"MEPS" Episodes 99 & 100:

Recap of yesterday's episode will be posted sometime today & I'll be doing a recap on today's episode also today.
 

QT #52, Part 1

- Mat confesses to his buddy Carlo that he has "met someone else" but doesn't say who.

- Juan is teaching Tito and Ange to ride.

- Mat & Val agree that that was a hell of a kiss yesterday. A rooster walks through the scene and even adds to the dialogue. Now I'm sure the crew are having fun with us.

- Val sees Bere about enrolling Tito in school.

- Padre G gives Val some numbers to call to try and find info on Tito's Mom.

- Val asks Remi to tell her what her feelings were for Mat. He says she definitely had feelings; she admits she has them again. Or still. He warns her off, citing the impending wedding.

- Art threatens to reveal Padre's past unless he gives some kind of special mass...? Can anyone fill in?
 

QT #52, Part 2

- Val walks in on Mat half into his ugly wedding suit. More kissing, closing credits song, anguished looks.

- Aaron finds the cabin but is cold-cocked by Leo just as he's reaching for the secret hiding place of the gun. Leo takes his phone & wallet to make it look like a robbery. It's a cinch he'll keep the gun as leverage, but what does he want from Sab that he can't get for free?

- Val's pants seem to be two sizes too short and one size too low. What did she do to them? And more important, could she do it to Bere's pants as well?

- Mags comforts a sad Val, who confesses the kiss with Mateo while Sandy eavesdrops outside BECAUSE IT'S TELENOVELA LAW. Sandy flees to the washroom, where she claws at her own skin and calls Val a name to bad they had to censor it.

- Meanwhile, Mat is confessing the kiss to Padre G. He obviously feels guilty, and the Padre is sympathetic until Mat accidentally refers to Sandy in the past tense. Upsi!
 

QT #52, Part 3

- Bere's all cute & flirty with Chacho until he lets it slip that it was actually the Padre he punched, and she goes all fishwife again. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

- Blue Patricio appears as Leo is hiding the gun in the safe and taunts him about his "dark side." Leo says he'll never be like his father, which is completely nonsensical since he seems to spend all his time trying to do exactly that.

- Dalia has a little crush on her lawyer. Que cute!

- Eva & Bere run into a towel-clad Carlo in the hall. Afterward Eva suggests to Bere that if she can't see herself with Chacho, how about that one? Bere tells her SHE'S the one with the big eyes.

- Luisa admits to Vicente that she can't read or write, and he feels (even more) sorry for her.
 

QT #52, Part 4

- Basurto loads Tirso up to go back to prison and lets Sabina go. He and Leo square off a little in the square. They may or may not have agreed that Basurto can keep his job once Leo's the mayor if he stays quiet about the missing grave-robbers. More on the situation as it develops.

- Minerva asks Aaron if he's absolutely, positively sure that Patricio was shooting blanks. He says yes, why? She mutters something about the possibility of heirs coming out of the woodwork now that the will is being challenged, but we know what she's REALLY worried about.

- Magdalena films Leo & Sab kissing in his jeep.

- No more wildlife sitings, which begs the question: WHERE IS RAMONA???
 

"QT"
Blue Lass: Karma is going to get Sandy sooner or later. Mark my words it will not be long because that uppity EXPLETIVE is going to get what's coming to her.

Leo & Sab will also get their Karma down the road.
 

"MEPS" Episode 99 (SHORT RECAP)
1.) Gullible Daddy Elizalde still being an old coot & GULLIBLE that Psycho Barbara is milking him up for the inevitable sucker-punch later on down the road in this Telenovela.

2.) Over at Miraflores: we see Eduardo/Franco pumping Adofina for information regarding Dr. Obregon's whereabouts. When she tried to deflect the subject, Eduardo/Franco snapped & screamed at the gullible idiot to the point she squealed on what she knows.

3.) Over at Grupo Lactos: Fernanda brings Jaime Correa (AKA the Stupid Dope) into a large room, where she brings a dozen Della Street's & demanding that Stupid Dope identify Florecita, whom is still being framed for spying & embezzlement, etc.,

4.) Sensing he can't outfox the Redhead, Stupid Dope (Jaime) cracks under pressure & wants to have a minute alone with her.

5.) Redhead (Fernanda) brings Stupid Dope into Daddy Elizalde's office, where Stupid Dope gets rightfully scolded for trying to save his job at the expense of Florecita.

6.) While Psycho Barbara plots her most ulterior plot & a stupid boring tall tale (Fast Forward), we see Vlad taking Stupid Dope out of Grupo Lactos & driving him over to his crappy apartment where Damian is waiting.

7.) Redhead tells Daddy Elizalde that Stupid Dope couldn't be found (do these folks have SECURITY CAMERAS at Grupo Lactos ?). Daddy Elizalde says no problem because they now know Florecita wasn't a spy after all.

8.) Staredown between Redhead & Psycho Barbara takes place.

9.) Vlad informs Stupid Dope there's no chance in Hell that Mr. Alevar (Priscilla's brother) will ever keep Stupid Dope at Prolasa after everything that's come out.

10.) In the meantime at Bravo HQ: Artemio hands Borja a picture of Liliana Elizalde. He wants her brought to Bravo HQ immediately as Artemio's determined to up the ante against the Elizalde's (I have to think there's a major reason why Artemio hates the Elizalde's so much).

11.) Over at Vlad's crappy apartment: Stupid Dope whines about Rolando Alevar not believing him, etc.,; Damian screams at the idiot: "What does it matter ? You're finished at Prolasa!" in other words: Jaime Correa's out of a job regardless.

Then we listen to the whining from Stupid Dope BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.

12.) Back at Casa Santorro: Nagging Gardenia upping the ante against Eduardo/Franco with the intent to expose a big envelope with Eduardo Juarez (in large bold letters on it) when Redhead shows up. Eduardo/Franco shows up right back at the residence, he & Redhead need to talk inside & Nagging Gardenia is back again making coffee LOL.

In the meantime, Damian ignores Stupid Dope's handshake offer & shows him out of the apartment so that Vlad can get the Stupid Dope out of there for good.

 

"MEPS" Episode 100 (Part II)
13.) Daddy Elizalde calls to inform both Eduardo/Franco & Redhead that they're invited to one of those Grupo Lactos executive board meetings.

14.) Venus is once again all dolled up & ready for her next date with Jackass #2 Camilo. Martina is nervous about her BFF & obvious she doesn't like Jackass #2 Camilo for obvious reasons...

15.) Liliana just sits there staring into outer space & staring at the windows.

16.) Over at Grupo Lactos: The discussion is about Dr. Obregon & the so-called extortion stuff.

17.) Nagging Gardenia is downright ANNOYING as expletive. This woman needs to get knocked up & go away: I mean Eduardo is NOT that into you: you're THE HELP & nothing more.

18.) Over at Grupo Lactos: Redhead tells Daddy Elizalde she's bringing back Florecita; Jackass #1 Anibal nags & complains when Daddy Elizalde tells his jackass BUJI eldest son to SHUT UP.

19.) Santiago seems to think Franco Santorro is a great & awesome guy, now that he got to know him today. The body language of Psycho Barbara & Jackass #2 Camilo's reactions on Franco though......

20.) Martina, Eduardo/Franco & Redhead don't have any luck with getting any response from Liliana: tough luck folks.

21.) Meanwhile Liliana sees the glow of the late Ciro Palafox in the yard. Umm: it's a trap sweetheart!

22.) Venus talks to Steve, Jr., on the phone about upcoming steps on the next phase of the plan when Jackass #2 Camilo shows up.

23.) Gullible Aurora: you have no clue that you're going to get sucker-punched by an EVIL plot schemed by Psycho Barbara & Jackass #2 Camilo.

24.) Over at Jacinto & Mags' crib: Tomasa brings some hot tamales (YUMMY).

25.) Jackass #2 Camilo pulls a Bill Cosby by drugging Gullible Aurora, who just lays there on the bed while he removes her clothes....


 

QT #52

Good stuff, Blue Lass.

Yes, where is Ramona? No update on her this afternoon, either.

Victor Gonzales must be having a good time getting to boink three women under the same roof. I'm hoping somebody catches this who can make a difference.
 

QT #53 Part 1 of 3

Magdalena took a compromising photo of Leo and Sab in his jeep before they entered The Old House.

Minnie talked to a lab about a DNA test. She lied to Dalia who overheard part of this when she was bringing fresh towels.

Leo and Sab further desecrated the bed he shared earlier with Sandy. He must be hot stuff in this venue because the mention of the incriminating weapon should have put her off her hormones. He lied, saying he had tossed it into the river..

Dalia entered Minnie's room, but she was not there. She found Minnie's phone, hit the last number called, and got a genetics lab. She wrote down the name and put the phone back. Minnie came out of the bathroom with her usual attitude and Dalia left.

Sab tried to reassure Angelita, whom she asked about the spider biting Minnie. She was a little amused but told Ange she didn't want her hanging out with Tito.

...who was out, imitating Matt's every move (except for removing the shirt). Val watched, amused.

Dalia looked up the lab and wrote down the number.

Padre G apologized to Berenice; they appeared to make up in the Friend Zone. Chacho watched, then approached Berenice. There was a working-class Beatrice and Benedick which ended with her grabbing the chocolate box and walking off in a huff.

Dalia told Aaron what she overheard. Aaron said he would call the lab the next day. She then told him she was determined to find Matt's birth parents. He said he would help.

Luisa lit candles and poured wine and was turning on the radio whan Art came home. He seemed to appreciate this, but excused himself for a few minutes. He had a gym bag in his hands as he left the living room.
 

QT #53 Part 2 of 3

Padre G was writing at his desk, but crumpled the paper and tossed it. “I was wrong, but what do I do?” he asked himself.

Art was lying in bed and snoring when Luisa entered the bedroom. She then drank both glasses of wine.

Juanito and Camila walked around talking about the upcoming wedding. Two of the guys teased him. [How much longer can this go on?]

Another nasty encounter between Leo and Magda on the same subject. She showed him the photo on her phone. She told him it would do no good to steal her phone because she had sent the photo and video to someone else. After she walked out she sent it to Camila. As she read the message Juanito took out his phone, saying his mother needed him [This was probably an Escape Call]. He kissed her and left. She looked at the video of Leo and Sab.

Sandy went to see Leo to tell him she saw Val with Matt. He became the usual green-eyed monster and started to charge. She managed to calm him down long enough to listen to her plan for a trip (which we did not hear).

Sandy went to see Padre G. She asked about pre-marital confession and what if she left something out. He told her it was a grave sin to receive communion without a full act of contrition and she reluctantly went to the confessional booth.

Leo confronted Val, accusing her of cheating on him with Matt “after all I've done for you.” He claimed Matt admitted to all this and continued playing the victim. [Don Patricio would definitely see this as the act of a gutless wonder.]

Sandy actually confessed to having been unfaithful to Matt more than once, admitting that the latest was with Leo.

Val went after Matt, accusing him of ruining her life.

Padre G asked Sandy if she understood the gravity of this. She didn;t seem to, saying she did this because of Matt kissing Val and did he confess that? Padre G reminded her he could not tell her anything Matt confessed to him. Sandy said they were even. Padre G told her this was not a healthy relationship and that the marriage would be a disaster. She said he could not tell her what to do. He told her it was his duty to advise and started to say he would not marry a couple under these conditions. She then said the confession was finished and tried to blackmail him using Padre Aurelio and her own father as weapons. She walked out.

Just when we all thought Val was seeing through Leo she showed us she fell for his latest lies and Sandy's accusations that Matt was only looking to score with her. She gave him no room to deny these accusations before walking away.

Berenice was grading papers when Chacho looked in on her and asked if she had forgiven him. She pushed him out and said “No!” This went on until midnight when they finally opened the chocolates and made sounds of satisfaction behind her closed bedroom door. The door at which Eva was eavesdropping. Eva entered, found them fully clothed and eating chocolates from the Valentine box. He held the box toward her and she made an excuse about seeing if they needed clean towels. She took a candy and ordered him back to his room before retreating.
 

QT #53 Part 3 of 3

Matt could not sleep. Neither could Val. The next morning Val was grooming and caring for La Chula when Sandy showed up. She talked about how she couldn't wait to marry Matt. She then started her mind games again. Val admitted there was one kiss – which was a mistake – and got slapped for it and called at slut. “How could you betray me like this?”

The lab results were delivered to Minnie personally. Positive. Leo is Ange's father. It was difficult to determine Minnie's reaction to this, as we didn't see her pick up her shot glass.

Leo looked at photos of himself and Val on his cell phone. Photos taken in London, Rome, Florence, etc. Blue mirage of Don Patricio and his usual verbal attacks on Leo's manhood. He told Leo to just give Val up to a real man: Matt.Leo turned away from the mirage, holding his head and protesting as Sandy came in to tell him that she had slapped Val whom she called a compound insult. She went so far as to suggest that she was not satisfied. Leo grabbed her and started making out with her, possibly with the intention of desecrating the desk. The door had been left open and Sab stood there just close enough to see them acting like a pair of kissing gouramis. She backed out silently and unseen. Leo released Sandy with a sarcastic comment and she walked out.

Matt rode after Val and said she was going to hear him out, like it or not. He had always been ethical and fair in his dealings with others, so if she truly believed he was a player it would be better for them to forget about each other. He rode away from her and she hoped she could forget him, too.

Ange and Tito played outside the stables. Minnie approached and was not pleased. She ordered Tito to leave.

A catty confrontation happened between Sab and Sandy about Leo. Sab laughed at Sandy's boast that she could nab Leo. Sab said Leo was just using her and laughing at her. Val entered on this one and both immediately shut up. Sandy then accused her of trying to steal Matt and said she wanted her out of her life.

In general, though, is anyone watching this besides the three recappers? It doesn't seem to be worth the effort if we're just describing something all three of us have watched to each other...

Blue Lass, I have wondered about that same question. If we can't establish that we have a slightly larger audience, we may want to retreat to comments rather than full recaps.

I really like this TN and all the characters. Not sure why more Patio Peeps aren't interested.
Maybe time slot, maybe due to so many episodes still to go. Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

I don't think it's the length of the story; we're told it's going to be around 150 episodes and that's not excessive with the number of characters this one has. The biggest issue in the US is probably the time slot, but all you have to do is go to your cable company's website the next day if you're not recording it.


Now for my comments on #53: I don't see a 3-way catfight in the making with Sab, Val, and Sandy. There is likely to be a nasty argument that Dalia or Minnie will walk in on.

I hope that the spider turns up soon and is rescued by one of the kids, which would make the adults look a bit foolish. The actress playing Corina is a good comedienne and should be in that hypothetical scene.

I also hope that Luisa gets her act together and walks out on Art. Getting pregnant by him will not lead to her happiness.

I have hopes that Luisa and Vicente will bring Art down together. Fingers crossed.

La Paloma and UA, I think if no one comes forward as depending on our explication, it makes sense for us to drop back to a bullet list of important plot developments -- then we can spend the rest of our energy speculating to each other.

Steve, if you're not watching, it doesn't make sense to keep commenting. It doesn't advance the discussion.

I wonder whether Padre G will ultimately refuse to perform or stop the wedding due to what he sees as a real emotional disconnect between Matt and Sandy. This would rile Art up big time and embarrass the crap out of Sandy (which she richly deserves).

We know who both of them really are. She would not be happy living on a ranch when she is longing for the city lights and luxuries. He's a good guy and attractive while Leo is a city slicker with a hotter bod and more experience with it.

Sandy may never have cooked a meal in her entire life. I don't see her doing any work around the house, and she doesn't even have a real job. She would be of little intrinsic value as a rancher's wife. Probably worse than Minnie was.

I don't get the feeling Sandy wants kids, either -- after all, pregnancy would ruin her imaginary modeling career (and needless to say, she'd make a terrible mother.) She and Mat are basically incompatible in every way.

I hope for a happy ending and a "years later" flash-forward of Val and Mat surrounded by their offspring. On horseback. Wearing ponchos.

I have always had that vibe about Sandy. She comes off as the type who would complain about pregnancy ruining her figure (Hell, I would have had issues with that) and she would have no patience with children. She is not Berenice, who is excellent with kids.

Ever notice how she somewhat resembles the young Vivien Leigh? Is that why her name is Scarlet?

I also wonder how long ago her parents split up. I can't imagine Art as a decent father, so it is no surprise that she treats him like an open wallet.

QT #54, Part 1

- Min tries to make friends with Angelita, but needless to say, she's bad at it.

- Leo & Mateo ride up the mountain to have a meaningless fistfight. They both ride better than they box -- they should have had a horse race instead.

- Sab tells Val she's gonna get Leo back; Val says go ahead & try.

- Padre tries to give fake praise to Art at mass but he can't go through with it and ends up confessing his past to the congregation. Everyone seems to take it pretty well except Art & Sandy.

- Sandy is thrilled about Bere & Chacho. Bere says she'll always love the Padre but Chacho makes her laugh, only now she feels like she's cheating on both of them. What a wet blanket.

- Tirso is being held without bail awaiting trial.

- Leo verbally abuses Sab in his office, then calls out to Blue Patricio to make an appearance. Is he losing it?
 

QT #54, Part 2

- Dalia runs into her lawyer visiting his wife's grave and they go back to his place to talk shop. It sounds like he's running a kennel in there. He sadly informs her that Leo is alleging mismanagement of funds and suing for the return of every penny she's spent since Patricio's death -- AND trying to evict her from the hacienda.

- Padre tells Mat he can't officiate at his wedding "as a matter of conscience" but doesn't spell out why.

- Mags tells Val that Leo cheated on her with Sab. The End.
 

QT %54

Gracias, Paloma.

The only time Sandy seems human is when interacting with her sister. She is a needy brat in front of Eva, a jealous bitch with Matt, and Daddy's Little Girl with Art until he opens his wallet.

Leo is definitely losing it and I think he knows it on some level. Whether that changes his behaviour at all is yet to be seen; we're not even at the halfway point in the story.

Swearing on my furbabies, I did genuinely predict that Padre G would decline to perform the marriage ceremony; there are no spoilers on Wikipedia. He is definitely a man of conscience and of course, he would not disclose what he heard in the confessional. He did tell Sandy she had to tell Matt and she refused to, so therein is the explanation for his decision.

I hope that this lawyer becomes Dalia's White Knight. She deserves it.

Thanks for recap 54, Blue Lass.

Padre G had some strong scenes. His speech at the church was quite emotional. Liked seeing all the assembled cast in the pews, picking them out one by one.

Yay for Padre telling Mat he couldn't officiate at the marriage. Hope Mat finally figures out he should rethink the union w Sandy, whatever he promised.

What a "meet-cute" scene, with Dalia and lawyer at cemetery. Need him fix the legal problems and show Dalia she is valuable.

Padre G was definitely the man of the hour. Knowing what he knows now he couldn't perform that wedding ceremony. There would be a divorce within 6 months. Matt would be furious with himself.
