MARIANA DE LA NOCHE #116/#117

Wow! After seeing that cliffhanger, this should have been called “Mariana de las estupideces”.

I have to admit that I was disappointed we were only going to see this twice this week, but today’s episodes made my head hurt. So much activity but hardly anything happened and most of the little that happened was like a rerun. Example: This time the mine worker got lashed across the face. We saw that before.

At least:

the baby was rescued.
Mariana “might” have had a chance for love with the new engineer.
Atilio finally asked the doctor what was wrong with him.


I also finally realized that Angélica Rivera (Marcia) was married to Pres. Enrique Peña Nieto and was the first lady for his term.

And you're right about today, it made my head hurt too!

So is Atilio going to have a quick miraculous recovery? I'm assuming he is faking how ill he has become after poisoning himself...and just to get Mariana to marry him! It would serve him right if this time the damage is irreversible AND progressive ...joke would be on him.

Itzel has gone to greener pastures and Chachi vows that Yadira will be next. Will Isidro "feel" that danger and stop her?

AND OMG! Lola is missing??? Did I miss something? Did Chachi do something to her when Lola led her to the village?

Oh, goody! I got to see again that scene of Iggy standing outside listening to Marcia and Mariana argue about who loves him more. And he's convinced that Marcia really does love him, in her own way. Yeah, Iggy, much like a black widow spider loves her boyfriend :-)

Iván has a new plan! That's great because he always excellent plans. But Iván, buddy, remember back before you started with all your great plans? Back when you owned a hotel and casino, were making lots of money and hanging out with good-looking women? When you got along just fine with the Costa Brava police thanks to some small payoffs?
Look where all your plans have gotten you. Ditch the plan, Iván, ditch the plan.

Max also seems to have a plan. Sell merchandise at a loss, but make it up in volume. Uhhh...

RgvChick, thanks for bringing up the part about Lola missing. My brain was so deadened by this capítulo I missed that completely. I think when I remember this novela, it will be Lola with the monkey on her head. If only Atilio's plan would backfire! I would be one happy camper.

Andy, thanks for the information on María Rojo and the link. Your evaluation of Iván and his “plans” made me laugh. So very true. We soldier on!

Chachi is not exactly Florence Nightingale, which is too bad because I was hoping for some small sign of grace from her, but she's a goner. There's not much hope for her now that she killed off poor, trusting Itzel.

Atilio is now poisoning himself. If he turns ill again suspicion has to fall on somebody in the house or very close. What's he up to now?
Ah, I didn't have to wait too long for an answer. He's "dying" so Mariana wants to fulfill his "last wish" and marry him. How sweet.

Wow, I finally heard Marcia's boots squeak. And how! They sounded as if they were soaking wet.
Rgv Chickie, they could not have been that bad all along, I certainly would have heard them. Um, I think so.

Well, if they do get married, and we'll have to wait until Friday to find out, it might just save the new engineer. Otherwise Atilio would send Cumache to arrange a little "accident" for him as he did with all those other suitors for fair Mariana's hand.

Just in case we go quiet the next few days let me wish everybody a fun and safe Thanksgiving.

Yay! you heard the squeaky boots, Andy! It's been annoying and a distractor for me...and yes, they've been pretty bad :-)

It does look like Mariana is going to marry Atilio. They must have a resident judge because that judge seemed to be there even before Mariana assured Isabel that she is going to fulfill Ati's last wish. UGGHHH! If he has a miraculous recovery, I hope she knows to get an annulment just as quickly.

RGV Chick: If I'm Yadhira, I'd better WATCH MY BACK because Crazy Whacky Chachi is going to try to her next you watch.

Killing & getting away with murder runs in the Montenegro family: the Montenegro Way: if someone's a threat to getting what you want (Itzel, the Indigenous tribe, the Padre, etc.,) you whack them.

Uh, oh. That leaves me as the only one who hasn’t heard the squeaky boots yet. 🤔

Yes, agreed. And it seemed to me that there was a slight jump in the scene. I wonder if they cut some of it.

Jarifa, I don't know if the boots really squeaked, more like swished or sloshed. They sounded as if she had been standing in a pool of water for a long time and then walked out. This was in a scene where she walked out of the office leaving Iggy and Todoelmundo (or Mediomundo, whichever we have in Mariana) alone.
