QT #62, Part 1

Wedding Reception = A-plus

Cami dances with Juanito, Dalia dances with her lawyer, Minerva and Aaron stay at the table to square-dance with their alternating shot glasses and bottles of beer. Carlo asks Esme to dance, but she turns him down. Art shows up, dressed appropriately for once in a dark suit and almost-tasteful tie, and dances with Sandy. (She’s obviously taller. It’s a cinch we won’t see him dancing with Bere.) The party rapidly levels up to a free-for-all with groom-tossing, a conga line, glow sticks, leis, pool noodles, and funny hats. I really, really wish I was there.

Luisa and Vicente run into each other on the street and say let’s call each other “tu” and also wouldn’t it be funny if we both went to the wedding? (Um, are you sure?) Artemio gives them the evil eye when they show up, but Vicente says he won’t do anything in front of the gov’s rep, right? (Are you double-sure?)

The gov’s rep flirts with Bere. Dalia catches the bouquet. The novios finally drive off in Leo’s pickup truck, which has to frost Sandy a little.

 

QT #62, Part 2

Honeymoon = F-minus

Sandy is decidedly un-charmed by the rustic mountain inn. Why couldn’t he have taken her to Acapulco? (Because it’s The Only Hotel In Rural Mexico and they have a rendezvous with destiny. Duh!) She falls asleep while he’s in the shower and gets really nasty when he tries to wake her up, so he gets re-dressed and goes for a night-time stroll…right into the path of Valeria and the thunderous strains of “Una Oportunidad.” Why did you follow me, I didn’t follow you, stop talking to me, I have to talk to you, leave me alone, etc. Yawn.

Leo phones Sandy to talk about the DNA test, which is news to her. She notices Mat’s gone, throws a coat on over her baby-doll nightie, and catches him with Val. Why did you follow her, I didn’t follow her, lather, rinse, repeat.

From the bar, Leo calls his lawyer, who advises him to make nice with Mateo. Then Mateo stomps in and orders a shot of tequila, leave the bottle. They bicker, Leo throws some money at him and stalks off, and Mateo decides to just drink directly from the bottle.

 

QT #62, Part 3

In other news:

Aaron gets blotto, but that’s not news. Minnie pesters him about the “token” for the Swiss bank account, and he burbles that she’ll never get her hands on it becaush it shidden at the hoshpital. Off she goes with Servando in tow, leaving the doc in a snorting heap at the foot of the bed.

Tirso’ laundry-buddy pays off a guard, but it’s not clear what for. Tirso finds out he’s being transferred to a maximum-security facility and looks even more deranged.

As the wedding festivities wind down, Esme agrees to a last dance with Carlo but breaks it off. Sabina takes her place. Dalia and her lawyer say let’s call each other “tu” and go back to the hacienda for coffee. Art tosses Luisa & Vicente out but is photographed doing so. Hopefully it will come back to haunt him.

We close on Mateo more than halfway through his bottle and looking adorably drunk. I’m sure that will solve everything.

My thoughts were similar--if you thought the wedding was bad, just wait for the honeymoon!

Of course there had to be another confrontation among our tragic trio--Matt, Sandy, Val.

I can't believe how stupid Aaron is, letting Minnie manipulation him so shamelessly.

Tirso just can't stay out of trouble.

Since Dalia caught the wedding bouquet, she and her lawyer may be headed to the altar.

Leo always has to play lord of the manor and put down Matt as a lowly peon. Too bad he'll never be a decent human being.
 

Sorry, that was letting Minnie manipulate him. Too late at night.

QT #62

Great work, Blue Lass. I nominate Minerva and Aaron stay at the table to square-dance with their alternating shot glasses and bottles of beer. for the sidebar. Brilliant!

Aaron seems on his way to becoming an alcoholic. If anyone messes with the DNA results I hope he's on the ball.

Sandy just gets bitchier with every episode. Matt's facial expressions from prior to the ceremony showed his heart isn't in this marriage. Visions of dollar signs danced before her eyes during her phone conversation with Leo. No doubt she would demand that Matt sell his share of the inheritance so they could move to The Big City where he would be out of his element. The only good that could come from this would be Sandy finding out she's out of her depth.

I am truly beginning to doubt that this little harpy is pregnant. I think this was a scheme she cooked up before paying Uriel that first visit. Just as we have come to know that if nobody sees an actual corpse or (sometimes) the casket is closed at a funeral the person isn't dead, we can surmise that if we don't see a female character actually handling a pregnancy test she isn't pregnant.

I thought Minnie had already transferred money with that earlier phone call to the bank. We can only hope that transfer didn't already happen.

For those who have been asking about recaps for “Entre el Amor y el Odio”, it seems that all the regular recappers are busy with recapping other TNs, but please feel free to post a summary or cliff notes that you would like to be discussed. ECDLP #4

- Ricardo takes Adriana to the hospital
- Alonso and Nazario arrive at their hotel. Alonso calls the house.
- Mario goes to see Rebeca but she rejects him.
- Rebeca answers Alonso’s call but tells him Adriana went to mass. He gives her his hotel information.
- Ricardo leaves Adriana a note and her keys and tells a nurse that he has to leave. The nurse agrees to call Adriana’s family to pick her up.
- The doctor assures Adriana that she is fine.
- Brigida tells Amador he should turn Ricardo into the police. Amador refuses.
- The nurse gives Adriana the note. It reads “Rebeca will want to manipulate you. Do not trust her.” Just then Rebeca arrives but Adriana doesn’t want to talk about what happened until they get home. Rebeca tells her that Alonso called.
- Clara finds Ruperto beat up. He wants to get into the Gaxiola/Murillo residence.
- Adriana tells Rebeca that Ricardo took her to the hospital and told her everything. Rebeca tries to deny everything. Adriana wants her to leave the house.
- Adriana opens a present that Alonso left for her: a pearl necklace and a note.
- Magdalena calls the house and tells Adriana she’s about to enter the retreat and won’t be able to make/receive phone calls.
- Rebeca sees the necklace and note Alonso left for Adriana. She looks at a picture of Alonso and says she won’t lose him.
- Adriana walks in and confronts Rebeca about being in love with Alonso. Rebeca says she hates the baby Adriana is carrying.
- They take their argument out of the bedroom to the walkway/hallway. Rebeca pushes Adriana against the railing and it breaks causing Adriana to fall from the second floor into a glass table. Rebeca looks down in horror.
- Clara rushes in and says Adriana is dead. Rebeca realizes Adriana is breathing. She calls an ambulance.
- The business meeting in Brazil is a success.
- The paramedics take Adriana. Rebeca asks Clara what she saw. Clara asks if they were arguing, Rebeca denies it.
- Alonso tries calling the house but can’t get through. He guesses the phone might be off the hook. He asks Nazario to call Trini.
- Amador is admiring his and Brigida’s son, Rodrigo.
- Rebeca is at the hospital waiting for news on Adriana. The doctor tells her to locate Alonso.
- Trini arrives at the house and sees the mess. Clara tells her what happened. Trini sees the phone off the hook. She calls the number Rebeca wrote down. Nazario answers and she tells him the news. Nazario tells Alonso about Adriana. Alonso berates himself. He wants to return to Puebla straight away.
- Magdalena rushes out of the mass after feeling anguish. She doesn’t want to return home, however.
- Trini arrives at the hospital and finds Rebeca. Rebeca doesn’t know anything yet about Adriana’s condition. She tells Rebeca that Alonso knows.
- Clara has let Ruperto in Adriana’s house but immediately regrets it. He takes the pearl necklace and looks around more.
- Alonso can’t get a flight out.
- Clara feels guilty about betraying her employers.
- The doctor tells Rebeca and Trini that they performed a C section and that the baby GIRL is fine but Adriana is in a coma and it’s unlikely she’ll pull through.



 

Amor y Odio

I have been recording Amor y Odio but haven’t gotten the chance to start watching. If I can’t today I MIGHT be able to do so tomorrow since I usually catch up on MEPS every morning but since it’s not on today I won’t have anything else to watch tomorrow morning. I don’t want to promise anything since I have already been recapping ECDLP but if I can post highlights tomorrow of the first two episodes to start (since that’s how it’s being aired - two episodes a day) I will try and do so.
 

Entre El Amor Y El Odio #1

- Octavio and Marcial are driving to Guanajuato
- Octavio’s uncle Fernando is on his deathbed and wants to see Octavio. His sister Josefa is by his bedside.
- Octavio remembers being stood up by Frida at the altar and arguing with Fernando.
- They run into Ana Cristina who is riding a horse. Marcial claims she is Fernando’s lover when in reality Fernando only regards her as the daughter he doesn’t have.
- Josefa says Octavio’s late father Nicolás (her other brother) poisoned Octavio’s mind.
- Fernando tells Ana C that a woman named Leonela was the love of his life. He is about to say “Leonela was also....” but dies before finishing his words.
- A man named Jose Alfredo expresses his love for Ana
- Josefa remembers that Nicolás never loved his son, Octavio
- Octavio arrives at the house and learns of his uncle’s death. Everyone attending the viewing is asked to leave by Octavio. Octavio says his goodbyes to his uncle.
- Ana and Jose Alfredo arrive at the house. Marcial is complaining that Fernando didn’t put him in his will. Marcial guesses Ana will inherit something from Fernando. Marcial is responsible for making Octavio hate Fernando.
- Marcial remembers Octavio reading a fake letter where Nicolás says Fernando is responsible for his (N) misfortunes and likely death.
- Josefa tells Octavio that Ana cared greatly about Fernando.
- Octavio has no emotion over his uncle’s death and Josefa is shocked by this.
- Marcial calls Frida who is with her aunt. She doesn’t want to talk to him but Marcial relays the news about Octavio returning to Guanajuato.
- Jose Alfredo’s parents Magdalena and Rodolfo prepare to go to the funeral. Magdalena notes Rodolfo looks tired and pale. Rodolfo wants to tell their sons Jose A and Gabriel that one of them isn’t their biological son. Magdalena refuses. Rodolfo passes out suddenly
- We see Gabriel street fighting to make money.
- Octavio asks Marcial about Frida
- Ana gives Octavio a message from Fernando that Fernando wished Octavio happiness and apologized for everything he may have done wrong. Octavio thinks she’s feigning sadness and trying to seduce him.
- Ana denies being Fernando’s lover. She slaps Octavio. Octavio forcibly kisses her.

ECDLP #5

- Trini can’t believe what’s happening. Rebeca asks the doctor if she can see Adriana. The doctor relents despite saying that Adriana is unconscious in ICU.
- Alonso and Nazario are informed that two spots might be open on a flight back to Puebla.
- Rebeca is by Adriana’s hospital bed and asks for forgiveness and says Alonso can’t know the truth. A nurse signals for Rebeca to leave the room.
- Rebeca tells Trini she needs to talk to Clara and let her know what’s going on. Trini says they also need to get in contact with Magdalena.
- Trini goes to see baby Lucia. The nurse tells her that the baby is healthy.
- Rebeca returns home and flashes back to the accident. She calls for Clara but realizes Clara is gone and that Alonso’s study is a mess.
- Brigida tells Amador that she heard that an ambulance was at the Gaxiola residence
- Back at the hospital Rebeca tells Trini her suspicions about Clara robbing the house.
- Ruperto has cashed in the stolen items. Clara had called the hospital to ask about Adriana and feels worried and guilty.
- Brigida and Amador arrive at the hospital and Rebeca tells them what happened. Brigida makes some insensitive comments and Rebeca asks her to leave. Amador stays with Rebeca.
- Trini is at the church and has told the priest what happened. She asks him to help her locate Magdalena.
- Alonso and Nazario have arrived at the hospital. Rebeca updates them. Alonso is angry at Rebeca for not keeping her promise to take care of Adriana.
- Alonso forces his way into the ICU and Adriana’s hospital room. He promises to never leave her again and begs her to get better. The monitor begins to beep rapidly then flatlines. A nurse comes to turn off the monitor but leaves the room straight after without saying anything.
- The doctor goes to the waiting room to give the news. Rebeca asks if Adriana woke up and talked before she died. The doctor doubts it. Amador offers to take care of the funeral arrangements. He calls Brigida.
- Nazario is able to get Alonso out of the room. Alonso promises Adriana that he will love her forever. He feels guilty for leaving and says he can’t live without Adriana. Trini arrives and Rebeca confirms Adriana died. Trini tells Rebeca that they need to tell Alonso about the baby.
- A boy stops Rebeca on her way out of the hospital and gives her an anonymous note that reads “I know you killed your sister. If you want the secret kept, you’ll need to pay.” Ruperto watches from afar.
- Alonso, Nazario and Rebeca return to see the mess in the house. Alonso wants Adriana to be buried right away but won’t have the strength to attend.
- After the burial Magdalena says she wants to see the baby so she, Nazario and Trini head to the hospital.
- Rebeca finds the combination to the safe in Alonso’s office and takes out cash.
- Nazario finds it strange that Rebeca has shed no tears over Adriana’s death.
- Rebeca, Nazario, Trini, Amador and Brigida are at the burial. Magdalena arrives as well.
- Magdalena wants to know what happened and where Alonso is.
- Rebeca gives Ruperto the money and tells him that he and Clara better leave Puebla.
- Alonso wakes up on the floor to hear the baby crying and sees Magdalena holding the baby in her arms. She says Adriana protected the baby until her last moments.
- Magdalena asks Rebeca what happened in the house and Rebeca says Clara robbed them and disappeared. Magdalena isn’t sure she will return to the retreat. She tells Rebeca that the baby is home with Alonso. Rebeca tells Alonso she will help him raise Lucia.
- Alonso tells the baby Adriana will always be with them
- 24 years later, Lucia has grown into a beautiful young woman.

Entre El Amor Y El Odio #2

- After sharing a passionate kiss, Octavio tells Ana that now she should know who she’s dealing with and that he also knows exactly who she is.
- Jose Alfredo tells Marcial he’s worried about his parents. The doctor says Rodolfo is okay but agrees with Magdalena that he needs to return home to rest. Rebeca relays this to Jose Alfredo.
- Ana tells her grandfather, Manuel, about meeting Octavio and the rumor about her being Fernando’s lover. She says she won’t allow anyone to stain her reputation.
- Octavio doesn’t believe Marcial lied to him about Ana Cristina.
- Frida’s aunt tells her she has an ideal relationship already and shouldn’t care about Octavio
- Octavio sees Ana and Jose Alfredo hugging.
- Gabriel returns home and Rebeca sees the condition he’s in and is worried. He says he brought some money and she asks where he got it from but he avoids the question and tells her to put the money away.
- Rebeca tells Gabriel not to be inconsiderate because he doesn’t know what just happened.
- Octavio asks Josefa about the relationship between Fernando and Ana Cristina. Josefa says Fernando never stopped caring about Octavio. She says Fernando and Ana weren’t lovers and she won’t allow Octavio to talk that way about his uncle.
- Jose Alfredo and Gabriel are worried about their dad.
- Josefa laments the change in Octavio. Octavio apologizes to her.
- Jose Alfredo tells his dad that Marcial will visit him soon. Rebeca expresses wariness about Marcial.
- Octavio is at the church praying to the Virgin for forgiveness. Ana Cristina enters and sees Octavio.
- Marcial prevents the workers from attending Fernando’s funeral.
- Rebeca expresses out loud to herself that Magdalena is very fortunate in life while she is not.
- The workers still decide to go to the funeral despite Marcial’s orders. Marcial doesn’t think Octavio will stay in Guanajuato and will return to Miami so then that will mean he (M) will be in charge of things.
- Octavio wonders why he had never met Ana Cristina before.
- Rebeca says to a sleeping Rodolfo that he will always be the love of her life.
- Marcial says he knows someone that will do his orders without question. Marcial doesn’t hide his attraction to Magdalena.
- Ana Cristina tells Octavio about Fernando’s last words and that he died before saying something more.
- Everyone gives their condolences to Josefa. Octavio meets Manuel.
- Jose Alfredo tells Ana that if Octavio ever hurts her he will kill him.
- Marcial offers to take Magdalena home. He thinks to himself that he hopes Rodolfo dies.
- Magdalena tells Josefa and Octavio that she hopes Ana and Jose Alfredo will marry soon,
- Rodolfo asks Gabriel why he’s never in the shoe shop.
- Octavio can’t stop thinking about Ana. Josefa reiterates to him that Ana and Fernando weren’t lovers. They were like father and daughter.
- Josefa encourages Octavio to find Frida.
- Frida’s husband bribes her with a blank check to keep her happy.
- Octavio agrees to find Frida but Josefa still warns him about her. Frida was pressured by Fernando to leave Octavio.
- Josefa notes that Frida likely only wanted Octavio’s fortune.
- Manuel receives a visit from a young man named Marcelino who benefited from money that Manuel would regularly send to an orphanage. Marcelino is of age and now wants to live with Manuel.
- Frida tells Marcial she isn’t interested in seeing Octavio. Marcial says to himself that he’ll find a way for Frida to return. He quickly finds her and threathens her.
- Ana overhears Octavio insulting her in front of Josefa. Ana says she hates Octavio. He reciprocates the feeling. Josefa says that even when they can’t admit it, they’ve clearly fallen in love.


 

ECDLP #5

No te preocupes.

I have always wondered how they shot that fall. It gave me he shakes. I'm trying to remember what we diagnosed Rebecca with back in the day. Her hypocrisy blew my mind.

BTW, that was the most stupid hairstyle on her in these last two episodes.

QT #63 Part 1 of 4

Matt continued to drink from the bottle [Do not do this. If this stuff was real he would die tomorrow of aldohol poisoning]. He then left the bar and sat outside.

Minnie and Servando sat in the hospital cafeteria. The wedding reception redux was still going on in the town square. He went to distract the guards while she took Aaron's keys to the file cabinet in his office. She found what he was looking for, put the paper in her purse, and returned the file to the drawer. She locked the cabinet and made sure his appointment book was in its previous position on his desk before she left.

Chacho – who was also drunk – packed his clothes to leave the pensión. Eva didn't want him to leave in that condition but Berenice didn't try to stop him. As he said she would dream about him Eva covered her ears. Berenice saw him to the door.

Luisa went to Artemio's house. He entered and they had the same argument for the 950th time. She denied that Vicente was her lover, saying he was a friend. “You don't have any friends without my approval” was enough. She told him they would lead separate lives from then on. [So why did she go back?] He raised his voice – and hopefully his blood pressure – again. She said she was leaving in the morning and not returning to her mother. She refused to sleep in the same bed with him. He ranted, then sat on the couch.

Carlo and Esmeralda met in the soon-to-be restaurant. She said she knew what he wanted but was unsure of her own wants. One embrace later she told him she loved him [WTF???]

Servando led Baurto and a uniformed officer entered Dalia's house to arrest Tito... which turned out to be Tito's nightmare, Dalia came in to check on him. He did not explain. She offered him her special hot chocolate and he gleefully accepted.

Matt knocked on Val's door, drunk as a sailor on shore leave. He carried on about “You stole my dreams. Before you came I was happy” and within seconds other guests came out to scold him. He said he could not sleep. The other men thought he and Val had a lovers' quarrel. He tried explaining that he was married and one of the men tried to lead him to his “other wife.” Val stopped them and took Matt into her room. He stumbled, falling on top of her on the bed. She got out from under, fixed him an Alka-Seltzer, ad found him nearly asleep. He opened his eyes and said “I'd give my whole life to have had you at the altar with my baby in your womb.” She looked afraid and/or a little creeped out as he rolled over and passed out. She then called Remi for help.
 

QT #63 Part 2 of 4

Esme thanked Carlo for buying the saloon to change it. She felt that this would finally put her thoughts, etc., of Don Patricio to rest.

Remi and Val took Matt back to his room. He collapsed against the door, unconscious. Remi looked at Val and asked “Ready?” “For what?” “To run for your life!” He knocked n the door and they ran. Sandy opened the door to some comic-style opera music as Matt slumped down onto his back at her feet.

Morning came and Val was prepped for the photo shoot. The stylists talked about missing her on the runway. Breakfast was delivered, followed by Leo who added nothing but potential anxiety.

Matt and Sandy took breakfast in the hotel restaurant. He had no memory of the night before when she demanded to know who brought him back in that condition. She started screeching at him when he told her to calm down, then got up and said “You don't mock me or the baby I'm having” as she threw a cloth napkin at him and left.

Corina was gossiping about the wedding reception when Minnie entered the kitchen on a coffee quest. She served her and Minnie – who was sober for a change – said nothing scandalous surprised her about Sabina. However Corina put her foot in it when she mentioned Dalia and Guillermo, causing Dalia to tell her to zip it.... which she didn't as she went on about the other guests until she used the word locos to describe Sandy and Matt. Dalia ordered her to leave the kitchen and get her other work done.

Sandy saw Leo and bitched about Matt & Val. She said she had a fight with Matt, he left, and returned in the wee hours completely drunk. She was sure something was up between him and Val. Leo said Val was sober and working. When Sandy said Matt was so bombed nothing happened on their wedding night Leo laughed. He suggested they remedy that. The kissed and headed toward his room.

Carlo told Dalia he was in love with Esme. She was shocked.

 

QT #63 Part 3 of 4

Two women paid Luisa a visit at the café to commend her courage for reporting Art's abuse. One showed her scars her husband had given her. Luisa said they had to unite. She had not known that other women shared her problem. They left to report and Art – who had been near the door – came in with sarcastic applause and comments. She told him off.

Leo called Minnie who told him about Sab's behavior at the wedding. He told her he didn't care about gossip and she reminded him about the importance of image since he hoped to become alcalde.

The widow of Raul Martinez approached Vicente, convinced that Leo had killed her husband, whose body had not been found. She wanted justice. He said he does, too, but was now unemployed and could not help her.

As the photo shoot was being prepped Val talked to Tito, reassuring that everything will be alright. Matt and Sandy were there, with Sandy using the Z word to refer to Val. He got on her case about that and doubled down with the double M slur. Clare Valencia, Beauty Director of Avon, approached and Sandy showed herself to be exactly thar by saying she was Val's best friend. Clare said something complimentary re Val. Sandy would have turned that into something negative except that Clare said “You're very pretty, too. Would you like to have your makeup done for some photos? Avon is committed to displaying the beauty of the Mexican woman.”

That was like giving catnip to a lynx.

Val, Remi, and Leo were all aware of Matt and Sandy's presence. Remi talked about Val breaking the hearts of the two men. Matt stared at he as Remi when to greet Clare.

 

QT #63 Part 4 of 4

Tirso and Fantasma made plans to escape in the laundry truck by hiding in the bins.

Minnie played with her tablet. Aaron arrived, interrupting her.

Aaron had been at the hospital and realized that Minnie had gotten him drunk to facillitate her snooping. She contemptuously dropped the papers on the floor in front of him, quoting the saying about a thief stealing from a thief. He denied being a thief and called her out on using him for her schemes. She said insulting things about his medical knowledge and he thanked her for the pretext he needed to tell her to go to hell. He picked up the key and the papers and left.

- A 24 year old Lucia opens the window to her bedroom and looks outside with a smile on her face. She wears the cross necklace Adriana gave to Alonso before her death.
- Alonso enters her bedroom to exchange morning greetings. He is pensive that Lucia will getting married and moving out soon. He wants Lucia to start working at the factory but she wants her independence. Alonso notes how much like Adriana Lucia is.
- Lucia tells Alonso that she and Rebeca will travel to Mexico City to pick up her wedding dress and visit Magdalena to give her the wedding invitation.
- Rebeca asks Alonso if she’s been a good wife to him all of these years. He confirms.
- Lucia expresses interest in being close to her younger sister, Nora. Nora seems disinterested.
- Lucia tells Rebeca that she has to stop by her apartment real quick then they can leave to the city.
- Alonso is at the office and receives an underwhelming budget report prepared by Amador’s son Rodrigo. Amador claims he wrote the report.
- Nora complains about the fuss over Lucia’s wedding. Rebeca says that she (R) is the only mother figure Lucia knows.
- Alonso tells Nazario he isn’t sure Rodrigo will be a suitable husband for Lucia.
- Nora tells Lucia that Rebeca left without her.
- In the city, our galan Marcelo meets his brother Federico for lunch. Marcelo says that their mom is worried about Fede. Fede says his only “problem” is being in love. Fede asks Marcelo for money to buy flowers for his woman.
- Amador tells Rodrigo he needs to prove himself and his capabilities to Alonso.
- Rebeca visits Magdalena and claims Lucia couldn’t come. Magdalena is happy to see Adriana’s name (as Lucia’s mother) on the invitation. Magdalena asks Rebeca if she is truly happy with Alonso. She tells Rebeca that Rebeca knows that Alonso will always love Adriana.
- Nora goes to the office and whines to Alonso about no one caring about her. Alonso invites her to lunch. Nora reveals that Rebeca went to the city alone. Alonso is surprised.
- Rebeca checks into a hotel. She remembers Magdalena’s words about Alonso and Adriana’s love. Federico arrives and they hit the sheets.
- Nora visits Rodrigo in his office and flirts with him. Amador walks in and Nora quickly makes her exit
- Brigida visits Lucia and gives her a mock bouquet made with feathers and ribbons. Brigida asks where Rebeca is then soon leaves.
- Federico wants to see Rebeca more often and wants her to leave her husband. Alonso calls Rebeca and she ignores his call in favor of round two with Federico.
- At the restaurant, Nora complains about the focus on the wedding. She hates being compared to Lucia.
- Fede wants to spend more time with Rebeca. Rebeca ignores another call from Alonso.
- Lucia and Trini shop for her wedding bouquet. Lucia says she wishes her relationship with Nora was better. She thinks Nora hates her and Trini says it’s just jealousy.
- Rebeca calls Alonso back and he wants to know why Lucia didn’t go with her. Rebeca makes some excuse. She baits him by asking if he thinks she’s meeting with a lover and if he’s jealous.
- Federico visits his mom, Milagros, and nana, Rafaela. He claims he had lunch with coworkers and also will be spending the evening with them.
- Lucia asks Nora how lunch with their dad went. Nora says it went badly because the conversation was about comparisons between her and Lucia and how Lucia is much smarter than Nora etc etc Lucia says that’s not true. Nora says it isn’t Lucia’s fault that she is the daughter of Alonso’s great love. Everyone knows her dad was madly in love with Lucia’s mom. Lucia notes she didn’t know her mom. Nora claims Lucia doesn’t appreciate what Rebeca has done for her. Lucia says she isn’t Nora’s enemy.
- Milagros asks Federico if he’s meeting up with a woman. Federico asks her to trust him. Milagros wants to know what Fede is hiding. Marcelo wants Fede to trust and confide in him. Fede says he’s madly in love with a woman named ADRIANA Murillo and would do anything for her.
 

Entre El Amor Y El Odio #3

- Octavio and Ana Cristina are shocked that Josefa thinks they are in love with each other.
- Josefa doesn’t want them to repeat hers and Moises’ “tragic” love story. Moises eventually became a priest.
- Marcial tells Frida he could throw her in jail if she doesn’t obey him. He takes the necklace she’s wearing off her neck. He takes the blank check.
- Marcial wants her to help him convince Octavio to sell him the family business.
- Manuel shows Marcelino his room and introduces him to Ana Cristina
- Jose Alfredo learns the workers will lose a day’s pay for attending the funeral. He decides to do something about it.
- Josefa insists Octavio stay until they read Fernando’s will. Octavio reluctantly agrees. Josefa wonders if Octavio leaves who will be in charge of the factory.
- Marcial visits a woman named Rosalia in a nightclub.
- Octavio faces the workers. Jose Alfredo tries to fight him. Octavio assures everyone that they won’t lose the day’s payment.
- Frida tells her aunt Cayetana about Marcial’s threats.
- Ana Cristina is upset with Jose Alfredo for almost fighting with Tobias, a lackey of Marcial’s. Jose Alfredo wants Ana to be with him and wonders if she’s in love with another. She remembers Josefa’s words.
- Ana agrees to marry JA but he thinks she just feels obligated.
- Octavio and Ana think to themselves that they’d never fall in love with each other.
- One of the workers, Vicente, clashes with Marcial.
- Manuel wants Ana to continue her studies. Ana tells him she accepted JA’s marriage proposal. Manuel doesn’t think it’s a good idea if she doesn’t love JA.
- Rodolfo insists on returning to work and doesn’t want Magdalena to worry. JA wonders why his dad is working. Rodolfo needs to have a serious conversation with Gabriel. JA tells his dad that Ana accepted his proposal.
- Octavio tells Ana that she and Manuel need to move out. She refuses to give up the horse Fernando gifted her.
- Octavio thinks Ana is a natural beauty. Marcial brings Octavio a pair of boots. Marcial thinks Octavio is leaving.
- Octavio tells Marcial about the workers going to see him. And also that he told Ana to leave.
- Manuel is shocked that Octavio told Ana to return the horse.
- Marcial tells Octavio that Ana plans to marry Jose Alfredo.
- Ana tells Josefa that Octavio kicked her and her grandfather out. Josefa agrees to sell Ana the house so they can stay.
- Octavio thinks to himself that he’s not happy that Ana returned the horse.
- The doctor tells Magdalena that Rodolfo is dying. Magdalena doesn’t want Rodolfo to know.
- Josefa tells Octavio that he’s letting Ana and Manuel stay in their house. Octavio storms out. Josefa hopes his soul heals.
- Octavio wonders why Fernando (supposedly) had an affair with Ana.
- Frida returns to Octavio’s house.
- Octavio tells Ana she doesn’t fool him. He tells her to leave. They both admit their feelings but say it’s hate. They kiss

I have to think that Rebecca took shameless advantage of Alonso's tragic situation and he wasn't in his right mind when he married her. He couldn't have been, and possibly Magdalena wasn't there long enough to be the voice of reason he needed. No doubt that Rebecca kept her nastiness hidden from him and only let it rip when alone with her sisters... one at a time.

Magdalena's sanity was at stake. She had to have run from the mansion ASAP because Rebecca wouldn't have left it. She would have continued to be the bane of Magdalena's existence.

I had forgotten this, but at least the actress playing the mature Brigida doesn't have that same annoying voice as the younger actress.

Obviously nothing is ever enough for Rebecca. She never learned about "Be careful what you wish for."
 

Entre El Amor y el Odio #4

- After breaking the kiss, Ana runs off in the pouring rain.
- Magdalena is praying for Rodolfo. Rodolfo walks and tells Magdalena that Jose Alfredo and Ana are getting married.
- Josefa tells Octavio that someone is waiting for him in the library. Octavio is stunned to see Frida.
- Octavio figures Frida is there because she learned of Fernando’s death. He wants to know why she left him at the altar.
- Marcelino asks Ana if she ran into Octavio. She confirms.
- Frida tells Octavio that she knew Fernando didn’t like her for Octavio. She felt she wasn’t worthy of Octavio’s love. She’s says Fernando threatened her that he would disown/disinherit Octavio.
- Frida says with Fernando dead she has no way to prove to Octavio how Fernando really was. She wanted to protect Octavio because she still loves him.
- Jose Alfredo’s family is happy about his impending wedding. Rebeca tries to find out what’s wrong with Magdalena.
- Rodolfo collapses in pain.
- Octavio offers to take Frida back to the city. Frida tells Marcial their plan is working.
- Ana remembers the kiss in the rain and the words exchanged.
- Ana and Doña Consuelo chat. Ana says she misses her mother. She expresses that she isn’t in love with Jose Alfredo.
- Ana admits she hates Octavio. Consuelo also says what Ana really feels is love.
- Rodolfo doesn’t Gabriel to call the doctor when Gabriel sees him in pain.
- Cayetana visits her sister Rosalia at the nightclub. They haven’t talked in 20 years. Rosalia says after she gave birth she wasn’t fit to be a mother so she gave her baby up for adoption.
- Gabriel accepts a fight because he needs money.
- Frida and Octavio have dinner together and see Ana and Jose Alfredo dining at the same restaurant.
- Octavio proposes to Frida and Ana and Jose Alfredo overhear. Jose Alfredo tells Ana they can marry in one month.
- Rebeca wants to know what’s going on with Gabriel. He tells her she isn’t his mother to be scolding him and meddling.
- Octavio sees Ana at Fernando’s tomb. He thinks to himself how much he hates her. Marcial sees her then Octavio walks up.
- Ana tells Octavio she will pay Josefa for the house. Josefa didn’t gift it to her.
- Marcial lets the dog loose on purpose and it bites Octavio. Ana wants to see the injury.
- Ana tries to leave but Octavio stops her and kisses her.
- Moises and Josefa talk about their past romantic relationship. Her mother didn’t want them to marry.
- Josefa tells Moises that Octavio wants to know who Leonela is.
- Marcial walks in to see Moises politely kiss Josefa’s hand.
- Ana tells herself she can’t fall in love with Octavio. Octavio feels the same.
- Cayetana tells Rosalia that she took in a girl named Frida and raised her as her own. Rosalia wants to meet her but Cayetana refuses.
- Frida tells Marcial that Octavio proposed to her. Marcial says he has documents that prove Frida once committed fraud.
- Octavio sees Ana with the horse she gave up. She says her life changed when she saw Octavio for the first time. She says she’s in love with him. He overhears and thinks to himself that he loves her too.
