Cennet #99 part 1

I had blinking captions last night. I hope I got it right. Please let me know.

Everyone is certain Kaya is the shooter. Mahir says Kaya ruined Arzu’s life; he never stopped chasing her. The police show up and Mahir points to Kaya and says take him, he shot my wife. Kaya denies it and says Cennet was there, she is my witness. Reluctantly, Cennet must admit, no fue el. Doesn’t really matter to Mahir; he vows Kaya will pay for everything. Melisa swears she will kill Kaya. Selim holds her back from attacking.

The vigil continues at the hospital. The doctor comes out and says the surgery was a success and they expect a full recovery. Arzu wakes up and sees Cennet sleeping by her bedside. She touches her head and wakes her. They are smiling at each other. Melisa opens the door and sees this. She closes the door and runs to Selim for comfort. He doesn’t look happy.

It’s 2 days later and Arzu is home. She’s surrounded by Cennet and Melisa and Sema is lurking and smirking in the background. Sema starts in. Mama please, says Mahir. She can’t wait to speak. It’s now or never. Arzu already gave her testimony; she didn’t’ see the shooter. Sema presses and thinks it’s Kaya. Arzu says no. Mahir asks Arzu if she has any idea who it could have been. No answer.

Cihan and his man are plotting something. It won’t be easy; they will need luck. Cihan has faith in his best man to get the job done.

Kaya is in a jail cell. The guard says they will take his statement and let him go. Kaya crosses paths with his guy who was with him at the shooting. He told the police Kaya is innocent. The shooter is dead. Kaya says to his guy, tell Arzu I will take care of everything.

You risked your life for me, says Cennet. Arzu replies, I’d give my life for you don’t doubt it. Let’s not look back. We must get on with our lives. We need to enjoy the days we have together. Arzu says she thought she heard Cennet call her mother on the day of the incident. Cennet says maybe she did. Melisa overhears, comes in the room and tells Arzu, if you wanted her to call you mother, you shouldn’t have abandoned her. Seeing and hearing this makes Melisa feel like vomiting.

Cennet steps to Melisa and they start to argue. Cennet won’t believe Melisa anymore. Melisa says Cennet is trying to make her look bad in front of her mother. Cennet says Arzu is her mother, too. Stop fighting says Arzu.

Melisa crosses the line and says, you are an idiot if you think Selim could love you. Cennet delivers a cachetada and a ¡qué vergüenza! Selim was playing you, Melisa. He did it to show your true face. Melisa asks, what are you talking about? Cennet fills her in. Do you think Selim would be with someone like you? You are a bad person. And you’re an idiot if you can’t see it. Melisa stops Cennet from leaving. Cennet explains, Selim told me his plan. He went to you and you forgot all about our sisterhood. He loves me. I’m sorry but I had to know. Cennet leaves a devastated Melisa. Wow, Arzu has listened silently to this entire exchange.

Arzu says she’s going to her room. Melisa cries, you’re going to leave me here to suffer? Yes, you should be alone for a while to think about what you have done, or it may be too late. Reflect on your actions. You must pay for all the evil you have done. And you mother? Arzu says she can’t change the past, but she will take advantage of the time she has to change what she can. She gives Melisa a kiss and goes.

Cennet #99 part 2

If it wasn’t Kaya then who, asks Mukaddes? Arzu has sent Cennet home with security. Mukaddes thinks this is good. Cennet recalls the shooting; it was horrible. She wants to move on from the past. She understands her mother now and says, I try to put myself in her shoes. Cennet is tired and all she wants is to live in peace.

Nilgun and Selim are at home. He didn’t sleep well. They talk about the shooting. Selim is still thinking it’s Kaya. Pinar comes in. Did you speak with Halil? No, his phone is off. Something is going on, Pinar. If you speak with Halil, ask him what he knows about Cihan. There’s something with him. Pinar will try.

Melisa shows up screaming for Selim. What’s up Melisa? Selim, we have to talk. She grabs his hand and launches into a rant, what you said last night, was it a lie? Cennet’s just jealous, right? She told me you were playing with me and called me an idiot. Is Cennet lying? What are you going to do about it? She won’t leave us alone. He lets go of her hand. Cennet told the truth. That’s right. You were my best friend from childhood. But you said you loved me, Selim. Selim says, I’ve never loved you, I will never love you. It’s impossible. He leaves her crying.

Arzu shows up at Cihan’s. She asks her driver to give her his gun and tells him to wait for her out here. He argues with her, but she insists. Arzu enters the house and points the gun at Cihan, who is playing piano. Is that Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata? You tried to kill Cennet! Of course, he denies everything.

She moves to the desk and shows him the laptop. The pictures are still there. Cihan gets up from the piano. He says Kaya was there. (I suppose that meant he was after Kaya) Arzu is not buying this. She insists to know why he wanted to kill Cennet. You fooled me, says Arzu, you said you were not like Kaya. Cihan says, forgive me the objective was Kaya. He had confessed everything and I went crazy and ordered the hit. Cihan tries to reassure Arzu, I will never hurt you. Please sit, we need to speak.

Melisa is sitting in her car in front of Selim’s house. Nilgun appears and asks her to get out of the car. Better you should give up because Selim never loved you. Melisa says, I loved him more than anything. I’ve loved him all my life. Melisa, he doesn’t love you so learn to forget him. Stay away from him. You and Cennet should forget my son and leave him alone. Neither of you are worthy of him and you don’t deserve him. Melisa drives away and Nilgun says both girls are crazy. They do not want to leave my son alone. We’ll see.

Arzu tells Cihan if it was it an accident, prove it to me! Cihan says he’s sorry, he wishes he could prove it but he can’t. if you think I’m lying, then shoot me. Arzu says, you are going to stay away from my family that’s all I want. Cihan states his innocence again. Another lie. Tell the truth! Confess! The gun is to his forehead.

Melisa is driving recklessly. She hits a guy who ran out into the street. I believe that’s Cihan’s guy watching from a distance. I guess luck was on their side.

Cihan answers Arzu, I only wanted to kill Kaya. I had a guy following him. It was a coincidence that you and Cennet were there. Just then Arzu gets a call from Melisa. Mama, I ran over a man. Call an ambulance, Melisa, call an ambulance! Melisa is too hysterical; she can’t do it. He’s dead, he’s dead! Please come quick! Ok Melisa, calm down; I’ll be there in a minute. Send me the location. Melisa pleads with the man, please open your eyes. Open your eyes. She gets back in the car. Cihan’s man is still watching.

Arzu reluctantly leaves Cihan. She shouts to her driver we have to get Melisa. Cihan runs after her. He wants to help. Let me help. I think he says he can help keep this quiet. She stupidly accepts Cihan’s offer and tells her driver to go back to the house.

Cennet #99 part 3

Selim goes to Cennet. How are you? Not good; what you did was the last straw. Selim says, you forced me. I did what I had to do. Selim, you played with Melisa. You are not the Selim I knew. You broke a heart that loves you, says Cennet-who-never-learns (thanks, Juanita!) Selim asks Cennet, was I supposed to ignore all the evil that was done? What about me and my feelings? You know I’m always there for you and despite that I get hurt. Melisa and you deserved it. Cennet says she's sorry. Ok then, but now you have to think about who you want in your life, says Selim. He’s tired. Selim, don’t go! He says, it’s too late for us and he walks away.

Melisa is sniveling in the car. Arzu and Cihan arrive. Mama! Arzu and Melisa embrace. Cihan checks and says the guy is dead. But I saw him move slightly. Hmmm.... Melisa is hysterical. I’m done for! My life is ruined. Do something! I don’t want to go to prison! Melisa is at Arzu’s feet. Arzu declares, I was driving. I ran over the man. That’s what I will tell the police.

Halil asks, what’s next? Kaya is looking at pics of Cihan and his best man. Everyone has a secret. He tells Halil to follow Cihan’s man to find out all you can. We must find something to stop Cihan.

Melisa says, Mom I can’t go to prison and you can’t go either. Find another solution. Cihan says there’s something we can do. Was anyone else around? We see Cihan’s man again. Cihan says, it’s only the 4 of us. My men won’t say anything. This accident never happened. We will clean up the scene. Do you agree? Make a quick decision says Cihan. Arzu is struggling with this. She still wants to tell the police she did it.

Cihan says think about it very well. The rich businesswoman ran over a man and killed him. Justice will be sought and there will be a severe punishment. I’ll take care of it, says Cihan. Melisa begs, think of me, think of Cennet don’t do it (don't turn yourself in).

Mukaddes and Suna are making sweet buns. Cennet sits with them. Cennet admits she’s been stupid, she doesn’t know what to do. Mukaddes reminds Cennet Melisa is a bad and can’t be trusted. Cennet wanted to trust her sister. Things can never be the same for them. She feels bad for Selim. Suna says, If you love Selim then fight for him. Cennet thinks he will never forgive her. Suna insists she try. Mukaddes agrees with Suna, look for Selim and talk to him.

Back home, Melisa says forgive me mom. Arzu assures her it’s not her fault. He jumped out. It was an accident. Melisa says, if it wasn’t for Cihan our lives would be ruined. Arzu says try to stay calm to avoid suspiciion. Melisa leaves the room. Cihan sends Arzu a video. It’s a video of the accident! His message to Arzu: I’m waiting for you at home.

And we’re out.

Many thanks, dondi356, for this wonderful recap. How you manage to do these even when there are no captions or, in this case, blinking captions, I don't know, but I'm very glad you can.

Apparently telenovela justice practices seem to work in Turkey as they do in Latin America. A witness says that Kaya was not the shooter, but that doesn't stop the police from arresting him. Oh well, Kaya is not exactly deserving of sympathy, and he doesn't stay behind bars for very long.

Telenovela medicine, too, seems to flourish in Turkey. Arzu is shot in the chest, a transfusion is needed, surgery is performed, and two days later she's at home with a wound that doesn't hurt more than getting a flu shot.

When some guy tells Cennet that Arzu ordered him to give her a ride home, I feared the guy was one of Cihan's men, and that Cihan was still intent on somehow hurting or even killing Cennet. I tried to warn Cennet through my TV not to go with him, but she went anyway. I was amazed when she got home safely and reported that Arzu had indeed ordered the guy to give her a ride home.

The minute Melisa got into the car after speakiing with Nilgun, I was sure she'd have some kind of accident. She was much too upset to drive safely. On a telenovela, that's almost as good a predictor of an accident as female nausea is for pregnancy.
But the accident itself was a little strange. It almost looked as if the guy deliberately stepped in front of the car. I also kept wondering why Melisa didn't see the other white car that seemed to be parked not all that far away. If the guy in that car could see Melisa and the accident, why couldn't she see him or at least his car? And why was he parked there to begin with? That made me even more suspicious of the so-called "accident." And I too thought I saw his hand move as Cihan was declaring that the guy seems to be dead. So I wasn't at all surprised that Arzu receives a video of Melisa and the "accident."

BTW, yes, I think Cihan is playing Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata." Normally, that would make me think that he's really a good guy. But....

I'll try to put up some kind of recap tonight. Also, it looks as if there may be the same schedule changes this Thursday because of the convention. If so, I will not be able to do a recap on Thursday. Are you willing to switch again, with you doing Thursday and I'll do Friday?
 

Cennet - ep. #100 - p. 1 de 3

Cihan comes to see the young man who was hit by Melisa's car. He's lying in bed, unconscious. Cihan asks someone, presumably a doctor, whether the guy will survive. He's given the usual telenovela answer: if he makes it through the night, we'll know more. Cihan then thanks the unconscious guy, saying that they'll make sure his family is well taken care of.

Arzu comes down the stairs and tells Mahir that Melisa is asleep and she is going out. Mahir asks her where she's going. What do you care? she asks, as she looks at Ozlem and Sema sitting at the table. "Enjoy your family time together," she says as she goes out the door. Sema then makes it clear (again) to Ozlem that "family" will apply to her only if the DNA results show Mahir is the father of her unborn child. And we should know very soon, Sema adds. The doctor expects the results tomorrow. Ozlem chokes upon hearing this.

Mahir goes outside to catch up with Arzu before she leaves. He tells her that he knows he messed up, that he should have left the house as soon as Ozlem entered. Arzu tells him she's tired of fighting. "I need someone who will support and comfort me. And you're not that person. You never were there for me." Mahir pleads for another chance. Arzu tells him he's had plenty of other chances--"20 long and stupid years." Mahir says he now understands her, and he wants to be the man she can trust. He says they could give everything to Sema and Orhan and then go away. Arzu says they'd never let us go. "We don't need their permission," replies Mahir. "I will be the man you deserve."

Halil reports to Kaya that one of Cihan's men goes out every morning and returns within an hour. Kaya tells Halil to follow him next time and find out where he goes. Kaya then asks where Halil's son Sadiq is; Kaya has tried to reach him without success. Halil says that Sadiq is out of town, visiting a sick uncle. Kaya wants Halil to notify him as soon as Sadiq is back. He has a job for him. After Halil leaves, Kaya takes out a photo of Cihan and muses, "Ah, Cihan, you can't even get revenge properly. I won't let you hurt my daughter or the woman I love."

Arzu arrives at Cihan's. Cihan welcomes her and puts out his hand, expecting she will shake it. She doesn't. She tells him she doesn't like threats. He says what he has in mind is not a threat, it's a proposal. He admits that he lied to her. He said he wouldn't use her or her daughter to get his revenge. He lied. Arzu replies, "Kill me. I'm the only one Kaya loves. Why are you using Melisa? Men like you make me sick. You're heartless and merciless." He explains that there are two ways he can get revenge: he can kill the target's loved ones, or "you will leave Mahir and marry me. We will be legally married, but I'm not interested sexually." A stunned Arzu asks in disbelief, "Are you serious?" Cihan replies, "I know you're shocked. You have until tomorrow to decide." An enraged Arzu asks, "How can you be so vile?" She pulls the tablecloth off the table, with all the plates and food falling to the ground, and she storms off.

Sema is totally opposed to Mahir's leaving. Melisa overhears and asks whether the police are coming for her. Sema and Mahir want to know why she's asking such a question. What has she done? Mahir tells her to go pack her things. Sema tells him she forbids him to leave the house.

Cennet comes to see Selim. She apologizes to him, tells him she was stupid, and says she'll do anything for his love. A stubborn Selim insists that he gave her plenty of opportunities. It's too late. "Selim, I love you." A long pause. "It's very late," replies Selim. He goes back inside his house.

Halil approaches Arzu as she gets out of the car. He tells her Kaya has a plan. She says she wants nothing to do with any plan of Kaya's. "You got your money," she tells Halil. "Now go, and don't come near me again." Sema overhears the conversation, but she didn't get a good look at who Arzu was talking to. "What's going on?" Sema wants to know. "Nothing important," replies Arzu. Sema insists, "You had something to do with Riza's death.I feel it in my heart. Sooner or later, everyone will know about it." "I'm tired," replies Arzu, and turns to go inside. "Don't you dare leave with my son tomorrow," says Sema. "If you do, I'll make your life a living hell."

Following Kaya's orders, Halil has spent the night in his car so he can follow Cihan's man when he leaves. Sure enough, a white car pulls out of the driveway. Halil follows.

Melisa is packing. Arzu comes into the room. "Are you upset with me?" Melisa asks. "Never," answers Arzu. "I'm an assassin, mother." "It was an accident, Melisa." Melisa says she just wants to get away and forget what happened. Arzu says, "You're going away." "Are we going together?" Melisa asks. When Arzu says no, Melisa says she's not going to go, either. "I can't go without my mother!" Arzu explains, "You have to go, Melisa, because Cihan is threatening me. He has a video of the accident. He's threatening you and Cennet." Melisa asks what Cihan wants in exchange. "He wants me to divorce Mahir and marry him."

Cihan has come again to see the young man who had the "accident." He's now conscious. Cihan tells him, "Now get well. Thanks to you, I've had a great victory."

Halil follows the white car until it arrives at a cemetary. The guy gets out of the car carrying a bouquet of flowers and enters the cemetary. Halil calls Kaya to report. Kaya instructs him to find out who the guy was coming to see.

Cennet is giving herself a pep talk. "I have to do this. I must get up my courage." She goes to Selim's house and knocks at the door. Nilgun opens the door. Cennet asks to speak to Selim. Nilgun tells her to go away and not come back. "If I see you near here, I'll kill you!" Pinar offers to help make Cennet leave. Nilgun takes her up on her offer. After Nilgun leaves, Pinar tells Cennet that Selim is not at home. "Do you know where he is?" asks Cennet. Pinar hesitates and then says, "Promise me that Nilgun won't know."

Selim is down by the water, looking at a yacht. He tells the man in charge that he wants to go on a trip.

Halil asks a cemetary worker about the man who was there recently carrying a bouquet of flowers. He's told to come back tomorrow and ask the man himself. Halil takes out his pistol and places it against the guy's head. "I'm asking you," Halil says.

Sema insists that no one is leaving. She threatens to jump out the window if they try to leave. Melisa then tells her father that they're not going. Arzu pleads with Melisa to leave. Melisa demands that Arzu accept the proposal. Mahir is understandably quite confused. Melisa asks him to leave her alone to talk to Arzu. Once Melisa and Arzu are alone, Melisa asks, "You weren't serious, were you?" "Yes, I was," replies Arzu. "You've got to marry Cihan. If we leave, he'll release the video, and I'll be a fugitive no matter where I go." Melisa then makes it clear what the real issue is: "You took a bullet for Cennet. Now it's my turn. Do it for me."

Halil's holding a pistol to the cemetary worker's head proves persuasive. The man takes him to the tomb the man had been visiting: Leyla Kocaoglu 1977-2002.
Suddenly someone apparently comes up behind Halil and knocks him unconscious.

Cennet gets on the boat Selim has apparently hired just as it leaves. When Selim sees her, he tells her he's going to turn the boat around and take her back. She asks him to listen to her first. Eventually, he gives in and reluctantly grants her five minutes. Cennet talks about their friendship as young children, and then his being adopted and leaving her. And then meeting him again, as a young man. "I thought you'd never love me," she tells him. "I wanted to jump into your arms, but I couldn't. I chose to believe my sister. You were lucky to be adopted. You had a mother and father. I had only my grandmother, who was very old. I worried what would happen when she was no longer here. I kept thinking I attracted bad luck. I wanted to have a family with you, but I couldn't betray what I thought was my family. But I love you with all my heart."

Arzu arrives at Cihan's. "Apparently you've decided," he says. "Yes," she replies. "What is your decision?" It seems her decision is to wait until the next episode.

Kaya is rather borring now. Arzu is never going to love the man that raped. It appears shes never gonna kill him either. She can't seem to pull the trigger after threatening to kill someone.

Mukaddas, what a stronge tower she is. I like that granny. Arzu should have stayed with her and raised cennet, then maybe she would not have been saddle with melisa the princessa of whinnyness, youre my mother not cennets, dont leave me,
You do I'll die. Marry cihan for me

And take her far,far,far,far away.

Thank you, Juanita for another marvelous recap! I’m still having caption issues and it was very helpful in clarifying details without having to re-watch scenes.

It’s confirmed that the “accident” was a set up. How ridiculous but typical for this show. No wonder Cihan’s man, Tufan, said they would need luck to get this done! That fellow must have been in dire straits to agree to sacrifice himself in such a way.

I'm wondering how Tufan going to the cemetery every day to visit Leyla Kocaoglu is important. Leyla was Cihan’s wife, no?

Nilgun is back to her crazy ways. This is how she behaved earlier in the show. Cennet-who-never-learns better steer clear.

How long will Selim keep Cennet hanging? Will the boat ride do the trick?

Melisa. I can’t. I just can’t. How can she be redeemed?

I’m sure stupid Arzu is going to agree to Cihan’s “proposal.” The cure for Kaya is worse than she could have imagined. Kaya’s reaction should be interesting.

I’m waiting for Arzu to be exposed regarding Riza’s death. It’s amazing that there have been so many kidnappings, assaults, murders (attempted or committed) and other assorted criminal acts that have been covered up and remain unpunished.

I can do Wednesday and Thursday recaps.

Nina, I agree, there are relatively few really likeable characters in this novela. Certainly Mukaddes is one of the few.

dondi356, yes, it now seems absolutely clear that this was no "accident." Perhaps the young man comes from a very poor family, and he was desperate enough to sacrifice himself. (If that's the case, he's a lot more worthy than most of the other characters in this novela!) And I agree--Arzu is likely to agree to Cihan's "proposal" in order to save her daughters. I doubt, though, that she will have to go through with it.

dondi, you raise an interesting question about Tufan's daily trips to the cemetary. I at first assumed that he was simply doing what his boss asked him to do. But if Cihan truly loved his wife, one would imagine that he'd want to go himself. Hmmm....

Also, thanks VERY much for agreeing to switch recap days with me.

Cennet #101 part 1

So, what is your decision, Arzu? Acepto. I’ll marry you, says Arzu with a sneer. Cihan nods in satisfaction.

Selim says, why didn’t you tell me sooner? Cennet says, I thought you’d stop loving me. What should we do now, asks Selim? Cennet wants to start over. She says, let’s change roles; it’s my turn now. He recalls that moment, but she shushes him, tells him not to ruin it. Cennet starts, look into my eyes. I’ve never felt like this. I adore you. Selim says he doesn’t believe it. Perfect, says Cennet, do you believe now? She takes off her shoes. Selim asks, what’s going on? Cennet climbs the boat railing and says, you still don’t believe me? Not yet…jump if you want. Just as she is about to let go, he grabs her and takes her down. I believe in us, says Selim. (Yes, this happened in reversed roles back in the early episodes)

Melisa is outside the police station. She has a flashback and we see this for the first time. Melisa calls, Mom, wait! Don’t go. I was only testing you. I didn’t think you’d do it. You risked your life for Cennet; I didn’t know if you would do the same for me. Arzu says with a bit of disgust, it doesn’t matter, Melisa. Melisa says, you can’t go. If he’s threatening you, let’s see how brave he is. Arzu will not allow this. Melisa declares, for the first time in my life, I will pay for my mistakes! ( Wow,I have captions tonight, but did I see and hear correctly?!? Anyway, I still can’t stand Melisa.) Melisa continues, you don’t have to protect me. Let’s see if he follows through with his threats. No way, says Arzu, I will always do what I can for you and your sister (no matter how misguided it is, I say). Melisa begs but Arzu goes off to Cihan.

Back to the present. Melisa steels herself and enters the station. I have to report an accident. A man died; it happened yesterday. Do you have the plate, do you know who was driving? Yes, gulps Melisa, I was the one who killed the man.

All is good with Cennet and Selim. They are heading back to shore. He says, what if we don’t go back? Cennet can’t leave Mukaddes. Selim is her priority, but she has a soft spot for abuela. Selim understands. (What a guy!)

Cihan gives Arzu her orders. You will file for divorce tomorrow and speed it up. We will marry this weekend. He will handle everything.

Back on shore, Selim tells Cennet he won’t take his luggage off the boat. He will come back and take that long trip, but this time he won’t be going alone. Cennet will be with him as his wife. Cihan is walking Arzu out. He says have Mahir sign the papers tomorrow and he will take care of the rest. Arzu sets her condition, you will stay away from me and my family. Just then the police roll up at Cihan’s. Melisa jumps out, runs to her mom and points to Cihan, This man! He is the culprit! The officer says, Cihan Kocaoglu, a report has been filed and you have to answer questions. Arzu wants to know what’s going on. Melisa did what she had to do. She will not let Arzu marry this bastard.

Selim takes Cennet home, but he can’t stay. Mukaddes insists on cooking dinner for Selim tonight. He accepts.

Cennet #101 part 2

Melisa starts her rant. I ran him over, but he (Cihan) covered up the accident! Cihan plays dumb. Melisa continues, directing this to Cihan, you have video and you’re threatening my mom! Arzu tries to quiet Melisa. Melisa begs Arzu to tell the truth and back her up. Arzu says she doesn’t know why Melisa is making this up. Cihan asks Arzu to control her daughter. Cihan tells the officer this is ridiculous. Melisa thinks the police should search the garden for the body! She continues ranting and raving and says she’s ready to go to prison. Arzu is looking worried but perhaps also a little proud of Melisa. Cihan is shooting daggers at Arzu.

Arzu says, my daughter is not telling the truth and she apologizes for making them come, Melisa cannot believe this. Melisa keeps trying to get the police to believe her. Arzu insists it not true. Arzu hates to say this but she admits her daughter has serious mental problems! (I admit I enjoyed her saying this out loud) Cihan nods his approval.

Senol calls from the hospital. He tells Ozlem the results are in and he’s working on it (?) The doorbell rings; the report is here! The orders are for delivery to Sema but Ozlem manages to snatch it away. She runs to her room and begs God that Mahir is the father. Sema comes downstairs and the help says Ozlem took the envelope. Sema runs into Ozlem’s room and takes the envelope. She wants to do a reveal with Mahir present.

Tufan has Halil tied up in an abandoned building. Did you send your boss the picture of the grave? No, says Halil. Tufan slaps him and knocks him over.

Arzu and Melisa are driving home. Melisa wants to tell Mahir what’s going on. No way says Arzu. Melisa wants to know about Cihan. Who? What? Why? Where? How? Arzu relates, Cihan is Kaya’s enemy. Kaya killed his wife. Cihan wants revenge. Now Arzu has no choice but to accept. She must do this for the family. You can’t tell your father because Cihan will destroy him. If you love your father, don’t tell him.

Arzu and Melisa arrive home. Mahir asks what’s going on. They will talk inside and they go in the house. Their convo is hijacked by Sema who calls, Mahir is that you? Come to the living room.

We have the DNA results. I wanted you to be here to open them. Arzu and Melisa will also be there for the reveal. Ozlem enters. And the winner is… Sema says nothing, just re-reads the results. Ozlem grabs it and reads. With a big exhale she announces, it’s Mahir’s baby! I told you, see for yourself. I’m carrying your child. Sema looks disappointed. Arzu offers sarcastic congrats to Mahir and BTW, while we are all here, I want a divorce. She wants no argument. Tomorrow they will go to the lawyer and get it done. Arzu leaves. Ozlem says, despite what Melisa did with scheming and the pictures, I told you so. And she leaves, too.

Nilgun is surprised to see Selim. He canceled his trip; things are better than ever he says. He’s going to shower and will go to dinner tonight with some acquaintances. Nilgun senses something is up.

Kaya’s men report they found Halil’s car near the cemetery. Kaya knows something is wrong. Find cameras around the cemetery. Kaya asks, is Cennet ok? They follow her 24/7. Now go find Halil.

Tufan puts a hood on Halil. Halil swears he hasn’t told Kaya a thing. Tufan takes out some knives. Once more he asks Halil, what does your boss know. He stabs Halil in the leg.

Cennet #101 part 3

Dinner at Cennet’s. Nilgun shows up too! What are you doing here? Nilgun says she’s protecting her son; how can you be so shameless? Watch your mouth says Mukaddes. Nilgun subtly accuses Cennet of being after Selim’s money. Selim says that’s enough, let’s go. Nilgun continues, Cennet doesn’t love you, Selim. To Cennet she says, you left him at the altar. You broke his heart and hurt his pride. That can’t be undone. Cennet answers her, if you loved your son so much you’d let him be happy. Nilgun won’t allow them to be together. Selim says I don’t need permission; respect my decision. Nilgun delivers a ridiculous ultimatum: It’s me or Cennet!

Arzu is packing. Melisa comes in and asks, are you leaving? Why do you continue to pester me, Melisa? You know I must do this. Sema is listening and hears Melisa say she killed a man. Sema barges in, Melisa who did you kill?!?

Selim apologizes to Cennet and family and goes out to his mom. Have Pinar pack my things. He’s choosing Cennet? Yes, if my choice is happiness with her or heartbreak with you. When you accept her, you will be back in our lives. This is Nilgun’s worst nightmare.

Sema demands, Melisa who did you kill!? Arzu asks Melisa to leave, she will tell Sema everything after Melisa leaves. Melisa listens at the door. Arzu tells Sema, Melisa ran over a man. The man died. I assure you it was an accident. I considered telling the police I ran him over.

Arzu continues, Cihan Kocaoglu wouldn’t let me do it. He has pics of the accident that could send Melisa to prison. He will never leave us alone. I looked him up. He’s Kaya’s enemy and that’s why he’s using me. Sema, I needed to get rid of Kaya, so I went to Cihan. Cihan tried to exact revenge on all of Kaya’s loved ones. He tried to kill Cennet. I stepped in front. Sema shocks me when she says to Arzu, you poor thing! Why didn’t you tell us? Would you have believed me, Sema?

Arzu goes on, to keep Melisa out of prison, Cihan made an offer, well, more like a threat. He wants me to marry him. If I agree he will stay away from Cennet and Melisa. There’s no other way. Mahir can’t find out. If he doesn’t divorce me, Cihan will kill Mahir! I’m begging you as a mother try to understand. Sema gives Arzu a hug and an understanding nod. What a turn of events!

Nilgun is the topic of conversation at Cennet’s. What kind of mother doesn’t want her son to be happy? (a rhetorical question). The doorbell rings. It’s Melisa barging in and talking crazy. What? Our mother is going to marry that bastard Cihan to protect us!

Arzu is leaving. Sema says, take care. Arzu asks Sema for her blessing. Sema gives it. Arzu returns it. Sema says, let the past stay in the past. Leave it buried. (like Riza? interesting choice of words for Sema) I give my blessing and a blessing on Riza’s behalf. They make peace with each other. Sema says something I thought I would never hear: your daughters are lucky to have a mother like you. What a 180 for Sema! Mahir is watching this.

Kaya’s doorbell rings. Halil? He opens the door. Who is it?

And we are out.

I’m wondering if what Arzu asked of Sema was “hakkini helal et.” And her response would be “Helal olsun.” I’ve seen this in other Turkish shows, especially when someone is possibly saying a final goodbye. It’s sort of along the lines of please forgive me if I have wronged you, intentionally or unintentionally and that you will have no claims against me in the divine court. I suppose it can be translated simply to “give me your blessing” but that doesn’t have the same depth of feeling to me in that translation to Spanish. I’m not Turkish or Muslim so I hope I have this concept correct.

Wow, dondi356, I've used up just about all the words I know to describe your marvelleous, superb, excellent, fantastic, extraordinary, superlative recaps. This one was all of those! :-) I loved your asides, such as "(there’s still time, we have a few episodes to go.)" and "(no matter how misguided it is, I say)." And I greatly appreciated your explaining the "switching roles" conversation between Cennet and Selim. I found the scene rather puzzling, but your saying that something similar but in reversed roles happened in some early episodes cleared things up.

I came to this novela quite late, but even I was astonished at the 180° change in Sema's attitude toward Arzu. Perhaps someone told her that the novela would be ending soon. And perhaps Melisa also got that message?

I wonder whether Senol managed to change what the DNA report said, or even what the evidence was that led to the DNA report. I suspect we haven't heard the last of this.

I'll be interested to see who came to Kaya's door at the end of last night's episode. Given the fact that Cihan hates Kaya and Kaya suspects that something bad has happened to Halil, why in the world did Kaya open the door without checking first to see who was there? That seemed unrealistic to me. (Not that the rest of the novela seems realistic!)

The time stamp on messages sometimes puzzles me, and today I'm scratching my head over the 4:30 PM time stamp on dondi356's post-recap comment, and the 5:12 PM time stamp on my reply to dondi's wonderful recap. There's almost 45 minutes separating dondi's comment from mine, but I didn't see that comment before I posted mine. Very weird.

Let me just say that I'm not Turkish or Muslim either, so I'm not at all able to comment on the nuances of the exchange between Sema and Arzu. But dondi, I do find your comment very interesting and impressive.

I've always disliked those "0 to 180" sudden transformations. After so many episodes, it's difficult to automatically change the way I see certain characters. I'm going to dislike Melisa beyond the end. In my imaginary sequel, she's still a pain to Cennet and Selim and a brat to her family :)

I'm wondering about Senol, too. Did he mess with the results and how will his relationship to Ozlem be revealed and resolved?

I will assume that Kaya has some security around his property now that Cihan is here. Wondering if it's Cennet who shows up at Kaya's. He's the only one who could rescue Arzu now. Fighting fire with fire.

Unrealistic is a good description to use.
