DAYTIME TNs…y Mas!: Week of Aug. 10, 2020

Good Day, Caraymates! Sorry for being late with this!

Welcome to Daytime TNs! This page is being provided to give those who are watching daytime TNs on any channel a place to discuss any of the TNs aired prior to 6PM.  If you would like to contribute a recap or just some highlights for a daytime TNI’m sure there are those who watch the same TNs that would appreciate it.

This page can also be used as a forum to keep in touch, discuss strolls down the Caray! Caray! memory lane, or anything else that is of interest to the patio.

Please remember that ANY daytime novela can be discussed and everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Friendly reminder to PLEASE put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for. (You can shorten the title to one word, i.e., “Vecina”; “Amores”)

"Daytime TNs" will be posted on Mondays only. There will be a different page posted on Thursdays with a variety of topics for week-end discussion.

Cinthia is completely loca, but so is everyone else at Hacienda de los Locos. I can't believe that Gustavo actually gave that poor baby back to Cynthia to hold.

Now poor Maria knows the whole sad story.

I'm depressed by the way things are going right now, but kudos to Susana González for her portrayal. Cynthia scares me.

I can only comment on yesterdays’s capítulo since the power has been out since 4pm yesterday. : (

Andy, “Hacienda de locos” should be the name of that place. Nobody is 100% A-okay. I feel sorry for the kid because at his age he should at least have a chance; but it looks like he is doomed. As a matter of fact, my favorite scene yesterday was the kid asking Auntie Klepto about the tag still on her purse.

Jarifa, I'm sorry your power is out, but maybe it's just as well. Read the recap and be spared the misery. Nothing much is going right for anybody, and it's all very depressing. Ulises and Macaria are on again, off again; same for sweetie Consuelo and squinty Hugo. Mercedes and Ernesto not so bad, but not great. Poor Maria goes from bad to worse, and she's learning just how bad/crazy her daughter really is.

I could go on, but I'm depressed almost to the point of being suicidal as it is, so I'll stop here. (I can just imagine, "So, what pushed him to kill himself?", "Oh, some Mexican TV show! Go figure!")

About now I need a big blowout wedding, or a fun "wardrobe malfunction" (or both!).

:-)

Andy--You haven't been watching carefully enough. Ana Paula has a wardrobe malfunction almost every day with those open below her chest blouses.

You have a couple more bodas to witness, so don't end it all yet.

Haven't watched today's episode yet. But yes, this is all too crazy. Tia MentiRosa was right for once (as is a stopped clock twice a day) when she told Maria she confessed thinking it would make Cin love her and that will never happen.

Andy, the power returned last night but only after I had to throw everything out from the refrig and freezer. It had come on earlier and I thought everything was saved but after being on 10 minutes but it was a tease and it went out again and stayed out another 5 hours; I guess just to make sure I couldn’t salvage anything. Thanks for the laughs!

Anota, yep, auntie was right about María never being able to do enough to make Cinthia love her. Maria’s character is just pathetic and sad. The others are much more entertaining.

I saw today’s episode and it seems I didn’t miss much. “Doña Rosaura” ? Really? I would so enjoy an unpleasant ending for auntie. Rogelio did well telling Gus the truth about what snaky Cinthia did. Can’t wait for tomorrow. I will have to catch yesterday’s episode OnDemand when I have time.

Jarifa, I'm glad your power is back on, it really is too bad it didn't come back sooner.

Darkest before the dawn? Just about everybody in this TN is now miserable, and there may be more bad news to come. I had completely forgotten about Mercedes' role in keeping idiot brother and Cupcake apart at the hospital.

Lots of depressing stuff and I used FFWD quite a lot today. Meh.

:-(

Anita, they better be really nice weddings.

Andy, at least the refrig finally got cleaned. : )

A few observations:
Cupcake give Cinthia a good beat down. I wonder if she was a bad girl in secundaria.
Cinthia does have one talent besides lying and scheming: hitting unsuspecting men in the head.
Susana González played Cinthia to crazy perfection when she was handcuffed to her hospital bed.

I always love a good wedding In the end and it better be a fancy church wedding, not any of that just signing a register in front of guests in a garden somewhere.

It's a small thing but it has been bothering me for some time. Remember way back when, when Rogelio pumped Miguel for info on Cupcake's favorite things, etc., all the better to woo her? One of her favorites was white roses and Rogelio later gave her a very pretty bouquet of white roses.
(Actually that scene made me laugh because Cupcake acknowledged that he had done his homework to learn her favorites, but then she tossed aside the roses as if they were a few half-eaten apples.)

Anyway, there have been more roses along the way, including recently, but they are always red roses. What happened to sweeping her off her feet with white roses? He doesn't have to bother anymore? Though maybe white roses are better for weddings anyway.

Jarifa, I agree that Susana González has "crazy" down pat. In fact she is now crazy all over the place.

And, yeah, they better be great blowout weddings with gorgeous brides and gorgeous gowns and gorgeous bridesmaids and good-looking, dolled up women everywhere. And at that, it will be small recompense for what we have been suffering through lately. And probably will continue to suffer through until the last day, or the last two days if the producers decide to show us a little compassion. (But more likely weddings and HEAs only in the last hour! )

Andy, I had forgotten all about the white roses. Good point. Also, you made another good one about the wedding payoff being shorter rather than longer. Bummer.

Things seemed to come to a head in Wednesday's epi. (I haven't watched all of Thus. yet.)

So what will be invented now to stretch the story out. We're tired of beef on the hoof and milk and half a house; tired of Bruno the three-faced Janus (if there were one, he'd be a dead ringer). I'm thoroughly enjoying Tia MentiRosa the second time around. She's the best schemer around, better than Bruno. He's juggling women, she's juggling $$$.

Maria's delivery of her lines in the jail is shut-eye-worthy.

Cinthia, on the other hand, is chewing up the scenery every time she appears. I hated her in the first run, couldn't stomach her, thought she was overacting. This time I'm really amazed at her deft interpretation of this woman, ruined by all the men in her life, starting with Papa Montero. Even Gus doesn't get a pass. If he really wanted to help her, he should have stood his ground and made sure she got treatment. He abdicated his responsibility. As did Guzman with Nikki in AV (at least for awhile). I wonder if Art will follow up on Cecelia now that he has the name of a psychiatrist.

LQNPA

Anita, good call on auntie “juggling $$$$.” Auntie is a conniver and survivor. There is a certain art to what she does rolling with the punches and always looking for and usually finding an angle that fits her purposes.

I am done with Fri.’s episodes:
Loved María asking a reluctant auntie for her keys and apron. She finally got the keys but not the apron.
Cinthia looked so much like a trapped animal cuffed to that hospital bed, I am surprised she didn’t chew through her own arm.

I have a good idea what the next big problem is going to be but my lips are sealed. . .

LQNPA

We're getting close now, everything is wrapping up or coming to a head, and we even had a short "después". Bruno is being audited, Rogelio and Cupcake win back the Singapore deal, Rogelio looks kinda shamefaced whenever anybody mentions how he helped Miguel get out of jail. (Shoe, get ready to drop.)

I especially like the lovely Vanesa's situation. Cupcake has a court order for a DNA test and now Vanesa might have to give Cupcake half of all she has. Oh, the horror!
But wait! Bruno has a great idea! Sell everything to him first for a piddling sum, and wind up with next to nothing to split with Cupcake. After that's done Bruno will give her back everything. What could possibly go wrong?   :-)   :-)

Despite all my carping I have loved this TN. But I am ready now for a respite and a wedding or two, and that oh-so-welcome "fin" !

A few things I forgot:

Cinthia has found a way to somewhat escape her predicament. Much like watching a TN.

Anita, you mentioned earlier how impressive that "little" clinic is. More like a hospital, with bewildered doctors always in the background wandering around as if they can't remember where their patients are.

I'm still interested in Macaria and Ulises, not least because their story is not burning up hours and hours, just a few minutes a day.

Andy

LQNPA

Andy, “carping” is half the fun of watching these novelas.
