought comes to his mind, but later he feels like he’s going crazy. So nope, they’re stuck with each other. He calls her his sin, and that though he wishes things weren’t like this, he’s as close to her as he can get. Nihan rolls her eyes.
Emir says “What if someone out there loves me? Someone innocent and without any judgments of me? I’m talking about Denise. Like it or not, you can’t prevent it.”
“Not a chance, Emir.” Nihan says. “You’re capable of causing so much harm to an innocent child. Despite knowing that I’m your sin, you’re still capable of bringing hell forth.”
Emir saddens a bit, stands up to leave, but says “Today when I saw Denise…it was the first time that Kemal didn’t come up in my head.” He finally leaves, and Nihan is left disturbed with his comment.

In a Zonguldak hospital, Leyla presents herself and Ayhan as “Melahat and Nadir.” Everyone takes a seat and Leyla tells the director that Kemal sent them here for a favor. Ayhan starts correcting her, saying that she means that Kemal directed them to come to this office for his help. The director admits that he was aware of their visit because Kemal had already called about them. Ayhan starts acting his part and says that he’s here because his sister asked of him-on her deathbed-that he find the lady who helped her so many years ago, and that if he cannot find the lady, then he should at least find her daughter so that the inheritance is left in her name. The director says that he can take them to the archives, and that he owes Kemal a lot because he saved his brother five years ago during the mining accident. Leyla and Ayhan look happy, but the director tells them that he has no one to help them with their search. Leyla says that’s ok, how hard can it be? Soon they’re both seen in an archives room, searching for physical files. Leyla comments that she actually believed they’d be able to search in a computer. Ayhan says that it’s fine, they’ll figure this out and develop their system to find the birth certificate. When Leyla finds a 1991 file, she says “jackpot!” She pulls it out and Ayhan starts singing her praises again. She asks him to shush.

At Kemal’s business office, the accountant brings Asu a copy of the financial reports for the past month. She highlighted the many transactions that should interest her. Asu notes that they are from Kemal’s account, and she asks who was the recipient of those transactions. The lady responds the only person who has that information is Kemal. Asu excuses the accountant, and continues to look over the highlighted portions.

Alien phone call to Emir: Asu reports that there definitely were several movements in the business, so it’s obvious that he’s bought several shares somewhere. Emir asks her to find out who received that money. Asu says that she cannot investigate any further, but Emir suggests that she take several vitamins before embarking on her search again. Asu asks him to cut if out because this is getting dangerous. Emir says that he knows it’s a low risk of danger, so he wants her to find out if Kemal has been manipulating the markets, and if he is, she needs to send that information over right away. Asu says that Kemal would end up in prison. Emir says that he would, but he’ll get out again anyway. He adds that whatever Kemal is trying to take from him little by little, Emir will take it away from Kemal in one fell swoop: his fortune. Asu calls him an idiot, but Emir reminds her to just do as told. She hangs up and flings her phone on the desk.

Kemal and Zehir drive up to the property they intend to purchase. They approach Mr. Ousmane (the owner) and introduce themselves. Mr. Ousmane declares that he’s done his own investigation and has realized that his land is worth much more than what Kemal offers, and to top it off, he figured out the kind of businessman Kemal is. Kemal replies that the offer he made reflects the actual value of the property. Mr. Ousmane says that if Kemal checks his bank account, he’ll find the preliminary payment has already been returned. Kemal looks annoyed and tells Zehir “How could we not imagine this?” Zehir doesn’t understand what he’s talking about, and Kemal asks the owner where Emir is. Without a doubt, Emir and Tufan appear at the gate. Emir asks if he wants to speak in private about this, then tells him that he came and has defeated Kemal this time. Kemal doesn’t say anything and chooses to walk away. He drives off with Zehir in the car.

Zehir cannot believe that Emir bested them. Kemal asks him to investigate everyone to figure out who is the rat. Zehir starts suspecting Tariq, remembering his “state secret” question at the meeting a few days ago. He’s about to tell Kemal, but holds his tongue. Zehir lies and says that nothing comes to mind, that he feels guilty about this. Kemal tells him it ok, because he’s also not been as occupied in this matter as he should have been. He asks him to find the rat again.

Asu watches as Asli goes out to lunch. She takes the opportunity to go into Kemal’s office and start searching his laptop. Somehow she knew what the password was, breathes a sigh of relief. She starts searching his bank accounts and picks up a particular name. Using her phone, she takes a photo of his accounts. She closes the laptop and texts Emir.

Emir thanks Mr. Ousmane for the purchase, when he receives Asu’s texts. Emir peruses all the images, and calls Asu. Asu is just getting into her office when she accepts the message, and tells her that Kemal has done several illegal purchases: the day that Galip was arrested, Kemal made several purchases when the stocks fell. He also brings up that prior to that, Kemal had kidnapped Mujan and taken her to the Kozcouglu mansion. Emir says he’s surprised that Kemal has changed his strategy so much. Asu asks him to stop taunting her. Emir says that he will, but with this information he has enough evidence to prove that Kemal has been doing illegal business. Asu says that she’ll make Emir pay for this. Emir asks if she took an official copy of the documents. Asu is seen holding a small flashdrive and confirms. Emir says he’ll retrieve it from her tonight. He asks her to take care of herself. When she hangs up, Emir walks back to his car and calls out for Tufan to come join him home.

Nihan wears a red jacket and sits in her car, waiting for Zeynep to come out of the Soydere home. Soon she sees Zeynep suspiciously walk out on the street and wave at a taxi, then starts following her. Zeynep looks nervous and calls Emir. He answers the phone and isn’t surprised at all to hear her tell him that she’s on her way to their meeting site. The call ends. (Zeynep’s wearing a big thick gray/purple old mop stringy muppets sweater? Pretty sure Oscar from Sesame Street has worn it before?)

In Zonguldak, Leyla comments that looking for Asu’s birth certificate is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Ayhan looks at a file and tells her to keep positive. He shows her what he found, and Leyla looks up at him in disbelief.

Kemal is in his office, pacing around. He gets a call from Leyla, who asks if he’s ready. Ayhan starts faxing the birth certificate. Kemal picks it up from the fax machine and has finally confirmed his suspicions.

Zeynep’s taxi reaches its destination, which looks like an old fort. Nihan is already there, waiting for her to reach Emir. She watches them talk. Zeynep starts reproaching Emir for being next to Asu several days ago. She reminds him that Asu is going to marry her brother, yet she doesn’t understand why Asu holds an affair with him. Zeynep admits that she’s jealous.
Emir retorts: “You’re stupid. But you’re not weak.”
Zeynep says “You have no idea how much I love you, each day I condemn myself, but I still love you!”
“You’re not listening Zeynep, if you heard yourself, there might be a possibility that you could control your obsession, but you choose not to listen or understand what is happening around you.”
“I can’t stop, do you hear me? I can’t” She starts shoving Emir. “Ever since I saw you with that woman, I can’t stop repeating the image in my head.”
“One can’t get burned once without knowing what fire is. But he can learn his lesson that way. You, on the other hand, burned your hand once and you still don’t learn your lesson.”
“What will you do to me then? Kill me?”
“You know that I have better ways of punishing people.”
When Emir looks to the side, he notices Nihan’s red jacket as she’s approaching them. He tells her that it’s not what she thinks. Nihan reproaches him for lying to her about his affair with Zeynep. She asks him what kind of immoral people they are. Emir tries to get her to listen to him, and says that he’s here because of a promise he made to his wife, which is that he would investigate about Ozan’s suicide. Nihan is speechless and Zeynep can’t believe what he’s about to say. Emir tells Nihan that Zeynep went to the hospital that day. Zeynep keeps looking at him to keep his mouth shut, but he continues: “She went into Ozan’s hospital room between the time he was admitted and the time that he died.” Nihan looks at her and asks if that’s true. Zeynep is too nervous to cough up a lie, so Emir answers for her: “It’s true. Here I was trying to understand what was going on, until you appeared.” Zeynep can’t look Nihan in the face and keeps repeating “I…I…” Nihan starts losing it and grabs Zeynep, asking for an explanation right now. Zeynep still cannot give an answer, but Emir says “She’s afraid, but the doctors were present when Zeynep was in the room. Ozan was asleep.” Nihan lets her go and steps away, unconvinced. When Emir tries placing his arm over Nihan’s shoulder, she brushes him off and walks on her on.

Zeynep cant believe this just happened. Emir walks away from her too, without saying anything. She watches them head to their own cars, and is left crying alone. She curses, but is interrupted by a phone call from Emir. He tells her that he enjoys punishing people through different methods. Zeynep cries and tells him to shut up. Emir says that a spontaneous punishment is much better than a planned one, and now there’s no need to continue with this. He says that she’s the one person who most knows him, so he has no need to explain himself. He calls her a very special person. Zeynep cries and says his name, begging him to stop torturing her already. Emir ends the call by saying “I would like to stop making you suffer.” Zeynep continues crying and says “Enough” over and over again.

Kemal walks out of his office and calls Zehir, asking him where he is right now. Zehir replies that knows where, and Kemal says they will see each other soon. He hangs up and receives a phone call from Nihan right then. He answers and she tells him that she just discovered something and needs to see him right now. He tells her that he also needs to see her, so he’s sending her the address of where they will meet up.

Asu is waiting for Emir at the seaside. She anxiously paces around, while Kemal watches her from a distance.

Soon Nihan’s car arrives and she starts looking for him. She walks into a structure that looks like a balcony built into the cliff (?) and calls out Kemal’s name. She reports that Zeynep lied to them, because she did go to the hospital the day Ozan died. She thinks that Zeynep is hiding something else. Kemal assures her that they will find a way to get her to talk. Nihan asks why he wanted to meet her here, and he points her attention to Asu and her red car. Nihan can’t believe what she’s seeing. She asks why Asu is there. Kemal simply says that he has a feeling. Just then, they both see Emir’s car approach.

Asu calls Emir but doesn’t get an answer. She curses. When Emir finally arrives, she starts cursing and asking why he was taking so long. Emir simply says that it’s evident she’s learned her lesson already. Soon Asu hands over the red flashdrive. Emir smiles and says “Family is everything. And you’ve given me everything, little sister.”

Still spying, Kemal shakes his head in disappointment and disbelief, and Nihan asks him if their suspicions are accurate. Kemal remains silent but nods his head. They notice Asu handing over something to Emir. Nihan wonders what just happened, and Kemal concludes that Asu has just handed him over to the enemy. Kemal shows Nihan a document and says “This is the proof that they are siblings.” Nihan can’t believe it and starts reading the birth certificate. Kemal says that “Mujan Kozcouglu gave birth to a beautiful and healthy girl in a hospital at Zonguldak in 1991. Her name was Asu Kozcouglu.” Nihan turns to look at the two siblings.

Nihan folds up the document and gives it back to Kemal. She asks what will happen now. Kemal says that they will take this in stride, because the Kozcouglu path seems to be passing through him right now.

Emir asks Asu to stop dramatizing this whole thing, because she’s done worse things. As Asu starts walking away, she keeps telling Emir that she hates him and his family name. She says that she’ll never be like him. Emir says that she should really take a look in the mirror. Asu gets annoyed at the comment. Emir drives off in his car, but not before telling Asu that she’s just risen Kemal’s flags of defeat. Asu stays there for a few seconds, then takes off too.

Nihan asks Kemal why he’s so calm. Kemal says “What do you expect me to say? What should I do? Do you know how many times someone has lied to me? Betrayed me? I’ve learned a lot from this.” Nihan notices his engagement ring. She takes his hand and rubs it, asking him what he will do with this ring. Kemal says that he’ll do what she did. Nihan’s voice starts breaking and asks if he really will continue with the wedding. Kemal says “Maybe we need to start speaking their language. The siblings have played with us too long already. Now it’s our turn.” Nihan said that they always believed that the blackmail was simply to put a stop to Emir. Kemal says that she was right, it was to stop Emir and yet help him at the same time. He adds that they need to figure out what they’re up to now, because it’s clear that Asu’s original intentions have changed somewhere along the road. He asks Nihan to think about it: they both thought that Emir didn’t know who his sister was, but it turned out that Emir didn’t want them to find out. Why? Nihan continues to hold his hand as Kemal holds her other arm. “The best thing that could happen to them has just happened. Let’s make a deal: now I’ll start hunting them down just like they did with me.”

Zeynep is walking down some lonely streets, still crying. She doesn’t know what to do, and calls Tariq to ask if they can meet each other right now. Tariq is concerned and asks what’s going on, but Zeynep says that she can’t give out the information over the phone so she asks him to come for her right now. Tariq gets off his office chair and heads out.

Zehir arrives at Kemal’s office and notices Tariq hurriedly drive off. Zehir walks into the building and pulls out his employee ID. He remembers the day of the meeting, when he was going to go to lunch with Tariq. Tariq made up an excuse that he needed to go with Banu somewhere. Zehir said ok. In the present, Zehir walks up to the concierge and tells him that he needs employee clock records of the past three days. The man agrees to pull them up for him.

Nihan asks Kemal about Zeynep, but he’s certain that she has nothing to do with it. Nihan retorts that he also thought he knew Asu, but that didn’t go well. Kemal says that he understands Zeynep’s interests, but Nihan is adamant that Zeynep must somehow be involved in this because she continues to see Emir. Kemal says that Zeynep isn’t involved in any of this, but Asu must know about Zeynep and Emir, and possibly even what happened to Ozan. Nihan rolls her eyes and realizes that he has a point. She says that she feels she’s going to go crazy over this whole thing. Kemal calms her down and says that they will resolve this together. Kemal tells her that the day he went to see Tufan and get the original photos of Zeynep and Emir kissing each other, Asu was in the apartment. He continues to say that Hakki was supporting her in this. Nihan asks if Galip has a role, but Kemal says it’s possible he doesn’t actually know anything. He assures Nihan that he will destroy Emir and Asu’s game. He smiles at Nihan.

Emir is still driving to Kozcouglu Holding, fiddling around with the flashdrive. He calls one of his financial advisors and tells him to be prepared, as the boss is headed his way right now.

Nihan says she doesn’t understand how all the puzzle pieces will fit together. Kemal says he will destroy the final product once he’s able to assemble it, and with it he will destroy Asu and Emir’s lives too. He reminds her that they need to get back to work, but Nihan tells him that he needs to confront Asu right away. Kemal says no. Nihan continues that Asu knows too much and might possibly have enough information to send Emir to prison. Kemal says that they need to have patience, and when she says that she doesn’t have any patience, Kemal strictly reminds her not to do anything of her own accord. He places his hands on her face and says “I’m seeing you all the time now…What more can I want? Don’t do anything alone. You need to trust me. We need to be patient to the end.” Nihan asks “And when have I not trusted you, Kemal?” He looks at her as if she asked something dumb. He reminds her that she hasn’t been patient at the times that she had to be. Nihan concedes, but asks what will happen to the information that Asu might have. Kemal tells her to get into her car and go home. They both drive off.

Asu is driving while wiping tears from her eyes. She calls Kemal, who presses the button to suppress the rest of the ringing. Asu looks upset that he doesn’t answer, but gives up.

Kemal is driving and calls Zehir. He asks if Zehir has discovered anything about the land purchase yet. Zehir says he’s working on that right now. Kemal says that there’s one more thing they’ll have to add to their plate: information may have been stolen from the company between today and yesterday. He says he’ll take care of it, but he wants Zehir to find the traitor and bring him to the company. They hang up. Zehir is looking at Tariq’s record and notices that his lunch hour exit/entry is off. He starts wondering why Tariq came back into the building so soon.

Leyla and Ayhan are still driving their way back to Istanbul. She can’t believe that Asu would do something like this to Kemal. Ayhan says that sometimes they fail to see what’s in front of them. Leyla starts commenting that she had protected Asu from Kemal and Nihan. She never thought that Asu would be the least trustworthy person there is. She starts questioning their friendship because they’re only getting to know each other right now. Ayhan asks what she would do as soon as she discovers his roots, because she only sees the surface right now. Leyla says “Maybe it’s better we just remain at the surface.” Ayhan doesn’t appear to like that answer.

Nihan parks somewhere and remembers Kemal telling her that he doesn’t want her to investigate anything on her own. She takes out her phone and dials Asu, who picks up. Nihan says that she wants to see her right now. Asu agrees and hangs up.

Zeynep is sitting in a pagota like an orphan rocking herself back and forth. Tariq comes and asks what’s wrong. She starts crying and says that she’s very scared, saying “Nihan found out about everything! She knows that I went into Ozan’s room! What am I going to do? I’m ruined.”
A flashback occurs: Zeynep rushed out of the taxi and entered the hospital. Meanwhile, Rezat was watching and was texted the ok by Emir to send Tariq inside. Zeynep approached Ozan’s room and he woke up upon seeing her. He started to demand why she’s there and she claimed that she was going to explain everything to him. He started cursing her and yelling that she leave, which she did do, but saw Tariq arrive at the floor. She went back into the room as Ozan continued to curse her and she told him to shut up. She put her hand over his mouth and asked him to listen to her, but he wasn’t cooperating. She got desperate and forcefully tried to get him to shut up when he started yelling that the baby she was expecting wasn’t his. She took the pillow and started to suffocate him when Tariq entered the room and witnessed it.

*****
Hello,

Zeynep killed Ozan? And Tariq hung him?! They have to be the most despicable people ever. Fehime will have a heart attack, but I have no doubt that she would cover them both to protect them from prison. Hussein is probably the one who would die from a heart attack.

Nihan. Why can’t she just leave well enough alone? There are times when her character gets so irritating because no matter how many times she fails at her objective, she refuses to see that she puts the entire operation at risk.

I suspect Tariq is giving Emir the information about the land purchases. He’s been acting pretty weird lately.

I think Emir already feels some attachment to Denise. Technically she could grow up to love him, but he would spoil her rotten. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so honest as when he had that conversation with the baby today.

I will admit that a lot of Kemal’s moves don’t add up at times. There’s only so much you can best and predict the enemy. Sometimes the situations resolve themselves in too choreographed a manner: it’s impossible to know exactly how the adversary will move. Things can go either way. But yeah, beanies attach!

RINGO

Good Morning, Diana, Jarifa and Judy! What a way to start off on the patio! Such insightful comments are a marvel and give so much food for thought.

Jarifa, having sex with a minor is, indeed, a great PSA. I'm just not liking the Randy Candy character. I'm so glad Rosa set her straight and didn't fall for her "I'm in love story." This girl, who supposedly teaches Catechism classes, has been made out to be a very young nymphomaniac. There is something definitely wrong with that picture. I keep wondering, "Where is her mother?" And when will Damasio take the blinders off? Maybe Rafa isn't the only one who didn't fall far from the tree. I can understand Damasio's initial reaction, but, hey, it takes two to tango; so he needs to chill. Forcing the two to get married in NOT the solution.

Diana, despite all the frustration with some of the characters (especially Julia) and quick transitions from scene to scene, I like this show two. It's a nice "clean" show with a bit of spice in it. I don't mind spice as long as it's not overdone.

JudyB, Diana certainly does have quite a talent with her quotes and unique interpretations. You, my friend, have such a talent for seeing beyond the shield and sharing your unique perspective of characters and situations. Like Diana, I only saw the "surly, ungrateful kid" without considering what the youngster past could have been like and his feelings about being forced into a situation he apparently does not wish for. Thank you for helping us delve into other possibilities.

I really don't want to get into Julia or Gloria either, but I can't but notice Gloria's hairstyle changes depending on her mood. Last night when she was trying to seduce Ringo with a nice dinner, her hair was soft and her tone was quite mellow, even likeable. When she's up to her deceptive and manipulative tricks, her hair is slick and oily. Just and observation...

AMOR ETERNO

AnonFri, wow...wow, and WOW! I was not expecting such a detailed recap of the two episodes; you are amazing! Thank you so much for all the double time and effort...I am still in awe, especially since the two episodes were so hard to watch last night. I hated watching Emir start his plan of destruction for Kemal; the man eludes EVIL!

I can't believe Zeynep killed Ozan! But in the desperate state she, I think she just wanted Ozan to stop talking and overdid it. Tariq came in just in to see it, and quickly thought of a way to cover up what his sister did...though I may be wrong. Could it have all been planned by Emir? The only reason I want to believe that Emir set the whole thing up was because Rezat told Tariq that it was his turn to go inside. I'm sure the rest of the truth will come out soon. And Yes, AnonFri, Fehime will flip when she finds out, but in a way, I am looking forward to it. And in stead of messing up her good son's life, she should focus on the bad apples. I feel sorry for Hussein.

On Nihan, "Why can’t she just leave well enough alone? There are times when her character gets so irritating because no matter how many times she fails at her objective, she refuses to see that she puts the entire operation at risk." Exactly!! She is her own force to be dealt with.

The scene where Emir opened himself up to Deniz was sweet, but I had a hard time enjoying it...only because it's...EMIR! The baby was so cute, what a smile!!

"Sometimes the situations resolve themselves in too choreographed a manner..." Perfectly stated!! Thank you for writing down what I have been trying to say.

AnonFri, I am still amazed that the quality of your writing was still at its usual excellence despite the double episode. GRACIAS!!

The patio is on eagle eye alert today!!!

Rgv Chick your but "...Gloria's hairstyle changes depending on her mood. Last night when she was trying to seduce Ringo with a nice dinner, her hair was soft and her tone was quite mellow, even likeable. When she's up to her deceptive and manipulative tricks, her hair is slick and oily" was oh, so true!

Perfect.

I just wish she'd use her "hair wiles" on Turco instead :)

RINGO

Diana, your intro on Julia is pitch perfect. The show seems to have taken the wrong left turn, but not you. My faves:

Impactada all around.

Ringo she mewls as we roll our eyes.

I ask (again) why she isn’t screaming about Diego stealing her father blind. It must be because the rat who stole the cheese is sitting right there, giving her the stink eye.

Julia did look especially pretty in the pic on Ringo's phone. She should pull her hair back more often.

JudyB, good point on Turco's "son." The writers have slammed in so many hit and quit new characters and new storylines, I can't tell if they're vested in sifting out the kid's story or not but I hope so.

I'm ticked that we're getting the Randi Candi [thanks, Diana] treatment, but don't get to see Teresa and her new dancing partner/boyfriend.

AMOR ETERNO

AnonFri, echoing Rgv Chick yet again, wow, and double wow!! Not one but two juicy episodes, and all of it covered in your miraculous way. Looks like our show might be entering a new phase.

Enjoyed the fresh air of the Zonguldak road trip. As for Melahab, last night's CCs had her as "Melahat." Doesn't seem to be a Turkish word, but "Melahat" seems to mean nosy person, metiche.

Kemal had a twinkle in his eye much of the time. The post-prison dead eye seems gone. I wonder if Asu guessed his password as "Nihan." Asu had a sort of disgusted look on her face even as she gained access.

Really enjoyed the scene with Emir warming up to adorable Deniz. I like to see the complexities of him, not just a caricature villain.

Zeynep and that dangly jacket! Looked like she'd been rolling in some dust bunnies or spider webs. Kind of witch-y. Wonder if a deliberate choice by costume dept for a scene where her evil side is exposed? No wonder she becomes hysterical -- and gives herself away -- whenever Ozan's name is mentioned. Cold-blooded killer in addition to inept fool?

Beanies, choreography, and the gaps in logic, now that I know the scissors are out, hard to know whether something is being glossed over or cut out. Beanies at the ready.

Thanks AnonFri for the double duty! You are much appreciated.

Clara

Hi Niecie! I appreciate your always generous comments.

I am also curious as to who Teresa's new man might be!

I loved your "hit and quit" description. So appropriate! I'm still lamenting the loss of Pierre Louis who was the fighter in the beginning of the show who had a crush on Eva. After a bout with Turco, he was badly injured,and then was unceremoniously dropped like a hot potato, never to be heard from again!

Hopefully we will get some forward movement tonight!

Where is the Love – Roberta Flack - Part 1

“Love: Two minds without a single thought” – Philip Barry

There are wonderful stories of passionate, all consuming, ride or die love. Heartaches and misunderstandings are no obstacles to couples completely besotted, bound to and in love with each other. With love and trust, all is overcome. Unfortunately, none of those couples are in this telenovela!

The certainty that both of the couples headed for the alter (Brenda/Alejo and Luchis/Guachin) will actually marry is still questionable (even as they prepare to enter the church). The fact that neither should marry is a certainty. But we are not always masters of our own destinies, and fate sometimes has a mind of its own.

On the surface, love appears to be largely absent here. But upon closer inspection, there are a few lonely seeds scattered here and there that may well sprout. Oso and Rosa love each other but Oso’s continuing failure to be honest with Rosa is sabotaging their relationship. Yet, there is hope for this unlikely but touching couple. Eva and Max have potential but Max constantly trips over his tongue and Eva’s impatience with him as well as a hearty helping of jealousy consistently pulls them apart. While these far from perfect romances may not tug at our heartstrings or embroil us in emotion, they are more realistic in what love and life actually brings – closeness and conflicts.

Oso rants to Guevera as Guevera tells him not to be so dramatic. Oso is still beside himself that everyone including his own son thought he had something to do with Muñecas accident. Oso takes a call for Ringo. Meanwhile, Rafa chides Oso because everything Oso does is for Ringo and Rosa! They are the only ones who are important. What about me? This clearly strikes a not so resonant chord with Oso. He says of course that isn’t true. Rafa challenges him - if he won’t get him a fight then he’ll go elsewhere. Oso finally admits that he just doesn’t want to see him beaten up. Rafa pleads with him since he will fight with him or without him. Oso concedes and tells him that he will be with him. Oso gets emotional and envelops Rafa in a bear hug.

Turco makes a call saying Andres is gone but is told Andres has returned home.

Oso tries to talk to Ringo about Julia but Ringo shuts him down. It’s not important. However, Oso has a message, he got a call offering Ringo a great opportunity. A company wants to hire him to be the face of their brand.
Next, Guachin enters and invites them to his wedding. Oso smiles slightly.

Where is the Love – Part 2

Susana and Rosa discuss that Rosa won’t be fighting Muñeca. Susana tells her that everyone in the boxing world knows about Muneca’s preference; she is sure Oso meant no harm in not telling Rosa about it.

Damasio and Pepe read the invitations. Damasio comments about Gauchin marrying Luchis; he doubts it will last. After Guachin comes in Pepe suggests that Guachin and Rafa have a double wedding!

Oso enters and reiterates that Candi is not the girl Damasio thinks she is. Pepe confirms what Oso said and tells Dam that Candi was after him too.

Ringo meets with the rep from a sports clothing line who wants him to represent their company as the public loves him. Ringo is flattered and appreciates the offer. He will think about it.

Esteban explains to Oso and Rosa that since Muñeca had her accident, she will be indisposed for a while; so Esteban proposes that Rosa fight La Japonesa. Oso quickly agrees and Rosa squeals with joy.

Dam questions Candi about her being after everyone. After Candi assures him that she only slept with Rafa, Dam tells her he is sending her back before she gives the whole club a round. Candi is tired of him treating her like a child...she is 20 years old!!

After speaking with the man who entrusted him with Andres’ care, Turco goes out to talk with Andres. Turco pleads his case but Andres refuses to go with him. When Turco offers to buy him whatever he wants, Andres tells him he doesn’t need things, he needs love and to be cared for...something that Turco hasn’t given him since he only thinks of himself. Turco looks crushed.

Sandra meets with Isabel (the attorney) and confides in her about Ivan nvestigating Diego. She shows her the “cooked book” documents she obtained and adds that Ivan didn’t think it was enough. He had hired an auditor, but she doesn’t remember the name. She will try to look through Ivan’s contact list but it will be difficult since Diego moved her to another area. Isabel assures Sandra that she will continue the investigation. After, we see Isabel pull out a picture and kiss it. It may be a younger Ivan, but I’m not positive.

Diego shows Julia some trumped up presentation to get the company back to where it should be ...without letting go of employees.

Ringo tells Oso his great news. The rep offered him a contract to be their image and to sponsor him to fight for the world boxing championship. Oso then tells him about Rosa’s match with La Japonesa. Another big bear hug ensues!

Julia will think about the plan Diego is proposing. After they both leave for lunch, Sandra sneaks in to find the name of the auditor. She finds it and jots it down.

Where is the Love – Part 3

Lina reminds Max that she will be looking forward to their dinner. Eva overhears and consumed with jealousy, complains to Manuel about taking her case. Ringo enters and gives them the good news about Mr. Sigers’s offers. He then calls Mr. Sigers to formally accept his offer. Eva and Manuel are thrilled for him!

Damasio goes to talk to Rafa but starts crying since Candi disappointed him; he thought she was a good girl. Rafa assures him that Candi is a nice girl...she is just very young...just as Dam once was.

Turco calls his bff Carrizo to cry that everyone leaves him – no one wants him! Carrizo tells him to come to the US so they can return to being the dynamic duo they used to be! Turco drowns in more self-pity.

Ringo picks up Santi from school with his good news. Hugs.

Alejo goes to visit Eva and gives her the wedding invitation. She natters on that Max was unfaithful and Alejo basically laughs in her face. He tells her she is just jealous. Eva denies it...again.

Sandra calls Isabel and gives her all the contact info on Manriquez, the auditor.

Ringo is helping Santi with his homework when Teresa comes in and shows them her participation certificate for the dance contest she attended. Santi asks who Renato Silva is and wonders if he is her boyfriend; Teresa clarifies that he is only her dance partner. Ringo them tells her about accepting the offer and fighting for the world championship. Teresa is happy that Ringo will have a salary and goes on and on about saving money. Gloria watches silently in the background with what appears to be a sincere smile on her face. Alas, I’ve been wrong on that score several times previously so will not even hazard a guess as to what might be going on inside her head.

Eva visits Julia and they catch up. Julia tells her about working at the company and giving up her clinic. Eva then tells her about Ringo being the image for Esparta and fighting for the world championship. Julia is happy for Ringo but changes the subject and asks about Max. Eva sees her opening and starts ripping Max to shreds yet again. Blech.

Meanwhile, said Max is at a romantic dinner with Lina . She puts the moves on him, suggesting they enter a relationship but Max kindly refuses. Lina assumes that he still has feelings for the woman he left the seminary for. Credit her for good common sense. On that note, Max calls for the check.

Where is the Love – Part 4 (Last)

Julia calls Ringo and wonders if he is going to leave his job as head of security...since she heard about his offer. Ringo assures Her that he won’t since that was a promise he made to Ivan...unless she wants him to leave. Julia replies that he is a good head of security and isn’t asking him to leave. Ringo looks somber and Julia looks her usual icy self. There is awkward silence as music plays. They hang up and Ringo stares stonily.

Eva gets out of her car and Max is there. She gives him the cold shoulder until he point blank asks her if she loves him...because she is the love of his life. Eva, seldom at a loss for words, is nonplussed. Passionate kisses ensue.

We are treated to several very quick scenes.

Ringo signs the contract with Sigers.

Turco arrives in the US and Carrizo is waiting for him; he has a little girl who makes Turco smile. Turco is back in the ring and it appears he is on a comeback as he has already vanquished an opponent!

Max and Eva indulge in an inappropriate office kiss as Manuel looks on beaming.

Diego and Julia are at a restaurant where she sips wine and looks bored out of her mind.

Brenda models wedding attire in the form of a very short skirt in front with a long skirt on the side and the back. I’ve seen something similar on “Say Yes to the Dress” so the style does really exist. Very fashion forward.

At the club, Guachin is in his suit getting ready for his wedding. He is nervous but elated that he is getting married.

Manrique and Isabel meet to discuss all the evidence they have gathered. Manrique thinks that they now have enough to start the report to prove that Diego defrauded the company.

On the big day, Brenda alights from the car. Ringo is there and Brenda starts to freak out! He explains he is there for Guachin’s wedding! That comes as a shock to Brenda who apparently didn’t know that his wedding is at the same venue! Julia shakes her head at Ringo with a flinty stare. Brenda appears to gently unfold like the delicate flower that she is.

And, there we end.

RINGO

I was so behind if it were not for Rgv Chick who fed me much crucial information, the recap would look vastly different from what appears now. Thank you friend!

Last weekend, I had written a prologue that I scrapped in favor of what I published last night. Something told me it might make sense to use it tonight so I made some changes and was just fortunate in that the timing seemed to line up.

Very interested in seeing what happens tomorrow. Will we have two weddings? One wedding? No wedding?

Look forward to seeing what everyone has to say tomorrow. I'm glued to the TV watching the primary results so will be even more tired tomorrow!

Diana

Ringo
Thanks girls. Nice work.
Kinda like 'Days of our lives', tune in once a week to see if anything has changed.

1. Brenda's wedding dress...Yikes! ...is she ...cra.....nevermind.
2. Turco - Muriel sure cries a lot for a straight dude
3. Gloria is like a split personality....and face ...and hair ...and clothes
depending on the type of screwing she has in mind for Ringo
4. Sandra finally told SOMEBODY...Anybody what she knew on Diablo
5. Foolia seems to be so proud of the name I gave her. She's running with it.!
6. Did Damasio tell Rafa how long it took him and Candy to narrow it down as to
which guy he was talking to her about sleeping with?

AMOR ETERNO

O my AnonFri, girl you flyin high. You
Paid attention to all kinds of detail.
That scene with emir was so sweet, but was empty love on his part. There is a time when a person is so evil, they can draw you in when they show you a glimpse of what there heart could have been. Just like he told zeynep, he knows how-to turn it on when necessary
And off so it won't defeat his purpose
And that is to destroy whoever gets in
His way. And I have no doubt he would
Not hesitate to destroy that little girl if she interfered in his plans. So that little sweet scene was just so I could enjoy Deniz. I love her smile.
It just didn't melt his stone heart to set her mother free. And so he contend
With papa kemal.

That car is just to big/long. I think
Maybe Leyla will probly have him goin
For an automatic. Soon, cuz Mel looks like he's on his last wheel.

Nep killed ozan, mostly to shut him up
Not meaning to kill him. And tariq he
Hung him up. Emir probly set that up cuz he knew those two numnuts would do
His dirty work. And looks like they did. Poor kemal, not to many people he can trust.

Iam done with asu. Emir is evil but she is slimy evil. Her and nep should be sisters.

Everytime nihan trust to do stuff on her own she makes a mess. Kemal told her once again, don't do anything on your own. Trust me and be patient. That's Not gonna happen. He will have to rescue her yet again.

Thank you AnonFri. You are just so amazing to do a double recap. I really
Appreciate this from you and Clara. U
Guys are holden.

RINGO

Good morning Kirby. Thanks so much. It's always a good day seeing your wry comments.

"Gloria is like a split personality....and face ...and hair ...and clothes" had me nodding and smiling. So true!

I meant to use "Foolia" which is great. I'm so tired of her perpetual scowling.

And yes, FINALLY Sandra speaks. I was beginning to think the duct tape over her mouth was permanent :)

I'm hoping Alejo has some kind of epiphany and doesn't go through with the ceremony. But he seems bound and determined...

Diana

RINGO

Diana, great title, intro and recap. Thanks. I am enjoying reading it with my morning café.

I was so glad that Damasio finally found out that Candi was not as pure as he thought.

Andrés hit it on the head with Turco. Time for Turco to grow up.

I wanted to yell: wake up, Julia!

Kirby, your “Days of Our Lives” comment made me laugh but is so true with this traditional novela.

RINGO

Good morning Jarifa!

It is time for Turco to grow up. I hope he is able to straighten himself up and get his life together. He must learn to put others before himself.

A harsh reality for Damasio, someone who may have excellent detective skills with others. But as far as his own daughter? Nopis. He definitely had his head buried in the sand.

Thanks for your kind words.

So boda or no boda? That is the question :)

Diana

RINGO

Diana, good question . . . I am voting for NO BODA: it would be a gift for Alejo to not be saddled with Brenda ( High maintenance on steroids) “till death do they part”. He does not deserve it; neither does Gauchín.

RINGO

Good morning sweet Diana. I don't blame you for staying up late to watch the election results. What a turnaround! As many twists and turns in this race as a telenovela.

So happy you used the Roberta Flack song as your title since that will be playing in my head all day. Love the song and love her voice. And then the quote: "Two minds without a single thought". Yes, so true. But is there anything better than that temporary insanity of being head over heels besotted with someone? Best feeling in the world until you eventually fall off that pink cloud. Ah well....

Also got a kick out of this:

While these far from perfect romances may not tug at our heartstrings or embroil us in emotion, they are more realistic in what love and life actually brings – closeness and conflicts.

Yes indeed. Eventually those two egos emerge and thereupon starts the battle. I've only seen part of this but I was intrigued by this line of yours:

Brenda appears to gently unfold like the delicate flower that she is.

Now THAT I want to see!

Thanks Diana. Try and keep your eyes open today. I imagine all kinds of folks are sleep deprived this morning, including all the candidates.

Diana, thank you for the quote and the recap. I have only been watching "Rubi " , but now that Ruby has ended , I will try to catch up as best I can on Ringo and Amor Eterno.

Sorry I missed seeing Brenduh's wedding gown ..was it party in the front, bridal blushing in the back????

P.s. Why does my tablet insist on changing Ringo to Dingo????

OT...judyb..I was on that "_pink cloud" for such a long tine. Now...

"RINGO":

Kirby: I'm assuming we might see a mixed happy ending here ?

RINGO

Jarifa, totally agree that Alejo should not be "saddled" (good one) with Brenda! And we still have no idea why Luchis wants to marry Guachin!

Judy, "But is there anything better than that temporary insanity of being head over heels besotted with someone? Best feeling in the world until you eventually fall off that pink cloud". Perfect. It explains why we allow ourselves to love even though the fall from love's grace can be fast and painful. Thank you for your unwavering kind words and support.

Susanlynn, "was it party in the front, bridal blushing in the back????". I could not think of a more fitting description. You nailed it amiga!

The patio is wide awake and brimming with wisdom today.

I am even getting a "second wind" as I read the delightful comments.

Thank you all!

Diana

Gracias, Diana/ and so spot on about where the love is.

I dearly hope Alejo wakes up to what a huge mistake he is making. "Delicate flower?" I say ragweed. While that dress might fit her personality I call it a Fashion Felony and BTW, it's nothing new.

Turco should learn a lesson or two from this. His heart might be in the right place, but he has yet to learn about what other people want. Renaming a kid that age? No. In fact, the older brother of a former friend was renamed by overwhelming grandparents when he was two and I think that may have had an affect on the toxic personality he developed over the years.

I completely understand Oso's feelings about watching his very handsome son going into the ring. I hate the idea of that gorgeous face getting messed up. This actor is destined for galan status if he wants it.

Jose Ron seems to have inherited Cinderfella status from Eduardo Santamarina. He's very effective in that.

Aren't you supposed to be working? :-)

RINGO

Diana, I don’t trust that Luchis!

RINGO

Urban, thank you for your kind words!

I felt a facetious comment about Brenda might be the best way to describe her collapse. Delicate she ain't. :) I'm still crossing my fingers Alejo wakes up out of his stupor. Ack.

And I agree Rafa is quite handsome. I'm thinking though that he might go the Alfredo Gatica route of character actor though. He will have more work, especially as Jose Ron seems to be taking every available galan role at the moment!

Thank you for your comments on Turco. Very well said. I listened carefully when Judy explained Andres' situation seen through his eyes and learned from that. I will heed your words as well.

Diana

RINGO

Umm, Kirby - are you talkin' to me? :) If so, I can assure you that if I had a dollar for every unpaid hour I've worked over the course of my life, I would be retired long ago and living quite well.

Jarifa, yes, Luchis' ardor came out of nowhere didn't it? She was Carrizo's girlfriend and he's moved. Hmmm.

Diana

AMOR ETERNO #155 Part 1

Again we see Zeynep smothering Ozan with a pillow to shut him up as Tarik enters.

In the pagoda, Tarik is trying to calm down Zeynep, insisting it was an accident. Zeynep is inconsolable, Nihan knows, she is after me, what am I gonna do? With a big hug, Tarik reassures her nothing will happen. How can he be sure? "Because other people fear you for other reasons."

Emir is showing the stock transactions print-out to a judge [? prosecutor?] in his office with Tufan present. Emir declares that even Kemal can't stop him now. Meanwhile, a bank officer has showed up at Kemal's office. Kemal thinks he still has a month to pay. But the bank representative now has info that Kemal's financial situation has become uncertain.

Kemal explains to Zehir that Emir is taking steps to put him in bankruptcy. When Kemal asks Asli if anyone had entered his office, we see a flashback of Asu seeing Asli heading out for lunch. Asli now thinks this over and tells Kemal Asu was there. Kemal wants to find Yihid, the techie, ASAP.

Lamenting to Zehir, Kemal complains that he's surrounded by many traitors. There are few he can confide in. Kemal lets Zehir know that Asu is Emir's sis. What???? Yes, now we have to figure out what Asu stole to give to her brother. Zehir protests that Asu wouldn't do that, but Kemal is sure Emir did it with Asu's help.

Nihan is freelancing again. She and Asu meet in a cafe. Asu reproaches Nihan for being late when it was Nihan who wanted the get-together. Nihan says she doesn't want to interfere with Asu's relationship with Kemal, but it affects her relationship with Emir. Asu expresses that Nihan and Emir are really in love, and lets Nihan know that she and Kemal are back together.

Elif, Nihan's young friend from the street, taps the cafe window to get their attention, and says Asu's car is being towed. When Asu rushes out, Nihan, winking at Elif, scrambles to dig thru Asu's purse and make an impression of her keys. Out on the street, Asu's car is in no danger. Elif says, "this is your car? Oh, I was confused about the car."

As soon as Asu returns, Nihan's gotta go. Time's up. Asu says, wait, didn't you want to talk? Nihan says, yes, well, just checking in, a routine visit, see you later. An other wink at Elif.

Later we see Nihan at a hardware store getting a copy made of Asu's key.

Back in the office, Kemal is questioning the woman who got the info for Asu [the one Asu threatened to fire]. She confesses to giving info to Asu, and that Asu instructed it should remain between them. Disgusted, Kemal orders Zehir to trace Asu's steps.

Emir, Tufan, and the judge/prosecutor are reviewing the time of the stock trades as evidence of stock manipulation.

In Mel, Leyla and Ayhan pull up to Leyla's home. Vildan, Eda, and bundled-up Deniz are the welcoming committee. As Leyla takes Deniz, Ayhan is left to introduce himself. Leyla rather reluctantly says he's her friend, and Ayhan leaves. Vildan can't believe Leyla has a boyfriend! Why didn't she introduce him? Is Leyla ashamed of Vildan? or of him? Why hide him? Leyla insists she hardly knows him. Where did they meet? Vildan wants details. "In prison."

Yihid the tech guy is going over Kemal's computer. The data was accessed during 12 and 1:30, lunch time. Yihid is looking to see what was erased, and some files are blocked. Kemal realizes he inadvertently tipped off Tufan about the property, and is angry at himself for falling into Emir's trap.

Clara

Yes Diana I was talking to YOU. But just joking with you.

AMOR ETERNO #155 Part 2

Emir arrives in Kemal's office. Zehir is also there. Emir: You turned people against me. Now I'm doing the same to you. I made a good bet on the property, now I want the surrounding parcels too. "It's always darkest before the dawn." Kemal refuses to give the adjoining land to Emir. Emir has an answer for that: I've got bad news for you. Look at this -- well, you already know. I'll send Mesud to prison. I spoke to the judge about the stock market manipulation. You will give me those lands AND the company. You'll be ruined, and your reputation destroyed. I have a suggestion for you -- be more discreet.

In her red coat and stiletto boots, Nihan is now inside Asu's apartment. She begins furiously leafing thru Asu's books and examines her laptop.

Acting on his suspicions, Zehir sets up Tarik. In the office, Zehir gives Tarik a binder with info about the land around the land Emir bought. Zehir wants Tarik to deliver it, adding "No one can see this." Tarik says "Kemal should never have fallen into that trap," takes the binder and leaves.

Shaffak on the phone to his brother Hakan. "If you don't want me to go, just say so." Hakan admits he's used to Shaffak being around, and suggest they talk later. Hakan mutters to himself "Emir, what kind of person are you?"

Zeynep calls Hakan, she wants to see him. He first says no, but agrees when Nep says it's about Emir.

Back to Nihan digging around in Asu's apartment. She sees a framed photo of Kemal, then heads upstairs. Kemal calls Nihan: what are you doing? Something behind my back? Everyone's against me -- not you too. I'm bankrupt. Asu gave that bastard info to use against me. My choices are to declare bankruptcy or send Mesud to prison or transfer the company to Emir. Nihan asks what he will do? She'll call him later, she is always thinking of him. Kemal: "I need you with me." When Nihan says he seems comfortable with everything, Kemal says he's just letting it flow.

It seems Vildan was not too impressed with big old Mel, because she's grilling Leyla about Ayhan. "How can you touch him? It's not possible. Don't you defend that mafioso to me." Leyla protests that Vildan is acting like an elitist. After all, everyone deserves a second chance. Vildan asks: "are you in love with him?" No. Then think about what you're doing.....

As Zehir watches, Tarik, looking furtive, drives off with the important binder. Zehir follows, watching from a safe distance as Tarik parks and Emir pulls up. Zehir then takes a photo [video?] of Tarik handing info to Emir. Zehir, disgusted, has his suspicions confirmed.

Diana

RINGO

Diana, once again, you've hit the nail on the head with the title...and I was pleasantly surprised to see your prologue which goes without saying, yet another masterpiece! Thank you!

Brenda's wedding dress may not be "new" but my goodness, I had never seen anything like it. When she first came out, the first thing that crosses my mind was "alien." LOL Don't ask why, bu i thought I had actually seen some type of long pins coming out of her hair LOL I re-e-eally hope you all are right about this wedding not happening, but Alejo has had plenty of opportunity to open those eyes of his and NADA! And seriously, why is Brenda SO upset about another wedding at her venue? Does she really think that hers is the only wedding on that day?

Kirby, "Gloria is like a split personality....and face ...and hair ...and clothes" DITTO!! She dresses for however she is feeling and does it well.

Jarifa, "Andrés hit it on the head with Turco..." And so did JudyB! Impressive insight, Judy! I don't know if Turco will ever grow up; is he going to try to change that little girl's name too? ARGHH!

Diana, "A harsh reality for Damasio, someone who may have excellent detective skills with others. But as far as his own daughter? Nopis." Well stated..at least one person opened his eyes before any real fall out occurred. Alejo needs to be next.

JudyB, "...is there anything better than that temporary insanity of being head over heels besotted with someone? Best feeling in the world until you eventually fall off that pink cloud." Wise words, amiga...and oh so true.

Urban, "I completely understand Oso's feelings about watching his very handsome son going into the ring." Me too...and Oso should now understand why Teresa is so against Ringo going into the ring.

Diana, "The patio is wide awake and brimming with wisdom today." Yes, it is! Thank you everyone, for gracing us with your thoughts...always insightful and thought-provoking.

AMOR ETERNO #155 Part 3

Nihan, still roaming around at Asu's, is going thru her closets, one of which contains a safe deposit box. Nihan heads downstairs just as -- you guessed it -- Asu comes home. Nihan backs up the stairs and hides under the bed [mostly, her long heels seem to be sticking out.] We see Asu's own stiletto pumps approach the bed, but Asu changes to sneakers and PJs or a lounging outfit and heads back downstairs. Out from under the bed, Nihan spots another photo of Kemal and rolls her eyes. Asu comes back upstairs to relax with her tea. Nihan has to hide in a closet.

Vildan calls somebody to investigate the background of Ayhan Kandagli. Eda overhears.

Zehir has returned to the office to show Kemal the photo of Tarik betraying him by handing info to Emir. Kemal is upset, and Zehir wishes he were wrong. He'd been investigating the land deal and Asu, and this was the result. Tarik comes into the office, casually inquiring what Kemal was going to do. Kemal retorts: "ask your boss." Tarik is confused.

Kemal yells at Tarik to get out and never come near him again. Tarik wonders what he's done to be treated this way? Kemal yells "stop lying, you backstabber!" What are you talking abou? Zehir shows the photo to Tarik. Tarik goes on the offense: you went behind my back. You should be ashamed of yourself. I've never done anything. How dare you accuse me? Kemal wants to know: what did you give Emir in that envelope?

Tarik will tell Kemal, if that jerk [infeliz] Zehir gets out of the room. Kemal: "Zehir goes nowhere." Tarik sputters: I won't forget this. I'll figure out who did this. Kemal wants Tarik out: get out of here! Saying "well done," Tarik leaves. Kemal asks himself: "why do this, Tarik, why?"

Zehir wonders what Kemal will do now. Will Kemal transfer the company? Kemal asks if he has any other option. He won't allow an innocent man [Mesud] to go to prison. He'll have to accept. Zehir is distressed.

Final scene is back in Asu's apartment. Nihan is still hiding in closet as Asu tips her tea.
Galip calls Asu: how are you?
Asu: I'm not part of your family!
Galip: You offend me.
Asu: You go behind your son's back.
Galip: I want to see you.
Asu: What plans do you have?
Galip: Only those of a father who wants the best for his two children.

Wide-eyed Nihan has overheard Asu's side of the conversation.

Clara

~~~~~~~
Two white collar intrigues going on, the property grab and the insider trading. At times [as with Yihid] I was confused as to which they were talking about, hope this is clear. I don't really get why Mesud [Kemal's driver] is in criminal jeopardy but Kemal is not. I guess Kemal used Mesud's name for the transactions?
Also it's dawning on me that what Kemal did with the stock was actually illegal. Asu and Emir have exposed illegal insider trading on Kemal'spart, right? And that's why Kemal's in trouble now, thru his own greed or efforts to bring down Kozcuoglu Holding.
I lucked out here with only 1 hour and much of the time was without dialogue, Nihan crawling around Asu's! Cat fight tonight? Or will Asu take a shower and Nihan slip out. Nihan seems motivated by jealousy and anger at her sister-in-law more than "investigation."
Clara
RINGO
Rgv Chick, thank you partner! So much of the credit goes to you.
I think there were some overly long hair pins in Brenda's hair. From the quick look I got, "alien" seems to denote exactly the image they invoked! She is a piece of work!
There are many sides to Sybil, err, Brenda that Alejo has unfortunately not considered. In addition to the obvious, Brenda is daddy's pampered princess who seems never to have worked a day in her life. Alejo is already borrowing money for the wedding so they are starting out in debt. How fast will Brenda manage to run up Alejo's credit cards? This is an impending disaster in and of itself, all by itself.
I'm wondering if Alejo will have to give up his boxing dream before it begins? He may not be able to leave his day job as it is a guaranteed income.
And will Guachin and Luchis live on love alone? How much of that dwindling "fortune" is left??
Diana
Hello!
Thank you Clara! Yesterday’s episode was intriguing. Did we officially confirm that Tariq is the traitor? He seemed adamant at denying it. Maybe he was talking to Emir about Zeynep? Or paying a debt off to him??
I think that with regards to Emir taking the third land from under Kemal’s belt, there was no major illegal business going on except that Tariq was passing on confidential information to the competitor. However, with the stocks there’s the whole issue that Kemal pulled a publicity stunt to damage Emir’s business:
1. He kidnapped Mujan and brought her to the Kozcouglu mansion with reporters already lined up there.
2. As consequence of that, Galip was arrested and has pending charges for falsifying records.
3. Between those two events, the Kozcouglu stocks plunged so Kemal was left waiting for the perfect moment to buy various shares (and wasn’t Nihan alerting him exactly when they were falling? I remember her and Leyla being on the phone and watching the stocks fall).
4. Kemal gets Messoud to buy the stocks for him, so that the fraud wouldn’t be apparent. Messoud essentially loaned his name, so he’s the one to go to jail first, but upon proving Kemal hired him and supplied the money, both go to jail and Kemal’s business shuts down.
So essentially Ayhan wasn’t able to get his apprentice from doing illegal affairs, even though he did warn him that going down the rabbit hole it’s hard to come back out. And in Kemal’s desire to test Asu, he failed to suspect that the Kozcouglu siblings were already in cahoots. So even if Asu has received the letter first, Emir likely would have found out about it anyway because she would be so scared about Kemal going after her tail.
I agree that Nihan seems to be overreacting by having gone to personally investigate Asu’s home. If anything, I would think Tufan would have more incriminating information hidden than her, since she was his boss. But anyway, if you’re going to do the sneaky job yourself why not dress the part? She was wearing a bright red jacket and heels! Asu should have noted the red from under her bed as she was coming up the stairs! I think the only way she can sneak out is if Asu decides to shower, though to be honest I think Asu is already wearing her pajamas!
We’ll see how tonight goes.
AnonFri
AMOR ETERNO
Clara, this is 'clara'mente outstanding! :-) Thank you!
IT was only approximately 45 minutes of actual episode, but it seemed to go on and on and on. And Oh my the intricacies of the double crossings and revenge plots are getting quite complex and hard to follow. AnonFri, thank you so much for delineating Kemal's plan to manipulate the stock market.
I really think Tariq is a traitor, but obviously not the only one. He and Zeynep have always denied what they do and they always seem sincere about it...to the point that they seem to believe their own lies. It could be that Tariq was giving Emir something else in that envelope this one time but Emir still has him under his control and he is still backstabbing his own brother.
AnonFri, "if you’re going to do the sneaky job yourself why not dress the part? She [Nihan] was wearing a bright red jacket and heels!" OMGoodness I was thinking the exact same thing! And when she threw her purse on the couch when she first entered, I thought for sure that was a foreshadowing of how Asu would catch her, but then she had it with her when she went upstairs...so that botched my idea.
I do have a question--what did Tariq mean when he told Zeynep,"Because other people fear you for other reasons." Who else does Zeynep have info on?
RINGO
The two opening quotes: for the first one, I was “ah, love, so dreamy…” Then I read the second quote -- and lol. Diana, thanks for my afternoon laugh break. My faves:
Unfortunately, none of those couples are in this telenovela!
Diego and Julia are at a restaurant where she sips wine and looks bored out of her mind.
Brenda appears to gently unfold like the delicate flower that she is. ["delicate flower to Alejo, but ITA Urban's "ragweed" to the rest of us]
Yay, Ringo is moving on up and buys a jeep. When will he notice that Gloria is not taking any measures to move out of his mom's house?
Will Luchi’s wedding gown be even more fashion forward than Brenda’s? Did Guachin dust off his prom tux for his wedding?
RINGO
Niecie, I'm so happy I made you laugh. My work for the day is done :)
I think there is absolutely nothing that you miss. Now that you mention the jeep, I do recall that flash.
And right, Gloria sure is "sticking" isn't she?
And yes, I cannot wait to see Luchi's dress! Guachin's prom tux indeed. Just great.
Emir arrives home and orders Eda to take his packages from the car and into the house. She does as told, and he sees Vildan with Denise on the couch. He sits on the edge of the couch and calls Denise his “Mini Nihan”- Vildan didn’t seem to like that comment. When Emir reaches over to take Denise, Vildan hesitates until he reminds her that he has every right, plus Denise knows that he loves her. He takes the baby and decides that it’s time to visit grandma. Vildan stands up to show her protest, and Emir comments that she shouldn’t be so worried because a baby isn’t made out of glass. As he walks away with Denise, he tells Vildan to call Nihan because he’s too busy to do it right now. Vildan is left wondering why he has changed his behavior towards the baby. Just then, Eda carries about six bags when she enters the foyer, all of which seem to be presents for Denise. Vildan gets concerned and immediately phones Nihan.
Nihan is still in Asu’s closet when Vildan calls. She rejects the call, but sends a text asking if Denise is ok. Vildan reports that everything is ok, but that she’s worried for Nihan because Emir had just asked about her. Nihan makes a duck face.
Emir and Denise are visiting Mujan He acknowledges that Denise has seen Mujan before, but he asks the baby to meet his mother from a different angle. He formally introduces the grandma and the baby to each other, then says “She’s my little one. Do you want to be my little one, Denise?” Denise seems to make an “as if” face. An alien phone call comes in from Kemal, and Emir asks “What do you want? I’m with my mother and daughter right now.” Kemal (who’s driving somewhere) asks him for whereabouts, and Emir repeats himself, then asks if Kemal is ready to sign over his business. Kemal hangs up and Emir tells Denise that they will possibly get a visitor soon. He exits
Hakan and Zeynep sit at a park bench. He finds it odd that she made him come over, yet she’s keeping quiet. Zeynep starts asking him why he works for Emir, if she had seen him arrest the alien before. Hakan replies that it’s because of Shaffaq.Silence ensues.
In the nursery room, Vildan is standing by the crib and looks at all of Denise’s new presents piled up on the floor. Emir walks in with the baby (who stares straight at the camera for a bit) and says he bought all of those things because he wasn’t sure about Denise’s size, so at least now something in there should fit her. Vildan retorts that he should have asked first, because Denise has too many clothes and shoes to begin with. Emir says she can always use the items anyway, and as he’s heading out the door with Denise still in his arm, he says that he wants Nihan to take a look at everything he’s bought. Vildan says that Nihan is busy and won’t come home til late. Emir looks a little puzzled at the information, but still heads out the door with Denise.
Kemal arrives at the Kozcouglu mansion and parks his car inside the gate. He walks up the steps to ring the doorbell, only to be greeted by Emir and Denise. Kemal stares at the baby first, then looks at Emir with a defeated face. Emir motions him to come into the house. Once in the foyer, Kemal says he agrees to hand over the company and the Kozcouglu shares. Emir taunts him by calling him the ultimate hero, trying to save everyone. He asks him to sign over everything right now, and picks up the documents from the living room table near the foyer. Denise takes off her pacifier, and Kemal starts to look uncertain. He reads over the documents, then signs, but warns Emir not to sing victory yet because Kemal will get everything back. Emir speaks to Denise says “Did you hear that? The good fighter is putting up excuses right now.” He then looks at Kemal and says that those will be good excuses to teach him new lessons. Just before Kemal heads out, he warns Emir to study hard because the test will be even harder for him. He walks out, Denise stares in his direction, and Emir comments that "He's talking about exams, yet the students are out on vacation.”
Kemal heads back to his car and takes one look at the living room window, where he notices Emir and Denise looking back at him. Emir makes Denise wave goodbye to Kemal. Kemal gets into his car and takes one more look, then drives out. Denise continues to wave, and Emir kisses her hand before disappearing from the window.
Zeynep tells Hakan that she wants him to tell her everything that he knows about Emir. She comment that she knows that he’s not one of those typical men that work for aliens, that he’s a much better person than that. She starts singing his praises before asking why Emir threatened to take Shaffaq away from him. Hakan says that it all comes down to Ozan. Zeynep sounds uncomfortable when she asks him what the liaison is. Hakan says “First, Emir accomplished closing off Ozan’s case. Then he got me transferred to a different bureau at the precinct. He threatened me with my brother so that I wouldn’t solve the case.” Zeynep asks him why Emir would do that at all. Hakan believes that Emir is responsible for Ozan’s death. Zeynep is “stunned” silent.
Emir enters his study and flings the signed documents on his desk. He thinks of something, and snidely smiles.
Nihan is still stuck in Asu’s closet, but sneaks out barefoot when she hears Asu watching a novela downstairs. She heads towards the stairs and takes a peek at Asu first, when she notices that Emir is calling her. She rejects the call and Emir leaves her message “Darling, stop punishing me with your absence. I already explained to you why I met up with that girl. If there is no crime, there’s no punishment.”
Nihan goes back to the staircase to peek at Asu again, who stands up and heads for the bathroom. Nihan makes this her opportunity to escape and starts running down the stairs, but halfway there, she hears Asu walk out. Nihan runs back to the closet area, anxiously waiting to see if she’ll need to hide again. Meanwhile, Asu called the building’s super for help with a problem in her bathroom.
At the seaside, a flock of pigeons eat on the sidewalk. Some of them fly away when Kemal is wandering around, looking defeated. He thinks back to the moment when he was supposed to meet Emir and two businessmen for an important meeting at a fancy restaurant. In Emir’s place was Tufan, who told Kemal that Kozcouglu policy with small companies is that the assistants go in place of the boss. Kemal didn’t look thrilled and comments that they have different policies for the big businesses then. Tufan cockily smiled and said “As Emir says, anyone that you don’t see is not your competitor. Don’t you think he has a point?” Kemal said no, because it’s impossible to know who your competitors may be. When one of the businessmen said the meeting should start, Kemal excused himself from the table and said “I doubt this private meeting is going according to protocol. Have a good evening.” He shook the two businessmen’s hands and left. In the present, Kemal makes a phone call to Asli, and asks her to make a report of all of the auctions that Kozcouglu Holding participated in back in 2015, and to particularly make note of the auction regarding the powerplant project in Mandir (?). When he hangs up, the pigeons come back to the sidewalk, and fly away again.
Ayhan is in a parking lot, looking at the passenger seat of his car and sighing upon seeing Leyla’s scarf. Leyla suddenly appears and says she figured she should have come back for it. Ayhan smiles and steps out of the car to hand her back the scarf. Leyla says she was surprised that he didn’t use her scarf as excuse to return to her home. Ayhan comments that he figured he shouldn’t go back because Vildan was there. Leyla wants to know what he means by that. Ayhan says that if he had gone back, whatever important conversation she was having with her sister would be interrupted. Leyla laughs and asks if he really thinks that she’s like a teenager. He says of course not, and she says that she knows who he is, where she met him, and she’s not afraid of Vildan. She asks “Can you really do something so bad that could possibly ruin our friendship? Don’t do it.” Ayhan looks humbled and doesn’t say anything. Leyla takes her scarf back and thanks him- she ties her scarf around her neck. Ayhan continues to sadly watch her.
Evening settles, and Emir is still in his study, trying to reach Nihan. He leaves her another message: “Nihan, where are you? You know that I hate playing hide and seek.” He drops his phone on his desk.
At Asu’s apartment, Nihan is still pacing around the closet area, looking at her phone screen. She notices that Emir called three times, and she starts listening to his final voicemail. She chooses to text him: “Don’t threaten me. I’ll go back home when I calm down.” Just then, the doorbell rings, and Kemal enters the apartment with flowers and pizza. Nihan starts to get jealous and says “So, the love of her life has finally arrived and now she’s happy.” Kemal starts settling in the living room when Asu’s phone rings- he asks why that man keeps calling her. Asu gets nervous and says she doesn’t know. Kemal takes the phone and answers it, while Emir asks if he’s become Asu’s secretary now. Kemal turns irate and demands to know why he’s calling Asu at all. Emir replies that he called to tell Asu to get married with an idiot. Kemal tries putting Emir back into his place, asks him not to call Asu again, and reminds him to stay away from her. He hangs up.
Emir walks out of the Kozcouglu mansion to go find Nihan.
Asu asks Kemal what Emir called for. They both sit down on the couch, and Kemal says “I’m transferring the company over to Emir. He called to report that to you.” Asu stays quiet and eventually asks what happened. Kemal replies that Emir managed to trap him, then asks Asu if she had any idea about Messoud. Asu looks down. Kemal says “Emir found out about Messoud and used it to his advantage, so to prevent Messoud from going to prison, I had to give him the company.” Asu says she’s sorry. Kemal says he’s sorry too, but asks her to make a decision: will she continue to be with a man like him? Asu says that she was never interested in Kemal’s money. Kemal asks her to think about whether she wants to postpone the wedding. Asu says that there’s nothing to think about because he’s more important to her than anything else- she loves him. [Nihan gets annoyed at her response, and calls Asu a leech] Asu reaches over to grab Kemal’s hand, and he smiles as he says “I’m so happy that I’m getting married to someone who doesn’t lie. I’ve always wanted a wife as honest as you are.” Asu looks down in mild shame, then tell him that he’s hungry so she’s going to prepare the table. She walks away to the kitchen.
Kemal decides he’s going to wash his hands, but she tells him to go to the upstairs bathroom instead. Nihan widens her eyes, and immediately hides in the closet again. Just as he reaches the bathroom door, Nihan sneezes and Kemal hears it so he walks towards the closet. He opens the door to find Nihan sitting on the floor, looking up at him embarrassed. He can’t believe that she’s there and she tries to be funny by asking him what’s going on. Kemal begins chastising her for doing exactly what he told her not to do, but Nihan points out that now is not the time for that, adding that they need to figure out a way to get her out of there because she feels like she will burst since she’s been stuck in the closet for hours. Kemal laughs and says “You must have been doing this since you were in the uterus: you must have been playing with the umbilical cord.” Nihan doesn’t find it funny. When Asu asks Kemal if he’s on the phone, he immediately closes the closet door and pretends to be having a conversation on his phone. She comes up the stairs to check up on him, and he hangs up. She reports that the table is ready. He goes downstairs to eat, while Nihan mimics Asu’s voice.
At Nihan’s workshop, Emir parks and finds Yasemin outside. He approaches and Yasemin comments that it’s been a while since she’s seen him around here. Emir says he’s looking for Nihan. Yasemin says that she's not here. They stand in silence for a bit, until Emir asks if he can borrow her phone. Yasemin wants to know why, and Emir says he wants to dial Nihan because he wants to see if she’ll answer through that number instead. [Meanwhile, Nihan is still in the dark closet when she notices Yasemin is calling. She rejects the call.] Yasemin asks if Emir made Nihan upset again, but Emir says he’s actually the cause of Nihan’s joy. He asks her why she hasn’t been visiting Nihan lately. Yasemin says that she wasn’t in the country. Emir proposes “What would you say if you protect you best friend from me?” Yasemin looks confused.
Asu asks Kemal if he wants anything else to eat. He says no. Asu tells him that he’s everything in her life, and asks him to administer Alacahan Enterprises. Kemal tells her to forget about it, but she asks him to think about it first. They’re interrupted when he gets a text from Nihan: “Asu wants to look over her possessions. She’s unashamed about it.” Kemal appears to roll his eyes, and Asu asks if everything is ok. He says yes. Asu continues to tell him that her uncle would have loved it if he was at the head of the company. Kemal asks her again to stop. She asks him what he’s going to do then. Kemal says he has something in mind: he’s going to recuperate everything Emir took from him, and more. He gets another text from Nihan: “Do you have any idea on how to get me out of here?” Asu comments “Today you’re getting a lot of messages.” Kemal says that she’s right, so he’s going to ignore them and only concentrate on her. He looks up at the stairs and sees Nihan motioning for him to hurry up, so he asks Asu for more pizza. Asu goes to the kitchen and Kemal walks to the base of the stairs as Nihan rushes down and nudges him before heading to the left side of the apartment. Asu comes back with the pizza and says she can’t believe that their relationship is back to normal, so Kemal grabs ahold of her and says “It was you who has always supported me.” Asu asks him not to embarrass her. Kemal continues flirting and asks “Do you want to go upstairs?” She replies “Of course.” He follows her up the steps as Nihan rushes past the staircase and gives Kemal a warning look before heading for the exit. Asu notes that he’s strange and asks if he’s ok. He affirms and they continue up the steps.
Nihan finally exits the apartment and puts her boots back on. She calls Kemal.
Upstairs, Kemal tells Asu that he’s very fortunate, but is interrupted when he gets a phone call. Asu gets annoyed and says that the ringing will never stop. Kemal excuses himself by saying that he needs to answer because it could be about the company. He steps off to the side and answers.
Nihan is still out in the hallway, adamant that Kemal answer the phone. When Kemal finally does, she says “I got out. You come out too, now.” Kemal wants to know why. She asks if he’s doing this to annoy her, and he says no. Nihan concedes that he should stay then, apologizing for having called him. She hangs up and waits for the elevator. Meanwhile, Kemal says to the dead phone line: “Fine, I’ll go right now.” Asu witnesses and asks if he will leave right now. Kemal confirms, takes his jacket and apologizes. Asu brushes it aside and closes the door after him.
Kemal notices the elevator is just closing and figures Nihan is in there. He places his hand inbetween the closing doors and manages to get in. He starts demanding to know what she was doing in the apartment, and if Zehir helped her. Nihan says that she has her own ways. Kemal is sure of that, and smiles. He asks if she liked it, and she retorts that they are not children anymore. Kemal taunts that she obviously still is, adding that Asu makes her jealous. Nihan immediately reacts to say that she doesn’t. She asks why he’s smiling so widely, and he answers that he loves seeing her jealous. He starts getting closer to her as they continue arguing. She starts getting uncomfortable and asks him not to get closer, but he tells her to not get nervous as he gets her against the elevator wall. He asks her to tell her just once that she’s jealous for him. Nihan gets cocky and asks “What if I don’t say it?” He whispers and says “I’ll do something that I’ll never regret.” He starts caressing her face and she starts falling for him, and quickly says “Kemal, I’m not jealous.” They were just about to kiss but the elevator doors open and a lady rushes inside. Kemal and Nihan end up on opposite ends, Kemal smiling at her. They reach the garage level and walk out.
As they reach the garage, Kemal notices that something is wrong. Nihan answers that she didn’t bring her car, so he offers to take her to it. Nihan immediately says that won’t be necessary, but he says he’ll do it anyway. She follows him as he leads her to his car and opens his door for her. She gets into the passenger side and he soon drives off.
Emir is driving but talking on the phone with Efsame, asking if Nihan has come back yet. She says no. He hangs up and continues on his way somewhere.
At the Soydere’s, Fehime is showing Zeynep some fabrics. She comments that they’re pretty, but Zeynep is so busy thinking about Emir that she doesn’t respond. Fehime asks her if she’s ok, if she got into a fight with her boyfriend. Zeynep denies it but Fehime says she knows that something is wrong. Just then, Zeynep gets a call from Emir, so she tells her mother she’s going to her room. Fehime asks if her boyfriend is the one calling. Zeynep affirms and exits the kitchen. In the hallway, she crosses Banu’s path. Zeynep rushes into her room and slams the door, but Banu gets curious and starts listening through the wall. When Zeynep answers the phone, Emir tells her to be ready in ten minutes because he’s coming for her. Zeynep says that she can’t because her mother is home right now. Emir doesn’t care and informs her that she has nine minutes left. He hangs up and Zeynep is nervous.
Fehime walks out of the kitchen and catches Banu spying. She grabs her arm and asks her if she really is spying on Zeynep. Banu says “Your daughter is lying to you, but you don’t even see it.” Zeynep then rushes out of her room and puts her jacket on, telling Fehime that she’s going to meet Sema for a few minutes. Fehime stares at her daughter’s hasty exit, then tells Banu: “I will tell you this in a good way, don’t ruin the peace of this family. Leave Zeynep alone.” Banu counters with “You’d know much more about your daughter if you were attentive to her and not me.” Fehime asks what she’s talking about. Banu replies that if she’s interested in learning the truth, she should go after her daughter right now. Fehime retorts that she knows all about Zeynep’s boyfriend already, so she reminds Banu to drop the hostilities already. Banu says “Well, you know what you’re doing” and she makes her exit. Fehime is left with the doubt.
Kemal is driving Nihan home. They’re both silent until he decides to ask her what’s wrong. She says nothing. He asks where her car is, and she vaguely responds with “Just ahead.” She sighs, then tells him that she seriously needs to go to the bathroom because she’s been holding it in all day. Kemal laughs, and Nihan asks if they could please make a rest stop. He does.
Zeynep waits for Emir’s car just down the block from her house. As soon as he arrives, Fehime just stepped out of the gate and noticed Zeynep getting into a car. Zeynep asks Emir to drive away now because she doesn’t want to risk being seen.
Nihan finally comes back from the bathroom and meets Kemal in the street. He asks if she’s ok, and she comments that he’s now having fun with her. Kemal says he’s just joking. Nihan smiles and asks if he really did transfer his company over to Emir. Kemal holds silence, and Nihan says she was hoping he’d be able to wait a bit longer to ruin that moment. Kemal says he has nothing to do with Asu having handed over the flashdrive to Emir. Nihan says she can’t believe Asu is so wicked, while Kemal says that Asu carries it in her blood. Nihan takes the opportunity to inform him that she overheard Asu speaking to Galip over the phone, and that they’re going to meet-up soon. She suggests that Galip is aware that Asu is his daughter. Kemal asks if she’s sure, and Nihan says yes, that those two are planning something behind Emir’s back. Kemal quietly thinks, and Nihan wants to know what he’s up to. He replies that he will follow their lead. When Nihan asks how, Kemal says he’d rather keep her out of problems and not tell her anything. Nihan chides that he hasn’t tired yet of protecting her. Kemal asks her to stay out of trouble, but Nihan says that she won’t until she finds out who killed her brother. Kemal wonders if Asu possibly knows who the killer is, and Nihan says “Maybe I go home to the killer every night. Sometimes I feel like I’m in hell itself.” Kemal tells her not to worry because he will save her and Denise from Emir. He swears he’ll find out the truth and make them all pay for it. He’ll serve justice on all of them. Nihan asks how much longer he will continue his relationship with Asu, if he really will get married to her. Kemal doesn’t answer. Nihan presses further, and Kemal claims he will go as far as he needs to go. Nihan is disgusted that he’ll marry Asu, but Kemal counters that it’s a good idea. Nihan still can’t believe it and says that he only has five days left. Kemal says that it’s not just five days.
Emir and Zeynep are still in his car. He asks her if Nihan has contacted her today. She says no. Emir grabs her arm and threatens that he’ll make her tell the whole world the truth, that she killed Ozan. Zeynep plays her card right there and tells him that if he dares, she’d be forced to tell everyone about how he covered up Ozan’s death. Emir asks her what she’s talking about. Zeynep says that he’s just as scared about this whole thing as she is. She reproaches him for never protecting her, and wants to know why. Emir says that she has no right to even ask, and that her lips are to remain closed. Zeynep asks how he plans to keep her quiet. He does it with a kiss.
Fehime witnesses the terrible kiss from behind the car. She’s devasted.
When the kiss ends, Zeynep asks Emir if he loves her. He stays quiet, and she says that that’s a good enough answer. As she’s about to exit the car, he holds her back and asks her to remain silent and not put her life in danger. Zeynep claims that they will both keep each other alive. Emir says that while she may occupy the place that Nihan keeps vacant, he reminds her not to interfere in his marriage because she will not be able to break them up. He says that Zeynep will only end up hurting herself. Zeynep says that they’ll see about that. He reminds her again that he’s covered everything up really well, but that she shouldn’t make any moves or Nihan will suspect her. She says ok and finally exits the car.
In the sidewalk, Zeynep watches Emir drive away. Fehime is watching her, with angry tears in her eyes. When Zeynep starts to walk back home, she notices Fehime standing just ahead. “Mother?” She asks. Fehime starts walking down the road to meet her, and slaps her. Zeynep tries to give her an explanation, but Fehime doesn’t care to listen and slaps her again. “What do you want to explain to me? What do you have to explain? I saw it all!” Zeynep cowers but Fehime grabs ahold of her arm and asks if her affair with Emir was the reason why Kemal went to shoot him last year. Zeynep holds silence and Fehime curses- she starts dragging her daughter home and they both ugly cry on the way. Fehime orders her to shut up, then tells her that she’ll have to explain this to Hussein. Zeynep threatens her to not continue dragging her home or else she’ll start screaming. Fehime is not moved and continues to pull her home, so now Zeynep asks her mother to kill her first so that she won’t have to answer to her father. Fehime says she doesn’t care- she’s still going to tell Hussein everything. At the front of the gate, Fehime dumps Zeynep to the floor, and their cries start to echo in the street. Zeynep watches her mother cry uncontrollably and does a final shot of manipulation: “Mother, think of my father, if you won’t think of me. Think of father, please. He’ll get a heartattack.” She starts tries holding Fehime down, who eventually crouches in agony as Zeynep says “I’ll do anything you say, I’ll take any punishment you give me, I swear. I promise I’ll never see Emir ever again. Please don’t tell my father anything, I won’t be able to deal with the guilt if something happens to him. Do you hear me? Don’t tell him, I beg you.” By this point, Fehime is on her knees and broken down. Zeynep hugs her and begs her not to tell Hussein. “You won’t tell my father, right? You won’t?” She continues to hammer down, while Fehime holds her hands up to her ears. In the end, Fehime curses her daughter multiple times for doing this.
Nihan and Kemal are at the parking space by the seaside (?). She thanks him for everything. He asks her not to do anything without telling him first- he wants her to trust him. Nihan doesn’t say anything and exits the car. Kemal does the same, and watches as she goes to her car and gets into the driver’s seat. He looks hopeful at first, sad as she drives out of there, then looks as if he’s scheming something.
RINGO:
Ep. 72: A One-Sided Bridal War
We start with Brenda about to pass out as she cries that they can’t do this to her! She can’t handle this! As she continues her whining, Manuel and Eva helps her inside.
Isabel asks Manrique if they have enough information to show that there was a mishandling of funds; so Manrique replies that they would have to consult with and attorney. After she mentions that she knows of an attorney, she asks when he discovered the fraud; he replies that he discovered it two days before Ivan was killed. Isabel thinks that whoever is behind the fraud is also behind Ivan’s murder (you’re getting hot, Isa!)
Brenda continues her tantrum; she needs to talk to the manager so they can postpone Guachin’s wedding. Rosa runs in and confirms to Julia that Guachin is getting married there. After Julia leaves, Ringo approaches and asks Rosa if she knew that Brenda was getting married there. Rosa didn’t know, but points out that Julia looked very pretty.
Inside, Brenda is bawling because she can’t believe she is getting married at the same place as that guy with the dyed spiked hair. If her father were there, he would not allow this! Julia suggests that she stop thinking about Guachin and concentrate on the fact that she is marrying the best man in the world. After Eva goes for the miraculous tea, Julia manages to calm Brenda down…somewhat.
In the other room, Oso and Ringo comment on Brenda’s wedding being there. Guachin is nervous because Luchis has not arrived; so Rafa wonders if she may have changed her mind. When Pepe smirks tah Luchis would not lose out on a good thing, Guachin frowns that Luchis knows nothing about his money (or so he thinks)! Teresa approaches and introduces her friend Renato (WTG, Teresa!) who is glad to finally meet Ringo since he has admired Ringo’s boxing.
At Brenda’s reception, Max and Manuel comment that they will be going over to Guachin’s wedding as soon as they can. Alejo approaches to thank them for coming, but Diego comes and takes him away. Manuel has no idea how Julia can put up with Diego. When
Guachin calls Luchis since she is late and the judge will have to leave soon. Gloria asks if Ringo isn’t going to congratulate his friend, Alejo, but Ringo is not sure. Luchis finally arrives escorted by her father.
Brenda wonders if she looks fat; Julia assures her that her pregnancy is not noticeable. Eva comes in to tell them that the judge has arrived
Ringo goes over to congratulate Alejo. Alejo thanks him and apologizes for not sending him an invitation, but Ringo understands. Brenda enters and Manuel escorts her to Alejo. The judge starts the rites. Ringo returns to the other reception and Gloria asks where he was as the judge starts the rites for Guachin and Luchis.
Turco and Carrizo arrive at Brenda’s wedding; and Diego mentions that Guachin is in the next ballroom marrying Luchis. Carrizo is muy surprised.
Tariq is in a yellow cab, following Zehir as he goes to meet Zera. Tariq gets out of the taxi and starts following Zehir, watching him as he rings the doorbell. Just then, Zera comes running down the gate, and they both hug and kiss. Tariq is filming everything, convinced he got Zehir in his hands.
Fehime and Zeynep have collected themselves as much as they could, and go into the home. At the front door, Zeynep still asks her mother if she won’t tell Hussein anything. Fehime just stares at her, then goes into the house. Hussein approaches the foyer to ask if they’re ok, because he notices that they both got soaked in the rain. He demands to know what’s going on, and Fehime was about to spill the beans when Banu appears, looking confident that Zeynep has finally been discovered. Zeynep starts fabricating her lie: she got into an argument with her mother while they were outside. Banu starts smiling in a gloating manner. Zeynep notices and says “Mother, please don’t let her make fun of us.” When Banu asks if she’s referring to her, Hussein tells Zeynep not to speak like that to her sister in law. He demands to know what really happened. Fehime looks heartbroken but ends up lying: “They’ll come and ask for your daughter’s hand. That officer, Hakan, he wants to get married as soon as possible with Zeynep.” Banu can’t believe that Zeynep is getting away with it again. Hussein asks if what Fehime said is true. Zeynep tries to think of something else to say, but ends up going with the lie. Fehime watches her with anger.
Denise is in her crib, being watched over by Emir again. He asks her when will she start talking, then says “I was never the chosen one, I was the son whose mother abandoned him, and now I’m the husband that Nihan doesn’t want. But you, you chose me as your father, you decided to be my daughter.”
Kemal gets to his office building and stands still for a while, as if noticing that something is wrong. He enters his office anyway and finds Asli’s reports on Kozcouglu Holding’s 2015 auctions. Kemal sits down and starts perusing them.
Nihan walks into the nursery and sees all of Denise’s new clothes and shoes on the floor. She notices that Denise isn’t in her crib. When she goes to look for Emir, she finds Denise laying in bed next to Emir. He welcomes Nihan, and comments that Denise is sleeping with her father. Nihan tells him not in his dreams, and immediately picks up the baby. Emir asks her if she’s scared that Denise could end up loving him, since she (the baby) chose him as her father. Nihan tells him to knock it off, and Emir asks if she’s still mad about Zeynep. He claims that he met up with her to clarify about what happened the day Ozan died. When he doesn’t get the response that he wants, he grudgingly tells her that his heart keeps breaking at trying to love her. Nihan doesn’t care and leaves the room.
Kemal spends the entire night looking at all of Asli’s reports.
The next day, Nihan lays Denise back in the crib. As she walks out, Emir shows up and says good morning. Nihan warns him that Denise has just fallen asleep, but Emir walks in to check up on the baby anyway. Nihan walks in and reminds him that Denise already has a father, and that even if their marriage were to turn real someday, he would never be Denise’s father. Emir reminds her that he’s the one who puts the rules down, and asks her not to ruin this for him. He walks out as Vildan walks in, and Nihan tells her that Emir’s love is sickening.
Kemal is in his office, contacting every possible person he can, who was at the powerplant auction. “Can you prove that Galip Kozcouglu offered you money in exchange for you not to participate in the auction? Would you be willing to cooperate with me? Good. I’ll make sure he pays for this.” His desk is covered with documents of all the people he’s called already.
Kemal calls Ayhan because he wants to see him. He tells him that one of the names of the directors at Kozcouglu Holding will change today.
Tariq goes into Zeynep’s room to ask if what Fehime told him is true. She doesn’t answer him. Tariq asks if she would lie to him and she motions no. He wants to know what’s going on, and Zeynep hugs him, asking him to forgive her.
Fehime miserably dresses up Hussein in a black jacket in the foyer. He asks her not to be mad, let things go as they should, and then heads out to work. Fehime goes to the kitchen.
Kemal, Zehir and Ayhan are in the warehouse. They’re planning to round up all of the witnesses at the powerplant auction. Ayhan is soon seen driving around as his men bring a man into his car (similar to how Rezat was brought to his car last week).
When all the witnesses have been gathered, Kemal is given the ok to start the next phase of the plan. Kemal is currently driving to Kozcouglu Holding.
Galip looks at the transfer papers that Kemal signed yesterday, and claims to be proud of his son. Emir says that this is only a small company that’s practically worthless, but Galip says that in spirit, this means so much more to them. At that moment, Pelin knocks on the door and announces that Kemal is waiting to speak with Emir. Galip and Emir start joking around. When Kemal walks in, he says he’s ready to propose something. Emir says he won’t give him the company back. Kemal says he wants his stocks back. The Kozcouglus laugh, until Kemal slams down some documents and reminds them about the powerplant auction. He says that he’s aware of foul play at this auction, not just by paying people off, but also by not allowing several competitors form even entering it. Galip says this is nonsense, but Kemal warns that they have one day to make their choice, or else he’ll report them to the police. Galip says he’ll never do it, but Kemal says he will have to wait for the consequences then. Kemal leaves, and Galip curses him. Emir says that they need to immediately contact every major player at that auction so that they can get ahead of Kemal, because he doesn’t plan on bowing down to him.
Kemal walks out of Emir’s office when he meets Nihan coming in to work. She asks him what he’s doing there, and he responds that he’s only trying to see her everyday. She asks him not to speak like that or everyone will think that they have something going on. Kemal doesn’t seem concerned about that, then reports that the Kozcouglus will transfer him the stocks back by the end of the day. He salutes Nihan as he heads out, and she does the same.
Ep. 72, Part 2: A One-Sided Bridal War
The judge tells Luchis and Guachin that a way to establish trust is to share everything; even the password to their phones…from now on their password will be their wedding date. (Luchis was not happy!)
Alejo and Brenda say their vows. The judge declares them husband and wife. Carrizo chides Turco for not telling him about Luchis getting married…he will not allow it! As Guachin and Luchis say their vows, Carrizo runs in and grabs Luchis…she can’t get married because she is the love of his life. Carrizo and Guachin have a tug of war with Luchis. After Guachin tells Carrizo to leave, Carrizo pushes him but Ringo and Rafa grab Carrizo and lead him out.
Oso calms Guachin down and tells Pepe to follow him. The judge then tells them that they should continue and then pronounces them husband and wife. Outside, Carrizo yells that Luchis can’t marry that midget! Carrizo finally calms down when Turco comes in with the little girl who is crying. After he hands her to Carrizo, Rosa asks to help him calm the little girl down. When she asks who the little girl is, Carrizo explains that Celia is his daughter; the mother left them.
Photos are taken at Brenda’s reception and everyone claps and cheers for the couple. Diego asks Julia to dance and though she hesitates, she agrees. After Diego tells her how happy he is that they are together, Julia warns him that if he starts with his theatrics, she will go sit down. As Brenda dances with Alejo, she notices the music from the other ballroom...she thinks it’s horrible and wants to go do something about it. She then overhears a couple mentioning that they are going to the Guachin’s reception. She has another hissy fit.
Ringo and Julia walk out into the lobby at the same time. After Ringo comments that they keep seeing each other, Julia assures him that there is nothing between them…especially since he has Gloria living with him. Ringo reminds her that he already explained; so Julia tells him about going to talk to him at his house, but Gloria answered the door. When he asks why she went, Julia explains that she was going to tell him that she believed in him, but when she saw Gloria, all her doubts returned. After Ringo asserts that there is nothing between him and Gloria, Julia tells him that it doesn’t matter since it won’t change things. Ringo agrees since she is still with Diego and believes everything he says. Julia responds that she has not been able to prove otherwise…and it doesn’t matter whose fault it is; at this point they won’t be able to overcome all their mistakes, nor will they be able to look at each other without reproaches.
At Brenda’s reception, Brenda demands that Alejo do something since everyone is going over to Guachin’s reception. Since he refuses, she goes over herself and starts yelling…they need to stop the music! She grabs Eva and calls her a traitor. She then grabs Elsa and tells her she won’t do this to her!! Damasio tries to intervene, but Brenda insists that Elsa is her employee and she can make her do anything…Elsa is a hypocrite! Alejo pills her away and calms her down by telling her that he reserved a suite for their wedding night. After they leave, all the couples dance.
In the lobby, Diego demands to know where Julia was. After she replies that she was in the restroom, Diego suggests that there is no reason to stay there any longer, so they leave.
Pepe sees Ringo in the lobby. Ringo tells him that he was able to talk to Julia and she left him feeling worse. When Pepe asks him about Gloria, Ringo assures him that Gloria is only living at his house because she has no where else to live…his heart belongs to Julia.
Turco returns and finds out that Brenda’s reception in over so he goes over to Guachin’s reception. When he sees Gloria and Ringo dancing, he assumes that they got back together…and no one makes a fool of Turco!
Galip is unable to get anywhere with his contacts. Tufan enters the office and tells them that they can’t find anyone either. Emir curses because he realizes that Kemal got to them first.
Merzat (the private investigator) comes to meet Vildan and give her information over Ayhan Kandarli. He asks that they sit down, because he has found very important information on that man.
Emir is speaking to his attorney and asking for solutions to his new problem. The attorney suggests that Emir transfer the stocks back, and simply wait until the statute of limitations expires before he gets them back in his name. However, the stocks need to be transferred over to someone who can’t be linked back to them or the company. Galip tells Emir that they must do this, but Emir isn’t convinced they can find anyone. Galip says that they need to hand the stocks over to Asu Alacahan. Emir says why would he hand the stocks over to Kemal’s girlfriend in the first place? Galip blows up Emir when he tells him that they both know that Asu is a Kozcouglu so there’s no one out there better than her to handle their stocks. Emir thinks back to when Asu told him that Galip wanted to hand over some Kozcouglu stocks to her, and guesses that his father is trying to give her an inheritance. He tells Galip that this won’t happen, so he’ll have to find other solutions.
Asu receives a call from Galip. He says he needs to see her immediately. She agrees. Galip hangs up and asks Pelin to unite the shareholders in the large conference room for a meeting, but he doesn’t want Emir to find out until the last minute.
Vildan is in the foyer and says goodbye to the investigator. He says he had hoped to have brought her better news. When he leaves, Vildan pulls up Leyla’s number and contemplates calling her.
Leyla and Nihan are speaking in a small conference room, when Pelin comes in and tells them about the board meeting at 4pm. Leyla asks what this is all about, and Nihan rightly concludes that the stocks will not be transferred back to Kemal. She calls Kemal (who’s driving) to tell him that Galip is already on the move. Kemal, however, is unfazed and predicted that this would happen.
Asu is driving to meet Galip, not realizing that Kemal is following her. Once at the seaside, Galip tells her that he wants to transfer the stocks over to her name, but that he doesn’t want her to tell Kemal anything about them. She robotically tells him that she will do as told. Galip says that he will go to the company right now and prepare the transfer. She simply says ok, and he decides to leave. When he’s gone, Asu pulls out her phone to call Emir, but stops short when she sees Kemal walking up to her, demanding to know why she was just with Galip. Asu has no answers, and Kemal starts reproaching her for always being around the Kozcouglus and always receiving things from them. He asks that she tell him what she has to do with them, or else he’ll break off the engagement. Asu tells him a partial truth: Galip offered to give her the stocks inexchange for Kemal’s life. She starts tearing up, but Kemal wants to know why they would want to transfer the stocks to her in the first place. Asu claims that she’s the perfect person because they’re using her fiancé as a weapon to do their bidding. Kemal comments that he’s being stabbed in the back again.
Asu is at Galip’s office, signing the documents that transfer the stocks to her. The attorney congratulates her and she quickly exits. At that point, Galip calls Pelin to ask if all the directors are together, and when that’s confirmed, he gives the ok for Emir to find out about the meeting.
Ep. 72, Part 3: A One-Sided Bridal War
Alejo shows Brenda their suite. After he carries her in, Brenda is still obsessing about her wedding and is going to sue the hall because they ruined her wedding, Alejo thinks that they have better things to think about and opens a bottle of wine.
Julia enters her bedroom and recalls how Ringo told her that he would always be there for her…and that Diego is a criminal. She cries softly.
At Turco’s house, Turco is drinking since Gloria is back with Ringo. After Carrizo tells him to get over her, Celia cries hysterically that she misses her mother. Carrizo has no idea how to quiet her, so Turco suggests that Rosa would have already found a way.
At the reception, Renato is making a move on Teresa, but she reminds him that he has already been married four times. Renato makes light of it and tells her that he can always get married a fifth time…she could introduce him as her boyfriend.
Carrizo arrives t Guachin’s reception and looks for Rosa to ask for help with Celia who won’t stop crying. Guachin approaches so Carrizo assures him that he is not there to make trouble. Rosa explains that Carrizo is only there to ask for her help; she then asks him to tell Oso that she’ll be back soon. ON the other side of the room, Oso and Ringo comment about Teresa’s’ man friend. Selma, Luchis’s aunt approaches and introduces herself. She asks Manuel to dance. Eva is tired and sits down because her feet hurt. Max rubs them and tells her that her he likes her feet…her skin, her eyes …everything. Eva blesses the day that he decided to leave the seminary. After they tell each other that they never want to leave each other, Max, already on his knees, takes out a ring and proposes; Eva quickly nods and says, “YES!” Hugs and kisses.
At Turco’s, Rosa’s phone rings but she left it on the table; and Carrizo sees that it’s Oso so he doesn’t want to answer it. After Rosa returns from calming Celia, Carrizo offers to take her back, but Turco tells him to call a taxi; he needs Carrizo there with him. When Carrizo insists on taking Rosa back, Turco warns him that if he leaves, he won’t open the door when he returns. Carrizo stands his ground and goes for Celia. Rosa gives Turco the evil eye and tells him that she now knows why Gloria left him.
Ringo teases Teresa about Renato. After she leaves to go to bed, Ringo sits on the couch and thinks about what Julia told him about not being able to trust each other anymore.
Outside, Carrizo wonders where he is going to sleep since Turco won’t let him back in. Rosa suggests that she can ask the land lady if she has a room. Inside Turco cries since everyone leaves him. After he looks at Gloria’s picture and mumbles that he will not lose, he calls Rúas and tells him that he needs a favor.
Rosa is at her apartment building telling Carrizo to make sure he pays his rent. Oso approaches and wonders what is going on.
Rúas is with Turco and hands him that oh-so-famous little brown bottle. Turco assures him that he only wants it so that he can sleep better.
RINGO:
Ep. 72, Part 4: A One-Sided Bridal War
Rosa and Oso enter her apartment. She wonders why Oso is so angry. Oso thinks he has every right to be angry since she left the reception without telling him and now he finds that Carrizo will be living in the same building. Rosa explains that she told Guachin to tell him she was leaving. She then explains that she only went to help Carrizo with his little girl. After Oso advises her not to do nice things that could appear to be bad, Rosa is upset that Oso doesn’t trust her and tells him to leave.
The next day—
Susana sees Guevara at the gym and tells him that she needs to see him in her office.
Turco goes to see Gloria at Ringo’s house. After he assures her that he is there is good faith and wants to give her a list of things that he will give her when they divorce, she starts to look at the paper, but he grabs her and knocks her out with chloroform. He tells her that his is an act of love. When she wakes up she will be at their home that she should never have left…this is not a kidnapping, this is a rescue!
At the gym, Isabel approaches Ringo and asks to talk to him privately; so, they go to Oso’s office
Susana shows Guevara a new technique that she found on line. When he looks at it, he only sees a blur, but tells her it’s a good idea. Susana tells him to stop pretending; she knows he can’t see well and asks what is wrong with his sight. Guevara tells her that his eyes are just tired and he forgot his glasses. Susana knows he is lying since she has been observing him.
At Oso’s office, Isabel tells Ringo that she is gathering evidence to find out who was behind Ivan’s kidnapping and murder; she needs his help. She knows Ivan trusted him and she asks what he knows about Diego. Ta-ta-ta-TUM!!
Emir just stepped out of his office when he sees Asu walk towards the elevator. He realizes that Galip moved behind his back, and Asu apologizes as the elevator closes. When his father walks out of his office, Emir asks if they can speak in private, but Galip says that it’s all done with already, and that they have to go to the meeting. Emir tries to behave, but is clearly ready to burst.
At the shareholder’s meeting, Galip announces he’s made the decision to retire from his company. He mentions that Kozcouglu Holding is a family company, and that he’s done 40 yrs of uninterrupted work. He’s interrupted by Leyla at that moment, who asks if his shares were transferred over to Emir. Galip replies no, and all the shareholders go up in arms about it. Galip tells them all to calm down because his stocks have been transferred to a trustworthy person, and that they remain safe and sound. Nihan asks who that person is
Kemal walks into the meeting, and everyone looks shocked.
*****
Hello!
I'm not sure what will happen with Zehir, but it looks pretty bad right now. I refuse to believe he's unaware that Zera set him up with the signature. I can't believe that he's so blind, unless he's setting her up.
Pathetic Zeynep still gets away with it. Face it, Fehime isn't actually scary. What can she even do? To be honest, I don't understand what Zeynep is so afraid of. She's a widow. She's not some innocent little girl. But yeah, I guess appearances are everything. I can understand that part.
I still have hope that Tariq wasn't the traitor, even if the evidence does seem to point otherwise.
Nihan in that apartment. Honestly I don't know if I would have been able to wait so long. That must have been a personal hell- imagine if she had to wait until Asu went to work the next day? That would have been one fright Asu would have had if she had discovered Nihan in her apartment. I would never feel safe there ever again.
RGV, I actually didn't get Tariq's comment to Zeynep. Who's scared of her? She's good at lying, but not much else. Weird.
Nina, I agree that Emir's no fun without his alien face. Though he's been kind of using them when he hangs out with Denise. I think he's trying to teach her ways. I have to admit, I like seeing him taken with her. I don't think he's faking it to win over Nihan, or to torture her. It seems he genuinely thinks Denise called him dad!
RINGO
Thank you, RgvChick, for the more than excellent recap of a very annoying episode full of malentendidos again. There are only so many of those I can take and I am on overload.
What I liked: the END with Isabel having worked her way to Ringo. Any part of the wedding that had nothing to do with
Brenda or Carrizo or Gloria or Turco.
What I disliked: Anything to do with a screaming meemy Brenda. Alejo married that?
Turco drugging Gloria.Really? At least she isn’t still living with Ringo. Just a question: if Ringo got married,
would he take her along on the honeymoon and have her live in his new household, too? She needs to get
JOB and maybe a roommate. “Mother of my child” response from Ringo /even him dancing with her:
RIDICULOUS.
Thanks again, RgvChick, for taking on this mess of an episode.
Chickie, thank you. I am trying to catch up on all the crazy.
Anonfri...Thank you. Your recaps help me translate all the smoldering looks.
RINGO
Totally clever title Rgv Chick!
While your entire recap was cause for great celebration (unlike the weddings :))it is your wise, wry comments that resonate perfectly: "(WTG, Teresa!)" and "that oh-so-famous little brown bottle". Excellent.
You worked wonders capturing discussions between our non-favorite, non-couple: "Julia responds that she has not been able to prove otherwise…and it doesn’t matter whose fault it is; at this point they won’t be able to overcome all their mistakes, nor will they be able to look at each other without reproaches. Really? And then ”…Diego demands to know where Julia was". Is Julia a child on a short leash?? Who would ever put up with that? Please put a “DNR” sign on both of these relationships as there is no hope for survival.
Alejo remains deaf and blind to a whining, out of control (now) wife. You made your bed buddy...
"Max rubs them and tells her that her he likes her feet…her skin, her eyes …everything. Eva blesses the day that he decided to leave the seminary" was lovely. I am assuming the ring had a diamond albeit a very tiny one!
There will likely be break ups of a few of the couples as the fissures are already there. Beyond that, I mourn the loss of Turco and Carrizo's friendship. Carrizo always seemed to keep Turco rather sane. Until now of course. Kidnapping Gloria? Still wondering why Carrizo's lovely daughter has appeared.
I did expect a high police presence at the weddings. Primarily as Tonya Harding has lodged a complaint that Brenda heisted her prized skating costume. There were other crimes of fashion including Turco's suit and several Hair Don't including the unseemly knitting needles protruding out of Brenda's head and Guachin's plaited hair :)
Rgv Chick, you've outdone yourself once again. This was wonderful! Every single word. Thank you!
Diana
RINGO
Our comments crossed Jarifa and Susanlynn. Good morning.
"malentendidos" - indeed Jarifa. And yes, Isabel will likely be the key to unmasking Diego. It can't come soon enough, can it? I also loved "screaming meemy Brenda. Alejo married that?" You nailed that.
Susanlynn, yes, a whole lot of crazy going on.
Diana
RINGO
Diana, I just wanted a happy wedding episode. Was that too much to ask???? Wah! Anyway, there better be a good one with Ringo and Julia at the end but will Gloria be his “best lady”? LOL
Also, I remember from somewhere that Brenda and Alejo were going to live in the family home. How long will he last?
RINGO
Add me to the list of those who liked the title, Rgv Chick. Brenda, of course, is capable of having a one-sided war with the entire world. What an annoying pill of a person--yikes! Enjoyed so much about this recap:
(you're getting hot, Isa!) Finally, someone is using her noggin
"magical tea". Yes, I must say I'm mystified by the wondrous powers té de tila has in these stories. I once invested in some and I must say, the tea did absolutely nothing for me. On the other hand, when a relative of mine is stressed, he comes to my house and drinks my Trader Joe's Sleepytime tea. Several cups of it. So maybe "universal solvent tea" works for some people.
Another recurring theme--these judges for civil ceremonies must sure be booked--"they're always going to leave soon" so the boda is put on speed dial. And yikes, exchanging passwords for the phones! That's a new one. What could possibly go wrong?
Lastly, the sweet little foot rub. Reminds me of a real life story of a friend who ran a ballet studio and had very sore feet at the end of the day. During the early months of a romance, her beau rubbed her feet every night. Needless to say, that tender ritual did not last for too many months. But it sure was a nice beginning.
Well, your recap was a treat from beginning to end so no complaints here! Thanks Rgv Chick.
RINGO
Jarifa, remember when there were beautiful weddings and the right people actually married each other? :)
Although your wish wasn't granted last night, perhaps one of our "second tier" couples, Oso and Rosa or Eva and Max might step up?
I am really surprised Alejo keeps going along as the waves in Brenda's wake are getting bigger and stormier. Perhaps it will be moving home that will cause him to snap. Something has to!
Diana
"ETERNO":
Kirby: How long are they're dragging this Turkish TV Drama out ? It seems like Univision is desperate.
RINGO #69
Gracias, RGV Chick. Great work and I agree with Diana's comments. BTW was this a Freudian slip?: Alejo pills her away and calms her down by telling her that he reserved a suite for their wedding night. She sure as hell isn't taking her pills! I have lost hope that Alejo will see her for what she is.
Guachin will also be in for a serious disappointment.
And finally someone is on Diego's tail. I hope we see this happen in full for the finale.
RINGO
Thank you, Jarifa, Diana, JudyB and Urban A; you all are way too generous and kind. Susanlynn, hope you catch up soon...there are only 13 episodes left! YAAYY!!
Jarifa, this was a very annoying episode and recapping it was frustrating!! These directors/writers must be on steroids or they suffer from extreme ADHD. Good grief, why can't they finish a scene without splitting it into itty bitty pieces. ARGHH!
Ditto to everyone's comments regarding screaming meemy Brenda (thank you, Jarifa). And Diana thank you for confirming those "unseemly knitting needles protruding out of Brenda's head;" so that is what made me think of an "alien" bride! LOL How Alejo can stay so calm and put up with all the screeching and whining is mind-boggling. Just about any other man would have put her over his shoulder and carried her out...or simply walked out...alone. He'll be sleeping on a bed of dy-no-mite; poor guy but as Diana stated, he made that bed with plenty of warning.
JudyB, "universal solvent tea" I must write that down! I kept trying to remember the exact term, but with all the other haywired stuff going on, I just couldn't think. And the foot rub was really sweet; I'm glad there is a couple who shows promise...and they actually do luurve each other.
Urban A, "BTW was this a Freudian slip?: Alejo pills her away..." LOL Yes, it was!
Jarifa, " I just wanted a happy wedding episode...there better be a good one..." From your mouth to the TN gods' ears. We haven't seen one of those in quite some time (sigh).
Turco kidnapping Gloria way out in left field. I see a rapid decline in the possibility that Turco might be redeemed.
It has really surprised me that it is Isabel who is leading the investigation on Ivan's murder...and FINALLY there is progress on the investigation. If that was a young Ivan in the photo, they'd better give us the back story about her feelings for him.
AMOR ETERNO
AnonFri, you done it again...knocked it out of the park; thank you!
"I refuse to believe he's unaware that Zera set him up with the signature. I can't believe that he's so blind, unless he's setting her up." I can't believe it either. He's just too smart of a guy to be taken so easily. I know "love is blind" but this goes beyond that..especially since she brushed him off quite briskly.
I have no idea what to think of Tariq anymore. He may be wanting to be faithful to his brother, but Emir has too much on him and can pull his strings at any time. How far will Tariq go?
My favorite scene was Kemal finding Nihan in the closet...and the one in the elevator. These two can really show some chemistry...when they smile at each other.
I would enjoy the scenes of Emir with Deniz so much more if I didn't hate him so much. That baby sure knows how to work the camera...wow, what a smile..and those eyes could melt any heart.
RINGO
Rgv Chick, super super title and entertaining recap.
I enjoyed this episode. Yay, everybody left Brenda’s reception to have a good time at Guachin’s! But, boohoo!, Guachin went through with marrying Luchis.
Ringo goes over to congratulate Alejo. Alejo thanks him and apologizes for not sending him an invitation, but Ringo understands.
Alejo, from here on out, it’s just you and Brenda cause Brenda will drive everyone away. Then, she'll have only you to rant at all the time. Cheerio.
How annoying were Gloria and Diego? “Ringo where were you? "Julia where were you?” How about answering, “None of your damn business!”
At Turco’s, Rosa’s phone rings but she left it on the table; and Carrizo sees that it’s Oso so he doesn’t want to answer it.
At last! Someone in a TN shows common sense and doesn’t answer another’s phone. (Plus, Carrizo must not be as dumb as he looks cause he doesn’t want trouble from Oso.)
Too bad Turco has gone nuts, but I’m still glad Gloria is finally out of the house.
AMOR ETERNO
Anon Fri you blew it out of the water
Girl.
Now, let's get ugly. When zeynep turns
On those crocodile tears she is so good at melting your heart. You just want to take her in your arms and take the pain away. And shes gotten good at
And it comes so Easy to her. She turns it on At a moment's notice. The girl is dead inside. Ok I'm done with her.
Tariq and zeynep got it All and it skipped kemal. He's not at all perfect, but he's not at all messed up like those two. Maybe she'll stop putting her children on a
This show is getting better and better
I don't like vildan not liking ayhan.
She's acting snobby again like she's better than anybody else. Hope puts her in her place. I like ayhan. I like
