Hola, Peeps! Well, I’m starting to remember the Uniscissors and vegematic episodes; they can be challenging to summarize. I’ll try to put this together so that the storylines are more continuous. So come on in, grab your coffee or sweet tea. WARNING; we haven’t had a Sensitivity Alert for a while; we’ve got one tonight. Let’s see if I can put a few sutures in this piece and let’s have some fun!

Wolf Whistle! Pardon if that’s sexist but we get a shot of Arturo in nothing but baby blue boxers! Cecelia is hooking her bra and sound is coming out of her mouth. Oh. She doesn’t want to go to therapy, he convinces her to do so…for now. FF-->>

Diego almost gets busted, snatching and stuffing supplies! Lili startles the bejeezus out of him! Must be your conscience she chirps with more truth than she realizes. Oh, the ER bays needed some stuff. No problem, I’ll do that that’s my job! She takes his stash and leaves; Diego sighs heavily. Elsewhere this morning in the hospital, Daniel is about to take a break on a bunk in the call room. Tania brings him a coffee and candy bar. His respite is brief; he thanks her as he leaves the call room, telling her he would invite her for dinner if he had time. Tania has a “what a swell guy” smile.

Luis, our Cardiologist, is shadowed by Pamela this morning. They go to see a sweet, silver-haired gentleman, Don Hector Giron. Don Hector has end stage cardiac pathology: he’s got bad heart disease and is essentially receiving palliative care, care to make him comfortable in his final days. Luis and Pamela are professional, yet warm and attentive; Don Hector especially takes a shine to Pamela. Don Hector prefers to go home; he can’t afford the hospital bill. Luis promises they will help him and get Luz to see him. Luz takes his demographic and financial data and tells him she will see if they can adjust his hospital bill. Don Hector graciously thanks Luis and Pamela for helping an old man in his last days. “Don’t say that; you’re going to come out of this and seguir adelante!

Regina begins her day by meeting with her Lawyer, Joel, who gets right to the point. Sergio is contesting the financial demands in the divorce decree: he’s not giving her anything! Sergio reported Regina has a relationship with…Regina interrupts him. She DOES NOT have a relationship: A colleague and HER BOSS were helping her move! Sergio’s Lawyers offer 5,000 pesos if she drops her demands. Regina rejects it outright! Joel gets uncharacteristically angry at Regina’s refusal. He asks if she has any proof that she helped purchase the house. No, it was a cash transaction. That’s tough: it’ll be your words against his. What can she do? Well, how about go for a simple quickie divorce y ya! WHAT? He was the one who convinced her to fight for what she had coming to her, Regina insists. Regina asks if Sergio’s Lawyers offered him anything. There is a marked whiff of unauthenticity in Joel’s denial as he jolts a bit. NO! Regina says she’s just asking. They stand; if he can’t help her, she’ll find someone who is not afraid to do so. [OUCH!] She thanks Joel with a brief handshake and leaves.

Cinthia is back to work, still visibly de-energized. She thanks Daniel for covering for her. He was glad to do it; she never takes vacation. Cinthia says she doesn’t need vacation; she feels most comfortable in the hospital. She summarizes that things went bad at home; she does not want to go into details. She just wants to concentrate on her patients and finish her residency. Moments later she exits the elevator and encounters the perpetually jocular Rafa. She waves him off but he catches up with her in front of the hospital. Rafa finds her crying, asks her to calm down, “Ven aca,” and takes her in his arms; Cinthia cries, her head resting on his chest. [Ok, y’all will say, Lila, get a life, but there’s something about a man saying, “come here” before embracing you that….] She pulls away after a bit and thanks Rafa, wiping her tears. Cinthia says it’s hard to accept that there are some things that will never change. Rafa offers support; yes, such is life that we have to accept hard realities sometimes. She excuses herself to return to work. Having actually seen Cinthia’s pain, he looks concerned. Moments later Rafa and Daniel talk: Rafa doesn’t understand women! Echele ganas, like you told me! Daniel can’t believe The Expert on Women is stumped! Well, this one is different; she’s special, but he’ll figure it out. How’s it going with Daniel? “It’s going well; we get along and things are advancing,” he smiles. They agree to go get a coffee.

Cinthia tells Regina about her terrible, awful, no good trip “home” to Guadalajara. Like everyone else, Regina can’t seem to fathom the defenses and blinders her parents, especially her Father, have put up about who Cinthia is and what she wants from life. “My family is a constant problem; things don’t change; my Father will never change his way of being. Do me a favor; if I ever come to ask you for time off to go to Guadalajara, please tell me NO!” They conclude, we live and learn. How is Regina? “Look at my face,” Regina says gesturing in wide circles around her face. “Things with Sergio are bad and intruding on my work and David has an attitude that is really affecting my work!” Why don’t you talk to him? “You know how David is, when he has a personal issue it’s like talking to a wall!” Cinthia has a diagnosis that Regina accepts: “We need to have a couple of beers!”

Art instructs Diego on the importance of being very familiar with a patient’s clinical history; being a tertiary care center, they get complicated cases from all over the country. Ana bursts in and asks what Diego is doing there and shushes him rudely when Diego tries to answer. Art explains why Diego is there. She leaves without even looking at Diego. Diego asks what her deal is. Oh, she is “complicated.” One day he’ll have to work with someone he doesn’t see eye to eye with. “Like you and Dr. Paredes?” Uh, yeah. A patient comes in with a sore throat and cough. The segment serves as an anti-smoking PSA. Art prescribes a med but tells him the real solution is to quit smoking and also gives him a brochure.

MÉDICOS, #27, 8-20-20

Another Vitamin D PSA: The patient eats a balanced diet and exercises, but in the gym. Luis tells her the best source of vitamin D is the good old sun: fifteen to twenty minutes, two or three times per week. Vitamin D can help prevent problems like preeclampsia (a serious condition in pregnancy involving high blood pressure and organ damage in the mother), gestational diabetes and premature birth. He gives her a prescription, 2000 IUs for eight weeks and advises a follow up to check levels.

Ah, who are these pretty young things! Why, it’s Caro and her friend, Ximena, in Cuernavaca sunning and planning the night’s activities. Later, we see them at a bar. Ximena has had a few while Cara seems, literally, more sober. Ximena gets her boogie on with some rando that approaches their table. Cara is cooler with two others who descend upon her. Ximena seems ready to take the party elsewhere but Cara pretty much drags her away because it’s late and Ximena is more than tipsy!

Pam and Luis talk about Don Hector when they are joined by Gonzalo who has come down to the ER to see if they need any help; he’s bored in the office. Gonzalo eventually goes back to his office. Marta has his calendar and is making appointments. He declines some opportunity to schmooze on behalf of the Instituto but accepts on important conference that she says he can’t turn down. He asks for a coffee. Nope, she’ll bring him a tea: it’s better for inflammation! A bit later, Luz comes to see Gonzalo to get approval for a reduction of Don Hector’s bill. Of course Gonzalo approves it, but noting that Luz seems tense, he asks her if anything is bothering her. She denies it and then admits she is worried about Caro who is vacationing with friends in Cuernavaca, ALONE for the first time! Gonzalo tries to normalize this as a normal rite of passage, Caro is fine, trust her! Luz uneasily agrees with Gonzalo that her fears are exaggerated. [I think Luz would be proud of Caro in the bar scene we just witnessed!]

Other miscellanea in the hospital. Pam and Tania grab a bite in the cafeteria. Pam asks Tania if she’s noticed the distance and chill between David and Regina. Tania gushes about her spectacular night with (the unnamed) Rafa! Diego probes Daniel about who he likes and won’t let Daniel deny that it’s Tania. Daniel will only say she’s a friend; we get along and yes, she’s beautiful. Diego doesn’t buy it.

Sensitivity Alert. Somewhere across town, the clouds gather for a storm. Two dudes, Antonio and Ruben are eating lunch on a construction site, talking about women, viejas, as Ruben calls them. They’re all jealous. How about you, man, you seeing anybody? Uh oh. Antonio answers yes, his sister, Pricila. Rubin is NOT pleased. Turns out Antonio has been seeing Pricila a few months and tries to lighten the mood by telling Ruben he’s going to be an Uncle. It doesn’t work. They face off as the other workers gather and fuel the brawl with a UUUUUH! Antonio tries to tell Ruben he loves Pricila. Rubin ties into him for being a shameless jerk and a coward for not telling him before! What is Ruben going to do, it’s kinda late! Smack talk ensues, fists fly and after only a few blows both men fly off the open side of the building under construction and land with a sickening thud! The other workers look down in shock and horror!

MÉDICOS, #27, 8-20-20 END

It is the calm before the storm in the ER. Tania and Marco will shadow Regina. She instructs them: “You will do what I say, when I say it. For now, review the supplies and check the census (who is admitted, who is ready for discharge) and be familiar with the clinical histories.” They take off. Regina takes a chart and stands at a station where David is seated, looking at the computer. She casts a stealthy peek down at David from her chart. He glances up at her briefly, then closes the computer window, gets up and leaves the desk. ALL CONTROLLED HECK BREAKS OUT as the EMTs wheel Antonio and Ruben in on a gurney, impaled by a single steel rebar (reinforcement bar used in concrete reinforcement)! The EMT rattles off vitals while Antonio looks at Regina and pitifully asks, “Help us, please.” Regina takes charge, guiding the EMTs and assistants to a more substantial surgical room and calling to David to help.

Antonio and Ruben are grotesquely face to face on the gurney, freakishly joined by the rebar. Antonio asks why he doesn’t answer. Regina says he is unconscious. Please help him, he begs. David tells Antonio to be still but to tell him what happened. Antonio tearfully relates the story, which I won’t repeat but he repeatedly asks the Doctors to help Ruben. David and Regina do a quick side bar in which they acknowledge it will be a complicated surgery. He asks if she wants to take them both in at the same time. Regina thinks there’s no other way. She encourages Antonio to keep talking.

Art and Regina scrub up and discuss the extremely delicate surgery. The rebar has done tremendous damage; Antonio seems to be at less risk as he is conscious and talking; Ruben arrived and continues with very low vital signs. Art says the important thing is to contain the hemorrhaging as soon as possible. He asks what she wants him to do. She asks that he stay with Antonio while she and David will attend to Ruben. Art says perfecto. David comes in and reports that the surgical nurses and anesthesiologists are ready. Ready? David pointedly looks at Regina and says, “When you say so.” Gowned, capped and masked, they exchange a meaningful glance through their protective goggles. In the surgery a Nurse reports the vitals of both men; Antonio’s are better, Ruben’s are declining: he’s in big trouble. Regina directs that they will intervene first with Ruben. David speaks up that this will threaten Antonio’s life. No, she replies, Antonio is more stable. Precisely, David answers, he has the greater chance of surviving. Regina, with more urgency says they are going to save both! No, David thinks they must prioritize according to who has the greater chance so they can at least save one of them. “No, we are going to start with Ruben, he is the weakest and most in need of intervention.” Regina almost shouts that it is HER decision. David counters that she called him and that must be because she values his medical opinion and he disagrees! Art finally intervenes: “Please, Doctors! Regina is the one in charge and we’re going to do what she says!”

MEDICOS #27 (28)

Ben hecho, Lila.

We certainly had to expect to see accidents like this one. There was a novela villain who died this way about 20 years ago... Things like this make me realize I could never have been a doctor.

But at least this was a Marco-free episode.

I hope Caro doesn't end up doing anything stupid, but what's a novela witout a stupid teen?

Don Hector is played by Ignacio Lopez Tarzo who is 95 years young.

MEDICOS

Whew! Another tough one LILA. Nothing light-hearted going on at all. But loved your prologue:

"Hola, Peeps! Let’s see if I can put a few sutures in this piece and let’s have some fun!"

And these:

[Tania] "what a swell guy" smile

[OK y'all will say "Lila, get a life, but there's something about a man saying "come here" before embracing you that...] I agree. Rafa really seemed endearing in that scene. And Lordy, the man has nothing going for him physically. But in some strange way, the writers manage to make him appealing.

Regina's frustration with David..."like talking to a wall". Oh yeah, and his last names is PAREDes....a sly joke on the part of the writers? Well, okay.

The whole lawyer, divorce snafu seemed contrived to me. But I guess the writers had to engineer something to get Regina into the hands of Gonzalo's pal at the BIG law firm. So on we go.

Ana continues to be obnoxious and Daniel delusional. But so glad you didn't dwell on the Cecilia-Art scene (other than to note his fine bod') because I can't stand to look at her, much less listen to her. And hate to think how that harsh bleach must have damaged the actor's dark hair. The sacrifices actors make for their roles...Mercy!

Thanks LILA. A depressing episode, but an excellent recap.

MEDICOS

Outstanding Lila!

First, I must confess that I was riveted to the DNC last night and did not see this. And drat, “Arturo in nothing but baby blue boxers” caused a palpable ache of regret 😊

“marked whiff of unauthenticity”, “ perpetually jocular Rafa” and “some rando” all made me smile.

So Regina's lawyer has been bought?? It appears she may not have enough money to buy a companion chair for her existing one.

“[Ok, y’all will say, Lila, get a life, but there’s something about a man saying, “come here” before embracing you that….]”. No Lila, I am with you! That is life and a very sweet part of it.

“Cinthia has a diagnosis that Regina accepts: “We need to have a couple of beers!” I am enjoying the friendship between these two.

Very glad to have missed the accident which must have been ghastly. Now is not the time for bickering Regina and David. Sending positive vibrations both patients will be saved.

I might be wrong but perhaps Tania doesn't fully realize the extent of Daniel's feelings? Daniel is headed for a world of hurt.

And if Rafa truly cares for Cinthia, he will leave her alone. He continues his hound dog ways and far worse, his drug and alcohol abuse. He needs to get sober so he can take care of himself. Cinthia has her hands full and doesn't need a grown man to take care of too.

Couldn't care less about Caro or Cecelia.

Gonzalo does belong in the ER. Working, not administering.

Lila, delightful. Thank you so much.

Diana

MEDICOS

Judy, our comments crossed.

"But so glad you didn't dwell on the Cecilia-Art scene (other than to note his fine bod') because I can't stand to look at her, much less listen to her" echoed my feelings exactly!! Huge sigh.

Diana

Medicos Another first-rate recap, Lila! Thanks for explaining the rebar impalement. I wonder if that was a "ripped from the headlines" episode. I'm thinking it might not be a wise move for Regina to fire her lawyer and that she might end up with one that really is crooked. But you could be right and the reverse is true. In either event, more drama! Even though Caro behaved responsibly in that bar, I do worry that 1 of the randos might try to follow her and her friend back to where they are staying.

MEDICOS #27(28)

i want Victoria Escalante of Vega to handle Regina's divorce. She'll know how to make that patan Sergio pay.

Cecelia is a leech in bleach. I don't know how it became fashionable to have dark roots, but it looks cheap and disgusting.

I'm waiting to see who gets caught first: Rafael or Diego.

MÉDICOS, #27, 8-20-20

Thank you, Urban! I felt the need to warn folk. I alctually yelped out loud when I saw the wound. The makeup department is on point! It was a challenge o pull this together: it was all over the place. And Ignacio Lopez Tarzo, 95! Cheers to him! Still doing fine work at 95! Thanks, Urban!

Hey, JudyB! Thank you so much! Yah! This was not a warm and fuzzy episode either! Maybe that I sooned so much over the Rafa and Cinthia scene! I'm ready to try a little tenderness!

Regina's frustration with David..."like talking to a wall". Oh yeah, and his last names is PAREDes....a sly joke on the part of the writers?

HA! I missed that! That is cute!!

ITA, once Gonzalo mentioned his Big Guns Lawyer, we knew it would happen. A new layer of drama! Seemed like Joel might have been bought out though. Anywho.

Agree, lets hope we get something softer, but we're not done with the gruesome injury yet, so... Thanks!

Diana! Hey, Girl! As I just told Judy, they starving us here for tele-affection, so I get it where I can find it! Rafa was sweet in that scene and Cinthia needed it after that prickly visit with her parents! But, you nailed it here:

And if Rafa truly cares for Cinthia, he will leave her alone. He continues his hound dog ways and far worse, his drug and alcohol abuse. He needs to get sober so he can take care of himself. Cinthia has her hands full and doesn't need a grown man to take care of too.

Oh, Diana. These people are too good with their make-up! ACK!

I might be wrong but perhaps Tania doesn't fully realize the extent of Daniel's feelings? Daniel is headed for a world of hurt.

I agree, Diana. She may just be a platonic touch-feely kind of gal but Pamela seems to think Tania is playing him because of that early experience with him doing Tania's work. But, either way, he is still in for a world of hurt! Thank you!

I see you, SpanProf, and Urban second comment. Be back later!

Medicos

Dear Lila, thank you for providing us with all the details as our story spins and you spin straw into gold. I love your upbeat lilacaps which are a bright spot in my day after I watch a few minutes of the news .

The baddies keep being bad while the good folks try to do as much good as they can ......so like real life. Bless all those who keep trying to be good . As Mr. Rogers advised , " Look for the helpers. " It is easy to dwell on the bad , but so many people around us show the goodness in the world.

Médico

Lila, super recap. I had to look away at times, so thanks for all the deets. Love your opener:
Let’s see if I can put a few sutures in this piece and let’s have some fun!

Art was the star of this episode to me. Wearing his baby blue boxers well and still patient with Miss Roots. He's cute and relaxing, while David is wound way too tight.

I hadn't realized that Rafa figured Daniel's crush is Tania. Makes it worse that Rafa would bed Tania. Did Tania not notice the morning after that Rafa just wanted to leave? No kiss, no snuggle, nada.

Looking forward to the Vega firm taking over Regina's divorce.

Diana, great to have you back!

Médicos

Isn’t it obvious Tania is using Daniel? When he invited her over to his parent’s food place, she politely but knowingly smiled at him and walked off. She uses her attractiveness to try and get benefits. She tried pulling the stunt on Rafa to get special treatment and he wasn’t buying it.

medicoa #28 (29)

It is very obvious... to us and to Pamela and Diego. No other character sees this so far and Daniel is too naive about women to figure this out. Tania is exactly the sort of woman who gets on my last nerve.

MEDICOS

SpanProf! Thank you! Two days in a row of downer episodes. That's life, I guess. SpanProf! That's a scary possibility with Caro. I don't know how old she is, but I don't think Luz's worry was exaggerated. Caro promised to be available to them and now her Mom can't get her on the phone. Guess I'm old school. Wonder how old Caro is supposed to be?

Cecelia is a leech in bleach. I call side bar! HA!

Urban, Let me see. I say Rafael. As others have said, his drugging is bound to leave him impaired one day when he's needed. Buuut, on the other hand. Diego is getting cocky and careless!

Susanlynn! Hey, good to see you! I'm trying, Girl, I'm trying! I guess I have to accept theat Uni is going to cut, but let them cut out Cecelia, or Rafa flirting for the umpteenth time. The current icy distance between Regina and David would make more sense if we had seen they'd make baby steps towards a more personal relationship. Oh, well. I can't wait to see what happens to this stupidly dueling duo, fighting way up high at an unenclosed building site! Sheesh! Who will they try to save first? Yes, look for the helpers. We need two of our helpers to make love, not war!

Niecie! Yep, Niecie, that impalement is super scary/creepy/gross!

Agree with you about Art. He was fine in his boxers and is a voice of reason THIS time. Last time we know it was him and David arguing.

And now, on Rafa. I hope it wasn't something I said that made you think Rafa knows Daniel likes Tania. He doesn't. He believes what Daniel told him, that Daniel likes a neighbor girl. Cinthia and Pamela have figured it out from Daniel's getting all goofy over Tania's unecessary hugs and caresses. Diego also figured it out and told Daniel that he was essentially telegraphing his feelings for Tania.

Rafa's something of a dawg, but I'm thinking maybe he wouldn't pursue Tania if he knew she was "Daniel's girl". I could be wrong. I DON'T like that he lied about his feelings about Cinthia. Well. I guess it's a novela so it has to be a tangled web.

Niecie, who is the Vega firm?

Hey, Anon! Yep, ITA Tania is using Daniel. She may just roll like that, not that she's singling him out malisciously. I think she likes him, but is still using him because that what she does.

MEDICOS #27 (28)

Vega y Associados is the law firm in Por Amar Sin Ley, which has had two seasons so far. The head of that firm, Alonso Vega, is a good friend of Gonzalo's. He and three other lawyers from the firm will be in this series.

Médicos

Lila, thanks for clearing me up about Rafa. I feel better about him now because he does seem to be good for Daniel.

Medicos

Thank you so much for the recap Lila! I haven’t had a chance to watch the episode, but now that I know all the deets, I decided to just skip watching it! It all sounds extremely depressing.. now I’m wondering if Univision cut out any lighthearted scenes because sometimes we need those in between all these heavy story lines

Medicos

PS. I agree- if Univision is going to cut anything out it should be the scenes with Cecilia!!

MEDICOS
Ah, ah, fin de semana. Just tonight's episode to bridge the empty space until Monday night.
Thank you, Lila. It takes an expert to get through a medical tn, and in a "foreign language" to boot.

I did get the sore throat and lack of vitamin D PSA, but not for the life of me did I figure out what they were going to do with the two warring impaled "friends." I would have cut the rebar between them and separated them first. But this is so much more exciting. Somewhere in the dim corners of my mind, it sounded like a Gray's Anatomy episode when they started running out of ideas.

Shame on David for treating Reggie the way he did. He might of at least looked up at her, smiled and then gone back to the computer screen. I think he's being a selfish snob right now. Is this a game of who can act more distant than the other? Maybe Reg only needs one chair in her apartment.

Ana left without gaining a foothold over Art or humiliating Diego. Completely unnecessary scene, other than for advice--"Some day you may have to work with someone you don't see eye to eye with." OK, then what?

I did not recognize Caro. Thanks for identifying her and her Partay-Loving Friend. But, I could care less what happens to her.

Urban--you can be counted on to come up with a new tag for someone and NAIL it: "Cecelia is a leech in bleach." Too funny. Of COURSE Reggie had to part company with Joel, the attorney. Somehow, the Vega & Co. need to step in--just to complicate an already complicated story.

Lila--I accept the challenge to recap next Friday, August 28. Posting will be on Saturday, folks.

MEDICOS

Thanks, Urban! I've never heard of a carry over like this. So a lot of you guys know this character. Cool!

No prob, Niecie. Daniel has tried to be very secretive about Tania being the apple of his eye but he's so transparent. Somehow I don't remember Rafa, Tania and Daniel all being around each other at the same time. I wonder if Rafa were around Daniel and Tania, would he see it?

Hey, UnOp Whoa! Thanks, UnOp. I guess Uni did try to keep this episode by being too weighty by mixing the lighter scenes in with the heavy ones; I kinda condensed and combined. I'd love to see more light-hearted David like the scene Anon reported they left out.

MEDICOS

Anita!!! Howdy!
No here's a DUH moment: I would have cut the rebar between them and separated them first.

Never thought of that! Maybe the jiggling of cutting would make the bleeding worse and sparks flying from cutting the rebar would probably ignite from oxygen all over the place in a hospital. But, the rebar couldn't have been just floating in mid air? What was IT stuck in. Could the EMTs......okay, thinking about this too much!

Ana left without gaining a foothold over Art or humiliating Diego. Completely unnecessary scene, other than for advice--"Some day you may have to work with someone you don't see eye to eye with." OK, then what?

YAH, take THAT Univision! Cutting that would shurely have been a space-saver. AND the saga of Caro and Ximena.

Thank you, Amiga, for taking over on Friday, August 28! And Peeps, tonight's episosde will be up on Saturday afternoon as usual. Yours truly gets to sleep in a bit. Now, I'm not being a martyr getting up early through the week the recap: I'm on the clock for my job anywho, so it all works out.

How in the HECK was I doing this when I was driving to the job? Staying up uber late I guess. Oh well, I wasn't a pup but I was younger then!

Thanks, Anita!

Medicos

You’re right Anita, there WAS a similar situation in Grey’s anatomy! It has been maaaany years since I watched so I admit I may be a little fuzzy on the details, but it in Grey’s they couldn’t cut the pole because it would move and cause more damage. One person had to be slid off the pole- the one with the worst injuries. The pole was left on the person with a greater chance of survival (to be taken out in surgery). Both people were taken to surgery, but the point was that more medical care was given to the person who was already deemed to have a higher chance of survival (in the TN that’s what David wants to do). In Grey’s, the “weaker” person ended up dying, and if Regina wants to focus on the weaker patient first.... jeez I hope David is NOT right in that it might put the other patient in danger!

Highlights will be up tomorrow sometime probably later rather than sooner.

"COMO TU NO HAY DOS":

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2 #83 Part 1

Highlights of the Highlights

The birthday party crowd looks on at the twins with most in shock except for Crucita and the few in the know. Even Claudio cannot tell them apart as he calls Toño Ric. Ric tells him that he is Ric and that the man he thought was his son really is Antonio Cortés. Damián gets real nervous and asks what is going on. Vale tries to explain it to Ori who doesn’t really get it. Toño tells his “father” Claudio that Felix had nothing to do with him coming. Claudio wonders why he is calling him “father” when he doesn’t know him. Ric explains that Claudio does know him. Toño is the son that he has so missed these last days. When Damián says that this can’t be, Toño tells his “carnalastro” that yes! this is the way it is. Toño identifies everyone from Claudio’s household and business. Dora asks why Ric had planted Toño in his place. Ric says no, it was chance that was responsible. Toño explains about the accident and what happened afterwards. Claudio demands to know why he wasn’t honest about who he was. Damián knows: Toño saw wealth and took advantage of the situation. Toño argues it was not the money but it was because he found something far more valuable. He found his “Natita chula”. It was love at first sight. Nati starts to smile. Dora smiles at Claudio whose affect starts to soften.

At the market, Tina thanks Ed and Amelia for letting her be part of their family. She thanks Ed for being like a father to her and he says she can still consider him a father even if things do not work out with Adán. She thanks Amelia for teaching her how to cook. Amelia tells her she won’t call her a “lombriz de agua puerca” any more and begs her not to go and leave Adán. She hugs Tina. Tina explains she will be on tour for a few months. She honestly doesn’t know what is going to happen with her and Adán. Ed suggests she talk to Adán to come to some agreement before she leaves.Tina promises them she will not leave without saying goodbye to him. Amelia and Ed assure Tina that the immature Adán really loves her.Tina explains she is doing what she is doing to give Adán the chance to become again the sensible man he was when they met. Amelia and Tina hug and cry as Ed looks on.

Back at the party, Damiá asks Nati knew If she knew that Ric had been replaced by an impostor. She says she didn’t. Claudio asks where Ric was. He explains he had an accident and ended up in the hospital and he thought he was Antonio Cortés. He lived as Toño. Damián and Ori aren’t buying it. Toño explains how his family took Ric from the hospital thinking it was him. Betty brings up the fact that Ric had amnesia . Vale says since Toño was here, nobody noticed Ric was gone. Rafael now knows why Ric talked so crudely. Everyone starts putting the pieces together except for Ori.

COMO TÚ NO HAY DOS Part 2

Ric says he is going to explain everything and asks Crucita to bring in their special guests. Claudio amd Dora explain to Ric that when they got him as am infant, they had no idea that his mother was alive or that he had a twin brother. Felix and the midwife had lied to them. Ric says he knows all about it. Felix says he sold him for a few pesos. Crucita leads Luchita and Renata into the tent. Ori wonders who Luchita is. Ric informs her that she is his mother.

At the market, Mayo is with Ed. Officials from family services have come to take custody of Mayo. They will care for him and keep him safe. Mayo is upset. Ed assures him that Fabi and Toño will go and get him when they find out.

Ric introduces Luz María his bio-mom. Claudio approaches a stoic detached Luchita to tell her that he and Socorro his wife had not idea that Felix had snatched her son away from her with lies. Dora adds they had no idea the great hurt they were causing. Luchita speaks saying that It seems that Felix took advantage of them all with her having a bad time during her childbirth and Claudio with his urgent need to become a father. Damián wants to know from Ric why destroying his father’s company wasn’t enough. Why did he have to humiliate him here in public by announcing that he isn’t his son? Claudio angrily tells Damián Ric will always be his son. That is something nothing or nobody will change. Damián next asks what kind of a man Claudio is if he is going to accept “that woman” (referring to Luchita) as part of the family. Toño comes to his mother’s defense as Damián rages on. Ric sets him straight by announcing that Toño, Renata and Luchita are all part of his family. If Damián doesn’t like it, he can leave.

Amelia pays Tina a visit to say goodbye. She is there to tell her that she deserves to be happy no matter what she does wherever she is. She also wears her to know she will always be her favorite “lombriz”. They share a tearful hug.

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2 Part 3

Claudio tells Damián and Toño to both cool it. A drunken Ori is wondering who is married to who. Nati says she married Toño. Vale says Toño married her knowing she thought he was Ric. That wasn’t very honest. Luchita is not pleased. Toño tries to explain things his way. Nati agrees they were never together until she fell in love with him. He never pressured her. He apologizes to Ric for having taken his place and to Nati for having deceived her. He feels really sorry for all of it except for having fallen in love with Nati. Nati smiles. Ric says he has another surprise but he is keeping it in reserve until the end. Damián finds that curious because he has a surprise, too.

Sol is leaving. Luna gives her one of her mother’s clay pots to take with her.

Inside the house, Claudio wants to tell Ric the whole story of how he arrived at his home. Ric doesn’t think that is necessary. He knows where he came from. He tells them he knows that they didn’t go about doing things the right way. Claudio takes full responsibility. Dora asks him to forgive them. Rafael interrupts saying there is someone to see Ric. He breaks out in a smile when he sees it is Fabi. She tells him in front of Dora and Claudio that he is the man that she is in love with. They kiss. Ric introduces Claudio and Dora to Fabi the woman he loves. Ric describes Dora as the woman who is still like a second mother to him. Dora is happily surprised. He introduces Claudio as the best father life could give anyone. Claudio is pleased.

Adán is looking wistfully at what Tina has left behind when she enters with her suitcase to tell him that the tour has been cancelled so now they won’t have to separate to deal with their differences. They kiss.

Back at the party, Ric introduces everyone to his novia Fabi the woman who he hopes will soon say “yes “ to being his wife. Ori Stumbles through, looks at Gabi and wonders who “that thing” is aloud. Damián gets sarcastic about how very well the party is going. First, Ric fills it with poor souls and now he introduces his novia. He knows her. She is very pretty but what about her social class? Ric punches Damián In the mouth. He lands on the ground. Ric shouts he had better respect his novia. With a bloody mouth, Damián tells Ric that for him the fun is just starting. He gives him a manila envelope. It is his “gift.”

Thank you Lila for your recap of Medicos. It really helps because I lose some dialogue since my Spanish is limited.

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2 Part 4

Damián announces that his new company Fuentes Caro has complete and absolute control over Reyes Alonso Investments.Diego clarifies it for Betty. Damián is now is the bigwig in control of all of Claudio’s companies. There is silence as Claudio is in shock and as Damián explains every last bit he is on control of. He emphasizes to Claudio that everything that belonged to Claudio is now legally his. He tells Ric that this is Ric’s gift. Claudio doesn’t understand how he could have betrayed him. Damián says it was very easy when he Gabe him co trol of his company. He out the noose around his own neck. Dora escorts a visibly shaken Claudio out of the party. Toño accuses him of being the one who supposedly lost the $40 million. Damián says of course it was him and he had help. Ric tells Toño to just let Damián enjoy his moment. Damián informs them all that from this point on, that neither his sister nor his mother or him will have to be “second class” citizens in this damn house. Vale screams that she wants nothing from him. What about Ori? Ori only wants to tell Dora that since Claudio now has no money, she can go ahead and take advantage of the situation. Ori plans to make a substitution in that department. She has been just dying to do it. Dora explains it doesn’t matter if he were the poorest man in he world. He is the love of her life.

Ric announces that now it is his turn. Damián can’t imagine what he would have to say since nothing will change his or his family’s situation. Ivette hands Damián a manila envelope. Roc says that it turns out that Damián’s new company Fuentes Jasso. (I had the wrong name earlier but can’t correct it in this format) has a foreign account in his and a partner’s name. Damián demands that Nati tell him that she didn’t do what he thinks she did. Ric says all of the deposits that Damián made no longer exist. They all were returned to Reyes Alonso this morning. Ric says all Claudio needs to do is sign a document to regain total power over his company. As Nati smiles, Damián calls her a damn traitor. He lunges towards her and Toño steps between them.

Damián tells Nati he is in no way going to allow her be a heroine. It is time to tell all about what kind of woman Nati has been. Betty steps up and says why not start with Ori. She talks about Ori harassing the men at the company and those who have tried to get away from her like Diego. Diego admits to being threatened with losing his job if he betrayed her. Damián knew about it and did nothing. Fabi tells Damián that he only knows how to lie and he knows what she is talking about. Claudio asks that somebody from security accompany Damián Out of the house. Damián says that won’t be necessary. He will get his things and leave. Before he leaves, Damián has a message, especially for Ric, he swears that this isn’t over. Ori starts blabbering about it all being lies as Vale escorts her from the party.

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2 Part 5

Fede is sitting in his restaurant. He is not happy he missed Sol leaving. Daniel says he tried to wake him up but he couldn’t. Maybe it was the curse. Fede is tired hearing about the Morales curse. Daniel tells him that Sol said she’d call and let them know she was okay when she got to her destination. He tells Daniel to go work for the Morales already. Daniel insists he couldn’t stop Sol from leaving. Fede doesn’t want to see him again. Fede asks the “ever grinning in perpetuity” Murillo if he believes in the curse. At the Morales restaurant, little Julia drops and breaks a clay pot that belonged to the Morales’ mother. Murillo suddenly wakes up and worriedly asks what he is doing there like that in a wheelchair. Julia comes running in and asks for Fede to hide her from Luna. Luna follows and Fede says he has no idea where Julia is but wants Luna to know that Murillo was talking. Sad to say, Murillo is no longer talking, only grinning.

At Ed’s, Andy is joining Tina, Amelia and Adán for the gran final of “ María, María, mil veces María”. The get their snack lineD up on the coffee table. Amelia and Adán tell Andy they were so happy the tour got cancelled so Tina could stay around. Andy says the tour wasn’t cancelled. He explains that Tina cancelled out so she could stay with them.

Toño talks with Nati. He could never believe what Damián had to say about her.She would never do anything like that. Nati tells him that he doesn’t really know her. The only reason she knew what Damián was doing was because she was his lover. Does he still think she is a good person now? Ric says he isn’t one to judge. Look at him and what he did passing himself off as Ric. She asks would he have forgiven her before If he had known she had cheated on him with Damián. Toño says yes he would have if she would have apologized and said she still loved him because, unlike Ric, he loves her. He knows she loves hm, too. Nevertheless, Nati decides she isn’t good for him and that they cannot be together.

Ric wants to know how Fabi realized that she wanted him. She says it wasn’t easy. She had idealized Toñom ever since she was a kid. She never thought she would find anyone better than him. Ric says he is totally different from Toño. Fabi tells him that is exactly what made her fall in love with him. He is different. Ric is happy. They kiss.

MÉDICOS, #28, 8-21-20

Hola, Peeps! Let’s jump right in and see what our Heroes and heffas are doing today [These are gender-neutral terms.] I’m going to try to cover this in the rapid-fire whiplash way it was presented. That said, I will give light treatment to some scenes so you and I are not here all day. As always, corrections are welcome; discussion is highly encouraged and feel free to flesh out any part of the action or characters that you like or highlight linguistic nuggets. This Patio belongs to us all!

“Please, Doctors! This is NOT the moment to argue! Regina is the one in charge and we’re going to do what she says!” barks Art. David responds, “It’s your call, Regina, if you wish to do it this way, that’s the way we’ll do it.” Regina states she and David will do surgery on Ruben first (the angry brother who is most critical) and Art will take care of Antonio (partner of Ruben’s sister, Priscila, who is more stable). Regina climbs up to the edge of Antonio’s gurney, calls for Art and David to hold the patients steady and for a sterilized, hygienically wrapped bolt cutter. (Bolt cutters employ a mechanical advantage or boost in the cutting action, so it’s not just a matter of brute force needed to cut through something like the rebar impaling the men.) On the count of three, David and Art brace the patients and Regina cuts the rebar. Regina hands off the bolt cutter, climbs down and commands the surgical intervention to begin!

Daniel and Tania are in the call room; his shift is done. He thanks her for the chocolate bar and for worrying about him. He tells her goodnight and hopes he’s not too tired for them to have dinner together tomorrow. She presses her cheek against his and air kisses, telling him to get some rest.

The arduous surgery over, Art and Regina are in the ICU at Antonio’s bedside. Regina tells him he did excellent work and asks him to be very honest about what she’s going to ask him. “Do you think I put him at risk? No. You had to make a decision and this always implies risk. But I know David is always taking the contrary position. Regina answers that she and David have had problems and she is afraid this was a negative influencing factor. Art says that’s the way he always is and why it takes such effort to get along with him. Regina says, “He’s a good Doctor.” Yes, Art acknowledges with an impatient nod of his head. She continues, “His only problem is he is too visceral (thinking, acting from the gut) and has an impulsive character, but I also recognize that these very traits are a great help in this type of work.” Priscila, Antonio’s Novio, enters the room. Regina updates her on Antonio’s and Ruben’s conditions. It was a very complicated surgery; Antonio is doing well, Ruben is unconscious, under sedation and being closely observed: the next few hours will be critical in determining the prognosis for Ruben. Regina seeks to calm Priscila, they are getting their best attention and they will recover.

MÉDICOS, #28, 8-21-20

Later that night, outside the hospital Tania and Pamela encounter Rafa who tells them he just came out of a very complicated surgery. Oh, Tania would have loved to see him in action. “You’ve already seen me in action,” he replies suggestively. A light bulb goes off over Pamela’s head! Rafa saunters off and Pamela can’t wait to get the deets as the two go into the hospital.

David is at Ruben’s bedside; Regina enters and asks how Ruben is. He is stable; Regina states she is sure he will do well. David is writing in the chart, Regina is off to his right side, looking at Ruben. “Antonio is stable too, I just left his room. I know our procedure was risky, but I made the decision because I thought they would both do well.” David turns to face her. “Regina, you are the Chief of the ER; you did the right thing.” Cue quietly plaintive acoustic guitar. “David, you know that I don’t like to be this way. I always like to be open to the opinions of everyone.” David says, “Okay, I understand that you bear the most responsibility, and you should have the last word.” Regina says, “You and I are having problems and yo sé que no es nada más por este caso. [Please help here, Peeps.] We need to talk.” David looks at her a long moment. . . .

Art’s cell phone rings. It’s Dr. Garza’s Secretary calling to reschedule Cecelia’s psych appointment, as she didn’t show. Art is stunned. Later, at his house, Cecelia arrives and tells a bold faced lie about what a good appointment she had. He outs her lie and she gets angry and indignant. “I told you what I need is YOU!” she shouts and, as she stalks out of the room tells him he has to decide what she is to him, “I am your pareja, NOT one of your patients!” [Yes, just a few days ago Ceceiia suggested Art look at her as one of her patients so she could receive similar time and attention.]

David says, “Tell me, what you are talking about.” Regina answers, “Seriously, we can’t go on like this. What happened with Sergio can’t affect what goes on here.” David answers she is absolutely right. Regina says she knows how to handle Sergio. David says she does not have to do so alone; nor face any other problems alone. David says he is not the best expressing himself but he acts from impulse and she needs to know that. She thanks him and she is grateful that he is concerned for her. David: “Look, I know more than ever now that I have no business meddling in your problems but in that moment I could not be silent!” Regina: The only thing I want is that this doesn’t complicate our work relationship because that is exactly what is happening; if these difficulties between you and I keep happening if is as if Sergio has won because he’s hurting me; I keep feeling the pain. David: I can’t be objective in this. I think the best thing is for us to put some distance between us because I cannot stand to see you suffer. David leaves the room, leaving Regina where she stands, in conversation interruptus, looking after him in puzzlement.

MÉDICOS, #28, 8-21-20

Minutes later, Regina enters the Doctors all-purpose room where Cinthia is catching up on writing in patients’ charts. Regina tells her she just came out of a complicated but successful surgery. Regina: You know what? David’s attitude is not helping me a bit! Cinthia: I can imagine, but you have to tell him so. Regina said she tried, but he didn’t listen and left abruptly after saying they need to maintain distance between them. Cinthia wonders what David is angry about. Regina doesn’t know, she just doesn’t like things to be like this between them. Cinthia: I know he’s a bit complicated, but why is this affecting you like this right now? Cue light, tinkly music as Regina pauses and shifts in her chair. Regina: Because in these last few days, without my asking him to do so, he is very worried about me. Frankly, I’m very surprised he’s behaving this way towards me. I don’t know; I don’t want that, after everything that has happened to start distancing myself. Cinthia has a lightbulb slowly brighten over her head as she regards her friend silently. [Peeps, please help with this phrase. I’m taking time with some dialogue as it’s important to these key relationships. I’m not sure I’m understanding the Spanish right. Regina said, No sé, no quisiera que después de todo lo que ha pasado, como que se empiece a distanciar. After all what that has happened? Please chime in with your linguistic and dramatic insights.]

It is morning in the market. Paco encourages Daniel in his decision to tell “his Girl” how he feels: Inhale….Exhale…He counsels him to just be direct, no nervous hemming and hawing. Daniel decides to buy a single rose for the occasion.

Pamela goes in to see Don Hector with several paperbacks to choose from. Mutual affection drives them both to decide to call each other by first names, Pam-EH-la and Hector. He’s grateful for the books but can’t decide which one he likes; he’ll take them all but fears he won’t have time to read them. Pam promises him he will eventually leave the hospital and have time to read them all!

Priscila visits with Antonio who is awash with shame and responsibility for Ruben’s anger, the fight, and the terrible injuries they have suffered, especially Ruben, who is not doing so well. Priscilla tearfully says it would have been better if SHE told her brother about them. Antonia asks her to be calm for their baby’s sake.

Back in the central staff area of the ER, two dudes serve David with a summons! Sergio is pressing charges for David’s attempt to feed Sergio his own teeth! David looks at the papers and Regina takes them and looks as well. Maldita sea! summarizes David’s expected response as he flings the summons in the air. He is furious and Miryea looks on with a smug little smile as Regina convinces David that they go somewhere private to discuss the situation.

MÉDICOS, #28, 8-21-20

Early morning at the Instituto’s favorite coffee shop. Tania orders her favorite brew when Rafa comes in and chats her up about, what else, when they can hook up again and how much better it will be the next time. Our happy ingénue, Daniel, enters the coffee shop and confronts what we knew would happen: Tania and Rafa hungrily and deeply kissing right at the counter in front of anyone who isn’t blind. Daniel is stunned but looks on for a few horrifying moments before leaving, throwing the rose in the ornamental grass. He leaves and painfully receives a text from Paco wishing him luck in his declaration of love. At that very moment, Tania and Rafa continue trying to nail down their next tryst. Unable to settle, she gives him an open invitation: “You are welcome in my home and to my bed as many times as you like.” Rafa looks after Tania with a, “DAMN, Babe on tap!” look.

Pamela and Diego see poor stunned Daniel fairly running into the hospital without stopping to give them more than a cursory greeting. They agree he’s acting strange and something grave must’ve happened.

David’s ire continues in the break room. Regina reminds him that impulsive acts have consequences! Sergio is doing this to get at HER. “My problems are affecting you and I don’t like it, David.” He doesn’t care, but she does and for that reason, they have to resolve it in her way! Okay, he relents. Regina: We are not going to give any motives to (fuel Sergio’s anger) in any way. I know that I’m in the right and I’m going to personally make sure that Sergio does not interfere in my life anymore. Please help me, stay away from all this drama and do things my way, okay? David nods, silent.

Pamela springs herself on Luis, he starts to ask her why she always does this, but decides it’s probably useless. She just went to see “Hector” he looked good and is improving! Luis shows Pamela echocardiogram results on Don Hector. It’s bad; his heart could stop at any time. Pamela is disbelieving! She was just with him and he was bright and talkative. Luis instructs her not to mistake a patient’s state of animation or mood with health. Luz interrupts to tell them she’s managed to adjust Don Hector’s bill. This reignites Pamela. Luis and Pamela are present as Luz tells Don Hector his bill has been reduced, she leaves. Luis and Pamela talk to him about his test results. Pamela first names “Hector” and Luis pointedly refers to him as DON Hector for Pamela’s benefit. Don Hector says he knows the results are grave but Pamela interrupts with a cheerful suggestion that they be positive.

Regina and David go to see Gonzalo. Everything is not ok. David slaps the summons down on Gonzalo’s desk: Sergio is pressing charges for assault against David. Regina: David was wrong (David sighs and rolls his eyes in exasperation) but all he was doing was defending me. Regina tells Gonzalo that her lawyer asked her to drop her suit for monetary compensation in the divorce. David is outraged; she can’t do that! Gonzalo thinks the first thing to do is calm down. David maintains he is not afraid of that imbecile. Regina says it’s not about fear and Gonzalo asserts that it is important not to be provoked or triggered. Gonzalo tells Regina to thank her Lawyer, dismiss him from the case and leave everything to him. He’s going to call on his Lawyer, Alonso, who is one of the best. [AKA BIG GUNS! My friends on the Patio say this is Alonso Vega of Vega y Associados!]

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2 Part 6

Claudio tells Dora he doesn’t understand how he could have missed that things were so wrong with Damián. He suspected Ori was up to something. That is why he had her followed. A somber Luchita appears to tell them that she and Renata are leaving. Her family’s business is finished with them. Claudio tells her “not so fast.” He doesn’t want her separated from Ric. He also can understand why she wouldn’t want to see him or Dora. Luchita says that is not a reason because so much of the situation has now been clarified. She sees that her so was very well cared for And loved by them. For that, she is grateful. They all were Felix’s victims. Dora thinks it is a good time to start a new chapter in their lives. Claudio asks her to stay to celebrate their son’s birthday. It wouldn’t be the same without her. She says she will check with Renata. Claudio says it is time for him and Dorma to start a new life together. They do not have to hid their love any longer. They kiss.

Tina finds that Adán has packed her bags back up so she can go on tour. She knows Andy must have told him. Adán loves the fact she would stay behind to be with him since he loves her. She doesn’t want to leave him. He tells her not to worry. He will be there waiting for her. The situation will be good for both of them to learn how to trust the other. She can join the tour tomorrow. He and his parents will take care of her grandma so she doesn’t have to be concerned about her. They each carry their rings on neck chains. She asks him to put hers on her finger. He does and kisses it. He tells her when she gets back he will have a larger apartment for them. She doesn’t know what to say. He says what about how she is going to miss him. They kiss.

Remedios tells Fede that He has to help find Espiridiona’s relative at the market. People usually keep passing down their family businesses from generation to generation. Remedios neaten Espiridiona made piñatas the old fashioned ones not the ones made out of cardboard. Fede remembers Julia’s song. He realizes that Julia is Espiridiona’s heir. He leaves and Remedios tells Estrella that Julia could be the answer to the curse. Estrella starts to empty out the restaurant.when Luna asks her why, she tells her about Julia being the answer to the curse.

Andy, Amelia, Tima and Adán are eating snacks and watching their novela’s gran final. It was 80 episodes over 4 months! Ed disturbs them but had to tell them about what happened to Mayo. Poor kid!

MÉDICOS, #28, 8-21-20

Rafa springs, literally, into the break room and upon Cinthia with two coffees. Rafa: How beautiful you are and even more so when you smile! He asks how she is. She’s better. He offers that when she feels more confident to do so, he would like to hear what happened. No, it’s okay. He swears that anyone who hurts her will have to answer to him. Cue a lilting female voice singing, accompanied by guitar. He says whatever she needs, she can count on him. Cinthia cocks her head a little, as if to adjust her view of him. Cinthia: You are a very strange case because when you talk like this, it’s as if you actually have a heart!

David and Regina walk down the hallway together. She tells him to be calm; Gonzalo is going to help them. David says ok. She says she is going to see Luz and then will check in on Antonio and Ruben and she’ll see him later. David: “Regina, forgive me, I didn’t mean to get you mixed up in these kind of problems.” She accepts with a reassuring slap on his arm and goes in to see Luz. Regina tells Luz about the gruesome accident and asks that she see what she can do to adjust their bills. It was all a horrible, tragic, accident. They don’t have many resources and besides, they are cuñados (brothers in law). Luz will take care of it. Luz brings up her worry for Caro, off vacationing in Cuernavaca with friends. Regina notes with surprise a current picture of Caro on Luz’s credenza; she remarks how she’s grown since the last time she saw her! In a much later scene, it seems Ximena is setting up another party that Caro is concerned could run too late. [Please fill in here, Peeps, if you wish].

We are serenaded as Rafa has Cinthia put her things down, put on her stethoscope and presses the diaphragm to his heart. Rafa: Listen. It’s beating for you! Cinthia laughs, overcome by the obviously corny but charming gesture. Rafa: There are millions of women in the world, but none like you! Trust me, I am a good listener! Rafa finally breaks through and Cinthia accepts a date with him and two glasses of wine over which she can get whatever she wishes off her chest: AS FRIENDS! Rafa literally jumps back over the couch in joy! She heads off for the ER, he to the OPC. [I’m sorry, but I think Rafa is fine! He’s a different flavor than Art and David, but he’s damned cute to me!] Later, Ana is a be-yatch to Rafa in the OPC. FF [Fill in if you care]

Tania enters the all-purpose room where Daniel is. She notes he is cold and strained. He leaves her puzzled. At Daniel’s home, Paco tells Elena this is the big day that Daniel professes his love. Elena goes off the deep end about having a Daughter in law and Grandchildren soon. Ah, yes! Daniel has worked hard; it’s his time to have some fun.

MÉDICOS, #28, 8-21-20

Regina updates Priscila on her brother, Ruben, in the ICU. He is critical but he will recover. Priscila cries that this is all her fault because of her relationship with Antonio. Regina entreats Priscila not to burden herself with this load of undeserved guilt: it was an accident. She seems to listen.

Daniel cries alone in the supply room. Lili comes in and asks if he needs anything and then, if she can help him with anything. Daniel has turned his back and looks aimlessly into a supply cabinet. Can she get him some medicine, how is he feeling? No, what he has cannot be cured with any medicines, thank you. Lili: Come what may, everything passes; it’s only a question of time. Daniel has turned to face Lili. Daniel: It’s not a question of time. I should have listened to that patient I had the other day when he said love does not exist. He was right. Daniel thanks Lili and leaves.

Art drops a bunch of charts which Pam retrieves. They go to sit down in the staff area. Pamela, budding Psychiatrist, knows Art is off and asks what’s up. He tells her about Cecelia’s refusing to go through with therapy as she promised, AND having lied about it. In a role reversal, Pamela’s skill at the behavioral arts shines as she tells him he has done all he can do. Participating in and benefitting from therapy is something a person has to want to do for themselves; they cannot be compelled and any efforts to do so are doomed to failure. Art is sitting in a chair, Pamela is standing. “Doctor, you have done all you can do; she has to have the will to improve but that is a decision SHE has to make. If I may be frank with you, I think now it’s time that you start thinking more about yourself, than about her. You can do it.” Pamela touches his shoulder and Art’s face dawns with a new realization.

Prsicila and Antonio share tender moments and she offers support for Antonio’s guilt over the fight, the accident and Ruben’s horrible state. Antonio asks Priscila to forgive him. She shares Regina’s counsel: it was an accident and they have to get past this, and they will; as he told her, they have to think of their baby.

Cinthia finds Daniel sitting in the hospital lobby. After some probing, Daniel tells Cinthia what happened. Daniel is shocked and hurt because he thought Tania liked him, but was only mocking him all along. It killed him to see her with him. With who, Cinthia asks? Daniel says it doesn’t matter because he’s going to forget her. Daniel says he’s a fool for not having waited like Cinthia told him and how could he ever think anybody could like someone like him! Cinthia tells him not to beat himself up and, truth be told, Tania just lost the lottery because there aren’t many men like him! She tells him not to cling to someone who doesn’t value him; he is worth more than that! She asks again who it was and where it happened. He is paged to the ER and leaves. He tells her he’ll look for her when he can and tell her about it.

MÉDICOS, #28, 8-21-20

Sensitivity Alert.Daniel sees a little girl who cut her hand in a fan. He is attentive, yet tender with the sobbing little tyke. Tania enters the ER bay; Daniel rolls his eyes. Daniel assures the little girl he will do something to help her feel better. Daniel calls Tania “Doctora” and asks her to get a Nurse to bring a suturing kit and to help him. She offers to help, he declines and requests that she ask Lili to come and help him. Tania turns to go looking slightly puzzled and somewhat deflated.

Art sees Regina in the staff area of the ER, asks how she is and how her patients are. She updates him.

Art: What’s happening with David?

Regina: Nada

Art: Regina, I could see in the surgery that you two were angry. What happened?

Regina: We had a problem, Arturo.

Art: What did he do now, mess up some procedure?

Regina: No. It wasn’t a work thing.

Art: Then?

Regina: Gonzalo and David helped me with my move. Sergio arrived and saw me with David; they ended up fighting.

Art: So it turns out Sergio is violent?

Regina: Too much; he’s a totally different person.

Art: I’m very worried about what could happen. Why don’t you talk with your Lawyers and see what they tell you?

Regina: Art, I’m on this; I’m going to change Lawyers.

Art: Come what may; no way am I going to let him get near you. I don’t want anything to happen to you, Regina. You are a woman who is very important to me.

Art looks steadily into Regina’s eyes. Regina herself seems to be in suspended animation.

MEDICOS -- OOOOPS THAT WAS THE END!!

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2 Part 7

A still upset Damián appears with Ori to tell Claudio that they are leaving. Claudio tells him to get on his way and to be grateful he is not being prosecuted for what he did. Ori urges him to go but Damián says Claudio isn’t going like this and pulls out a gun. Everyone backs away as he faces Ric and Toño. He accuseS Ric of having ruined his life and of always have taken everything from him. He takes the safety off the gun and aims at Ric. Toño steps up and says he is Ric. Ric says he is Ric. Suddenly Damián shoots and Ric falls to the ground. Luchita and Dora run to him as everyone looks on in shock.

Como tú

Tina is pathetic. Clearly she’s lonely and desperately wants a family. Still don’t understand what she sees in that flama loser. She wants him more than he wants her.

Fabiana is pathetic too. Can’t have tono so now she’s in love with the twin. Sure.

Is there a reason julia looks like she’s cross eyed all the time?

Médicos

David is getting so annoying. Someone never grew up...with that terrible attitude how the hell did he become a dr? Someone would have called him out for it during med school. He’s perfect for Ana. Regina deserves so much better than this whacko

Can Arturo dump Cecilia already? She looks like she’s forty with that ugly hair.

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2

I so enjoyed this episode as all the the loose ends get tied up. Do you think we could get MORE than one wedding on Monday? That would be a treat. We could have THREE!

They sure gave Damiân a good and bloodied mouth after getting punched. Makeup dept. did a good job.

Here is hoping Ric isn’t at death’s door too long. We need as much happy as we can fit in last episode.

Will anyone call 911? Ever? Like nobody has a cellphone on them and couldn’t discretely call?

Amelia and Ed were so sweet with Tina.

Poor Fede! Poor Murillo!

JudyB, I can bring a variety of tamales for Monday. (Pork, rajas y queso, chicken and mushroom) We can build on that and have a feast!!! I thought of us as Amelia and the group had their snacks ready to go on the coffee table ready to go.

Medicos. Amazingly detailed and perceptive recap, Lila! Well, evidently the episode of the 2 impaled construction workers was ripped from Gray's Anatomy and not from the headlines. I hope the Caro extra party episode wasn't ripped from Law and Order SVU. Daniel's seeing Tania and Rafa kissing may be a blessing in disguise--it would have been worse if they had gone out a few times (as friends) and Daniel had had reason to believe she was truly interested in him. And this way, he sees what a kind, compassionate person Lili is--a way better more mature human being than Tania. I hope the big multi-lawyer firm eats Sergio's lunch. He certainly has it coming! And yep, Pamela nails it about Cecelia, and will be an excellent psychiatrist!

"COMO TU NO HAY DOS":

Jarifa: Love the long recap. Safe to say Murillo will NEVER recover for the foreseeable future.

Tono & Natalia (if she comes clean) will end up together. Ric & Fabi are obviously endgame.

Anon: Tina will probably cheat on Cranky Adan while on tour.

Tuesday is the Gran Final. Get your DVRs ready & let's hope Univision doesn't cut more scenes.

"COMO TU NO HAY DOS":

My personal thoughts on last night:
1.) Plastic Blondie drunk as a skunk & everyone ignoring her LOL.

2.) Renata (who was enjoying that drink) & Luchita enjoying the show at the party.

3.) Vale cracks me up.

4.) Crucita & Ivette are AWESOME.

5.) Tina will probably cheat on Cranky Adan while she's on tour. Both are pathetic.

6.) Sideburns Dude (Fede) needs a happily ever after with Sol (if she comes back).

7.) Safe to say Murillo will NEVER recover from whatever that is....

8.) Where is German ?

9.) Ric & Tono wearing the same suit, etc.,

10.) I'm assuming law enforcement busted Carlo (Damian's partner-in-crime) 🤔

11.) Natalia telling Tono they don't deserve to be together wasn't surprising. She'll be back with Tono by Monday.

12.) What's up with everyone sitting there while Ric is bleeding ? Call 911!

13.) How big is Claudio's mansion ?

14.) Noticed the social distancing at the party.

15.) Enjoyed watching Ric punching Damian.

16.) Anon: Julia is cross-eyed ?

17.) Diego & Betty are an intriguing couple. But who is he related to ?

18.) What is Andy doing at Fabi' parents' house ?

19.) Eating snacks while watching their Telenovela LOL.

20.) Big question is whether Vale or Renata end up with Luis ?

COMO TÚ

Very satisfying episode, JARIFA, and you really did it justice with all your wonderful detail and observations. It was good to see the "gemelos" finally working together, as well as the rift between Natalia and Toño being cleared up. Ditto for Fabi and Ricardo. And yes, finally...Dora and Claudio, although for a while there, I was afraid Claudio was about to have a heart attack.

Well, we'll need a few hair-raising moments with Ricardo in the hospital "muy delicado" before all is well for the Gran Final.

But now to the important stuff--our snacks! Those tamales sound wonderful. Just thinking about them makes me hungry. I'll bring drinks. What's your favorite to go with tamales?--Beer, Soft drinks, tequila? I'm a pansy drinker so I'll probably bring a non-alcoholic beer like O'Douls. But for you, dear partner, anything you want!!!!

MEDICOS

Definitely a juicy episode LILA, and, as always, enjoyed your observations, reactions to the characters and especially all the musical notations as the mood of each interaction changed.

Loved your inviting opener:

"Hola, Peeps! This Patio belongs to us all!"

Quite true, and it's sweet how you invite us all to chime in. On Cecilia:

Am I bad for hoping she actually stalked out of the house, not just the room? And wow, the more I see of Arturo's digs, the more I like it. Quite the place. He must have paid off his med school bills early to afford an apartment like that.

Rafa and Tania:

he has that "DAMN, Babe on Tap!" Look

Well you know that scene is going to come back to bite our lovable scoundrel (yeah, I have a soft spot for him too LILA.) And I'm also going to go out on a limb here and say I don't think Tania is a baddie. She's just a natural flirt and okay, the female version of Rafa. Ready to rumple the sheets with whoever appeals to her physically. Unfortunately that is NOT Daniel. And I do think she is truly hurt and confused by his sudden coldness. But it's not her fault he fell for her hook, line and sinker. She's beautiful, she likes being charming and adorable, and unfortunately she sometimes reels in more than she can handle. Or wants to.

And Rafa, so excited about his wine and sympathy with Cinthia he jumped over the couches! Quite the stunt. But we know the planned heart to heart is going to fall apart, once Cinthia learns about his hookups with Tania. Consequences, m'lad, consequences!

Pamela is just so darn perky and chirpy, you can see she's driving some of the weary veterans mad. She's even getting on my nerves. And I assume a tragic end for Don Hector will cloud her sunny demeanor for a while. But kudos to the actor for playing a role where Death is waiting in the wings. Has to be a little "too real life" for him at his age, but he's a trooper. Several of the older male actors have played roles right up to their deaths in these telenovelas so it's a very macho tradition to work until one's last breath. And probably a good idea too. In my experience, retirement sucks.

Thanks amiga. I always enjoy your take on things.

Hey, Anon, I bet you Art totally agrees with you!

Hey, SpanProf! Thanks! I'm glad Daniel found out now, too. His asking Tania to go get Lili to help him was perfect. He wasn't nasty about it, either. One thing though. Tania is who she is. Yes, she took advantage of his offer to help her at the beginning of residency. He made that offer and, being an easy going kind of person, she took him up on it. The hugs and caresses and such, while somewhat excessive, he put a meaning on those that she didn't intend. She didn't sneak around with Rafa while trying to make Daniel think she had feelings for him. So, he bears responsibility for this hard lesson. He tried to make Tania fit the "girl of his dreams" mold but that ain't who she is. Daniel's inexperienced with women and I think Paco is, too. Paco and Elena probably are each other's first and only. It's Ok. I hope he does get to know Lili. She was so genuinely concerned and supportive.

You're right: Pamela's going to be a bomb shrink!

MÉDICOS, #28, 8-21-20

Hey, Jude----y Get it? Ah, ha! Oh, ok. JudyB!! Thanks!! I can tell you the "whiplash way" takes longer! Jeezopete! I'm glad you enjoyed it, though!

Judy, I hope that now that Pamela helped Art see the light about taking care of himself, Whiny, nasally Cecelia WILL stalk out of the house and off our screens! Uuuuuf! Man, she gets on my third nerve! And yes, Art has quite the crib!

JudyB! I'm reacting as I read through this ITA about Tania. Please read what I just said above. I know I am one who has bad-mouthed her but she is NOT a bad person! And I do think she is truly hurt and confused by his sudden coldness. Agree, Judy, with everything you said!

JudyB, Pamela is naive and out of line about Don Hector. I think Luis is right: she is confusing state of animation with health but more than that, she told Luis he reminds her of her Grandfather. She has made an unconscious emotional attachment that is making her deny the gravity of Don Hector's illness. We know he's going to die and it will be a bittersweet and growth-inducing moment for her.

Interesting point about the actor playing Don Hector. My big brother is retiring this month...for the third time. Good for this gentleman! We've all seen bad make up jobs where younger people played older ones. Yes, this actor definitely b rings the authenticity to the role!

Como Tu
Oh, sigh. I posted this earlier to the wrong thread. No brain!

Jarifa, thank you so much for this splendid recap with all the detail. It was a jam-packed episode!

I see you liked it. I have such huge respect for your telenovela wisdom, so I’m trying to look at it with new eyes, as I thought it was really lame. The writers and director could have done so much more with it instead of having everybody just stand like statues and shout out plot resolutions. The actors should have had much more time to react to all these gut-punch revelations. And there were so many at one time! They could have ended the show right there, as they were almost out of story, but they then added Ric getting shot.

I’d really been loving this show until it seemed like they tossed out the writers and got new ones. Seemed like, but I have no idea if that happened. But the writing suddenly changed right at the time when they turned Tina and the pastora, both very interesting and serious characters into sit-com folks, complete with doop-tee-doop sitcom background music. Tina was suddenly acting childish and was mugging a lot. La pastora was dancing on stage. There was that fake baby for Tina to take care of. At one point, la pastora seemed to have hypnotic powers. Good grief.

The maldicion plot line was always kind of silly – but it was the comic-relief part of the show and was fun.

But anyway the acting is splendid - so many wonderful performances. I’d never seen Adrian Uribe in anything and he’s great. I hadn’t seen Sergio Reynoso (Felix) before, at least not that I remember, and he was astonishing in this role. Emmy-worthy if this had been a U.S. show. The Renata actress is new to me too – she was terrific. I’m a huge fan of Azela Robinson. But there were tons of other terrific performances I thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you again Jarifa, and please excuse my grumbling.

Great stuff, Lila. Great descriptions of the action.

We all knew that Daniel would have to face the music sooner rather than later about Tania. Better now than later so he can save face. I see Lili as his future love interest and I'm sure his mum would like her much more!

The special effects on these two accident victims were quite gruesome, indeed. Here's hoping that Ruben recovers.

Pamela is completely right about Miss Roots. She will not help herself because she thinks there is nothing wrong. She can't face her issues. She is a narcissist playing the Damsel in Distress card. Arturo is not playing the White Knight card and would be far better off getting out of this game. He needs a life partner who shares his dedication to saving lives.

I failed to mention this before but Ana's got such a bug up her anal cavity about Diego that her treatment of him as a non-entity should be grounds for a serious reprimand. Unfortunately she is too clever to do this in front of Gonazalo.

MÉDICOS, #28, 8-21-20

Thank you, Urban! Yes, Ii share your sentiments. I didn't know Daniel would find out this soon, but the hospital is a small world, Tania and Rafa are comfortable in their randy skin, so it was bound to be sooner! Elena and Paco would LOVE Lili and she would be so kind and respectful to them!!

Miss Roots! HA! Yah, Urban, you can't let those roots go, can you? That's hilarious! Yah, it IS pretty horrid! I think Miss Roots is definitely diagnosable. She is a narcissist playing the Damsel in Distress card. I think she didn't "have good chemistry" with Dr. Garza because the Doc saw through her immediately and told her so. Ceceilia said as much after the first appointment! And, I don't know if that's what narcissists do, but sheh's manipulating Art with mixed messages: asking him to treat her like one of his patients and then damning him for doing so!

He needs a life partner who shares his dedication to saving lives. Yep! And he thinks that's Regina. He wasted NO time declaring himself after Pamela made him realize Miss Roots is hopeless and he needs to take care of himself!

Ana's got such a bug up her anal cavity about Diego that her treatment of him as a non-entity should be grounds for a serious reprimand.

Good one!!! You said it, Urban! That was so much more hostile than the whole bitching about needing help thing. Gonzalo would NOT stand for that for one second. I can't describe her mean and nasty scenes! David, if you ever did before, please don't let her put her lips on yours!!

COMO TÚ NO HAY 2

Maggie, thank you for your comments, We are always going to have different opinions and I have no more “wisdom” than you or next viewer. It all comes down to taste and I appreciate your point of view. I do agree that the acting has been definitely first class. The portrayal of Felix along with the other tangential characters was incredibly nuanced. All in all, CTNH2 has been better than I ever expected. Don’t be a stranger on the patio! You and your opinions are always welcome.

JudyB, I have never had O’Douls but will give it a try. Thanks!

Steve, it was pretty weird they all just watched Ric bleeding out, Seems to be a pretty common occurrence in novelas but still weird.

Somewhat O/T

In a previous post about older actors working until the end, we must remember Joaquin Cordero, who left this mortal coil shortly after wrapping up FELS and Pedro Armendariz, Jr. who died a week or so after LFDD was completed. Ignacio Lopez Tarso is still with us. He even performed on stage last year. He underwent serious surgery in 2016. A tough old bird!

Somewhat O/T

Thanks for this information, Urban! I looked up their images and remember them both. I did watch FELS, though. Seeing their younger pictures is surreal and somehow, comforting. May they rest in Paradise!

MEDICOS

Apologies for my lateness!

Power outage had us in the dark most of yesterday and am just now catching up with Caray and with (ack) work.

Lila, spectacular!

You set the stage and the tone so masterfully – “Cue quietly plaintive acoustic guitar”, “conversation interruptus” and “Cue light, tinkly music” were but several examples.

"Our happy ingénue, Daniel, enters the coffee shop and confronts what we knew would happen: Tania and Rafa hungrily and deeply kissing right at the counter in front of anyone who isn’t blind". This was so vivid it made me relive Daniel's heartache once again.

“You’ve already seen me in action,” he replies suggestively" made me smile. I agree with mi amiga Judy that I was also highly impressed with Rafa's acrobatic prowess!

"Cinthia cocks her head a little, as if to adjust her view of him" - it was if she saw right through him! Sadly, though, that wasn't quite the case "...you're a very strange case because when you talk like this, it’s as if you actually have a heart!" Maybe but he's still a dog Cinthia. And I do hope Daniel sings so she won't get involved with Rafa as his personal life is in shambles. Tania is the least of it.

"Pamela touches his shoulder and Art’s face dawns with a new realization". I like Pamela and hope Art listens and dumps Cece.

David'a an angry young man. But shouldn't Regina recognize there is some hidden reason for his carrying on?

Daniel and Lily? I don't know but I will keep an open mind.

"Art looks steadily into Regina’s eyes. Regina herself seems to be in suspended animation". Art is dreamy. No doubt about it.

Ignacio Lopez Tarso is always a sight for sore eyes. He played Victoria Ruffo's father in La Malquerida and been in other TNs I've been fortunate to see.

I hope Daniel doesn't arrive home to his parents throwing a "Daniel finally gets a date" party. Their hearts are in the right place but they need to keep their coddling and advice to a minimum.

Wonderful Lila - thank you.

Diana

MEDICOS

Diana! So glad you got your power back! Power outages can be so annoying and inconvenient! I hope you are feeling well, also.

I missed you and appreciate your reading my novelette!

Diana, it hurt but he took it better than I thought. Diana, what do you think about what Judy and I said about Tania and Daniel's responsibility for his own broken heart?

Yah, Art is dreamy though in that final scene he seemed to have something of a "please pet me" puppy dog look about him? Can't wait to see what Regina's reaction is going to be. She had just earlier in the day confided in Cinthia that David lately had been acting very concerned for her and she was surprised by that. Now, she's got a double surprise!

OH NO! Daniel's parents probably WILL throw Daniel a party: I didn't think of that! Poor kid!

Médicos

Thanks Lila!! About the phrases you asked about :

“Yo se que no es nada más por este caso”
You and I are having problems and I know it’s not just because of this (medical) case

“No quisiera que después de todo lo que a pasado como que se empiece a distanciar”
After everything that’s happened, I don’t want him to start to distancing himself

It looks like she realizes that they’re starting to get closer.. they had that scene in the break room where David was super sweet and even though we didn’t see it, there was another cute scene with them..

I’m kind of confused about what they’re trying to do with the David character... he’s been described as “impulsive” since day 1, and yes he can have a temper, but I had not gotten the impression that he was VIOLENT. When he hit Sergio, I thought it was justified, but at the hospital when David was throwing everything off the desk I was like, woah what in the world?! We were starting to see a different side of David being super sweet with Regina, but now he is always angry and even said he should distance himself from Regina. I’m bummed! I love David, I hope they don’t ruin the character!

MEDICOS

Muchisimas gracias, UnOp! for help with those phrases. I thought that's what it meant, wasn't sure! That's very helpful!

UnOp, I'm with you on David. I don't think they're going to ruin the character, but if we get edited versions of the actions, it could ruin him for us. Impulsivity is a part of David's personality: Regina knows it and acknowledges his visceral, gut reaction as valuable in emergency/trauma medicine where one has to act fast. I guess I wasn't as bothered by his flinging the papers. Once Regina got him out of the staff area alone, she was able to explain to him basically, [not her exact words] "if you care about me, help me. I know how to handle Sergio; you trying to defend me against him or wanting to prove you're not afraid of him does NOT help, but rather hurts my case, and hurts me!" He got the message. She also was basically asking him, not to distance himself from HER but from Sergio and his beef with Regina.

There. You're welcome! A little group therapy for Lovers of David!

Art, of course, is going to throw a monkey wrench in everything, because there was no appeal not to mix it up with Art, who's going to try to go all in for Regina. Yeah, Cecelia is a black-rooted, manipulative nag, but he is still in a relationship with her and is being dishonest with her in trying to make a play for Regina. He's fine, but I don't like that, and I don't want him with Regina. I hope they don't write in a long, doomed-to fail relationship with Art before David gets third place with her at the end. That would feel cheap.

MEDICOS

While Daniel seems to possess a nuturing nature and overt intelligence as a doctor, his social skllz are sadly underdeveloped.

He acted like a love struck teenager and mistook Tania's flirting as interest. He has to take some responsibility Lila. While I don't think she meant to be malicious, Tania acted like a woman who knows her allure as she used it to full advantage to get Daniel to do her work for her. It is worth her while to keep him entranced and therefore susceptible to her charms.

She played you Daniel, not intending to be cruel. Take it as the hard lesson it was. and learn from it.

I'm also hoping David doesn't become second choice if Regina does get together with Art. And he should break up with Cece, no question. I wish she would muster her dignity and dump him first.

Diana

AAaaaaahhh! Diana, That is as fine a piece of prose and character analysis as I have every read on this blog! If there were character summaries written for our players and their relationships with each other, THIS would describe what happened between Tania and Daniel!

He acted like a love struck teenager and mistook Tania's flirting as interest. He has to take some responsibility. . .

He's hurting now, and angry, but I hope he learns the lesson you outlined so beautifully. Alas, he hasn't learned it yet, that's why he's acting cold toward Tania, to punish HER for hurting HIM; he doesn't see his role yet. Somehow or somebody will help him see. I know this is a secondary character, but this storyline is interesting. We've seen it play out in real life. Let's see how his parents help him to process it!

Thanks, Diana!

MEDICOS
Hola, chula amiga. This episode confused me, but with your skill and the insight provided by the commenters, it's all a little clearer. Thank you.

Reggie is confused by David's behavior? Please, he's been this way since before the tn opened. We don't know his backstory--maybe the writers are still creating one. Something has obviously hurt him deeply. But hasn't he lived through 10 years of Reggie's marriage to Sergio? It was all hunky-dory with Sergio until Reg walked in on the naked threesome in HER bed.

David says no, but could there be a little bit of envy that Reg was given the post as Head of Emergency? They still live in a somewhat macho environment and maybe his pride was wounded. Maybe he thought he deserved the post. Reg certainly doesn't have the experience that Gonzo had. Everyone trusted him, a father/grandfather figure with oodles of experience. And here comes a young, attractive WOMAN to take his place.

We just don't know enough about him other than he thinks outside the box, is impulsive, quick temper and leads with his voice and his fists. He may have been secretly in love with her all these years and now that she's available, he's at a loss as to what to do next.

In a way he's a little like Daniel. His peeeple skilllls are underdeveloped. He doesn't know how to relate to Reg and her stance is to keep everything the way it was--no outside work relation, not even drinks regularly after work. Strictly professional.

It would be nice to know if David has had any serious relationship ever, or at some point during the last 10 years. We have been introduced to the other male and female important characters' backstories. Why not David's? He's a mystery to us.

Médicos

Thanks for the David lovers group therapy Lila! Lol

You’re right Anita, we don’t know anything about David’s backstory. I hope that’s because it’s going to come out later and not because they didn’t write one.. now that I think about it, the only other person we don’t know anything about is Ana (have we ever seen her outside the hospital??). Maybe there’s more to the David & Ana story than just a casual fling..

Medicos

As in real life, sometimes guys who try to protect someone are the ones who get blamed for stepping in and not minding their own business . I have seen this happen firsthand.

It seems that both David and Art have been secretly carrying a torch for the lovely and talented Reg who must have only had eyes for Sergio who evident!y was hiding his true nature from her for many years . People can wear a mask for a long time. I would like to see David and Reg end up with a happily ever after .

MEDICOS

Anitita!! Hola, corazon! You bring up an interesting point:

David says no, but could there be a little bit of envy that Reg was given the post as Head of Emergency?

You know, I think that's possible! He has said so many times "YOU are the Chief of the ER!" Maybe that's part of it! And in terms of Regina's surprise about David's feelings, I think she really DID love Sergio and really IS shocked by his freaky-deaky behavior, even just once, and now the violence and taunting and stalking. She has said so many times, "I never knew him!" So, until he became Freaky McFreakmeister, she was totally in love with Sergio and only had eyes for him. I believe this is true: He may have been secretly in love with her all these years and now that she's available, he's at a loss as to what to do next. BUT, I think between the demands of the ER and her happy home life, she never saw David in that light.

Maybe Dave's just been keeping the plumbing clear with serial Random Chicks and saving his heart for Regina?

UnOp! We're ride or die for David!

Susanlynn! I hadn't even read your comment when I wrote mine! We're on the same wavelength, Girl! We even used some of the same words! That's funny! Amen to everything you said!

I guess Regina just got it goin' on!

Medicos. "Keeping the plumbing clear," Lila. That's hilarious!

MEDICOS
I agree--Regina never saw David, nor Art as a possible low level flirtation or affair. She thought she had a solid marriage up until the threesome. The only thing missing from the perfect relationship was children. I can't remember who or when it was revealed, but it was early (or maybe a different tn!) where one was ready for children and the other wasn't.

SpanProf--The plumbing comment was hilarious. I'm sending Lila's Latest to RGV for our Sidebar, which is now a thread all its own.

MEDICOS

Very observant that David also has "underdeveloped peeple skills" Anita.

I do think that if David does harbor any resentment toward Regina getting the promotion over him, it is unbidden. He seems fair but let's face it, the lad is more than a tad self righteous.

And yes, Regina did want children but Sergio didn't. Can't remember how that was revealed though. And yes Susanlynn, Regina had eyes only for Sergio.

Yes, "Maybe Dave's just been keeping the plumbing clear" was great Lila. You continue to outdo yourself!! :)

Diana

MEDICOS

The only ones we have decent backstories on are Daniel, Cinthia, Pamela, and Marco because we've met their parents. We know that Regina was a student of Gonzalo's and was married to Sergio for 10 years. I would not put it past the writers to have begun with a blank slate on David, Arturo, Ana, and a few less-important characters. I really think this is a bad thing.

Médicos

Thanks, Lila. Late to the party. Fab recap.

I'm so glad Daniel finally saw Tania in action with Rafa. Diana, your analysis of Tania is spot-on. She didn't set out to hurt Daniel, but it would help me give her a pass if I see her actually help him do something rather than use him to do her work or feed her ego.

Too bad they are cutting scenes because David is coming off too angry and impatient. Goodness, Regina was with Sergio for 10 years - give her a chance to decompress.

How is Art going to be able to break up with Cynthia? Not easily. They both need couple's exit therapy because she's gonna hang on with her chinny chin chin.

You guys are on fire! Yah, rock the Patio!

Thanks, Niecie! I can't wait to see Regina's reaction to Art. He's another one that needs to let her decompress! Jeezopete! My girl didn't even get a couple of mental health days off after she caught her husband doing the freak-nasty all up in her marriage bed! Ok, they've got to keep the story moving.

It's going to be good tonight!

I checked the on-line cable guide and everything is ship shape. Medicos will have a 1 hr. episode on Thursday and a 2 hr. episode on Friday.

I can't be sure whether having your DVR set for the 9 o'clock hour showing Amor Eterno means it won't record Medicos--so check back during the day on Friday.

Thank you, Anita! I will check Fri and Monday. As of today, still showing Amor Eterno!
Hope its just a Guide glitch!

Medicos . Thank you Anita.
Let’s hope our guides change by Fri or Monday. .i think its an xfinity glitch but very annoying.
My DVR is also not showing Dulce Ambición starting Aug 31 either,
