Dondi...thanks for last night's recap and spending the extra time on Sancar's comments regarding Akin and Nare beign together. You are right...Nare was hesitate to tell Sancar everything before the wedding because she didn't want Sancar to kill Akin. Little did she know he's rather humiliate her and not believe her...than to confront the man who hurt her the most. Oh well.

Nare is smart. She heard Akin say he would do harm to anyone to be with her so she's trying to lure him away to another country. Hope he takes the bait...but he set her up as a thief. ...and I'm sure Halise and Meneske will be eager to see her fall for the theft.

Agreed that Alvin and the unassuming Kavruk are among the more astute and intelligent characters in the show. They are the wise sages that slyly guide the blind until they see the light.

One more thing...it's clear that the custody of Melek still lies with the embajador. That's unfortunate. I see another custody battle in the future. Even if the embajador doesn't want to...I cans see him allowing Akin to force him to take Melek for money...since he's so stupid and bind when it comes to Akin...and money hungry.

ACUERDAS Episode 44 The Ghost of Relationships Past Part 1

Be careful who you make memories with. Those things can last a lifetime - Ugo Eze

Previously: In the not yet christened marital bedroom, Vera starts to excuse herself so Olmo can rest but he says this is your room. Shut the door he asks. Smiling grimly, he savagely grabs her arm bringing her to her knees. His expression is dripping with sarcasm and overt suspicion. He threatens incarceration if she steps out of line. Olmo, pulsating with fury clearly convey that Vera is still a prisoner and that her future, her very life belong not to her but to him.

Vera says if he doesn’t believe in her innocence, send her back to prison! Olmo wants to know why Vera was in prison, but she avers she doesn’t know. When he asks about the message, Vera has no idea who sent it. When she protests, Olmo tells her to try to understand, he was tortured night and day. Vera sympathetically assures him that they will overcome this together. They must remain resolute as there are many who want to split them up but they cannot allow it. She reiterates that if he doubts her, she will return to prison on her own. Olmo apologizes and tells her that her place is there with him, not in jail. I am your wife she purrs. Vera puts her head on his arm as he strokes her hair.

Alberto is packing a suitcase to return to the hotel as Ivana clad in her short black nighty watches. Ivana wants him to stay so they can show everyone they are united but Al scathingly says Olmo is back and refuses to be second fiddle.

Octavio texts Ivana, asking about Faby which she promptly ignores.

Pedro asks Marina if she remembers how they were during the time of Olmo’s wedding. Marina tells him that she doesn’t remember, but she is sure that they were very happy. Pedro’s face mirrors his disagreement with Marina’s wayward assessment.

The bedroom silence is broken when Nico cries out for his mother. Vera thinks he is having a nightmare and starts to get up but is stopped by Olmo. It’s time he takes care of himself Olmo murmurs. Vera does not accept that and Olmo asks if she is going to disobey him (my stomach is churning). Then he says as he is an invalid, he can’t stop her! When he has the nerve to suggest he can’t stop her from meeting someone else, she capitulates and stays. Olmo boasts he trained three children and he knows what he is doing. Vera’s eyes fill as she turns on her side as he puts his head in her neck.

Pedro answers Nico’s screams, learning the child thinks his mother was taken again. Pedro assures him that his mother is there but is busy. He stays and comforts him. Marina listens, her face cold with jealousy.

Olmo confides in Delia that he is worried because his body is not “functioning” Delia understands and thinks it is probably just stress. Delia reminds him that is natural under the circumstances. She urges him to be patient. If Vera truly loves him, she will help him through this. As Delia receives permission to give him a hug, Olmo says he isn’t too sure Vera loves him. The patio murmurs grimly we are definitely sure she loves him not at all.

Alberto goes looking for Ramiro Rendon. When he shows a warehouse worker a picture, the man tells him that the man’s name is Adan Martinez. Ramiro stands and makes a run for it but Silvio and Alberto quickly catch him. They waste no time beating and interrogating him as to what happened that fateful night…Olmo gave him a lot of money to kill Fausto. Ricardo assures them that he killed Fausto but Alberto wonders if his memory will improve once he is before Olmo himself.

ACUERDAS Episode 44 The Ghost of Relationships Past Part 2

Vera goes into Nico’s room and finds Pedro. She thanks him for taking care of Nico. No need to thank me he answers, I am his father. Just as he questions her as to when she will finally tell him why she is with Olmo, Ivana walks in preening with delight at finding the little pajama clad “family” together. At breakfast, Nico mentions Pedro is his (pretend) father. Vera can’t believe what she is hearing and looks around frantically. She tells her son that that must be their secret. Nico says Lola knows and Vera finally smiles and said that is fine.

Attempting to drive Nico to school, Vera is stopped, prohibited from leaving the grounds.

Gonzo and Teo are savoring some time together as Teo grabs him by the hand and says he has a surprise. It is an overnight case for toiletries. Gonzo smiles and declares this a big step forward.

Gabe and Laiza are in bed. There is a knock on the door, is it room service? Ahh, yes it is. Champagne and chocolates and oh yes, a covered platter. As the lid is removed, we see a small black box. As the box is opened, a diamond glistens and Gabe drops to his knee. Laiza looks alarmed and not delighted in the slightest. She stares stoically and tells him that she’s only knows him for three weeks. Gabe understands the truth immediately and asks if the reason is Gaston. No Laiza says soothingly, I just need more time. Viewerville sighs wishing that were true.

Olmo has a family meeting as the company is falling apart. Vera says everyone is concerned, especially Ivana. Gaston tries to make excuses and Ivana admits that recently they put the family first. Olmo insists that from now on they need to concentrate on the company. When Gaston suggests that they have a press conference, Olmo refuses because he doesn’t want to be seen in a wheelchair. Vera suggests a prosthesis which Olmo think is an excellent idea.

After everyone leaves, Ivana stays behind and shows Olmo the text Vera received. Ivana tells Olmo that she thought he needed to see the message and that is why she asked Rocha to lend her the evidence. Ivana points out that is why Vera was incarcerated...she was the prime suspect. She tells Olmo that Vera has many secrets and that she found Vera and Pedro together in Nico’s room. Olmo looks grave.

Pedro and Vera worry that Ivana is talking to Olmo for such a long time. Vera thinks that Ivana is filling Olmo’s head with ideas about her. When Pedro suggests that she leave Olmo, Vera refuses to cave into Ivana’s attacks and to be locked up in the house. They hear Marina approach so they quickly tell her about Olmo agreeing to a prosthetic leg. Lola comes in and interrupts this scene. Marina looks on suspiciously.

Emilia is taking cash from a customer when Fausto shows up. Jacinto comes out as Emilia stares. She admonishes him to remember his promise but he leaves nevertheless. She looks hopeless.

Vera and Lola discuss what Olmo might be up to. Vera tells her that Olmo is insisting that it was only Granados who was involved; she wonders if Olmo is hiding information. Lola tells Vera to get her things so they can leave that house but Vera tells Lola that if Olmo was dangerous when he was in love with her, he is even more dangerous now that he doubts her. Olmo approaches and Lola tries to take Nico but Olmo forbids it. After Lola leaves, Vera tries to reproach him but Olmo tells her that he is the only one who has a right to speak. He asks her who sent her the message on her secret phone. Vera clarifies that the phone was her mother’s and it must have been Granados who sent the message. She tells him that he is not the only one who suffered while he was kidnapped. She was almost killed in prison because they thought she was guilty! She then tells him that she will not allow him to keep her from being with Nico. After she asks if he wants to know everything she does and what she talks about with her friend, she shows him the laptop with the image of the prosthesis clearly visible.

ACUERDAS Episode 44 The Ghost of Relationships Past Part 3 (Last)

Ivana watches Lola say goodbye to Nico. She smiles devilishly.

Teo gets a call from his grandmother. She is in France but coming to Mexico to see him, her favorite grandson! Teo is not delighted 😊

Marina is pulling a jealous tantrum, and reproaches Pedro for spending so much time with Vera. He spent the night with Nico and he got Vera a lawyer. When she spurts out that he risked his life to protect that woman and her son instead of her, Pedro questions if she remembers that. Marina deflects and admits she is remembering some things. Pedro apologizes and assures her that it was not his intention to leave her unprotected.

Nico goes into the pantry and Ivana locks him in, turning off the light for good measure.

Olmo gets a call and Vera goes in search of Nico. They hear screaming and follow the source to the pantry. The keys can’t be found so Pedro grabs a knife to open the door. Pedro rushes in and Vera carries him out. He went in for a cookie and doesn’t know what happened. Staring stonily as all this transpires, Marina looks very unhappy.

Brought before his potential executor, Ramiro is terrified. Olmo didn’t expect to see Ramiro Rendón ever again. He tells him that he thought Fausto died the night Tomas died. Ramiro tells him it was a long time ago and he doesn’t remember. After receiving a torrent of blows, Ramiro assures him that he shot at Fausto several times and he fell down the ridge. He thought he was dead. Ramiro then admits that he knew Fausto was alive and that is why he had to disappear...he lost what he loved most...his wife and daughter. Olmo tells him he is a traitor and doesn’t deserve to live. Olmo them orders Alberto to kill him. As he begs for his life, Ramiro sees Delia. Delia my love he cries. Is that you Delia manages to utter, staring intently.

Octavio barges in to see Julio, insisting that Julio tell him what he knows about Fausto.

Fausto tries to look a bit shame faced as he apologizes to Jass for being so hard on him. When Jass tells him that he has done things for him that he never thought he would do, Fausto knows he is right...and that is why he is there...to ask for his help in finding a place to live. Jass will think about it since Emilia and Eddy are hurt because of what he has become. After Jass leaves, Fausto asks Tadeo what he thought about his performance. After Tadeo praises him, Fausto laughs that the pity play always works on those idiots. And thus, any hope for Jass’ fractured family to heal has been unalterably shattered.

Vera and Pedro finally manage to pull off a secret meeting. Pedro thinks Ivana locked up Nico and is worried that Nico is in danger. He wants to tell everyone that he is Nico’s father but Vera says they can’t because Olmo would kill them. Pedro then tells her that she should leave because she hates Olmo. Vera retorts that she does hate Olmo and that is why she is there. Pedro doesn’t think she is making sense, but Vera counters that his marriage doesn’t make sense either.

Ivana taunts Vera about Nico. Ivana then tells her that she may be able to fool Olmo but she can’t fool her...she doesn’t love Olmo. With a toss of her head, Vera retorts that Ivana loves him enough for both of them! Ivana them flaunts the closet keys and tells Vera to take care of her son because accidents can happen very quickly. Vera attacks her and tells her not to mess with her son again!! Ivana calls her a traitor and slaps her hard. Vera returns the slap and at that, they fall down the staircase of doom, both motionless at the bottom.

I would have thought that Vera would have learned, in the big house, how to slap someone, like Ivana, like she really meant it. There better be an extra special anvil for Ivana for terrorizing a child.

Marina is turning into one more snake in the grass.

Pedro wants to tell all now? Really?

Vera should have told Nico to call Pedro his “play uncle” certainly not agree to calling him his “play father”. This could come and bite them all.

Yes, I keep saying Ivana hasn't murdered anyone (yet), but anyone "terrorizing a child" as you noted, is irredeemable and deserves a fitting punishment.

I'm waiting to see what Marina's latest transformation to sour and dour means. Will she be unpleasant, just lurking around or will she join Ivana in trying to make Vera's life totally miserable?

I wish I'd thought of Pedro playing Uncle. Great idea as Pedro being called daddy looks and sounds bad, despite it being the truth.

I'm waiting for Ivana to get out the cotton swabs for DNA tests. Ack.

Embajador #28 part 1

Sancar goes to the safe in his refuge and takes his passport and some cash. He hears Melek call him, and he remembers her calling him “jealous”.

Sancar goes into the stable. Kavruk is tending to Night nearby. Sancar opens a trap door in the floor and takes out a bunch of letters—Nare’s letters to him. Sancar walks a short distance away and drops some of the letters on the ground. He takes a match and sets fire to one, then drops it on the pile. Kavruk runs over and stamps it out before it all goes up in flames. What are you doing, he asks Sancar. What do you think, Sancar replies? You shouldn’t burn the letters; you don’t need to do this my friend. Sancar asks, should I let them burn me instead?

Are you going to search for the ambassador’s daughter, Kavruk asks? No, I’m going to find her. Sancar tells Kavruk he has a flight tomorrow and he hopes to return with his daughter. What? Where are you going? Do you know where Nare is? She’s in Barcelona. Kavruk is surprised, he asks, doesn’t the grandfather have custody of Melek? Sancar took care of that and tells Kavruk the ambassador is going with him. Now, if you allow, I have a lot of letters to burn, Sancar says. Kavruk says he’s going to sleep and quickly runs off. Sancar notices.

Sancar sits against a tree and lights a match. He picks up a letter. A portion of the letter is sticking out of the envelope. He smiles and reads: “do you see Sancar? You told me I would forget about you and what happened? I wrote you. You lost the bet.” Little Sancar responds, “I’ll win when we grow up. I will not burn the letters now. I will do it in front of you. I want you to see me do it.”

Big Sancar gathers up the letters and takes them into the house. He is packing a bag when Menekse comes in. Where are you going? To get my daughter. So, you have found her, Menekse says, but it is obvious this woman does not want to be here. She wrote a letter to Gediz. Sancar answers, I need my daughter by my side. He goes to leave. Menekse stands in the way.

Menekse starts, you threw my mother out of the mansion for me, remember? You told the guests, “I’m doing this for Menekse.” Why did you say that? She puts her hands on him and looks him in the eyes, you are a stranger to me, she says, but you are searching for woman who is a stranger to you and writes letters to another. [ouch!] A woman who leaves without telling you. I know you have suffered a lot lately and so have I. Listen, love has no pride, I know that. That’s why you and me…Sancar steps back and interrupts, Menekse, you know nothing, don’t mix things up. It would be a terrible mistake.

Sancar is about to get in his truck when Gediz and Muge drive up. Gediz tells Sancar, you asked me if Nare needed money—don’t worry anymore. He gives the note to Sancar. She took the hidden money. Sancar reads: “sorry I needed it. I’m writing because I do not want to blame an innocent person. I took the money, consider this a support payment. Nare.” Gediz takes out the letter Nare wrote to him and says, if you want to compare the handwriting, it looks similar. No need for Sancar to look, he knows her writing.

Halise comes out, she’s with the driver and must be going to the hotel. She greets Muge. Muge tells her that Nare took the money. What? Sancar laughs, she did the right thing this time. At least I know my little girl is not starving. Halise says, if she hadn’t taken my granddaughter you wouldn’t have to worry at all. Should we celebrate she stole from us? Sancar says she didn’t steal, she took his money. He tells Gediz he will pay him for what was his.

Embajador #28 part 2

Sancar goes to get in his truck. Gediz asks, where are you going? To Barcelona. Since Sancar is leaving, Halise decides to stay at the mansion. Gediz asks the driver, Nedim, to take Muge home. Gediz is going to get his passport and go to Barcelona, too.

Kavruk meets with Nare in her hideout. He informs her that Sancar is going to Barcelona. Nare is distressed. What? Seriously? What have I done? They are going to meet in Barcelona.

Akin is on line at the airport. Sancar and Guven are on the same line several people back. Guven complains it’s taking too much time. Sancar smirks, now you are an ordinary man. You don’t have the same privileges, get used to it. Guven blames Sancar for ruining his career. Sancar is ticked. I have told you a thousand times, you did not lose your job because of me. Understand?

Sancar has a thought. He asks Guven, when you got fired, they canceled your passport? How did you get a new one so fast? A friend got it for me, Guven says. Sancar realizes that Nare and Melek didn’t go anywhere. What? Sancar asks Guven, when they canceled your passport, they canceled Nare’s and Melek’s, right? Yes, that’s true. Sancar happily says, my daughter did not leave, she’s here, my girl did not leave. His smile fades and he says, your daughter has lied to us.

Gediz shows up at the airport. He missed the flight to Barcelona. Nare calls him. He tells her Sancar is on his way to Barcelona. He will be there in a few hours. Nare cries, I lied to you. I did it so you would lose track of me. She’s too upset to speak and Karvuk tells her to calm down. Gediz hears Kavruk’s voice. Kavruk? Damn, Nare, where are you? At Kavruk’s grandfather’s house. Gediz is on his way and Sancar spots him leaving the airport.

Gediz arrives at the house. He doesn’t know whether to hug her or shake her. Better if I do neither, he says. He was worried. They walk to the back of the house and Kavruk goes off to let them speak in private. Nare asks, did you tell Sancar yet? Not yet. Well, folks, there’s no need to tell. Kavruk walks right into Sancar, who followed Gediz. He watches Nare and Gediz from afar.

Gediz says, you wanted Akin to follow you, is he there? She nods. What happened? Nare says, he looked for me when you were in prison. Did he find you? She nods again. Did that bastard come into our house when we were in prison? That’s right, Nare answers, he fooled your family. He said, “Gediz went to prison because of the ambassador’s fault, and I came to remedy the situation.” That’s how he got in, but he just wanted to see me.

Did he enter your room? Of course, she states, that maniac would follow me to any corner of the world. That’s why I felt I had to do something. I am taking advantage of his weakness. For my father, it’s gambling, for Sancar it’s doubt and for me it’s my family. I know Akin’s weakness and so I attacked it. [don’t forget Gediz’ weakness, it’s Nare!]

Gediz wants to know why she didn’t tell them. It was irresponsible. And by the way, was it necessary to take something that wasn’t yours? Nare has no idea what he means. I’m talking about the money from the marina, he says. Uh, oh. Nare pauses and thinks. Did you not leave a note, Gediz asks. It was in your handwriting. Nare remembers Muge saying she is in love with Akin. Nare says she wrote it, but she doesn’t sound too convincing to Gediz. He asks if something is wrong. No, she’s just surprised at how quickly they figured it out.

Embajador #28 part 3

Why didn’t you tell us you needed money? I would have supported you, he says, and Sancar, too. Nare couldn’t do that because they would have figured out her plan. She asks Gediz to call Sancar, maybe his plane has landed. Gediz says the plane only took off from Istanbul half hour ago. She’s distraught at the thought that Akin and Sancar will meet because of what she did. What will happen if they meet?

Gediz tells her to calm down. Sancar will go to Barcelona, look for you and return. They will not meet. How is that so? Gediz tells her the police are looking for Akin. He is in serious trouble. His accounts were frozen. He will not be able to travel. Why are they looking for him, she asks?

Gediz laughs, Sancar incriminated Akin for the theft of the 9 million we took from the municipality. How? It was something very simple. A fraud was committed eight years ago and when the clues were followed, the guilty man was found. Nare is trying to process this. This happened eight years ago , she asks? So why didn’t Sancar believe me? Gediz says he asked him that. Sancar said it was impossible to think with a cool head. He said, “if I believed her, I would have to take a life”.

Sancar appears and Gediz jumps to defend—I will tear you apart if you cause a problem. Sancar warns him not to get involved. I’m here for my daughter. He blows right past them and into the house. He finds Melek sleeping. He strokes her hair and kisses her head. She wakes. Dad! Hugs and kisses. I missed you. I was counting the days till I saw you again! I need you by my side! I also missed you, Sancar says, tell me the truth, did you leave me so I would miss You? Hmmm….

Flashback. Nare is writing a letter. What are you writing, Melek asks? A letter to Gediz. Why? Nare sits her down to talk. We have to leave for a while. What? But my father… Nare says, you know Akin came into our room last night and we were very afraid. That’s why we have to do something to get him to go far away from here. We will pretend we are leaving forever. Akin will follow us but we won’t go anywhere. We will hide for a few days. Melek says her father will not allow it. Nare tells her we don’t need permission and we will have to hide from him, too.

Why do we have to hide from him? You know your father believes a woman should not work. Your father and I have argued about it. Melek says they are always arguing. Yes, I know, but despite that, we never came to an agreement. That’s why we must think of another solution. What will we do, Melek asks? We will pretend we are leaving forever to get rid of Akin. Your father will miss you but then we will confront your father. I’ll tell him “Melek will stay with me, you will visit whenever you want without a problem. If you don’t accept, we will leave the country.” Melek goes to pack her things and tells her mother she should do so, too.

Nare needs to finish her letter first. Melek reads over her shoulder: “I think Sancar thinks that I will no longer be able to destroy anything else if I stay home alone. But I do not intend to obey. I won’t allow him to tell me what to do.”

Back in the present, Melek tells her dad, I would never leave you so you would miss me. Another round of hugs and kisses start.

Sancar and Nare are out walking. Why didn’t you write me a letter, he asks? Because I used to only write you happy letters. Right, he says, you never told me about your mother. But my letters brought you happiness, she tells him. So, no more letters, he says. Yes, that’s right, Nare says, that woman doesn’t exist anymore. Sancar says that’s true, now that girl is a mother who kidnaps her own daughter to make me angry.

Embajador #28 part 4

You don’t know what you are talking about, Nare says. We spoke about this, he says, I asked you to be honest with me, but you lied. Nare raises her voice. What did you want me to do, she asks, I’m not the type of woman to stay at home. If you don’t understand, what can I do? Don’t do anything, Sancar says, you’re not the type of woman who stays home, but you are a woman who lies and kidnaps my daughter instead of accepting the terms of the deal. You know that’s not fair.

Nare is willing to admit this. Sancar says, tell me what you want. What? You kidnapped my daughter to pressure me. You win, he says. Tell me what you want. Nare can’t believe it. She asks if he is playing a game. I don’t like games, ambassador’s daughter, so tell me now.

My daughter will live with me. Sancar accepts. Are you serious, she asks? Sancar says, I will visit her whenever I want, and she can visit me. Nare agrees and says, I will work. Sancar says, yes, but not with Gediz. She nods. And I will rent my own house. Sancar puts out his hand to close the deal and she takes it. He gives her “that look”. [How she can resist? Oh, well.]

Sancar shows Nare the note left at Ayse’s house and she reads it. He knows she would never asks for support. Nare says she wrote the note. He tells her to stop lying; she didn’t take the money. He wants to know who she’s protecting. Nare insists she took the money and will return it. She walks away, and he stops her. Sancar’s not buying it. She’s not protecting anyone. I just needed a little help for your daughter. What is his problem?

The note is a forgery. Sancar knew as soon as he saw it. It’s a good fake, but it is fake. Did Akin write this? He could get the best forgers. You lived together for many years. She walks away from him again. He says something that’s unforgivable: Are you and akin accomplices? That stops her dead in her tracks. Sancar walks up to her. You are protecting that man? Akin is your lover?

Gediz appears and watches from a short distance. Once Nare gets over the shock of the accusation, she slaps Sancar across the face and shouts, you are a monster, Sancar! That’s what you are! Gediz sees and moves closer. Ok, Sancar says, but tell this monster the truth, don’t protect Muge. Sancar says, Akin is Muge’s lover, right? Whoa!

Gediz rushes Sancar and knocks him down. He repeatedly punches Sancar, who does not fight back! [raise your hand if you are enjoying this] Gediz shouts, will my sister be next? I’m tired of your mistrust. This is my sister! My sister! After absorbing a few hits, Sancar throws Gediz off and gets up. Sancar admits he overstepped. And shouldn’t have said that about Muge. Okay? Not okay, it was too much for Gediz. Sancar apologizes and asks Gediz to forgive. It’s not that easy, Gediz answers. He grabs Sancar again. You worry about your daughter, but you speak ill of Muge! Sancar understands but he doesn’t want to continue the argument here. He looks at Nare. Nare agrees it would be better for them to go so Melek will not see. Gediz apologizes to Nare and leaves.

Sancar smiles at Nare, you like seeing me like this, don’t you. She gives him a tissue, your lip is bleeding and so is your eyebrow. He says first your slap and now Gediz. Nare says maybe he deserved it. Sancar admits he did. She asks him why he didn’t you fight back with Gediz. Because it was inappropriate. If he heard something like that about Zehra, he would lose his mind. But he tells Nare, you and I know what I said was not a lie. Nare says nothing. He laughs, you repeat your betrayal to me. He will be back later, we have to think of something to tell Melek. He leaves her with this, you got what you wanted. If you keep my daughter away to blackmail me, you will regret it.

Guven is trying to reach Akin. Oh, poor Guven, making his call on a public phone. He leaves a message. I’m penniless because of you. I have to stay in a hotel! You are going to pay for making things difficult for me. Do you know what I will do? I have the video where you attacked Nare and I’ll give it to Sancar!

Gediz and Sancar show up at the grove office. Yahya is there, too, he asks what happened to Sancar’s face. Nothing, Sancar says. Guven asks if they found Nare. Oh, is he worried? The only thing he is worried about is money, Sancar says. He asks Guven to wait there and asks Gediz to come with him.

Guven asks Gediz for his phone back but Gediz doesn’t have it on him, it’s in his coat, he will have to wait till later. Ha, Guven asks Yahya to get his phone. Yahya says he’s not a servant. Wait.

Sancar and Gediz enter the factory floor. Hit me, Sancar tells him and Gediz quickly obliges. Gediz wants Sancar to hit back. He won’t. This doesn’t work for Gediz. He shouts, you already hurt me and a couple of hits won’t hurt. Akin and Muge? How dare you mention them in the same sentence!

Sancar says, forgive me, I was upset when I said it. Gediz reminds him of what he said in prison. When he said Akin got what he deserved from eight years ago. We get the flashback: if Sancar believed, he would have to kill Akin.

Gediz shouts, so just because Akin is mentioned in the same sentence as Nare, you punished him. But you dare to put my sister in the same sentence as that bastard! Okay, Sancar gets it. Give me what I deserve, he says to Gediz. Gediz struggles with this. Tell me what he did. What did he do to make you think this? Sancar says because he needed money and his accounts are frozen and we were looking for a spy. Gediz grabs Sancar by the collar. For this? Because she wanted to buy a car at a bad time?

Gediz gets a text from Muge: “did you go to Barcelona? Did you find her? Do you think I can go to the bank and get the money for the car?” [Oh, boy.] He tells Sancar he’s giving Muge the 100K for the car and Sancar will keep his mouth shut. Muge gets the text from Gediz and makes a call to Akin. She leaves a message: “where are you? Why is your phone off? Gediz is sending me the money. Call me, my love.”

Ok, says Sancar, Muge will buy a car and I’ll pay for it. Gediz is still trying to process what has happened. Muge! He shouts. His sister has never had a partner. She’s always gone from home to work and back! She doesn’t even leave for a vacation! She only travels for work! Gediz says, I have to beg her to come out and have fun once in a while. This can’t be! And you accuse her of being a spy! Sancar shouts back, stop this nonsense, hit me instead of talking! [sure, this is what works for Sancar]

And we are out!

Thank you, Diana! I do have to once again say that you painted a beautiful masterpiece with your eloquence and flair for words. Thank you!

Vera is very astute and quick to turn things around isn’t she…when she wants to? But how long will Olmo put up with her excuses and promises of love and caring. Not much longer I’m sure, he already has her imprisoned in his home; will he secretly set up cameras to spry on her too? If he does, Vera and Pedro are chopped meat. They tend to be careless about their meetings and with a snake like Ivana who is always lurking, it will be very easy for them to be caught together again and again.

Evilana keeps getting more perverse by the minute. Exactly what did she expect from that little incident of locking Nico up? She only made us hate her even more. And yes, vera needs to learn how to give a good slap!

Yep we certainly know who Laiza’s father is now. It seems very odd to me that Ramiro could just disappear without Olmo wondering why and what was even more unbelievable is how Ramiro was able to stand after that severe beating he was given…hardly a drop of blood on him!!

If I thought Laiza was truly in love with Gabe, I would be cheering them on, but we know that she is stil pining over Gaston. I’m glad she asked for some time.

"Evilana" (love it) played a sophomoric prank rather unworthy of her. Her need to be rid of Vera is impairing her judgement. She is capable of much worse which we will no doubt see all too soon.

Good comment about Ramiro disappearing without Olmo's knowledge. I imagine he thought Fausto was dead and didn't need him anymore? I suspect he just up and left Delia as she was seemed surprised to see him, but not as though she saw a ghost.

After Laiza's completely shut down reaction to Gabe's proposal, I feel certain Gaston and Laiza are end game. For most three weeks is too short a time. I smile only as hub and I got engaged two weeks after we met, were married three months later and this summer will be our 37th. Go figure!

Dondi,thank you, for giving us amazing recaps . I would be lost without them. I try to understand what is happening from tbe visual clues , but i keep wondering "_What are they saying ??!!?"

Sancar is a mystery to me. If you truly love someone, you would never treat them and speak to them the way Sancar treats and speaks to Nare.

Is Gediz going to believe that Muge is Akin's lover and unwitting accomplice?

And it looks like Hellise has taken the opportunity to slitber back into tbe mansion. Well, at !east that will keep Meanie from acting like she is the boss of tbe house.

I was surprised that hotbeaded Sancar negotiated with Nare and was willing to give Nare some of the things shs wanted ...a house of her own and a job ( but not with Gediz).

If Ramiro and Delia were/are married (he mentioned his wife and child), it would make sense that Olmo knew that as Ramiro was his henchman. If so, it was a bit surprising he would order his execution seeing how close he is with Delia. There seems to be a piece missing.

dondi356, mil gracias for sharing your time and talent with us. There is no need to apologize for not having time to comment. We all understand and are most grateful that you squeeze in some time to give us these formidable recaps. I am still in awe of this TN. The storylines are well written and portrayed by all the actors, even those who have made us hate them; your recaps, dondi, are the icing on the cake.

Nare is simply amazing. Of all the TNs I have seen, I have never encountered such an intelligent and sensible protag. Though not perfect, Nare thinks things through and plans accordingly. The only thing I don't understand (from last night's episode) is how she could think that Sancar would not go after her in Barcelona. I suppose she was too focused on getting rid of Akin, but then, she should be planning ahead since Akin will either figure out that she fooled him or give up looking for her and return.

I was pleasantly surprised tha Sancar agreed to all of Nare's "demands." And Sancar figuring out that Muje is in love with Akin was also a nice surprise. It seems that he still has a high regard for his friendship with Gediz as he quickly realized and understood why Gediz was so upset and attacked him.

As for Guven, though he wants to show Sancar the video only to spite Akin and not to help his daughter, I do hope he gets to show it to Sancar. The man just doesn't know how to ask people how to do things without sounding dictatorial. Had he told Gediz or Yahya that there was something on his phone that he needed to show Sancar, I'm sure either one would have gone to get the phone.

Why did Nare take the fall for Muge. She knows Akin used Muge to take the money...she should not have done that but Sancar knows her hand writing and her character. Unfortunately as usual...he's barking up the wrong tree. How dare she suggest she's has anything to do with Akin. Has he not heard any thing she's said about Akin. Melek asked if her dad was always so grumpy....that's an under stateent. He is so angry and bitter he doesn't even try to think...he embraces his ignorance and anger.


And Sancar worry is so basic...and full of jealousy. He was worried about not getting a letter Vs why Nare felt the need to deceive everyone about leaving town. But at least Nare got something out of him. She doesn't have to live in the shadows like she don't exist.

Truly hope that Guven reveals that video to Sancar...before Akin finds out that Nare is not in Barcelona. Don't know who's going to let the cat out of the bag first but I hope Sancar has a better understanding of who Akin is...and Nare's innocence before he returns. Also hope Nare reveals to truth to Muge before he returns as well...though she's gonna feel real foolish when she realizes she wasted 8 years waiting on a filthy lying rapist who strung her out for years. Hopefully she'll have more of sense of self worth than Guven did when he was told the truth about Akin and stop dealing with him.

ACUERDAS, Ep. 45: Stronger Than Ever (NOT!!) Part 1

…and Vera is a master of masquerade…

After Ivana and Vera fall down the stairs, Marina and Faby rush and help them up. Olmo approaches demanding to know what is going on and orders everyone to leave him with Vera and Ivana. Ivana shouts that Vera tried to kill her, but Olmo orders them both to his office.

After Ramiro swears the he didn’t want to betray Olmo, he sees Delia who is surprised to see him.

Ivana tears into Vera telling Olmo that Vera tried to kill her. When she brings up the kidnapping and how Vera was implicated, Vera refuses to allow her to defame her. Vera argues that Ivana has been against her since the first day she arrived and she will not allow her to mess with her son. When Vera tells Olmo that she will not live like that, Ivana shouts, “well then get out!” but Olmo tells them both to shut up! Just then he reads a message from Alberto that Delia has seen Ramiro and is crying. Alberto asks if he should continue with the plan. Outside, after Delia orders Silvio to let Ramiro go, she calls Ramiro “shameless!” If he is there to look for Laiza he should get out. Ramiro replies that is not why he is there.

Pedro is with Mariana and Faby who complain that Vera and Ivana keeping fighting…they could have killed each other! They go in to see Nico who has been watching movies. When Pedro invites Nico to go have something to eat, Marina quickly tells him that she is hungry too...and wants to be invited to go with them.

Ramiro tells Delia that he is there because he has a problem with his eldest son and came to ask for help. Delia slaps him and tells him that he should have stayed in the hole where he was hiding; no one there will help him!

Octavio shows Julio a pictures of the Fausto who was Olmo’s partner. When he asks Julio if that is the Fausto he mentioned, Julio insists that Fausto is dead. Octavio reminds Julio that he named Fausto as being involved with Olmo’s kidnapping and wonders if Julio was trying to tell him that Fausto is alive. Octavio insists that he is going to continue investigating with or with out Julio’s help…while Julio insists that he won’t say anything more.

At the company, Gas is with Melida and tells her that they should have remained coworkers only’ it could have avoided a lot of problems. Melida thinks he is referring to the baby and is glad that Olmo. at least, is looking forward to having another Casares in the family. Gas apologizes and assures her that he was not referring to the baby, but Melida is not convinced.

Vera places flowers on Antonia’s grave. She tells Antonia about Julio who is now her boyfriend. She still feels uncomfortable with the relationship…but she will allow Julio to love her.

Back in Olmo’s study, Ivana denies doing anything to Nico. Vera tries to argue the point but Olmo interrupts and tells them that he has heard both sides and can’t side with either one. If they are going to live in his house they have to follow his rules! Olmo makes it clear that he loves Vera and trusts her. He then turns to Vera and tells her that Ivana has been there for him through good and bad and he trusts her as much or more than he trusts her. He needs more from both of them…he doesn’t care what they think about each other and he doesn’t want to hear another argument between them. After Ivana leaves, era assures him that it won’t happen again.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 45: Stronger Than Ever (NOT!!) Part 2

Octavio goes to see Rocha to discuss the case, but Rocha shuts him down and tells him that the case is closed because Olmo has already cleared Vera and named Granados as his kidnapper.

Alberto and Silvio take Ramiro to the hotel suite. After Ramiro tells Alberto that he can’t kill him because he has a wife and child, Alberto reminds him that he abandoned them. Ramiro explains that he was afraid of what Fausto would do to him….Olmo may be powerful but they don’t know what Fausto has turned into. Alberto retorts that Ramiro will see who he should be afraid of; he then tells Silvio to take Ramiro away.

Delia takes Olmo some whiskey, not because he needs a drink, but because she does. Ramiro reappeared and she doesn’t know why ...he was better off dead. Ramiro only came to stir up emotions. Delia then wonders if Olmo knows what it feels like to be told that he is loved …and then the person disappears without a word. When Olmo assures her that she won’t see Ramiro again, Delia retorts that she does want to see Ramiro…to ask him why he left her and their daughter.

Teo tells Gonzo that his grandmother called and wants to come visit. Gonzo thinks it’s good because Teo can introduce him to her. When Gonzo asks about Teo’s family. Teo responds that the story of his family is long and full of drama.

Gas is in his office when he gets a text from Laiza asking if he is asleep because she wants to talk…she is confused…because Gabe asked her to marry him. When Gas asks what she answered, Laiza confides that she told Gabe that she needed time to think . Gas asks that they see each other before she makes a decision.

Olmo tells Alberto that he wants to confirm that Vera was telling the truth about the message she got. He asks to see Granados’s phone and does see that the message to Vera came from that phone.

Ivana enters her room dissing Vera. Faby thinks it was horrible that they fought and asks why they were fighting. Ivana avoids the question and tells her that she doesn’t need to know anything about Vera. When Faby tells her that her father left and wants to know what is happening, Ivana tells her that this is not a good time.

Vera is with Nico when Pedro slips in to ask if she is okay. Vera pulls him into the closet and tells him that Ivana provoked her and assures him that the fall down the stairs was an accident. Pedro asks her not to let Ivana get to her…he is afraid that she can get hurt and would die if something happened to her.. When he realizes that he can’t lose her because he doesn’t have her, Vera tells him that she would have loved to have left with him when she exited the prison, but Olmo was there. She can’t tell Olmo that she loves him. When Pedro suggests that the three of them leave together, Vera insists that Olmo would kill them . She reminds him that he himself told her that Olmo wanted to kill her when he found out that Pedro was having an affair (eight years ago)…and that was the day when she was going to tell him that she was pregnant. Pedro thinks that none of this would be happening if he had stayed with her back then...and they would be a family. When Vera remarks that the past is the past, Pedro replies that the future can be theirs.

Teo has told Gonzo about his parents and what they did to him when he came out of the closet, but he always had his grandmother’s support. Teo then tells Gonzo that his grandmother is a millionaire …and always gets her way.

Still in the closet, Pedro and Vera are kissing passionately when they hear Olmo shouting for her; so Vera pulls herself away from Pedro and leaves.

Emi is asleep on Jass’s lap. He slowly gets up and sends a message to Fausto asking what he wants him to do. Fausto is happy that Jass caved…just like a perfect idiot! Right before this, Tadeo got the message that the kidnapping case has been closed

Olmo thanks Cuca, the private nurse, for helping him get in bed. He then tells Vera to come to bed with him. He starts kissing her, but when she doesn’t reciprocate he sits back and sighs.

Laiza wakes up to see Gabe packing; she thought they would be spending the weekend there. After Gabe tells her that there are things to do at the restaurant, Laiza assures him that she won’t keep him waiting too long for her response.

At the Casares home, the family is having breakfast. Olmo is glad that they are together like they used to be…united as ever. The maid then tells Vera that someone is waiting for her, so Vera asks Olmo to accompany her…there is a surprise that she wants to show only to Olmo.

Fausto looks around in the house that Jass got for him.

Vera shows Olmo the prosthesis that she ordered for him...it is the best available. Olmo hesitates but at Vera’s urging he agrees to try it out. He wants Cuca to help him because he doesn’t want Vera to see his leg, but Vera insists hat she is his wife and wants to learn how to put the leg on…because they are together in good times and bad (her nose grows!)

Lola and Julio ar e in bed together. Julio is very happy and hopes that the situation with Fausto will end soon so that they can be completely happy.

The family continues eating breakfast when Vera enters followed by Fausto who is now standing and walking on own. Everyone claps. ( Mehh…)

Later, the family goes out to address the reporters who are waiting. Olmo tells them that they were called because of all the rumors that are going around. He assures them that the family is as strong and united as ever. Meanwhile, Ramiro is being beaten again. Alberto tells him that this is his lucky day because Delia spoke up for him and saved him. Delia talked to Olmo and Olmo doesn’t want to hurt his best friend….but it comes with a price. Ramiro is to find Fausto and bring him to them. If he doesn’t do it then Alberto will have to break Delia’s heart and kill him.

The press conference ends but a reporter has one last question…about Vera being imprisoned and accused of being involved in the kidnapping, Olmo and Gas try to avoid the question, but Vera speaks up and tells them that it is true she was in prison, but how could she do something like that when their life as a married couple was just starting. And the proof is that she and her husband are there together… more united than ever…despite all the adversities that have only made them stronger as a couple. She then calls Olmo “sweetheart: and kisses him as the reporters capture the pitiful site.

Julio walks Lola to her car. At a distance, Octavio watches and follows them.

Laiza arrives at the Casares home hoping to see Gaston, but when she sees him and Melida talking and laughing together, she starts to leave. Delia runs out and wonders if Laiza was going to leave without talking to her. Laiza thought that Delia was still upset with her, but Delia thinks that Laiza was the one who was upset. But it doesn’t matter who was upset because they will always be together.

 

ACUERDAS, Ep. 45: Stronger Than Ever (NOT!!) Part 4

After Cuca helps Olmo to his room, Vera wants to help him with his prosthesis, but Olmo wants to know if she really suffered a lot when in the prison. Vera shares about the inmate who was insistent about getting the reward money…but that doesn’t matter anymore. The important thing is that they are together again. Olmo then tells her that he worries about the message that incriminated her….and for that reason, he is going to have her watched all the time; he doesn’t want anything to happen to her. Olmo then gets a message from Alberto to meet him at the stables.

Julio and Lola continue to walk to her car as Octavio watches them. After Lola gets into her car, a motorcycle with two riders approaches and stops by Octavio’s car. When the motorcyclists take off, Octavio sees one of them point a gun at Julio; so he quickly gets out of his car and shouts to Julio but the motorcyclist shoots Julio in the arm…and Julio goes DOWN!!

Vera is walking by the stables when she hears Alberto and Olmo talking, She hides and listens as Alberto tells Olmo that he let Ramiro go, but they are keeping an eye on him. Olmo then tells Alberto that Fausto has to be somewhere and can’t hide forever; when he finds Fausto, Olmo wants to kill him with is own hands. Olmo and Alberto stop walking right before getting to where Vera is hiding and listening. Olmo thanks Alberto for his loyalty. Alberto notes that Olmo is now more calm since he found out that Vera had nothing to do with his kidnapping, but Olmo still is not completely calm …if what Ivana says is true and Vera is having an affair with Pedro, then he won’t forgive that betrayal…even if his daughter will be a widow and he will be a widower! When Alberto asks about the child (Nico), Olmo replies, “A collateral damage! I’m not going to let if touch my heart like when I adopted Pedro.”

FIN!! Until Monday…

RgvChick, your clever title and excellent accompanying quote mirrors our frustration with the storyline, mired in muck, going nowhere. "Still in the closet, Pedro and Vera are kissing passionately when they hear Olmo shouting for her"...said it all!

Your insight was visible throughout, a wonderful recap.

"She then calls Olmo “sweetheart: and kisses him as the reporters capture the pitiful site" and "Vera insists hat she is his wife and wants to learn how to put the leg on…because they are together in good times and bad (her nose grows!)" could not have portrayed these pathetic scenes more perfectly! The bile in my throat arose. Ack.

Olmo smiling and encouraging his motley crew of a family at breakfast was cringe worthy.

"Delia takes Olmo some whiskey, not because he needs a drink, but because she does". No wonder Delia was so shocked. And really, Olmo telling Ramiro to bring Fausto to him? The man was quivering jelly when he was captured and doesn't have the intelligence or the nerve to accomplish such a task.

Pedro and Vera were already prisoners with Ivana watching their every move. Now they will have no peace as Olmo is (rightfully) suspicious. I fear our hopes are pinned on either an adolescent boy or Octavio who already has his hands full trying to keep Julio alive. Not sure if the shot in the arm was on purpose or just bad aim.

Jacinto has a knack for finding prime real estate for his father. I wonder what Fausto will have him do next.

I wonder what Gaston had in mind to tell Laiza? Hey, I am having my child securing my place in the family so you'll be content to stay on the sideline as my mistress, right??

Hoping Teo's abuela will bring a little lightheartedness. Not too much to savor here except of course your excellent recap RgvChick.

Finally Muge knows the truth about Akin...at least partially. Once she allows herself to realize Nare was telling the truth...maybe it will sink in with her that Akin has been using her all these years ...getting info, etc. It will hurt at first but hopefully she gets over it and moves on...finds someone worthy. She is a professional so got to believe she will come around soon.

Sancar is truly a jackass...as someone pointed out before. How insulting to imply that Nare and Akin are lovers..when she's said in no uncertain terms that Akin rated her. When he suggested they were lovers...I kept saying to the TV....hit him... She heard me....and whacked him good. Another blow or 2 from her would have been nice but glad she smacked him good. He's added cruelty to his willful ignorance and anger. Getting harder and harder to route for his character to end up with Nare. Again...even if he doesn't want to confront Akin for what he did....why torture the victim with doubt and accusations about what she lived through.

And why does he keep putting money in Guven's wallet. Guven deserves nothing but a kick in the pants...and a further fall from grace. He too has been cruel and dismissive of Nare. And even if he reveals the truth to Sancar with the video...it's for selfish reasons...because Akin left him high and dry....with no money....not because its the right thing to do by Nare.

Thank you, Diana, your comments are always filled with your intuitive insight and interpretations of the grim and cruddy events. It was painful to watch Vera in her loving act.

Unbelievable how we are having to count on an adolescent to do the job that so many adults have failed at.

Julio was shot in the arm because (IMO and thank goodness!) of poor marksmanship. He is probably going to think that Fausto already found out about the shares, but he hasn't. Fausto thinks that Julio ratted out on him and that is how the cops found him. I hate to think what Fausto will do when he finds out about the shares. Me thinks Julio's days are counted :-(

I wonder who the two people were on the motorcycle that shot at Julio? One was probably Tadeo, as I heard Fausto tell him to take care of the matter, referring to Julio. Was the other Jass, who possibly shot Julio, maybe purposely shooting him in his arm, rather than kill him? Looked like Octavio hit one of them, when the moto fell over. We’ll have to wait until Monday to find out.

Rosa. Steve: I have been watching Rosa for about the last week. Most of the episode have been weird, with an incredible number of coincidences. But last night's, about to very worthwhile young people, one blind (at the beginning) and one afro-hispanic, was very much worth watching, and a great PSA about judging people on their character, not race, external appearance, disabilities.

A few thoughts:

I do confess that I did enjoy Ivana grimacing with her at least bruised ribs after the fall.

Why is Laiza so pressured to make any decision about Gabe after such a short time of going out? She knows she isn’t really in love with him so why not tell him to take a hike and be done with it. On the other hand, she needs to stay away from that loser Gastón. His sperm donation has made him a person permanently non-grata. Something wrong in his noggin, too. Must run in the family.I do not see a happy ending for Laiza.

Diana, great comment about what Gastón might have in mind for Laiza: being his mistress. We are on the same wavelength with that one.

Julio needed to let Lola finish her sandwich. What a pest! LOL

The ending was very depressing now knowing that Nico’s life is also in jeopardy.

When will our reluctant galán lose his “deer in the head lights” look and get his butt in gear so to speak? This role is such a waste of Gabriel Soto’s talent. Hope he got paid well.

Fe, it would make sense that Tadeo and Jacinto were tracking Julio. Now it's just a question as to whether or not they can both get away with Octavio in hot pursuit. I have a feeling if Tadeo was the shooter, Julio would be dead.

Susanlynn, I am very flattered that you thought this fabulous recap was mine but it was RgvChick. I believe Ramiro fled after letting Fausto live, leaving Delia and Laiza behind.

Jarifa, am I hanging my head because I also enjoyed seeing Ivana rub her bruised ribs?? Nopis. Deserved every single pain. And I share your frustration about Gabriel Soto. He has been in several of my top 10 TNs and this unreactive, sad faced character is greatly underutilizing him.

Embajador #29 part 1

Yahya has had enough of Guven complaining about his phone. He goes into the factory looking for Gediz. Gediz asks Sancar, what if the spy was this man, pointing to Yahya. He would never, says Sancar. Yahya didn’t know about the theft. Why not? He has been with us for eight years, maybe he didn’t believe we earned the money in the stock market and realized the truth. Sancar asks, how could Yahya know? Gediz says, he could have realized it. He was always with us. Don’t tell me you would be surprised if it was him. Yahya is puzzled. Sancar can’t believe what he’s hearing.

Ah, did I say something wrong, Gediz asks? When you went to Montenegro to get Melek back, didn’t the police catch you? Who knew? This man knew, he is the spy! Gediz points to Yahya. Sancar shouts back, don’t talk nonsense. This man is not the spy, you know it. He would never do it. Yahya walks out. Sancar is willing to give Gediz his point, okay, Muge is not the spy either. Are you happy now, he asks Gediz, or do you want to hit me again? Gediz has had enough, he calls Sancar crazy and walks out.

Yahya goes back to the office and sits. Guven asks about his phone and Yahya just flips pages in a magazine. Sancar comes in wondering why Yahya left and Guven starts in with him, where’s my daughter? Where’s my phone? Where’s Gediz? Sancar says Gediz left, we can pay you for your phone. And by the way, your daughter is fine. She tricked us. She’s hiding. Sancar smiles at Guven, what a surprise.

Sancar writes Guven a check. For your help, he says. I can’t tell how much it is but Guven is not happy with the amount. Sancar says, I have custody of my daughter not you. Should I support you? Sancar orders Yahya, take Guven to one of their hotels. See that they won’t charge him. I don’t want to see him around here. Yahya hurries out, angry.

Before he leaves, Guven has to ask Sancar one last time, was it you who had me removed from my post? Sancar says, I told you a thousand times I didn’t do it! I would like to remove you from this life! But I didn’t remove you from your post! Guven asks, but you think Akin did it? Sancar thinks it would be better if Guven did not mention that name here, he gets violent when he hears it.

Sancar doesn’t want to see Guven anymore. Guven says Sancar will see him one more time because he has a gift for him. What kind of gift? You’ll see when I give it. Sancar asks, do you know what my gift is for you? For you to go to hell. Sancar points the way out for Guven and he leaves smiling. He says to himself, no, Akin will be the one in hell and you will go to prison for killing him.

Guven goes out to Yahya. Yahya opens the car door for Guven but quickly closes it. He tells Guven he will be right back. Yahya goes to speak with Sancar. That man is waiting for me to open the door for him, Yahya says. I’m nothing more than a driver? I couldn’t even be a spy? What are you talking about, Sancar asks? Even Muge could be a spy, but Yahya never? Am I that useless to you?

This takes Sancar by surprise, I guess he never thought of it from his brother’s point of view. He tells Yahya not to talk like this. Yahya yells, you spoke about me as if I wasn’t present! You gave my stocks but didn’t ask me! You stole from the municipality and did not tell me! Why don’t you take me into account, brother, he asks tearfully? You don’t even think I could be a spy. Sancar is stunned. Yahya storms off. Sancar follows but it is too late, Yahya drives away.

Embajador #29 part 2

A very upset Yahya arrives at the mansion. He sees Halise in the yard. Did Sancar forgive you, he asks? Shhhh, don’t talk here, she says, he didn’t forgive me, but I came because he left the country. I came so everything would be under control while he is away. Ah, yes, because I can’t control anything, Yahya tells her. He informs Halise that Sancar did not go to Barcelona, he’s at the olive grove. Don’t worry mother, the mansion will be under control. He leaves, she follows.

You would think Halise cares about Yahya but nooo…she says if Sancar isn’t gone, he will kick me out again. [we hope so] We have to do something, Yahya. I can’t enter the mansion like a fugitive. What should I do, he asks, go tell my brother to forgive you? And if I do? Would he listen to me? Halise continues, what will I do?

Elvan is walking up on them and listens. It wasn’t enough I was kicked out of the mansion, Halise says, if Necdet speaks in court, I will be disgraced in front of the whole world. I couldn’t go out, I wouldn’t see anyone again. If Sancar had his way, she says, I’d be in prison. [sounds good to me]

Elvan pipes up, are you afraid, suegra? I will bring you clothes. Elvan mocks, I’m sure you will be the leader in the cell. Elvan sweeps her arm and sounds like an announcer: she will go from lady to being a leader. Don’t miss the next movie. Halise does not appreciate Elvan’s sense of humor but we do! Halise asks, don’t you have something to do in the kitchen? Elvan leaves with a smile.

Sancar is working in the grove. Zehra comes in. She is surprised to see him, she thought he left. What happened to your face, she asks? Nothing. Where were you, he asks. Don’t get angry she says. I came from the lawyers. She was worried what would happen to their mother if Necdet speaks in court.

Sancar isn’t worried, he smiles. Nothing will happen. Necdet doesn’t have witnesses to prove our mom hired him, he tells her. Zehra is pleased she says, you asked, too? I couldn’t send our mother to prison. But don’t tell her. Let her worry until the trial. Zehra gives her brother a hug of approval.

Zehra has some news for him but he can’t let anyone know it came from her. Mom is at home. Sancar sighs, Zehra, if I don’t lose my mind today, I never will.

Necdet calls Menekse. Why don’t you come to visit? Why should I? Elvan is in listening position, doing her thing, spying. Menekse says, she has too many problems, besides fixing things with her husband. Necdet says thanks to him, your husband thinks you defended Nare. I didn’t tell him everything. Menekse thinks back to telling Necdet to go ahead with Halise’s plan. Don’t threaten me she tells Necdet, Sancar trusts me again. Whatever you say now, he won’t believe. Are you sure about that Menekse? I could make him believe. Elvan is getting an earful!

Loki grabs the phone from Necdet! How are you princess? Menekse gasps. Are you okay, Loki asks. Did you send salawat (prayers) here? She’s choking for air. I want to see you tomorrow, he says, say salawat in front of me. If you want, I can call Sancar, too. And when I get out, I will visit your grave. Menekse manages a very weak…enough... You provoked me, Loki is hurt, he says. Who will take care of you (kill you)? Will it be Loki or Sancar? He hangs up. Menekse slides to the ground.

Elvan comes from her hiding place and asks Menekse, what did Sancar believe? Huh? You said that Sancar believed you. Did your husband think you are innocent? Will it turn out you are bad? Menekse gets up. Don’t spy on me, Elvan. You will be the one to lose. Halise is listening in on this conversation now.

Embajador #29 part 3

How will I lose, explain, Elvan asks. Sancar will give me whatever I ask for defending that woman, Menekse says. I can ask him to kick you out of the house, so you never come back. Elvan laughs in Menekse’s face. Do you expect me to believe is this same man who went to Spain for his beloved woman? Do you think you have the power to get me out of here, Elvan says.

Halise shouts, Elvan! She walks over. Sancar is not in Barcelona. If you humiliate Menekse again with what happened with that slut, I’ll kill you myself! What if Yahya left you for another woman and has children with her? What if we humiliate you, Elvan? Halise glares, Menekse smirks, Elvan retreats.

Halise wipes that smirk off of Menekse’s face real quick. Pay attention, if you threaten to kick a person out of my house again, you will be the first to leave! But… shut up, shouts Halise. Now tell me, why did you protect that woman? How did you protect this woman? I did not protect her. I did it to protect you. I gave my bracelet to my brother so he would not tell Sancar. So he wouldn’t get angry with you.

Who do you think you are, Menekse? Who are you to protect me, asks the woman whose son threw her out of the mansion. Halise moves in real close and says, until the day I die, I will be the lady of this house! Elvan and you will know your place, she hisses.

Yahya visits Necdet in prison. Necdet is not too happy to see Yahya. If you beat me here, Necdet says, they will lock you up. Yahya says he won’t, his brother already took care of that. Yahya has a deal for Necdet. Listen carefully. Yahya can get him out of prison.

Yahya starts, the men who attacked the ambassador’s daughter will change their testimony. They will say you were not the one who hired them. They made you a part of it because you owed them money. They decided to attack Nare and blame you. You had no idea what they were going to do. Yahya says because you are Menekse’s brother, you would want to harm Nare. That’s the motive and they used it to blame you.

Will they say so in court? Yes, Yahya says, before I came here, I spoke with Hilmi. The guys will earn good money so they will testify it wasn’t your fault. They will let you go. Necdet is grateful; he kisses Yahya’s hand multiple times and Yahya wipes it off. He tells Necdet he’s not doing it for him, but for his mother. But if Necdet talks, he will beat him so hard he will beg to be let back into prison. This conversation will remain between us. It’s a deal.

Sancar arrives at the mansion with Zehra. He’s ready for a fight. He shouts, mother! He stands in front of her and she touches his face, what happened to you? Doesn’t matter. I told you I didn’t want to see you. Is it necessary to send you to prison instead of the hotel?

Yes, send me to prison, she says. While you went abroad for a thief who stole money from us, I came so the house wouldn’t be unattended. Don’t talk if you don’t know, Sancar says, she did not steal. How could you be sure? Both your granddaughter and her mother are here. Halise gasps. Menekse is disappointed. So, that’s why you didn’t go, Elvan says.

Embajador #29 part 4

Sancar warns them about starting rumors. He tells them he made and agreement with the ambassador’s daughter. I will get her a house. She will live there with my daughter and I will see her on the weekends. Halise is horrified, our reputation will be ruined! Everyone will say that woman is your lover. Wrong thing to say, Halise.

Sancar raises his voice, first you order her kidnapped and now you call her my lover? She is the mother of my daughter! I will never touch her but I would do anything for her! Do me a favor, Sancar says, get out of my house before I kick you out. I never want to see you again and I don’t want you to come back. Elvan and Gulsiye go back to the kitchen. Halise fights back tears and Menekse has her usual stupid worried look.

Nare, Melek and Kavruk are looking at houses online. Nare gets a video call from Isabel. Nare tells Melek to make a list of what she wants for the house. Nare steps outside to take the call. Isabel tells her Akin called her and they are going to meet. Nare is relieved to hear this. Isabel says, he asked me to bring your phone. Nare says, he wants to see if there’s anything on it that will help him find me. There’s nothing important on there. Then I will give him the phone Isabel says.

Nare calls Muge’s office to make an appointment to see her. She says its urgent as she’s having panic attacks. They fit her in. Nare says she’s not comfortable giving her name, but she will wait outside.

Nare asks to borrow Kavruk’s car. She asks Melek, have you made a list of what you want in a house? She drew pics. A house with a garden...possible. A house with a horse. Hmm..that’s not possible for us, Nare says. A house with dad. Melek smiles and nods. Nare says, Melek, listen, we will live just you and me together. Can’t dad be with us sometimes? Can he stay for a few days? No he can’t. He will live in his house and we will live in ours. Nare asks Kavruk to step outside. Melek looks at the pic she drew of her family together with the house.

Nare tells Kavruk, if Sancar comes don’t let him take Melek. Kavruk says if this is because of Halise, don’t worry. Sancar threw her out of the house. What? Why? What do you think, Kavruk says. He threw her out because of me, Nare asks, because she was the one who sent those men? Kavruk doesn’t understand why Nare is surprised at this. He tells her, even though you are separated, you will always be his Nare and he will make those who hurt you pay.

I’m not his Nare, she replies, and he is nothing more than my daughter’s father. But he threw his own mother out of the house to defend you, Kavruk says. Nare says she does the same with her father, so what? Knowing how to behave is not inherent in being a parent. His mother sent men to kidnap someone, that’s enough reason to treat her like that.

Speaking of crappy parents, Guven shows up at Sadiclar. He’s looking for Gediz. He has my telephone, he says. Dudu asks Deniz to call him.

Meanwhile, Gediz has gone to his quiet place. Gediz doesn’t take Deniz’ call. He looks out over the water.

Guven is ticked that Gediz can’t be reached. This is an emergency! He demands, I need you to contact Mr. Gediz! Dudu is offended by Guven’s awful behavior and throws him out.

Outside Sadiclar Guven says, I’m going to get my phone back sooner or later, Akin. Better start digging your grave.

Akin listens to Guven’s voice message with the threat and he laughs. Please Guven…. Akin listens to his other messages. They are all from Muge. Where are you? Why is your phone off? Blah, blah, blah. Akin makes exasperated faces.

Embajador #29 part 5

Isabel shows up to meet Akin. She gives him the phone. Did you see the woman who left the phone, he asks? Yes, thinks she was with a little girl. She’s not sure if they left it or another person. Akin thanks her and they part ways. Akin opens the phone and reads the text she sent to him. Akin says, you don’t know my favorite game, you never give up.

Muge is still desperately trying to reach Akin. She’s besides herself with worry. Nare enters her office. I thought you were in Barcelona, Muge says. I’m here to finish our conversation. [piano chord of impending doom] Muge remembers the conversation. Please sit. She’s listening. Nare needs water her hands are shaking.

Nare begins, you know I would never lie to you. Muge tells her she doesn’t know who she has seen before coming to her, but she understands it is a fear of rape victims that they won’t be believed. Nare says that’s right, no one wants to believe it is true. Muge assures her, I believe you and I always will. I’m listening, Nare.

It happened when I turned 18. We were in India. My father threw my engagement ring away and I went up to my room crying. Muge asks if it was one of the people at the party. Nare nods yes and says she was so young and naïve. Maybe there were signs, but she couldn’t see it. Now she realizes how good he was at acting.

And you knew him? Yes, she did. It’s common, Muge says. It surprises you coming from someone you never expect, Nare says, you don’t think it could happen. Nare pauses here for a moment before she drops the bomb...someone I lived with for many years. Muge’s face changes from sympathetic to horrified listener.

Muge shakes her head, no, no, please don’t tell me this. Nare continues, I thought I could count on him. Muge tells her she can’t hear more of what happened. Nare doesn’t stop—when he locked the door, I understood his intention. I started screaming but no one could hear me because of party noise.

I thought it was my fault. I started to blame myself for what he had done to me. I thought if I didn’t ask for a party, my father would have heard my screams. If I hadn’t asked for a party, he wouldn’t have abused me.

Ya basta, Shut up! That’s enough, Muge shouts! Nare is stunned. Muge accuses her, Nare, why are you lying to me? You told me you would always believe me, Nare says. I don’t believe you, Muge tells her, I don’t believe you anymore. I can’t do it, Nare.

Muge goes out in the hall and breaks down.

And we are out!

Susanlynn, Sancar’s not really a mystery to me. He’s been indoctrinated into the culture. This doesn’t mean I like seeing him treat Nare badly, but I like it when it is directed at the bad guys. Question: Can he change? For his daughter? For Nare? Maybe Sancar is slowly learning, he gave into Nare, even if it’s because he doesn’t want to lose Melek.

Rgv Chick, I think poor Nare made a slight miscalculation in her plan. She was only hiding long enough to send Akin away. And she didn’t account for the tracking app. And it is strange that Gediz and Sancar didn’t know about it. It was a fluke they found out. Yahya only knew because Elvan tracks him! The husband’s nightmare…lol

IMHO, Nare took the fall for the money for the same reason Sancar backed off from accusing Muge. They don’t want to hurt Gediz (or Muge). Unfortunately, there’s no way to avoid it.

“How insulting to imply that Nare and Akin are lovers”: Yes! Nare and Sancar both know it’s Muge. Nett, I had the feeling he might have said it partly for her to confirm Muge or reveal whatever else. It was very callous. Loved that slap!

“This ball of yarn of messy love that is nare n sancar.” Great Nina! And when you wind a little bit of Gediz around it….look out!

Dondi, thanks for another excellent recap that cleared everything up for me.

Nare and Sancar certainly got saddled with bad parents. Hellise wants to be large and in charge , and Sancar has to repeatedly throw her out of the house. However, she is tenacious,and returns like a boomerang . It's funny to watch her struggle to keep her position as lady of tbe house as Meanie tries to take over the minute she leaves ... Again. Sancar has his hands full dealing with the women in his life...with the exception of his sweet sister.

Poor Melek just wnts to live with both of her beloved parents, Poor little thing.

Muge doesnt want to believe the awful truth . Now what?

I can see that Yaya is feeling over looked and taken for granted...especially having to drive Guven around....or consulted on major issues..he has a valid point. But didn't make sense he's upset because Sancar defended him being accused of a spy. That was a good thing that Sancar spoke up for him but he's bent out of shape about that. I get he's annoyed at everything he feels is over looking him. Hope he keeps his cool and doesn't go to the dardk side because of this.

I'm back to being confused about Melek's custody...does Sancar actually have custody....I thought he got that...not just the passport but there's been some confusing conversation about this.

It was nice to see Sancar kick Halise out of the house...twice. She deserves it. Unfortunately...looks like that will be short lived. Was hoping somehow both she and Meneske get the boot.

I don’t think I’ve seen Gabriel Soto in a previous novela and after seeing him in this one, I’ll stay away from any novelas with him in them. Honestly, I don’t think It’s the role. All the other actors from Julio, Alberto, Lola, Octavio, Eddy, Fabi, Olmo, Fausto, Vera; etc. are excellent. Gabriel/Pedro is one dimensional.., awful.

Susanlynn, Diana already responded but let me just confirm that Ramiro did disappear after he shot Fausto that night that Tomas (Perdro’s father) was killed. He probably went into hiding because he knew that Olmo would probably kill him for not killing Faust and he is also scared of Fausto. Having one of those demons is enough to make a man want to disappear…can you imagine having them both after you? Ay! Caray!

Why doesn’t someone just give Guven the darned phone! Ughhh! Frustrating to have to wait for Sancar to see what an idiot he has been for not believing Nare. And yeah, he is afraid that he would kill Akin, but he sure didn’t hesitate to kill his relationship with Nare.

Nare should have expected Muje to react the way she did. But from the look on Muje’s face at the end, it seems that she is having mucho doubts about this monster she has been futilely waiting for.

And Nina, I too thought for a second that Akin figured out what Nare did. But I also had figured that he would do it sooner or later. Nare shouldn’t expect him to stay away forever.

Really feel bad for Yahya, overshadowed by his older brother and overlooked by everyone. He’s on the payroll at Sadiclar, but they don’t give him anything important to do. Kinda hangs around waiting to drive someone, etc. How desperate, he even wished his brother would consider he was capable enough of being a spy.

Nett, I wish I could remember more about Melek’s custody status at this point. I agree that the edits and translations are confusing. If I have time, I might go back to the original to clarify. I don’t want to get into spoiler territory here.

Rgv Chick, Sancar’s got first dibs on Akin! Gediz could do damage, for sure, but Akin deserves a special delivery anvil from Sancar.

Uni is editing stuff and the translations lose the cultural richness of the original Turkish. The Menekse/Loki and Elvan/Menekse conversations had much more impact in the original.

Loki is a loose cannon and very entertaining character!
