SI NOS DEJAN #37 Part 1
The accent marks are not working this morning.
Recapper running commentary in parentheses.
Anyway back to the action . . .
Still seated at the breakfast table, Alicia is silent as everyone reacts with shock and disgust to her relationship with Martin. Miranda wants to throw up. Eva cannot take looking at this garbage. (I am surprised the old girl didn't faint) Yuri tries to find out who this man is. Sergio tells her that Martin is a rather mediocre journalist who works on his show. Sergio asks if Alicia know how painful it is for him to find out that his wife, the mother of his children, the woman with whom he has shared all of his life could end up in something like THIS! What a disappointment! Alicia will not back down and starts in with telling Sergio how shameless and miserable he ishe is. He cannot understand how she could say that to HIM? Alicia let's him have it. He has been with his lover for THREE years. Sergio asks, like the dolt he is, if that ia he problem. (Maybe he is having dementia problems) Alicia answers "Of course!" and asks if he remembers that they are in the middle of getting a divorce. She has every right to have any relationship that she feels like and be with any man she feels like. Even more incensed Sergio informs her that she can't because she still has his last name which is the name his children. (Is this the 19th Century?) Alicia decides to solve tha problem. (Alicia goes for broke!!) She takes off her wedding rings and returns them to him along with his name. She hadn't realized how that Carranza name had held her back. That takes the wind out of Sergio's sails and and everyone else's at the table but Alicia is suddenly smiling. (I get the feeling that everyone's appetite is gone.)
Cholo lucks out. The policemen doesn't recognize him and is telling him to move on because he cannot be sleeping in a residential district. (Run Cholo, run before your luck runs out!) The officer also advises him to take bath because he STINKS.
Mujica is leaning on Karina and her partner to find Cholo who he is sure planned the escape. The streets need to be covered with his photo. He wants results if they want to keep their jobs. They leave and Mujica sys on the edge of his desk stroking a plaster cast of a skull (Is this about to get kinky or what?) His communion with the skull is interrupted by Facundo.
Alicia gets up from the table and tells Sergio that since he has now caused all of the damage he wants to do, he needs to get out. She needs to talk to her children. He jumps to his feet incensed. he wants to know how many times was he with her. He then uses it farther by asking how many Martin Guerr's have there been in their thirty years of marriage. She slaps him and he grabs her wrist. (Maybe we should ask how many times has he grabbed Alicia like that or worse in those thirty years) Gonzo jumps up and warns Sergio about what he is saying to his mother. Sergio contemptuously removes his hand and threatens her. If she doesn't give up Martin, he will take custody of Miranda. (Let him take her. it will only be for a couple years and he will have his hands full) Then they will see who she loves more: her kids or her lover. Alicia points the way to the door and orders him out. Sergio apologizes to his daughters. He will the talking to Gonzalo. He apologizes to Eva who says that HE is not the oe who should be apologizing. That pushes Alicia one the edge and she screams for him to get out. Very quietly, Sergio reminds her that it is HIS house that he paid for with HIS labor. (Guess that keeping that house and popping out three kids counts for nothing).He finally leaves.

DEJAN Part 2
Fedora is telling her sad (BOO HOO) tale of breaking up with her young lover. Even though the sex was spectacular, Fedora says she felt such a sense of relief because the guilt would never have given her any peace. As she transitions to Samuel being the bigger problem, Fedora notices that Carlota's mind is somewhere else. Carlota says it has been a hard day and tries to get the appointment back on track.
As Mujica (YUK( is sipping on a glass of whisky in his office, he tells Facundo that since he doesn't work there any more, he cannot give him any details about the evidence they have against Cholo. He will have to trust him in the investigation. Facundo says that is the problem, he doesn't trust him. Condemning Cholo has serious consequences for him. The real killer of his son is still free out there on the streets. Mujica thinks that Facundo must have gone back to being an alcoholic because he isn't thinking clearly. Facundo disagrees.. Mujica advises him to take his advice, for old times sake, and let him handle it.
Back at Alicia's, she is trying to talk to her children. Yuri is sure that Martin is making aa fool out of Alicia because of her age. (Yuri proves again she isn't too smart) Alicia asks if Yuri is assuming that nobody will find her attractive. Miranda (What a bitch!) says it would be okay if it were an old guy like her but not with this one. It is disgusting. Wouldn't she be embarrassed? A tearful Alicia says she would but she is more embarrassed because her own children only see her as a self-sacrificing house wife; a slave to them in THEIR routines and lives. Yuri rolls her eyes. Alicia asks In the meantime, what is she supposed to do?
Lock herself up in a closet? She is a woman and a person. Isn't she a human being? Yuri has to agree with that (DUH!) and with her wanting to start a new life but cannot get over Martin being so young. Alicia says it is hard for them and her. She didn't go out looking for anything but it happened. Gonzo makes it clear that Alicia can count on him. Alica can only tell them that her experience with Martin has been nice, healthy and respectful;l. She tells them they they have no idea how many years she hasn't felt alive. Do they know how important it is to really matter to somebody? She spent so much time feeling like a pice of furniture. Miranda jumps up and says she cannot take listening to anymore nasty things about Martin or her father. She leaves. Yuri gets up and says that she doesn't know her mother anymore. She leaves. Gonzo has to go but with talk to his "mama" later that night. Alicia is left in tears with Eva who picks up her wedding rings and commands her o put them back on because they are going to talk. When Alicia doesn't respond, Eva slams the rings back down on the table.

Julieta brings her friend up to date on her situation with Sergio. He went to his house to tell his kids everything about their mother. There will be no reconciliation.
As he is being driven to work, Sergio can not take his eyes off of the photos of Alicia and Martin. He tells Emiliano it is one of the worst days of his life. (You think?)
Eva feels a need to share her "wisdom" with Alicia (Can't anyone shut Eva up?) Although Alicia needs to talk to Miranda, Eva insists that she has to talk to herfirsyt (Why didn't Aliciajust get up and go???) Eva says if she wanted to entertain herself with a boy, whey didn't she do her best to hide it. Alicia explains that Martin is a man. Eva tells her that she committed the stupidity of asking for a divorced being her very dignified self, and now this comes out. Does Alicia want to lose everything in her life? (Eva sure doesn't want to lose those gambling$$$$) Alicia says of course, she doesn't. Eva says that before her only role was that of the self-sacrificing mother, above reproach that cold evoke the pity of all of Mexico. Was that so har? Alicia asks "what all the pity of Mexico" would do for her. Eva reminds her of her reputation. What will she do when the boy she is sleeping with starts to talk. Alicia tells her she is not sleeping with Martin. Eva has no idea what word Alicia is living in but that boy is using her. (Also his bank book isn't as big as Serio's for those gambling$$$) Alicia needs to go but before she does Eva has to inform her that a woman of her age doesn't have a sex life anymore.(Kill me now!) The only iife she has is through her family and her children. (Eva should have ended it a looong time ago and done everyone a favor) As she goes on about Alicia smooching on the street, Alica has had enough of her humiliating her. Eva is sure that that boy doesn't want Alicia but is interested in her money, her last name, to make himself famous at Sergio's expense. Eva tells her the next time she kisses Martin to remember that young men like young women not women the same age as their mothers.
An exuberant Martin arrives at work. He tells Diablo he wants to do a follow-up report on criminal impunity now that Cholo has escaped. Diablo tells him write up a proposal and they can take it to Sergio. Diablo notices his good mood. Martin states that nobody or nothing are going to spoil his day. When Diablo asks if the good mood has to do with Alicia, Martin conveniently sidesteps giving an answer.
Nicole is slipping another girl a bag of weed (?) in the hallway. (How stupid! They should have done this in the bathroom) The other girl doesn't seem happy about what Nicole is asking her to do but she owes her.

Jarifa, thank you for every detail of that episode that was so painful and frustrating to watch . Yikes and ouch.
Sergio in true narcissist fashion projects all his evil onto Alicia, and the family , with the exception of Gonzo, immediately believe the lying , delusional weasel and pounce on Alicia . I am so glad that she stood up for herself . Everybody wants Alicia to just be a good little wife and forgive and forget everything that Serg has done . The worst is Evaddict who is only interested in keeping Sergs money to support her gambling . Disgusting .
This show seems to be one , long PSA about men controlling women and age differences .
I've had enough of Ferdora's squeaky , baby voice going on and on about her young lovers . Yawn.
Mujica did it. A very disgusting guy. YUck. Cholo needs to get to Facundo and talk to him .

DEJAN Part 4
Miranda confronts Nicole about her calling her a drug user and a physical fight ensues. The other girl plants the pot in Miranda's back pack as the other students cheer the fighters on. Culebra breaks them up.
Gonzo is at work and calls Lorena to tells her he loves her again, he misses her even if she isn't returning anyone his calls. He knows he did the wrong thing. he wants to be a better man because of her. He is very sorry. He is asking for just a chance. He needs her. Lorena listens to the message.
The principal takes both girls to her office the students cheer a jubilant victoriouss Nicole on. (Wss the principal deaf and blind that she didn't notice that?)
Yuri goes to see her mother wondering if her new relationship was why Alicia wanted to go running with her in the morning and went to the beauty salon. Was it to look even more spectacular than she looks for her novio? Alicia thinks they have had enough discussion for one day. Yuri admits that she thinks that Alicia has the right to do do what she is doing. She wishes she could be happy for her mother but she thinks that her mother is being ridiculous. How much younger is Martin that she? 15? 16 years? Alicia says they didn't crucify their father when he took up with a younger woman(So, WHO cares?) Yuri informs her that It doesn't work the other way around and she is HER mother. Society has no problem with older men and younger women. Alicia cannot believe Yuri saying this since she is always talking about and defending women's rights but she is condemning her. (Good point, Alicia) Hypocrite Yuri says it is because Alicia is her mother. It isn't like it is two years after the divorce and Alicia has found somebody her own age. (TOO inconvenient for Yuri?) Alicia tells Yuri she isn't dealing with reality because mothers also have a life and life can surprise you sometimes.
Diablo presents an article by Martin that they can use to Sergio. Sergio tells him they aren't using it. He asks Diablo if he really didn't know anything. Diablo asks about what??? (He plays stupid very well) Sergio uses the photos to show him why they are not using the article by Martin. Sergio asks him again if he really didn't know anything. Sergio wants to talk to Martin right now. Diablo calls him from Sergio's office. Martin can't make it right now (What do people not understand about "RIGHT NOW"??) Diablo says he doesn't have a choice. Martin wonders what is up because Diablo sounds weird.

Alicia tells Yuri that she never went looking for a man to reaffirm her as a woman. Martin just happened and he is a gift she is grateful for. Due to him she feels like laughing, living and doing new things even at her very advanced age. Yuri has to smile when she hears all of that and thinks that Alicia must be crazy for him.Alicia knows it must be hard for her kids to understand but it happened to her and it is something beautiful. Alicia says when Yuri falls in love someday she will be able to say "Wow! was my mom right!" (Looks like Yuri knows exactly how she feels!!!) Yuri asks if that means that Alicia is in love with Martin. Alicia doesn't want to put a label on it necessarily but she sure wants to live it and not be deterred by what her kids say because it might be the only perk she gets for being 50. Yuri doesn't know what to say because Alicia isn't like she was. They happily hug. Yuri goes a call and leaves the room.
The call is from Cholo. he is calling her from the Minister Public.They didn't catch him. He is planning on turning himself in voluntarily. Yuri thinks that is the best idea. He might get some breaks for cooperating even after an escape. He tells her that he never planned the escape. She says they will have to prove he si innocent. Cholo says maybe that will come later because Santo told him that they wanted to kill him on then inside. That upsets Yuri as she asks How? and Who? She suggests they wait a bit before he turns himself in. A resigned Cholo says no. He has had enough hiding all over the city. He only wanted to thank her for giving him a little bit of hope. He dreamed about a future that he no longer has; but she does. He wishes her the best always with her novio. Yuri tells him she isn't getting married. She canceled the wedding. Alicia calls Martin but he is unable to answer her since he is on his way to Sergio's office. Matin arrives and after seeing the expressions on Sergio's and Diablo's faces, he asks who died? Diablo leaves. Sergio asks Martin if he has already had sex with his "woman". Martin plays dumb and says he would never ever try anything with Julieta. Sergio says he knows exactly whom he is talking about. he throws ANOTER envelope fo PHOTOS at him. Martin looks at them as Sergio approaches him to get a better look ay his reaction. Martin suddenly looks serious. Sergio asks if Martin is done joking.
Alicia tells Yuri that she never went looking for a man to reaffirm her as a woman. Martin just happened and he is a gift she is grateful for. Due to him she feels like laughing, living and doing new things even at her very advanced age. Yuri has to smile when she hears all of that and thinks that Alicia must be crazy for him.Alicia knows it must be hard for her kids to understand but it happened to her and it is something beautiful. Alicia says when Yuri falls in love someday she will be able to say "Wow! was my mom right!" (Looks like Yuri knows exactly how she feels!!!) Yuri asks if that means that Alicia is in love with Martin. Alicia doesn't want to put a label on it necessarily but she sure wants to live it and not be deterred by what her kids say because it might be the only perk she gets for being 50. Yuri doesn't know what to say because Alicia isn't like she was. They happily hug. Yuri goes a call and leaves the room.
The call is from Cholo. he is calling her from the Minister Public.They didn't catch him. He is planning on turning himself in voluntarily. Yuri thinks that is the best idea. He might get some breaks for cooperating even after an escape. He tells her that he never planned the escape. She says they will have to prove he si innocent. Cholo says maybe that will come later because Santo told him that they wanted to kill him on then inside. That upsets Yuri as she asks How? and Who? She suggests they wait a bit before he turns himself in. A resigned Cholo says no. He has had enough hiding all over the city. He only wanted to thank her for giving him a little bit of hope. He dreamed about a future that he no longer has; but she does. He wishes her the best always with her novio. Yuri tells him she isn't getting married. She canceled the wedding. Martin get angry and tells Sergio he is shameless in asking him those questions. Sergio thinks that Martin address shame being the opportunist that he is. Does Martin want to take advantage of Alicia after the divorce, money or is he looking to hurt him (Sergio)? Martin calls him an egotist with a bruised ego who doesn't have any respect for his ex wife. Sergio fires him on the spot and to GET OUT. (Makes me think of Seinfeld) As Fabian comes in to ask them to tone it down, Martin tells Sergio that Alicia is too much woman for him to handle. (That was a very nice LOW BLOW) Sergio tells Fabian that neither he or Tamayo can make him take Martin back. Martin tells Fabian that he would like to say it was a pleasure working at this network but that would be a lie. He adds you cannot respect the name of Sergio's show. After he leaves, Fabian asks Sergio what is going on ???

TU AMOR. Wow! So Rocio has betrayed Helena. I didn't see that coming!--especially since Helena has been so good to all her workers, even keeping them on through financial hardship. Once again Val doesn't consult Claudio, even though he's a good lawyer and accountant. He could no doubt prove that Nora didn't know what she was signing, and if he's a forensic accountant, could probably prove that Enrique was the embezzler. I wonder if that is why the writers had Claudio be both a lawyer and an accountant. And why would Val take Patricia's word about anything legal? I thought the priest's advice to Val was terrible. BTW, I saw a History Channel documentary about how David Sarnov stole Philo Farnsworth's invention of the television and almost destroyed his life. I have to say, it made me think of Yolanda Pratas. :)
TU AMOR. Of course, the person Val should have consulted about her situation is Majo, not that priest. Majo is much more sensible. And ironically, Val decides she has to say yes to Ricardo jus as he is finally getting over her and starting to respond to Camila. I suspect all this might turn out to be moot is Val is arrested for Ricardo's embezzlement/tax evasion.

Martin thinks that he and Julieta could form their own club with Sergio being so many years older than she. Suddenly Julieta isn't so interested in clubs. They are against her religion. She has the name of a psychiatrist who is an expert on the Oedipus complex. Martin suggests she might need to be treated for the Elektra complex. Julieta thinks there is no need for treatment when you find the perfect man. He congratulates her and thanks her for her efforts in destroying Sergio's marriage because now he and Alicia can have their love story. (LOVED that interaction!)
Julieta breezes into Sergio's office and just has to tell him and Fabian everything Martin told her about being in love with Alicia, etc. Sergio is in no mood to hear it. Sergio tells her to shut up. Julieta tells him he is not to talk to her like that. Fabian tries to calm them down. Fabian thinks it is best to keep this information to themselves and out of the media since it doesn't do Sergio any favors. Julieta thinks they should filter and release the information themselves. He who releases it first will have the greatest impact.Serio agrees as long as he has total control.
Martin's last stop (?) is at his work station where he tells a fellow worker that he has been let go. He needs five minutes alone to clear out his things and to make a call. He calls Alicia. They fill each other in on what happened. She feels responsible for his firing. Martin think it all worked out well because now he and Alicia won't have to sneak around to see each other. She doesn't think it can be as easy as it seems but she has to cut the call short. She needs to go to Miranda's school. She tells him why.
The principal meets with Alicia with the "proof" as she requested. Miranda blames that psychopath Nicole but of course nobody listens to her. Miranda tells her mother that she has never taken drugs. Alicia says she is trying to believe her. (WRONG ANSWER, Alicia) She then says they will get to the bottom of it all because she will always be with her on her side. (RIGHT ANSWER) Miranda smiles and asks her if she is serious. The principal says ignoring the problem is no way to help Miranda and addresses Alicia as Mrs. Carranza. Alicia informs her that from now she is Mrs. Montiel (her maiden name) . She will take care of her daughter. Sergio barges in also having been called. He, of course, blames Alicia for being involved in other . . . Then he turns on Miranda telling her how very serious this is and how disappointed he is in her. Miranda tries to explain but he shuts her up. The principal has already met with the executive board of the school. They have all agreed that this matter be referred to the police. As the nerve jumps in his cheek, Sergio shakes his head.

The confrontation scene at breakfast was heartbreaking. Alicia kept her composure fairly well I thought. However, why did none of her children run to her, to support, to comfort? I would have been out of my seat like a shot! Even Gonzalo disappointed. Proof that they are indeed Sergio’s children.
This bears repeating in its entirety: “Alicia decides to solve that problem. (Alicia goes for broke!!) She takes off her wedding rings and returns them to him along with his name. She hadn't realized how that Carranza name had held her back. That takes the wind out of Sergio's sails and everyone else's at the table but Alicia is suddenly smiling. Diana, glad you enjoyed the recap. It was a fun episode to cover. I was also so disappointed in the reaction of “Sergio's children” as you so aptly described them. I did like that they took the time to go into some depth about the dichotomy of Yuri’s feelings in regards to women’s rights and her mother. “A charming but yet to grow up Peter Pan” who “drifts aimlessly” is an excellent description of Martin. I wonder how many jobs he has had. For me he is still the goofy galán. I wonder how Mexican audiences will see him. This has not been shown in Mexico yet. We got the premiere. ITA that Cholo’s greatest hope just might be Facundo. His spidey sense in reference to that creep Mujica has not failed him. I loved Alicia telling the principal to call her Mrs. Montiel. Looks like Sergio’s name is going the same way as the wedding rings.
Urban, good point about how the possibility of any police connection via Miranda and drug use is not going to serve Sergio well. I wish we had some info about Nicole. Diana, glad you enjoyed the recap. It was a fun episode to cover. I was also so disappointed in the reaction of “Sergio's children” as you so aptly described them. I did like that they took the time to go into some depth about the dichotomy of Yuri’s feelings in regards to women’s rights and her mother. “A charming but yet to grow up Peter Pan” who “drifts aimlessly” is an excellent description of Martin. I wonder how many jobs he has had. For me he is still the goofy galán. I wonder how Mexican audiences will see him. This has not been shown in Mexico yet. We got the premiere. ITA that Cholo’s greatest hope just might be Facundo. His spidey sense in reference to that creep Mujica has not failed him. I loved Alicia telling the principal to call her Mrs. Montiel. Looks like Sergio’s name is going the same way as the wedding rings.
Urban, good point about how the possibility of any police connection via Miranda and drug use is not going to serve Sergio well. I wish we had some info about Nicole. With reverance for mothers , NO matter had bad, I don't think Eva is going to get slapped by anyone . I was afraid that when Alicia didn't take back those rongs, Eva might Nick them for some gambling money . She is a horrible person .

They cut a couple of scenes right off the bat. Nare asks Sahra if she will check Sancar’s leg because it has been bothering him. He tries to get out of it and says he is fine. But they won’t let him out of it. Before he goes with Sahra, he tells Nare, even though you are angry, you still care about me. He gives her his patented gaze and smiles, so I’m ready to die for you.
Gediz shows up at the olive grove office and sadly reminisces about his partnership with Sancar.
Nare goes upstairs to check on Sancar and Sahra. Sahra says he has a pinched nerve, and she gave him a shot. It’s temporary and he should have an MRI. Nare says ok, we will go get one. Sancar looks at her. He likes that she said “We”. Nare notices and changes her words telling him, “You” will go. [Anyway, we won’t have to watch him limp around anymore.]
Sancar gets the call from Gediz to meet him at the olive grove.
Sancar tells everyone he’s leaving. He looks at Nare and says, but I'll see you all-- at henna night, right? Elvan asks where he is going. The office and then to the mansion. Elvan asks if she can go with him if it’s not too much trouble. She’s worried Halise will be angry if she arrives late like just any guest. Sancar tells her, I can't take you, but I'll get a taxi for you. Elvan says she would rather enter the mansion with him. He understands and tells her ok, come with me.
Nare asks, what are you going to do in the office? Sancar replies, Gediz brought the documents to transfer his shares. Melek asks Sancar, can I go too? Of course, my love, come on let's go. Melek tells him on her way out, I want to help with the preparations.
Which leaves only a very uncomfortable goodbye between Nare and Sancar. She walks him out to the front gate in silence. He suddenly turns back and hugs her tight, taking her by surprise. Don't give up, he asks, please, Nare. There’s a lot of emotion simmering under the surface there. Sancar’s desperate hope and Nare’s conflicted thoughts.
And here comes Sahra. She asks Nare, where can I find a man who does not want to leave and comes back to hug me? Nare brushes it off and asks Sahra if she wants breakfast. Sahra quips, don’t brides lose their appetites? Pause for evil Sahra smile here. They go into the kitchen and Nare pours some juice.
Sahra starts, Nare ... I must tell you something, but I don't know how you will take it. Sancar called me last night. He wanted a doctor for Menekse. I couldn't say no to him, and I went. She apologizes to Nare, I shouldn't have gone to Sancar’s ex-wife. Nare says no apology necessary. There was a crisis at the home, right? Sahra asks, was that what Sancar told you? Nare says he didn't tell me that you went, but that Feride invaded that house.
Sahra confirms this and adds, I only checked Menekse and with that she calmed down. She was very insistent. She is cute but very difficult. Nare asks, what about the baby? Sahra piles it on a plate and feeds Nare’s jealousy, oh, you should have seen it. What a miracle. She smiles, I am not a gynecologist and it’s not something I see often, but he's going to be a very strong baby. Nare says, yes, I know. Babies are a miracle.
Sahra spreads the poison--Sancar was very excited. He insisted on seeing a picture of his son and admired it for a long time. Nare… Sancar will be the best father in the world. [We already know he’s great with Melek] Sahra puts on the finishing touch, Nare, you and Menekse are lucky. Cold silence from Nare as she leaves the kitchen. Sahra smirks.

Sancar enters the grove office and sits at the table with Gediz. There are no words between them, only glares and stares. Gediz signs and turns the papers over to Sancar. Gediz finally speaks. He solemnly tells Sancar, you were right. Right about what, Sancar asks? Gediz replies, the day I gave you Akin you warned me, [Turkish] “I was a victim of my doubt, don’t be a victim of your arrogance.” You were right.
Sancar asks, are you sorry? Or is this your last move to get your shares back? Gediz answers, of course not. They are already yours, Sancar. I’m just assessing the situation. Your doubt led you to victory and my pride took me out of the game. Sancar asks, do you really think I won this game? Yes, Gediz replies, you won and I lost. You have the girl and my shares. You won, Sancar Efe.
Sancar sees it differently. I'll tell you something, Gediz. I wish you were still the best friend who started this company with me and that you had your shares. What have you done to us? Sancar signs the documents. Gediz gets up. He says, I'm going to get my shares back. Sancar smiles at his ex- partner, at least I know you will try.
Elvan is standing outside the truck for some air. Melek has fallen asleep inside. Gediz takes a call from Sahra. Sahra asks, hoping for good news, did you meet with Sancar? Did you buy the shares? What happened? Gediz asks, are you questioning me? Gediz goes outside the building, and he doesn’t notice Elvan beside the truck. Sahra tries to get the info out of him, did you buy the shares or not? Did you bankrupt him? Gediz answers, Sahra honey, can we talk about it tomorrow? See you at my house.
Elvan strides over to Gediz, you finally convinced Sahra, right? Just what Gediz needed. Elvan calls him, a shameless man. Gediz tells her to calm down. Don't tell me what to do, Elvan responds, better answer me. What the hell will you talk to Sahra about tomorrow? Gediz replies, I wanted to invite her to go out with me, but she hung up.
Elvan asks for clarification. Gediz explains, I think she's beautiful. I like her, I'm going to ask her to be my girlfriend. Is that wrong? Maybe not, but Elvan is very suspicious. She tells him, you caused a complete disaster when you fell in love with Nare, you remember? Because I do, and I'm not surprised, she says. This is typical of you. You are the last person to be trusted.
Gediz walks away but stops and thinks back to the lights on at Feride’s house. He asks Elvan, did Aunt Feride go home? Elvan snarks, why? Will you also ask her out? Gediz snarks back, no, I'll tell her to cover you with cowhide (!), since you can't cure yourself. He claims it’s for his mother she has some pains and wants medicine. Elvan says then she should go to the mansion. Tonight is Nare’s henna night.
Halise grabs a hold of Elvan as she enters the house. Where have you been? Elvan snarks, if you just want to argue, I will leave and not return. And I will ask your son for a divorce. Halise tells her to shut up or she will get a slap. It's over and finished. You're not going to talk about divorce anymore and you’re not leaving this mansion. Ayse comes halfway up the stairs and listens in.
Elvan says she has some conditions. I'm not going to live in the mansion until Nare does, too. Halise calls Elvan stubborn. Elvan’s other condition is as long as she lives in this house, Yahya will never come back. Halise thinks Elvan has lost her mind. How can I have a wife without her husband in my house, she asks? Elvan tells Halise, well, you decide. Halise asks, and what will change if you don't get divorced, Elvan? Elvan reminds her MIL, your son put the horns on me. He deserves to be punished. Halise agrees he deserves it, but he should eventually come back, right? Elvan laughs, we'll see, and she walks away.

Yahya is hanging out at Dudu’s watching TV. [can’t remember if he’s sleeping there, too.] Ayse calls and fills her in. Dudu shares the latest with Yahya. Elvan will return to the mansion. What? Dudu adds, only on the condition that you will never live there, and your mother accepted without a problem. Yahya thinks that’s crazy, what is she doing without her husband in that house? Dudu explains, she is manipulating you now, to forgive you later. Yahya is surprised and asks, she will forgive me? And what if she does, Dudu asks, would you go back to her?
Gediz makes a return trip with the van and shovel to Feride’s house. He starts digging up the cabbage patch when Kman comes out of the house with a big smile, hello, Gediz, what’s happening? You’ve found the body at last and you are going to bury it somewhere else?
Gediz is stunned. How did you know, he asks Kman? Kman spreads his arms wide and announces, I am Kahraman, you know? He tells Gediz, you do well not to trust Sahra. She can call the police and they will send Sancar to prison. And if that happens, you will go to prison, too, for writing bad checks. If I was in your place, I would hide the body. Gediz is incredulous, how do you know all that?
Kman reminds him, Kahraman is my name, that's why I know. Gediz realizes Kman’s men have been watching him. Kman smiles and nods. He asks Kman, well, what do you want? Kman replies, let this man rest, and I will convince Sahra not to say anything to the police. How, Gediz asks? Kman answers, let's say I know her weaknesses. I will talk to her so that neither Sancar nor you go to prison, okay?
Gediz asks, and in exchange, for what? Kman plays around, I don't want anything, you offend me. Gediz knows he has something in mind. Kman says, okay, since you insist, I want your shares. The 40 years are worth it.
Gediz informs Kman it’s too late he already sold them to Sancar to avoid going to jail. Kman says, give me the money he paid you for the shares. Do we have a deal? Gediz is stuck. He throws down the shovel and leaves in disgust.
A disillusioned Sahra comes out of Feride’s house. Kman asks, did you see that? Gediz acts behind your back. I'm the only one you can trust. Are you upset? Sahra answers, I'm mad at myself for—having trusted. Kman asks, how come a psycho like you trusted Gediz so much?
Kman flashes a shot of his recording from Meanie’s house. Sahra can’t do anything but comply. What are we going to do, sir? I’m at your command. Kman says, I will take the money from Gediz. Sahra says, and I will call the police and report the body, right? Kman confirms you will call the police and report the body. But you'll blame Gediz. Sahra is impressed. She says, Sancar goes to prison, Nare imprisons Gediz ... I think it's a good plan. And you take everything. Kman spreads his arms out, I am Kahraman, and I own everything.
Sancar is dressed and ready to take Nare to the mansion for henna night. He knocks on the door. His back turned he’s smiling in anticipation, fixing his shirt collar, smoothing his jacket. The door opens and he turns, saying, do I see a fairy? He’s surprised to see her standing there in her sweats. You’re not ready? The guests are arriving, he says.
He sees the somber look on her face and his smile fades. She turns and walks into the yard. He follows and asks, you are not going? Nare faces him and he approaches her.
Nare starts with some hesitation, I was raped. I was very hurt. But I played the game of happiness and came to you. I believed that you would heal my wounds and we would be very happy, but that never happened. My wounds only bled more. And later, you cheated on me. I was hurt again. I played the game of happiness and that's why I used this ring. Because I thought that at last we'd be happy forever, but—Sancar tearfully interrupts, don't do it, Nare.

Sancar doesn’t take Elvan’s call. Elvan enters the living room and cheerily says, ladies, good evening, what can I offer you? [I can assure you the guest did not ask for an “empanada” as it says in the translation.] The Mukhtar’s wife asks for lemonade and some cookies.

Elvan calls Nare, are you are okay? Did you argue with Sancar? Nare is wrapped up in Melek’s bed. She tells Elvan, it's over. I'm on my way, Elvan replies. Nare tells her, no, don't come. You will make me feel so much better if you're with Melek and Sancar.
Guests are dancing and Melek is right in the middle of the action. Elvan dances her way over to Gulsiye and tells her to take Melek upstairs, don’t ask for details. So Gulsiye asks…and Elvan replies I told you not to ask. Gulsiye dances Melek out of the room.
Elvan turns off the music and makes the announcement over a mic. Our bride is ill. That’s it for today. Halise gasps. The mukhtar’s wife comments, so the bride suddenly got sick? Oh, how unfortunate. Feride gives a mocking laugh and says, I hope it's not oral diarrhea like yours.
Elvan says she caught the flu. Wish her good health. Everyone says, “geçmiş olsun” - may it be in the past. Used as a get well or for any unfortunate situation. The guests are hurried out. Halise glares at Elvan. She says into the mic, Nare has the flu.
Gulsiye brings Melek to her father who is pacing up in the refuge. Sancar greets his daughter with a big hug and a kiss. Melek asks, dad, what happened? Where is mom?
Sancar starts the difficult conversation… uh ... she stayed home, my love. Melek asks, what about the henna night? Sancar asks his daughter to sit with him. He holds her hands and tells her, my love...the celebration will have to wait. Melek says, no?
And we are out of this awful episode. Monday might not be much better.

Dondi you did an amazing job on this episode. It was so difficult to watch - tho I couldn’t understand all they were saying I was still teary eyed and the sweet scene between Melek and Sancar broke my heart! The characters have had personality changes this 2nd season and not all for the best.
Is Akin’s psycho sister really wanting the inheritance or actually just wanting revenge? Wonder how long it will take for Kman to notice that Ceylan’s weight gain is primarily out front? Maybe he’ll shoot psycho sis for her deceit with Ceylon-good riddance.

Diana, “The confrontation scene at breakfast was heartbreaking” Yes, it was! I wasn’t surprised at the “children’s” reaction and I am so glad Alicia came through for us. The icing on the cake was giving back the rings and especially the name. I was expecting Gonzo to say something like, “ I understand your situation” but at least he told Alicia she had his support. Yuri took awhile, but she came around….thank goodness! Egads, if Sergio would take custody of Miranda, she would end up much worse than she already is! I wish Alicia had just walked away when Eva told her that it was her turn to talk.

Watching that scene at the end of Sancar about to break the news to sweet Melek that the wedding wasn't going to happen was painful. I don't care about these crazed adults , but my heart hurts when I see Melek's hopes going up only to be crushed over and over again. Children need stability , and Melek has been moved from place to place and passed from one adult to another ..no playmates, no toys , no school . ugh
Sancar is now the rational, controlled , stable one in her life . I must admit that I do find it kind of funny watching him limp unconvincing!y around in those tight leggings and combat boots. Teehee sorry . I know one is not supposed to laugh at the awesome , good looking galan.
Nare's suffering over Meanie carrying San's baby is so frustrating because ..SHE'S NOT...Mean, dim Meanie is carrying a throw pillow ...and it isn't even San's throw pillow. Guh . If only frantic , fierce Feride could have gotten one quick feel in....and you know she is definitely the type of person who always has to touch a pregnant belly. So frustrating .
Gediz just will not quit trying to mess up San and his world. Ugh

Elvan has Been cast as the true friend to Nare and San, and she had Gediz's number early on , so why doesn't she see Sahra's true nature and the danger she is to San and Nare?

Yes, SaraAnne, personality changes in this season, namely Gediz and Sancar.
Rgv Chick, “Nare finally admitted that she still has issues to resolve.” Yep, that girl is a hot mess and needs professional help. And: “Sancar’s support was so needed and he came through—he didn’t push or question. He’s finally becoming the galan we all want to see.” I don’t disagree with you. But many in viewerville were unhappy with the changes to Sancar and Gediz.
Ah, the inscrutable Dr. Sahra. Tough to get a read. Her facial expressions are so subtle. She slit Loki’s throat without hesitation. She could have easily dispatched Sancar but didn’t. She pretends to be friends with Nare and Elvan. She truly cares about Ceylan. She flirts with Gediz and now is forced to conspire with Kman. The thing I love about her is her disgust for Meanie. The look on her face every time Meanie speaks is priceless.
Kman doesn’t see Ceylan regularly, only a couple of times and she wasn’t huge then. But I also found it strange that he didn’t think possible pregnancy, SaraAnne.
Susanlynn, the pandemic effected the filming of the show. A nationwide shutdown cut the first season short. They probably would have ended it with Sancar and Akin going over the cliff. Great “cliff hanger”, right?
I think that’s also the reason we didn’t see Melek in a school setting or with many other children. There were times when they mentioned her online classes and we caught a glimpse in a recent episode. They seem to have edited most of this out.
Sancar limping around was kinda funny. But I suppose it’s also ridiculous he fell off a mountain and recovered so quickly. Must have been the cowhide. I thought of Zehra’s limp and if only they would break Yahya’s leg, all three would be hobbling around. And I dislike skinny jeans on guys.
Get your tissues out for Monday. I hope Uni does not edit anything.

Yes, SaraAnne, personality changes in this season, namely Gediz and Sancar.
Rgv Chick, “Nare finally admitted that she still has issues to resolve.” Yep, that girl is a hot mess and needs professional help. And: “Sancar’s support was so needed and he came through—he didn’t push or question. He’s finally becoming the galan we all want to see.” I don’t disagree with you. But many in viewerville were unhappy with the changes to Sancar and Gediz.
