• 9-10PM—Todo Por Mi Hija**
• 10-11PM—Enemigo Íntimo 2

**Todo Por Mi Hija, a Turkish novela, began on Tuesday. It  centers around Oyku, an intelligent and sensitive eight-year-old girl who is raised by her aunt. However, the woman abandons her and only leaves her a letter with the address of Demir Goctúrk, her father whom she never knew. The father is a criminal, a con man with very few skills, but a natural talent for getting into trouble. He never found out that his ex-girlfriend was pregnant with Oyku when they broke up.  Despite being very irresponsible, Demir agrees to take care of his daughter in order not to go to prison.  (That's all I know for now.)

Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation.  Since discussions of all the Telemundo novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post, so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for.

By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Spoilers WILL be removed by the admin. This includes reference to earlier productions of the story, and even the original novel. Thanks for your cooperation!

Hija #3 part 1

Oyku has appeared at Candan’s and she’s got something to say. Hard glare from Demir. Candan says, I’m listening. Just as Oyku starts to spill, Demir pops up, Daughter! What are you doing here? He scoops her up in his arms. He whispers to her, one word and it’s straight to the orphanage.

Candan asks is he really your dad? Yes. Demir wants to know why Oyku followed him there. Doesn’t she realize he’s working? Demir apologizes to Candan. Oyku looks at Demir and Ugur then blurts out, these men… Demir cuts her off and jumps up. He points to Ugur and shouts, this man is a fraud! To Candan he says, don’t sign that paper! He’s lowballing you. Ugur speaks up, Mr. Demir, what are you talking about? Demir says, he tricked me, too! Ugur is desperately trying to stop Demir. But Demir persists, these are not the paintings I was looking for.

Candan is totally confused; she wants an explanation. Oyku interjects again, these men…. Demir tells Oyku not to get involved in adult business. He starts to explain to Candan, when you went to get your pen, this man threatened to hurt my daughter! Candan is ready to call the police. Ugur gets up and approaches Demir. Demir whispers to him, hit me, hit me. Ugur is happy to oblige as this will serve as an exit plan. He slugs Demir, who falls hard, and Ugur gathers his stuff and runs out. On his way out he warns Candan not to call the police or she’ll be sorry. Of course, Candan’s and Oyku’s attentions go to Demir. Wake up, wake up!

Demir comes to. Oyku smiles, she was really worried. Candan wants to call an ambulance; he might have head trauma. No need, he’s ok. Demir asks if that man got away. Yes, he did. She still wants to call the police but Demir tries hard to dissuade her, saying these are dangerous men. Besides we really don’t have any proof to show the police. Best to let it go. She gives in. But Oyku still wants to tell.

Candan thanks Demir for saving her. No thanks necessary. It’s all in the name of art preservation he says. (He can’t even believe he’s saying this BS.) Oyku’s looking at him like he’s crazy. Candan asks for his phone number so they can talk about the paintings another time. Numbers exchanged and Demir quickly drags Oyku out of the house.

Outside, Oyku admonishes her dad, aren’t you ashamed you tried to steal her paintings? You love her but you still wanted to steal her paintings. He blows up, what do you mean love? Very observant Oyku says, you’re in love with her. She sees how he looks at her. Demir strenuously denies it. Don’t talk nonsense! He orders her into the car.

Oyku continues to berate Demir for being a scammer. He counters with, well you scammed her first by reading her fortune! She is unfazed and says she will tell the police if he dares to steal the paintings.

Demir pulls up to his building. All their belongings are out on the steps and Ugur is sitting among them. Ugur starts in, how can you sell out your partner like that? Demir ignores this and wants to know why their stuff is on the street. Well they haven’t paid the landlord in months! Ugur is worried that Candan will still go to the police. Demir assures him she won’t. Oyku takes some papers off a door or a board and stuffs them in her backpack.

Demir turns to Oyku and blames her for everything. They would have had enough money to buy any house they wanted. Ugur says he’s going to his mother’s, but he can’t bring this trouble (meaning Demir and Oyku) to her.

Hija #3 part 2

Oyku tells Demir, I saved you from stealing from the woman you love. Ugur’s jaw drops! Demir shouts, you are still talking about love? Oyku asks where will they go? He says we are not going anywhere, there is no we! Go wherever, to the judge, the police. I’ll go to prison. And Demir takes off in his car with Oyku running after him, crying. Ugur tries to calm her saying, he has a quick temper, but he will get over it soon. I know where he’s going, and I’ll take you to him.

As Ugur and Oyku walk along he tells her she and her dad have things in common. Demir lost his mother when he was little, too. And his father died as well. He was all alone and he was raised in an orphanage. So, he doesn’t know how to act with a child. Nobody was there to teach him. Don’t take him too seriously. Oyku understands.

They find Demir sitting by a canal. Go to your dad, says Ugur. Oyku looks at Demir’s head and asks if it still hurts. He just wants her to leave him alone. She sits next to him and wonders what will she do? She’s just a kid. Demir thinks Oyku is smart enough to take care of herself. He tells her, can’t you see I can’t take care of you? Go to the orphanage. Save yourself before it’s too late, or you will end up like me. Oyku doesn’t agree; she wants to stay with her father. Why? Because he is her dad even if he’s lacking in endearing qualities. So what if we are homeless; we will find a place to stay.

Demir says but I shouted at you and said nasty things. Oyku says she did, too. These things happen between fathers and daughters or so she believes. Demir gets up and starts to walk away. He turns to Oyku and says why are you still sitting? Where are we going? To find a place for the two of us. Oyku bounces up and walks with him.

It’s nighttime and Candan’s doorbell rings. It’s an old friend, Murat. She’s surprised to see him. It’s been a while. He found out her father died. He wants to take her out to dinner so they can catch up. She will get changed and they can go.

Meanwhile, Demir has pitched a tent in a park. Oyku can’t believe they are staying here. Demir says they have no money for a hotel because of her, otherwise they would have stayed in the best hotel. He calls Oyku to come and help set up so he can cook dinner. She assumes he’s done this before since he seems prepared. She asks if he’s always had to figure out things on his own. He avoids answering. She calls him on it, why does he answer her questions with questions? He’s listening now so she asks again, do you always have to figure things out by yourself? Answer is: it’s none of your business. He sends her off to get water.

Murat and Candan are out to dinner. He remembers she likes white wine. He thought this dinner would help cheer her up. He gives condolences again. He hadn’t seen her father in years, and he feels bad for not visiting. He asks how does it feel to be back in your childhood home? She looks uncomfortable, she doesn’t know how to feel. She was just 9 years old when he met her there. She was beautiful then as she is now. He remembers she took in every stray cat and dog.

Candan asks Murat how he’s been? You mean the hospital? It’s a challenge. Sometimes he regrets taking over from his father. He wishes he had gone to America like her brother, Cenk. How is he? Is he coming back? She thinks not, he’s doing fine there. (this likely means he's coming back at some point).

Murat asks about her vet clinic. She’s temporarily closed it due to her current situation. But she will reopen once the estate is settled. Murat says she can count on him for whatever she needs. She knows.

Hija #3 part 3

Demir is cooking some pasta. Oyku is starving and is impatient. She tells him the pasta should not be overcooked. She starts to stir the pot, literally and figuratively. And there goes dinner, the pasta falls to the ground. He blows up, look at what you did! We’re going to starve because of you! Then Demir says something awful: your aunt was right, she left you for a reason.

Oyku has a flashback to that day at the hospital. Oyku overhears the doctor tell Tia the biopsy results were serious. Oyku has a disease that affects the nervous system It’s genetic and rare. She will require special, intensive care from now on. Guessing that’s why she thinks her aunt dumped her.

Back in the present, it starts to rain hard. Demir says the tent is waterproof so get inside. Well, the tent is not waterproof and Demir makes a lousy joke saying the water that came in won’t get out. Oyku wants to go to the car and sleep there. Demir says no, you will get it muddy.

Murat takes Candan home after dinner. He asks if she will make coffee. She can’t drink coffee at this time it will keep her up and she has an early start in the morning. Ok then you owe me a coffee says Murat. He escorts her to the door under an umbrella. She thanks him and bids him good night. (Boy, it seems like he’s determined to get an invite into the house.) He says he doesn’t like leaving her alone in this big house. She assures him nothing will happen. He knows what it is like to be alone. After his divorce, he would get anxious at home alone. She says she will call if she needs anything. She goes in. Hmm…no hug or kiss?

Guess who won the fight to sleep in the car. Oyku wakes up and says she’s late for school! Wake up, you have to take me to school! Where can she get dressed, wash, brush her teeth? Demir doesn’t care. He wants to sleep. She asks for money. He says we would have been rich if it wasn’t for you. She has no money; she gave the last of it for the cab to Candan’s. What will she eat? She gets dressed in the tent and leaves Demir sleeping in the car.

Oyku arrives to school very late. The teacher is concerned because she was also absent yesterday. She takes Oyku out in the hall to talk. Teacher wants to know if there is a problem at home. She hasn’t even combed her hair. Oyku denies any problem. The teacher wants to see her dad as soon as possible. Oyku doesn’t know if he will be able to come. The teacher says it is important that he comes.

Candan is at the cemetery. She wishes her little sister, Seda, a happy birthday. Seda would have been 18. She was only 8 years old when she died. She apologizes to her sister. We get a flashback.

Young Candan is walking along talking on her cell phone and her little sister is following on her bike. It’s time to cross the street; it looks like a main road along the shore. Candan crosses; she’s not paying attention to any traffic or to her sister, who she’s left behind on the sidewalk. The sister calls out several times, but Candan is too busy gossiping on her phone. The sister starts slowly into the street and do I have to say more? Seda is buried alongside her mother and father in the family plot. Present day Candan says, you never forgave me, did you, dad?

Ugur asks Demir where he has been. Demir doesn’t look so good; he’s feeling the effects of sleeping in the car. Ugur feels sorry for Oyku. Demir feels sorry for himself. Demir figures Oyku might eventually want to leave on her own free will. But then Demir admits that Oyku can adapt to anything and she likes to be in charge. Ugur laughs, she gets that from her father. Demir wishes Ugur would stop saying he’s a father.

dondi356

Hija #3 part 4

Demir is starving. He asks Ugur to take him to lunch. Ugur says it’s his lucky day. His mom gave him money to fix the yard and for the bus. Demir bemoans his fate. He’s got a kid to take care of, he’s homeless and he has a 40 year old friend who mooches off his mother. He asks if Ugur has brought what he wanted. Yes. Ugur hands him paperwork from the Social Services and Child Protection Agency.

It’s lunchtime at school and Oyku doesn’t have anything to eat. The boy next to her has extra and he wants to share. She reluctantly accepts. Meantime Oyku’s crayon box accidentally falls to the floor. Bratty Zeynep notices and takes it to the trashcan and breaks the crayons. (I don’t know how no one notices this.) She puts the empty box back on the floor the after she breaks them all.

Oyku is about to eat when she stops. She wants to wrap it up and bring it to her dad. She explains he hasn’t had anything to eat. This boy is so nice, he even offers his drink saying he has money to buy more. And he shares half of his sandwich with her, too.

Demir is in his car. He ate way too much and isn’t feeling well. Oyku bangs on the window and he lets her in. She asks if he has found a place to stay. He says yes, the tent. Oyku informs Demir her teacher wants to see him tomorrow. It’s because she missed school. He doesn’t want to go. Oyku reminds him that the judge said he must take care of her. Demir snaps back to quit reminding him about the judge.

Oyku takes out the sandwich and tells him to take it because he hasn’t eaten since yesterday. No thanks, he isn’t hungry. She insists; don’t be proud, take it or you will starve to death. Not to worry about her, a friend shared his lunch. I think he’s touched by Oyku’s gesture, but he’s also stuffed. She gives him the milk, too. He eats the sandwich and drinks the milk.

During the night Demir wakes up sick. He bolts from the tent and throws up by a tree. Oyku wants to help but he says go away, you poisoned me. She wets his heads to make him feel better. They go back to the tent. She gives him an extra pillow and covers him because he’s trembling. He suddenly passes out. Oyku can’t wake him and she starts to panic.

Oyku calls Candan. Candan says calm down and send me your location. She’ll come right away. Demir wakes and asks Oyku who is she talking to. What? You called Candan? Why? He’s not happy. Demir keeps insisting he’s fine but he really isn’t. Candan shows up. He apologizes that Oyku bothered her. Candan is concerned this might have been due to the blow to the head. Demir said it was probably bad milk.

Candan looks around and asks are you living here? Demir tells her he had big problem with the landlord. Its temporary. She doesn’t understand, he’s an art expert, no? He spins a story about a friend in debt and he helped him out and there was a bankruptcy….

She can sympathize because she had to shut down her own clinic. Candan wants to know about Oyku. No big deal says Demir, she likes camping. Oyku states, no way, I can’t wash; I might get lice. Candan has a bright idea, why don’t you stay with me? Demir says no, Oyku says yes! They argue. Then Demir thinks back to what Ugur said at lunch about finishing the painting scam. Demir thinks this could work out for him after all and takes Candan up on the offer. He’s in no condition to drive so they will take her car. They have the same model car!

Demir says Candan is a good driver but she says men are terrible drivers. Oyku is enjoying their interaction from the back seat. Oyku says she missed Candan and Candan missed her too. They arrive at the house. Demir says it’s weird to be here under these circumstances. His throat hurts. Candan goes to get meds for him. He scopes out some paintings. Oyku warns him, don’t even think about it. He’s so insulted.

dondi356

Hija #3 part 5

Oyku can go up to Candan’s room to get changed. Demir says good night, sweetheart. This thrills Oyku and she flies up the stairs. Candan takes Demir down to his room; it’s her father’s office. Demir mutters, how much money is here? Pardon? says Candan. Uh, your father has great taste. Demir is sorry for the trouble and he appreciates it. After Candan leaves, he checks out stuff in the office.

Candan goes to Oyku. She’s wearing Candan’s favorite pjs. Candan brushes Oyku’s hair. She asks does your dad make enough money? No, and I don’t like his job. Why? Because I want him to take better care of me. It’s late now, so Candan tells Oyku it's time to go to sleep. Oyku asks Candan if she can stay until she falls sleep. Of course. Do you know any fairy tales? Candan asks if she knows the story of Tom Thumb? Once upon a time…

Demir is checking out the main floor of the house. Ah those paintings! He checks out a lamp. Candan comes downstairs and she’s startled to see him there. Uh, he’s looking for the kitchen. Candan tells him it’s across from his room downstairs. Do you need anything else? No, thank you, goodnight again.

Oyku is having a bad dream. She's with her Tia at the hospital. Don’t leave me Tia, please! In her dream Tia walks away from her without a word and leaves her there. She cries, please don't go!

And we are out.

What a marvellous recap, dondi356! You've covered absolutely everything with great clarity and grace. ¡Muchísimas gracias!

Well, apparently you and novelera were right about Oyku's having a health problem. I'm beginning to have second thoughts about this telenovela. The doctor's remarks to Oyku's aunt make me fear that this novela may have a rather tragic ending. I hope I'm wrong. I recall your saying that unhappy endings are not all that uncommon in Turkish novelas.

I guess all telenovelas make abundant use of coincidence, but I still found it a bit much when Oyku decides that the name of Candan's car should be Seda--the name of Candan's sister who died because of Candan's carelessness. Of course, Oyku doesn't know this--she says she chose the name because she had a good friend named Seda where she used to live. But Viewerville has just seen Candan go to the cemetary to visit Seda's grave on her birthday. I was a bit surprised that Candan didn't react more strongly to Oyku's suggested name.

One other thing that struck me in last night's episode is the placement of the kitchen in Candan's house down in the bottom floor--I'm tempted to call it the basement--right across from Candan's father's office. Perhaps such placement is not as unusual as it seems to me. I just kept thinking how inconvenient it would be to have the kitchen on a different level from the dining room, which I'm assuming is on the main level, so that food would have to be carried up the stairs. I know that in some of the grand manor houses we see on Masterpiece Theater and the like, the kitchen is often on a lower level, and no one apparently worries about trouble the servants might have carrying things to and from the dining room. But Candan's house, though very nice, doesn't seem to be designed for abundant servants. Oh well....

hija

Wow! Dondi, that was a fabulous recap.

You caught a couple of things I missed. I missed that Candan's brother is in the US. Sounds like he's a doctor, and I agree we'll probably see him at some point. It does seem odd the father would leave whatever business he had to a child who has a profession and lives in another country. Perhaps one of those things where he always wanted the son to enter the business.

I also missed "You never forgave me, dad." I may have thought she said she'd never forgive herself.

The Social Services letter is interesting. The immediate thought is that he's looking for a way to dump Oyku. But it could also be research about his own past.

Demir was definitely touched that Oyku saved some of the food she really, really needed to bring back to him. Even though he mused that he was stuffed, having eaten all day, he ate the sandwich for her sake.

I did not expect the two of them to end up in Candan's house. Will they remain there the rest of the novela? And I'm sure he'll never steal those paintings.

Good eye, dondi, about Murat's desire to get into the house. I suppose I was thinking he wanted to try to bed her. But maybe he's also after the paintings.

hija

novelera, I too at first didn't hear Candan say "You never forgave me, papa." Since she (or at least the camera) had just moved to her mother's tombstone, I thought she was saying that her mother had never forgiven her (esp. since her mother died only two years after Seda, perhaps in part out of grief). But after the episode was over, I went back to check on the tombstones' dates (having finally made sure that the DVR was set to record), and I then heard her say "papa." I suspect that her father may have blamed Candan not just for Seda's death but perhaps also the death of his wife.

Hija

Thank you very much for the kind words, Juanita and novelera. And thank you very much for your insightful comments.

Juanita:

I’m holding out hope that Oyku will be ok. Perhaps the diagnosis was made in error? I doubt they got a second opinion. Fingers crossed.
I neglected to mention the car naming, but it puzzled me, too, Juanita. So I went back to the Turkish ep and the name was transcribed as Zehra. So maybe that is why Candan was not impacted.

About the kitchen: I’ve noticed some strange layouts in some of the Turkish houses. There have been lower level kitchens and upper floor kitchens surrounded by bedrooms. I’ve noticed this in the older homes and not so much the newer homes. And on a personal note, the house I grew up in has a lower level kitchen. It was originally just a bungalow with a very tiny main level kitchen. So the big basement kitchen with lots of space was the place we gathered for Sunday dinner and holidays. There was a house in our neighborhood that had an upper level kitchen.

novelera:
Yep, wondering how the brother will figure into the story. Do we know what the family business is?

Even though she was talking to her father, I think you’re right that Candan can’t forgive herself for her sister’s death.

I didn’t know what to think about the Social Services letter. My first thought was it was for Oyku but you’ve got a good point that it could be something else. Even if I could read the letter, it was in Turkish. I wonder if Oyku will find it and freak out.

Murat gave off a creep vibe to me. Shows up after years of no contact after her dad dies. He knows she has the house. He was very attentive and flattering to Candan. He mentioned his divorce and his loneliness. I bet he’d love to go to bed with her, she’s a beautiful, intelligent and caring woman. But I think he has ulterior motives, like her father’s estate. I was glad to see she held him off at a distance. The Turkish people are a lot like the Latinos we see in TNs --they hug and kiss hello and goodbye to family and friends and sometimes to people they just meet. It was noticeable to me that she did not do this with an old friend like Murat.

dondi356

hija

I'll put something up tonight. Probably brief.

hija

Thanks very much, dondi356, for your discussion about kitchens and, especially, about the name of the car. Did the Turkish-language version you saw have captions that said Zehra? As you say, that would explain why Candan didn't react when Oyku suggested the name Seda. But why would the people who create the captions for the Spanish-dubbed version choose Seda for the car's name? That would seem like the worst possible choice. Oh well....

Hija

Juanita, In the Turkish ep clearly heard Oyku say Zehra and that's the way it appeared in the captions. I don't know how captioning is done but I can see how captioning Turkish names using Spanish pronunciations and spellings might cause confusion. In Cennet, Turan's name showed up as Tufan and Duran, too.

dondi356

hija

Thanks, dondi356, for reminding me of the name confusion in Cennet. I guess it was just unfortunate that when Oyku said the name she'd given the car, the caption said Seda, which I suppose is as close to Zehra as Tufan and Duran are to Turan.

hija

This will be brief. I have a basketball game to watch.

Oyku is comforted by Candan when she has a nightmare. She wants her father. But Demir pretends to be asleep when they approach him.

Demir gets a call from Ugur in the morning. With a fairly evil smirk, Demir tells him he’s in Candan’s house.

Demir tries to pretend to be a fond father when the two of them are having breakfast, but snarls each time Candan’s back is turned. Candan invites Oyku to come along to a vet visit.

Ugur is gambling (and apparently cheating) when Cemal appears at his side.

Before leaving for the day Oyku tells Demir that, if the paintings disappear, she’ll turn him in to the police.

Cemal was apparently in prison for 8 years. He’s looking for Demir and gives Ugur 12 hours to produce him.

Demir tries to take down one of the paintings, but Yeye (Candan’s dog) barks and growls. He manages to lock the dog out, but Ugur calls about Cemal.

Candan warns Oyku not to pet the horse, Chinchen. He has a bad disposition, possibly because his mother died soon after he was born. [Another one!]

Demir surprises me. He doesn’t run away but seeks out Cemal. Apparently the three of them were involved in some crime. Cemal says that the cops had him cornered and Demir ran away. Cemal thought they were like brothers. Cemal wants $9 million (not sure what currency they’re using) he’s owed for the job. Ugur insists no one got a dime from that job. But Cemal is adamant, and even wants interest. He says they have a week to come up with the money.

Demir comes to Candan’s house. Oyku is somewhere else in the house. She asks him to advise her about the paintings. She thinks he’s an art expert.

Just then Murat arrives for the coffee he didn’t get the other night. Demir and Murat take an instant dislike to each other. Murat keeps asking what he does for a living; and Demir replies he’s a tasador (appraiser). Murat tries to offer him some menial job in his hospital. Demir gets up and leaves in a huff. Before he leaves, out in the street, he tells Candan that the paintings are worth a fortune and she needs to be careful. Candan is furious with Murat for humiliating Demir.

Oyku and Demir wrestle with the covers in the tent and end up in the car again.

Ugur calls (early) to say that Jilet (the crook who was the intermediary about Candan’s paintings) wants to see them. They have to take Oyku. Jilet is furious that he still doesn’t have the paintings. But then he hears that Demir is living in Candan’s house and insinuates something, infuriating Demir.

Oyku discovers that her crayons are mostly gone. Demir takes her to get some more.

Oyku and Demir are exchanging insults outside the store where he bought her crayons. The car won’t start (again). While Demir is under the hood, Oyku finds the letter from Social Services. This confuses me. Sounds like the letter is TO social services from Demir. I thought it was from social services. The letter says he can’t care for Oyku.

This novela is big on cliffhangers. We see her sad face and that’s all, folks.

hija

Thanks very much for this excellent recap, novelera. It's a model of what a concise recap should be!

I'm not sure what to make of the fact that Oyku takes out a sheet of paper at Candan's and continues to practice the subway stops. (This time, she gets them all right.)

Demir notices that Oyku happily drinks a large glass of milk. He remembers her offering a milk container to him in the car and assuring him that she doesn't like milk any more.

I loved Oyku's obvious relief when she returns to Candan's and finds that all the paintings are still there.

I wouldn't offhand imagine that Istanbul is a place where one can leave one's car unlocked, so I was surprised to see that when Demir and Ugur go to see Jilet, Demir doesn't bother locking the car. Perhaps he's counting on its often not starting?

The letter in the car confused me, too. We certainly know that there had been a letter from social services. Does Demir even have a typewriter, stationery, and a large brown envelope? I am not sure the "I can't care for Oyku" letter was typed, but it was in a large brown envelope with an address typed on it. I guess we'll find out more on Monday. Quizás.

Hija

Thanks for providing the highlights for Friday’s episode, novelera.

Liked that back and forth at the breakfast table and Demir realizing Oyku really likes milk. Oyku is getting to him slowly but surely.

Juanita, I think the medical diagnosis is what prompts Oyku to recite the metro stops from memory. She’s making sure she’s still ok.

What did Demir think he was going to do with that painting when he took it off the wall?

Interesting that Demir told the truth when he told Candan that Murat is right. She took in strangers. The paintings are worth a fortune and She could lose everything in the blink of an eye. She should be more careful. I’m still wondering about Murat’s intentions. He mentioned the valuables in the house.

Demir’s and Oyku’s brief bonding moment at night in the car was nice. He’s watching a match on his phone and she’s getting her stuff ready for school the next morning. She is annoying him as usual. Then she discovers her crayons are gone. He will buy her new ones if she doesn’t cry. She says she is hungry, and he shares his snack. They start watching the match together, like a father and daughter would.

novelera, I was surprised (pleasantly), too, when Demir went to meet up with Cemal right away.

As for the Social Services form, it was blank when Ugur gave it to Demir. When Oyku finds it, it’s been filled out and signed by Demir. It is a petition for Oyku to receive agency services. Demir doesn’t realize it yet, but he will regret this.

dondi356

hija

Thanks for the clarification, dondi. So does this mean he wants funds to help care for her while she continues to live with him? I thought it meant he was giving her up to social services.

hija

I should have worded that better. I agree with you, I think he is starting the process to to give her up.

dondi356

HIJA

Thank you. Dondi356 and novelera! Your recaps sure cleared up a-lot of things for me.

I totally missed that it is Okyu that has some type of illness. I thought it was the aunt who was ill!

And I too had questions about the car’s name and wondered why Candan hadn’t reacted...now I know it wasn’t the same as her mother’s.

Don’t like Murat at all!

Muchísimas gracias!

Dondi 356 and Novelera: Thank you once again for the detailed recaps! As always, I'm so appreciative of all the enriching details.
Oyku is struggling under some heavy burdens that no child should have to face. Yet she is a game little character and keeps soldiering on. Her friendship with Candan is so sweet. And I'm glad she has a sypathetic teacher. Enjoying this show more and more.
