Good stuff.
Milagros is a real piece of work, a real sMother. She is Suspect #1 for perpetrating and perpetuating Fede's issues. She likes Daniela for her weak personality which would allow her to dominate her.
Rodrigo is a weakling, too. If he ha any strength of character he would have sent Nora packing.
I'll be posting recap on today's episode tomorrow morning. I'll also be doing a recap on tomorrow's episode later tomorrow afternoon.
I agree with everything you said, Urban. Having not remembered that small little comment for the first time around I was surprised by what Rebeca said to Rodrigo about not physically resembling his father. Typical Rebeca to make such random and almost demeaning comments.
I am still trying to figure out how much older Adriana would have had to have been to act as a substitute mother for her sisters. How old were they when their parents died? How old was Rebecca in the prologue? There is an implication that Adriana and Alonso were already married when her parents died, but the actors looked too young to have had to assume such responsibility more than a couple of years before the estreno.
It is no surprise that Nora is just like her or worse. Some apples fall right at the base of the tree.
182.) Jackass #2 Camilo & Natasha getting their freak on during Happy HR.
183.) Somewhere in the forest: Franco lets both Psycho Barbara & Dr. Obregon know that the jig is up BIGLY.
184.) We see Dr. Obregon screaming at Psycho Barbara for betraying him. She, however, uses her typical Oscar Award-winning performance of Best Actress most ever AGAIN pretending to be shocked & tries to deny the allegations.
185.) Franco then brings up the recording Dr. Obregon had 20+ years ago: where on the day Liliana was admitted to the Miraflores Clinic: she accused Psycho Barbara of whacking BUJI Monserrat Elizalde! We see Pyscho Barbara looking shocked at Franco's allegation & then calls Liliana crazy & stupid.
186.) Over at J & M's crib: in the kitchen table, we see Jacinto & Mags discussing his role in setting up Psycho Barbara. Mags wants to know where Liliana is at; Jacinto explains that Dr. Obregon swears that he didn't kidnap her & didn't know where she's currently at (HMMM: Bravo HQ).
187.) Now back to Franco, Psycho Barbara & Dr. Obregon: they drop Obregon off in the middle of nowhere. Psycho Barbara launches more insults & intimidation to scare our anti-hero protagonist.
188.) Bravo HQ: Artemio flaunting the egotistical jackassery in bragging about destroying Liliana's life & the reason is because she was born an Elizalde. Your day is coming Artemio Bravo & with 47 more episodes left in this EPIC Telenovela is around the corner.
189.) Once again back to the dark woods of the forest: more tauntings & insults launched between Franco & Psycho Barbara.
190.) Elizalde Mansion: Daddy Elizalde is still LAME, stupid, incompetent, irrelevant & immaterial. Jackass #1 Anibal insults Liliana some more & Redhead just about had it with EVIL Big Bro: she tells the #1 Jackass that if he doesn't have anything to say nice, then SHUT UP.
191.) Jackass #2 Camilo even taunts Santiago once again about Aurora. He even had the audacity & GALL to brag if only little bro knew that HE, Jackass #2 Camilo penetrated & stretched Aurora's vagina very wide (via rape).
192.) Over at Liliana's crib: Venus & Martina BFF Talk. We see that Venus is seriously considering marrying Jackass #2 Camilo, which pisses off Martina BIGLY; Venus is going to have to tell Steve, Jr., that things have gone too deep between her & Jackass #2 Camilo.
Now over at the Gallardo residence: Priscila listening in on the conversation between Mooching Damian, Mommy Gallardo & sleazy jackass lawyer Jacobo Roa inside the study to discuss the "legal problem".
193.) Now back at the Elizalde Mansion: Jackass #2 Camilo announces to the entire family that he's getting married to Lovely Norton, the "niece" of Santorro's boss, Steve Norton, Jr.,
Jackass #1 Anibal smilingly approves while Franco keeps calm the entire time LOL.
Daddy Elizalde needs to tell his grown kids to MOVE OUT & getting their own places to live because they're obviously mooching off of him in that big mansion.
194.) Clingy Erika shows up inside the library of the Elizalde Mansion, which annoys Redhead to the obvious to the entire audience; Franco then shows up, who gets one BIGLY smooch to the mouth from Clingy Erika.
Bravo HQ: Liliana staring at the picture of Ana Gregoria; Ciro's ghost appears & she tells him that the picture of the woman reminds her of her beloved nana, Soledad Juarez Cruz (Eduardo's mother).
Over at the Elizalde Mansion: Psycho Barbara gleefully smirks, licking her lips while Franco leaves. More winning from the EVIL Sociopathic StepMommy but with 47 more episodes left to go, her downfall is COMING.
Waterlily, WELCOME!! I didn't watch "En Nombre del Amor" so I'm really not sure what to recommmend. There aren't many TNs where one of the protags doesn't initially abandon the other because of some misunderstanding. Have you checked out "El Color de la Pasion"? This is one of my top 5 TNs to watch.
Also are you looking for something to watch "live" on one of the networks or just any TN that might be available elsewhere?
Welcome, Waterlily! I like the more old-fashioned TNs as well, and daytime is probably the best place to look if you want them live. If you have streaming services of any kind, as UA says, that broadens your choices. I will think about your request and see if I can come up with any recs.
Tito and Ange get separated from Lorenzo in the mountains/woods/Mexican Bermuda Triangle that everyone keeps getting lost in, and -- surprise! -- they get lost. Eventually they run into Lorenzo, Tirso, and a coral snake, in that order. The snake bites Ange and Tirso shoots it, tells Tito to pack it up, applies a tourniquet (to Ange, not the snake), and calls Sab on the phone. Of course it's a bad connection and she assumes Ange has been kidnapped (not an entirely irrational assumption, since people seem to get kidnapped about as often as they get lost in El Rosario.) Everyone's running around in the woods not running into each other until Sab finally comes across the weary band and loads them into her truck to go to the hospital. She tells Tirso she doesn't believe anything he says about the accident, but nevertheless lets him drive. Oooookay.
All the Montes and ex-Montes and half-Montes and wannabe-Montes are having a snipefest in the hacienda living room when the doc finally arrives and hands the DNA results to Dalia. It's positive! Mateo is Don P's son! Everyone reacts as expected: Sandy gloats, Dalia sparkles, Mat looks cute and dumb, Leo rages and Val flaps her arms, which is not a wise decision in that bra-and-maxi-shrug combo. Leonel seems to think "peon" is the worst thing you can call someone, or maybe he doesn't know any other words. Should we chip in and get him a thesaurus?
Everyone converges on the hospital, representing every overwrought emotion in the telenovela playbook. By the time the doc comes out to say Ange is stable and btw thanks for the snake, Tirso has vaporized. Leo calls Basurto to tell him to be on the lookout. Carlo goes to get Sabina a sandwich. Val tries to talk to Mat about his drunken rant in the chalet, but he (says he) remembers nothing, even when the music comes on really loud. Esme calls Carlo's phone, and Sab answers. Not good.
Art brandishes a snazzy diamond at Luisa and begs her to marry him. She says he's all talk and no action: when he shows her the divorce decree, they can talk. Sandy comes in because she wasn't the center of attention in other areas of the hospital. She tries to dismiss Luisa, but Art tells her to stay. He announces to Sandy that he is going through with the divorce and plans to marry Lu. He also takes the blame for the whole punching-the-girlfriend thing. Everyone is surprised, including the Patio. Is there an "Art Can Change" table?
Meanwhile, Tirso is in the church, promising the Virgin that if Ange is okay, he will be a better man. Is there a "Tirso Can Change" table? We should probably just put any optimists at one small table.
Padre comes in and says oh, did they let you out? Tirso sobs in his arms and Padre notices the gun in his waistband. Can Padre get the gun? Will he? If he aims it as Tirso, could he get him to take a shower? Must-see TV!
RGV Chick: I remembered watching that Telenovela. Lucia is having a rough time of it at the Murillo Mansion.
Steve, I actually watched El color de la pasion. I'm rather jealous you can watch it in the US right now. I think I missed parts of it, though, as it was moved to the
10 a.m slot at one point. In my country (Lithuania) they actually stopped showing Mexican TNs a couple of years ago. The last one they showed, which I suspect had been shown before, was Mi destino eres tu. So my usual way of telenovela watching isn't available and not being much of a TV person nowadays, I don't use any streaming services. I know how horrible that sounds:) I have En nombre del amor to blame for this strange phase I'm now experiencing. I just want something with a happy ending. A male lead who can whisper the way Zurita does would be great too, but I won't get my hopes up. So maybe there's something like El color de la pasion?
Bluelass, so my suspicions were correct- someone just has to be awful. I might just cry out of frustration. I get unreasonably annoyed with awful male leads and I suspect that their awfullness would be a huge turn-off for me. I'm beginning to wonder why the main couple can't just be loyal to each other. Let's make everyone else bad.
I suspect I addressed the wrong person in my comment.I'm sorry.I believe RGV chick was the one who responded. Feels very awkward.
195.) The constant winning by Psycho Barbara as she gleefully enjoys the difficult misfortune of Franco Santorro.
196.) Daddy Elizalde is pissed off at Jackass #2 Camilo for using the situation regarding Liliana's "kidnapping" to announce his engagement to Lovely Norton. We see Jackass #1 Anibal is amused on the situation regarding Jackass #2 Camilo's engagement for obvious reasons: saving the family name, not losing all of the $$$ from Power Milk Corp.,
197.) Psycho Barbara nagging at Jackass #2 Camilo for announcing his engagement, which he explains that an alliance with Lovely's "uncle" Steve Norton, Jr., is going to be an advantage for the Elizalde family's $$$$.
198.) Redhead praying to the Virgincita that she loves Eduardo/Franco, but she cannot because she's married to Mooching Damian & just before she continues, Psycho Barbara slithers to inform her Franco is about to leave. As Redhead leaves, we see Psycho Barbara glowering at the Virgincita.
199.) Bravo HQ: Artemio still upping the ante in pumping Liliana for information & talk. She never talks back to him at this moment because she's in her own little world right now. Artemion then hands Liliana his late mother's diary (Ana Gregoria) & tells her she's got lots of time to read stuff because she will NEVER leave this house anytime soon.
200.) The ghost of Ciro Palafox shows up to read the first couple of pages to Liliana: we see the flashbacks of Ana Gregoria & her little sister, Soledad (BOOM: JACKPOT BABY: I KNEW it all along).
It also shows Don Jeronimo Elizalde, the father of Daddy Elizalde.
201.) We see Dr. Obregon in some STUPID Charlie Chaplin outfit sitting in a Chinese restaurant with his nurse LOL.
202.) Casa Santorro: Nagging Gardenia (who's still on our damn nerves LOL) is gleefully telling Steve, Jr., that Jackass #2 Camilo is marrying Venus/Lovely. It's not surprising that Nagging Gardenia used insults regarding Venus.
203.) More nagging from Steve, Jr., going off on Eduardo/Franco, who wants to tell Redhead everything. Steve, Jr., predicting it will blow up in Eduardo/Franco's face.
204.) Now let's go back to the Bravo HQ: Psycho Barbara barges into Artemio's house. She says the Elizalde's are losing their funds very quickly, plus Liliana will have to go back to the Elizalde Mansion or some other residence.....just for Psycho Barbara to violently abuse the poor girl non-stop.
205.) Artemio then says Franco Santorro is NOT his real name. It seems like he knows Franco is really Eduardo Juarez. Psycho Barbara disagrees with this theory of Artemio's because she explains Franco is a businessman, who's in love with Clingy Erika & isn't a threat to both Psycho Barbara & Artemio & Co.,
206.) Once again: the topic goes back to Psycho Barbara's baby & the whereabouts! Back & forth between Psycho Barbara & Artemio. Wake me up when they find out Aurora is their daughter.
207.) Grupo Lactos: Jackass #1 Anibal FINALLY fires Creepy Vlad, but would prefer to avoid scandal. However, Creepy Vlad launches some warning shots at Jackass #1 Anibal (this will be key as we're in the closing stretch of this EPIC Telenovela).
Back at the convent: Aurora is scrubbing the floors over there while Santiago is back in Purification LOL.
Welcome, Waterlily!
I've been watching novelas since 1993 and if you can find the version of Corazon Salvaje made that year I highly recommend it. It's 80 episodes of sheer beauty with a full orchestral score.
qt #66
Gracias, Blue Lass Good stuff.
Medical emergency for a child = another Bingo square (or line?>) on he card. Despite the doctor's comment they seem o have gotten her to the hospital on time. Note hat Matt was the first out the door when Corina came in with the news.
Why did Luisa bother visiting Art in the hospital? Que estpida! I'll bet the ring is fake. Luisa is an idiot and Sandy has even less class than she attributes to Luisa.
Sandy is also a screaming hypocrite the way she kisses up to Dalia. Matt should be catching on.
So the DNA is positive and Leo has a tantrum. Who is declasee now?
Apologies in advance; #67 will be a little late.

Thanks, Blue Lass. Really enjoyed your take on the drama here.
"All the Montes and ex-Montes and half-Montes and wannabe-Montes are having a snipefest" caused my nose and windpipe to strangle with laughter. We need a good laugh as often as possible.
Props to Tito to being man enough to capture and transport the snake.
Tirso needs a monastic retreat or some type of low-key rest time.
If Sandy truly loved Matt, she would see how uncomfortable he is and would tone down her shrill delight at Matt's new status.
Sabina called Esmeralda about the accident; Esme did not believe her. Sab told Carlo. Another “No te preocupes” later he left.
Basurto questioned Sab re the incident. She and Leo told the story, and Sab said that after Angelia was taken in Tirso left. Carlo got to the restaurant and told Esme whom he assumed was jealous. He said he only had eyes for her. Beso, abrazo, y fin.
Padre G went to the hospital and did not tell Basurto that he had seen Tirso.
Dalia called Guillermo and told him about Leo's reacion to the big DNA reveal. She told him that Matt didn't want the inheritance. She only cared about him being recognized as a Montes. Guillermo answered that Leo had to respect that Matt was entitled to his share of he inheritance and that they should move into the main house. Matt, Sandy, Lorenzo, and Tito returned and she ended the call. Lorenzo talked about Tito being brave, then left the room. Sandy wanted to talk about the dinero but Matt said he was not interested. He managed to shut her up for the night.
Ange woke up the next morning saying she was nauseous. The doctor told her this was normal and a good sign. She wanted to go home but the doctor said she needed to stay another day so they could monitor her heart. Dalia and Padre G arrived with a balloon bouquet. Dalia put a picture of the Virgencita on her nightstand. She told them about Tirso killing the snake and then bringing her to the hospital. She didn't think Tirso was a bad person. Sab looked grim.
Berenice had to tell Eva she should not get her hopes up for a reconciliation with Art. Eva was still holding out for this. Sandy got home and told her to prepare for a divorce.
Luisa talked to Padre G who told her that if Art got a divorce he could not marry her in church. He told her that if they have bad comunication they could not have a good marriage. The icing on this cake was that he had no good opinion of Art's non-existent sincerity.
Val and Remi showed Padre G the plans they made for the soup kitchen. Padre G said that Matt would find this interesting. Val was a little disconcerted.
Dalia tried talking to Matt re the DNA results and Matt was not enthused about the meaning of this. Dalia said it was important for him to take his place as a Montes. She also said he could use the inheritance to help the Padre's project or to complete Don Patricio's equine dreams. Or... to unit this seriously dysfunctional family. She told him about the lawyer's suggestions, which he did not like.
Basurto tried questioning Lorenzo about the snake incident. He would not identify Tito, who was hiding in the stall and silently coaching him.
Basurto went back to his office and told Chacho to go home. After he leeft Tirso showed up, armed. His hand shook as Basurto tried to get him to give up the gun.
Matt went to Padre G about his new problem. He gave the same advice as Dalia. Set an example as a brother, make the ranch more profitable, be a caballero, etc.
Sandy told Eva about the DNA reveal which to her equaled dinero. Eva was not impressed. Sandy talked about doing anything they want and leaving and Eva said she didn' want to. Further, she had spoken to the doctor and said “You are not pregnant and Matt needs to be told.”
Matt approached Leo saying he was willing to forgive all the insults and that they should all live under the same roof as a family. Leo was not willing and said so. In the midst of this he heard his father's voice saying “Be careful what you say. You are both of my blood. You are here to be together. For once in your life don't defraud me.” Leo appeared to Matt to be in a daze “Are you alright?” he asked as Leo rubbed his eyes. Don Patricio went on “One hopes that one day you will come up to his level,” etc. [If you could make the rest out, please post.] Leo finally stopped hearing his conscience and looked up. “It's incredible how you envy me” [Leave it to a narcissist to say this.] He accused him of wanting his inheritance and Val. Val heard this, but stayed out of sight.
Basurto guilt-tripped Tirso sufficiently to get him to put the gun down and ask to be arrested. Basurto obliged.
Matt denied Leo's accusations and Leo would not believe him. He accused him and Dalia of being traitors. Matt said he would be moving in with Sandy and Dalia; Leo would have to get used to this and respect them. Leo told him he better not start anything with Val.
Eva and Sandy argued with Sandy saying “You better not say this to anyone” and Eva saying she didn't have to fake a pregnancy to keep Matt with her [Eva, you are just as delusional as she is]. Sandy threw back that her father had ditched her for another woman. Eva realized she had spawned a cruel bitch. Sandy picked up her purse and left.
Matt started packing his stuff for the move. Tito was packing, too, even mentioning Ramona [I thought they had released her].. Dalia said Magdalena helped her clean the rooms they would move into.
Magda was cleaning Matt and Sandy's room, which must be near Val's, as she was there. Sandy walked in and pretty much made them leave.
Dalia and Magda talked in Dalia's future room. Dalia commented on Sandy's bitchitude and Magda confided she was afraid to out herself to Val. Dalia was almost thinking it was overdue, but said the day will come.
Basurto called Leo to tell him Tirso turned himself in. After this call Sandy went into the study and Leo said she should not be working on his campaign because of what happened with the local SBA. He also told her that moving in was a serious mistake because it puts Matt and Val too close together. Sandy would not take that seriously and said she wold work on his campaign no matter what.
Val and Matt had an uncomfortable conversation about the DNA issue. She had originally told him him to accept the result and take the Montes name. She was now thinking he wasn't sincere in his statement he wasn't looking for an inheritance. He said something about Val being there temporarily and she mentioned Leo offering her “something real.”
The next morning Dalia visited Esme to tell her about Matt being a Montes. She started naming the puzzle pieces of Baby Boy, los Garcia-Durán, the Fire, Matt's arrival at La Noria, and Matt now being a peón. Although they still didn't get the picture, Esme was horrified. “Patricio was a monster!”
Padre G visited Tirso, who seemed remorseful. He still believed himself to be Ange's father. Padre told him that being in jail was freeing him from guilt and rage. He had not deprived Ange of her mother and saved her life all at once.
Esme wondered how many other heirs Don Patricio had spawned. Dalia said she was upset at not knowing the identity of Matt's birth mother. “He's the same age as my son would have been,” Esme said. “But he can't be your son,” said Dalia. Esme talked about the exhumation of the remains in her son's grave, then asked “Bu why has Matt's mother not appeared?”
Ange did not want to eat. She was still upset about Tirso. Sab told her that Carlo would soon visit her with treats. She asked Sab if he was her boyfriend. Leo said nothing. He did not look happy.
RGV chick, no, I haven't seen amar y muerte. Is this one by televisa or telemundo? I wonder if in my country they showed a single telemundo TN that I actually finished watching. Might have to give this one a go, though.
The snake was dead, so Tito didn't capture it. As a rule, little boys don't seem to be squeamish about things like snakes... or tarantulas.
Paloma, I agree about Tirso. He also needs to prove that Sabina killed his wife in order to wipe his record clean.
Sandy doesn't really love Matt. He's handsome and likely to be good in bed (standard requirement for a TN hero), but the money she thinks he will inherit is the main attraction for her. The bigger problem is that she doesn't want the same things in life that he does. He wants a decent income sufficient to have a modest house and to support kids, probably some pets, and the country life. The Big City is vacation territory for him.
She wants money, the city life, designer clothes, attention, and no responsibilities. She doesn't even work (Eva and Art fell down on the job there) and I will bet she didn't finish college or didn't even go in the first place. She is so completely clueless about her behavior on that viral video as to not understand why more than half the invited guests to her wedding didn't show up. She didn't even think about the consequences for Artemio when she insulted the local SBA in that video. You'd think she would, as she tends to treat him like an ATM.
She has cheated on Matt more than once; we don't yet know how many times or with how many men in the ten years they've been a couple. We know about Leo and about Uriel and the yet unnamed photographer who took the racy photos that will eventually bite her on the tush. The fact that she isn't creeped out by having cheated with Leo is very telling right along with pulling a (faux) pregnancy entrapment on Matt. She can't keep that up for much longer. He can divorce her over it and get a Catholic annulment, which Padre G will happily provide when the time comes.
Thanks, TF.
I don't think Nora really intended to get pregnant. This would be an attention-getting thing if she succeeded and it would hurt Lucia even more, but I don't think she would like her mother's wrath or possible disapproval from her dad. She would definitely not enjoy pregnancy or motherhood. But she definitely enjoys Rod's fear more than she enjoyed his rod.
While talking to Amador was the smart thing to do, I have he impression that Amador is still clueless about these mother and daughter psychopaths. What I am still trying to figure out is why Brigida would have preferred her son to go for Nora. She would need an IQ in the low double digits for that.
I should alert everyone that no daytime Telenovelas will be airing today due to the UEFA Champions League.
Waterlily, "Amar a Muerte" was produced by W Studios and Lemon Studios for Televisa. I hope you find it!
I totally agree with you about Nora, Urban. She likely just wanted to scare Rodrigo. History repeated itself because she did the exact same thing that Rebeca did to Magdalena.
Brigida certainly has a weird way of thinking. If she truly thinks or wants to think Nora is pristine or something, she is very wrong.
Have any of you here watched simplemente Maria? I mean the one released in 2015, not the old version. It wasn't recapped here, so was it really bad? I just got curious because I liked the theme song and checked some scenes to see what it's all about.
UA, you are correct in saying the snake was dead. I was thinking that Tito was still a little hesitant about wrapping it up and handling it. Of course, it turned out to be a good thing that he did bring it to the hospital.
With Sandy an actual resident of the hacienda, as well as being wife of a Montes, I expect her to start showing off even more than usual and trying to boss everyone. I'm not sure Minerva will stand for this, nor will Sabina. We'll see about the others.
How soon will it come to light that she's NOT pregnant? That will remove any reason to treat her with special consideration.
OT for waterlily
I started watching Simplemente Maria. I was ok with the early chapters, but then it started feeling too sappy and boring for me. Sorry to offend anyone who loved it, but I just didn't get into it for the long run.
Paloma, I think you're right. Neither Minerva nor Sabine will stand for it. Here's hoping she is overheard talking about this with Leo and I hope that if the one who overhears this isn't Matt that it's Dalia or Magdalena.
