We start where we left off on Friday. Julio gets shot and Octavio shoots at the bikers sending the motorcycling skidding. The bikers manage to get up and drive off, but Octavio shoots one in the shoulder. Octavio runs to Julio who thanks him for saving his life. When Octavio asks if it was Fausto’s people, Julio deflects by asking what Octavio was doing there.

At the Casares stables, Vera continues to listen as Alberto asks Olmo what he will do about Vera. Olmo responds that he hopes Vera’s love is true and that she has nothing going on with Pedro because he will not tolerate betrayal and he won’t have mercy on either of them…well the three of them. Suddenly they hear what sounds like a shot; so Alberto quickly takes his gun out and looks around. Meanwhile, Vera runs off and is spotted by Edson. Edson continues walking and encounters Alberto who asks what he is doing there and if he saw anyone. Edson replies that he was just stretching his legs and denies seeing anyone.

Pedro is playing with Nico when Vera runs up looking flustered and white as a sheet. She tells him that they need to stay away from each other; they are in danger! They cannot be together and he cannot be with Nico. If Olmo finds out anything, he will kill the three of them…she just overheard Olmo say that! Pedro insists that Olmo doesn’t know anything but Vera argues that Olmo is very suspicious of her. Just then Marina approaches so Vera goes to Nico. Marina asks what they were doing…they seemed to be hiding. Pedro tells her that they were just talking business.

At the restaurant, Laiza tells Gabriel that she does want to marry him! Everyone claps and Gabriel asks one of the employees to videotape him again asking Laiza if she will marry him.

Now in their bedroom, Marina is frantic because she can’t find her phone. She brings up Vera and wants to know what Pedro and Vera have going on….they are like a fingernail and dirt. When Pedro tells her not to take out her frustration on him since it’s not his fault that she can’t find her phone, Marina decides to go look for it in the kitchen.

At Octavio’s place, Octavio asks Julio if he wants to go to the hospital, but Julio refuses since it was only a flesh wound. Octavio then tells Julio that since he saved his life, now Julio should tell him all that he knows. Julio agrees and tells him that Fausto is Olmo’s former partner, but Julio doesn’t know where Fausto is hiding. He is sure that Fausto kidnapped Olmo….Fausto is a very dangerous man. When Julio nods that Fausto probably tried to kill him, Octavio knows that they must find him. Julio doesn’t think that would be a good idea because there are too many people involved and they could also be in danger…he is afraid that Vera will be caught in the middle. Octavo insists that they still need to do something and promises to be very careful. He cautions Julio not to tell anyone what he just told him. Octavio then asks if there are others working with Fausto; so Julio tells him about Tadeo whom he thinks was the one who shot him. Julio then provides a general description. Meanwhile, Fausto is removing the bullet from Tadeo’s arm as Tadeo bites down hard on a kerchief.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 46: Playing the Players Part 2

At the Casares living room, Faby is all smiles as she talks to Eddy and tells him that she misses him. Marina rushes in as she hangs up and demands that Faby give her the phone. It’s hers! Faby only wanted to borrow it since her mother took it hers away. When Faby asks who is this Andres who writes to her, Marina is aghast that Faby also read her messages and reproaches her for it.

At Fausto’s place, Fausto continues to treat Tadeo’s arm with a burning hot knife to seal the wound.

Olmo and Alberto are in the study. After Alberto assures Olmo that Ramiro is using doing everything he can to find Fausto since his (Ramiro’s) life depends on it. Olmo responds that he hopes it will be soon because he won’t rest until he finds Fausto. They then discuss how the company is doing better since Olmo had the press conference, but Olmo thinks they still have much to do. They need to stabilize the company. When Alberto fears taking any risks, Olmo insists that risks are necessary. After Alberto leaves, Ivana is next in the hot seat. Olmo tells her that he doesn’t like secrets. When he went in to give his statement, he saw Octavio, her favorite cop! Ivana assures him that Octavio came to their house only coincidentally; she had not heard from Octavio in years. There is nothing between them now, but Olmo is sure that they do have something—Faby! Olmo thinks that is why Alberto is living at the hotel...because he already knows about Faby. Ivana assures him that Alberto knows nothing. When Olmo then asks if she is having an affair with Octavio, Ivana denies it…Octavio was a mistake that will not happen again.

In his bedroom, Pedro speaks to Teo on the phone. Teo’s grandmother is coming for a visit. Teo wonders why Pedro is whispering, so Pedro tells him that Marina is asleep. Pedro then confides that Marina is acting very odd…she suspects him and Vera and she is always watching him. When Pedro assures Teo that he and Vera are very careful especially because of Olmo, Teo advises that he will not be able to be at ease until he confronts Olmo...Pedro must ell Olmo what he knows about his bio father’s death.

In her room, Vera cries and opens a box to take out a letter opener???

Melida is looking for custom built cribs when she sees the uploaded video where Gabe asks Laiza to marry him.

Vera goes to bed as she places the letter opener under her pillow.

Pedro walks in as the nurse is helping Olmo with the prosthesis. Pedro offers to come back later, but Olmo insists that he come in…there shouldn’t be any secrets between them. Pedro agrees and adds that there shouldn’t be any secrets about the present or the past. Ever since the kidnapping, Pedro has been having memories and diverse images. Pedro then asks what really happened on the night his father dies. Did he really die in an accident as Olmo has always told him?

Vera tells Jass that she needs to talk to Fausto. Olmo has her under constant watch. It’s Fausto’s fault that she ended up in jail and he is refusing to answer her calls. Jass tries to argue, but Vera hangs up on him.

Olmo admits that Pedro’ father didn’t die in an accident; he was murdered! And it was Fausto who killed him!

Faby is caught trying to shoplift.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 46: Playing the Players Part 3

Octavio continues his web of lies. Fausto, Tomas and he were partners. Together they built what is now the Grupo Casares, but Fausto wanted it for himself; so Tomas confronted him. When Pedro asks where he can find Fausto, Olmo tells him that Fausto died several years ago. Olmo didn’t tell him before because he was just a child….and later he didn’t want to open up wounds that could hurt Pedro. He now sees that it was a mistake to keep it from him. He knows Pedro is disappointed in him and he has made other mistakes like teaming up with Granados, but he has paid dearly for his mistake. Pedro wonders why Olmo is just now telling him all these things…does Olmo think that by telling him these things, he will believe him? Olmo retorts that Pedro can judge him however he wants but he did everything for his family and protect him. When Pedro chides him for keeping the truth about his father from him. Olmo reproaches him since a father is the one who raises, educates and protects him…the man who spends his life beside him…he is his father!!

Jass arrives at Fausto’s new hideout. Fausto give him the rest of his money and praises him for finding such a nice hideout for him. When Tadeo hands the bag of money to Jass, Jass asks what happened to him and Tadeo responds that he was in an accident. Jass then tells Fausto that he talked to Vera who is very disappointed in Fausto. Fausto knows that he let Vera down; he needs to explain to Vera why he couldn’t help her. Jass thinks it will be difficult since Olmo doesn’t let Vera leave the house. Fausto feels sorry for Vera, but he will do everything possible to make Olmo pay for everything he has done to them…and the will be the family they so deserve to be.

Gas goes to see Laiza with liquor flask in hand and quite drunk. Gas thinks it’s too soon for Laiza to be getting married. Laiza counters that she didn’t show up at his house drunk and reproaching him for what he is doing with his life. When Gas reminds her that they were suppose to have a talk before she made a decision, Laiza tells him that he is the one who doesn’t want to let her go. Gas agrees—he doesn’t want to let her go and shows her with an alcohol-flavored kiss. Laiza insists that they can’t be together…it’s best for him, her and the baby that is on its way.

Teo’s granny arrives (It’s Helena Rojo!) Teo wants to take her to her house, but she insists on staying there at the hotel. When he asks for her boyfriend, the Spanish marquis, she tells him that she has already forgotten about him…she already has a new love interest…and she has a gay friend who would be perfect for Teo! By Teo’s look, granny knows that Teo already has a novio!

Octavio is at the store saving Faby from being arrested. When he asks why she did it, Faby cries that her mother took all her technology away and she didn’t know what to do…she even had to borrow Marina’s phone. Octavio tells her that she can have all the excuses in the world, but stealing is not the option…he will have to tell her mother.

Pedro tries to get more info about his father from Olmo, but Olmo insists that he shouldn’t worry about the past, he should concentrate on Marina who is his present. Vera interrupts to ask if she can go out…Nico has to go to school and she needs to go to the office, but Olmo insists that she is not to go out…it is for her safety.

At the hotel, granny asks about Teo’s novia, but Teo is evasive and tells her it’s nothing serious. Granny frowns and tells him that if it isn’t serious then he shouldn’t bother introducing him to her.

When Pedro is alone, Vera approaches him and asks if he now believes her...she is Olmo’s prisoner…they need to do something or something bad will happen.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 46: Playing the Players Part 4

Ivana arrives at the store and chides Faby for being a thief. When Octavio tries to defend Faby, Ivana tells him that she is trying to protect her from a kid who is not a good influence. When Faby leaves, Octavio tells Ivana that she and Faby need to be more united than ever. He knows that behind that hardened mask, the Ivana that he knew is still there. Octavio then tells Ivana that she needs to know that there is an ongoing investigation on Olmo for money laundering….and Alberto is also involved; if she doesn’t want to end up getting incriminated, she should stay away from them. Ivan smirks coyly...she knows that all Octavio wants is to keep her away from them. In a flash, they beam up to Octavio’s room where their passion is unleashed.

Melida tries to feign kindness with Delia and congratulates her for Laiza’s engagement, but Delia doesn’t buy it. Delia warns her not to make her angry because the only thing keeping Melida there is Delia’s silence…because if Olmo found out that she threw her out of the house, not even the baby will protect her from Olmo’s fury. Melida tries to tell Delia that she is sincere but Delia again doesn’t buy it…not even her relationship to Gas is sincere! When Delia asks if she knows where Gas is, Melida remains silent.

Marina goes to see Olmo who insists that he needs to get better because he doesn’t want to rely on anyone. Marina then asks if he has noticed that Pedro and Vera have been close lately. When she tries to explain further, they hear Vera and Pedro arguing in the hallway. Vera is telling Pedro that he shouldn’t be spending s much time with Nico; Olmo is the step-father! Pedro responds accordingly with Vera’s urging. She doesn’t want problems with Olmo or Marina. Ivana has been putting ideas in Olmo’s head about them. Olmo then approaches and asks what is happening; so Vera tells him that she doesn’t want Pedro talking to her or Nico because she doesn’t what problems between them. She then suggests that it would be best that Pedro and Marina go live elsewhere. Cara impactada from Marina as she turns to Olmo expecting him to come to her defense, but Olmo agrees with Vera; it’s time that she and Pedro need to make their life away from there!

Octavio and Ivan have finished their passion session. Ivana thinks it was a mistake, but Octavio thinks it was a marvelous mistake…he just proved that she continues being the Ivana that he knew. He then reiterates that she needs to stay away from Alberto and Olmo but Ivana insists that he stop saying absurdities…all he wants is to get her away from her husband!

Vera is in her studio splattering paint on the canvas when Pedro comes in. They both think that Olmo and Marina bought their act…and they will be more tranquil. Pedro only came to say good-bye and gives her a quick kiss.

Later, outside, Olmo is saying good-bye to Marina and assuring her that all will be well. Marina cries as she admits that she lied; she does remember that she and Pedro were separated…and she worries that Pedro doesn’t love her anymore. Olmo again reassures her and tell her that this is her opportunity to save her marriage…and he will support her in whatever she needs.

Delia talks to Laiza and looks worried. Delia thinks that this is not the right time, but Laiza assures her that Gabe is a good choice. Delia clarifies that it is not Gas that she is referring to….it is Laiza’s father who has returned!

Pedro says his good-byes to Nico. He reassures Nico that he will always be his play father….or real father…and Nico will always be in his heart, as will be his mother. Meanwhile, Vera is working on a happy family portrait, but she takes her brush and strokes angrily over Olmo.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 46: Playing the Players Part 5

Alberto and Olmo are talking business in Olmo’s study when Ivana comes in. Olmo is upset because she didn’t knock and they are talking privately. Ivana slithers in and wonders if they are talking about the money laundering. Olmo tries to deny it, but Ivana has always suspected and now she has confirmed it. Olmo shouldn’t insult her intelligence especially after all she has done to maintain the company’s good reputation. When Alberto tries to argue, Ivana reminds him that he is her husband…for now! If he wants to continue being her husband, he’d better consider her part of their team.

Marina and Pedro arrive at their new apartment. Marina is glad that they will be together…and maybe now with some intimacy and luck, they can make a miracle of their lives. After Pedro reminds her that she cannot get pregnant, Marina tells her that they can still enjoy themselves.

Back in the study, Ivana wants to get right down to business. She assures Olmo that he can depend on her.

Vera is with Nico who has drawn a picture of himself with Pedro. Olmo comes in and asks about the picture, Nico ells him that it is of his father and him. Vera quickly agds that Nico has been dreaming of his father even though he doesn’t know him. Olmo then asks to speak to Vera alone.

Delia is complaining about Ramiro’s return. After Laiza asks if he asked about her, Delia hesitates then responds that she doesn’t know why he returned, but Olmo gave her his address and she will go talk to him. Laiza forbids her from going since it might not be safe for her…Laiza will go instead.

Olmo wonders why Nico has an interest in his father since he doesn’t even know him. Ver suggests that it could be Nico’s age and the fact that he has been having nightmares. After Olmo suggests that they should change Nico’s last name to “Casares,” Vera deflects and tells Olmo that he has been having nightmares too and calling out the name “Fausto.” Olmo denies knowing anything since he was asleep. Vera continues her questioning since Olmo also pleaded with Fausto to let him go, but Olmo insists that it was only a nighmare and prefers that they go eat.

Alberto is leaving the house when Ivana follows reproaching him for wanting to live at the hotel rather than this mansion. Alberto is fed up with her! They reproach each other for all the lies they have told each other. When Alberto insist that she humiliated him in front of Olmo, Ivan reminds him that the only married her out of interest.

Lola and Julio are in bed. Lola is feeling bad because Vera called her and sounded very worried. Lola wanted to go see her. but Vera thought it would only make things worse. Lola is tired of telling Vera to get out of that house. When she tells Julio that she needs to know what it is that Julio wants…and she wonders if he wants more problems or if he would go away with her to get away from all the problems, Julio remains quiet.

Ivana and Alberto continue to argue. Alberto doesn’t understand why she wants him there…she doesn’t even care about their marriage. Ivana argues that she does care because it is good business and they make a good team...but if he insists in going against her, it won’t be difficult to kick him off he team…and this is an ultimatum!!

Olmo wakes up the next morning calling out for Vera. Vera comes in with breakfast that she made herself. Olmo thinks she is trying to make points. Vera has been thinking that they should get back to a normal life…go back to work, have Nico go back to school. Vera wants to work on a new life. When she starts to leave to take a bath, Olmo tells her that getting accustomed to living without a leg is difficult. He then wonders if she really wants their new life to start; he wants her to strip…so he can see what it is that he is missing.

Ivana sure gets around. I wonder if she and Olmo have ever been lovers.

I was surprised that Olmo agreed with Vera that his precious little Marina go live with Pedro somewhere else. Now why won’t he tell Ivana to get out again if he can tell Marina to leave?

Fausto’s bullet removing expertise made me feel like I was watching an old western.

Helena Rojo’s appearance was the highlight for me.

What a crude ending! Guess old Olmo isn’t interested in making any points with his prisoner bride.

Excellent RgvChick. You accomplished the impossible, conveying all the dialog and action seamlessly, despite the flood of scenes and non-stop action. Marvelous.

“Playing the Players” was perfect.

While there were no major revelations, there were a few surprises.

Having Vera mastermind the subterfuge to get Pedro and Marina out of the house was unexpected. Sheer terror propelled her to think furiously and come up with a plan that actually accomplished what she wished.

“They are like a fingernail and dirt” – so romantic Marina.

“When Tadeo hands the bag of money to Jass, Jass asks what happened to him and Tadeo responds that he was in an accident”. So Jass wasn’t the motorcycle driver…I wasn’t aware Fausto had other henchman, so that was interesting.

Ivana maneuvering to assume her “rightful place” in the family hierarchy wasn’t surprising, usurping Alberto much to his chagrin.

“He knows that behind that hardened mask, the Ivana that he knew is still there”. Really??? I can’t imagine what he thinks he sees, as we see a hardened grasping, manipulative face, Ivana’s true countenance.

“At the hotel, granny asks about Teo’s novia, but Teo is evasive and tells her it’s nothing serious”. Really Teo?? Gonzo would be out the door if he heard that and I wouldn’t blame him.

Melida being tongue lashed by Delia was gratifying. Laisa going to talk to Ramiro was not.

"Fausto’s bullet removing expertise made me feel like I was watching an old western" was spot on Jarifa. Fausto seemed to be enjoying the bullet removal and procedure a bit too much.

Jarifa, I too was very surprised tha Olmo ageed to have Marina and Pedro live elsewhere. I guesss he convinced himself that it would be best for Marina so tha she can have a chance at getting Pedro back, but we all know he just wants Pedro out of there. And I agree that ""Fausto’s bullet removing expertise made me feel like I was watching an old western" was spot on. I wish I could have thought of that when I was writing the recap!

Diana, I truly enjoyed Melida's tongue lashing. That was one of the highlights of the episode. The other highlight was seeing Helena Rojo. I had recognized her voice when sh ecalled Teo the first time, but looking at her really struck me. It seems she is going to be quite the eccentric, busybody grandma...it might be a bit too much for Timid Teo to handle.

The lowlight was seeing Octavio and Ivana do the bunny hop...and Olmo's ending request (ewww!)

Initially, Olmo treated Vera with respect and as a queen.

Now, he's treating her like a prostitute. Jarifa and RgvChick, that last scene was cringe worthy. (I only saw Vera's face, not understanding what Olmo said until I read your words RgvChick). I hope Vera will be righteously indignant and refuse. Olmo is just sickening.

Embajador #30 part 1

No, I don’t believe it, you can’t prove it. Without proof, I will not believe you, Muge tells Nare. Ok, Nare replies, I’ll get that proof. Muge can’t believe this either. You can’t have proof, she says. Nare’s going to get it for her. There’s already proof that Akin is obsessed with me, she says, because Akin is in Barcelona now. Muge scoffs. I made him believe I was leaving here, but sending my phone was enough to make him go to Barcelona to find me. Muge accuses Nare of lying. Akin isn’t in Barcelona. Meanwhile, Sancar has arrived at Muge’s clinic.

Why don’t you call him? Nare brings Muge her phone. He won’t answer because he’s not interested in you, right? Muge’s faith in Akin takes another hit. It’s not true, it can’t be true, Nare…

Nare says that If Akin answers, ask him where he is. Nare puts her new number in Muge’s phone and gathers her things to go. Oh, and don’t tell Akin I was here, she advises, or I’ll tell Gediz about your relationship. Oh, and also I’ll tell you told Akin where the marina money was, which he stole and blamed on me, Nare adds. Now Sancar’s coming up the stairs.

Muge, I don’t like having to do this, Nare says. I understand that you would do everything not to believe, but Akin isn’t the person you think he is. He is a very bad person. You’ll be very hurt once you understand. But I’ll be there to support you because when it happened to me, no one was there for me. Nare promises Muge she won’t have to go through it alone. She leaves poor Muge in teary uncertainty.

Sancar is shocked to see Nare walking down the hall to the elevator. Unnoticed by her, he watches her get in.

Muge is still crying outside her office when Sancar walks up. She latches onto him and sobs in his arms. What happened, he asks, is everything okay? Wheels turn in Sancar’s head.

Nare tries calling her father. No answer because Gediz has the phone in his coat in his car. Gediz is still at his quiet place and he doesn’t hear it ring.

Muge has composed herself and Sancar asks her why she was crying. Muge BS’s about a patient she cares for who is suffering a lot. Sancar questions this—if she is like this with every patient, it must be awful. Muge explains that this patient has a very moving story, she... Muge stops and says it’s confidential. Sancar’s thinking….

Muge asks Sancar why he’s there. Did you come for therapy? [no comment] Sancar laughs that off. He wants to take her someplace--to help her buy a car. What?! Gediz gave you money, he says, and I can help you choose a great car. Let’s go, we have plenty of money to spend. Uh oh.

Guven shows up at Refika’s looking for Gediz. Refika can’t believe Guven has the nerve to show up at her house, what are you doing here? He asks for Gediz. Why, she asks, to put him in prison again? Guven’s frustration shows, can you call your son? He’s not here, Refika says. Contact him, Guven says, he has my phone and I need it now. It’s an emergency. Refika calls Gediz, who is still at the quiet place sitting in his car. He doesn’t take the call.

Nare shows up at the quiet place and gets in Gediz’ car. Gediz tells her he needs to find a new place to be alone. Nare does that imaginary conversation thing they do with each other: nice to see you, Nare, let’s spend time together, alright, how are you Gediz….? Gediz tells her he’s fine but he came here to be alone. She’s not going anywhere. Don’t you have a daughter to take care of, he asks? She says a friend is taking care of her, don’t worry. [guess that’s Kavruk?]

Embajador #30 part 2

Gediz jumps right in with a question: why did you hit him (Sancar)? Flashback. Did you see that? Yes, I did, says Gediz. Did Sancar say Muge was a spy? No, he didn’t. She’s not telling why she hit Sancar. But she is about to say something about Muge when Gediz interrupts. You can’t believe Sancar, he says. My sister can’t be the girlfriend of that trash, Akin. Never, never, never. [Do you think he’s trying to convince himself?]

Muge and Sancar go car shopping. Muge wants to come back another day because it’s late. [and because she doesn’t really want a car] Sancar understands but he really wants her to have that car. [so she won’t be able to use that money for Akin]

After some uneasy silence between Nare and Gediz, he asks, so are you going to tell me? Nare avoids it with a question of her own, did you fight with Sancar at the grove? Yes, I hit him, but he didn’t hit me. It wasn’t fun. Nare asks, do you know why he thinks Muge is a spy? Because for the first time in her life my sister asked for money to buy a car. Nare’s putting it together, just like Sancar.

Muge can’t decide and wants to come back another time with Gediz. Sancar says Gediz doesn’t know anything about cars. Muge doesn’t like the car colors and Sancar makes jokes. Are you trying make me laugh because I was crying today, she asks?

Sancar motions for the salesman to leave them. His face turns serious, and he moves in close to Muge. I know the real reason you don’t want the car. Your fear. Muge gulps and looks down. Sancar throws her a curve ball…you’re still that girl that had an accident. Muge takes a breath, maybe she’s relieved he didn’t mention Akin. He doesn’t let her speak and starts making jokes about colors and stickers on the car. Muge decides on a car and Sancar tells the salesman Muge is ready to close the deal.

He’s mentally ill, Gediz says, he’s insane, insane. Nare says that’s enough, relax, you will go crazy if you keep thinking about them. Tell me what to do, he asks. He pulls out her letter. This letter full of lies. Yeah, she knew she’d have to apologize for it. It was a fake bird that planned to land near you, she tells him, but instead I ended up walking away. She’s sorry. Gediz is not satisfied with that answer. You speak the same way you write, with lies, he says.

Nare says she’s already explained, she I had to make Akin follow her. She hoped Sancar would understand and help her to do it. So, writing me a letter full of lies, telling me I was your best friend was going to be okay, he asks her?

I didn’t just leave a letter full of lies, as you put it, she says, I left my whole notebook. Yes, she did, and he takes it out of his glove box. I didn’t read it, he tells her. Really? You didn’t read it? You’ve always been curious she says. [I think she’s pleasantly surprised.] Why didn’t you read it? I didn’t want a consolation prize, he says sadly.

Guven finally reaches Gediz. Gediz quietly lets Nare know it’s her dad. Guven says, your mother gave me your number. I couldn’t find you, so I went to your house. You have my phone. Gediz forgot. I’ll send it to you tomorrow. Gediz takes the phone out of his coat and puts it in his jacket pocket.

Nare asks why he has her dad’s phone. When we were looking for you, we wanted your father’s help and…he had to be motivated [he leaves out the interesting details] so I kept the phone. Nare wants the phone. She’s going to see her father tomorrow. She grabs it and puts it away. Gediz senses something and asks, is there something important in it? No, she’s just saving him the trouble of sending it. She opens the car door.

Before she leaves, Gediz reminds her that she had lots of questions. Flashback to Nare yelling at Gediz about being doubted and questioned about everything and wanting to be understood. She cursed those that still do not believe her.

Embajador #30 part 3

Gediz says, you want me to understand you and that’s why you left the book. But you can’t tell some secrets while keeping others. Things aren’t that way between friends. I guess they are for now, because Nare leaves.

Nare drives to a secluded place. She opens Guven’s phone and watches the video. I know you wouldn’t delete it dad, she says to herself, because you could use it to blackmail and threaten. Nare watches the video, until she can’t take it anymore and she tosses the phone aside. She tells herself it’s over it, it’s in the past. He won’t touch you again. He‘s got the punishment he deserved.

Sancar and Muge drive up to her house in the new car. Sancar sets up the Bluetooth for her phone. And surprise! There’s a call from Nare. He tells her to answer. She doesn’t want to. Answer now, he tells her. Muge has no choice because Sancar opens the call.
Nare begins: do you remember at the clinic I told you I would get proof. Can I see you tomorrow? hello? I need to show you something. Sancar is stunned. Muge tries to close the call but Sancar stops her.

Hello? Are you there, Nare asks? Muge and Sancar remain silent. You can’t escape from this, Nare continues. You must understand that Akin is not the man you think he is. In fact, we had to leave Montenegro because of him. Okay, Muge, you don’t have to talk but I’m sure you want to see the proof. I’ll be waiting for your call. Don’t forget what I said—no one can know about this.

Sancar asks Muge, what going on between you and Akin? Before she can answer, Gediz knocks on the window. Sancar says Gediz can’t know about this. She’s all for that. But Gediz wants an explanation.

We bought a car! Muge tells her brother she hopes to overcome her fear. She goes in the house and leaves the two partners. Gediz wants to know what’s really going on. Sancar says he just helped Muge buy a car, that’s all. Gediz sees right through this and says, you forced her to buy so Akin wouldn’t use that money. He’s disgusted and goes in the house. Sancar knows this is a complicated situation.

Nare arrives back at Kavruk’s house. She slips into bed next to Melek. Melek wakes and asks, did you find a house? Not yet. She tells Nare that her dad didn’t come today. He had lots of things to do today, he will come. Melek asks, father don’t leave their daughters if they have another home, right? Nare assures her, your father would never do that. Do you swear? Nare does.

Sancar shows up at Karvruk’s. He listens at the door. He’s about to knock and stops. He realizes it’s late. He goes around the side of the house and sees Nare and Melek through their open window. He doesn’t like the window open and goes to shut it. But he is so taken by the sight of his Nare, he pauses. Why are you so beautiful, he whispers and smiles. He catches himself, his smile fades and he closes the window. [Efe, do you regret?] He sits outside by the window and his smile returns.

Next morning, Gediz is giving Muge driving lessons in an open field. He stops her from crashing into a tree. He tries to make light of it. Gediz gets a call from the marina and doesn’t take it. He wants to continue with the lesson.

Nare is dressed and ready for work. She calls Dudu at the office. Did Gediz come to work? Why are you whispering, Dudu asks? Are you running from the police? Why would I be running, Nare asks? Because you took the money. Nare tells her not to think about matters that don’t concern her. Besides this is a complicated matter. Dudu feels she has the right to ask because this was in her house. She asks Nare if she was fired and tells her that she will be the new director.

Embajador #30 part 4

Nare makes a crack about losing customers if Dudu is the director. Yeah, well, Dudu comes right back and tells her things aren’t so good now and you’re not here. There’s a company that offers customers trips to the Greek islands. The owner is here because he wants to withdraw from the marina. He heard about the problems with the property, so he made a deal with another marina. And Gediz is MIA. As she leaves the house, Nare tells her to serve them coffee. Don’t tell them it’s Turkish coffee [lol] it’s Greek coffee and I’ll be there in a couple of hours.

Nare finds Sancar outside, sitting on his truck. When did you get here Nare asks? Last night. You were sleeping and I didn’t want to wake you up. You slept outside? Not important. He wants to know where she is going. She’s going to look for a house. And work, he asks? Maybe.

Sancar doesn’t believe her. He thinks she’s going to meet with the Greeks at the Marina. Nare’s busted. She remembers their agreement, but she just needs to keep the marina job a little longer. Why is that? Gediz didn’t go to work. He’s been acting weird since you mentioned Muge.

Sancar jumps off the truck and goes into jerk mode. How do you know this? Are the two of you meeting in secret? He demands an answer. She’s ticked—first you say I’m with Akin now I’m with Gediz in secret. What’s wrong with you?

Sancar admits he said the Akin thing because she was protecting Muge. Better you don’t say anything Sancar, she replies, you set a trap for Akin because we were mentioned in the same sentence, but you did the same! Sancar puts his hand to his face and says, you took your revenge and I apologized. Nare is sorry she had to do it [sorry, not sorry] She warns him if he does it again it will be worse than a slap.

Sancar moves in close. What happened in Montenegro to make you come back? Did something happen with Akin? What? The day you arrived here, what happened to make you escape? Here we go again, she says, I don’t have time for this. Sancar has plenty of time to listen. Nare says if he has so much time he should stay and take care of his daughter. This doesn’t sit will with Sancar. You want me to take care of her while you work?

Don’t speak as if we are a couple, she says, I am a single mother. I can work and take care of Melek. If you don’t want to take care of her, you can go, goodbye. She drives off.

Embajador #30 part 5

Menekse visits Loki in prison. She asks, what do you expect from me? Why did you want me to come? Loki thinks he made it very clear—you are with me or you are six feet under. He says, be thankful that I have noble heart. I’ll do you one last favor because I still love you. And what is that?

I’m getting out of here soon, he says, so spend time with your daughter and don’t touch Sancar. I’ll kill both him and you. Menekse says, don’t be an idiot. What daughter? Did you go crazy in prison? Loki is confused [doesn’t take much]. Don’t you have a daughter with your husband? No, it belongs to the ambassador’s daughter, you idiot. I have no children, she tells him.

Great, says Loki, so I won’t think I’m killing a mother—just Menekse and that works for me. She cries. Stop crying, he tells her. I’m going to stab you in the heart, just like you did to me.

So what are you waiting for, do it, she responds. Do it because I’m not alive. You will be doing me a favor. Loki’s confused again. Menekse sobs, Necdet forced me to marry in exchange for money. I spent too many days crying, waiting for you. You didn’t care about me. You allowed this to happen and now you blame me? Kill me Loki, save me from this hell.

Maybe Loki has had a change of heart? He tells Menekse to calm down, he won’t hurt her. But he will kill her brother. That money is going to be useless to him, he says, you’ll see, I swear.

Menekse doesn’t understand about this money. Loki says, don’t tell me you don’t know. Yahya gave money to the other men if they say Necdet is innocent. And so, your husband…Sancar…what if he finds out? Hmmm…how will Menekse use this information?

And we are out.

Thank you, Fe! I liked Gabriel's proposal too, but it bothers me that Laiza accepted probably out of spite since she saw Gaston and Melida laughing and chatting. Laiza needs to be honest with herself and Gabriel.

Muje and Gediz are having a hard time opening their eyes to what their minds are telling them. I can't really blame them, and it will really hit hard when they do open thier eyes or someone (Nare) forces them open.

I have to admire Nare for telling Muje that she would not leave her alone despite Muje not believing her. And Sancar, the sly devil, found a way to both confirm that Muje wanted to give the money to Akin and to keep her from giving it to him.

Though he doesn;t have all the details, at least now sancar knows that Nare was running from Akin when she showed up. Now how long will it be before he finds out all the truth?

Sancar watching Nare sleep and spending the night outside was the highlight for me. His actions speak loud and clear; now if he would only toss that pride and give in to his love for Nare.

I was a bit miffed about Meaneske's conversation with Loki. Are we to believe that she truly loved Loki and was "sold" to Sancar...and that she is living in hell? I don't think so!

Nare is a great character and Neslihan brings her to life.

Agree that Sancar watching Nare sleep was a highlight. Even if he comes to his senses and puts aside his pride, will Nare will forgive him? She still has a lot to work through, too, and she continually puts others before herself.

There’s a very small kernel of truth in what Menekse said to Loki. That family jumped at the chance to become part of the Efeoglu family. Money. Status. Perhaps there was a time she thought Loki was her only option. I don’t think she loved him but I think they belong together. She’s actively helped to create her own hell.

Rvg, I think that Laiza realized, when she saw Gaston and Melinda together, that her relationship with Gaston was hopeless, that he would always be at the mercy of Melida and Olmo. Plus Gastin’s drowning himself in alcohol does not give her any confidence in his ability to make mature decisions. However, I do agree that she needs to be honest with Gabriel and not use marriage to him as a way to distance herself from Gaston.

 

ACUERDAS Episode 47 Toxic, Noxious and Obnoxious

Previously: Vera delivers breakfast to Olmo asking that they try to resume some semblance of a “normal” life. Returning to work and school for Nico would give them the opportunity for a new life. Olmo muses on this, reflecting that he is struggling to adjust to life without his leg. He wonders if Vera does indeed want to start a new life. He then lasciviously asks her to undress as viewerville tries to stifle the bile building in our throats, holding our collective breath...

This time, there was no reprieve for Vera from this sordid request. Vera smiles, turns her back, rolls her eyes, starts to untie her robe, turning to face her tormentor, and lets her chemise drop. Olmo stares as Vera shuts the door behind her, her face mirroring her pain as tears of humiliation fall.

Alicia and Teo meet with Pedro (his hair noticeably darker), who apologizes for being late. Alicia womanhandles him a bit, admiring his muscles amidst much laugher. She asks him about Olmo and Marina, as Teo asks her to cool it. Undaunted, she continues that his marrying Marina always seemed odd to her. Pedro tells her that he loves Marina as a sister. Alicia knows that he is in a codependent relationship and his father is very possessive...he needs to liberate himself from them. Teo keeps trying to quiet her, but resistance is futile. She then turns on Teo, putting him on the hot seat, asking why he had never told her about himself.

As Alberto wheels his suitcases into the house, Faby is surprised that her father is returning to live there and envelops him in a hug. He tells her that he is returning for her; they need to be the family they have always been. Ivana slithers down the staircase of doom, purring she is glad he changed his mind. Faby hides a phone in the flowers which Vera scoops up.

Faby and Ivana have a mother/daughter chat at the stables. Faby promises not to steal again. Ivana turns and tells her that she admires that Faby had the gumption to fight for what she wanted. She looks at the horse and adds that the horses that are hardest to train are the ones who are most likely to be competitive and win. Faby thinks she is comparing her to a horse. Ivana confirms that she is and adds that there is nothing wrong with fighting for what you want but you must know what you want and if it is good for you. Ivana declares “that boy” is not good for her. Ivana understands that one might do whatever it takes to master their objective and that is for the courageous. Faby can’t believe that Ivana is serious. Ivana continues that she is telling her very important things and she should pay close attention...the end justifies the means.

Vera is on the phone apologizing for missing a meeting and asks that it be rescheduled. She then gives the phone to Olmo and thanks him for allowing her to use it. Olmo remarks that she is making him feel like an ogre and reminds her that his distrust did not develop on its own. He also reminds her that what he is doing is for her own safety.

Faby is shocked since she thought Ivana was going to ground her. Ivana is giving her another chance but if she steals again, Ivana will send her to jail herself. She adds that Faby has everything and she shouldn’t lose it for someone who isn’t worth it.

Alicia asks Pedro how he was able to handle his father’s kidnapping. Pedro confides that he went to see a hypnotist because during the time of Olmo’s kidnapping, he started remembering some things about his father. And he found out that everything that Olmo told him about his father is a lie. When he makes the excuse he hasn’t had time to go back to the hypnotist, Alicia suggests that he make time to go.

ACUERDAS Episode 47 Toxic, Noxious and Obnoxious Part 2

Laiza searches for her father, knocking on a door answered by a young boy, introducing himself as Julian. She tells Julian she is looking for Adan Martinez (her father’s alias) to which he answers he is his father and ask why she wants to see him. He’s not here, do you want to see my mother? No she answers and hands him a note and asks him to tell his father to call her.

Vera uses the secret phone to call Pedro, she so needed to hear his voice! When he asks for Nico, she admits Nico is very sad. Still, Vera thinks they did the right thing. Pedro, however, is tired of lying and being smothered by his father. He wants to get to the bottom of things, to uncover the truth about his past so he can live with Vera and Nico in the future.

Cut Scene: Laiza goes crying to Delia, she just confirmed that her father has another family! Mélida interrupts, upset that Laiza is there (beyotch!) Gaston arrives, drunk yet very happy to see Laiza. Mélida becomes even more agitated, telling Laiza to leave...she already got what she wanted.

Vera is in the bathroom on the phone which she hides. Olmo is waiting outside the door and tells her the car is ready. Vera is surprised so Olmo tells her that her wish is his command...but she will have a chauffeur who has been ordered to keep a watchful eye on her at all times. Nico runs out of the house to her and Olmo grabs him and hugs him to make the point, telling him his mother will return. Olmo tells Edson that he is to be Vera’s shadow.

Faby and Eddy lie on their backs in the grass, momentarily able to be the young and in in love couple they are. Faby has a wish list in her journal, a staple of young girls on the verge of womanhood everywhere. Ice cream, what I love, kisses. Eddy happily obliges her with the kissing. Getting drunk is on the list and Eddy will help with that.

Laiza visits Marina, telling her about Gabe and Marina, saying Gabe is a hunk is thrilled for her friend! Laiza also relates the tale of her father abandoning them years ago. She relates he returned but she doesn’t know why. She looked for him and found he is father to another family. Before Marina can say much, her phone rings and oh, it’s Andres! Laiza is excited and tells her friend to answer it. He tells her that he has been released and he has one person that he wants to see...her! Marina tells Laiza about Andres who is a good person and fun. Laiza then presses for more info so Marian confides that Andres kissed her. Laiza is glad...she needs to meet new people, but Marina reminds her that her sickness is Pedro.

Pedro is in analysis, remembering that his father took him to a house, number four. The doctor urges him to return to the preso. Later, Pedro does that and runs into a woman, asking if she remembers him. She does! She also notes that there was another person there asking questions. She hands him a card – Julio Gamboa.

Jass tells Emilia that he was talking to Vera who needs help.

Vera has gone to check out a school for Nico when lo and behold, Fausto enters, child he says. She turns and stares. Vera warns Fausto not to get close to her. She asks if he got the confession from Olmo...he didn’t. She then reproaches him for leaving her in prison. He tells her that he almost lost his life. Vera keeps calling him by his name and he reminds her that he is her father. She continues to use his name, refusing to back down. Vera points out that if Olmo had died she would have rotted in prison! He abandoned her there and did nothing! However, he’d better do something to put Olmo in jail or she will look for evidence and do it herself. Fauto stares - furious.

Ivana and Octavio are having another tryst. Octavio wonders why Ivana wanted to meet him there again. She wonders why he got there so fast. He asks if she has thought about what he told her regarding Olmo and Alberto. She tells him not to worry she knows how to take care of herself.

Laiza goes home and Ramiro is there. I am your father he states and begs for her forgiveness. They are both emotional and very upset. She doesn’t want him asking her to forgive him...for years she waited for a letter from him, something, anything but got nothing!! How can he just reappear? How could he do that to her and her mother? He doesn’t know what her mother went through. Alberto calls and orders Ramiro to do something NOW. Ramiro calls her “daughter “ and that being too much, she orders him to leave.

Delia and Olmo are having their daily drink. Delia asks Olmo how things are going with Vera. She warns that no woman can tolerate being watched all the time.

Ivana knocks and Delia leaves. Olmo cuts right to the chase, telling Ivana he knows she was in the presidential suite – with Octavio! For the first time, Ivana seems truly frightened. She tried to deny it at first but then Olmo reveals he wants her to continue to sleep with Olmo. He needs her close to Octavio, she will be his eyes and ears because he needs to keep the enemy close. Olmo assures her that he wants her as his right hand person...and that means making some sacrifices.

Alicia “mistakes” Gonzo for an electrician or plumber. She is haughtily on her high horse and ignores his proffered hand. Shortly thereafter, Teo arrives and introduces her to “Gonzalo”. Gonzalo retorts that those who love him call him “Gonzo”. He then tells them that he has finished unclogging everything and leaves.

Later, Teo chides Alicia. She knew exactly who Gonzalo was. Alicia can’t believe he is testing her like a stranger and all for an Aztec Prince! Teo tells her that Gonzo is a highly respected attorney who has put many criminals in prison. Alicia mocks him and tells him not to dare bring that man into their family!

Julio and Lola discuss moving to Vancouver. Pedro storms in and asks what right Julio has investigating his life. Julio explains why he looked into Pedro’s past., assuring him that he was going to tell him but he never found the right time. Pedro thinks that Julio is jealous because Vera fell in love with him. Julio only knows his father’s name and adds that Vera wouldn’t be having any problems if Pedro hadn’t shown up in her life. Pedro grabs him and tells him that Vera IS in his life and Julio better stay out of his!

Ramiro tells Olmo that he hasn’t found Fausto. He suggests that Fausto might be close by. Olmo threatens that he’d better find Fausto or he will pay with his life as will his family. Silvio drags Ramiro away.

Ivana asks Alberto if he made an appointment for her with El Chamaco. Alberto hasn’t because he is protecting her. Ivana doesn’t think El Chamaco is that dangerous and insists on meeting with him. She chides Alberto for treating her like a defenseless child. Ivana will contact El Chamaco herself!

When Vera returns to the car after her visit to the school, Edson asks if she is all right. Vera asks him if he told Olmo that she was at the stables. Edson assures her that he didn’t...because he has seen how Olmo treats her.

Vera and Olmo and Pedro and Marino hug their respective pillows but do not indulge in any pillow talk.

Ivana meets with El Chamaco, downing a drink in seconds flat. El Chamaco is impressed and thinks he is meeting with the best member of the Grupo. Ivana tells him that he will only be dealing with her. Ivana asks when they can restart the business. El Chamaco tels her that she will have to be patient and wait until he decides that they will start.

Oooh, Faby and Eddy getting drunk! No glasses in sight, Fabys drink straight from the bottle. Eddy looks sweet in his “Lost in Peace” t shirt as he cautions her with “whoa”. They both laugh.

Andres shows up to visit Marina with a present in tow. He likes the apartment as Marina relates that this is the first time she and Pedro have their own place. Andres thinks it’s pretty just like her. She then wonders how he feels about being out. He relates a story of escaping from the hospital with cops being called and sirens blasting. Marina laughs because she was starting to believe him. He tells her that the truth is that she is more beautiful than ever. Marina returns his look and smiles.

I had to laugh watching Ivana’s reaction to Olmo basically pimping her out to Octavio for his own purposes. Suddenly she didn’t seem so happy to be Team Olmo.

On the other hand, Ivana was so full of herself and making herself look so stupid drinking shot after shot as El Chamaco poured. As a new character at this pint in the novela, I can only hope he is instrumental to her and Olmo’s downfall. Maybe Fausto can get caught in the crossfire.

The information from Pedro’s past is leaking out sooooooo sloooowly in his hypnosis sessions. How long until he remembers that fateful night when Olmo killed his father? Second to the last episode? Guess we will go hint by hint by hint. From Pedro Gamboa on to whoever . . .

Vera didn’t hide her phone in a very good spot. Hope it is only temporary. The maids do clean the toilet.

Surprise: Alicia was an elitist and very unpleasant. Time for granny to leave.

I would love for Marina to run away with Andrés. Maybe Pedro could help pack her bags.

Ivana may well become a chink in Olmo's armor. She was going mano-a-mano with El Chamaco. She may be vicious, but he is a stone cold killer and she is way out of her element.

Alicia brought the vitrol. Sadly. Will Teo stand up to her? I hope so...

I would also be thrilled if Marina did hook up with Andres. I mean, let's face it. If Pedro and Vera are end game, I would rather she be happy with him than dead or going off the deep end from where she can't recover!

Outstanding recaps as usual dondi. There's a lot of nuance and detail in this TN and you always hit on the high points. Thx

I just knew Muge would come to her senses given she's a professional but it took her seeing that tape. Glad she didn't go to the dark side of denial...but there's no negating that tape...the evidence was undisputable. I hope she doesn't try to contact Akin again....or tip him off that Nare never left town...because he'll just find an excuse to return. But if he does....Nare now as both Gediz and Sancar to watch her back but we know Sacar will turn into his usual brutish self....which is what Akin deserves. Still concerned Nare's useless and complicit persona will some how continue to work with Akin. His weakness is money and gambling and Akin will likely find a way to exploit it again.

Halise deserves no compassion. She has dogged Elvin out...and thrown up her infertility at every opportunity. She deserves to be miserable. And even now...she's more concerned about what people will think of her vs the pain her actions caused. She still hasn't learned her lesson. ...but sure she will work her way back in the mansion.

Yaya is a wild card. I understand him helping his mom...but hopefully he doesn't turn to the dark side because he feels over looked and taken for granted. Hopefully he comes around but right now he appears to be bent on being noticed and getting respect.

I could not believe how Vera could smile while feeling such humiliation. Olmo really needs to suffer immense pain before dying. …and so does Fausto. And Ivana too since she is now training Faby to be like her…that was just pitiful.

Suddenly she didn’t seem so happy to be Team Olmo.” Very true but it didn’t take her too long to bounce back and relish in her new role. “Alicia was an elitist and very unpleasant. Time for granny to leave.” Yeah, I knew she was going to be a force to be dealt with. I too hope that Teo stands up to her, Diana, but as of yet, he hasn’t had much of a backbone.

If Octavio is to be believed in that Ivana was a good person, we see no evidence of that now. And rather than condemning Olmo for separating her from Octavio, she falls in love with him.

Not sure how and where Marina will end up. She appears to have another chance at love but if she will be wise enough to take it remains to be seen.

Embajador #31 part 1

Kavruk comes back from early morning chores and sees Sancar standing outside the door. He bids Efe a good morning and asks him when did you start sleeping by the windows? Sancar’s not in the mood for humor. Kavruk says he will go in and wake Nare but notices her car is not there. Sancar tells Kavruk she already left for work.

Kavruk asks about their deal. Sancar says they had one but she’s not honoring it. But you do, Kavruk asks? Sancar feels he has no choice. He’s worried that Nare will take Melek and not return. Kavruk senses something else and he asks, if she left Melek with you and left alone, never to return, would you accept that deal? [bingo!] The look on Sancar’s face answers the question. Yes, Kavruk knows, this thought hurts Sancar. Why is this happening to me, Sancar says.

Kavruk says he warned Sancar not to get married. It would be more like a funeral than a wedding. [that’s what we said!] Sancar knows Kavruk is right but tells him he talks too much. [Keep talking, Kavruk]

Kavruk unlocks the door and Sancar immediately goes to his daughter. He gently strokes her hair to wake her. Dad! Melek jumps into his arms. Hugs and kisses. Melek asks him what happened to your face? I think Sancar blames it on the horse, Night (Gece means Night in Turkish).

Melek tells her dad she made a list for the new house and shows Sancar her drawings. Look, there is a garden and mom said yes. She gives him the drawing with the horse and tells him mom said it was impossible. Sancar tells her nothing you want is impossible, all you have to do is wish for it. [I take that to mean he would give her anything she asks for.] She shows him the picture with “dad”. She asks, you said anything I want? Mom said you couldn’t.

Sancar explains he can come for her whenever she wants and they can be together. Melek tells him, I see, you can’t get me what I want. Married dads can't do it, right? They look at the picture and at each other.

Menekse’s back from her prison outing and knocks on the mansion door. Elvan opens, ah what do you want? Are you coming to see our mother-in-law? Do you plan another attack against Nare? Menekse strikes back, what Halise said yesterday bothered you, didn’t it? Now you take it out on me. Elvan plays it cool, why would I do that? She got upset because I asked you about Nare. Elvan doesn’t care because Halise has lost power, just like Menekse. Menekse pushes past Elvan into the house. Zehra comes out into the hallway.

Menekse thinks otherwise, that Halise will still be around. She drops the bomb on Elvan, Yahya offered money to Nare’s attackers to get Necdet out of prison. Nothing will happen to Necdet, to me or my MIL. With that, Menekse retreats to the cursed bedroom. Both Elvan and Zehra are reeling from this revelation. Zehra says, Yahya couldn't do something like that, right? Zehra goes outside for air. Elvan runs out, too.

Yahya and Halise arrive at the mansion and Zehra heads straight for them. Is it true what I heard? You plan to get Necdet out of prison? Yahya wonders how she knows. Elvan pipes up the name rhymes with “enekse”. Zehra asks if Sancar knows. Yahya says, Yahya planned it all by himself. [ha, he referred to himself in 3rd person.]

Elvan is ticked. How did you come up with this idea to do it yourself? How did you decide to sacrifice another mother to save yours? Halise commands Yahya to put his wife in her place or she will do it herself.

Elvan can’t believe what she’s hearing. She asks Halise, at what point did you become this way or were you always like this? And what about you, Yahya? Elvan thinks back, I remember one day I was working in your gardens. I was working non-stop, without a break and suddenly I saw a car approaching. It kicked up clouds of dust as it got closer and closer and closer. It stopped in front of me and the car door opened. My life stopped. If you saw the person who got out of the car, you could see that person was in command as if everything belonged to them.

Yahya thinks Elvan is talking about him. Elvan continues, and that's when I told myself that I had to be that lady’s daughter-in-law and be a part of her family. Yahya can’t believe it—what? Yes, Elvan tells him, that's right, your mother impressed me. I married Yahya, to become a DIL.

Yahya asks, you married me just for my mother? [another hit to his self-confidence] Elvan tells Yahya to be quiet, she doesn’t want to hear from him. Elvan asks Halise, what did you do, suegra? You disappointed me more than anyone. You attacked another mother. Now you won’t face the consequences and Necdet will get out of prison like nothing ever happened. Halise looks slightly shamed [likely won’t last long].

Elvan’s got a few words left for Yahya, if you don't want me to tell Sancar, go fix this. We can't hurt Nare anymore. That’s her last word. A very hurt Yahya tells Elvan, instead of having chosen a MIL you should have found a husband. He won’t do what she asks. Yahya leaves. Zehra tells her mother she is ashamed and walks back into the house with Elvan. They close the door on Halise!

Halise sobs outside the door, you can't rebel against me. How can you do this to me? How long will it take you to forgive me?

Sancar has made breakfast for himself, Melek and Kavruk—sucuk and eggs. They gather in to eat but Melek says they need parsley. She mentions something about doing the hair thing? What’s that? They will see. She will go out to the garden and asks them to wait for her. Before she goes, she asks her dad to help her plant parsley in the new garden. Sancar smiles and says, we will plant it together.

Kavruk tells Sancar, Melek wants you to live in the house that you are going to buy for them. Please say you are not giving up that easy. What do you want from me, Sancar asks? Kavruk asserts he wants what Melek wants. Because it hurts to look at her. She wants to see her parents together.

Frustrated, Sancar tells him her parents can’t be together, what don’t you understand? Kavruk doesn’t give up. What are you talking about? How can you not be together? No, Sancar says, her mother left after breaking my heart. Kavruk says she just flew, she didn't leave. Sancar says, yes, but she hid my daughter from me and then she came back. Now to get what she wanted, she took my daughter away from me.

Kavruk counters, and you are an innocent man who does nothing? Sancar knows that, but he doesn't understand why she loved him or why she came back after so long. He did understand one thing, that he would be with her again. Sancar tells Kavruk, to forget about her, I thought the best thing was to be with another woman. He raises his voice, Melek is the unfortunate one and nothing can be done.

Melek walks in and asks if they were fighting? Sancar tells her they were arguing about the parsley. Melek places the parsley on the breakfast dish.

Zehra calls Sancar with the news: Yahya wants to get Necdet out of prison. Where is he, Sancar asks? Ha, Elvan’s tracker comes in handy, Yahya is at the marina.

Nare is at the marina, too, and runs into her father out front. What are you doing here dad? Guven says, that guy Gediz told me he would give me my phone. And he did not come to work. Nare gives her father the phone. And oh, BTW, I deleted the video you saved, she says, the one you told me that you had deleted. The one with me stabbing Akin after he attacks me. Now it’s gone.

Yahya arrives at the marina and doesn’t want to be bothered with anything. Deniz tells him about the Greek tour company problem. Dudu arrives and greets Yahya. He doesn’t remember her at first but then, oh, yes… she tells him she is working there now. Deniz tells them that Gediz is still not answering his calls. Dudu thinks that Yahya can handle things now that he’s here. [hey, he’s happy someone finally values him.] Dudu has bought baklava because she saw on social media the Greek likes it. They go in to meet with him.

Nare enters the office area and hopes for the best. Deniz tells her it’s under control, Yahya showed up. Nare knocks on the door and walks into an argument between the Greek and Yahya. They are arguing about whether baklava, yogurt and coffee is Greek or Turkish. The Greek calls Yahya and Dudu rude and Yahya returns the sentiment. Nare closes the door quickly. How can she solve this?

Meanwhile, Gediz and Muge continue their driving lessons. Nare calls Gediz and he picks up. She tells him to come to the marina right now. The Greek tour wants to leave us. In fact, he is fighting with Yahya now. Gediz will be right there. Muge has to go along for the ride.

Nare walks back into the room as the Greek gives his final word—I do not plan to continue working with you, it's over. Nare stops him, I understand why are you upset but please don't go. Mr. Gediz is on his way. The Greek likes Gediz but not this one. He points to Yahya. He is very rude. Nare says that Mr. Yahya was about to leave [hint, hint] Nare signals for Dudu to leave, too.

Nare apologizes on behalf of them and introduces herself. She asks him to sit and he does. He thanks Nare for the apology, but his decision is final. Nare understands. These are his ships and he makes the decisions, but she asks him not to be angry with Yahya. The company and the families have been through a lot lately. The Greek says that is why we are ending the agreement, because of the property problem.

Nare tells him that has already been resolved and all the accusations have been cleared up. The Greek thinks there’s still something to it. Nare explains that Sancar Efeoglu has a daughter, but is separated from the mother. Her family never liked him so they falsely accused him. Ah, family problems, the Greek says. Yes, they have been under a lot of pressure. But, she continues, the boats are yours and you decide what to do.

Sancar asks Zehra to tell him what she knows. Yahya offered money to the other men so they would say that Necdet was not involved. Sancar can’t fathom why Yahya would so such a thing.

Nare goes into Gediz’ office and finds Muge sitting on the couch. Muge gets up to leave but Nare asks her not to go. Muge is angry. What you said is very serious, she says, and you threatened to tell Gediz. What else is there to talk about?

Nare tries to reason with Muge. I understand… Muge angrily interrupts, you have no idea of anything. I haven’t been able to contact Akin, his phone is off. maybe they arrested him or maybe he is in prison. And because of you I can't stop thinking horrible things. After nine years I'm doubting the love of my life. What if it's true? What if Nare is right? What if he’s in Barcelona? Nare says, the reason you’re mad at me is because you're scared. You’re afraid that everything I said is true.

Muge asks if Nare trying to get revenge. Maybe you were in love with him, but he didn't love you. Maybe something happened at that birthday party but it didn’t work out for you. Nare tries to keep it together as she listens. Maybe you took it the wrong way when he was rude to you. You were so young.

Muge, enough, don't do this, Nare asks. Muge says, what if…. what if you misinterpreted it? Did you say no? Nare doesn’t answer that question. She has a video to show Muge. She can see for herself.

Muge is hysterical, why are you doing this? I don’t even ask Sancar why he set a trap for the man I love because I know why. You told the same lie to Sancar years ago, that's why he set the trap! Then you told Gediz and he believed everything! You made everyone hate Akin! Muge cries. Nare is stunned.

Gediz sorts out the final details with the Greek. He walks to his office and hears the argument from outside the door.

Nare says, I'm sorry and Muge says don't touch me. Why do you apologize? For the slander? Gediz enters and asks what’s going on. Gediz defends Muge, first Sancar and now you? What problem do you have with my sister? He asserts, my sister has nothing to do with Akin!

Nare asks Gediz to calm down, Muge isn’t well. [and she’s about to get worse]. Gediz asks Nare if that matters to her. You didn't mean it when you blamed her? Nare says she wasn't blaming Muge for anything. Gediz asks Nare to step out onto the balcony for a moment.

Gediz unloads on Nare, tell me what my sister has done to you? Or am I the one who has done something? Tell me. I have never blamed you for anything like you are doing to her. You were living with someone in Switzerland, and when Sancar called, and he answered. I didn’t say anything. The hidden money disappeared, I didn't even look for it. I thought there was a good reason, he says. That’s what you do for your loved ones. When someone you love comes with a corpse, one begins to dig the grave without asking questions. You can’t call him your best friend and then blame his sister.

Nare has listened enough. You are my best friend, she says, that's why I hadn't told you about the relationship between Akin and Muge! Everything I've done has been to help and protect Muge, don't you see? I knew it was going to ruin you and here we are!

Muge comes out on the balcony, show me the video, she says, I want to see it. Gediz asks, what video? Muge is crying, but she wants to see it. Nare says okay, but Sancar can never see it. Gediz wants to know what's in the video. Something that would make Sancar want to kill Akin, Nare says, and ruin his life.

And speaking of Sancar he pulls up to the marina as Nare starts the video. He spots Nare, Gediz and Muge up on the balcony and watches.

The video plays, Muge and Gediz are horrified and sickened at what they see and hear. There’s no denying it now. At some point they need to look away because they are so affected. Below, Sancar wonders what’s going on. They come back to finish the video.
Muge cries, this can’t be. Akin wants me... Gediz realizes that the accusations against his sister are true.

Sancar hurries up to the office building.

Gediz slumps to the floor. Tears in his eyes. He can’t speak.

Nare goes to comfort Muge, you'll be fine. You'll get over it, I’m going to be by your side. Forgive me but you had to see it to believe it. I’m sorry, Muge. Sancar shows up and heads out on the balcony and observes the emotional devastation. He notices Nare holding her phone.

Gediz says softly, it was true. He breaks into a sob—Muge was in a relationship with Akin. Sancar is looking around, trying to process what is happening. Sancar goes to Gediz and holds him while he cries. Calm down, Gediz, it’s okay, my friend, here I am. Sancar and Nare nod to each other. Sancar cries as he comforts Gediz. Everybody is crying…

Nare takes Muge back inside and Sancar helps Gediz. The distraught siblings sit together on the couch. Sancar signals to Nare, let’s talk outside.

Sancar sighs and Nare asks, do you think they will overcome this? I hope they do, Sancar replies. Nare tells Sancar he is a good friend. Sancar tells her likewise.

It’s a bit windy out on the balcony and Sancar asks her if she is cold. Obviously yes. Sancar tells her, if you go out like this, of course you will get cold. He takes off his coat and puts it around her shoulders. This is one of those beautiful moments where they look into each other’s eyes and smile. Sancar’s eyes make a detour to Nare’s phone and he pulls it out of her hand. Let me see it, he says.

And we are out.

ACUERDAS, Ep. 48: Whatever it Takes Part 1
Adversity shakes the foundation of our character to see if what we believe and value are worth standing for. -Rae Smith

(Previously: Andres surprises Marina with a visit to her apartment. When she wonders how it is that he left the hospital, Andres relates a dramatic escape from the hospital with cops being called and sirens blasting…but he is only kidding. The only truth he can say is that she is more beautiful than ever. Big smiles form Marina who invites him to help her put up some books.)

Julio tells Octavio that Fausto is indeed alive. Fausto hadn’t surfaced for years…until he found out that Vera was becoming close to Olmo. When Octavio asks how much Vera knows, Julio admits that Vera knows everything (well almost, Julio), but she is only a victim of all the circumstances so Julio pleads with Octavio to protect her. Octavio recalls that Fuat asked the same of him and Vera thinks that Olmo is her mother’s murderer but she has no proof. Octavio assures Julio that he will protect Vera, but asks that Julio not tell anyone what they are up to. Julio then confides that he took advantage of working under “Raul Bernal” and bought some shares under his own name. Octavio now realizes why they want t kill Julio.

Lola is with Vera and wonders how much longer Vera will tolerate being watched all the time and questioned about everything she does. When Lola adds that none of this will bring back Antonia, Vera agrees, but she doesn’t know how to get out without someone getting hurt. Nico is very sad because he misses his play father. Just then Vera gets a message from Pedro to meet her in their secret place.

Eddy and Faby are in Eddy’s room suffering from the effects of binge drinking, but Faby wants to try something else—smoking. After she inhales a few puffs, she starts coughing. She then feels sick and passes out! Eddy quickly runs down to ask Emilia (who had no clue Faby was there) for help. Emi quickly runs upstairs as she orders Eddy to get some fluids.

Back in the gardens, Lola wonders if Vera has had any thoughts of going back to Julio. After Vera assures her that she only sees Julio as a brother, Lola gets a text from Julio who asks her not to be upset with him.

Lola is now with Julio asking if he bought the tickets to Vancouver. When he vacillates and tells her that he can’t leave Vera to deal with everything since he is also involved, Lola reminds him that he promised…and if he doesn’t have the courage to leave then she will leave by herself! Julio makes more excuses, but Lola knows that Julio doesn’t want to leave Vera because he is still in love with her. Julio again vacillates…and Lola notes that he didn’t deny it…he is in love with Vera no matter the danger she places them in!

Edson and Vera are on their way to the office when Edson gets a call from his wife, but refuses to answer. After he explains that his son has a recital at school, Vera wonders why he isn’t going; so Edson replies that he’s on the job…and last time he asked for some time because of his son, they almost fired him. Vera insists that Edson should go see his son’s recital and suggests that he drop her off…she will cover for him.

Ivana is in her office when she gets a text from “Unknown” (to everyone except viewerville).She has won! So they can meet at the hotel bar. Ivana smiles impishly.

At the teen bash, Faby has come to; so Emi orders Eddy to call her mother (Ay, no!)

At Teo’s place, Teo is trying to make up for his grandma’s behavior. Gonzo thinks that it should be Teo’s grandma who should be apologizing. Teo tries to make excuses saying that his grandma comes from a different era, but Gonzo insists that it was discrimination...and discrimination leads to violence! Teo doesn’t care what his grandma thinks, he loves Gonzo. Gonzo argues that it is important to him that his grandma accept him into their family.
 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 48: Whatever it Takes Part 2

At Marina’s apartment, Marina is making small talk, but Andres grabs her and kisses her…several times and she doesn’t resist! They finally part and Andres wonders if she feels what he feels. She doesn’t deny it, but she is a married woman and she has to remain faithful to her husband. Andres reminds her that her husband doesn’t love her (points for Andres!).

Gaston goes to see Laiza since it hurts him to know that she is getting married. Laiza reproaches him—men are so selfish and think of themselves. When Gas wonders why she used “them”, Laiza confides that she saw her father. He gives her a consoling tight hug.

Vera and Pedro meet at their secret place. As she approaches, he calls her by her pet name. “Gypsy”, and they engage in a forceful and passionate liplock.

Ivana storms into Jass’s house and blasts Jass for daring to address her informally. She then zips over to Faby and grabs her. Emi tries to talk to Ivana, but Ivana won’t waste her venomous saliva on someone who doesn’t understand her. As Ivana drags Faby out, she tells them she does not want them near her daughter!! (She totally ignores that Faby went to Eddy’s house…not the other way around!)

Vera and Pedro force their lips apart. Vera tells him that one of his kisses is sufficient for her to continue with all of this. Pedro asks about Nico, so Vera tells him that Nico probably misses him more than she does…and he has been refusing to eat. When Pedro mentions that Nico had trouble eating when she was in prison, Vera feels sorry for her son who has been missing someone ever since her mother died. Vera then asks if Pedro really thinks that they can have a happy ending after everything is over (we wonder the same!). Pedro replies that they won’t have an ending, they will have a lifetime to be happy with their son. Just then Vera gets a call from Olmo asking where she is since Edson is not answering. Vera lies and tells him that she is looking at some furniture for the Las Vegas project…and reception there is bad so that is probably why Edson isn’t answering.

Fausto meets with El Chamaco to offer that they work together to “legitimize his capital”. El Chamaco mocks his use of the fancy terms and calls it as it is: money laundering. After El Chamaco asks about Granados and Fausto feigns ignorance , Fausto tells him that he has an offer he won’t refuse.

At the secret meeting, Vera tells Pedro that Olmo wanted the same thing—to know where she was, doing what and with whom. Pedro becomes frustrated and demands that she tell him the truth as to why she stays with Olmo…she can confide in him. Vera assures him that the one she doesn’t trust is Olmo; if he finds out about them…Pedro interrupts and tells her that they are alone and Olmo will not find out. He then tells her that Olmo lied to him about his father. His father was killed by Fausto Galicia! Vera wonders if he really believes that since Olmo is always lying (the same can be said about Fausto, Vera!). When Pedro asks if she knows something that she isn’t telling him, Vera denies it and explains that she just doesn’t trust Olmo. Pedro thinks that Olmo was just trying to protect him from the truth…Tomas and Olmo were friends and partners…and he was just a child and would have been hurt if he knew the truth. Vera agrees that he is right—parents sometimes have to lie to protect their children. She isn’t sure that Nico will understand when he finds out that she has been lying to him. Pedro is sure that Nico will understand that she did it out of love.

Laiza and Gaston are still chatting when Gabriel arrives…surprised and upset to see Gaston there. He orders Gas out…either Gas leaves or he will! Gas volunteers to leave on his own as Laiza watches in disbelief.

Fausto and EL Chamaco are still in their meeting. El Chamaco points out that the Casares are Fausto’s enemies…and the Casares have always come through for him; in contrast Fausto is just starting his business. When El Chamaco advises that he return when his business is more stable, Fausto retorts that he has been warned.

Laiza is upset that Gabriel ran Gas off…Gas is her friend. Gabe thinks that then he is the third wheel so he should leave, but when Laiza pleads with him not to be upset, Gabe cools down.

At night, Vera is getting ready for bed. Olmo asks about her day so she tells him about the trip to the furniture store. Olmo likes that Vera gets involved in his business affairs and will return to the office the next day. When he sees Vera applying cream, he stops her…he wants to help her with the cream.

Ivana is ragging on Faby and telling her that the boy is a bad influence. Faby is making bad decisions…and all because she is hanging out with those of a lower class. When Faby brings up Gaston and his binges, she gets a slap and is told that she will be going to a boarding school! Ivana has already contacted the Mother Superior!

Vera is lying beside Olmo who is fast asleep, having nightmares and talking in his sleep. She hears him say, “Shoot! Shoot, Fausto!” Vera wakes Olmo up and tells him that he was talking in his sleep and mentioned the name “Fausto.” After she asks who Fausto is, Olmo tells her it was just a nightmare and he doesn’t know. Vera then gives him some pills to help him sleep (hopefully eternally).

Julio keeps sending Lola messages that he misses her and doesn’t feel complete without her when he hears a knock on the door, but when he opens the door he finds no one, just a small package on the floor.

Vera gets up quietly from the bed and goes to get her secret phone. She texts Jacinto asking if he has heard anything.

Olmo approaches the security guards and Edson. He asks Edson how things are going on the job. Edson hopes Olmo is satisfied with his work and hands him a notebook. When Olmo asks if Edson would tell him if he dropped Vera off somewhere and Vera went elsewhere, Edson assures him that he would.

Teo wants Gonzo to have breakfast with him and Alicia, but Gonzo doesn’t think Alicia would go for it. Gonzo points out that he has tried to be respectful but he is not going to allow his grandmother to treat him like that. He wants an apology from her. When Teo suggests that he plan a dinner with her so that they can discuss things and his grandmother can get to know him better, Gonzo agrees but he is only doing it for Teo.

Vera takes Nico to his school. He doesn’t want to stay but the teacher tells him that she will take him to meet his peers.

Alberto is upset that Ivana wants to send Faby to a boarding school. Ivana insists that Faby is being a rebel and won’t stay away from the “naco” but Alberto argues that hitting her and sending her off to a boarding school is not the answer. When Ivana stands her ground, Alberto grabs her by the arm and warns her that Faby will not leave the country without his permission, but it doesn’t phase Ivana. She tells him to let her go…they have a meeting to go to.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 48: Whatever it Takes Part 4

Vera rushes in to the office and apologizes for being late. Lola just needs her to concentrate on the job for a little while since they are behind in their work. Vera agrees that they need to hurry because Olmo will be coming in to the office to check up on things.

The D(evil) team meets to discuss business. Olmo is pleased with Ivana’s first meeting with El Chamaco but is displeased that she didn’t make the second meeting at night. Alberto intervenes and tells Olmo that it was his fault because he thinks he should be the one to deal with El Chamaco since Ivana has no experience in that area. Ivana explains that she didn’t show up because their daughter got drunk! When they start bickering, Olmo shouts, “ENOUGH! They should discuss their personal problems in their bedroom! They are there to discuss business. Olmo then tells Ivana that she has a meeting with El Chamaco who is giving her a second chance. He tells her that they need to close the deal…and she must do whatever it takes!!

Vera talks to Lucia who tells her that she hasn’t been able to get Candida released because the judge won’t sign. Vera pleads with her to do whatever she can to help Candida.

Gaston and Olmo walk into the office greeted by the clapping of the employees. Olmo thanks them and appreciates all that they have done. It has been a difficult time, but he always felt their support.

Lola is surprised that Lola made a friend in prison and hadn’t told her. She hopes she is still Vera’s bestie (jealous again??)

Pedro arrives at the office and is greeted by a hissing Ivana who is surprised that he was able to tear himself away from Vera.

Vera gets a call from the school. Nico fainted and was sent to the hospital As she rushes out, Vera calls Edson and tells him to get ready to take her to the hospital. When Pedro overhears, he rushes in to ask Lola what happened to Nico.

Vera runs into the hospital followed by Pedro. She tells him that she doesn’t know what happened… she just knows that Nico was unconscious when he arrived. The doctor approaches and tells them that Nico is conscious but is very ill—he is very anemic and will need a blood transfusion. And (not to our surprise) Nico has a very rare blood type and they don’t have it in their blood bank…they will need to find a donor. (And again not to our surprise) Pedro has the same blood type!

Julio is with Octavio when they get a message from Fausto who is willing to meet with Julio. Julio is afraid Fausto will kill him, so Octavio assures him that he won’t…they will choose a public place.

Edson tells Vera that Olmo is arriving. Olmo approaches and Vera feigns relief that he is there. Olmo wants to see Nico and talk to the doctors. When the doctor approaches and tells them that they have started the transfusion, Olmo demands that he be told everything they are doing to his son!

Fausto is perturbed that Julio wants to meet close to Julio’s house. Tadeo thinks it’s a trap since Julio is always in the company of the cop. Fausto thinks that is what makes it fun.

After Pedro finishes donating blood, he sneaks out. Edson sees him but keeps quiet.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 48: Whatever it Takes Part 5

Teo and Gonzo have dinner with Alicia. Gonzo brings her flowers and Alicia thinks that they are such pretty flowers from the flower stand. When Gonzo suggests that they order a bit of everything so they can share, but Alicia quickly remarks that at her age, she is not one to share her food with anyone.

At the hospital, Vera, accompanied by Olmo, apologizes to Nico for leaving him at school. The doctor tells them that Nico is very anemic…and after they stabilize him, he will need to eat very well. When the doctor adds that they will release him the next day, Vera tells Olmo that she will spend the night with Nico.

Gonzo is talking legal business. Alicia orders more wine so she can tolerate such a passionate conversation. When Alicia insults the waiter and complains about him, Gonzo defends him. Alicia thinks that he must know him from his neighborhood…or he might even ne related to him. Gonzo gets fed up and won’t tolerate it. He tells Teo that his grandmother is a classist and very bitter. Alicia adds that he forgot to say she is very rich. Gonzo pays for the dinner and thanks her for such a bitter time.

Ivana meets with El Chamaco at a restaurant he has completely reserved for just them…he needs to make sure it is safe. He tells her that he has thought about her offer which is the most appealing since he has had others. Before they toast to closing the deal, he needs to ask her something—will she accompany him to his suite?!

"Ivana smiles impishly", "venomous saliva" and "Vera then gives him some pills to help him sleep (hopefully eternally)" were among many favorites.

Jarifa, I also hope we don't have another mysteriously ill "doomed" child storyline either. Vera skirted disaster by the skin of her teeth.

Guess Ivana's pep talk didn't deter Faby in the least.

"he is in love with Vera no matter the danger she places them in!" I'm glad you wised up Lola. Julio does want to love you but he can't quite let go of Vera. I hope you get on that plane. Absence should make him reassess all of this.

Olmo already realizes Edson is covering for Vera, like Fausto, he is managing to stay several steps ahead. It appears El Chamaco’s fate will be an unhappy one.

"D(evil) team" {great one} is indeed distasteful. Olmo telling Ivana to basically sleep with El Chamaco, her willingness to do it and all in front of feckless Alberto was hard to watch.

Yes, anyone with eyes can see Laiza loves Gaston. If she doesn't leave him, Gabe must leave Laiza. He deserves better. Now if only Marina would leave Pedro!!! At the least, Gonzo refused to be insulted and walked away like the man he is... Will Teo mewl or will he do something about it!!

And regarding Ivana. "Let’s make a deal! What a sport!!! Just one of the guys!" Yup! See comment above about sacrificing values. Sheesh, I hope Faby knows better than to take her egg donor's advice!

Diana, "Laiza loves Gaston. If she doesn't leave him, Gabe must leave Laiza." Exactly!! And even if she doesn't end up with Gaston, she should still be upfront with Gabriel...and not use him just to spite Gaston.

I really don't think the writers will take us down the "doomed child" path...but still crossing my fingers that they don't.

Chickie, thank you for another wonderful retelling of a tale that is growing darker and darker as so many innocents are in the line of fire of the evil triangle of Olmo, Chamaco, and Fausto . The evil ones are doing a dance of power , and we must wonder who will win and what collateral damage it will cause.

Ivana has becone increasingly power hungry and arrogant and doesnt realize what a dangerous game Olmo is encouraging her to play with Creepy Chamaco. Yikes She is a busy bee...sleeping with Octavio and now about to also sleep with the other side of the coin ...bad guy Chamaco. Meanwhile, Alberto just stands on the sidelines.

Vera always seems to find an ally to support her...Lola, Julio, Candida, and now Edson. Olmo seems suspicious of Edson , so i am afraid Edson has put himself in danger to help Vera. Vera has a knack of winning over people to protect and help her.

I guess Lola is ready to finally bail on Vera . Perhaps her jealousy of Julio's unwavering concern for Vera is making Lola run away from the drama.

[Kavruk keep talking] Yes! I said the exact same thing! The truth hurts, Sancar, doesn’t it.? Sancar is smart but not near Kavruk’s level.

I’m glad Elvan tells it like it is too. I was really surprised that Yahya getting Necdet out of prison was so quick to be revealed, but I relished in Elvan’s little speech. She pretty much killed too birds with one stone. As if Yahya’s ego wasn’t already bruised, this beating seemed to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. And. now we know why Yahya is given such menial tasks. If it were left up to him, the company wouldn’t exist any longer.

While I understood Gediz’s disappointment and anguish at finding out that Muje really is involved with Akin, I thought his reaction was a bit over the top. Like Nina, pointed out, it seemed like someone had died. And then Gediz doesn’t even rag on Muge for being so gullible and keeping her relationship a secret.

Oh well, gtg. Be back later.

When Elvan revealed why she married Yaya...that was definite blow to his ego. She basically married him for the stature and standing she thought it would bring her because of what she perceived him mother had. Oh well. Not much better than why Meneske married Sancar....but at least Elvan has a much better character....and compassion for people. Not sure if their marriage will recover from this revelation....although Elan appears to really care for Yaya.


I agree...every time Nare has to watch that video...shes's traumatized all over again...and now so are Muge and Gediz. How horrible that Nare's dad can walk around with that video and knowledge....and still affiliate with Akin all that time. He's the worse....no redemption for him in my opinion.

And I hope Halise looses her "good standing" for good as well. She constantly reminds Elvan she can't have kids...attempted to get rid of Nare...and she talks down to anyone who doesn't have money and standing. Like I said before, she has forgotten where she came from. She needs a harsh cold reminder....and to be ousted from the family for good....not sure if that's realistic though.

Nare has lived the nightmare , but she is trying to comfort Muge! Nare is a very strong person.

This show seems to display the fragile egos of these men . They are high maintenance folks. BOohoo. Nare, on the other hand, is left to figure out how to take care of and protect her daughter and herself.

We are also getting PSAs for class distinctions and the new!y rich.

Embajador #32 part 1

Sancar’s got the phone, but it’s locked. Nare panics, give it back to me now. Sancar wants the password. She won’t give the password. She repeatedly tries to grab the phone from him. Sancar tells her he can find someone to unlock it and leaves the balcony. She calls to him, alright, I’ll unlock it. Sancar goes back out on the balcony. Gediz stops Nare, if Sancar watches that video he will kill Akin. Nare says nothing and goes out on the balcony. Gediz follows.

Nare asks for the phone. Sancar is suspicious—if this is a trick… No, it’s no trick, she says, give it back and I’ll let you watch it. She pulls up a video. Who is this, Sancar asks? Watch, Nare tells him.

It’s not the video of Akin’s attack. It is a video of Guven and Akin: Who is the woman Nare is talking about, Guven asks. She said her name was Muge. Akin says she is his spy, the sister of Gediz Isikli. [poor Gediz having to watch this] Nare said she is a good friend and a wonderful woman, how did you get her to become a spy? Because the poor thing is stupid, Akin replies, so stupid that she does what I want all the time. She even found out how Sadiclar stole from the municipality. She thinks she can speak honestly with her lover, who is me. Nare grabs the phone back.

Sancar asks, how did you get that video? From my father’s phone. Did Muge see this, he asks. Yes. Sancar asks Gediz if he is ok. Gediz says, instead of being nice you should hit me. Sancar is surprised, he doesn’t understand. Don’t you remember I hit you with you said Muge was Akin’s lover? You were right, so hit me. Sancar smiles and tells Gediz he’s sorry. Gediz tells them, you knew this and didn’t tell me because it would upset me. I don’t know if I should curse you two or feel something else.

Sancar tells Gediz it’s over. Take your sister home. Let her calm down. Gediz leaves the balcony. Sancar tells Nare they will be better soon.

Sancar grabs his coat and before he leaves, he looks at Muge. She averts his gaze. He says nothing and leaves. Gediz tells Muge, let’s go. She gathers herself and looks for her bag. Nare holds it out to her and Muge angrily snatches it away. Gediz asks his sister what is wrong. She storms out without a word.

Nare tells Gediz to go with Muge. He’s upset at how his sister is acting. Nare knows Muge is upset and thinks Gediz shouldn’t leave her alone. Gediz tells Nare she should think more about herself. You are with a man who bothers you to see a video of those who made you suffer. Why? So that one doesn’t die and the other doesn’t murder him? Gediz continues, my sister became the lover of a rapist and you ask me to go to her so she won’t be alone? Think of yourself for just one day.

Gediz, go find your sister, Nare responds. She adds, consider sending your mother away so she doesn’t see Muge crying. Gediz is frustrated. Very good, he says, I will keep my mother from seeing it. Thanks for trying to find a safe place for my sister to cry over the fact she is the lover of a disgusting rapist. And BTW, what will you do, he asks? Nare replies, I will go to my daughter because she needs me.

Sancar asks Dudu where Yahya is. Dudu doesn’t know; they had a meeting, and she didn’t see him after that. Sancar says he will see the director. Dudu tells him if you mean Nare, she left 5 minutes ago. He’s ticked.

Sancar catches up to Nare with his truck. He forces her to pull over. What’s wrong with you, she shouts [there’s not enough time in the day for that answer]. Why are you driving so fast? What if you crash, asks the man who just tried to run her off the road. Do you want to fine me, Nare snarks back, why are you chasing me? I told you to wait and we would talk, he says. Why are you running? I’m not running, she answers. This morning you said I should stay home to take care of my daughter and now that I’m going to her, you stop me like a madman.

Embajador #32 part 2

Sancar tells her she won’t go anywhere until she answers his question. Ok, what is it? When did you see Akin? Uh, oh. She’s making him crazy, and he goes into jerk mode. You found out he was Muge’s lover, and you went running to him? Was it when I was in prison? Look, she says, you saw the video, why are you asking me something so illogical? [Sancar and logic don’t mix]

Sancar’s not deterred. When you showed up at my wedding with Melek, what happened in Montenegro? Nothing happened, she says. Are you sure, Nare? Don’t lie. When you told Muge you had the proof, I was with her. What? Nare’s caught. Yep, you’re a great liar, Sancar tells her. I heard you tell her you had to flee from Montenegro because of Akin. So tell me what happened, he demands. What happened so you had to leave Montenegro? Just tell me and that’s it. You don’t want me to force you to tell!

Nare shouts back, what’s going to happen if I tell you? Will you believe me? Don’t ask questions if you’re not going to believe the answers! Leave me alone, Sancar! He stops her from getting back in her car. He shouts, I’ve had it with you and your lies! That’s your problem, she replies. Exactly, it is my problem, and I will solve it, he tells her. I will no longer believe you or anyone else. I will find the truth myself.

How, she asks. He’s got some plans and he won’t stop until he finds the truth. The truth about what, she asks. Sancar says, did Akin really do something bad to you or did you cheat on me with your lover? Did you go on vacation with your lover, or did you jump off a cliff? Did you hurt me, or did I hurt you? With that, he gets in his truck and drives off. You hurt me… Nare says.

Guven is getting the royal treatment at the hotel. His phone rings. It’s Sancar. Are you enjoying my hotel? Sure seems like it. I need to find Akin, he says, come up with a plan before I arrive. If you do, it will be a very profitable deal.

In Podgorica, Guven’s ex driver, Kerem is hanging out, snacking and watching TV. Akin arrives and surprises him. Akin tells him to relax, he already did his job. Kerem says he didn’t expect him back so soon, wasn’t he looking for Nare in Barcelona? Akin says he hired a detective, but she hasn’t been found yet. She could have gone to another country. Akin asks Kerem for a list of Nare’s friends in all the countries in which she lived. All the embassies, the university, gym, etc. He wants to know about anyone she could turn to.

Kerem gets to it. Akin reads Nare’s text again. To the absent Nare he says, if I found your phone, I will find you, too. Ha, ha, Kerem turns away and says under his breath, I can’t believe it, he’s a total psycho. [I really enjoyed that wink to the patio] Did you say something, Akin asks? No, nothing. Kerem adds Isabel to his list!

Isabel calls Nare. Nare’s driving so she can’t see the phone. Call back in ten minutes. Isabel says she will change in the meantime. Well, Isabel has changed into her nun’s habit. We see her walk through the grounds of the rehab center. She calls Nare. Nare is in her car parked in front of Kavruk’s house.

Nare sees Isabel is back in Switzerland. Yes, and she’s standing next to Nare’s chair. Nare jokes don’t give that chair to anyone else, or if you do, I’ll come back like a crazy person and sit down in it. Isabel crosses herself, ay,no, don’t say that.

Isabel asks Nare if Akin discovered her trap. She doesn’t think so, but Sancar has decided to find the truth. Oh, says Isabel, let him find the truth. Let him have regrets. He needs to repent. Nare asks her, do you remember how I prayed that would happen. Yes, we both did, Isabel replies. Now I ask the opposite, Nare says. I pray that he doesn’t find out. Why? It’s complicated. You know what Sancar did to those who attacked me here, what do you think he would do if he finds out the truth?

Embajador #32 part 3

Sancar appears and walks up to Nare in her car. Isabel says, how could he find out? He won’t. Nare quickly tells her, Isabel I’m sorry, I have to hang up. Who is Isabel, Sancar asks? And old friend. She gets out of the car. Sancar tells Nare that Melek is not at home. She’s probably at the olive grove. They are face to face, very close, once again. [how long will they tease us like this?]

Nare says, Sancar, we need to talk. About what, he asks? Before I find out the truth? Are you afraid? Tell me. I’m not afraid she says, I just want to talk. Ok then, tell me your new story, he says. She raises her voice, there are no stories, and from now on there is no story, there’s nothing from the past. I’m not expecting you to do anything, you got married, you can be with your daughter. Let’s leave it at that. If you didn’t believe me, forget it. I can’t forget it, he shouts back, I can’t, I tried. I really did. I wanted you to leave, then I could hug my daughter and forget everything.

We get a flashback. Nare telling him she’s not his wife. He kicked her out and he dared to marry someone else. She didn’t betray him, he betrayed her. Sancar says he did it because he was afraid to believe her again.

Back to the present: what’s happening ambassador’s daughter? This is not the time to forget, he says, I need answers. There won’t be any answers, she says. Why? Because I would be right, he asks, or would you be right? Nare tells him there would be no winner in either case. You think I don’t know that ambassador’s daughter? Listen, we will condemn someone, he says. She walks away. He has tears in his eyes.

Melek is at the grove with Kavruk, Zehra and Elvan. They play something called Blind Hen. A person is blindfolded and they have to guess who another is by touching their face. Melek guesses Zehra and Zehra gets a turn. Guess who she lands on—Kavruk! She knows full well who he is but draws it out. Elvan’s not too happy about this and calls her out.
The games are interrupted by Nare and Sancar arriving. Melek explains what they were playing and asks her dad, could you find mom with your eyes closed?

Zehra tells Melek that the adults need to talk. Melek understands that there are things that can’t be discussed around children. Kavruk takes her into the house, he says he’s a child too.

Zehra addresses Nare, we thought that should talk to you about something important. Elvan asks Sancar if he has spoken to Yahya? No, he couldn’t. Nare’s listening but no one is talking. Who’s going to start? Nare wonders what’s going on. Tell me already, she says. Elvan sighs, Yahya is getting Necdet out of prison. When we found out we left. We came here, what else could we do? Nare is stunned. What, Nare asks, how?

Elvan says, I know they hurt you and that was unforgivable for me. She takes Nare’s hand. We wanted to come and ask forgiveness. Elvan sobs, please forgive me on behalf of my husband. Zehra asks for forgiveness on behalf of her brother. Sancar is watching for Nare’s reaction. She squeaks out a thank you and tells them, I need … I have to go now. She quickly walks away and puts her hand to her stomach and then her chest. Sancar looks worried.

Nare barely makes it back to the house. She can’t breathe. She’s having a panic attack. She thinks back to the recent attack and to Akin. Sancar finds her and goes to her. Breathe, calm down, he says. He tries his best to calm her. She gasps for air. He’s alarmed. It’s over now, ambassador’s daughter, ambassador’s daughter! He calls her name, Nare. My love. My, love, listen my love. He strokes her hair, he’s begging her, Nare, listen to me. It’s over. She starts to calm down. She looks at him. Sancar…I’m alright. Yes, I know, he says. Excuse me and I will wash my face, she says. She gets up and goes out to the water faucet.

Sancar follows her to the doorway. He’s very affected by what has happened. He thinks back to informing Nare they caught Necdet and how happy she was that her nightmare was over.

Nare washes her face, composes herself and goes back into the house. Sancar asks if she’s ok. Is it always like this, he asks? Sometimes, she says. He walks her to the couch. Did you know about Necdet, she asks? Yahya is an idiot, he says. He gave money to the men who attacked you to say Necdet didn’t plan it. That they did it on their own. When did you find out, she asks? In the morning, Sancar says, I was going to the marina to speak to him, and I found you watching that video. You know the rest.

Nare wonders why Yahya would want to get Necdet out. Sancar says, it’s so my mother can keep her reputation. Necdet won’t blame my mother and it will be over. So Necdet won’t be punished, she says, your mother will not lose her reputation, while I will have nightmares again. She looks at him.

Sancar punches the wall and shouts, I’m going to find a solution. I promise, No one will be able to touch you from now on! I won’t allow it! Nare takes a breath and says, I can manage by myself as always. Don’t worry about me.

Nare announces, I will press charges against your mother in court, Sancar Efe. That turned him around. He’s surprised but tells her, It’s your right. She asks him, since I heard it from you that the person who hired Necdet was your mother… and if it’s my right… would you testify against your mother?

We have to wait for that answer because we are out!

I wouldn’t put Elvan in the same category as Menekse. Elvan is an orphan, who never knew her parents. I believe she admired Halise and looked to her as an inspiration and mother figure and that’s why she wanted to be a DIL. That's why she was so disappointed in Halise. Ha, Yahya came as an extra, to his great disappointment. Although she enjoys life in the mansion, we see Elvan, often with Gulsiye, busy with household chores. Not at all like lazy Menekse. And yes, Elvan has character and compassion and she tells it like it is. I’m a big Elvan fan.

Rgv Chick, Kavruk is the best. Especially when he’s functioning as Efe’s conscience.
