Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #40
Part 1 of 5

Sehriyar tells Gonul if she hadn’t been part of the high school prank with the dress, (thank you Lucio) she would have believed every word of Gonul’s acting. Well, says Gonul, I am not the granddaughter of Azize Aslanbey nor the daughter of Sultana Aslanbey for no reason.

Sultana comes into to the room and dismisses Sehriyar with a look. I came to console you Gonul, she says, but it looks like there is no need. I don’t even recognize you; you could say I wasn’t your mother and I would believe you. Gonul says, get used to it.

Driving down the road, Miran consoles Reyyan. Get rid of that sad face he says, it is over. It was awful, says Reyyan. Miran responds, I won’t let something like that happen again. Let’s not spoil our first night together as husband and wife. We are going to our new home and new life.

At the Country House, Handan is stuffing her face at the dinner table. Gul and Zehra come to the table and Gul chastises her aunt for not waiting for the rest of them before starting to eat. Hazar and Cihan join them, but the tension is high.

Cihan makes comments about Reyyan, Hazar gets upset and accuses Cihan of setting up the assassination attempt on Miran. Cihan denies it saying he doesn’t care what happened to Reyyan since she willingly married the enemy, but he does worry about Azat and if it comes to it, Azat’s life is all he cares about.

GT walks in and hears the argument, once again, he demands to know if Cihan was involved in the attempt to kill Miran. Cihan once again denies any involvement.

As Gonul is getting ready for bed, BG enters her room and tells her if she continues with the little games, she is certain to drive Miran away and lose her opportunity to find out more about her brother. Gonul is confident as she tells BG not to underestimate her, BG just shrugs in annoyance and leaves the room. Gonul says out loud, I will be the one to change the rules of the game and you will be left a bystander, BG.

Outside in the garden, Hazar calls “Ali” and tells him it is important to find the car that Miran was attacked in. I think Hazar wants to do some investigating.

In a silent montage of scenes, Reyyan looks miserable in the car with Miran, he sighs heavily. Hazar and Zehra sit on opposite sides of the bed looking concerned. Mr. Monopoly, aka GT, stares at the night sky twisting the worry beads in his hand as Azize, aka BG, does the same on her tower balcony. Not sure, but there is definitely some significance to this bead twisting of these two. (This scene was cut by Telemundo).

Back on the road with the two love birds (thanks RGV Chick), Miran stops in front of a lovely white, gated house. Our home, he says. Reyyan smiles slightly and says, our home. Miran touches her face and says, it is just us Reyyan, no one else. She smiles a bit more as they get out of the car. Miran tucks a gun in his back belt loop.

Smiling, he opens the gate and walks her into the small courtyard. I cannot believe the unimaginable is coming true, he says, but here you are, here we are. This is just a house, but the second you step inside you will give it life and meaning. This will be our home, a shelter from the rain, a place to watch the snow fall, a place to leave the troubles on the doorstep as we close the door to the world. Just us. We will be very happy here, he says, taking her hand and guiding her to the front door.

Part 2 of 5

Open the door, he says, with you, I have learned that a new life is possible. He hands her the keys. Reyyan opens the door to the house as Miran lovingly watches her reaction as she steps inside. The house is full of boxes and furniture. Miran tells her that tomorrow the crew will be there to finish unpacking and delivering the rest of the furniture. She can decorate any way she likes. Touching her hand, he says, I cannot wait to have our home decorated with your touch.

Concerned, because she has yet to utter a word, Miran asks, is everything okay? Do you like our home? She smiles and says, yes, it is lovely. This is where we will rebuild our fairytale, he says, the house will be our armor to protect us.

As Miran is saying these beautiful words, we see two black cars drive up in the reflection of the windows. At least six men get out of the cars with long rifles and Uzis. They begin to fire directly into the house, shattering windows, destroying the newlywed’s moment of very temporary hope and peace.

Miran grabs Reyyan and falls with her to the floor, protecting her with his body. The house is riddled with bullets. At the Country House, Zehra wakes up from sleep calling Reyyan’s name.

After what seems an eternity, the gunmen jump back in the cars and speed off. Miran looks at Reyyan who has lost consciousness. Reyyan, he says, Reyyan?? Miran is desperate, certain that he has lost her. For a few seconds this recapper is convinced she is mortally wounded, but then she wakes up after apparently fainting from fright.

Are you injured, he yells, are you hurt? Miran? She says, hugging him tightly, they are going to kill us, they WILL kill us! Calm, down please, pleads Miran. We will get out of here. Reyyan is terrified.

Back at Aslanbey konak, Miran, fortified by cars, men and guns lead by Firat, arrives at the front gate. He helps Reyyan out of the car, both look shaken.

Inside, BG is sitting in her nest, twirling beads and thinking: So, Miran Sadoglu, you thought you could put that love for Reyyan ahead of me? Well, I have now included it into the revenge game. What softens your heart, makes mine stronger with hate. You could not keep your heart strong, so I let Reyyan come between you and her family.

As she is thinking, Miran and Reyyan come into the courtyard. The vipers, plus Elif and Esma, are all in PJ’s waiting, clearly having learned what occurred. BG stares down from the second story balcony. She thinks back to all the things she did to set up Miran and keep him from leaving.

At the cemetery scene with the Mari/Dilsah butterfly, Miran tells his mother that he will give up on everything except Reyyan. BG was listening from a tree several feet away out of sight from Miran. She says, I have waited years and years for my revenge and you are not going to ruin it by loving.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #40
Part 3 of 5

She remembers setting up Azat in the town square by filtering the information to the guard and then calling someone to tell the Turkish Principle, aka, Hasmet Aga, what happened with the gun being drawn by Azat on Gonul, saying to ensure he knows that the Aslanbey will not take that aggression lying down and Hasmet must do his duty.

At the meeting with Hasmet, Nasuh refuses to negotiate a marriage between Miran and Reyyan and leaves in a huff. Azize remains as Hasmet says, this is very bad for the both of you. What do you plan to do? Azize tells him sweetly, well now it is really up to Reyyan to fix this.

We are taken back to yet another “set up” memory from BG, as she sits talking to Esma the night of the meeting with Hasmet, telling her that Azat will have to die. As Esma leaves and the shadow of Sehriyar scampers away, BG laughs evilly, saying yes, go spy and tell Handan Sadoglu everything, so I can ensure Reyyan will come on her own.

In another memory, Miran is telling BG that he will talk to Hazar and apologize if necessary. As he leaves, she makes a call, saying to ambush Miran at the first intersection. They are to make it look like he is dead, but shoot so that not a hair on his head is injured. (OMG, this woman is beyond evil). As we watch the repeat of Miran getting ambushed, she thinks, Would Reyyan have come willingly on her own if I hadn’t put your life at risk?

Next memory scene, Miran tells everyone that he and Reyyan are to be married and will live in their new house to start their new life. The day of the wedding, BG is talking to the Hunky Bar Bodyguard (HBB), telling him to get a group of men together, wait for Miran and Reyyan to enter their new home and then attack them.

Even HBB is confused, saying, but what if they are killed? Well, says Azize, they will either return to this konak on foot or in a coffin. If they live, the game continues, if not, then my Aslanbey grandson (Firat??) will continue my revenge.

Back to the courtyard, BG stares down at Miran and Reyyan. She thinks, if I had not threatened to kill your loved one Miran, you would never have return to this konak. I did it Miran, I reinstalled the game! I made your love a comrade to revenge, I brought Reyyan to you and you to the konak! Now here you are, you will destroy your own father and family. Your hell is just beginning. (Recapper pauses to take a shot of tequila to steel her nerves and continue).

During the Azize memory lane of lies and horrors, it seemed as if all time stopped. (The well timed commercial interruptions helped) Suddenly, we are moving again. Esma, Elif and Gonul rush to Miran and Reyyan asking if they are okay. Firat is in deep conversation with HBB, clearly trying to figure out what might have happened. BG comes flying down the stairs immediately jumping down Miran’s throat with the “I told you so’s.”

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #40
Part 4 of 5

I told you the Sadoglu’s would not leave you in peace out there alone! The only way we stay safe is together, under one roof! She glares at Reyyan up and down. Then phony baloney says, I am glad neither one of you were hurt.

Reyyan suddenly gets weak in the knees and Miran helps her to one of the patio seats. Esma sends Sehriyar for water. The entire time BG is still in Miran’s ear until he tells her to shut her damn mouth. Elif pipes up saying why would the Sadoglu’s attack knowing Reyyan was with them (clearly, she has not met GT)? Do we have other enemies?

There are no other enemies other than the Sadoglu, says BG. Hazar Sadoglu is a murderer and the rest of the family scum. This brings a reaction from Reyyan, she stands and faces the beast, saying, my father is not a murderer! Really, says BG. How about all the times your father and grandfather sent you to die! If it hadn’t been for Miran, you would be dead!

Then the vipers start in on Miran. Miran shouts for them all to shut up! (We do too). BG just keeps going on and on about the never-ending vengeance in the Sadoglu family. She says Miran is lucky his family continues to forgive him. She tells HBB to ready the cars and men, she is heading out to retaliate against the enemy.

Reyyan tells Miran to stop her. He yells, stop grandmother! I will take revenge; I will not let this go unpunished. BG looks pleased, but Reyyan isn’t. What Miran? says Reyyan. Miran tells her that had the second attack been just on him, he would stop, but she is now his family and responsibility. He knows that those people want her dead and he will not allow it, nor will he let her stop him. He attempts to head out but Reyyan stops him by standing in front of him and the door.

They argue back and forth, she begging him not to go, he telling her he must go. She is afraid he will be killed and then what? He says she was almost killed tonight in the ambush! Their new home was almost their tomb of death. He will not let that happen again! Without Reyyan, there is no Miran. He heads out the door as Reyyan collapses. Rushing back in, Miran carries her up the stairs to his room for the second time in this dizi.

Esma and Elif follow. Miran wants to call a doctor but Esma tells him Reyyan just fainted from all the stress of the day. She gives Miran a cloth with something to put on Reyyan’s neck and forehead. Reyyan regains consciousness.

Miran, she says, did you send your men? No, I didn’t. I don’t want to do anything else to upset you today, he responds. Of course, BG cannot let it go and yells for Miran. He asks Esma to watch Reyyan until he returns.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #40
Part 5 of 5

Now on the upstairs patio outside of Miran’s room, BG continues her insistence on revenge and revenge now on the Sadoglu. An angry Miran says, no can do, I promised my wife. This of course irritates the heck out of BG and she launches in to her, “but your parents” speech.

Miran wants to know after 27 years, why is BG is such a rush now? Because I am! She snaps. You let love soften your heart and forget your life mission! I don’t have that kind of time. (Fingers crossed). I won’t let them hurt Gonul or Elif because you have gone soft.

BG says she will not let her dead child and “bride” wait any longer just because Miran wants to change the rules of the game and doesn’t want the child of the enemy to shed tears. I have waited 27 years and if you aren’t up to the task, I will do this myself. She stomps off to her room. Miran once again looks torn and confused.

Reyyan jumps out of bed just as Miran returns to the room. Reyyan, he says, you need to be resting. No, Miran, I need to see my mother. She is going to freak out when she hears about what happened. Miran tells, Esma that he has got it covered and she leaves the room.

Reyyan, he says, if they had heard, we would know, I promise tomorrow you can see her, but now we need to rest. He tries to guide her back to the bed, but she sits in the chair saying, I won’t be able to sleep anyway. She leans into the headrest of the chair and closes her eyes. Miran gets a blanket off the bed and covers her, she says “thank you.” For what? asks Miran. For stopping, she says.

BG is sitting in her room twisting those worry beads and thinking: Life has order, so Miran, you want to change that order and the game? This game is all about order, one thing at a time. It is impossible for you to change it Miran, I will clue you in one piece at a time.

Reyyan wakes up and sees Miran sitting but asleep against the footboard of the bed. She thinks about the beautiful things Miran was saying about their new life and new home right before the bullets started flying.

She pulls the blanket around her shoulders and walks out to the patio and then up the stairs to the roof top of the konak. She starts to watch the sunrise, but in her head, she hears BG’s vicious words about her father and family.

Miran wakes from a dream as he relived the nightmare of the assassination attempt in their new home. He looks around the room, not seeing Reyyan, he panics and rushes out to the patio, yelling, Reyyan, Reyyan! The episode ends.

Hi all! Hope you enjoy the recap from the episode last night. My schedule will allow me to recap the Wednesday night episode this week as well. Have a great day!

HERC

VVS, a very enjoyable recap indeed. You made this very disturbing episode bearable with your sides...I wish I had some of that tequila you had because a sweet cocktail just wouldn't have been strong enough!

I know we all had suspected BG was behind everything, but the house incident was just too much, especially when her response to HBB was "...they will either return to this konak on foot or in a coffin. If they live, the game continues..." This monster's evil is beyond comprehension! She has one big black coal where everyone else has a heart.

"BG is sitting in her room twisting those worry beads" Worry beads is a good way to describe those. I know they are supposed to be prayer beads, but in BEG's (Big Evil Grandma) case, it doesn't make sense that she would be praying...unless it's to the devil.

herc

Thank you Rgv Chick, for the early comments. I was horrified when I watched the love nest get riddled by bullets. I thought Reyyan and Miran would have a little time to enjoy each other! I am a TN watching novice and this is my first dizi, but BG or BEG, is the worst villain I have ever seen. The writers of the story had some real brilliance or real personal issues.

I agree, BG has coal as a heart for sure and any prayers are not for any good, just evil.

As much as I enjoyed your recap VVS, I was still getting angry as I read it! Last night's episode made me almost give up on this drama! At least for a week, lol! I honestly had to mute the volume cause I'm really sick of all the yelling and crying! I was angry at the 30 seconds of peace Miran and Reyyan had before all hell broke loose again! I'm so done Azize's evil azz that I could just spit rocks! Im sick of Gonul, Sultana, Handan, Cihan and whatever Yaren is in the process of plotting! These people are truly twisted and whatever brillant mind created these characters must be twisted as well. I need balance---- at least a little bit!

I wish God would strike Azize with a debilitating ANYTHING!

Still enjoyed your recap VVS! Maybe I should just stick to recaps for a while!

herc

Hey there carmella! I am glad to hear I wasn’t the only one who felt angry with this episode. Will we ever get any “loving” time for Miran and Reyyan? I was hoping for at least a nice sleep-in bed thing, like we witnessed earlier at the hotel in Urfa, at their new casa. BG is definitely planning this Venganza well. Her thoughts expressing the threats to Miran were chilling.

I wish God would strike Azize with a debilitating ANYTHING! Here, here carmella!

I am holding on for something positive or for someone to slowly chip away at BG. Maybe it could be Gonul? Or maybe Elif just says the heck with this and marches out of the konak straight into Azat’s waiting arms. Miran is just too indoctrinated.

herc

Many thanks, VVS, for this terrific recap. Great details and terrific snark. My favorite was "I don’t have that kind of time. (Fingers crossed)."

So now we see all our assumptions confirmed about Azize being behind just about everything evil. I loved your referring to "the Azize memory lane of lies and horrors." It will be interesting to find out what started her obsessive thirst for revenge. I doubt that she emerged from her mother's womb yelling "¡Venganza!" Then again, perhaps she did! :-)

One thing in your recap puzzled me. You say that BG says to Mahmoud that if Miran and Reyyan return in their coffins, "then my Aslanbey grandson (Firat??) will continue my revenge." When I was watching, I thought she said "granddaughter" rather than "grandson." I just went back to my recording and listened again. It still sounded to me as if she said "nieta" rather than "nieto." I remember thinking that she was referring to Gonul. Of course, I have no idea what she actually said in Turkish--did the Turkish version translate that to be "grandson"?

I must confess, I'm not looking forward to recapping tonight's episode. Oh well.... Perhaps everyone will be all shrieked out from Monday's episode. One can hope.

herc

Hi Juanita, I think you will definitely have an exciting episode, hopefully a little bit calmer. All the shrieking and yelling is a bit confusing and tiresome.

I appreciate your astute listening skills regarding the Azize “in her head” discussion. I rechecked also and the Telemundo CC has granddaughter in Spanish, the Peacock CC in English says grandson and the Turkish version translated to English also has grandson.

In my thought process as I wrote the recap, it seems to me that Azize would have referred to Gonul or Elif by name if she was talking about them carrying on the venganza, but she referred to the “grandson” Aslanbey. Hopefully this isn’t some big reveal I messed up being lost in translation.

I doubt that she emerged from her mother's womb yelling "¡Venganza!" Then again, perhaps she did! :-) Oh I think she did, Juanita! I am so curious to know what twisted her mind to this level of evil.

I look forward to your recap!

herc

Thanks very much, VVS, for checking on the different translations. I listened to the Spanish, and it sounded as if Azize said "nieta Aslanbey," with the "a" in "nieta" eliding into the "A" in Aslanbey. But I think I'd trust the translation provided by the Turkish version more than the dubbed Spanish, so if the Turkish version translates it as "grandson," then that's probably what Azize said. Hmmm...perhaps dondi356 has listened to it in Turkish and can settle this even more definitively.

There's one more point I meant to make about last night's episode. Reyyan goes on and on about how she has to see her mother and reassure her that's she's OK. Why doesn't she just call her and talk to her? I know she feels that her mother wants to see her, not just talk to her, but given all the serious problems trying to get together with her mother would involve, surely a phone call would reassure Zehra without endangering anyone.

Herc

Thanks so much VVS. This was a marvelous recap! Really enjoyed your asides. “memory lane of lies and horrors” and Elif “(clearly,…has not met GT)” Azize: “I don’t have that kind of time. (Fingers crossed).”

Shout out to you, Juanita, “I doubt that she emerged from her mother's womb yelling "¡Venganza!" Then again, perhaps she did! :-)”

The devil could take evil lessons from Azize. Did anyone mention Azize on the “Toxic Mothers” page? Do grandmother qualify?

The hysterics are overwhelming. A little goes a long way. My mind starts to wander.

I know that Reyyan is not allowed to see her family but does that extend to phone calls, too?

About the translation: Turkish has no gender specific nouns like Spanish has, so many translations are determined by context. The word that Azize used “torunum” translates to “my grandchild” She did not add the extra word “erkek” to make it grandson or “kız” to make it granddaughter. And in this case it would make sense for Azize to be vague about gender. Miran is supposed to be her only grandson, correct?

dondi356

herc

Here come some digital bouquets thrown at you, VVS! What a fine recap! These writers surely know how to yank the hope rug out from under Viewerville, don't they? I also thought the two newlyweds would have at least one night of peace.

They decided to show some scenes from BG's twisted mind to fill us in on all she'd done. I didn't remember the exact scene where Miran told his mother's grave he was going to love Reyyan no matter what. But having BG come out from behind the tree like an evil toad was chilling.

Big surprise. She told Gonul she was going to tell her about her brother if she let the wedding happen. And, of course, she welched on it.

Hear! Hear! on needing some good tequila to press on with the black deeds.

Your recap enlightened me about something Miran said. VVS, you wrote that Miran said he knows the Sadoglu want her dead. Yes, he does know that and doubtless thinks it was GT who arranged the attack. I think he may have seen enough of Hazar's feelings for Reyyan to doubt he'd put her at risk.

I can't imagine what punishment they'll come up with for this evil monster. It better be good!

Juanita, even though you said you doubted it, I loved the image of newborn Azize shouting ¡Venganza! right after she shoots out of the womb. She definitely shot out rather than slowly emerged!

herc

Thanks so much dondi356 for the comments and for clearing up the translation issue with Juanita’s astute catch.

Now I really don’t understand what Azize was trying to tell Mahmoud, but agree that she wasn’t being specific. My guess is Mahmoud knows all Azize’s dirty little secrets, so maybe she was referring to her “other” supposedly dead grandson.

I think Azize does qualify for the Toxic Mother’s page as she has been “mother” to the three orphaned grandchildren.

Hercai: Amor y venganza - #41 - p 1 de 3

The episode starts with Miran again yelling Reyyan's name in an attempt to find her. Reyyan responds. They come together and hug. Miran tells her, "I was so scared, scared of your being hurt, of losing you." Reyyan replies, "I don't know what to do, how to end this." Miran says, "I do. When I'm with you, I feel strong, nothing is difficult." He takes the blanket that Reyyan had wrapped around herself and wraps it around the two of them, as their theme music plays. They stand together, looking out over Midyat, as Gonul looks up at them from below, clearly unhappy.

Hazar and Zehra are in Gul's room. She's asleep. Hazar tells Zehra, "Reyyan told me she loves Miran, that she's where she wants to be." Gul wakes up and says "good morning" to her parents. She wants to ride her bicycle. They try to convince her to have breakfast first, but Gul's wishes prevail. She tells her parents to cover their eyes, and she leads them outside to see the two bicycles drawn on the wall, hers and Reyyan's. She asks her father to lift her up on the wall, and she then starts to move her legs as if she's pedaling. "Reyyan told me it's important to keep pedaling. It may look like I'm not moving, but you can go wherever you can imagine." Hazar and Zehra realize that this was how Reyyan said goodbye to Gul.

Melike and Riza are buying groceries. Riza goes to pay, and Melike hears him say, "Reyyan and Miran?" He comes out, clearly unnerved. Melike asks what's wrong. He tells her that Reyyan and Miran were attacked last night. Their house was shot up. Melike is immediately upset. Riza assures her that Reyyan is fine. "Are you sure?" she asks. "I need to hear her voice." She calls. Reyyan answers. Melike blurts out, "Oh God, I was afraid you were dead!" Reyyan assures her, "We're safe. Nothing happened." (Nothing?) She pleads with Melike to say nothing about this to her parents. Melike says, "Let them see you before they find out."

Meanwhile, BG (Bad Granny) (let's change that to HAG, Horrible Awful Granny) is having one of her rants, this time because Gonul and Sultana have left the mansion without permission. "How do they expect me to protect them?" she asks. (If they have any sense, they don't expect her protection.) Gonul's driver says that he took them to the cemetary. HAG tells Esma she'll be in her room, and Esma should let her know when Miran brings them back.

Nasuh asks Gul what she's doing. She tells him she's building a house. She says she's angry at Miran. "He promised he'd get our house back, but he didn't." Though she's angry with him, she also misses him and Reyyan.

Yaren is having a hissy fit in her locked room. Her mother comes to see her. Yaren pleads with her mother to let her out, but Handan but tells her she must stay in her room until she learns how to behave. Handan then leaves and closes the door. Yaren hears a noise on the other side of the door. She then realizes that the door is unlocked. She opens it and finds her mother lying on the floor outside the door. She yells for Cihan, and the two of them manage to get her up. She claims that her head hurts. They take her to the hospital.

Elif comes to see Reyyan, bringing with her some clothes, since she knows Reyyan didn't bring any. She expresses sympathy for Reyyan and urges her not to give up. "Your love for Miran will wipe away the past," She tells Reyyan not to worry that Miran went to get Gonul, he did so because it's so dangerous right now. Reyyan informs her that she's not worried about Miran going for Gonul. What worries her is her parents.

herc
Hercai: Amor y venganza - #41 - p 2 de 3

Reyyan doesn't want her parents to hear second-hand about the shooting at the house. She wants to see them and have them see her. Elif asks, "What happens if you get hurt?" Reyyan tells her that Miran was going to take her to see them, but instead he went to get Gonul. Of course, HAG arrives just as Reyyan is saying this. HAG spews more hateful things about Reyyan and her family. She concludes with "Don't forget that your family tried to kill you."

Gonul and Sultana are at the cemetary. Gonul is kneeling on the ground and touching a large rock that seems to be the marker of her brother's grave. She says, "I want to reunite with my brother. I thought he was just a scar on my mother. They say you've never spoken. They think you've never slept or dreamed. But I know you grew up, that you're alive. However long it takes, I will find you. No matter what Azize does, I will find you." She then looks at her father's tombstone and addresses her dead father. "You were my hero, until I found out about my brother. How could you do that to us, Papa? I don't know how, but you did. Now you're nobody to me." (I think we don't yet know all that she's referring to. At least, I don't.)

Sultana is standing at some distance from Gonul. She says, "Children without parents are called orphans. But what do we call parents who have lost children?" Miran arrives and sees Sultana. He asks, "Are you alright?" She replies, "One of my children is in his grave, and the other is suffering. And you ask if I'm alright?" Miran then asks Gonul why she didn't say she wanted to come to the cemetary, he would have taken her. She replies, "You're so preoccupied with your new wife." He assures her that she and her mother are under his protection.

At the hospital, Handan needs to have a blood test. Cihan give Yaren her mother's purse to hold. Never missing a trick, Yaren tells him she can't stand the sight of blood, and she asks whether she can wait outside. Cihan says yes. Yaren heads outside, removes her phone from her mother's purse, and calls Azat. As soon as he answers, she starts pretending to cry. Between sobs, she tells Azat that Reyyan has married Miran. She claims that they wanted to wait until Azat was out of the way. Having delivered her boombshell message, she hangs up.

Azat is sitting with Yaner. He tells Yaner what Yaren told him, and then in a rage pulls the table cloth off the table, sending all the dishes to the ground. "I'm going to see for myself. Reyyan owes me an explanation!"

Yaner tells the guards outside the place Azat is staying that he has to run an errand and will be right back. They let him leave. He takes the car and drives to where Azat is waiting (having gotten out some other way). Azat gets behind the wheel and the two of them drive off.

At the hospital, Handan complains of being dizzy all day and fainted. The doctor assures her there's nothing to worry about: she's pregnant! Cihan looks stunned, and then delighted. Handan doesn't share his enthusiasm. "Having children is for newly-weds. It's embarrassing!" Cihan asks what's so embarrassing. "Your husband loves you and is at your side." He then says, "If it's another boy, we won't need anything more." He goes on to say that they were too young when they had Azat, he didn't have time to play with him, he was too focused on work. But now, if it's a boy, he'll play soccer with him. Handan says, "And if it's a girl, you'll play soccer with her, too." Cihan then announces, "It doesn't matter whether it's a boy or a girl, as long as it's healthy." Yaren now comes up to them and asks what the doctors have said. Neither Handan nor Cihan answers immediately. (Instead, we have several minutes of commercials.)

Hercai: Amor y venganza - #41 - p 3 de 3

Hazar and Nasuh are discussing the attacks for which they're being blamed. Hazar tells his father, "We can't resolve this by increasing security or hiding the family. Neither we nor Azat can live like that. We didn't attack the Aslanbey, but we should find out who did." Nasuh disagrees. "What does it matter? We can't go after them because of the Aslanbey. Azize blames us for everything. That's part of her plan." Hazar replies, "We can't wait for the guilty to be identified. We must find them and make the Aslanbey clear our name. Last night, I was able to make out one of them..." His statement to his father is interrupted by Gul announcing the arrival of her uncle Cihan.

Cihan announces that Handan is pregnant. Everyone is surprised. Most people offer congratulations and good wishes. Hanife's first response, however, said under her breath, is "Still procreating like rabbits--at that age!" Nasuh announces that the pregnancy is a sign from God. "Our enemies want to destroy the Sadoglu family, but we are increasing." Nasuh tells Gul that she's going to have a new playmate. She tells him that if she can't play with her sister, she won't play with anyone. Zehra offers Handan warm wishes for a healthy baby, and Handan replies, "We're praying for a loyal child."

Cihan then says to Nasuh, "We named Azat after Handan's grandfather. With your blessing, if it's a boy, we'd like to name him after you." Nasuh agrees and blesses Cihan and Handan. He says, "I hope he gets to see his own grandhildren as well."

Yaren is trying again to get through to Azat, fearing that perhaps her message wasn't strong enough. She says, "Azat, burn that mansion down and get Reyyan out of there." But Azat isn't answering his phone. "OK, they asked for it," she says. "Let's kill two birds with one stone." She calls Firat. She again goes into high drama mode. "Please help me," she pleads. My brother is on his way. Please protect him." Firat is skeptical. "If this is another of your games, Yaren..." She convinces him that Azat is really on his way. Firat says he'll take care of it. After the call ends, Yaren says, "Now you will see, Reyyan, that your nightmare is just beginning." (I'm not sure how this is killing two birds with one stone.)

Riza is increasingly troubled at not having told Hazar about the attack on Miran and Reyyan. "What if the Aslanbey attack?" Riza asks."We must be prepared." He goes off to find Hazar, and a reluctant Melike runs after him. She apparently leaves her phone behind, and hence doesn't see that Reyyan is trying to call her. Riza finds Hazar with most of the rest of the family. Lacking diplomatic skills, Riza simply tells Hazar, "It's about your daughter. Reyyan and Miran were attacked." Zehra, of course, immediately faints. Hazar seems to go into a trance. Both Nasuh and Cihan try unsuccessfully to bring him out of it.

Yaner is trying to convince Azat of the extreme danger of his plan to see Reyyan. "Think about it. We won't make it out of there alive." Azat replies, "Get out of the car! If you're so scared, get out of the car!" Yaner persists: "We're not going to the market. We're going to the Aslanbey. Don't expect a warm welcome." Azat declares, "I'm going to rescue Reyyan, and neither you nor my grandfather nor Miran will stop me." And with that, the episode ends.

Great recap Juanita! thank you! I’m with you on HAG! Azize certainly is! Add “NAG” to that mix cause she’s undoubtedly nagged poor Miran ( and Gonul and Elif) into believing her lies. She turns into an UBER nag when she feels like she’s losing ground with Miran. How she must hate him, too, knowing he’s a Sadoglu? And does she really hate Reyyan, knowing she’s not? Sometimes I look into Azize’s lovely eyes and really feel sorry for her. But then her face morphs into that twisted, sardonic, evil smile, and I’m over it, lol. Is she even capable of love?

At least Gonul now has something else to focus on, her brother. I hope she throws herself into that venture wholeheartedly and eases away from Miran until she forgets that she ever loved him in the first place. As much as I see an Elif and Azat pairing, I’m still rooting for Gonul and Azat. Much more fire and passion, methinks, lol.

Hopefully Handan will be a much nicer pregnant person and grow from there. It’s kinda nice to know that there is some loving going on with her and Cihan, so maybe they will both change into better people? There’s no hope for Yaren, pretty girl, but dark to the bone!

As for Reyyan’s parents, “Zehra faints—— yet again, and Hazar has obviously entered the “twilight zone,” lol. I just can’t with those two!!

I love Azat, but he’s just as impulsive and hot headed as Miran! They’re definitely first cousins!

Thanks again Juanita! Your time and attention to detail is much appreciated!

Perfect recap Juanita for this seemingly transitional episode. Glad you didn’t have too much drama to deal with.

I am “all in” to change Bad Granny (BG) to Horrible Awful Granny (HAG)! After the Monday episode, she deserves the upgrade, plus it is more than fitting.

I really thought the roof top scene with Reyyan and Miran watching the sunrise was nice. At least Miran felt a little care and love from Reyyan when she offered him the blanket to wrap around himself. The Spanish theme song is beautiful and I didn’t mind that the Turkish one, also nice, was replaced this time. The sunrise scene was a tiny, little ray of hope for the love birds, until Gonul and her scowl ruined it.

Thank goodness for Elif, she is another ray of hope. I also was confused with the cemetery scene Juanita. Maybe Gonul is angry about what her father did to cause her brother’s “death” and Sultana’s pain?

Handan, pregnant? Well, that was an interesting twist. Yaren continues her crazy plans to try and separate Reyyan and Miran. I have no idea what two birds she was trying to hit with the call to Firat.

Azat and Gonul sure have that clear the table by yanking the table linen to the floor down pat. I feel bad for the servants who have to clean up everyone’s emotional breakdown messes.

Riza sure doesn’t know how to break bad news. Just a quick reversal of “Reyyan is fine but”…would have worked. Of course, the overacting actors would be robbed of another over the top performance.

I am certain there will be lots of yelling and screaming tonight if Reyyan insists on seeing her parents and Azat makes it into the Sadoglu konak.

Thank you Juanita, I appreciate the recap!

carmella, I just read your great comments. I had to laugh about Azat and Miran being hot heads because I never thought about them being first cousins! Thanks for the obvious reminder!

Thanks very much, Carmella and VVS, for your insightful and helpful comments. Carmella, yes, NAG certainly fits Azize. I suppose we could combine NAG and HAG into HANG, which is what I'd love to see happen to her, but it doesn't describe her as much. As for a Gonul and Azat match, I'm not sure. Each of them certainly has LOTS of passion and fire, but I'm not sure they have it for each other. And frankly, I like Azat a lot more than I like Gonul. She's certainly a victim of HAG/NAG, and so I feel sorry for her, but I really don't like her. Elif, OTOH, does seem to have strong feelings for Azat, and I do like her. She and Azat seem a much better match, assuming they make it through to the end of the novela, by no means a sure thing.

VVS, I'm glad you agree about BG's "upgrade" to HAG. And I'm rather relieved that you, too, aren't sure about how Yaren's call to Firat may set in motion killing two birds with one stone. I wondered whether I was just being obtuse (it's been known to happen). You often see more than I do, so if you are puzzled, there's something puzzling going on. As for the scene at the cemetary, I had a thought similar to yours, but I wasn't sure it fully accounts for Gonul's saying "How could you do that to us, Papa? I don't know how, but you did." Perhaps it simply refers to his terrible abuse of Sultana, resulting in her baby being stillborn. However, since Gonul now knows/believes that her brother wasn't stillborn and is alive, it would seem that she's referring to something else, perhaps some way in which her father (and HAG) spirited away the newly born baby when Sultana was unconscious. Just a guess. As for your delightful remark about "the overacting actors," they have and take so many opportunities for over the top performances, a few less wouldn't hurt, IMHO. :-)

Excellent recap, Juanita! Thanks so much.

VVS beat me to saying that Reyyan grasped an end of that blanket and offered it to Miran so he would not be cold on the high balcony.

HAG was the one who guilted Miran into finding Sultana and Gonul. The expression on Reyyan's face said it all. She's now living in a hell hole. And she doesn't come first since he left her with her request to see her parents barely out of her mouth. And what about what HAG said about her never seeing them again?

I'm thinking they might have cut a scene where Gonul finds out her father was brutal. I vaguely remember Sultana saying something about her husband (Ahmet?) having beaten or kicked her, causing her to go into labor. And she was told the baby was dead. I don't remember Gonul ever finding out her father caused anything.

Last night was the first time I liked Cihan. His joy over the pregnancy was very nice to see.

Yaren, ugh! She said her mother's pregnancy was disgusting, in sort of a low voice. And how does she think Azat going there would get HER into Miran's life. Unless now all she cares about is hurting Reyyan. And she's willing to send her brother into the hornet's nest so she won't have to endure Miran and Reyyan being together? Handan, hurry up with the full backhand once again!

Herc

Interesting enough it is Hadan and not Reyan that is pregnant. During the early days when Miran first left her...was thinking he could have left her preggars...especially with the recent fainting spells. But alas it is Handan and not her. Good because Nasuh would have harped on that to no end....and still beat her down despite her being with child. Interesting twist.

Thanks very much, novelera and Nett, for your great comments.
Novelera, thanks to you and VVS for pointing out that Reyyan offered Miran an end of the blanket to wrap around himself so he wouldn't be cold. And yes, the scene in the cemetary seems to suggest that something was cut. I remember Sultana telling Gonul (I think) about her husband's vicious abuse. She even raised her blouse to show the scar on her belly. But Sultana didn't know her son was alive (since she wasn't reading our theories on the patio). HAG apparently told Gonul that her brother was alive and used that as bait to get Gonul to do what she (HAG) wanted, such as sign the divorce papers. But somehow Gonul's words at the cemetary seemed to suggest further knowledge that she has and we don't. Whether that comes from a cut scene or something yet to be revealed isn't clear. BTW, I LOVED your "Handan, hurry up with the full backhand once again!" YES! (Back in my high school years, we had an unenlightened cheer for the football team that went "Hit 'em again, hit 'em again, harder, harder." Every time Handan slaps Yaren, I mentally recite that cheer. No, I guess I'm not a nice person. But I'm a lot nicer than Yaren! :-)   )

Nett, I too thought that perhaps Miran had not only deserted Reyyan but had also left her pregnant. Especially when she was fainting so much. Little did I realize then that fainting seemed to be a fairly commonplace response among some of the women of Midyat. And having Handan become pregnant does provide an interesting twist. Carmella suggested earlier that perhaps Handan will become nicer now that she's pregnant. I find that a bit hard to imagine, but one never knows. I do think that somehow, Handan's pregnancy will play a role in the plot, but what that role will be remains to be seen.

Juanita, your recaps are so thorough, I don't miss a thing even when I miss the show! Thanks.

I've been watching from the beginning, and wish it would move on quicker. Every episode seems to be Reyyan getting kicked out of some house, crying, getting shot at, or Miran getting shot at, crying ( he cries more than any man I've seen in any novela!). Booorrrriiiinnnggg.
I do like Miran's new hairstyle. He and Reyyan are a good couple.

Y'all probably discussed this long ago, but I think Miran is Hazar's son and I thought I heard HAG allude to that the other night. If she knows, it would explain her recent attitude about him being killed if her revenge gets thwarted by him again.
I also wonder if HAG and Nashur weren't novios long ago and he left her. Or her sister.
Juanita - I agree - Azat & Elif would be a good couple. Gonul & Yaren,lol,the two nasties together,too.

Sorry I’m late. Thank you so much Juanita. Great idea to upgrade to HAG.

I expect that Azat will soon be able to pull the tablecloth without spilling a drop.

I’m hoping for Azat/Elif but Azat/Gonul is interesting. After all, she did shoot him….

I laughed over the various reactions to Handan’s pregnancy. I also wonder where they are going with that. Would the Aslanbey kidnap an infant?

Yaren is relentless. I had hoped for a truck to run her over when she crossed the street at the hospital.

Just in case anyone cares, this is the Turkish song that played when Reyyan and Miran were wrapped in the blanket. I’ve heard it in several other shows and I think it’s a great song.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #42
Part 1 of 4

Yaner tries to talk sense into Azat telling him that rushing into the Aslanbey konak to rescue Reyyan is only going to cause more drama and put every Sadoglu in jeopardy. He even tries to give Azat an option of climbing the back wall of the konak and quietly finding and rescuing Reyyan.

Azat basically says, my way or the highway, you stay here and he leaves Yaner near the truck as he heads to find access into the Aslanbey casa. Yaner does not look to convinced of the plan or that he will stay put.

Hazar goes from a trance into complete meltdown mode after Riza’s clueless reveal about the attack on Reyyan and Miran. Everyone is trying to calm him down. GT tells him to calm down, Reyyan is fine and alive. Hazar wants to immediately go to rescue Reyyan from Miran saying, she is with him one day and almost gets killed. Everyone restrains him from leaving. Very over the top scene that I am sure you all muted or FF>>. Nothing relevant was revealed.

Elif is in the sitting room watching something on a tablet. She removes her ear buds and grabs the empty water pitcher as she heads down to the kitchen. Of course, she runs right into Azat as he is coming down the stairs from the rooftop balcony (Azat and Miran (the primos) must have circus genes the way they scale walls into each other’s konaks so easily).

Elif demands to know what he is doing there? She rushes him into the sitting room afraid of what might happen as we hear Horrible Awful Granny or HAG (our new acronym for BG) tell Esma to call someone. Esma rushes out of the HAG’s room on the phone. Elif barely gets Azat inside the room.

Azat asks, why are you hiding me? Because, I don’t want you to get killed, you know that will happen if they find you right? You need to leave right now, says Elif. Wow, says Azat, an Aslanbey with a heart, what a concept!

Elif blushes slightly but keeps her insistence that he must leave. Did you come alone? she asks. Yes, I did, says Azat, but I am not leaving alone. I am taking Reyyan with me.

We see that the alone part is not true, as Yaner has now scaled the wall to the upper balcony and is inside the konak. Avoiding the guard, Yaner comes down the stairs, gets distracted by Sehriyar yelling that she is heading to the market and comes face to face with a gun to the face, held by Firat. Where is Azat? Firat demands to know.

Reyyan is checking her phone, wondering where Miran is, saying we have to go see my parents before they hear about the shooting. (Too late). She then hears voices in the courtyard and the HAG telling someone to beat the information out of him and find out where that dog Azat is hiding!

Rushing down the stairs, Reyyan finds HBB beating the crap out of poor Yaner. She tries to intervene as the HAG and Firat will not allow any mercy until Yaner spills the frijoles about Azat. At the HAG’s command, Esma drags Reyyan away and then starts in on how cowardly the Sadoglu’s are, sending a minion to do their work. Reyyan continues to try and save Yaner from more of a beating.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #42
Part 2 of 4

Azat is watching this from the sitting room, where Elif has locked the door and refuses to let him out, fearing for his life. Azat finally moves her out of the way, shoots the lock and reveals himself, calling on the HAG and the henchmen to stop.

The HAG is freaked out as she sees Elif following Azat. Azat and Firat point guns at each other, as Azat says he is only here to take Reyyan away but will kill anyone who gets in the way. The HAG says we can make that happen. Reyyan breaks away from Esma and puts herself between Firat and Azat, saying Firat will have to kill her too.

Miran and the vipers are driving up to the konak from the cemetery. Miran hears the commotion inside and rushes in, pulling his gun and making a beeline to Azat he demands to know what Azat is doing standing near his wife!

Reyyan tells Miran to calm down, remember all the promises you made me, to make me smile and happy. In a heated exchange, Azat demands that Reyyan leave with him saying that he does not believe she is there of her own free will. She jump from a bridge for heaven sake so as not to hold this bastards hand again!

Reyyan pleads with Miran to stop and just let them go. The whole time the HAG is screeching to Miran about the horrible Sadoglu’s and how he can’t let this one get away with this!

Finally, after Reyyan tells Miran to shoot, but know that if he does, she will never forgive him and she will disappear from his life, love overcomes hate and he lowers his pistol, telling the guards to open the gate and let Azat and Yaner leave. Miran does threaten Azat, saying, you come near my wife again, I will kill you!

Azat won’t give it up, demanding that Reyyan come with him. Reyyan turns on Azat saying, I am here of my own free will! Accept it already, I am married to Miran, he is my husband! With that, she grabs Miran’s wrist with her hand.

Azat is crestfallen, as Reyyan continues, my place is here, with my husband, go away and don’t ever come back! Azat, gets a burst of energy and holds the gun back up at Miran’s head, saying he doesn’t care if he dies, without Reyyan, he is dead already. Elif looks sad at this declaration.

Miran orders Reyyan upstairs, she obeys. Miran tells Azat, you got your answer, now take your man and leave, remember, you come around again, I will kill you! In a strange move, Azat tosses his pistol in the middle of the courtyard and tells Miran this has not ended here Miran Aslanbey! Azat and the very beaten up Yaner finally leave.

The HAG, missing nothing, stares at the pistol on the ground and remembers how Esma overheard Firat speaking with Yaren about Azat coming to the konak. Esma, is quick to tell the HAG. She also remembers a call she received from one of her henchman who was surveilling Azat at his grandfathers home, telling her that Azat was leaving his hiding place.

The HAG then makes a call to HBB and tells him to allow Azat the opportunity to enter the konak without being caught by the guards (not sure what the HAG is up to, but she is definitely several step ahead of everyone else).

Back in the courtyard, everyone disperses like nothing happened. A frustrated Miran heads upstairs and the HAG demands a coffee from Esma. Esma goes to the kitchen leaving the HAG and HBB standing in the courtyard alone with Azat’s gun in-between them. (Uh-oh).

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #42
Part 3 of 4

Azat helps Yaner up the alleyway to the truck, he wants to take him to the hospital, Yaner refuses.

Reyyan is upstairs pacing, her dress, blending in with the bedspread (Sorry, couldn’t resist 😊) when Miran bursts in the door and has a total hissy fit. He tells her that if any Sadoglu comes to this house again, especially Azat, they will die. He goes on an on, Reyyan tries to counter with a few good pointers, even reminding him that her father entrusted him to keep her safe when GT wanted to kill her.

Your grandfather! spits Miran. If I hadn’t rescued you the night of the henna ceremony, you would have been killed! Confused, Reyyan says, what do you mean Miran, who would have killed me? It doesn’t matter, him or someone would have killed you! (Ugh! Why didn’t you explain it to her Miran?!). Miran rants on for a bit more until Reyyan calmly says, lets not do this to each other again.

Remember, I agreed to marry the Miran who wanted to rewrite our story, not the Miran filled with hate and anger, says Reyyan. Miran takes a deep breath saying, I just cannot lose you. All my life my heart has been stone but your look, your words your breath have brought meaning and life into me. If that is taken away, I am dead. Reyyan, you are the light in my dark world.

Reyyan tells him all she wants is for him to be safe and for no one in her family to get hurt. A frustrated Miran takes a seat in the chair, Reyyan kneels in front of him and takes his hand saying, don’t other people have the right to also have meaning in their lives as well? If you continue like this, this war will never end. Miran stands and walks out of the room. (It is going to take a lot of calm talks from Reyyan to even start to get through to this guy).

HAG is sitting in her room twisting the heck out of those beads when without knocking, Miran enters the room. Did you come to remove the knife from my back grandson, she says, or just to hurt me more? Miran rolls his eyes and says, I did not betray you.

The HAG launches into one of her never ending Sadoglu Bad/Aslanbey Good speeches. Miran counters her with, if you say I am the bloodline for this family, then from here on out, things will be done my way! With that, he storms out of her room. Reyyan quickly moves back into their bedroom after listening to part of the conversation and the HAG’s continued brainwashing of Miran.

Sultana and Gonul are sitting in another bedroom. Sultana is worried about the continued attacks on them and she wonders why Gonul is so calm. Gonul explains that before signing the divorce papers, she made a decision that will put both of them in the drivers seat. She asks Sultana to believe in her and have patience. Ultimately, Gonul says, we only have each other as she kneels and kisses her mother’s hands.

Back at the Country House, Zehra is staring at the “men” of the house all talking in the driveway. She launches herself straight toward GT and lets him have it, full force, about being responsible for hating and trying to kill Reyyan, forcing her to now be married to the enemy.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #42
Part 4 of 4

For 5 full TN minutes of overacting (yes, I timed it) Zehra shouts the truth in the faces of GT, Cihan, Handan and Yaren. She even gets a few licks in at Hazar. She challenges the Sadoglu men to get off their como se llamas and go find whoever attacked Reyyan and then bring her daughter home! She then collapses on her knees with Hazar trying to keep her upright. He promises to find out who attacked Reyyan and to bring her home.

One drama done and the next begins as Azat and Yaner arrive. Yaner’s mom is horrified to see the state he is in and of course we have another over the top family discussion about Azat leaving his hiding spot and going to the Aslanbey konak to rescue Reyyan. When Azat learns about the assassination attempt on Reyyan, he immediately accuses Cihan and GT.

Azat is about to jump back into the truck and try again to rescue Reyyan when Zehra shouts at him not to dare do anything that will put Reyyan’s life in danger. This stops Azat in his tracks. Hazar tells him to stand down. Azat leaves but he says it is to just get some air to breath (yeah, because in her tirade, Zehra has sucked the life out of every Sadoglu man in a few minutes of time).

In the kitchen, Zehra is crying. Melike tells her not to cry because she has heard Reyyan’s voice and Reyyan is planning to come and see her mother. Melike calls Reyyan and puts Zehra on the phone. Zehra is so glad to hear her voice and tells her that she will go get her. Reyyan says she is fine and as a calmer Miran comes back into the room, Reyyan tells her mother that Miran is going to take her to visit. Miran shakes his head in agreement.

Miran in fresh clothes and Reyyan in a better-looking dress, make their way across the patio, but get stopped by questions from the HAG. Where are you going? Don’t you remember you agreed to my terms of never seeing the Sadoglu again? Why are you taking her to her mother when you were deprived of a mother thanks to Hazar Sadoglu? (You all get the picture).

Miran gives Reyyan her place and puts the HAG in hers, saying I promised to take Reyyan to see her mother and I will do that especially after everything that has happened. Looking like a solid, happy couple, ReyMir walk confidently out of the konak with the HAG staring daggers into their back. (Oh my goodness, I hope she doesn’t make another ambush\assassination call!).

Watching all of this unfold, is Esma. She dares to move to the HAG and says, Madame…the HAG quickly responds, don’t you dare ask me what I am going to do! Since Miran refuses to return to the collective (as his old totally brainwashed self) and puts his love for this girl in front of me, all promises are off! You know what I will do Esma, they will know my fury. Esma looks sick to her stomach. The episode ends on the HAG's evil face.

Wow, VVS, what an amazing recap! A lot of the episode was more of the same old same old, from HAG, from Miran, from Azat, and from Zehra and Hazar, but you made it come alive. I especially loved your comment "For 5 full TN minutes of overacting (yes, I timed it) Zehra shouts the truth in the faces of GT, Cihan, Handan and Yaren. She even gets a few licks in at Hazar." I also enjoyed your describing Zehra as "challenging the Sadoglu men to get off their como se llamas...." and your saying that Azat needed some fresh air because, in her tirade, Zehra has sucked the life out of every Sadoglu man in a few minutes of time."

I realize that the news of the shooting that took place at ReyMir's new home may have made her parents eager to have her back with them, but I still found myself somewhat annoyed with her parents for not believing what she has said. Hazar tells Zehra that Reyyan looked him in the eyes and told him that she loved Miran, that she came of her own accord, and that she wanted to stay there. Nonetheless, both he and Zehra intensely determined to bring Reyyan back to live with them.

I'm glad you, too, were perplexed by Azat's tossing his gun onto the floor and walking away.

I was interested in what Gonul said to Sultana. She tells her that she may seem weak, but that's because she wants to be seen that way. She has clearly got a plan in mind.

As for HAG--wow! She's just about the most evil major character I've encountered in a telenovela. Only perhaps Carlota in En Nombre del Amor (one of the first novelas I watched) was worse. Indeed, she almost made me stop watching telenovelas. Either she really was uniquely evil or I've become older, wiser, and/or more callous (older for sure). Like you, VVS, I held my breath when ReyMir (I love the name) walked out of the Aslanbey mansion to go see Reyyan's mother. I was/am fearful that HAG was about to make one of her very nasty phone calls. She never stops scheming. I think she told Mahmoud not to stop Azat from entering because she hoped that something terrible would result from his gaining access. Perhaps Miran would kill him, or perhaps Reyyan would decide to leave Miran and go with Azat, or perhpas Azat would shoot Miran. Any of those outcomes, even the last, might work to further her venganza. But her wishes were thwarted again by Miran. At least for the moment.

herc
VVS! I completely agree with Juanita! what an amazing recap!! you've managed to make the same ole, same ole soooo interesting! I love "Reymir" fits them perfectly! And yes, Zehra had her finest 5 mins ever! Nasuh actually showed some remorse and some compassion for his eldest boy. I was shocked! you know, I really do believe that his affection for Hazar is the product of a "love child," and initially I thought it might be Azize, but then, knowing Azize, there's no way in Hades that she would let someone take her child from her! But I guess we will see. Wouldn't that be a twist! Azize tryna have her own son killed!

I liked Elif "protecting" Azat, hahaha! She's such a good soul, but much more suited to puppy eyes imho.

And Im super happy Miran took up for his woman! It's high time people stopped being afraid of Azize. She's already done the absolute worse! I think Gonul is finally seeing the light where Azize is concerned. Honestly, I don't like Gonul, but I like this more reserved one....

Hoping to see more spunk out of Reyyan too! Reymir has the potential to give Azize a good run for her money!

Thanks again VVS!

Hi Juanita! It is always encouraging to read the comments on recaps and you are always so gracious. Thank you!

I am with you on being annoyed with Zehra and Hazar in not supporting Reyyan’s love for Miran. These families are so self-centered, with the grandkids all paying the price.

I think dondi356 coined the ReyMir name and like you upgrading BG to HAG, I just copied the great ideas. 😊

I to think HAG has been thwarted by Miran and Reyyan quite frankly. She thought the venganza was going to be much more simple, sticking to her plan and now the good vs evil battle has begun.

I don’t know what to think about Gonul. Is she just plain gullible and dumb or is she really a brilliant puppet master like HAG? I guess time will tell.

Thank you carmella for your comments as well! It has been great to have you join us for this rollercoaster of a ride. Glad you are watching and not just reading the recaps!

Interesting theory about Hazar being a lovechild! Could it be by Azize? Wow, that would be something, but right in the line of Miran murdering his own father! As dondi356 says, let's toss that one in the crackpot too!

Puppy eyes, or Yaner, is pretty cute, but I do think Elif is already in love with Azat. They are both kind souls that can help heal some wounds or expose the evils.

I also hope that ReyMir become a strong formidable force against the evil HAG. I just love the chemistry between these two and I hope we get some real loving going on soon, if you know what I mean!

Thank you, VVS. Excellent recap. If the show could use some FF>>, I wouldn't skip anything from the recap.
"her dress, blending in with the bedspread" - it did, didn't it?
"For 5 full TN minutes of overacting (yes, I timed it)" - too funny.

Thank you, dondi356, for the link to the sunrise scene with the original song.

An outstanding recap, VVS! Thanks so much. This was a pleasure to read…watching the ep…. not so much.

I really wish they would cut down on the hysterics. It’s repetitive and exhausting. It’s lost its entertainment value.

For me, Zehra is the worst female offender—“Zehra has sucked the life out of every Sadoglu man in a few minutes of time." I LOL’d when I read “For 5 full TN minutes of overacting (yes, I timed it)“—because I timed it, too! And it even continued over a commercial break! Miran wins the male category with his secret dad, Hazar, the runner up.

Carmella, “Azize tryna have her own son killed!” by his own son… that’s a mind blower. This is like a Greek tragedy.

I’d like to see more interaction between Nasuh and Azize, there’s definitely a lot more to their “relationship”.

I’m ready for Azat/Elif.

I can’t take credit for ReyMir. That’s how their shippers refer to them online. I only imported it for ease of use.

Lucio, they are cheating us with the music.

Lucio, glad you enjoyed the recap. Since I began watching this dizi, I have been fascinated with the beautiful linens on everyone’s bed, particularly the pillow cases. The bedspread on Miran’s bed caught my eye when Reyyan walked past it in the similar stripped dress and she looked like a chameleon. I get distracted easily.

dondi356, the hysterics are getting old. I also would award Zehra first place followed by Sultana for annoying screaming and yelling. Miran is the male winner hands down!

That is funny that you also timed that scene. I thought that Telemundo would cut it short because the Turkish version was just about the same length, but they did not.

I downloaded the music track for Hercai, I really have enjoyed listening to it.

Maybe the on-liners came up with ReyMir, but you get the credit for enlightening us here dondi356!
