Tonight's recap may well be a "quickie". I am still up to my eyeballs in a horror story of doing a huge accounting report. I will watch, but don't know how much time I have to recap.
Hercai - #62 – Quickie
Miran asks Esma if she saw anything the night Hazar fell. Firat looks at his mother with suspicion. Miran is frustrated, saying no one in the whole household saw or heard anything. Firat opines that maybe Hazar had come to finish off Miran after Miran’s visit to the C.H. Miran replies that he knows enough about Hazar to know he’s not the underhanded, ambush kind of guy.
Gonul gets in Sultana’s face about having lied to Miran about Gonul and Sultana having been together when Hazar fell. Gonul runs through the people who were there and only comes up with two suspects: Miran or Sultana.
Zehra refuses to leave the hospital or even eat anything while she’s there.
Yaren meets with Sultana. Her big idea is for the two of them to work together to get Azat married to Elif. The two female dogs spar for a while, but we don’t hear all of Yaren’s plan. Sultana tells her she’ll think about it.
Melike, Reyyan, and Gul have come to the Sadoglu konak in Midyat. Gul finds her amazingly still liquid biberón (baby bottle). Miran calls Reyyan. He keeps pushing, wanting to pick up Reyyan and Gul and take them for something to drink near the hospital. When Gul sees Miran she embraces him.
Handan shows up at the hospital in an awful tiger-striped dress, fearing to miss something and getting on everyone’s nerves.
While they are sitting at an outdoor table, Gul runs after a guy selling balloons. Miran and Reyyan have another of their talks, this one about her not putting on his ring. Gul overhears something about Hazar fighting for his life. She runs off, while her sister and Miran go on and on and on, not noticing that Gul is not with them. She says she won’t wear his ring until he stops saying he’ll get vengeance. He’s budged a little, saying he just wants the truth. But until the truth is known, he promises he won’t do anything to Hazar. Reyyan puts the ring on a cord around her neck.
Gul is sobbing through the streets, asks a couple of people for directions and finds the hospital.
Nasuh says that the C.H. brings them bad luck. Zehra tells him that’s a stupid thing to say. It was not bad luck from that house but it was because of the grudge between he and Azize Aslanbey. Gul comes into that corridor and overhears Nasuh say something about “if my son dies..” Gul then is picked up by GT. She tells him that Reyyan said something to Miran about her papa dying. Black looks all around.
As usual Miran can’t figure out when it’s best to make himself scarce. They enter the corridor where the whole Sadoglu clan are gathered.
Zehra lights into Reyyan for focusing on Miran and not looking after Gul. She sees the ring around Reyyan’s neck. Then Reyyan reaches for Miran’s hand. Zehra slaps her. Yaren smirks. Zehra tells Reyyan to leave and never return. “You are no longer my daughter; this is over.” She goes on to say that Reyyan chose the killer instead of her family. She doesn’t want her around to cause any more harm to the family. Reyyan says that she simply believes her husband. And she tells Zehra that if she, Zehra, were lying in that bed, her father would look in her eyes and believe she’s telling the truth.
Reyyan and Miran leave and the Sadoglu discover that Gul has wandered off. Outside the hospital Miran doesn’t stop Azat from approaching Reyyan. Azat tells her he’ll keep her informed.
Zehra realizes that Gul saw and heard everything she said to Reyyan, including the slap.
Thank you novelera for this quickie that was so much better than the frustrating episode. I hope you were able to finish your massive accounting report.
I despise Zehra. I couldn’t believe her behavior with poor Reyyan. Granted, Miran and Reyyan did let Gul disappear, but that wasn’t even Zehra’s reason to slap her daughter in front of everyone, including Gul. Great parenting example. Zehra is such a hypocrite. She loses track of Gul within two minutes.
Reyyan is definitely a kind, calm, soul. She told her mother a few things that stung, probably more than the slap.
Miran came back up a few notches with me last night. Maybe this “truth” finding will actually lead to some truth and least it gave Reyyan some hope. I also was glad to see him give Azat the opportunity to talk to Reyyan without causing another fight.
Yaren and Sultana, in her Kentucky Derby hat, made me laugh with their secret meeting about nothing. Elif and Azat will probably figure out on their own how to come together without all the backdoor planning.
Thanks again novelera, I hope you have a calmer work day.
Thanks VERY much, novelera, for managing to write this excellent "Quickie" in the midst of all your work commitments.
It's true that Miran doesn't know when to make himself scarce, but the episode also showed signs that his attitudes and behaviors are changing in a good way, starting with his response to Firat when Firat suggests that Hazat had come to the Aslanbey compound in the middle of the night to kill Miran. Later in the episode, I was heartened by Miran's saying he was waiting for the truth, whatever it might be. The fact that he's no longer so sure that HAG's account is true is another step forward. And then, as you said, he didn't go after Azat and try to prevent him from speaking to Reyyan, as he'd done so many times before. BTW, thanks very much for reporting that Miran promised Reyyan he wouldn't do anything to Hazar before the truth is known. Somehow, I missed that important statement.
The meeting between Yaren and Sultana puzzled me. Or, rather, Yaren's plan puzzles me. I do see how, if Miran remains loyal to Reyyan and Elif marries Azat, Azize will have no grandchild to turn to except Gonul. However, Sultana is right not to believe Yaren's claiming she's interested only in saving her brother's life. That may be part of her motive, but I assume she's still trying to get Reyyan out of the picture so she can have Miran, though I don't see how she'll accomplish this.
Oh, Zehra! I've said several times how she infuriates me, but last night's episode presented Zehra at her worst, especially in her treatment of Reyyan.
So Gul is five years old and still has a bottle? Well, I guess it's a Magic Milk Bottle, since the milk hasn't curdled in all the time the Sadoglu have been in the Country House.
At the end of the episode, Zehra is frantically searching for Gul. Suddenly, the expression on her face changes. She sees something she apparently doesn't like at all. My guess/hope is that she sees Gul not far away, enjoying the company of Miran and Reyyan.
Thanks for the concise recap Novelera.
Just when I thought we'd moved beyond everyone slapping Reyan around...pop goes her annoying mom with a solid one across the face. Good grief the gratuitous beatings of this young girl is so annoying. And her mom knows good and well how loving and approving Hazar has been toward her and he would want to see her when he wakes up...not oust her from the family.
Juanita...I have been mystified from the first time I saw Gul with that baby bottle...as to why she even has one at that age. And how that milk hasn't curdled by now is beyond belief. Must be the formula.
My earlier post about the stolen letter has disappeared but my guess is it's likely Firat who stole the letter. I'm thinking either he saw Esma with Hazar...or she sent him for the letter not wanting it to fall in the wrong hands at the hospital. Otherwise....it could only be someone who knew about or witnessed the letter exchange.
Nett
Interesting speculations, Nett! I don't think Esma sent Firat for the letter--she has never confided in him about the past, and I doubt she'd want him to be able to read Dilsah's letter now. But it's possible, as you say, that Firat could have seen Esma with Hazar (Firat did follow her) and see her handing the letter to him. I guess we'll find out, but your theory seems quite plausible!
Sultana was rocking that hat. She looks better in a hat.
I saw the actor playing Miran on YouTube speaking English . He went to college in Californis.
Great “quickie”, novelera. You hit the important parts. Thank you for your dedication to Caray.
Zehra really surprised me. Must be the stress from Hazar’s condition and pregnancy hormones. Wonder what she saw at the end. My guess it’s nothing terrible, maybe she finds Gul.
Miran took another step forward last night, waiting for him to take his two steps back.
This dizi is chock full of annoying characters. Even little Gul with her recent whining and that awful baby bottle.
ITA and lol, VVS: “Yaren and Sultana, in her Kentucky Derby hat, made me laugh with their secret meeting about nothing.”
Susanlynn, “Who’s turn is it to slap Rey?” True and sad.
This is getting very repetitive. I hope I get a better ep to recap tonight.
dondi356
My apologies because this recap will be up late today. My subtitles, both English and Spanish, were on the blink last night. And I'm having trouble accessing the online site. The dialog went by fast and the voices weren’t clear to me either. I’m going to look at the original Turkish as well.
dondi356
As previously mentioned, I had few subtitles this episode. And it was hard for me to make out all the screaming and crying. Please correct and fill in wherever necessary.
Zehra finds Gul sitting outside on a bench. Zehra scoops her up an smothers her with hugs and kisses, telling her, mommy was so scared, don’t go anywhere without her again. Gul pulls away and cries, you’re the one who scared me! You shouted at my sister and you hit her! You don’t love me or my sister, otherwise you wouldn’t have upset us! Zehra tries to explain her way out of this saying you and your sister are the most important in the world for her.
Gul’s not buying it. You’re lying! You wouldn’t have hit her! Gul says she’s scared her mother might hit her, too. Gul clings to Melike. The men exit the hospital, see Gul and head over. All at once they start shouting at the little girl. She covers her ears. She shouts back, my father is sick, don’t shout! He will get upset if he hears you and he won’t wake up.
Nasuh reaches out for his granddaughter but she rejects him. You’re not my grandpa anymore! Grandpas protect their families, they don’t let anyone shout. And you shout most of all! Gul turns to Azat and asks, they won’t let kids in, please tell my father to wake up. Tell him not to go to heaven, tell him to come home. Everything is worse when dad is not around. Tell him I am sad and crying a lot. Tell him not to leave and to come back.
All the adults are affected and teary Azat replies, I’ll tell him but I think he was able to hear you. He said my flower should not be sad. When you cry, he hears you, so don’t cry anymore. Zehra makes another attempt to hold her daughter, but Gul backs away and asks Melike to take her home. Zehra agrees and cries for Gul as she leaves.
Next, Nasuh surprises us as he shows a tiny bit of sympathy to Zehra, almost putting his hand on her shoulder to comfort her. He tells Zehra, she (Gul) is just a little girl. She’s very young and doesn’t understand. But then he adds, regarding Reyyan, you did the right thing. Hazar is inside because of a girl that isn’t even his. Reyyan is ungrateful. Zehra replies, that’s right, Reyyan is not his blood, but she is my daughter. Don’t get involved with her. From now on, I will see to my daughter. She walks away from him.
Miran and Reyyan arrive at the Aslanbey konak. She says she can’t go in. She can’t climb those stairs where he fell. I can’t breathe the same air he struggled to breathe, she says. Miran understands and says we will do whatever she wants. He has an idea that he will make her feel better. Cut to Reyyan and Miran on horseback riding through the fields.
Meanwhile, back at the konak, Azize stares down from the balcony at Sultana below. Azize gets a call from Hanife. Is there any news? Actually, Hanife was wondering if there is anything. I think Hanife mentions they are returning to the mansion. Azize says, let’s see if they can be there in peace. Hanife asks Azize if plans have changed. HAG says that Hazar’s fall changed some things but it will continue. She tells Hanife to wait for her call and to let her know if anything happens on her end. Sultana looks up at Azize with a smirk. I have no idea if she heard any of the call.
Firat returns to the konak. Azize asks him about Miran. He has no idea where Miran is. All he knows is he went horseback riding with Reyyan. Sultana starts in with Azize and she comes downstairs. Your new DIL gets upset and takes off on horseback with her husband. Maybe they don’t care, but have you thought what happens if Hazar Sadoglu dies? Do you have a plan? They will come for Miran first.
Firat makes a phone call and Gonul comes out into the yard.
dondi356
Azize warns Sultana to stay out of this. I’ve given three sons for this family. You didn’t give one. Sultana reminds the HAG that she was beaten while pregnant and got an iron put to her stomach. Her husband took her son’s life. She says to HAG, look into my eyes and tell me I couldn’t give you a son. I begged to see my son, but you didn’t even have the decency to let me say goodbye. HAG and Sultana retreat to separate places.
Sultana stops by an upset Gonul and tells her, that’s the grandmother you love so much.
Gonul looks at Firat, who is still on his phone and then she heads up the stairs to confront HAG in her room. Gonul says, how could you let my father do that to my mother. My mother came to your house as an orphan, she had no family. Don’t you have a conscience? [Gonul, don’t you know your granny?] You did nothing to prevent it. My mother is suffering, and you continue to lie. Her son is alive. You gave birth to three sons, but you were not a good mother.
HAG raises her hand to strike but Gonul blocks it. Gonul says, no, it ends here grandmother. Your family has started to see your true face. Did you think Miran would follow you when you went to Kars? You were lucky. Hazar Sadoglu fell, and you had an excuse to return. How dare you, HAG interjects.
Gonul is not deterred and says, I will ask you something and you are going to answer. Gonul goes to the chest to find the document about Firat. Azize panics. Gonul waves the envelope at HAG, now you are going to tell me the truth, is Firat my biological brother? You put your possessions in his name. You treat him like one of us, you raised him like an Aslanbey. Tell me why.
Azize turns away from Gonul and asks, are you done with your conjectures? Have you unburdened yourself? Did you get the hate out? She turns back, now you are going to listen to me. All I have done in my life…Gonul interrupts, don’t repeat that you’ve done everything for your family. [thank you, Gonul]. I don’t want my mother to suffer, I can’t stand it. I don’t want to feel remorse when I look in her eyes. Gonul asks again, is Firat my brother?
Azize stalls with, I see that you inherited your mother’s disposition. Let’s say that Firat is your brother. Let’s say that you told, talked, hugged, and cried, and then what? What will the Sadoglu do? Gonul asks, about what?
Azize answers, is this the time to reveal secrets without there being any consequences? If the Sadoglu find out you have a brother, his death will become a priority. Then your mother will lose her son and you will be guilty. You will send him to his grave and you’d have no protection. Instead of confronting me you should think about your brother’s safety. Try to understand why I haven’t revealed it all these years. Because that boy also carries my blood. Before you blame me, think of the reasons you should remain quiet. You think with your heart, I think with my head.
HAG continues, one mistake and your brother will die. He doesn’t even know he is an Aslanbey. If you reveal this you will serve him up to the Sadoglus and you and your mother will be unprotected. Gonul has reconsidered and says ok, I won’t talk. In the Turkish, Gonul threatens, I hope this is the only reason for your cruelty to my mother and me. Don’t forget the games you play appear one by one. If this is a game, too, then fear me. Gonul leaves the room. [So does this mean HAG has confirmed Firat is the missing brother? It seemed like she kept it hypothetical.]
dondi356
Reyyan and Miran have taken a break from riding. He asks her if she feels a little better. No, she doesn’t. I don’t belong anywhere, she says. He says it doesn’t matter and tells her to yell, cry, vent. He knows this himself. Your heart becomes stone, he says, and it’s like nothing can make it better. But it helps when you have someone to share it with. Someone who understands your pain perfectly. She rests her head on his shoulder. He asks if she wants to go back but she’s not ready. We’ll stay as long as you want, he tells her.
They cut the beginning of the next scene. Cihan and Handan are sitting on a bench across from the hospital. He’s whining about what has happened. Handan tries to put things in perspective. She mentions Dilsah and notices a change on Cihan’s face. She asks him about that, and he says he knows nothing of her. Then Yaren and Nasuh come out.
Nasuh tells Cihan to go home and he will stay at the hospital. Cihan says he will take Handan and Yaren and then return. No, says Nasuh, stay at home and take care of Gul. Before Cihan leaves, Nasuh says, if Gul cries too much, call her sister and let her come. Cihan looks surprised and Yaren looks unhappy. Nasuh adds, but don’t let that bastard Miran come.
All of a sudden it’s nighttime and there’s a terrible thunderstorm. ReyMir are wandering around in the downpour and they find a cave. She asks, where are we? He’s not sure but they are far from home. [how the hell did this happen?] The horses are missing, too. Miran thinks the horses will find their way back. But Rey asks, how will we get back? Their phones don’t work here.
Rey starts to freak out. She needs to get back. What if there is news about her father? What if something happens? Miran tries to calm her but she’s increasingly upset. What if he wakes up and wants to see me? I can’t stay here, I have to go back. She takes off into the storm. He runs after her.
Rey continues her meltdown, worrying about something happening to her father and they can’t contact her. She runs again and Miran stops her. He says, this isn’t your fault. Let’s go back, we can’t do anything now. Let’s get out of the rain. She’s not having it and rants on, I need to be with my father and ask him to forgive me. I have to ask him not to leave me with this pain. She shouts for her father. Dad! Don’t die.
Miran assures her, look at me. Your father won’t die. He will be fine. How do you know, she shoots back, this is all my fault. I asked my father for help. I wanted us to get out of that mansion. I asked him to find proof. Maybe he came to show us the proof and end this torment. Miran says she has to stop blaming herself. Everything will be fine.
Rey shouts, I’ve been waiting my whole life. It thought it was possible. I waited every day and hoped that things would get better. Miran looks like he’s losing his patience with her [so am I]. I thought love could heal the wounds, that it could light the darkness. We still have to fight against so much adversity. I told myself not to give up, to keep fighting. [Turkish] Because I loved you, because I didn’t give up on my love, my father is in this state. My father is about to die because I couldn’t let you go. She starts blaming herself all over again. I can’t live knowing this. What did I do? She goes on and on….
Finally, Miran explodes to shut her up! Thank you, Miran! Yes, you did it, he yells, you are to blame for all of it! You made your family this way! You pushed your father! Everything that has happened is your fault! You are the only one responsible. Are you happy now?! You made them unhappy for your own happiness. They lost all their faith in you. You asked your father for help and ruined his life. Are you happy?! Will this help your father recover? [Good grief is there no end to this scene?]
dondi356
The fire finally dies out and Miran crouches down next to Rey. It’s not your fault, he tells her, you only blame yourself because your family blames you. They have made you accustomed to that. They always blame you when something bad happens. It’s easy for them to blame someone else and for you to believe it. It’s not your fault. Stop believing that. He holds her as she cries. Rey says she’s tired and Miran says he will always be with her. He convinces her to go back to their shelter.
HAG is sitting in her room handling those prayer beads. Esma comes in and asks if she wants another coffee to replace the one she let go cold. No. Esma leaves and Firat enters. HAG asks for news on Miran. Firat tells her the horses returned but no one knows about ReyMir. Azize worries the Sadoglus might have done something to hurt them.
Nah, ReyMir are ok, they are in the shelter, waiting out the storm. Boy scout Miran has started a fire and they have taken off some of their wet clothes to dry. Miran puts his dry shirt back on because heaven forbid I get any small pleasure out of this episode. [and yes, I noticed that Miran has his old hairstyle back] Rey’s dress is still wet so Miran puts his jacket around her. He moves her closer to the fire so she won’t be cold. She asks for the time, it’s 11p. He says they should wait and leave at sunrise.
He’s sorry they are stuck in this place. The last place she would want to be. She says it’s ok because she’s by his side. It’s not the best or the worst either. She wishes she was with her father. I’d like to be with him and with you by my side, she says. You are with him, Miran tells her, I think he knows that. You don’t have to say anything about my father, she replies, I know it’s hard for you.
Miran says, I could never speak badly about your father’s love for you. Reyyan rests her head on Miran’s lap. He strokes her hair. He says, when I was a kid I thought about my mother and sometimes I would be upset at her because she wasn’t with me. All I had was an old picture.
One day I went through my grandmother’s chest, he says. It was like a treasure chest with magical things inside. What kind of things, Rey asks? Things that children dream about, Miran answers. Did your grandmother catch you, Reyyan asks? No, Miran replies, she probably knew but didn’t say anything.
Rey asks, what did you find there? A silver hair comb, Miran says, and in that old photo, my mother had that comb in her hair. Were you happy, she asks? You have no idea, he responds, I carried it with me for years…while I slept… on the way to school. I hid it so my grandmother or Esma wouldn’t find it. As long as I had it, my mother was by my side. I didn’t know years later that I would fall in love with a girl with a beautiful silver comb in her hair just like my mother’s.
Reyyan gets up and Miran brushes her hair back. And later, Reyyan asks? Later, he says, Esma found the comb while cleaning and gave it to my grandmother. She told me it was hers, not my mother’s. Were you very sad, Rey asks? Truthfully, no, Miran answers. It was a symbol of love for my mother. I knew she was always with me. She is always here in my heart, like you. It’s where you are now.
Back to the vigil at the hospital. Looks like Zehra and Nasuh have dozed off. Firat shows up and lurks around a corner. Azat leans against a wall and says, wake up Uncle Hazar, wake up. Firat is asking himself, where are you Miran? Azat turns and notices Firat who takes off. Azat hurries after him and stops him. What the hell are you doing here? Why were you spying on us? What are you looking for this time?
dondi356
Firat replies with his own question, what did you do to Miran? Azat responds, why are you asking about Miran? He took Reyyan and… uh, oh. Now both men are wondering what’s going on. Azat says, if your grandmother is plotting something again, I will burn down your mansion! Firat says, Miran and Reyyan are not around and it has nothing to do with his grandmother.
Azat is not so sure about that. He tells Firat she was going to kill Reyyan with my gun to incriminate me. He warns, if Reyyan is hurt, I won’t leave Azize or Miran alive. Zehra appears down the hall and has heard this. She calls out, Azat! What did you say?!
Zehra grabs Firat by the collar. Is this true? Tell me! Azize Aslanbey tried to kill Reyyan? All of a sudden, Zehra doubles over in pain. Azat takes her away to find a doctor. Zehra is worried about Reyyan and Azat tells her not to worry we will call her.
Firat gets away easy this time. He calls Azize and tells her Miran and Reyyan are not at the hospital. Only Azat, Zehra and Nasuh. Their men are watching the other Sadoglus and they are all at home. Azize tells him not to come home until he finds Miran.
Back to ReyMir. He puts more wood on the fire and then slides next to Reyyan on the ground, holds her and sniffs her hair. I’m here, he tells her. She replies, you’re here. What will happen to us, Miran? I will never leave you, he says. Or I you, she says. Try to sleep a little, he tells her. She’s not sleepy.
She says, I have to find out why my father came to the mansion. We will find out, he replies. Rey says, I know he came for us. He came to tell us something. It must have been something important or else he wouldn’t have come to the mansion at that time of night. Miran says, you father will tell us when he wakes. Sleep now. I promise things will be different in the morning.
Reyyan wonders about her mother. Miran says her mother will forgive her. Mothers never abandon their children. Although my mother died, she never abandoned me. Her love never left me. Your mother won’t abandon you either. She loves you too much to do that. She is crazy about you and Gul.
They cut some stuff. Melike and Cihan are with Gul in her bedroom trying to comfort her and make her eat. Finally, Cihan suggests calling Reyyan and Gul shouts, don’t call her! Everyone only treats her badly when she’s here! Cihan leaves and Melike gets a call from Zehra. She leaves the room to take it. Zehra asks about Gul. Is she crying? Did she eat? Melike tries to soften the truth. Zehra decides to go home for Gul. She asks Melike not to tell her. Azat asks if anything happened to Gul. Zehra asks if he’s heard from Reyyan. No, her phone is off. Azat and Zehra leave.
Esma is in the kitchen. She closes the door and makes a call to the hospital to ask about Hazar. They won’t give her any information. Esma says thanks and closes the call. Azize has entered the kitchen in stealth mode and inquires, why are you asking about our enemy, Esma?
And we are out.
dondi356
MANY thanks, dondi356, for this superb recap. I'm immensely impressed that you were able to manage with neither English nor Spanish captions. And not just manage but produce an excellent account of the episode, complete with lots of appropriately snarky asides. I especially liked "[Gonul, don’t you know your granny?]"
Well, I guess I was wrong when I predicted that what Zehra saw that seemed to displease her at the end of the previous episode was Gul happily playing with Reyyan and Miran. Oh well, I still like that possibility better than Gul sitting alone on a bench. I did like some of Gul's outspoken remarks, both to Zehra and to Nasuh, both of whom deserved them.
I wonder what the "plan" is that Hanife asks Azize about. The two of them have alluded to the plan before, but they've never made it clear (at least not to Viewerville) what it is. And now I also wonder in what way Hazar's fall changes the plan?
I'm glad you asked "[So does this mean HAG has confirmed Firat is the missing brother? It seemed like she kept it hypothetical.]" I know that Azize started out presenting matters as hypothetical, but by the end of the discussion with Gonul, it sure sounded as if Firat is indeed Sultana's son and Gonul's brother.
I'm astonished that Telemundo cut the discussion between Cihan and Handan where Handan mentions Dilsah and Cihan reacts. Wow! Why would Telemundo cut such an important scene? MANY THANKS for including it!
One question...am I right in thinking that Reyyan's silver hair comb was once Dilsah's? Was it a gift to Reyyan from Hazar?
Again, thanks very much for producing such a superb recap in spite of the captioning obstacles!
Hercai
Dondi, thanks for another excellent recap of all the comings and goings and threats and fears.?
Out of tbe mouths of babes. Little Gul clearly understands that many in her family have been Mistreating her beloved sister.
So..has Rey taken a vow that there will be no bunny hopping with Miran until he gives up his revenge plan on her dad ?
I don't like Sultana, but what happened to her is awful.
OT...KPA...I have met Ipek who is a very different character from the ex novia in Imperios, I am liking Elif less and less as she gets in Omer's way as he tries to do his job. Simmer down, Elif. Her sisters, and auntie are also getting on my nerves,.Omer has a lot to deal with between his family, Fatma,,and Elif's family . What a galan.
Thank you, dondi356. The plot hasn't moved much, but I liked the recap.
To sum up this week on Hercai: Hazar falls down the stairs. Everybody thinks Miran did it. Miran says he didn't do it. Reyyan gets blamed for everything. The patient is in the hospital in grave condition.
Not counting Reyyan's meltdown, the outing turned into an outdoor adventure. Getting wet in the thunderstorm, drying up by the fire in a cave, campfire story. Miran managed to distract Reyyan from her dark thoughts and make her smile. The couple showed affection for each other. "Boy scout Miran has started a fire." The conditions seemed unfavorable - wet, no wood - but he managed to do it. Does he smoke and has a lighter? 44% of adult men in Turkey smoke, but we never saw any of the characters smoke.
Gonul, why bug Azize asking if Firat is your brother? Whatever she says, yes or no, will you trust it? Do a DNA test. I would like a bunch of DNA tests done on these people. Azize and Miran, Miran and Hazar, Hazar and Reyyan - so much fun. Actually, why has it never occurred to Hazar that Miran could be his son. If he does the math of how old Miran is and when Hazar was with Dilsah, the dates may start to add up.
In the previous episode Zehra said, after she slapped Reyyan, that if it turns out Miran is not guilty she would eat her words and apologize to Miran. Que conste! I want to see it.
Such a terrific recap, dondi. And with all the cards stacked against you! Like Juanita, I am so grateful that you include things the cut-and-paste crew at Telemundo snip out. That reaction on the part of Cihan to Dilsuh's name has to mean something. Crockpot theory: could Cihan's jealousy of his brother have somehow resulted in his revealing Hazar and Dilsuh's plan to run away together?
I'm starting to wonder if the writers are leading us down the garden path by all the hints that Firat is Sultana's son. Especially when HAG did that hypothetical speech of hers. She's been so determined to keep the secret of Sultana's baby that I doubt she'd even go that far. But, who else could it be? Mahmoud? After all, something was said about her "rescuing" him, but he was old enough to remember that happening, so maybe not.
That was one odd, fake looking fire in the cave. And I was also thinking: So where did Miran get dry wood in a downpour?
Yes, that scene with Miran and Reyyan was interminable. I never mention previews because of our Telemundo y Más rule, but sometimes I see them because I'm also watching Cafe and the DVR picks that up before Cafe starts. They were definitely going with a big fake-out in the preview, showing Miran shouting: "everything's your fault" and leaving out the part where he was trying to snap her out of her habit of letting everyone treat her badly.
Juanita, excellent theory about Reyyan's silver hair comb being Dilsah's.
I felt for the soaking wet actors.
Zehra, pfft! I wonder if the same lines, spoken by a better actor, might move us more. We are all sick of her bug-eyed overacting. I couldn't tell from what she said to Nasuh if she's still shutting Reyyan out of her life.
Thanks, Juanita, Susanlynn, Lucio and novelera.
Lucio, you summed up the week quite well. Most of this ep seemed unimportant and/or annoying to me.
I’ve had enough of Zehra and unfortunately, we have many episodes left. I wonder if the writers would dare to kill her? Maybe they can bring Dilsah back from the dead for Hazar.
Couldn’t take Reyyan’s extended guilt trip. I was even happy that Miran yelled at her. But their time by the fire was nice.
Nasuh almost comforting Zehra and suggesting calling Reyyan for Gul got my attention.
Juanita, did I miss something about the hair comb? Interesting. Reyyan already has the ring Hazar gave to Dilsah.
Susanlynn, “So..has Rey taken a vow that there will be no bunny hopping with Miran until he gives up his revenge plan on her dad ?” Maybe they will make up for it later if the censors allow. Inshallah.
Novelera, that is a very interesting crockpot theory about Hazar and Dilsah. His reaction to Handan was a silent one and he looked away from her. It’s hard to tell what he might have been thinking.
Most important was the confrontation between Azize and Gonul. I hope I got that scene right. But I’m not sure if that was confirmation on Firat. We need a DNA test! Get that DNA, Gonul! Lucio, your suggestion of DNA tests for everyone made me laugh.
Someone here proposed (sorry can’t remember who) that perhaps Esma was dishonored by one of the Aslanbey brothers and that’s how Firat was conceived. We saw a picture of little Firat with Hanife a while back. Maybe she was dishonored and Esma adopted Firat to keep him with the family.
We are still so early in the story and you can bet there will be many twists and turns to come with new characters introduced.

Ah yes, Ipek. Omer’s first big heartbreak. He seems to fall in love very easily and with the wrong person.
ITA about Elif. After they got their “second chance” Elif began to interfere in Omer’s business. As much as I was annoyed with Sami’s meddling, I was glad when he asked Elif, do you care about Omer’s well being or do you just want him to do whatever you want? But then we should consider that Elif has had tragic losses in a short period of time. She doesn’t want to lose Omer, too.
Snobby Aunt Nedret is awful. And so is bitter Fatma.
Omer is a great galan and you know how I feel about Engin. This character was made for him.

NOVELERA GOOD QIUCKY RECAP. THANKS.
WHAT PIST MEN OFF ABOUT LAST NIGHTS
EPI WAS ZEHRA SINKING LOW LIKE THE REST OF THE FAMILY. What she did & the things she said to reyyon was so unnecessary and just down right cruel. I get that she's pregnant probably tired and hungry and yes worried about her husband, but that is no way to treat her daughter. I mean she just like when down to the bottom like the rest of those Liars And then she just slapped her just like the rest of them, did that was just cruel. I'm glad that Miran took her hand and told her let's go cuz that's exactly the push they needed to get away from both those crazy ass families and get some answers. Cuz they're not going to get any from those two old biddies that is the cause of all the crap that's going on. I'm not surprised
That gul dont want have anything to do with them after she saw how they
Treated reyyon. Last night the cc english subtitles were off and on so I couldn't get what they were completely saying. Does anyone know what little gul said to all of
The stupid big people. That little precious was done with all of them,
Azat took her and milek home. Also
I got a little of what reyyon was saying, she was blaming herself for
All the trouble but miran got thro
To her not to let what the family said go to her head.
They really need to go and seek out the truth for themselves cuz them 2 old cusses ain't gonna tell nothin. I love them together.
Thank you Novelera. Good luck with your accounting situation.
I DIDN'T KNOW Ther WAS A FULL BLOWN RECAP SO I SKIPPED AND MY COMMENT.
SO NOW I KNOW WHAT WAS SAID BY LIL GUL IN HER RAGE AGAINST THE ANNOYIN
BIG PEOPLE AND REYYON SCRWAMING ABOUT PUTING THE BLAME ON HERSELF.
I hate when the English subtitles go out. These were blinking on&off
Last night and there was no storm.
Thank you Dondi for pulling it all together.
I don't think the censors will let us see them do anything over the top. When they kiss it's a peck
On the lips accept when miran was
About to walk away on the bridge an
Reyyon grabbing him by the hand and
Pulled him into a face smush. Then she laid one on Him. That surprised me. They don't even dress in the same room. With all that money Cant they put bathrooms in the bedrooms?
Well that is a compound, a very old one too.
I dont think firat is Emma's son
But he belongs to someonr there. That Hag has really twisted up that poor family. Everytime she opens her trap a lie falls out. Sultana didnt Deserve that what the hag did to her. look what she did to dilsah locked her up in the House of hell til she give birth to miran and would not tell him who his bio dad really is. She can't even Stand miran, she called him dumb. She wants him to kill hazar. Shes a mean evil coldblooded bitch. And she deserves what's coming. And I think some big zingers are coming.
And I want to be front and center to watch this bitch fall. So Let's hope the english subtitles don't go out.
Thank you Dondi
Thanks dondi356 for another excellent recap. I know it is a lot of work to recap the Telemundo version and then check the Turkish version. I appreciate the extra cut scenes and your ability to deal with the Reyyan meltdown. It did seem to go on and on, but we know she is Zehra daughter, so the theatrics is in her blood. I hope we don’t have too many Reyyan moments (that felt like hours) like that.
Is it possible that Dilsah is alive? We know next to nothing about her. Definitely one for the crockpot. With all the gun pulling, I am surprised no one has died so far. I am good with Zerah going away and Dilsah finding her way back.
HAG sure likes to play her word games. For now, Firat is the best candidate for son to Sultana and Gonul’s brother.
“Boy scout Miran” and you commenting on his bangs again, made me smile dondi356.
Lucio: “If he does the math of how old Miran is and when Hazar was with Dilsah, the dates may start to add up.” I have wondered the same thing. Clearly Hazar can remember rocking the Kasbah with Dilsah at some point, why hasn’t it occurred to him that Miran might be his son?
I also enjoyed the campfire storytelling. ReyMir need to get away, alone, more often. This is the only way they have any peace and loving time. I want them to move into the rebuilt cabin and start from scratch.
My CC’s were off as well dondi356, so you really helped fill in what was most important. I hope things pick up in the storyline and intrigue. I am tired of the hospital drama.
Thanks, Nina and VVS. I see I wasn’t the only one who had blinky subtitles.
Nina, Firat is definitely an Aslanbey, but who are the parents?
VVS, I know you check the Turkish version, too, and I appreciate that as well.
“I am surprised no one has died so far.” We’re still early in the story, but I’ll bet that there will be tragic Sadoglu and Aslanbey deaths. I cast my vote for Zehra and Sultana. We still need HAG and GT around for their big reveal. And I’ll give Yaren a temporary pass if she marries the smelly, warty, Pasha’s son because quick death is too good for her.
Maybe Hazar is bad at Math and he doesn’t watch dizis. Otherwise he would have figured out Miran is his son.
