Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #25
Part 1 of 5

Reyyan pushes Miran and walks away. He grabs her arm telling her that he knows why she is so angry with him and he also knows that she did not stab Gonul. You mean your wi...? (based on his reaction, I don’t think she actually got the word wife out completely) says Reyyan. Leave me alone, I don’t want to hear another word from any Aslanbey and especially not from you! She breaks his grip on her arm and walks away. Miran looks almost hopeful, saying you will turn around.

On cue, Reyyan does indeed turn back around looking at him over her shoulder. Miran smiles and walks back to where he left Firat. While waiting for Miran, Firat is ignoring a call from Yaren. A crying, desperate Yaren texts him that she really needs to see him. He wonders what is going on with her now. He texts back that he is busy but can see her in half an hour.

Miran shows back up and tell Firat that he was able to talk to Reyyan and tell her he knows she didn’t stab Gonul, he feels better now. Firat tells him, I am worried about you my brother. I know you so well, we grew up together and I have never seen you act this way with or for anyone.

Miran responds saying he is being pulled apart and all the voices in his head are deafening. He cannot trust anyone in his own family (oh you got that one right Miran) everyone is lying to him. Right now, the only person he trusts is Reyyan. Now he needs a quiet place, maybe the office to think of a way to make Reyyan trust him again. Firat tells him he has an errand to run and will join him shortly.

At the Sadoglu konak, Nasuh and Cihan are talking about a business contract. Nasuh wants Cihan to run it past Hazar, Cihan does not look pleased but agrees. Melike comes in to inform Nasuh that the attorney wishes to see him. Neither he nor Cihan know why but they don’t think it is good news.

Yaren sneaks out as Cihan and Nasuh join the attorney in the courtyard. It is not good news, the Aslanbey family has moved forward with the threat to foreclose on lien and their representatives are at the Sadoglu offices right now. Hazar calls to confirm. Nasuh has another throat grabbing incident (come on stroke!) but instead of dying like we all would like, he yells “Reyyan!! I will kill you” As if this is all her fault.

In the middle of a side street, Yaren is pacing nervously waiting for Firat. He arrives and coldly asks her what she needs. In tears, she tells him that her GT is going to marry her off to someone she doesn’t even know (hopefully with body odor and a face full of warts, thanks RVG Chick and novelera).

Firat says there is nothing he can do about that. Yaren cries, why are you treating me like this? (seriously, let us count the ways honey). Firat tells her very directly that he doesn’t believe her fake tears as she has lied to him so many times, why should he believe he now?

He gives her a good accounting of all the coincidences regarding Miran and Reyyan that he shared with her and she took advantage of. He raises his voice and tells her that he could never be with a conniving bitch like her (okay it wasn’t exactly said that way). Firat walks away but Yaren stops him saying. one day, you will regret all these things you have said that are not true. Unmoved, Firat walks away, leaving Yaren crying real tears saying what am I going to do now?

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #25
Part 2 of 5

Reyyan arrives back to the Sadoglu (soon to be Aslanbey) konak. She steadies her heart with her hand. GT sees her and brutally grabs her hair and slaps her around claiming his ruin is all her fault for keeping that mutt Miran around the family who is now destroying them and their wealth. He wishes her dead. Cihan cannot stop the old Tyrant and tells Melike to call Hazar. While on the ground, Reyyan steels herself and grabs the pistol from GT’s belt.

She threatens to shoot anyone who will stop her (Viewerville all yell “shoot, shoot!) as she backs out the door/gate of the konak. A bloody, beaten, gun toting Reyyan, heads purposely down the side streets and sidewalks of Midyat, remembering things Miran has said to her about this only being the beginning (I think he actually meant of his love for her) and that she didn’t know what he was capable of.

Miran, sitting in the plush Aslanbey business offices, is trying to think of a way to gain Reyyan’s trust. She walks in, looking fierce and tells Miran, look at me! This is what your greed has caused. He asks, what happened, who did this to you? She responds by pushing him hard, gun in hand, demanding that he just STOP! Stop the vengeance on my family, stop dragging us through the mud. You already dragged me and my honor to the ground, you broke my parents heart and now you want our property and businesses too? Because of you, I am right back in the bullseye of GT’s torment of me.

Isn’t your cold heart done? Reyyan aims the pistol point blank to Miran’s chest. I wish I had died on that bridge! Or why didn’t you have the avocados to use this pistol and put a bullet in my head the morning you left me in the cabin? Why did your grandmother save me from the burning cabin? Everything will stop if I just die. Putting the pistol into Miran’s hand, she demands that he pull the trigger and just end this now.

Instead, Miran pulls Reyyan into an embrace, hugging her hard. He tells her if she dies, he dies. If there is no Reyyan, Miran does not exists. He continues to embrace her. Hazar enters the office, grabs Reyyan and gives Miran a solid right hook, demanding that he leave his daughter alone! Hazar hugs Reyyan as she begs him to kill her and end the torture.

Hazar is shocked to see Reyyan’s face. He grabs the pistol off the table and tells Miran that he was his sworn mortal enemy and now he will die for destroying his daughter. He will take care of Reyyan and help to bring the smile back to her face but he can only do that by killing Miran. Reyyan, once again puts herself between a gun and Miran. Hazar begs her to allow him to end this! She tells her father that you cannot kill someone who never existed.

Miran, is stunned and whispers, “Reyyan?” Reyyan and Hazar slowly leave the office.

Gul and Zehra arrive back from town with a red balloon. A concerned Melike tells Gul that there is a surprise for her in the kitchen! Melike tells Zehra what happened, Zehra heads of the konak and sees the brutalized Reyyan walking slowly with Hazar. Azat drives up at the same time, as Hazar pulls the pistol and heads into the konak.

Hazar yells for GT. Holding the pistol, he demands that his father look him in the eye, surprisingly, it takes Nasuh a few seconds to do so. Hazar shoves the gun into GT’s hand and demands that he kill him, Gul, Zehra and Reyyan or let them all just leave.

Into the courtyard comes Miran, yelling Nasuh Sadoglu, stop, I want to talk! Everyone stops and looks at Miran. Miran glances at Reyyan saying: I will pay off your lien at the bank! I will stop the foreclosure and end all this hostility! More looks go around the courtyard and range all around the emotional spectrum for each family member.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #25
Part 3 of 5

GT asks, what do you want in return? No big surprise, Miran says Reyyan. Furious, Hazar once again grabs Miran by the collar, Azat goes after him as well and is held back by Handan. Hazar yells, now you are trying to buy my daughter? Reyyan stands in front of Miran saying, is this why you authorized the seizure of our property?

Miran, who just cannot get any of this right, tells her no, that is not why I meant. Nasuh pushes everyone away and confronts Miran asking him again, so you will pay our debts, end the foreclosure and hostilities if I give you Reyyan? Yes, says Miran, I want to free her.

Azat and Hazar plead with GT not to sell Reyyan. Nasuh tells Miran that it is clear he is an Aslanbey and the lies his grandmother told him about the Sadoglu family are not true. He will not sell anyone carrying the name of Sadoglu to their mortal enemies. He will resolve the issues himself! It is not up to the enemy to protect Reyyan or pay off debts.

Miran stares at Reyyan in a pitiful way the whole time Nasuh is dressing him down. Hazar looks relived with GT words, until he announces that Reyyan will marry Azat. She will be a wife and daughter in this house. Neither one of my granddaughters will be the lover to an Aslanbey, not for debt or for honor. Only Azat looks happy at this announcement.

Miran makes one last effort to grab Reyyan and tries to convince her with his eyes what he cannot put into words. I did everything for you Reyyan, look into my eyes. Everyone fights him off, but it is Reyyan who stops him by telling him to leave, looking over his shoulder to the open door of the konak, she sees Gonul (remembering Gonul telling her she is the wife of Miran) standing there (where in the heck are the guards?) and tells Miran to leave, she will marry Azat and he needs to return to where (who) he belongs. Gonul actual smiles slightly at this.

Reyyan tells him to leave, he heard her grandfather, she will stay in her home and marry Azat. How could you try to buy me after all the humiliation you have caused me? You should be ashamed! Miran begs he not to marry Azat. GT tells him to leave and never put one foot back into the konak.

Sputtering, Miran backs out of the courtyard, then turns and sees Gonul. He grabs her demanding to know what she is doing? Why doesn’t she just stay out of his way and leave him alone. Pretty calmly, she says she heard what happened at the office and came to make sure he was ok. He demands that she leave! Nope, says Gonul, I am here by your side as a wife should be. Angry, Miran demands she get in the car.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #25
Part 4 of 5

Miran arrives at the Aslanbey konak and yells for this grandmother. Why did you initiate the seizure of assets of the Sadoglu? In front of the whole family, BG walks over to him and gives him a resounding slap. How dare you question me and my decisions! Miran tells her that because of this venganza it is his fault that Reyyan is being forced to marry Azat! BG starts to sing her same venganza song.

The tortured Miran tells her he would never have gone through the venganza knowing what this would do to Reyyan. He would have focused on Hazar but not Reyyan. He tells BG to stop the seizure of assets, she says it is too late. Those assets are now hers and hers only. Just because he lost his way by falling in love with the daughter of her mortal enemy, she is not going to let all the years of mourning go to waste. In short, she tries to guilt him again that he is not honoring his mother. But now we know she is doing this to humiliate him and is enjoying it!

Miran tells her he will no longer obey her orders and he leaves the konak angry and frustrated. (What else is new).

Gonul gleefully tells the vipers plus Elif that Miran will be hers again because she heard Nasuh authorize the marriage of Reyyan to Azat. Elif steps forward saying to Azat? This interest does not go unnoticed by Gonul or BG.

Sultana tells Gonul not to let her guard down because Miran is still furious with her. Gonul claims that he will forget what she did with time and with time will also forget Reyyan. Elif looks at her like she is one full plate of crazy and walks away.

Sultana tells BG that her sand castle house is falling apart. BG tells her that she knows what she is doing and planned for every potential aspect. BG then rubs it into Sultana’s face that having Firat (who some are speculating is Sultana’s dead child) in charge of the money was smart because if the assets had transferred to Miran, he would have paid off the Sadoglu debt and Reyyan would be right back living in this konak.

BG tells Sultana that she will never have enough smarts to head the Aslanbey family and walks away. Sultana thinks, you can say whatever you want Azize, but your time is almost up and it will be Miran who destroys you. (Or Firat who destroys you Sultana).

Back at the Sadoglu konak, Reyyan insists on talking to GT. She asks why he made this drastic decision as he wanted her dead a few hours before? He claims that he will not let the enemy buy him off even if it means getting rid of her. He says he cannot lose his son or grandson and would prefer marrying her off to Azat to bring peace and harmony back to the home so he can fight the battle against the enemy. He tells her not to forget that moving forward he will make all the decisions about her fate. He decides if she lives or dies.

GT heads out of the konak followed by Hazar who demands to know what is going on, why did he change his mind to allow Reyyan to live and stay with the family? GT says that Hazar should be grateful for this decision because now Reyyan will be with him always. GT tells Hazar not to forget what he just did for him as his son.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #25
Part 5 of 5

He will never accept Reyyan as a true granddaughter but he is willing to accept she stay and live with them just to keep Hazar close. He pretends to be a loving father telling Hazar that he could not live without him. He wants to have peace and harmony in the home and he will never again touch Reyyan or allow the enemy to either.

Hazar is so moved by the “new and improved” GT that he has to sit on a window ledge to absorb everything. GT moves on down the alleyway thinking to himself: I won’t touch her, but Reyyan will die, just not with my hands. (So much for the loving father award).

Poor Miran took BG’s insistence that he go to his mother’s grave and confess his lack of avocados to continue the venganza. He sits on the side of the headstone crying and hugging it as if he were hugging his mother. He says, I wish you were alive mother and sitting beside me. You would hug me and ruffle my hair telling me everything is going to be fine and the storm would pass.

He continues, last time I was here, I told you that my heart was still restless and now I feel like I am burning in the flames that I created. This anguish is suffocating me and my heart hurts and it burns me from the inside. I hurt an innocent person; I have a knot in my throat that will not go away. I cannot sleep or be at peace. It is killing me mother. I am trapped in the punishment of my own making. I am in limbo, not living and not dead. I know that mothers forgive their children regardless of what they have done. Please mother, I need you to forgive me. Please, forgive me because my heart will not listen to my mind. Please mom, forgive me. (recapper had to cry with him).

Handan sees Azat pacing the courtyard and comes out to tell him that Reyyan is only marrying him out of spite against Miran. She doesn’t love him and left him once already, that is not going to change. Azat tells her not to say anymore, besides GT has given permission this time around. Handan says that is for a completely different reason. Just then GT arrives back at the konak.

GT asks Handan what is going on. She tells him that is exactly what she would like to know. No one understands this decision he has made and no one is in agreement but they have no choice but to do what he says. She flounces off.

Azat asks if he can speak with GT. GT sits down and allows him to speak. Azat says that he really does want to know what changed? Why is GT allowing him to marry Reyyan after wanting to kill her hours before? GT says it is because he wants the family all together. Azat says that is great, I will respect your answer as long as there is not an ulterior motive for this sudden change of heart. I will advise you GT, that if there is a hidden motive that ends up hurting Reyyan, I will not stand for it. Azat walks away.

GT nervously looks around as he dials a number telling the person on the other end that they should meet at the designated place in half an hour. GT tells the person that he doesn’t have much time and this has to end tonight.

Upstairs in their bedroom, Zehra is crying uncontrollably and Hazar is miserable.
Hazar decides that it is time to confess the truth about Reyyan’s parentage because she cannot pay the price because of a lie. Zehra resists, saying but you are the only father Reyyan knows! She was an orphan and now you want me to make her an orphan again by telling her you are not her bio dad?

Outside the bedroom door stands Azat, who has heard the entire conversation and the episode ends with his look of surprise hearing this latest news.

Another whirlwind episode of emotions and dialogue. Please fill in anything I missed. The whole seizing of assets/foreclosure/embargo of the business was confusing as different words were being used. I think I sort of got it right in the end.

For planning purposes, I will have time to recap the episode on Wednesday.

Just for RGV Chick, I did bring back the “avocados” for this recap and thank you for the shout out to this patio last week as you used this new description in one of your recaps. It made me smile.

herc

MANY thanks, VVS, for this superb recap! I too found the financial details rather confusing, but your recap made things clearer. And, of course, I LOVED your asides,
such as "(hopefully with body odor and a face full of warts, thanks RVG Chick and novelera)," "why are you treating me like this? (seriously, let us count the ways honey)," and "(Viewerville all yell “shoot, shoot!)." Indeed, the windows in my apartment started rattling from all the shouting. And I'm so glad you've brought back the avocados!

So GT hasn't really abandoned his hatred of Reyyan and his wish to see her dead. Somehow, he has just tried to make sure he's not seen as the one to blame. As you comment, "(So much for the loving father award)."

Perhaps my eyes were playing tricks on me, but I thought that BG didn't merely slap Miran, she actually hit him with something, perhaps her prayer beads?

So what is Elif's interest in Azat? They both seem to be basically good people, and brave. So...

Looks as if I may have an interesting episode to recap tonight, given the mysterious phone call GT made at the end of your episode. I guess we'll see. Thanks again!!

herc

Glad I could add some clarity Juanita to all those confusing financial terms! Thank you for the great comments! I appreciate it.

I didn’t notice if BG used her beads to smack Miran, but she probably did.

I think Elif has a bit of a spark in her eye for Azat. They would actually make a nice couple and drive BG even more off the ledge.

GT is as phony as BG is. Poor Reyyan is probably going to get kidnapped yet again and Miran will have to use his power of Telenovela Turkish GPS to rescue her, again.

Oh I think you are going to have a fun episode to cover. So far, not one episode has been dull or boring. Looking forward to it!

Herc

Its hard to watch these men...smack women around on these TNs. Its infuriating that GT is beating down Reyen for something she didn't do. She didn't go out and seduce Miran and leave him. He came on to her, wooed and married her and then left her to get back at GT and Hazar. A fact that GT clearly knows...and is hiding something regarding this vendetta anyway. Truly hope this is the last epi that we see anyone ...let alone GT lay hands on the Reyen character.

But Yaren...that's a different story. She actually deserves to be smacked down ...daily because of her jealousy and plotting against Reyen. I'm on the side all who want's a short stout guy with lots of warts for her future husband.

Why won't Reyen confront Miran about his wife...she needs to let him know the cats out the bag. Maybe this will get him moving toward a divorce because we know that's going to happen.

I'm curious as is others on why it was important for Miran to marry Gonul. Perhaps it's obvious that anyone outside of their family would not go along with him marrying Reyen to spite her family. It shouldn't be for wealth or money right...cause bad granny is loaded.

Nett

herc

Thank you for the comments Nett. Like you, the man-handling of the women except for Yaren, is hard to watch. She certainly deserves a smack every single day, I even felt bad for Gonul when Miran almost choked her. (Interesting that Gonul didn’t even have to wear a scarf to cover up those finger marks). But I could care less about Yaren getting tossed around.

Why won’t Reyyan confront Miran about being married? That is a great question and one that is driving a few of us crazy. I don’t know what is behind that hesitancy. Reyyan did show some respect for Gonul last night, demanding Miran leave and giving her that nod of here you go.

I agree that BG aka Bad Grannie and GT are certainly hiding many, many more secrets.

herc

Wow! Fantastic recap, VVS. YOU have some avocados! That epi was loaded with complicated conversations and you got them all.

OK, I think Nasuh was serious when he said that he wanted to keep Hazar with him. VVS, your recap made it clearer that he still really does want to get rid of Reyyan. But he also said in an earlier episode, I believe, that he didn't plan to lose his primogénito (first born son) because of all this. Whether fatherly love or just possessiveness is behind this, it's hard to say.

Nett, we also wonder why BG wanted Miran married to Gonul.

I think BG was a bit taken aback when Miran didn't just cave after her slap. More and more family members are not settling for her tyranny lately.

That term embargo confused me. I went to my digital dictionary and one of the translations to English was "trade embargo". I am still confused by the use of that word. The episode before, IIRC, BG talked about humiliating GT and the whole Sadoglu family. The way she said it, I was sort of thinking there was some other thing to be revealed, not just financial ruin.

I was SO glad Firat didn't respond to Yaren's pity party. And, by the way, how in blazes would he be able to do anything about GT's plan. And, she doesn't want to run away with Firat anyway. She wants Miran at any cost whatsoever.

I've just about given up hope that Hazar and Zehra are ever going to tell Reyyan the truth about Hazar not being her father.

Herc

What an amazing recap, VVS! Brilliant! You missed nothing. Read like a snarky short story.

So bad for cheering for a stroke for Nasuh. So glad Firat walked away from Yaren.

I thought that the Spanish word “embargo” could also mean seizure. That’s how I remember it from narco novelas. The Turkish ep kept using the word for foreclosure and they mentioned lien a couple of times.

I wonder what Azat is going to do with the info on Hazar and Reyyan.

I like the idea of Azat and Elif.

Both families are out of control.

dondi356

herc

Thanks for the encouraging comments novelera and dondi356. I have to admit I am a bit obsessed with this dizi, so much that I invested a bit into my apps and purchased the peacock network so I can really follow the dialogue in both English and Spanish just to sort out all those complicated discussions. It will also allow me to watch when I travel so I don’t leave you hanging for my recap nights.

I do wonder if Hazar and Zehra will tell Reyyan the truth and now that Azat knows what will he do with that information?

Yes dondi356, both families are out of control thanks to their controlling head of family!

novelera, I had to look up embargo as well and I am still confused as to what it all means. I think there is more to it than just the financial ruin as you stated. I was also glad that Firat didn’t cave to Yaren. She just bugs me.

I’m loving these totally “overacting “ people! Where they get all their passion on such a regular basis would be exhausting for the average human, lol, but I guess that’s why it’s a novela. I have to agree that watching the regular beatings of these women, except Yaren, makes me want to poison somebody and watch them die a slow death——especially Nasuh! He must’ve gotten burnt badly in love by someone who looked just like Reyyan when he was young, cause there is just no excuse for his treatment of her! Hazar should’ve put a stop to that long ago, which is why I don’t have a lot of respect for him. And Azize! She is totally gangster——which I love about her—- but so twisted! Who broke her heart, too, cause she definitely doesn’t have one!

Thanks so much for the recap, it clears up so much that’s going on!

herc

Welcome to the Hercai patio carmella! It sure does a recapper good to see a comment from a new contributor! I think you are spot on with both Nasuh and Azize having been scorned in the past. Is it possible that it was with each other? We have been speculating on this for a while.

I love “Azize is a gangster,” she sure is! Glad the recap helped! Hope to see your great comments with us on this crazy, emotional Turkish ride!

Cafe

I know these aren't being recapped, but I need help. (Also, loving the Hercai recaps. I couldn't watch because the whole "I'll kill you because you're husband left you and shame and whatnot even though you have a phone and cars and you could leave or call for help because pretty sure murder is still illegal even in this crazy town". Also, Turkey is more fun with tiaras). So back to Cafe. What is the deal with Lemarcos and Marce and the money that he needed? I missed what happened there and am not sure why they broke up. The rest of the stuff I'm getting well enough if not great. I am sure that even though Carlos is a bad guy, he's a lot more likable than mama Julia, so I got that much.

Kelly

Thanks so much for the welcome VVS! Glad to be here!

Café

Hello Kelly glad to see you back! Regarding the LeMarcos and Marcela drama, he is trying to help his community pueblo get a new water tank/boiler (not sure which) but the guy in charge of approving a permit is a politico asking for a bribe. Marcela found out and now is upset that LeLe is breaking the law providing this guy with the bribe to get the permit to install the piece of machinery. Personally, I think she is overreacting and acting like a spoiled brat, but money issues are best dealt with before getting any more serious in a relationship. Hope this helps!

Regarding Hercai, I laughed out loud with your description of the dizi theme. Turkey is better with tiaras! 😊 Mama Julia would fit right into Midyat drinking tea with Handan!

Hercai: Amor y venganza - #26 - p 1 de 4

As the episode opens, Hazar and Zehra are discussing whether to tell Reyyan that he is not her biological father. Hazar says from the moment of her birth, when Zehra handed Reyyan to him, he immediately understood what it meant to be a father. She is my daughter. I love her every bit as much as I love Gul. I held her in my arms, combed her hair, took her to school, cared for her when she was sick. Zehra tells him he's much more her father than her biological father. Hazar admits that he's terribly afraid of losing Reyyan. She couldn't leave Zehra, Zehra's blood runs in her veins. But she could leave me. Then he says,"if the only thing keeping us here is the secret, let's tell her. And then let's leave. Take the girls and go somewhere far away. Together. That's the right thing to do." To my surprise, Zehra seems opposed to this. She points out that "Reyyan is doing this for us, to keep her family together. You're saying that we have to take her parents from her? We can't sacrifice her. We can't!" [I confess that I don't understand this. Telling Reyyan the truth about her father is not taking her parents from her. Moreover, it would make possible their leaving and having a happy life together elsewhere.]

Azat is very unhappy that he heard this conversation. He walks away, mulling over the entire conversation. "Why did I have to hear it?" he asks himself. "I'm damned if I tell Reyyan and damned if I don't."

Reyyan goes to the stable and greets her horse, whose name I think is Mavi. She tells Mavi that her grandfather has finally accepted her, not as his granddaughter but as a Sadoglu. She is happy about this. She asks the horse whether it remembers when we went out riding and saw Miran for the first time. Let's go back, she says, as if that never happened. She puts the saddle on Mavi and goes out riding. She tells herself that Azat truly loves her, and she has made the right decision.

Reyyan doesn't know that Miran is out riding, too. He sees her after she has gotten off her horse. Miran dismounts as well and walks toward her, smiling. "What are you doing here?" she asks. "I'm here for you," he replies. "Who told you I'd be here?" she asks. He replies, "My heart." He tells her about all the regret he feels for the pain he has caused her. "We need to talk," he says. She agrees, but only if he tells her all the truth. "You already know everything," he says. "Is there nothing you still have to tell me?" she asks. "No," he says. "Then you and I have nothing to talk about," she says coldly. He asks her not to look at him so coldly. "It hurts me here," he says, taking her hand and putting it near his heart. "I can't fix you," she tells him. "I will never be yours." She leads her horse away.

Zehra, Gul, a number of the servants, and Yaner are enjoying each other's company in the kitchen. Everyone is laughing...until Handan enters. "You all look so happy," says Handan bitterly. "I too would be laughing if my dishonored daughter were marrying a great man's son." People start protesting, but Handan continues. "No mother wants a girl like her to marry her only son. Marry her to some good-for-nothing like she deserves. It's not all your fault. My dumbbell son bears some of the blame." And with that, Handan leaves.

The scene shifts to the Aslanbey konak. Elif is seated outside, as is Bad Granny. Miran enters the konak, and BG asks him where he has spent the night. Miran pauses but says nothing, and goes inside. Elif moves over to sit next to her grandmother and tells her, "Miran doesn't want to give you explanations, and neither do I."

herc
Hercai: Amor y venganza - #26 - p 2 de 4

BG provides some empty explanation and justifications for her way of doing things. Elif then asks, "Is your heart made of stone? Don't you feel bad for Miran? He's in despair. Doesn't it break your heart?" Elif admits that right now Miran has been acting badly, but what about Gonul? Does she deserve this situation? Tell me, abuela, says Elif.

Miran is talking to Firat. He tells Firat that Reyyan has misunderstood Miran's offer at the Sadoglu konak. "Reyyan thought I was trying to buy her." He then tells Firat to call off the seizure of the Sadoglu assets. Firat says he can't do that. Miran points out that BG and Firat have control of all the finances. She won't do this, so Firat must. "You have to help me," he pleads to Firat. "We're like brothers. Reyyan has to understand."

Miran then enters his room and finds Gonul asleep on his bed. She wakes up. It's clear that Miran isn't about to join her in bed. "It's been three years," she says to him. "I haven't slept with you once. And now you tell me I can't sleep here. You look at me with such hate and disdain." Miran claims he doesn't hate her. He just does what his abuela says. "I don't mean to hurt you," he tells Gonul. "Marriage was her decision, not mine. "I can't stand to see you cry. But my heart is suffering, too. I can love you only as a cousin, not as a wife." Gonul tells him, "I loved you from the first moment I saw you. Do you remember when we were in elementary school. We held hands as we went to school. I knew then that we'd be married." [No comment] "I never looked at anyone else. You hold my life in your hands," she tells Miran. "Enough already!" says Miran. Gonul replies, "Don't look at me, don't accept me, but don't try to erase what I feel for you. That's all I have left." Gonul leaves his room. After she leaves, Miran takes out the ring he had given to Reyyan and stares at it again.

Reyyan too is looking at a ring, an engagement ring that Azat has given her. He asks whether she likes it. She tells him it wasn't necessary. He says he's been dreaming of their marrying for a long time. "I know why you are doing this," he says. "You don't have to be embarrassed." Reyyan tells him it's not fair to him. He loves her, but she's marrying just so she can stay with her parents. Azat remembers her parents' conversation that he overheard. He asks Reyyan, "If there were another solution, if you could leave this home, would you do it?" She replies, "No. It's not that I don't want to leave, but my father was only leaving because of me. He was going to leave his life behind him because of me. If he leaves, grandfather will never forgive him." She adds, "I also feel bad for you. You deserve a woman who loves you truly." Azat assures her that he's happy. He thinks to himself, "I can't take her from her father. I can't."

Back at the Sadoglu konak, Gul claims she has a headache. She says her sugar has dropped. She needs chocolate ice cream. Reyyan humors her and takes her to go for ice cream. As they're leaving the konak, Reyyan remembers that she has no money. Gul tells her that GT has given her some, and that she'll pay for Reyyan, too, if she wishes. They continue to walk. Suddenly Reyyan stops. She sees Firat. Firat thanks Gul and tells Reyyan not to worry, Miran isn't nearby. He (Firat) needs to talk with her.

Hercai: Amor y venganza - #26 - p 3 de 4

Firat tells her that Miran had no idea that the embargo process had been set in motion, and that Reyyan has blamed him unfairly. Reyyan says that may be so, but he came and tried to buy me. Firat tells her she has misunderstood this, too. When Miran saw her all bruised and bloodied, that offer was all he could think of to help. Firat continues, "Miran loves you very much. He is full of regret." Reyyan replies that Miran's love is a lie, he can't love anyone, he doesn't know what love is. She wants nothing more to do with him. She takes Gul by the hand and leaves. On the way home, she asks, "What were you thinking, Gul? Trying to trick your sister!"

Miran is thinking about all the rejections he has had from Reyyan and Hazar. He leaves his room and walks outside. Sultana is there. She tells him that Gonul does everything out of love for him. He's not interested in hearing this. He asks her what she knows about his mother. Sultana says, "Your father was just as irritable as you are, and he took it out on your mother." Miran asks, "What do you mean? Did my father mistreat my mother?" BG appears as Miran and Sultana are talking, and when Miran asks this question, Sultana and BG exchange glances. Sultana then says, "No, your father loved your mother very much. Everything he did, he did out of love." Miran is confused (as well he should be). "That's not what you said a few days ago," he tells her. "If you know something, say it." Sultana tells him that she knows nothing. "A few days ago, you were strangling Gonul, and I had to say something to get you to stop. It worked."

Miran gets a phone call from Melike. "OK, I'm going," he tells her.

We next see Miran enounter Reyyan. "Am I dreaming?" he asks. "I don't want to wake up." Reyyan asks him to drive her someplace.

BG is snooping around in Elif's room and sees the ring Azat had thrown away and Elif tried to return to him. Elif comes into the room. BG asks about the ring. Who does it belong to? Azat Sadoglu. He tossed it away. Why did you keep it? I don't know. BG persists in questioning her. Elif gets upset. "Gonul can come and go and see Azat when she pleases, but when I find a ring by accident, you yell at me." BG asks, "Gonul has been talking to that young man?" Oops. Elif pleads with BG not to mention this to Gonul. She doesn't want to get into trouble with her.

BG tells Gonul, "I know you've met with Azat." Gonul says Elif has wasted no time. Gonul admits that she met with Azat, she helped him find Reyyan. BG accuses her of not having faith in her. Gonul replies, "If you loved me as much as Elif or Miran, but no, Gonul is just a pawn you can use as you wish." BG assures Gonul that she loves her a lot. However, she acted very foolishly, hurting herself. An Aslanbey doesn't do such things. GB tells her, "None of this would have happened if you had trusted me."

Hercai: Amor y venganza - #26 - p 4 de 4

Miran and Reyyan are riding in Miran's car. Reyyan is giving him directions. They finally reach the destination, a very desolate landscape. It is where the cabin had stood, the cabin Reyyan set on fire after Miran left her. She tells him, "If only you had turned around. I hoped you'd turn around. But you kept going and disappeared. You left me. I don't know how long I waiting for you." Miran asks, "If I had returned, would you have forgiven me?" There's a long pause, after which she says, "Of course." "I came back to find you," Miran tells her. "It was too late," she says. "I trusted you, I thought you'd take care of me. When I loved you, you were my whole world. That morning, I learned not to trust anyone. I burned the cabin to the ground and buried you." "How can I fix it?" he asks. She replies, "The way you did then. Go and don't turn around." "I can't leave you," he tells her. "But I can," she replies. She walks away. He calls "Reyyan, Reyyan, don't leave. I can't live without you." Interspersed with this scene is the earlier one at the cabin. This time, it's Reyyan who doesn't look back, as the episode ends.

Thank you for this terrific recap of this rather interesting episode Juanita! You caught some dialogue that I missed.

Azat is very unhappy that he heard this conversation. He walks away, mulling over the entire conversation. "Why did I have to hear it?" he asks himself. Um maybe if you didn’t stand listening to people’s confidential conversations you wouldn’t be in this situation. I was stunned that Zehra didn’t want to tell Reyyan the truth, I didn’t get her logic at all.

Miran just can’t catch a break, he goes into his room to rest and finds Gonul sleeping there! I was glad to see he could have a civilized conversation with her finally and once again tell her how he feels. We learned more about the forced marriage; it was three years prior! Crazy stuff. I also do not think Sultana is going to keep skirting or silent much longer about how Dilsah was treated. BG has some real issues keeping control of everyone. Her attempt to gaslight Gonul with her fake love made me want to puke. Glad Sultana was listening in.

How in the heck is Firat contacting Gul to set up Reyyan for a conversation? The prior incidents with Miran have been happenstance and in person but this little scheme was interesting. Did Firat call Melike to help set it up?

I give Reyyan credit for trying to move on in her life. Miran lying once again to her and not revealing he is married will come back to bite him in the you know what.

I do like how the writers are keeping tight with the storylines. When Reyyan came downstairs in the morning to ride Mavi, it was the same uplifting music as in the first episode. Using the burned cabin was also a great way for her to try and close the circle of pain and make Miran feel what she felt that fateful morning.

I am not sure who drove up to pick her up at the end of the cabin road, certainly is wasn’t her father or Azat. I did not recognize the blue car; it must be someone she trusts. Does Melike drive?

So much going on in this novela! Such a great recap Juanita! Thank you!

I will definitely be able to recap tonight’s episode.

MANY thanks, VVS, for your excellent comments. I loved your snarky response to Azat: "Um maybe if you didn’t stand listening to people’s confidential conversations you wouldn’t be in this situation." Yes! And I'm glad that you too were puzzled by Zehra's being opposed to Hazar's telling Reyyan that he isn't her bio dad. As I said in the recap, that whole issue seems to me way overblown, and Zehra's opposition struck me as especially puzzling.

You raise a good question about how Firat managed to arrange things with Gul. Telenovela Telepathy? (Also, I assume that Firat somehow supplied the money she claimed was from GT.)

Though I'm no fan of BG, I actually think her statement about loving Golun was genuine. I say this primarily because in a recent episode, when BG was alone, she went on at some length about how much she cared for Golun. (Even so, Golun is justified in feeling that BG is using her as a pawn, and perhaps justified as well in thinking that BG cares more for Elif and Miran.)

I'm very glad you raised the question about the blue car at the end. I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't see it. After reading your comments, I went back and looked again at the ending. Sure enough, for a second or two, there was a blue car. I think I must have been busy taking notes, and when I looked up, there was no blue car. Indeed, I wondered how Reyyan was going to get back, since she clearly wouldn't want Miran to give her a ride. I almost put a question about that in the recap, but it was almost 2 AM and I just wanted to get to bed. Oh well....

Again, many thanks for your great comments AND for your being willing to recap tonight's episode!

First, hats off to you recappers! Your recaps are excellent, not to mention the time it must take for you to clearly and concisely explain each episode! Many thanks! You guys bring up so many excellent points regarding these characters and their clear and hidden intentions. Like you Juanita, I honestly believe Azize loves both Elif and Gonul. I even believe that she has affection for Miran, but her need for revenge clearly outweighs all else. She has demonstrated that is capable of deep emotion and loyalty, even if that loyalty is to a bunch of dead folks who probably don’t give a damn about her hellbent revenge, lol. Azize needs an exorcism——for real! I’m also glad that Miran had a practical, based in reality talk with Gonul cause Gonul has been walking around in fantasy land for 3 yrs too long—— not that I think that she is ready to give up on him for even a nanosecond. I honestly feel bad for Miran cause his pain so palpable, even though he deserves every ounce of it. I, too, admire Reyyan for trying move on from her pain though Azat is not the answer—— not even a little bit.
Hazar rubs me—- just be a man and take the bull by the horns and tell Reyyan the truth and let the chips fall where they may. Reyyan is stronger than her fragile self looks, and will love Hazar no matter what. Then Reyyan will be able to make informed decisions in her life moving forward, and I pray, spit on Nasuh and rip out his beard!

Another gem, Juanita! Thanks so much for the very thorough and well-written recap.

You all might have heard me scream as Sultana saw BG lurking like a spider in the background and did not tell Miran the truth about the violence his mother received. Well, I don't think we're sure who inflicted the violence. It was BG who kept her locked up and "tortured" her which is what was said earlier on. I may be wrong but I think we're just assuming that BG's son Mehmet beat his wife. We know for sure that Sultana's husband was a wife beater.

And I'm also on my last nerve with Zehra for continuing to think a loveless marriage is better for her daughter than the truth about Hazar.

Yes, BG does love Gonul. But nothing in the entire world is worth more to her than getting even with the Sadoglu. I feel there's more to it than just Dilsuh not loving her precious son.

So I guess Miran is either dense and doesn't understand what Reyyan means when she asks him if he's confessed everything or he feels that the truth about his being married would drive her away forever. But what's driving her away is his denial that there's anything unsaid. Again, very frustrating she doesn't just yell at him: "What do you want from me? Is it for me to be your mistress while Gonul is your wife?"

I don't think Reyyan will actually marry Azat, but I can't guess what will prevent it.

I did not notice a car there to pick up Reyyan. Since Melike was involved in the plot to get Miran with Reyyan to explain his actions and the driver (is it Risa?) likes Melike, it could have been him at the wheel. I guess I just thought she was going to walk it.

Many thanks, carmella and novelera, for your astute comments. Carmella, welcome to the discussion! As VVS said yesterday, it's great to have more folks participating. I'm delighted that you're enjoying the novela and the recaps, and especially glad that you're adding your thoughts. I think you're absolutely right that Azize's "need for revenge clearly outweighs all else." And although I find it easy to identify her many faults, you do a great job of highlighting some admirable strengths, such as her being "capable of deep emotion and loyalty." I love the way you put it: "even if that loyalty is to a bunch of dead folks who probably don’t give a damn about her hellbent revenge, lol."

Novelera, you and I are definitely on the same page about Zehra's opposition to telling Reyyan the truth about Hazar. It makes so little sense. And I strongly suspect you're right about Azize's thirst for venganza being about "more than just Dilsuh not loving her precious son." I should also confess that I was relieved to know that I wasn't the only one who didn't see the blue car!

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #27
Part 1 of 6

Reyyan steadfastly walks away from Miran who calls to her, Reyyan, don’t do this to us! He remembers himself walking away telling himself not to turn around while Reyyan screamed his name, begging him not to leave her. Miran kneels on the ground exactly where he left Reyyan the morning the venganza began.

Reyyan gets into the car, it is Yaner who is driving. She bursts into tears as he looks at her sympathetically. The scene ends with a close up of Miran, saying again, please don’t do this to us. (This whole scene was cut by Telemundo. I needed to know who was driving the blue car so I watched the Turkish version and found out).

In the Sadoglu kitchen that evening, dinner preparations on underway. Gul is wearing the ring Azat gave Reyyan. Reyyan sits with her sister, looking very sad. Gul says that the butterfly ring Miran gave Reyyan was much prettier and made her feel like she had butterflies in her stomach when she put it on. This ring doesn’t do that. There are uncomfortable looks all around. Zehra tells Gul to give the ring back to Reyyan. She puts it back in the box and says she won’t wear it until after the wedding. Gul gives her a very, sad, sad face.

Hazar is sitting alone on the balcony as Zehra brings him some coffee. They talk again about the pros and cons of telling Reyyan the truth. Hazar is beside himself and does not want Reyyan to get married.

Cihan interrupts their conversation by being a jerk and telling them that they must be so happy to have Reyyan marrying Azat. Cihan calls out Hazar for not leaving the konak as he had planned and how he and his family are miserable! If Hazar isn’t going to leave, then Cihan is going to take Handan and Yaren far away. (Yes, please do).

GT overhears the conversation and breaks up the argument saying the he will keep his family under one roof! No one is going anywhere. He will not let the Aslanbey tear them apart! (But he is perfectly justified to plan a hit to take out Reyyan).

Hazar and Zehra leave the balcony and GT tells Cihan to stay. He whispers to Cihan not to leave, he has it all planned out! He has only one grandson (oh no you don’t you old goat) and he will never let him marry that girl! Reyyan will not live past the night of the henna ceremony.

We are taken back to a scene where GT met with the mysterious caller who is a hired assassin. His job is to kill Reyyan and make it look like suicide.

Azat and Yaner are standing on the rooftop, Azat is clearly upset. Yaner asks what is wrong, isn’t he happy about marrying Reyyan? Azat says he is very happy but he is torn because he learned of a secret and does not know if he should share it. It might mean losing the person you love forever if you share or living a lie if you don’t share. Yaner asks him to be more specific so he can help, but Azat says he cannot share any of it.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #27
Part 2 of 6

Miran is sitting in the Aslanbey courtyard looking even more miserable, remembering all the things Reyyan told him earlier in the day at the cabin site. Firat joins him and tells him that he did something today and needs to share it with him. Miran is stunned to learn that Firat went to talk to Reyyan. Firat is stunned to learn that after that meeting, she came looking for Miran.

Miran tells him what happened at the cabin. Firat tells Miran it is time to give her up. She lost all trust in him and he will not be able to recover from that, ever. Miran of course, disagrees, he says it is not over. Esma arrives and tells Firat that Azize is calling for him (yikes), she is in the study upstairs waiting. Esma gives Miran a sympathetic look but heads to the kitchen without a word.

Determined, Miran says to himself, if I speak the truth, she will believe, if I speak the truth, she will trust me. (Maybe you should have started by actually telling the truth Miran). He heads up to his room (gratefully no one is in his bed) and pulls out a wooden box filled with his Reyyan treasures. Inside the box with pictures, the ankle bracelet, the hair clip, is another box. Inside this box is a river rock. He pulls it out and says, with this you will listen, you will believe me. He takes the rock and rushes out the door.

Gonul is brushing her hair and Sultana enters the bedroom. Direct as always, she tells Gonul not to believe a word BG told her that afternoon. Gullible Gonul says she really felt that BG cares about her and loves her. Sultana is not moved by this and says Gonul cannot trust anyone but her mother. She is only one who has Gonul’s best interest at heart. (This remains to be seen). Sultana goes on about BG using Miran and Gonul to her benefit and power. She says, if you knew what evils your grandmother has committed in life, you would run immediately from this konak. Everyone is a puppet in her game, she is incapable of love. Sultana leaves and Gonul gets a call from none other than Yaren.

In the study, Azize waits for Firat. When he arrives, she says sit “son” and has him sit next to her. “Miran asked you to stop the asset seizure, didn’t he?” Hesitating, Firat says yes, he did. It is logical, says Azize, he knew I would not do it so he asked you. You are the rightful owner of those assets, she says. Excuse me? says Firat. Azize says, you have earned those assets with your hard work.

Azize continues that Firat is part of the Aslanbey family and in charge of all the money, this means he is loyal only to the family, specifically her, not Miran. She continues that Miran is a mess and Firat knows this. She needs him to be Miran’s head while his heart is in turmoil. He will continue to be in charge of the family assets and will confront Miran if necessary.

Firat asks her not to put him in this position, take the asset responsibility from him, he does not want to be in the middle. Nope, says Azize, I decide who is responsible and that is you. Do not defraud or betray me or you and your mother will suffer the consequences. She dismisses him with a nod saying get back to work.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #27
Part 3 of 6

Outside the door, waiting to strike, is Viper #2. Sultana grabs Firat’s arm and says we need to talk. Not phased, Firat says about what? Sultana moves him out of earshot of Azize and reminds him that regardless of the fact his owns all the Aslanbey fortune, he is merely the son of a servant (or maybe your son Sultana?). He will never be an Aslanbey (never say never) and to mind his place. Don’t worry says Firat, my mother and I know our place well.

He excuses himself and meets his “mother” Esma on the stairs carrying a tray of drinks. He tells her he has work to do. Esma and Sultana have a brief staring showdown as Esma moves on to Azize in the study. Oh to know what Esma knows!

Gullible Gonul leaves the konak and walks down the alley. Turning the corner, she encounters Yaren. Yaren is full of good news regarding the henna ceremony in two days! She stresses that this time it will be different because GT approved! She warns Gonul not to tell Miran anything because he could ruin everything in the two days left to go. Gonul is so happy! There is hope! (“I think that she is not ready to give up on him for even a nanosecond.” Thank you to our new patio partner, carmella! I so agree with you!).

A happy Gonul tells Yaren she totally owes her, yes anything, just tell me! Yes, you do, says Yaren with a friendly smile. I will let you know what that is soon. Gonul heads back inside while the despicable Yaren cackles about how stupid Gonul is. Somebody please, slap her.

Reyyan is sitting in a quiet kitchen with Melike hovering around. Reyyan doesn’t even respond when Melike teases her. Melike says, I know this has to be so hard for you. What are you even thinking? I know you are only thinking about Miran! Reyyan snaps at her saying, I told you not to talk about him again! Undeterred, Melike tells her why don’t you just confront him about being married and end this! He needs to know you know! (Viewerville all nod in agreement).

Reyyan says it wouldn’t matter if he was single, I would never go back to him after what he did to me! Melike finally agrees and offer to make tea. In comes Nigar, Yaner’s mother carry “the box” saying a young man dropped it off to give to Reyyan.

Reyyan opens the box and sees “the rock” with a note from Miran saying, “Stones have memories, if we forget, the stone remembers, don’t throw this one away, I am outside, waiting.”

We are taken back to a beautiful courtship memory where Reyyan is walking along a river path alone. Miran runs up behind her and grabs her hand. Stop, she says, why? he says. Aren’t we to be married in a week? You are my fiancé after all! I don’t care what people think, he says.

Reyyan says, I cannot believe my grandfather actually agreed! Miran says nothing. You know says Reyyan, this is my first time. First time? Says a confused Miran. Yes, she says looking down at their clasped hands, I have never been with anyone like this before. This is the first time someone held my hand.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #27
Part 4 of 6

For a few seconds, Miran looks ill, knowing what he is planning on eventually doing to her, she asks, did I say something wrong? No, not at all he responds. (Lie ever Miran?). They continue hand in hand down the path by the river. Reyyan steps and trips on “the rock.” Miran reaches to the ground, picks up the stone and starts to throw it in the river. No, don’t do that says Reyyan. You cannot throw away every stone I stumble on. Yes I can, says Miran. I will never let a stone hurt the person I care about. I will always clear the pathway for you.

I believe that, says Reyyan. I am so happy to finally be free, I won’t be locked up or scolded. No more worries. I know we will be happy together Miran (maybe in Turkish episode 69?). She smiles so trustingly. We will always walk together, right? Yes, says Miran. Promise? says Reyyan. Yes, I promise, says Miran. Then let the stone be the witness to this promise, she says, taking the stone from his hand. Stones have memory, she tells Miran, they remember who trips over them and who puts them back.

Then let the stone be witness, says Miran. Reyyan gives the stone back to him saying, you keep it in case you forget the promise, the stone will be your reminder. He kisses her cheek and she giggles. Putting the stone in his pocket, Miran looks sick. (As he should).

Back in the kitchen, Reyyan holds the stone saying, he promised. Melike says what is that stone all about. Reyyan walks out.

Miran is standing in full view of the entrance way of the Sadoglu konak, anxiously waiting for Reyyan and the stone. Instead, Hazar walks up the alleyway and sees him standing in the shadows. What the hell are you doing here? he yells at Miran. get out of here or I will kill you with my bear hands! Stop stalking my daughter!

Miran tells him he cannot leave; he has to see Reyyan. Hazar cannot believe his ears. You have to leave! He grabs Miran by the collar. Miran tells him, I did not know about the lien/seizure/embargo (whatever it is). Who cares! says Hazar. What matters is what you did to my family, to my daughter! I can see it in your eyes, you are drowning in your own evil, you cannot even smile, your eyes tell me you cannot sleep!

Miran says, let me speak with Reyyan one more time. Hazar walks away saying, I don’t know how you can be the son of Dilsah, she was the kindest person I ever knew. She would be ashamed and mortified of what you are and what you did! Miran grabs Hazar by the collar saying, don’t say my mother’s name!

A calmer Hazar says, when you find out the truth, what really happened, what they did to your mother, you will be 1000 times worse than you are now! Not even then will I forgive you. I will never forgive you, my daughter will never forgive you! There is no forgiveness for you Miran Aslanbey! Get out of my doorway and never return. (Never say never Hazar).

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #27
Part 5 of 6

Miran stumbles down the alleyway, suffers a panic attack and screams to the heavens, but no one answers. Reyyan stands on the balcony holding the stone. She lifts it to her heart and cries.

The next morning Miran arrives back to the Aslanbey konak. Gonul stares at him up the stairs but he just walks past her, never even acknowledging her, but she foolishly looks hopeful.

A distracted Reyyan is retuning from shopping with a happy looking Azat. She sees her parents but avoids, them heading upstairs. Another day passes. As night falls, Miran is roaming the streets. Firat catches up to him saying, brother are you ok? (Clearly not, Captain Obvious!). No, I am not okay says Miran, it has been days since I have seen Reyyan’s face, I am going crazy! I hope every day to feel better but I am worse. I am dying inside without her!

I just need her to understand, says Miran. Stop, says Firat. All of this must stop and you must forget about her and move on! No! shouts Miran. Quitting is not an option, ever! Firat gets stern with Miran and says, don’t you understand? This whole thing started with lies! You convinced her with lies! She is never going to forgive you! You need to admit to yourself that what you did was wrong and all a lie.

Yes, I do admit it, says Miran. But the first time I saw her it was real! I kept that hair comb hidden for years, but carried her in my heart even before I knew who she was! (If you haven’t seen the YouTube clip, that was cut by Telemundo, of a pre-venganza scene that dondi356 shared with us, now is a good time to do so as it shows us the first time Miran sees Reyyan apparently 3 years prior to this mess).

Cut to GT who is on the phone furious with the assassin who has yet to kill Reyyan. The assassin tells him that he has not been able to catch her alone. First she was with her sister and then with Miran. GT is furious to learn she has continued to see Miran, now she must really, really die!

Hazar and Zerah are in bed but not sleeping. Hazar is still very concerned about the upcoming events and wants to stop the wedding. Zehra reminds him that when they married, he was only saving her from a bad situation and he did not love her. Over the years he did learn to love her. The only difference with Reyyan is that Azat actually does love her. This logic seems to calm Hazar a bit. Suddenly, the power goes out.

Reyyan emerges from her bedroom with a candle, trying to figure out why the electricity is out. Someone puts a hand over her mouth, it is Miran. He says, so if rocks are witnesses, then let all the rocks in this konak hear me when I tell you that I have not lied. I have something that belongs to you.

He removes his hand from her face. Reyyan tells him she will scream if he doesn’t leave and he will be killed for entering the konak. Plus, he has nothing of hers, she does not belong to him. Go ahead and scream, says Miran. I don’t care if I die. He holds up the butterfly hair comb that Reyyan dropped and Miran picked up three years ago while visiting the Midyat museum.

What is this? She asks. Miran says, this is from the very first time I ever saw you. Reyyan recognizes the hair comb and says, this is mine, I lost it years ago. Where did you find it? Why do you have it? Miran says, you have always belonged to me, even before you ever met me.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #27
Part 6 of 6

Reyyan says, I was yours once Miran, but you taught me that I could not trust you. You want rocks to be witness? Then let all the rocks of this home hear this, you told me you would protect me, catch me when I stubbled. You are the rock in the road that made me fall Miran. I will fix this, says Miran, I will make you trust me again so you can look at me the way you did when we first met. Please, come with me.

Reyyan says and who will I be if I go with you? She pulls out the wedding picture of Miran and Gonul and hands it to him. Are you asking me to be your lover? Never, ever come back here again Miran. I am sick of all your lies. Let me be, go back to where you belong, to your home and your wife! (FINALLY!!)

Miran is stunned and can say nothing. He can only stare at the picture as Reyyan closes the bedroom door in his face. He leaves as she collapses on the floor in tears.

Esma is telling Azize about the conversation she overheard with Firat and Sultana. She says that Sultana told Firat he was not trustworthy. Azize says, Ugh, Sultana! Esma continues, Ma’am you obviously know the truth, but maybe you should remove the power of attorney from Firat. What are you saying? hisses Azize, you know very well that is not possible. (Oh my goodness, why and what is the truth??).

Esma says, you know that Sultana is not going to stop harassing Firat. Don’t worry, I know how to shut her up, says Azize. Firat will continue to have the power of attorney over all our assets, you take those thoughts out of your head and do not speak of this again. Esma nods in agreement.

Reyyan is back in bed, with the lights on staring at the dress she is going to wear for the henna ceremony. It is dark and matronly. She remembers the henna ceremony when she secretly met with Miran in her beautiful red dress.

Miran has arrived back at the Aslanbey konak. He is greeted by Firat who is still working in the courtyard. Miran yells for Gonul. What is going on? says Firat. Louder, Miran calls for Gonul. This brings out BG and Esma. What is wrong grandson? Asks BG. Sultana arrives and says what is going on Miran? Finally, Gonul shows up asking: Miran?

I am divorcing you Gonul, says Miran. The episode ends with his words, “I am divorcing you Gonul” reverberating in Gonul’s head.

VVS, thank you for an excellent recap of all the wheeling and dealing, fuming and fussing .

After reading some of The recaps for this show, I discovered last night that I actually do have Telemundo. I didn't think I did. Now I can put some faces to the name. Grandpa and Grandma are scary .

I have been watching " La Hija" on Univision and reading Dondi's spectacular recaps . The show fascinates me and frustrates me ..The love story of starcrossed lovers. Dondi' s insights into the Turkish culture are interesting to me since I have taught Turkish students .

However , "Hercai" is even more disturbing to me . Talk about intense people and evil grandparents ...yikes . I find the architecture fascinating .

Hello Susanlynn! I am so glad to have you on the Hercai patio today. Even better that you can now watch with the rest of us on Telemundo.

I know you are a long-time contributor on the Uni patio. I am still pretty new to the TN world and this is my first Turkish dizi (thank you dondi356). I agree with you, it is fascinating. Initially, I had a hard time with the cultural differences, especially the honor killing theme, I have managed to stay focused on the scenery, food and even the beautiful sheets on everyone’s bed!

I love the cinematography and the way facial expressions are used more than words. The writers were pretty good overall and there are very few cowhide beanie moments. 😊 Hope to see you more often and I look forward to your great insights. Oh and yes, dondi356 is a Rockstar!

Wow, VVS, I thought you were only going to put up a quickie, since this was an extra for you. Of course, I'm not complaining--¡para nada! It's a superb recap, complete with many wonderful asides. I had a moment of panic at the start. You mentioned that Yaner was driving the blue car, and that Reyyan got in and they drove off. I thought, "Oh no, did I again miss the blue car, even though this time it was apparently visible for more than a second or two?" My panic vanished, of course, when I continued to read and saw that you had consulted the Turkish version for a sequence that Telemundo had cut out.

I enjoyed your many asides, especially "If Hazar isn’t going to leave, then Cihan is going to take Handan and Yaren far away. (Yes, please do)," "(Clearly not, Captain Obvious!)," and "He needs to know you know! (Viewerville all nod in agreement)." And I loved Gullible Gonul! I think I'll add GG to BG and GT.

And yes, FINALLY!!!! I wish the website would permit putting letters in colors (I tried, but it wouldn't accept the "font" coding.) We've all be shouting at the TV for weeks if not months for Reyyan to tell Miran that she knows he's already married. I wouldn't be surprised if getting a divorce in Turkey is a pretty quick process for a Turkish male. Somehow, though, even if Miran divorces Gonul, I suspect he won't get Reyyan back so easily. After all, there are still umpteen episodes to go. :-)

Again, many thanks, VVS, for this terrific recap.

I plan on a more lengthy comment later, VVS, but I have a lunch meeting with a friend in a half hour. What I read of your recap was fantastic!

Por Fin!!! Reyen revealed she's aware of Miran's existing marriage. Like many on the patio I was wondering why she hadn't let him know she knew he was married already. And what is Miran thinking....it had to get out. No way would Gonul let him bring her back to that house a 2nd time without shouting to world Miran is her husband.

Wow...the thought of what Reyen has endured over the years as a black sheep in grandpa's eyes is sickening and sad. She didn't ask to be born. She was a baby when she was brought home and GT has hated and abused her every since and she has no idea why. There is no redemption for a foolish and evil man like him. I hope he gets an anvil and dies begging for forgiveness...and doesn't get it.

The patio is rocking today! Thank you Juanita, novelera, halima candy and Nett for the comments!

Juanita, I should have put a disclaimer right up front about that blue car because I was doubting myself based on you and others not seeing it. I took a page out of dondi356’s book and decided to take a peek at the Turkish version. Glad I did. I think Yaner is going to be a big part in the character line up. Hopefully not with Yaren! So glad Miran finally got his comeuppance from Reyyan. I guess she carried that photo with her everywhere, just to whip it out like that!

Halima candy, great to see you back on the patio!

Nett, I so agree with you about Nasuh getting his big, heavy anvil. He is horrible and only going to get worse I am afraid.

novelera, that you for popping in! I hope you enjoy your lunch!

Love, love, love your recap VVS! Simply terrific along with this equally terrific episode! I don’t even know where to begin with my thoughts on this one, but even so I have to say that Miran and Reyyan mesmerize me with both his inability to “stay away,” and her inability to get him to do so no matter how passionately driven her truth “hurts” him, cause OUCH——it hurts me! Besides being a stalker extraordinaire, the supposed security at the Sadoglu mansion seems to be working in cahoots with Miran! I mean, the Sadoglu and Aslanbey households seem to be paying way too much for no security at all! Everyone appears to come and go as they please, lol, even little Gul! What really gets me is that Reyyan IS pbetter off with Miran cause her daddy’s weak and her momma’s clueless! Where are Zehra’s maternal instincts regarding Nasuh? That man oozes hate! Poor Reyyan thinking that abuser finally accepts her! Yeah, right!

And yes, what is the deal with Sultana?!?! She’s been around Azize so long that she doesn’t even realize that she’s become an Azize mini-me! She’s almost reckless in challenging Azize every chance she gets. I do understand that she apparently has the “goods” on Azize, but Azize has all the power to make her disappear. So why does Azize keep Sultana around???

“Gullible Gonul,” lol, that she is, but I do feel sorry for her, much moreso than I feel for Azat even though their situations are so similar. I just think I really dislike all the men in this novela save Firat, and puppy eyes—-forget his name, Azat’s friend. Even Miran, with his fine self, is an entitled, overbearing, take no for an answer spoiled brat! He won’t even give Reyyan a chance to catch her breath! I can only imagine what Firat has had to put up with Miran all these years! All these men do is threaten with “I’ll kill you if you do this, or if you do that,” and beat and abuse women.....much to be desired imho......I know, I know——it’s a “cultural” thing 😩. And still, I’m hooked, lol....

Thanks again for your wonderful recap!

It is so great to have you with us carmella! I am glad you enjoyed the recap! I had fun writing it. Your comments are awesome! I too am totally mesmerized and a bit obsessed with the whole story line. Although a bit over the top, the acting is great overall.

Yaner is the name of the puppy-eyes, sensuous lipped son of Nigar one of the Sadoglu house servants. I like him too.

I struggled to keep liking Miran last night. He claims to have loved Reyyan for so long but yet was able to hurt her so much. Trust is a tough thing to ever regain. He is “an entitled, overbearing, take no for an answer spoiled brat!” I just keep telling myself, remember who raised him and for what purpose.

Sultana is the Azize mini-me, lol! I wish I had thought to use that one! I definitely think there is so much more behind the Sultana/Firat/Esma story for sure!

Like you, I am completely hooked!

Finally caught up. Thanks to Juanita for the Tuesday recap. It was very helpful.

What a complete and wonderfully snarky Wednesday recap, VVS! I enjoyed the read as much as the episode. Thanks so much. And thanks for the shout outs. I love Türk dizileri.

Susanlynn, it’s nice to see you here and it’s great that you found Telemundo. And thanks for your kind words about Embajador. I think there are a few other Embajador watchers here. Simliar themes.

Juanita, Reyyan’s horse is named Mavi, it means “blue”.

Looks like there’s a Elif/Azat pairing coming.

I think we got more hints that Firat is really an Aslanbey from his convos with Azize and Sultana. “Oh to know what Esma knows!”—I agree VVS.

Where the heck is that stinky, warty, Pasha’s son? He can’t arrive soon enough to take Yaren away.

“I know we will be happy together Miran (maybe in Turkish episode 69?)”—Ah, you are catching on, VVS. Let’s hope for a happy ending.

Aww, Reyyan is the only cure Miran’s panic attacks.

Yes, finally Reyyan tells Miran she knows he’s married and I’m wondering if Miran will be “allowed” to divorce Gonul at this point in the story.

About the music, Although the Spanish songs are beautiful, I’m very disappointed they are not keeping the original Turkish soundtrack. Ebru Şahin (Reyyan) sings a few songs and she has a lovely voice.

And although the translations seem ok, I am ticked about the editing.

I spend a good part of each episode laughing because this is so over the top, dizi tropey and soapy! And it’s made me a very bad person who is rooting for strokes and slaps. But I’m lovin’ it.

Glad to see we have an enthusiastic group. Welcome to the patio, Carmella!

Hey dondi356! I am getting annoyed with my work interfering with my novela watching these days! Glad you were able to get caught up. I think you and novelera are going to have some fun episodes to recap tonight and tomorrow.

What did happen to Yaren’s prometido?

Firat definitely is being set up by BG to clash with Miran at some point.

I did get a chance to listen to some of the music on the Turkish version, it was nice. I agree that the editing is lacking especially for key things like that butterfly hair comb.

Looking forward to the epi tonight!
