DAYTIME TNs…y Mas!: Week of July 6, 2020

Good Day, Caraymates!

Welcome to Daytime TNs! This page is being provided to give those who are watching daytime TNs on any channel a place to discuss any of the TNs aired prior to 6PM.  If you would like to contribute a recap or just some highlights for a daytime TN, I’m sure there are those who watch the same TNs that would appreciate it.

This page can also be used as a forum to keep in touch, discuss strolls down the Caray! Caray! memory lane, or anything else that is of interest to the patio.

Please remember that ANY daytime novela can be discussed and everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Friendly reminder to PLEASE put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for. (You can shorten the title to one word, i.e., “Vecina”; “Amores”)

"Daytime TNs" will be posted on Mondays only. There will be a different page posted on Thursdays with a variety of topics for week-end discussion.

LQNPA

If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with?

I have been trying to decide who is the dumbest of the dumb: Cupcake, Rogelio, Vanesa, Gustavo, Cynthia, Efraín?

I finally decided that the winner was: Me! for watching this nonsense. (Not that I plan to stop :)

Andy

Evil though they may be, Bruno, Rosaura and Rutilio are just as dumb, dontcha think? Can't stop watching either and this is my second go around. Can't stop watching the many faces of Rogelio.

LQNPA

Anita, I think just about everybody in this TN is dumb, with the possible exception of Dany.

I'm also a bit disappointed with some of the acting. Ana Martín as María especially. After seeing her as Angustias in Sin tu mirada I expected more.

Jorge Salinas as Rogelio is doing a great job however. But that's not really good since Rogelio is really a bit of an odious character, and so 18th Century. How he thinks he can, and then does, actually whip the employees and others is beyond me. And seriously threaten to kill people who he doesn't like. Sheesh!
Did they really have helicopters in the 18th Century?

La Vecina

Rgv Chickie, hmmm... After reading your comment that "you would have really enjoyed seeing Esmeralda Pimentel in her little outfit this week (wink, wink)" I took a look at one recorded episode of La Vecina at 16x FFWD and... no cute little outfit.
Rats! Maybe it was on another day. I hope to eventually get to see this TN, but not now, for now I'm just recording it. I honestly struggle to watch two hours of LQNPA, even though I'm hooked and addicted, but sitting through that much television is difficult even with the help of Sr. FFWD for the commercials.

Not exactly "little outfits", but the ladies of LQNPA do wear some real fun clothes, especially Ana Paula and Vanesa (who can really make a tight dress come to life :)

Andy

Those dresses of Vanesa are alive. It's Vane who's dead.

LA VECINA

I caught part of episode #80, maybe it was last week? The mariachi band was outside our heroina's apartment serenading, and her neighbor threw a bucket of water down onto them, shorted out the amp, and flames shot out of said amplifier. I actually laughed out loud at that one. It reminded me of the time in either MEPS or STuD when the heroina took a shotgun to the mariachi band that was serenading her down below. LOL

OT

On the "how on earth did that happen?" front, all of a sudden I can now record shows again on UniMas channel and get the show -- not a test screen pattern. Maybe Comcast fixed whatever was wrong at their end. Whatever. Yay!

Doris, OT
Glad to have you back sans test screen pattern on Unimas!!

VECINA

Doris, so glad you are able to watch. I am really enjoying the comedy in this TN. It was episode 75 where Sara dressed up as a hoochie in an attempt to help Sebas convince Titina’s bros that he was not the right man for her. Antonio asked her to pretend to be his date and they showed up at the bar where Sebas was meeting the bros for drinks. Antonio and Sara then talked about all the “wild” things Sebas had done. Things went south after Sebas went to the restroom. Sara went a bit too far and mentioned how Sebas was having a fling with some girl that referred to him as “Chevis.” The bros then went after Sebas who escaped through the bathroom
window but only after the bros ripped off his pants when they were trying to pull him back. Wish you had seen this...I cracked up during this scene.

As Lucio indicated in the previous page, the “odd couples” are really making this fun to watch.

OT

Google doesn't love me anymore!

I had to make multiple, various, unsuccessful attempts to sign in from a different computer, it just wouldn't believe me even when I gave them my alternate email account although it's a paid account I've had for over 20 years, etc., etc., etc., told them I was truly who I said I was, cross my heart and hope to die...

Nothing worked.

As Nero Wolfe would say, "Pfui!" (at least that's what I think he would say and how he would spell it. I last read a Rex Stout "Nero Wolfe" book about the same time I opened that other email account.)

I eventually found an install that Google recognized on this computer.

Moral of the story: don't get locked out of your account if you use more than one computer, and always have your Captain Midnight's Secret Squadron Decoder Badge handy.

La Vecina

What I started to say, half an hour ago, on another computer, was that I am recording La Vecina to watch after LQNPA ends, but I got to see an episode this past week.

It was fun, no difficulty figuring out who was who, good guys and bad, etc. I did get to see cutie Edwina, and I hope to see a lot more of her whenever.
I was also surprised at just how many actors I recognized from other TNs. The casting call must have been like a great reunion of unemployed TN actors and the producer just said "OK, whatever, let's hire them all, we'll find roles for them somehow."

:-)

Andy--
So sorry for your troubles. Your comment has now been posted for posterity. Keep on Keeping on Watchin'.
