I'll put up a few notes about tonight's episode later tonight.

100 días - el lunes - p. 1 de 2

Here are a few of the things that happened in tonight's episode.

Roger sets up his segment about Alex, beginning with Connie speaking about the steps involved in trans. Then Dani, Lucia, the trans leader from the group, Alex, Max, and Reme all speak about their experiences and feelings. Reme ends with "The only thing that hasn't changed is the love that I feel for my son." This has all been recorded and will be broadcast on TV.

Remedios comes to see Emiliano. She tells him about the school principal not letting Alex play football, and about Roger's interviewing everyone to publicize this. Emiliano is anoyed that they didn't interview him. Suddenly Lore appears at the bedroom door half-dressed. Reme is clearly not pleased. She leaves.

Jimena, Susi, Aurora, and Nico are sitting at the breakfast table. Susi asks Jimena, "How long are they going to stay in the house?" Aurora tries to be understanding and tells Susi she knows that she and Nico must seem like invaders. Susi makes it clear she's not eager for them to stay much longer. Suddenly, Luis arrives! Nico runs eagerly to greet him as "Papi!" Susi looks perplexed.

Reme complains to Connie that Emiliano won't give her more time. The minute she leaves, he goes back with Lore. Connie offers Reme more to drink, the cure-all they all repeatedly turn to. At the moment, Connie doesn't seem to need alcohol. She's thrilled with Roger and tells Reme she's serious about him [a sure sign that the mierda will soon hit the fan].

Lore tells Emiliano it's clear that he really wants Reme and Reme really wants him. And that's OK with Lore. She and Emiliano have had fun together, and they have no commitments.

Susi asks Jimena why Nico is calling Luis "Papi." It's explained to her that Luis is Papi for both Nico and Susi. Susi receives the news with a disgusted look on her face. Susi then wonders whether perhaps Jimena is not her mother. Jimena assures her that she is. Luis explains the situation to each child. Susi announces that she was born first and is the favorite. Luis says he loves both of them. Nico embraces Luis, Susi avoids him. Susi then says accusingly to Jimena and Aurora, "You both knew and you told us nothing."

Pablo talks with Fer. Fer is very worried about Isabel, even though Emiliano has said her chances of recovery are excellent because they caught the cancer at an early stage. Pablo assures Fer that he's here for him, whatever he needs. Fer asks Pablo why he's helping him. Pablo responds, "Te quiero."

Jimena and Aurora try to reassure their children. But Jimena is angry, and she tells Aurora to pack her things and leave. Meanwhile, Susi bosses Nico. "I'm older, you have to listen to me."

Everyone manages to see Roger Montero's video. Plutarco is happy but annoyed that Montero will benefit. Emiliano tells him it's not about Montero, it's about Alex. Jimena is shocked to find out that Ale is trans. I'm not sure what Ramiro says, but it's clear that he's coming around to accept Ale as Alex.

Plutarco talks to Connie about the future of their law practice. I'm not sure, but I think he says that if they want to continue as socios, they need to end the 100 days agreement. As they're talking, Jimena bursts into the office screaming, "How come Ale is trans? Why am I the last to know?"

Emiliano tells Reme that he saw the report, which he found strong and impressive. He then apologizes to Reme for having been with Lore.

At the start of class, Fernando tells the class that he's very proud of them, of how the young people will change the world. Benjamin says to Fernando, "You've got to be kidding."

100 días - el lunes - p. 2 de 2

Aurora calls Jimena to tell her that their kids have disappeared. Connie calls Martín to find out whether he knows anything about this. He doesn't. I think Jimena somehow finds that Susi and Nico have taken a taxi to an amusement park (el parque de diversiones).

The writers have apparently run out of dialogue. For the umpteenth time, Emiliano asks Reme what she wants, and she says she wants time. As they're talking, a couple comes up to Reme and says they saw her on TV. They have a child one grade behind Alex, and the program has made an impact. Emiliano leaves, telling the couple as he goes, "I'm the father."

José Miguel wants Pablo to come work for him. Pablo says no, quite emphatically. Then JM makes it clear that he's talking about Pablo becoming his business partner. Pablo is not so quick to reject this offer.

Gloria asks Plutarco why he's staying with Emiliano. Plutarco explains that he likes rooming with someone whom he can talk to. "How about me?" Gloria asks. "You could stay with me at my house." End of episode.

"ENEMIGO 2":

SpanProf: The siblings/rivals meet face-to-face. I'm intrigued to see how will Roxana escape from prison again ?

100 dias. Excellent recap, Juanita! And very good observation that the writers seem to be running out of dialogue. When is this thing going to end anyway? Roger actually did a very good thing with his interviews--explaining transgender, emphasizing Alex's support from family and friends and even turning Alex into a bit of a celebrity. Though if Emiliano had been interviewed I think it would have complicated things unnecessarily. I liked Isabel's subsequent slightly snarky confrontation of the principal and Marlene--those 2 had to back down a bit. Susi is definitely Jimena's daughter!

100 días

Thanks so much for the fine recap, Juanita. Yes, things are getting repetitive.

Where I work, if something a bit confidential is being discussed, we close our office doors. But...if we approach another employee's office, even if the door is open, we usually just walk away and come back later if that employee is speaking to someone else. Everyone bursts into Connie's office all the time.

Jimena went on to say that she is Connie's best friend and why didn't she know about the broadcast. Hah. She sort of backed away a bit. She's another attorney at the firm. Why would she know things about Alex anyway? Gah!

Pablo offered to care for Frida if Fernando needed to be with Isabel at the hospital. Fer turned him down but it didn't feel like it was about having seen JM without his shirt on at Pablo's house.

The character of Gloria is way too clingy and ready for a commitment.

Remedios actually broke up with Emiliano, again during a conversation at her workplace! I find it interesting how they're keeping us guessing about who Reme will end up with. I'm 99% sure Connie and Plutarco will reunite. But, in the beginning, the contrast between Emi and Max was stark. Max was unkempt, did not work and seemed like a total loser. He's gotten more and more likely as the person she'd end up with, being so supportive. And Emi is not so fabulous as he was in the beginning.

Susi started out being a nice little girl. And, as SpanProf said, she's more and more like her mother. [This is mean, I know, but Isabella Sierra was not quite so plump in La Reina del Sur 2.]

100 días

Muchas gracias, SpanProf and novelera, for your excellent comments and additions. You raise a great point, SpanProf, about how interviewing Emiliano would have created lots of complications and confusion on the part of the TV viewers. And yes, Susi is most definitely Jimena's daughter, alas. She's not the very smart and adorable girl many of us fell in love with in La Reina del Sur 2.

Except for total creeps like Marlene and Benjamin, Jimena is for me the most irritating character in the novela. Her voice, her manner, and her total lack of propriety drive me up a wall. What I don't understand is how/why she was hired in Connie's/Plutarco's law firm and why Connie puts up with her, admittedly with reservations, as a "friend."

And yes, given Jimena, it's perhaps not surprising that Susi turns out to be loud and bossy. I too noticed that she has put on quite a bit of weight since LRDS2. The tween and teen years often are times when kids, especially girls, have weight problems. My guess is that in her case, the excess weight won't last.

It was only when I read your comments, novelera, that I realized I'd failed to mention that Reme breaks up with Emiliano again in this episode. I had it in my notes, but....

I agree that Emiliano isn't looking as appealing as he did at the start. I fear that Reme will in fact return to shlumpy Max in the end. Then again, Alex must be about 18, a common age for kids to go off to college. So having a father at home isn't quite as important as it was when he was younger. Reme could decide she wants neither Emiliano nor Max. But I doubt the novela will end that way.

100 días

I'll put up a recap tonight.

100 días – martes

Plutarco tries to evade super clingy Gloria’s request that he move in with her.

Pablo tells Remedios about José Manuel’s offer to make him an owner in the diner. [I was confused the whole episode about whether JM is selling the whole business or offering a part ownership; at the end I decided it was the latter.] Pablo tells Reme she’s included in his part of the partnership. He says it’s obvious he’ll get the money from his parents.

But they refuse when they hear it’s a business with José Manuel. Apparently his parents share Viewerville’s opinion of the guy.

Hector shows up at the diner. He mentions her relationship with el doctorcito to Reme and is told it’s over. [I’ve been noticing this doctorcito business in telenovelas for years. It appears that when someone uses the diminutive that way, it’s meant to disparage the person in question.]

Reme tells Hector about the possibility of being a partner in the diner, and Hector offers to lend her the money. She refuses over and over but eventually agrees she’ll repay with interest. But then he plants a kiss on her. Game over.

Emiliano confides in his nurse that he’s conflicted. One minute he’s sure he wants to be with Remedios and the next he’s thinking about other women. [This does not bode well for the two of them.]

Plutarco is at the office at night and on the phone with Tere, who’s presumably at home. He’s looking for a document concerning the Quintero divorce. He finds it on Connie’s desk, notices she didn’t sign something, calls her and insists it has to be signed that evening. It has to be presented in court first thing in the morning.

Connie was at an awards dinner with Roger. They come to the law office together. Connie signs the document and goes to the bathroom. Roger takes cell phone pictures of the Quintana document Connie just signed.

Aurora and Jimena are calling off their plan to live together with Luis. They talk about how they plan to fleece him, but good. Just then Luis shows up with the spiritual leader/scam artist. Jimena starts yelling about the guy’s plan to offer “family therapy”. She yells pretty close to the guy’s ear, and he winces (as do we all).

Hector shows up with flowers to apologize to Remedios. She won’t accept them and again says she won’t accept his offer of a loan. Max gets his back up after seeing Hector show up with flowers.

We get a pretty ridiculous scene around a table with the guru, Jimena, Aurora, Luis and the kids. Each child says they did not get enough time with their father. Susi gripes about her mother throwing away the mothers’ day gifts she gave. The guru keeps eating the whole time this is going on. And he pulls out his phone to google some therapy hints. Jimena explodes. The guy gets up and asks if this will be cash or credit card.

At the law office Tere calls Plu and Connie’s attention to Roger on the television. He’s revealing that Armando Quintero owns property that is used by ICE to imprison migrant children. Plu is irate and suspects he got the information from Connie. Connie says she didn’t know about those properties and also that she came alone last evening. Plu wants the security camera videos. Roger isn’t returning Connie’s calls.

Fernando isn’t happy about Pablo being in business with José Manuel.

Emiliano comes to the diner to offer HIS help to Remedios. [How did he know about the partnership offer?] She refuses him also, and rather angrily.

Marta comes to Fer and asks him to prepare a report about Alex, whom she calls Alejandra.

Luis gives Nico some expensive gifts.

Ramiro tells Max he needs to ponerse las pilas (get his act together) if he wants to stand a chance with Remedios. Later Max shows up at the diner, JM apparently having offered him a job.

100 dias. Excellent recap, novelera! Oh oh! Surely there was another way Roger could have gotten the goods on Quintero. I suspect it's a sign that he really doesn't care as much about Constanza as she cares for him. And what is Marta really up to?

"ENEMIGO 2":

HALIMACANDY: Good to see you back! I take it you're not impressed ?

100 días

Terrific recap, novelera. Thanks VERY much. I'm embarrassed to admit how many things it explained to me that went by too quickly for me to understand. One of those things was Susi's claiming that Jimena threw away the mother's day gifts she gave her. Did she really say that? Did Jimena really do that??

Apparently Connie hasn't watched enough telenovelas to recognize how their plots work. As soon as she told Roger that she wanted to be part of his life, I was sure that things weren't going to work out. Even before he responded very hesitantly. And before he secretly took photos of the divorce document on Connie's desk.

Perhaps for a different reason, I was surprised and uneasy when Reme started telling people that she probably going to be an owner of the cafe. Pablo hadn't even accepted the offer yet (though it looked as if he would), nor had José Miguel offered her the possibility of being a co-owner. Yes, she's excited, but it seemed a bit premature and unwise to start telling people. And when she turned down Hector's offer of financial help, I wondered where she thought she would get the $. I think she finally agreed to accept Hector's loan not because she began to realize she didn't have anything like the amount she'd probably need, but because he kept nagging her to accept. Which I would have thought would be a good reason to continue NOT accepting.

Oh well, I don't know why I'm surprised when telenovela characters don't act the way I think they should. :-)

As for Luis's "therapist," Luis's believing in this absurd quack makes me wonder how he ever got to be friends with Plutarco. IIRC, someone last night greeted the "therapist" as Señor Charlatán.

Ah, last night's episode ends with the ever subtle and reassuring Jimena saying to Connie in her office, "Imagine what happens when Plutarco finds out you came here with Roger." [Gee, thanks Jimena, I'm sure that made the already upset Connie feel much better.]

enemigo2

Halimacandy and Steve, I am not watching Enemigo Íntimo even though I think Fernanda Castillo is a very good actor. I did not watch the first season, other than the first episode, so did not see a reason to watch the second. Also, I usually only watch one novela. And this time, for me, it has been 100 Días para Enamorarnos.

Halimacandy, you hit the nail on the head about 10 PM being the blood and guts hour on Telemundo. I did watch Operación Pacífico that was on at that time and enjoyed it. The cast was great. But...as seems to happen on a regular basis for me, a novela that I like gets cut short. They re-ran La Reina del Sur 2 instead of showing all of something I liked. But...it could have been that coronavirus caused them to stop recording.

100 días

Juanita, yep, in the "therapy session" Susi, who is a bit of a drama queen herself, got into the dynamic by accusing both her parents. She accused her father of spending very little quality time with her and her mother of throwing her gifts into the garbage. Jimena sputtered a bit about that. Her excuse seemed to be that the décor of her house is so special that putting up childish, perhaps handmade, gifts would clash with her perfect house - the one that goes with her perfect husband.

100 días

I will put up something about tonight's episode later tonight.

100 días - el miércoles - p. 1 de 2

Max has gotten a job at the cafe. Reme tells him that she doesn't want him to become jealous. Lots of people come to cafe for her chili fries, and most of them are men. Max tells her that music makes him happy, but what makes him most happy is making her happy.

Pilar has made a special effort to look attractive today. One of her co-workers comments, "It's for Emiliano, right?" Then Emiliano rushes in, asks Pilar to cancel all his appointments today, and rushes out again. Oh well...

Marta comes by as Fernando and Isabel are talking. Marta says she's happy to see them together, as they should be. She then asks Fer whether he has the report on Alexandra. He reminds her that it's Alex, and he'll have the report for her soon. She leaves. Both Isabel and Fernando are puzzled about why Marta wants the report.

Roger tries to convince Connie that what he did was justified because Armando Quintero is corrupt. Connie doesn't care. She's deeply hurt that he took advantage of her. She tells him not to touch her, and not to look for her.

Alex tries out for the football team. Lucia, Dani, and Mariana are in the stands. Suddenly Emiliano arrives and joins them. Benjamin and his friends are on the field watching contemptuously. Alex kicks the football through the goal posts. He goes to confer with the coach. Then Benjamin tells the coach, "If the freak is on the team, I'm leaving" and throws his helmet on the ground. Alex comes to the stands and lets everyone know that he's made the team.

Max tells Benito about his music. Benito asks him to play something. Max happens to have his guitar with him and plays a song he wrote many years ago. Reme joins in, singing harmony. It seems to go over well.

Plutarco looks at the security camera film. He sees Connie come in with Roger, he sees them kiss, and he sees Roger take photos of the divorce documents when Connie briefly steps out of the office. We then see Plutarco come to Gloria's house and tell her that he has accepted her offer for him to come and live with her.

There's some crazy scene of Reme coming into Connie's bedroom in the morning bringing breakfast. She's followed soon afterward by Jimena, Vicki, and Mónica, all very solicitous of Connie. Connie tells them she needs space, and they all leave. The point of this scene was lost on me.

Plutarco wakes up to find a large dog in bed with him and Gloria. Gloria kisses the dog and calls for Juana, which she describes as the larger dog. Plutarco finds a large dog bone near his pillow. I think Gloria calls her mother and reports that "he and the dogs get along fine."

Emiliano comes to see Ramiro. He wants to help Reme and Alex financially, but Reme brushed him off (mandó por un tubo). So Emiliano tells Ramiro that he'd like to give the money to Ramiro and have Ramiro seem to be the one making the offer. Ramiro thanks him but says the family doesn't need charity (limosna). Emiliano explains that it's not charity, it's his responsibility for Alex.

Connie and Roger talk about an article in the newspaper. I thought that perhaps it had been a retraction of what was said the day before, but the word used was redacto, which doesn't mean retraction as far as I could determine. At any rate, Connie again tells Roger, "don't come near me, don't send flowers, don't come to my office, don't look for me--we're done."

100 días - el miércoles - p. 2 de 2

Ramiro comes to the cafe. He tells Reme that he heard about her becoming a dueña from Ale. He gives her a check. Reme thanks him but says she can't accept it. He says he had been unable to help her pay for the university, but now he wants to help her. He took out a loan on his workshop's mortgage. He wants her to be happy.

Connie talks to Angélica Quintero on the phone. She says that their office had nothing to do with what was reported on TV. Somehow, Angélica is happy and all is well. I'm not sure how the law firm managed not to be in hot water. It's also not clear that Plutarco ever spoke with Connie about what the security cameras showed. If he didn't, why not?

Alex tells Max and Reme that he made the team. He hears about the check and says, "Oh, so Emiliano gave the money." Reme corrects him: it wasn't Emiliano, it was Ramiro. But I'm not going to accept it.

Reme then calls the bank and speaks to Meche, someone at the bank whom she knows. She asks about the loan against the mortgage. I think Meche tells her that Ramiro hasn't had a mortgage for two years. She then goes to see her father again. She tells him she spoke to Meche, and then she asks him who gave him the money. It was Emiliano, right? I am not going to accept it.

Aurora opens the door and finds three Asian women there. I think she had ordered a massage like the one the women are accustomed to giving Jimena. They give her the massage; one woman massages her back, another her legs, and the third? I have no idea. As they massage, they talk about how wonderful Jimena and her daughter are, and how lucky they are to have Luis. He gives Jimena clothes, trips, and other gifts. Needless to say, Aurora is not at all happy to hear this.

Plutarco comes to see Connie at home. He tells her that they can't continue on like this. It's not good for them personally nor for their law firm. Connie asks what he suggests. I think he may suggest "therapy." He then gets up, goes to the door, and in walks Luis' "therapist"!! (OMG. Earlier today I posted a comment on this very page in which I said "Luis's believing in this absurd quack makes me wonder how he ever got to be friends with Plutarco." Duh...)

"ENEMIGO 2":

Novelera: I see Iran Castillo is one the cast, let's see how her character develops going forward.

100 dias. Excellent recap, Juanita! You pointed up a few flaws in the writing that bothered me too. I do suspect the writers are leading us to a reuniting of Max and Reme, but who knows? Reme: Take Emiliano's money, for heavens sake! He owes you 18 years of back child support. Yes, once again, what is obviously socially conservative Marta up to? And need I mention it since we've all seen it many times? Benjamin is such a spoiled brat! It would serve him right if the team goes on to win a regional or state championship without him. And it looks as if Reme will be managing a diner that not only has tasty and innovative new dishes but cute musical entertainment. Bound to be a great success! I was curious about Roger's newspaper article too. The only way he could defuse things truthfully would be to confess to theft of confidential information.

100 días

Thanks so much, Juanita. Yes, Reme constantly refusing all help to invest in the diner is kind of over the top.

I don't know what Marta is up to re having a "report" on Alex. But they showed a scene with her being thick as thieves with the odious Marlene. That's another plot point they just seem to have forgotten about. These writers seem to have ADHD. Lucía was supposed to be taken out of this high school by Marlene because of her relationship with Alex. But Lucía is still enrolled.

The woman Reme called at the bank said she hadn't seen Ramiro in two years.

The silly massage scene was because Aurora was complaining about boredom while on the phone with Jimena. By the way Jimena has a great deal with Aurora; she'd cleaned the entire house, including washing all the windows. Jimena said she had "coupons" for a massage and had Aurora arrange one. They keep emphasizing classism on this show in that the leader of the three women started out doubting a person like Aurora would get their treatment.

I'm not sure I'm totally right about this, but I believe it was stated that Jimena had her bikini wax "groomed" into the shape of a letter "L". Also Aurora kept hearing these women go on and on about what a great husband Luis was (to Jimena), romantic, buying her things.

100 días

Thanks VERY much, SpanProf and novelera, for your insightful and helpful comments. Good point, SpanProf, about the 18 years of child support Emiliano didn't have to pay. And I too would love to see Alex's team win a championship without Benjamin having any part in it.

novelera, as you can see, a lot goes right by me without my understanding what's being said. Sometimes, it doesn't seem all that important, and so I just don't bother mentioning it. And sometimes, I mention what I think was said and am delighted when I find out what in fact really WAS said. Like what Meche said to Reme. And the bit about Jimena's bikini wax being groomed into the shape of an L for wonderful Luis. Oh well, at least I did include their saying what a wonderful husband Luis is, always buying things for Jimena, and the look of surprise/annoyance/anger on Aurora's face as she hears about this.

One thing that amused me and that I meant to mention was that after Plutarco comes to the office after spending the night with Gloria, Tere sniffs him and tells him his suit smells like a dog, or something to that effect. (He'd better be careful walking down the street. Some dog might catch the scent and mistake Plutarco's leg for a tree.)
