MARIANA #85/86

I found Marcia leaving the infant undressed in the cold room particularly disgusting, probably the most disgusting event in the story right up there along with El Cumache leaving babies on hillsides to die.

Camilo, after MARRYING a woman he didn’t love knowing he loved Yadira, had the nerve to be jealous over Yadira’s admirer. I know I didn’t miss anything. What a jerk! .

Too many people being stupid, hee- hawing, eternally pondering and playing mute EXCEPT for Marcia’s maid what’s her face (I am watching waaay too many novelas to remember) who finally tells Mariana that the baby is hers.

The only highlight was Lola with her face cream asking for some pumpkin seeds. Very autumnal!

What isn’t autumnal are the snow flurries I see out my window. Time to get out the down, wool and flannel. : (


 

MARIANA

Well I just finished seeing the episodes. Agree that Marcia's act was disgusting and infuriating.

Camilo is just plain stupid, but then they did slam his head against the wall so maybe he lost some of his marbles were jolted. Oh but wait, it's not the first stupid thing he does.

Candida's confession to Mariana will probably be disregarded and excused away. I can just hear them, "Oh, yes, Baby Iggy is like a son to Mariana now since she saved his life." Ughhh. it's irritating how these idiots disregard the truth so easily with, "No puede ser!"

I did get a chuckle with Mariana's politeness right after she had her fits with Ati and Iggy. She said, "Thank you." when Ati gave her the key to the door and then she calmly said, "Excuse me" to Iggy when the phone rang and interrupted them during their tense argument.

Snow flurries??? Sheesh it's a warm, sunny 90 degrees here!

 

MARIANA

All the monologues, interior and voiced, in this crazy telenovela are driving me nuts. Yeah, I know, a short trip but, really, this ain't Hamlet.

Carol might have her character defects but she was trying to give Atilio good advice when she warned him about the morphine. But it was a waste of breath.

How did I miss Mariana's learning this? She now knows that Atilio sent Cumache to kill her previous suitors?
Tsk, tsk! Sr FFWD must have deceived me about that scene.

The baby in the hospital was the most ridiculous thing! The idiot doctors did everything but pack a hypothermic baby in ice. Then for the doctor to go out and tell the family how sorry he was BEFORE the baby was pronounced dead, it's all just too much.
Unless, of course, our buddy Isidro went and met baby José Antonio on his way to heaven and guided him back to Earth.
Personally, I don't know which would be sillier.
But Jarifa, I think you like that sort of stuff, so maybe we'll see that's what it was next episode.

Will Mariana believe Cándida? Definitely "Must See TV". Or something.

RgvChick, unfortunately Camilo does have a bad track record when it comes to stupidity. Yep, the old “No puede ser” no matter how it flies in the face of logic and the truth.

Andy, given the transformation of Isidro into the falcon they could have done some more bad cgi and he could have brought the baby back down from his trip up to heaven holding the baby with his beak by his diaper. LOL Yeah, we will never know what was wrong with that baby. It almost seems like it fed into that old wives tale of bad air coming in through the window at night. It made no sense because like you said the baby should have been suffering from cold. So now could he that quickly start running a fever and then needed to be buried in ice and given antibiotics. Makes my head spin.


Tuesday #87 Only one episode. : (

Biggest surprise: why nobody asked how the baby ended up getting left alone with the window wide open in the first place. There must be something in the water that these people just don’t think. No curiosity? No interest in keeping the baby safe in the future?

No surprise seeing Cándida done away with so quickly. At least people know that Marcia threatened to kill her but that’s not bring her back. It was stupid (hmmm I am using that word over and over) to trust Marica. One would think she would have known better.

Iggy’s just looks like he has been bludgeoned lately.

Now that Mariana has gotten the cringeworthy answer that daddy Atilio is not her father, will her “creepometer” zip into high gear?

If everyone, minus Atilio, El Cumache and Marcia, would just all get together and TALK and tell all they know, this could be wrapped up in no time.

No such luck! Oh well, this does leave me laughing.

 

MARIANA

Well, "the no puede sers" have it! No one believes Candida and they think she must have be loosing some screws...or overheard MaLola and misunderstood. That it is really dumb, writers! It's not like "Marcia" sounds or looks anything like MaLola. And THEN they let Marcia prance out with Candida after Candida told them that Marcia was going to kill her for opening her mouth!! They may as well have killed Candida right then and there.

Unbelievable how Candida sucked in all of Marcia's BS after Marcia practically pulled her hair out and pushed her around. Too bad Candida is no longer in the land of the living idiots. Marcia and Cumache do make a deadly pair.

I thought the scene where Ruth and the other friend were laughing about Mariana finding her father was really odd. Another foible on the writer's part.

It really takes me for a loop when Chachi actually sounds coherent..then switches over to her wild-eyed, screechy self.

The stupidest scene was Mariana going in to cry to her father about how lonely she is. How quickly she forgot that he had all her suitors killed. Oh but wait, naive Mari actually believed Ati's BS about sending Cumache to just scare the suitors...but Cumache wanted to impress him by killing them. Pe-phewweee!

RgvChick, Glad to know I was not the only one who thought that scene with Ruth and friend was odd. I thought I had missed something. Maybe the writers had a certain amount of time to fill and fill it they did with nonsense. Chachi’s Jekyll-Hyde episodes are disconcerting. What is weird is that she has gotten so much “worse” since Finding out she was Lola’s daughter. Is she just using that as an excuse to do and say exactly what she really wants to and then playing the “poor me” card?

My respect for Carol grows. Not only did she decently try to warn Atilio about the dangers of morphine, but the girl really knows her job! And she and Atilio make such a nice, playful couple.

Camilo and Chachi are another cute couple. She's crazy and he's stupid. They could make some wildly interesting babies. Who would fit right in with the rest of the characters in this wild TN.

Steve, Marcia had Cumache do a hit and run "accident" to get rid of Cándida.

Looks like

Mariana’s creepometer is out of whack or she just might be too stupid to understand what daddy dearest means about them sticking together. Ewwwww!
Chachi might be the one to kill Camilo crawling all over him.
Isabel and Lucrecia might finally be putting 2+2 together: Cándidas death and revelation about the baby.
Chachi is reading the magazine “TV y novelas“ at the hospital. Quite apropos.
El Cumache has a new satin shirt in a bright green apple color.
If Lucrecia had only kept out of Iggy and Mariana’s business. . .
Mariana puts the priest on the spot about what Cándida said and boy does he feel guilty and angry enough to confront Marcia. She blows him off. He threatens her that she will pay some day.
Lola reaffirms that the baby is really Mariana’s but Mariana cannot believe. Lola says she will prove it to her some day.
Lucrecia tells Iggy that Atilio is alive (anything else?)
Iggy pays Atilio a visit and they chit chat and catch up. Atilio blames Iggy for his condition and is defiant. He defends his support of Mariana with buying the hotel. Iggy finds out how obsessed Atilio is about Mariana. Atilio blames Iggy for Iggy’s mess with Mariana. Iggy tells him to watch out because he coukd turn him in. At.io tells him to go ahead so Mariana will hate him. Atilio starts talking about Elisa and Iggy realizes that Atilio is in love with Mariana. Surprise for Iggy: Atilio admits he’s not her father. Iggy thinks he’s crazy.
Camilo decides that when he is up to it he is going to go to farthest reaches of the jungle and stay there alone.
Marcia is surprised (again) when Lucrecia tells her that Iggy went to go see Atilio. Marcia is really out of the loop lately.
Iván wants to know what is going on between Iggy and Atilio; what they are talking about.. Carol is his spy and hears the most important info.

Yay! Finally Isabel remembers she has a brain and tries to use it!

Chachi was funny. No, Chachi, it's not your husband who is into pain and being hurt, it's Carol. And that wave-of-the-hand sign of the Cross when Isabel and Mama Lupe crossed themselves to pray for the departed Cándida was also funny, though totally inappropriate.

So many, many things in this TN just make me laugh out loud. Mariana's entrance and slow walk up the aisle to lay flowers on Cándida's casket, with the sound of a choir as she made her way up. And everybody all smiles. OK, I'm lost, did the people in Santos Pedro y Pablo know Mariana was alive or what? They seemed happy to see her but not shocked.

Camilo tells his brother JP that he is thinking of going off into the jungle somewhere. JP asks, And what about your wife, Chachi? And, right on cue, in pops Chachi. Well, that sort of thing happens all the time in this novela.

Actually, I think it would be nice if Camilo did go into the jungle and hang out with Yadira's indigenous people. Maybe Yadira could show up and wear a skimpy indigenous girl outfit, and with flowers in her hair again.

But Camilo and Chachi are married. Hmmm... threesome maybe?

Nah, too much to hope for  :-)

Steve, I have no idea who's next on the Hit-List for Marcia to exterminate, but if I see her coming I'm turning around and running for my life and I advise you to do the same.

Andy, great advice on what to do if there is a Marcia sighting! I wonder if, when the actors were done recording a scene or just after a long day, they ever just broke down in laughter about how lame their characters and the plot was. To be a fly on that wall!
