Episode 82 Recap (Part I):
1.) Episode 82 begins with Psycho Barbara & Jackass #2 Camilo scheming & plotting on how to bust up Santiago & Aurora.

2.) Back at Casa Santorro, we see Steve, Jr., still starstruck by Gum-Chewing Girl (Venus) LOL.

3.) Steve, Jr., gives Venus a mixture of Spanish & English.

4.) Venus lounging on the couch as she & Steve, Jr., discussing things.

5.) In the meantime over at the Elizalde Mansion, we see nervous Tomasina getting scolded by Psycho Barbara over something I couldn't clarify.

6.) Psycho Barbara plotting something sinister against Franco Santorro. I wonder how she's got something cooking up against him.

7.) Jackass #2 Camilo stalking Santiago & gullible Aurora as we see Jackass #2 Camilo fantasizing ways on how to destroy the gullible Aurora in the most EVIL way.

8.) Naive Santiago & Gullible Aurora both have no idea what EVIL sucker-punch Jackass #2 Camilo & Psycho Barbara are launching at them.

9.) We go right back at Casa Santorro & YES: more talking between Steve, Jr., & Gum-Chewing Girl (Venus), who needs some manners on where to put her chewed-up gum (placing it on the table YUCK).

10.) Somebody needs to teach Venus some delicate manners on how to dispose of chewing gum such as putting it into the damn trashcan.

11.) In the meantime over at the undisclosed resort spot, we see Franco giving Fernanda a copy of a birth certificate record (assuming this one's about Artemio Bravo's birth records).

12.) Little do they know is that Psycho Barbara is spying on Eduardo/Franco & Fernanda from afar.

QT #35, Part 1

- Remi accosts Magdalena on the square about Sonia Rodriguez, but he runs away when he sees Leo coming. (Wouldn't you?)

- Minnie seeks Val out in the stables to downtalk Dalia. Val just wants to feed the horsies with hay in her hair. Min adds that a man like her son doesn't want a woman who comes home smelling like horse-poop and if he wanted a pet, he'd get a turtle. I hate to say it, but this woman is kinda starting to grow on me.

- The Padre offers Remi working cleaning the church, and Mat says his suegra can rent him a room cheap. Lorenzo does an airplane dance in the background.

- Both Val and Mat are getting very interested in their own pasts. Mat talks to Aaron, who denies having any knowledge about his family of origin. Val talks to everyone, including some mysterious person on the phone. We can only hear her side of the conversation: "Where? When? OK. I need answers." Meeting strangers is a good way to get kidnapped, but I guess she doesn't remember that, either.

- Art & Leo bribe/blackmail the press guys into supporting their candidacies (Leo's for mayor, Art's for some higher regional office.) The press guys are not happy but agree between themselves to play the game for now. No one drinks their tequila.
 

QT #35, Part 2

- Art wants Leo to finance both campaigns. He doesn't have any $$ but plots with Minnie to raid Val's accounts.

- The La Noria cowhands are afraid of the "ghost."

- Sandy visits Val in her room and flashes the ring. Val looks mournful and excuses herself to take a shower. Sandy leaves, or pretends to, but when Val comes out of the shower (where she is alarmingly permitted to SING AGAIN), her medallion is gone.

- Tirso torments Sabina about the DNA test. It seems he has the upper hand again.

- Val accuses Leo of taking both her diary AND her medallion, and of course he acts like a tick.
 

QT #35, Part 3

- After being encouraged by Sandy to "knock out one nail with another," Bere invites Chacho to an in-law dinner at Dalia's place. His shirt perfectly matches her sweater, so the wardrobe department may be sending us secret messages again. Meanwhile, Sandy eyes Dalia's blood-pressure medication with altogether too much interest.

- Basurto approaches Mags at the cantina to tell her the money was safely delivered to her mother and starts to warn her that several people having been nosing around about Sonia Rodriguez. Art thinks the conversation is too intimate-looking and runs him off.

 

QT #35

Great, Blue Lass.

We'd better be prepared for a health crisis for Dalia and interference from Art regarding Magdalena's situation. The smart money says Sandy is trying to isolate Mateo, which she will ultimately fail at. Art sees Magdalena as his property -- like anyone who abused her when she was sold into sexual slavery -- and I hope there is an explanation coming about how she escaped that.

Since I believe that Don Patricio died with his mental faculties intact I think there is another illegitimate son out there. Mateo was near him as a ranch hand and Leo came back from the city. We still have no explanation of Lorenzo's backstory, so I think he is it. It would make it ironic that he had found the dinero that Don Patricio put into Esmeralda's safekeeping.

UA, I love the idea of Lorenzo being a Montes -- wouldn't it be funny if Leo turns out to be illegitimate and Lorenzo ends up being the ONLY Montes?
 

"MEPS" Episode 82 Recap (Part II)
13.) Following the boring commercials on Unvision, we listen to Alejandro Fernandez's singing the theme song to this Telenovela.

14.) Going back to Grupo Lactos: Daddy Elizalde & Jackass #1 Annibal arguing over Jackass #1 Annibal's firing of Florencia. Jackass #1 Annibal not only doubles-down on that decision, but TRIPLES-DOWN!

15.) In the meantime, we see Old Man Macario sneaking up on Psycho Barbara by blabbing his mouth off. Little does the old man know is that Psycho Barbara plans to get rid of him HAHAHAHAHA.

16.) We see Psycho Barbara taking him for a "drive down toward the middle of nowhere in the forest". Her inner thoughts plotting sinister schemes & plots.

17.) No appearance of Martina or Liliana from yesterday's episode.

18.) As a matter of fact, no appearance from Nagging Gardenia (HORRAY.... for now).

19.) Flashback from Soledad Cruz's dying moments.... as Eduardo/Franco is talking to Fernanda back in the present....

20.) Going back to another steady diet of commercials on Univision.

21.) We're back from the annoying commercials, we see Psycho Barbara shoving Old Man Macario, who falls all the way down to his death: Bippidity, Bippidity SPLAT!

22.) Psycho Barbara walks calmly back to her vehicle & drives back to where-ever she was hiding in order to spy on Eduardo/Franco & Fernada at the undisclosed resort.

23.) In the meantime, back at Vlad's crappy apartment: Vlad the WEAKLING attempts to stand up to big brother, Damian, who always gets the upper hand HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA.

24.) We also see Priscila taking the documents to frame Florencia even further. It seems that Damian's upping the ante even further in trying to save his own ass by avoiding capture from law enforcement.

25.) Let's see how far the conspiracy against Florencia goes.....

 

QT #36

I'm still betting on Mateo, though. The foreshadowing is just TOO heavy to ignore. (Mat: "Patricio was the father I never had...and never will have.")

26.) Going back from the annoying commercial breaks on Univision, we see Santiago & Aurora eye-googling each other while Jackass #2 Camilo & Psycho Barbara plot more EVIL against the lovebirds.

27.) In the meantime back at Casa Santorro: more of Steve, Jr., & Venus LOL.

28.) Steve, Jr., however, isn't impressed with Venus' unsanitary issues such as placing the chewing gum on the table (where he was serving some refreshments) & placing her feet on the couch.

29.) While Eduardo/Franco & Fernanda are talking at the undisclosed resort, we also see a flashback from 20+ years ago when young Eduardo & young Fernanda were busted by Psycho Barbara after the young lovebirds were caught kissing.

30.) Once again at the Elizalde Mansion grounds: Aurora taking care of some of the horses (it was supposed to be Jacinto's job LOL), but Jackass #2 Camilo slithers & uses his manipulative charms to entice the STUPID girl.

31.) Santiago: buddy, you're going to get sucker-punched AGAIN!

32.) Jackass #2 Camilo & Aurora go on a horse-ride: OMG. Red flags to this STUPID naive girl!

33.) Eduardo/Franco & Fernanda still at the undisclosed resort: Fast Forward.

34.) We see Eduardo/Franco & Fernanda kissing as the camera angles are going all over the place while Alejandro Fernandez is singing LOL.

35.) While that's going on, we once again see Psycho Barbara spying on these two AGAIN. Does she get increase pay-time $$$$ for spying on two people ?

36.) Once again we go back into the annoying commercial breaks. Seriously, Univision needs to get rid of the BORING commercials altogether.

37.) Back from the annoying commercials, we see Psycho Barbara going back into her vehicle (looks like one of those Hum-DVs).

38.) Once back inside at the Elizalde Mansion, Psycho Barbara scolds weakling Tomasina (poor girl has been through lots of SHIT lately ranging from Lucio threatening to whack her, etc.,). The EVIL StepMommy wants to speak with Jackass #2 Camilo on the next phase of their EVIL plot against Aurora. Speaking of that: we see Santiago greeting Aurora while Jackass #2 Camilo gives them the EVIL stare....
 

QT #36 Part 1 of 3

Val got a mysterious phone call. She left to meet the caller.

Aaron got blitzed again. This was likely Minnie's doing because she was pumping him for the 411 on Esmeralda's baby. She asked the name of the family to whom the baby was given. Just as he passed out he said “los Garcia-Durán.”

Minnie went down to the den and told Leo they would shortly be able to kick Sab and Ange out of the ranch when the DNA results come back on Tirso. Leo said he was the only legitimate heir. Minnie said there was another son and he had to worry about him turning up. Leo was aware of this and Sabina was looking into it. Minnie said this was none of Sab's business; they needed to find a family named Garcia-Durán. He was not to mention this to anyone and especially near Dalia lest she act upon it. Matt entered and asked what his mother wasn't supposed to know.

Sandy left the pharmacy with a bottle of pills that looked suspiciously like Dalia's prescription while Berenice had a conversation with Chacho. He invited her to meet his family that weekend. She hesitated until Padre G appeared and she told him she would be available for the kids' camping trip. She apologized to Chacho and gave him a quick kiss before leaving to go about her business.

Leo told Matt that once Ange recovers she and Sab will go to the city. Matt had come to request a photo of himself with Don Patricio. He was willing to pay to have it copied, if necessary. Leo tried refusing several times on the grounds that these were “family photos,” but Minnie finally stopped him and consented. Matt thanked her and left. She looked at Leo and asked him WTF was wrong with this.

Art presented Luisa with a dress to wear to a dinner party and she said “¡No! I don't want to go or have anything to do with this.”

Sab demanded that Tirso keep this secret. Tirso told Sab point-blank that if Ange turned out to be his child everyone will know.

Aaron came out of his stupor to a glass of OJ and Minnie telling him she knew the Big Secret.

Ange looked for the candies Dalia gave her on her birthday, but they were gone. She ran to Corina who said other things were also disappearing. They talked about ghosts.

Leo drove out to the area where the Garcia-Durán family had lived, got out of the car,, and looked around.

Val entered the church and found Remi.

A local man appeared and Leo asked about the Garcia-Durán family, especially a son he had been friends with in youth. He did not know that Matt had followed him, nor did he see him in plain sight. The older man told Leo that nobody knew anything and wanted no problems. Leo gave him some $lubricant$ for his tongue but the man only knew that the couple took in orphaned children and essentially sold them to wealthy couples. He knew nothing about the boy under discussion except that he was about four years old when the place burned down. Everyone had been saying that this boy was the son of Don Patricio. There were only a few peeps alive now who remember this.
 

QT #36 Part 2 of 3

Remi told Val they had to meet in the church away from Leo and he had to tell her something important. Then he saw Sandy and hid in a confessional booth while Val told Sandy she came to the church to talk to Padre G before seeing a city shrink, but he wasn't in. Sandy said she wanted her to help with her pre-wedding shopping and Val left with her. Remi tried to follow but ended up hiding again, just as a parishioner came in to confess.

The man told Leo that the few who survived don't talk about the fire. Some believed that the ire was the result of a land dispute between Don Patricio and the Garcia-Durán, who did not want to sell their land. Leo told the man who he was and not to worry. He paid him more dinero in advance against the possibility of further information.

Luisa told Art she was the laughingstock of the town and people were laughing behind her back. She said she was satisfied with her home and small business but she wanted a baby. Art was not happy with this nth rendition of the same old song. He finally said he had two grown daughters and was of the wrong age to go back to changing diapers. She answered that she would do everything but he only got angrier and told her to leave him alone about this.

Padre G told Berenice that it would be better if she didn't come on the camping trip. It would be good for the kids but difficult for him. It would provoke gossip, especially as he ha heard Chacho invite her to meet his family. [¡Ay, Dios mio!] He left the classroom as the children rushed in.

Aaron took a shower and dressed. He couldn't escape fast enough from Minnie, who told him that if he had lied to Esme she (Esme) would never forgive him. Dalia knocked and Minnie lied to dismiss her but Dalia told her the DNA test had to be done that day.

Matt talked to the same man to try to find out what he had told Leo, but he wasn't talking. Matt let him go and continued to look around.

Eva showed the bridal gown to Sandy and Val. Sandy then showed Val the magazine photos her mother used... Val was the model wearing that very dress. Val was surprised but still did not remember the photo shoot or her past. Sandy then started trash-talking Dalia. Eva gave Val a shopping list before she left. Sandy then talked with Leo on the phone and told him that Val thought he had her diary. He told her that Aaron had told him that most amnesiacs never fully recover their memories. As soon as she hung up Chacho appeared wanting to know why he was getting nowhere with Berenice. She avoided telling him that Berenice was in love with someone else, but advised him what to do if he did discover he had a rival. [Can anyone translate what she said? Thanks in advance.]
 

QT #36 Part 3 of 3

Val returned to the church where Remi had continued to impersonate a priest. He had just finished with a female parishioner and came out of the booth to tell Val that small town sins are juicier than big city ones. He started with a vague version of one he heard and said he couldn't provide more details because “It's a secret of the confessional.” She started laughing and he said he had missed her smile. He told her that Leo and Sandy were manipulating her; she was not ready to believe that. Remi told her that they would take this a little at a time. When he said the name “Sonia Rodriguez” to her she said she did not remember but began backing away. He told her not to repeat this conversation to anyone and she said she wouldn't as she left the church. [He should write an updated version of Peyton Place.]

Aaron took the bucal swabs in front of Sab, Dalia, and Minnie. Tirso asked when he would get the results and Aaron told him that would depend on the doctor in Mexico City. Sab started crying but Minnie told her to save the crocodile tears and go pack their things because she and Ange would be out the door when the DNA test comes back. She then leeft the room with Aaron. Sab started in about how Minnie hated her and Dalia told her that she had wrecked Minnie's family. Sab kept saying “My daughter is a Montes.” [We'll see about that.]

The morning paper carried a rumour that Leo intended to run for mayor. Magdalena and Esme could not stop thinking about their lost children, or crying after dreaming about them. Esme thought back to Sab's insensitive nosiness, then dried her tears and prepared for the workday.

Padre G showed the same newspaper to Remi. Neither was pleased at the idea of Leo becoming mayor. Padre G knew yellow journalism when he saw it and realized that Art had bought off the editor. Remi became sure that Leo was taking Val's most recent earnings. Padre G then bolted out of the church.

Val bought a doll from a local woman. Matt approached her and she mentioned going to the city the next day for medical tests. They sat on a bench and she mentioned having been told he was a womanizer. She said she didn't care because he had saved her life. She then told him that the medallion had disappeared.
 

LFDD #98/99 .....GRAN FINAL TOMORROW

- Alex is kidnapped from Carolina’s house by El Gordo in disguise
- El Gordo asks for $6M in ransom
- Ivan is able to come up with the amount.
- Alex tries to escape his captors but is caught
- Ivan sets out alone to deliver the ransom money. Camilo thinks about following him

Leonel may be an ass, but he's not stupid, so he should be able to add two orphaned 4-year-olds together to get one cowpoke. After that all he needs is a clandestine DNA test, and then he can run over both Mateo and his horsey. Again.

If Sandy starts messing with Dalia's pills, she crosses into unredeemable. Up to now she's just been awful.

What does Luisa want, anyway? I'm losing patience with her.

Sandy's advice to Chacho about dealing with a potential rival was just the rather vague "you need to knock him off his horse," but she followed it up with "all is fair in love," which sounded more menacing.

I think they must film this on an actual horse farm, because there's no way their budget would run to renting THAT MANY gorgeous animals. Also, they're too balky to be movie horses. If anyone knows the filming location, please share. It's supposed to be set in Sonora.

Also, if anyone can ID the closing music, I'd like to add that to my telenovela playlist. But NOT the Valeria Rodriguez version, porfa. :p

I definitely agree that Sandy is going to pull something with the pills. This will be her definition of "All's fair"and no way will she get away with it.

DNA testing made it to the Bingo cards a long time ago and we already have an example in this tale. You know that there will be more such tests later on and that Leo will eventually catch on. It's also a bingo square that the hijo natural is more like the father than the legitimate one even if they are not the same actor in a dual role as in two big hits from the 90s.

As for Luisa, she doesn't seem to know what she wants. I wonder what her backstory is and I suspect that she came from an extremely dysfunctional situation. She accepts Artemio's abuse as something normal. She is actually willing to have a baby with him and not have him involved with it, which any psychologist will tell you would be extremely bad for both her and the child. He keeps her away from his "friends" and colleagues and she senses that he is ashamed of her lack of education and sophistication. She doesn't have half of Eva's strength that was needed to divorce this POS SOB and fight over a piece of property he insists she give up. She is attracted to Padre G because he has empathy, ethics, and cares about people. Any woman would ditch Artemio for someone like that.

Luisa needs a shrinkmore than Valeria does.

All I know about Luisa's background is that she's afraid Art will leave her and she'll have to go back to tassling corn in the campo. I'm wondering how he managed to trip over her there in the first place.

My bingo card is filling up nicely. Unfortunately Aaron does not qualify for "Galan falsely believes he has been intimate with villainess."

The only explanation I can come up with for Artemio and Luisa being a couple (and not even married to each other, apparently) is that he wanted -- or thought he wanted -- an acceptable-looking woman he could dominate. However long they've been together she fails to see that he is a crap life partner and he is probably realizing that she is not what he really needs as mayor of a small town with bigger ambitions.

Not to mention that he would need someone as unethical as himself. Sabina should be right for him, but she would never put up with his nonsense.
 

LFDD #100/101 GRAN FINAL Parts 1 and 2 HIGHLIGHTS (Part 3 on Monday)

- Antolin believes he knows where El Gordo’s hideout is and suggests they take Bruno 🐶 with them on the search.
- Camilo follows Ivan.
- El Gordo’s accomplice wants to get Saul out of the deal. Saul says that once they get the money they go their own way.
- Tony tells Carlota that he and Antolin are going to rescue Alex
- Tony and Antolin learn some information about El Gordo’s hideout. Antolin asks around about its exact location.
- The Curiel women are worried about the situation
- Arcelia is worried because Camilo left without saying where he was going.
- Night falls and Tony and Antolin arrive at the hideout. They tell Alex to hide until they can get him out.
- Antolin shoots Saul once in the arm and in both legs.
- Tony calls Carlota to tell her that they rescued Alex and to pass the message to Carolina
- Carmen tells Arcelia that Camilo followed Ivan.
- Lucia, Carlota, Carolina, Arcelia and Carmen are at the McGuire compound when Tony and Antolin arrive with Alex.
- Tony and Antolin find out that Camilo followed Ivan.
- Ivan arrives at the drop off sight. El Gordo shoots Ivan. Camilo arrives and shoots and El Gordo. The accomplice shoots Camilo and takes the money.

- A young woman and her mother discover the bodies of Ivan, Camilo and El Gordo. The older woman concludes El Gordo is dead but the other two are barely alive.
- The older woman has her son bring Ivan and Camilo to her hut. She is a healer. She removes the bullets from their bodies.
- Tony and Antolin go to the police station. The detective informs them that Saul was found injured and taken into custody.
- The healer tells her daughter that one of the two men doesn’t have the will to live.
- Tony tells Carlota and Lucia that El Gordo was found dead but no sign of Ivan and Camilo.
- The healer’s son is worried about the presence of Ivan and Camilo since the family was forced out of their community when he killed a man who attempted to rape his sister.
- Lucia tells Alex that Ivan is in LA on business so as to not worry him.
- Antolin tells Arcelia and Carmen that someone must’ve found Ivan and Camilo.
- Esther and David visit Saul in the prison infirmary. JJ refuses to help Saul.
- Antolin wants to go find Camilo and Ivan. Tony and Lucia decide to go with him. Alex will stay with Carlota and Lucrecia.
- Camilo wakes up but feels like he doesn’t have a future ahead of him.
- The healer tells Ivan that she will help Camilo as much as she can but he doesn’t want to live.
- Antolin and Benito reach the site of the shootings on foot while Tony and Lucia search the area by helicopter
- The helicopter flies over the general location of the healer’s hut but doesn’t see them


 

"MEPS" Episode 84 Short Recap
***Steve, Jr., & Venus dancing inside Franco's office at Casa Santorro.

Hello QT Patio!

Just dropped in to see how things are going. Sad to say that I got so far behind on this TN that I have not been able to catch up.

Blue Lass, I saw your question about where this series was filmed. It was filmed in the state of Mexico at an hacienda named La Gavia. The towns of Oro and Amecameca were also filming locations.

And in case you aren't aware, this series is set to have 122.5 capitulos...the ".5" is a new one for me! I wonder how they calculated that?!

Thanks for the info. The town looks beautiful, and I'd like to visit it (or them) someday. Actually, I'd like to visit anywhere right now, but no chance.

QT Friday 2/27

Quererlo Todo Friday 2/26 Episode ?
Apologies for this post being later than it should be and for the gaps. The action was running faster than my pen. Feel free to fill in where I missed or misinterpreted something. Also, I think I may have missed making notes on some scenes.

Leo refuses Sabina’s demanding embrace and runs her out of his office. He sits at the desk, looks at Don Patricio’s photo, and curses his dead father.

Exasperated at another knock on the door, Leo opens it to find Esme there. She wants to see Patricio’s diaries, so she can find out about her unknown child—the one without a face (sin rostro).

A servant interrupts to tell Leo the vet is there to give shots to the animals, so Leo says he has to leave. Esme follows him out of the office, then pauses, and goes back in. She flips quickly through each desk drawer, searching the contents. (I didn’t see what she found, but apparently she must have found something.)


 

QT Friday 2/27 Part 2

Alcalde Artemio is at the city hall. He has taken over all the local media and will use this resource to promote himself and his programs. (Need more detail here?) He plans for Leo to become Alcalde so he can move to higher levels.
Val is in town and meets a little girl. She gives the child a doll, creating a happy expression on the child’s face.
Dalia is in the kitchen, with Juan helping her move a table. She is asking him if he knows anything about Val’s missing agenda (diary). Dalia twists her back and is forced to leave the kitchen. (Others involved at the end of this scene?)
Val is going to cook food for the needy/orphaned children of the town. She asks Corina to help her with the project.
Whatever Esme found in the desk convinces her that her baby is not dead. Aaron comes in and Esme accuses him of keeping the truth from her, giving her no explanation. She knew Patricio was an egotist, but she thought Aaron was her friend. He can leave and never come back unless he brings her son to her.
Leo has info on a family (didn’t get name) who may have a surviving son of Patricio’s, although their house burned and they were killed. Leo goes to visit a peon who knows about this. He is able to meet the young man, who is tall, slim, and black-haired. This youth is open about claiming Patricio as his father, has always known whose son he was.
Leo, true to form, gets angry and pushes the young man back and then to the ground. Young dude runs away, not interested in claiming his patrimony.

 

QT 2/27 Part 3
Lorenzo brings a yellow manila envelope to Padre Gabriel. When he opens it, there’s another large newspaper clipping about a priest in a scandal. (Not sure of details). He is very upset. (Maybe a little later) Padre takes to the town square, shouts his anger at the campaign against him when he is trying to help the people and the town. Artemio pushes back, says Padre is disturbing the harmony of the town.

Perpetually discontented Sandy is in a convo with her mother, Eva. She’s running over all the wedding preparations, and is distraught that her photographer won’t be able to do the wedding. What to do? Mom suggests the guy who took some of her modeling photos. Running through these in her mind, we see the image of some very scanty, near nude photos. This isn’t the guy Sandy wants for her wedding photos (or is she worried that they may get exposure in the wrong places?). Wonder if Remi could do it if her were nicely treated?

Eva somehow gets Sandy to reveal that she has Dalia’s pills (for blood pressure?). Why has Sandy hidden them? Is she planning to sub some kind of poison for them or will she just cause Dalia to have a stroke from not taking the pills?

Whatever, Sandy would probably like to have Dalia out of the way. Despite her fakey hugs and smirkey expressions of love for her suegra, she would benefit from Dalia’s death: no mother-in-law to interfere and Mateo would gain the family inheritance.

 

QT 2/27 Part 4

Aaron brings the duffel bag of Angelita’s inheritance money back to Esme. Now that they aren’t friends any more, she can take it back. Later, Magdalena comforts Esme. Esme is sure her son Julian is alive and she will find him.

Val needs to go to Mexico City for a medical appointment. Leo took off to see the supposed son, and isn’t there for Val. Mateo offers to let her use his truck. He realized that she is anxious about driving herself and says he will take her. They talk in the truck and find both would like a large family. Mateo knows the city from trips with Patricio to livestock expos. He likes the historical center and movies “los cines.”

Leo and Sandy are both annoyed that Val and Mat went together to the city. They try calling, with no results. The two lovelorn travelers enjoy the ride, with Val falling asleep on the way.

I think I missed a scene with Padre Gabriel and Bere. Padre drew the line on what they could talk about and do when they were together. Or something like that.

I wonder where Leo is currently hiding Valeria's diary. If Esme din't find it my money says it's in the wall safe.

The rural family's name is Garcia-Duran and the tall guy said he ended up with a family named Hernandez. (I think he's an impostor. Leo also thinks so.)

The newspaper headline said "Otra sacerdote enamarado"; no details were read beyond that.

Sandy lied to Leo about Matt being in charge of the estate in the even of Dalia's death. However, she fails to understand that if Matt were in charge he would not take any of it for himself.

I love "perpetually discontented Sandy" -- perfect description. I think I'll have to shorten it to "PDS," though, to save the typing. (Or if we call her "perpetually malcontent Sandy," it could be "PMS," which kind of suits her.)

Here is some detail to fill in a little:

- In the conversation between Padre and Bere, he told her never again to speak to him of love, and she promised she wouldn't.

- What Esme found in Leo's office was one of Patricio's journals. There should be more -- I remember quite a few of them being thrown across the room after the safe was opened -- but she just happened to find the one with her baby in it, of course.

- Val gave the doll to Angelita, Sabina's daughter.

- The bag o' bills now contains fake money. Aaron put the real money in a Swiss bank account under his and Esme's names.

I for one am getting tired of Padre's temper tantrums. He seems to have an anger management problem that the cassock has not ameliorated. I had been thinking his big pecado was accidentally killing someone in the ring, but now I'm starting to wonder if he killed someone ON PURPOSE.

I loved the reappearance of Patricio's ghost in the last scene. I don't think he's the one who's been knocking stuff over, though.
