Herc #67 part 1

Miran shouts and the Aslanbey cockroaches assemble on the patio. He informs them that Hazar says someone pushed him. Did he say who, Azize asks? Miran shouts his own name. Big gasp from Elif. Are you so surprised, Azize asks, you expected your enemy to tell the truth when he had the chance to ruin you? This is what the Sadoglus do. They use their children to carry out their revenge [she left out, just like me] Why are you so angry?

Miran flies into a rant—because I didn’t know he would go that far! I didn’t think him capable! He looked me in the eyes and lied to my face! Sultana interjects, don’t get upset. They are not worth it. Let them talk, let them fear you. Stupid Sultana tells him he should go to them and declare he pushed Hazar.

Miran shuts that down and continues to rant. Somebody in this house pushed him but they are too scared to reveal themselves. Poor Elif is looking mighty guilty. Miran demands, whoever it is, show your face and admit you pushed that man!

Azize asks why. Are you going to deliver that person to the enemy to clean your name? Miran denies he would do that, but he just needs to know. Who ever did that, he continues, didn’t just hurt Hazar but me, too. After so many years of hate, whoever did this robbed me of the chance to be with the love of my life! I should be with my wife, but I’m stuck here. And why? Because of you, he shouts, my family… so I can protect you and keep the family together. Despite the harm you have caused behind my back, I don’t hurt anyone! I’m here, he yells. Are you happy? I’m alone. Mission accomplished, ladies!

Gonul calmly speaks up. Are you blaming us for what that man said? Azize adds, can’t you understand, no one pushed Hazar. He fell. Elif begins to hyperventilate. He came here with a gun, Azize says, if one of the guards had pushed him, he would have admitted it. HAG asks, are you insinuating one of us pushed him and hid it? In this family there are no murderers or bloodthirsty people [she left out, except me] She warns, don’t turn against your family in favor of the enemy. This is that man’s plan. How can you believe his lies?

Miran asks, grandmother, do you always have an answer for every question? What do I do now?! Azize sees her opening and goes for it, I told you from the beginning. This is all on the Sadoglus, but you thought I was lying. They exploit. My family has no enemies, she asserts, they (the Sadoglus) made it up. They shot up your car and your house. They kidnapped your wife. Hazar tried to frame me. He brought that man, who fortunately had a conscience, and refused to play that bastard’s game. Elif looks sick.

Azize continues, that’s how they act. Hazar couldn’t do anything to separate you from your wife, so now he says you pushed him to tear Reyyan away. Miran says, Reyyan’s not leaving my side, I won’t allow it. I will prove to Reyyan what really happened and Hazar Sadoglu will pay! Elif collapses under the weight of her guilt [or maybe she couldn’t stand the screaming anymore.] They all rush to her.

Cut to the Sadoglu konak. Nasuh has asked Cihan’s family for a meeting. He says, I need all of you to be very cautious from now on. That animal (Miran) has to pay for everything. Cihan reminds his father that they promised Hazar not to do anything. At least let’s wait until he comes home, he says.

Nasuh stands up and declares, that harpy Azize and Miran won’t stop until they finish what they have begun. We have to be one step ahead of them. Cihan asks his father, please don’t do anything. My brother is still fighting for his life. Nasuh says they will keep the promise and they won’t take any lives. They will speed up the marriage between Azat and Elif. Yaren smirky smiles.

Herc #67 part 2

All eyes are on Azat. He asks GT, they told you, too? Good now that everyone is here, you should know that I never agreed to it . I didn’t and I won’t, Azat says. Forget it and don’t bring it up again. How can I make an innocent girl pay for the sins of her family? We would be no different than them. I’m not marrying Elif, Azat tells everyone. He adds, they are the ones who should be scared. When my uncle returns home then we will sit down and decide what to do. This isn’t the way. Azat walks.

Everyone is at Elif’s bedside. Miran asks Elif if she’s feeling any better. He asks her what happened. She says her pressure dropped, she’s been affected by everything. Now she just needs to rest. Azize says they should leave but Sultana wants to stay with Elif. The poor thing is traumatized like the rest of us, she opines. Elif says that’s not necessary.

As they start to file out, Elif calls…wait! We get a flashback to the incident. We see Hazar from the back. He’s standing near the top of the stairs. When he turns, he is surprised to see Elif there and she looks surprised, too. She acts on reflex and pushes him away. Hazar shouts and falls down the stairs. End flashback.

Elif takes Miran’s hands. She tells him, I… know you’re innocent. I know you didn’t push Hazar. Everything will be fine. Miran tells her not to worry and settles her back down. They leave her. Elif sits up and grabs her phone to dial Azat. Answer, Azat, she says, you are the only one who can understand. There is no answer. Elif sobs, I can’t let my family be destroyed. I can’t let anyone get hurt.

Sultana barges into Elif’s room. Don’t be scared, she tells her niece. I know what you did and why you did it. I know you are incapable of hurting anyone. I understand. Holding in your guilt will be worse. I know from personal experience. You will feel better if you tell me. You pushed Hazar, didn’t you? Elif is panicked. Don’t worry, Sultana assures her, it will be our secret. You’re doing it to protect your family. Sometimes you behave like a brat but in this house, nobody’s heart is purer than yours, No one would ever blame you.

Elif sobs, I swear I didn’t mean to but when I saw him sneaking around with a gun, I got scared. Sutlana tells her to calm down or else everyone will find out. Elif says, she doesn’t want to live with the guilt. She wants to tell Hazar that it wasn’t Miran who pushed him. I don’t want anything to happen to Miran, she cries. Now Miran and Reyyan can’t be happy and it’s my fault.

Sultana asks what would change by confessing? Do you think that would stop the Sadoglus? It’s you or Miran. If they get a confession, they will have proof for an attack.

Hazar goes for x-rays and Zehra and Reyyan stay behind.

Meanwhile, Azize keeps spilling poison into Miran’s ear. I wasn’t wrong about the Sadoglus, she says, I wish I’d been wrong. That would have been easier than seeing my grandson devastated. Miran answers, there will be consequences for all he’s done, and Reyyan will be first to make him pay. But I have to prove that her father has been lying to her and to others. I won’t let any of this destroy our family, Miran promises. Do what you must, Azize says.

Gonul shows up and intervenes, stop grandmother! You should be stopping Miran, not motivating him to continue the war. That family is dangerous, she says. Dangerous or not, Miran responds, I’m not afraid of them.

Gonul tells him, I know you don’t care about yourself, but could you think about us? Look at Elif. She had nothing to do with that night, but the anguish is killing her. Azize offers, this is no time to be scared. The problem is that Reyyan is still Miran’s wife. HAG says to Miran, you can’t let that happen. It’s not right. Miran agrees, I won’t let our lives be ruined by a lie. Call me if Elif gets worse. With that, Miran leaves.

dondi356

Herc #67 part 3

Gonul asks HAG, why did you send him after Reyyan? Azize replies, what I say doesn’t matter. He would have gone regardless. If I tried to stop him, he’d be more upset. Miran needs our support now. if he doesn’t feel he has our support, he will start doing things on his own and that isn’t good. Gonul asks if it’s her intention to bring Miran and Reyyan back together.

Azize says that Gonul’s jealousy blinds her, while her (HAG’s) only concern is Miran. We will separate them but have patience. Gonul says she’s patient but there’s a limit [haven’t we heard this before?] You ask for patience for many things. Azize says, relax, you reward will be enormous, and she walks away. We’ll see, Gonul says.

Hazar is in the x-ray room waiting for someone to take him back. Miran has used the telenovela transporter to magically appear. Hazar thinks someone is coming to take him—how much longer to I have to be here, he asks. Miran answers, until you confess the truth. Why did you lie about your fall? You looked your daughter in the eyes and shamelessly lied to her. But that not the first time you’ve lied, right? I understand you don’t care about me, but don’t you care about your daughter? How could you do it? Once she discovers the truth, that her father, her hero, lied, she will be destroyed. Did you think of that?

Hazar answers, it was the only thing I could do to save my daughter’s life. I couldn’t let her remain in that house full of murderers. Miran shoots back, I have protected her and I still will, but you are the one who tore her away from me. Now you are lying to her. You did it to separate us. That’s the only reason to lie to your daughter. You always say I slander you, but now you do it to me.

And it makes you burn inside, doesn’t it, Hazar asks? It eats away at you until it drives you crazy because you didn’t push me. You feel the immense desperation of injustice that I’ve been living with for many years. I didn’t kill your parents, but you don’t believe me. Now Reyyan doesn’t believe you. That’s how it feels to be slandered. Now you can understand me. You feel trapped in desperation. You understand me, Miran? I didn’t do it for revenge. I lied to save my daughter’s life. But you believe your lies and you dragged my daughter into that darkness.

Hazar continues, you can’t protect Reyyan from your grandmother’s treachery. You were lucky once and discovered what she was planning but your grandmother will not stop. She will try again and if you’re not lucky this time, Hazar asks, what will you do?

If you really care about your daughter’s life, Miran replies, protect her from your father. Because Reyyan’s life isn’t in danger at the house where you got her. The real danger is in the house where you’ll take her after your lie. Understand?

Zehra worries that it’s taking a while and what if something happened. She wants to go check. Reyyan tells her she will go.

Hazar accuses Miran of confusing him and making his granny out to be innocent. Miran realizes that Azat didn’t tell Hazar anything, so he does the honors. If I didn’t take Reyyan from that house on henna night, Miran says, your father would have killed Reyyan and slandered us. Hazar can’t believe it.

Miran makes his case, remember… your father tried to kill Reyyan before… at the vineyard house. You entrusted me with your daughter’s life. If Reyyan dies, it won’t be at the hands of my grandmother. The blood will be on your father’s hands. What you’ve done is jeopardize Reyyan’s life. Your lies separated us, but the worst damage is what you’re doing to your own daughter. I gave my word that you would die in Reyyan’s heart, but I don’t have to do anything. Once she knows the truth, she will have killed you in her own heart. [I think they are both a little right and a little wrong. Reyyan is not safe anywhere in Midyat.]

dondi356

Herc #67 part 4

As Reyyan approaches x-ray, she hears Miran’s voice and rushes inside. Miran, stay away from my father. If you touch him, I swear I’ll kill you. Miran asks her to calm down and hear him out. I didn’t come to hurt your father, he tells her. They why did you come, she asks? Every time I turn around, I hear you threaten my father. Hazar says, hija let’s go. There’s nothing more to talk about.

Miran shouts, you want her to leave so she doesn’t discover your lies! Reyyan stands between Miran and Hazar. She says, this has nothing to do with my father. Don’t blame him. I am the one that never wants to see you again. Miran implores, Hazar Sadolgu, tell the truth before Reyyan discovers it! Tell her. I’ll give you one more chance.

Reyyan says, I already know the truth. You removed the blindfold from my eyes. Miran counters, you said I was afraid to see the truth. But this time you are the one who is scared. Your father looked you in the eyes and lied to you. Don’t believe it. I can’t let you go back to that house.

Miran reaches out to take her. Reyyan pulls away, don’t touch me! You’re nothing to me, Miran. Remember that? It’s what you told me that morning, she says, now I’m the one telling you. But I’m not saying it for revenge, but because of what you’ve done to my father. No matter what you do, I’m not going anywhere with you. Get out. I never want to see you again.

Don’t do this Reyyan, Miran pleads, don’t leave me. Give me a chance to show you the truth. Let’s search for it together. He reaches for her again and she pulls back. Rey calls out for a nurse. Then she tells Miran, it hurts, doesn’t it? I asked for that a thousand times, but you didn’t listen.

Fine, Miran answers, I made a mistake. But don’t do the same. Don’t repeat my error. It’s too late, Reyyan replies. The nurse comes in and they proceed to wheel Hazar out of the room. Miran calls after his wife, Reyyan, don’t go. He shouts at Hazar, you won’t tell her the truth, will you? But we will discover the truth, Reyyan.

Hazar is back in his room. He asks Zehra to call Nasuh. She worries, is something wrong? Don’t hide anything from me. Hazar assures her nothing is wrong, he just wants to speak to his father. Zehra gets the phone, dials, and holds it to Hazar’s ear. Hazar asks his father to come to the hospital.

Zehra is sure that there’s something they are not telling her. Hazar says he has to speak with his father, there is something he must tell him, and he couldn’t do it in front of the others. I’m going to tell him this war has to end, Hazar says, I’m going to ask him not to seek retribution.

Sultana heads out on the upper terrace to make a call to Yaren. Let’s see what the albino snake is up to, she says. Yılan Yaren is primping at the mirror, all smiles. Who could care about Elif right now, she tells her reflection. Things are going to get ugly again, she says with glee. I should change my clothes, the Aslanbeys could show up and I should look my best.

Yaren answers the “red headed serpent’s” call. They trade some snarky comments and then Sultana asks for an update. She tells Yaren, I spoke with Elif. She’s going to agree to marry your brother sooner than I expected. What’s going on with Azat? Yaren informs her, we thought about it, and we changed our minds. What, Sultana asks, are you messing with me?

Nope. Miran and Reyyan are already separated, the albino snake says, no sense in going through all that trouble now. Sultana warns, this isn’t a kid’s game. Yes they separated, but Reyyan could show up tomorrow and reconcile with Miran. How can we guarantee our safety? How will you stop Azat? Yaren shoots back, we will worry about that later. I have to go. She quickly hangs up. Sultana is ticked, this isn’t over over. Soon you will call to beg, she says.

Herc #67 part 5

Nasuh shows up at the hospital. Hazar asks Zehra and Reyyan to leave. He asks Nasuh, were you planning on killing my daughter on her henna night? Nasuh replies, who filled your head with those lies? The Aslanbeys? Don’t deny it anymore, Hazar asks, don’t make this pain worse. Nasuh begins to look guilty. He tries to defend himself… son…at the time… But he stops there.

Hazar responds, I will never forget what you did. He lays down the new rules. If you want me to ever look at you again, you will never touch Reyyan again. A very ashamed Nasuh gives a slight nod. Hazar continues, you are going to protect her when she returns home. You are going to treat her like a true granddaughter. Reyyan is my daughter and my life. Take Reyyan home. Embrace her and give her a seat at the table. Protect her. When I get home, I want to see my daughter is safe and sound. If one hair on her head is touched, you will be to blame. Promise me, dad. Nasuh quickly promises and wipes tears.

Hazar calls Rey back into the room. Nasuh tells her, let’s go home, Reyyan. Hazar adds, your grandpa will take you home. Gul is there and you should spend time with your sister. Zehra is worried but Hazar assures her that Rey will be protected by her grandfather and her uncle. Nasuh says that’s right.

Outside the hospital, Rey asks GT, what did my father tell you? We see Miran lurking nearby, watching. Nasuh’s answer is short, you heard him. He said to take you home. I heard, Rey says, but I know you don’t want me in that house. I know how much you hate me. I beg you, if you know anything, don’t keep it to yourself. You know exactly what happened between Dilsah and my father. That shocks the old walrus. He finally says, I’m not going to stay here and argue about something that happened in the past.

Reyyan reasons, the only thing we have in common is our love for Gul and my father. I know you love them very much. I love them more. That’s why I’m asking for your help. If you know more, tell me. So I can find the evidence and prove my father’s innocence. Your father is innocent, Nasuh replies, if that’s clear to you, then you know everything. There’s nothing more. He walks to the car.

Miran freaks as he watches Rey go with GT. Why are you with that man? What the hell are you doing, Hazar Sadoglu?! Miran gets in his car and drives off.

Nasuh and Reyyan arrive at the konak. Melike is thrilled to see her and calls out. The Sadoglu cockroaches come scurrying. Azat is happy, Yaren is not. Rey asks for Gul. She’s asleep. Nasuh announces, from now on, Reyyan is staying with us. Surprised looks all around. Nasuh continues, we’ve experienced several tragedies in the past months. Now things will return to how they were. We will stick together like a family.

Handan whispers to Cihan, her parents did something to bring her back. Your brother is behind it. Cihan warns her to be quiet. Azat welcomes Rey home. Yaren pipes up, how will this work? She’s the enemy’s wife. How can she stay here? What if Miran shows up? [safe bet he will] Nasuh yells at Yaren. Reyyan walks away. Nasuh raises his voice, I said what I had to say! When Hazar gets home, he will have his daughter beside him. We will all live here together and that’s that! Everyone glares at Yaren before leaving and Hanife circles around her for effect.

Handan stays behind with Yaren. What do you think you are doing, she asks? Do you think you will accomplish anything by throwing tantrums and undermining your elders? What is your problem? Yaren says it’s nothing and hurries away. Handan asks, Lord, why did you give me those kids? I’m not ungrateful, but would you mind watching what they do? Give them a bit of sense. And don’t let this baby be like them. [what that baby needs, is different set of parents] I think she said the baby should be like Reyyan.

Herc #67 part 6

Reyyan goes to her room and a hand goes over her mouth and pulls her back. Yep, it’s Miran. He wants her to listen for a couple of minutes and then he will go. Okay, talk. What lies will you tell me now, she asks. He notices she is not wearing the ring. He asks. You said you would tell me when I could remove it from my neck and put it on my finger, but you showed me that I should put it away forever.

Miran vows, that ring will soon be back on your finger when I show you the truth. I’m sorry to inform you that won’t happen, she replies. He says one way or the other we will discover the truth together. But you can’t stay here now, he tells her, you’re coming with me. He grabs her arm and she pulls away—I’m not going with you. He tells her it’s not safe here.

Rey retorts, and the mansion where my father was almost killed is? The mansion where your grandmother made you believe I left you? Is that where it’s safe? I can protect you, Miran says. Thanks, I don’t need your protection, Rey answers. I need you to call off your revenge and listen to me. I needed you to overcome your anger and you didn’t. That’s how you could protect me and everyone. But you preferred to continue with your revenge. You couldn’t even protect me from you.

Miran says, if I wanted revenge, he’d be dead. But I didn’t do it. I admit I wanted him to be dead to you, but I didn’t try to kill him. Rey calls Mir a liar. She accuses him of stealing the letter when she gave him Hazar’s clothes. You wanted the evidence to disappear, she says, the truth is in that letter, and you couldn’t deal with it. Instead of accepting you mother and my father were in love, you tried to kill… Miran interrupts, my mother…was not…in love with your father.

If that letter exists, he says, I wouldn’t ignore its contents. Reyyan begs to differ. You would, she says, you already did. You didn’t want to undermine your reasons. Miran wants to be clear, he lied when he accused me of pushing him and he’s lying about that letter, too. I don’t believe it existed. Rey replies, you say he’s lying but was the EMT lying? You think my dying father was plotting and forced the EMT to lie? Miran takes a second to think that over.

Yaren runs into Azat out on the terrace. She stops him, are you going to make sure that Reyyan is alright? After all the problem she’s caused, she found a way back into the konak. Azat answers, what did you expect? This is Reyyan’s home, he growls at his sister. Listen, Yaren, don’t do anything to make her life impossible. If you do, there will be consequences [ooh, the smelly, warty, Pasha’s son?] Azat walks away. [Does he really believe Yaren can be scared off that easily? We don’t.]

Back to ReyMir. You don’t want to know the truth, Rey says. All you want is revenge. That letter was our chance, but you rejected it. That’s why I don’t believe you. Leave or I’ll scream for help. Miran says he won’t leave without her. If not to the mansion, at least let me take you to the hotel. This (Sadoglu konak) is the worst place you could be. Rey, shouts, enough, Miran! And at that moment, Azat opens the door.

And we are out.

Another super excellent recap dondi356. Everything was so well described, it was like watching it again, without all the Aslanbey theatrics and yelling. I was sort of okay with Miran’s anger with the family, just when things were getting better for he and Reyyan. I have a feeling it is going to be like that very often, someone putting up roadblocks.

“They use their children to carry out their revenge [she left out, just like me]”

“In this family there are no murderers or bloodthirsty people [she left out, except me]” Azize did not hesitate to enhance her agenda with Hazar’s stupid, stupid lie!

Poor Elif, I hope she can get through this unscathed and not in a mental ward. Why didn’t they call a doctor to check her low blood pressure and not allow her to self-diagnose? I am glad we had the flashback to what really happened that night with Hazar. I agree with your take dondi356, Elif’s push away reaction was out of fear.

I will give it to Miran, using the telenovela transporter (so funny) he had a pair of avocados confronting Hazar in the X-ray room. I am glad he told Hazar that Reyyan was in danger with GT and what had happened before. [I think they are both a little right and a little wrong. Reyyan is not safe anywhere in Midyat.] I think you are totally correct.

The last interaction with ReyMir, before Azat waltzed into her bedroom, was the baseline for everything. If Miran doesn’t give up the venganza, nothing will ever work between the two.

Such a complicated episode. Thank you dondi356 for adding some clarity!

Hercai

Dondi, thank you for every detail of this episode .yes you did....no,i didnt....you are.. .no I'm not...and in it goes .

Is the old walrus ( good call) softening toward Rey? If so, he's a better man than venveful, one note Az.

this is the fifth Turkish dizi I have watched , and it seems that the premise of them all is a wonderful , strong, heroic , romantic , protective Galan who is very jealous and violent when it comes to his one true love..and then he goes BSC.

OT...I think I am on episode 113 or so of KPA....gah..how much more suffering and anguish are the writers going to heap onto poor Omer.Bless his steadfast loyal pals Pelin and Arda. Uff

Herc

Thanks, VVS and Susanlynn.

Sometimes I feel like I’m watching the same episode over and over again. Writers: stop the cut and paste!

There is a lesson in this for Miran, I hope he learns it. I don’t know if it’s avocados or just that obsessive personality that drives him. He’s like a machine that gets stuck in a loop. I have such a hard time sympathizing with him. ITA, VVS, if Miran doesn’t give up the venganza…. Writers: are you listening?

Who the hell has that letter?

dondi356

OT- Susanlynn

The Turks love the drama. Engin brilliantly played a BSC character in “Bir Bulut Olsam”, his first lead role. His character, Mustafa Bulut, did a lot of awful things, but I kinda felt sorry for him, too.

So, you’ve seen 5 dizis and 3 were with Engin! He has a new movie coming to Netflix, “Yolun Açık Olsun”, at the end of the year. In October, he’s starting work on a new series, “Kaçış” for one of the digital platforms. It’s 8 episodes and it is based on a story he wrote.

KPA #113? Omer has learned a hard truth and he’s got 51 more episodes of suffering to go. You’re right, it’s good he has Arda and Pelin. Elif just wants him to quit his job. I also feel sorry for Elvan and Melike.

Thanks very much, dondi356, for yet another excellent recap, complete with appropriately snarky asides.

I think Miran has access not just to a telenovela transporter but also to an invisibility cloak borrowed from Harry Potter. How else could he have gotten not just into the hospital area where Hazar was waiting to be brought back to his room but also into Reyyan's room in the Sadoglu konak without anyone seeing him?

When I watched Elif's flashback, I couldn't tell whether she actually touched Hazar or he was so startled that he lost his balance and fell. I went back and watched it again just now, and I still can't tell. What IS clear is that Elif had no intention of pushing him. But we knew that all along.

Dondi, I too feel as if I'm watching the same episode over and over again. Perhaps that's why Telemundo is apparently bringing the novela to an end sooner than we'd expected. The previews for a new novela in the 9 pm time slot indicate it will begin in about 4 weeks (Oct. 26). I don't know whether Telemundo has plans to move Hercai to a different time slot (8pm? 2 pm?) or just bring it to some sort of conclusion. Frankly, I think I'm ready for it to conclude.

OT...Dondi, thanks for the information about Engin's upcoming shows . I will look for the one on Netflix.

The Turkish dizi that really ticked me off was Amor Eterno. I stopped watching it , but I did watch The last few episodes and the finale which shocked me . I don't remember ever watching Mexican telenovela that killed off the galan, and I have been watching them for 14 years. However, the ultimate separation of soul mates is death . Do the Turks believe that love is stronger than death ?

Herc

Thanks, Juanita.

Yes—" invisibility cloak borrowed from Harry Potter”. Miran made good use of it this episode.

This show was a big hit that ran 69 Turkish eps and it’s been sold to lots of countries. But I’ve seen better dizis. I checked the ratings and Uni is beating it, but not by a huge margin. BTW, Uni is beating Telemundo in every primetime slot. Maybe after 80 or so eps, they are just taking a break and it will be back. Or maybe like you said, they are relegating it to another time slot. Or maybe it will disappear. If that’s the case, I can always finish it online in Turkish.

Thank you, dondi356. The recap covers everything and I appreciate the notes.

Everybody sticks to their story, nobody is budging.

"Then she tells Miran, it hurts, doesn’t it? I asked for that a thousand times, but you didn’t listen."
"Fine, Miran answers, I made a mistake. But don’t do the same. Don’t repeat my error."
This exchange attracted my attention. The way Reyyan brings up the fateful day in the cabin shows that it still hurts her, she hasn't forgiven. It did sound a little like payback, even though she denied it.

Dondi253: "There is a lesson in this for Miran, I hope he learns it." I don't know. Has Reyyan learned the lesson? I think there is a lesson in this for her too. She has seen how Azize's and Miran's accusations affect her father. She has seen that all Miran has is Azize's word. Her position is the same as Miran's. All she has is Hazar's word. Thanks so much, dondi, for your usual terrific recap! Your asides were spot on as well. I especially liked the "she left outs" where Pot Azize is calling the Kettle Sadoglus black.

And ITA about how repetitive these conversations are getting. My eyes are starting to glaze over when Azize goes into yada yada Hazar killed your parents.

I was hoping for a miracle during the Hazar/Miran conversation in the MRI room. Could it be, might it be...that Miran had his phone on record when Hazar admitted he'd lied? Nah.

Could Zehra and Sultana perhaps have a cup of tea in that plaza in Midyat? And could a lightning strike wipe out both of them?

The red-haired snake managed to suppress Elif's desire to tell the truth, which would have gotten Miran and Reyyan back together. Not sure of her exact motives. I suppose she's still hoping for her daughter to end up in a loveless marriage. Or she needs to keep Elif quiet in case blurting out having pushed Hazar would somehow lead to her also blurting out having seen Sultana leave her husband to burn up in that car.

It will be interesting how Hazar behaves toward his father when he returns from the hospital. I sincerely hope his vow to never forget results in his avoiding the "old walrus". Nasuh also reminds me of an elephant seal:

Oh well, it appears the link doesn't work, at least on my computer. It's a picture of an elephant seal with its mouth wide open, roaring, probably at younger males who have entered the area of his harem. I have been on a docent tour of where these animals hang out at Año Nuevo State Park.

herc/Telemundo

I think I will be in the minority here, but I hope the Hercai doesn’t go away. This is my first dizi and I have enjoyed it more than most TN’s I have watched. The acting is a bit over the top but the cinematography, clothes and intrigue still have me hooked. Granted, most of you have tons more TN watching experience, but if this dizi is not the best you have seen dondi356, I do look forward to watching others at some point.

If Hercai does go away, at least I can finally stop restraining myself from watching ahead on YouTube. I am not really too excited about the upcoming lineup for Telemundo. Guess I will just have to wait and see.

Gran Final of "CAFE" will be tomorrow night 9:00 PM CST.

Thanks, Lucio and novelera.

“The way Reyyan brings up the fateful day… she hasn't forgiven. It did sound a little like payback...” “Has Reyyan learned the lesson?” You raise some interesting points, Lucio. Because Miran is the big squeaky wheel in this dizi, I’m most anxious to see him get the grease. I feel Reyyan has been making better progress, but she still has a way to go. Hercai is turning into “Groundhog Day” in Midyat.

Reyyan will be devastated when she finds out her father lied and more so when she discovers her mother’s part in it. It’s horrible what Zehra has set in motion. She took advantage of Hazar’s weaknesses and used them against Reyyan. This is from the woman who worried about her daughter finding out Hazar is not her bio dad. Zehra is no better than the other schemers.

novelera, “might it be...that Miran had his phone on record when Hazar admitted he'd lied?” That would have been nice, but would he have the guts to play it for Rey and watch her heart break? He could have used it as leverage against Hazar to come clean. A “lightning strike” on Zehra and Sultana would be most welcome. And your link worked for me—Nasuh as an elephant seal—lol.

Herc/Telemundo/Dizi

VVS, I wouldn’t mind if Hercai continued but if it doesn't, we can watch online at our own pace. Telemundo might think it’s too long to continuously air. Univision had Amor Eterno and La Hija del Embajador take breaks, too.

On the other hand, Telemundo messed with dizis, El Sultan and La Sultana. IMHO, they are both great shows. I posted links to them with English subs. If you can find it, Fatmagül is one of the best I’ve seen in any language. Kara Para Aşk, another fave, is currently on Netflix.

Nett, I wasn’t correcting you about Amor Prohibido. I just thought I read somewhere it was coming to one of the Uni channels. I see it’s going to be on Kanal D. That’s a cable station, and unfortunately, I don’t have access to it.

I have a huge favor to ask. I’ve been without a tv the last four nights and want to catch the finale tomorrow. Anything important I should know about? Last I saw, Ivan was still pretending like he mattered even though he was tossed out of the office by Bernardo, Marcela didn’t get the abortion and I assume she and Lemarcus made up because they’re great together, Paula actually had a job and apologized for her part in people losing money, Lucia isn’t apologizing for anything because nothing is her fault and her life isn’t the result of her terrible horrible bad decisions, Marcia was threatened by Wilson, and the women’s collective farm is getting going. Not sure anyone else matters unless Aurelio and Maracucha got married. Any brief update would be so appreciated. Won’t have time to catch up before tomorrow. Ugh

BIG SPOILERS IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON WATCHING THE REST OF THE EPISODES LATER. DO NOT READ!

Kelly, Ivan tried to cheat the family and sold the coffee crop the Vallejos plus Gaviota and her mother are counting on to avoid financial ruin. He sold it for way less than its worth and got a 30% advance on the actual crop that is currently being picked. He was about to leave the country when his mother stopped him. She forced him to sit through the prosecutor listing Sebastian's "crimes".

I confess I don't understand the Colombian legal system. Maybe this scene involved what we call in the U.S. a preliminary hearing where both the prosecutor and the defense call a few witnesses to see if the case warrants a jury trial.

Gaviota went to the bus station and convinced Wilson to come back and testify about how Ivan and Carlos Mario, with the help of Pablo Emilio, set up the money laundering scheme. Ivan was taken away in handcuffs and Sebastian released.

Lucia refused to help Ivan and was very motherly toward her child. Sebastian had set up some sort of financial arrangement for her child, not his, to get a monthly sum and for Lucia to get money to care for the child. Lucia is planning to return to NYC. Looks like they're sort of redeeming Lucia.

Lucrecia visited Ivan in that odd jail they have where it looks like an office when the visitors come. She refused to visit him ever again.

Don Pedro lured Carlos Mario to come see him by hinting at a perhaps fatal disease. Carlos Mario was on his way to flee the country. His father talked to him long enough for the police to grab up Carlos Mario, who was taken off in handcuffs.

Doesn't look like there are many other shoes to drop. Maybe Monday's episode will involve a wedding and everyone being happy.

VVS, I started watching Mexican telenovelas on Univision 14 years ago when I channel surfed into Alborado starring Fernando Colunga. Then I watched two other shows be starred in " Amor Real" and " Pasion." They were my three favorite telenovelas . Then I started watching my first Turkish dizi Amor Eterno , but I gave up On it except to watch tbd finale . Next , I watched " La Hija del Embajador." I almost gave up on it , but dondi encouraged me to keep watching . I liked Engin, the galan. Then , I started reading the recaps for Hercai which Dondi was also recapping . I didn't think I got Telemundo, but I do and started watching . Dondi recommended Fatmagul , so I started watching on YouTube . I kind of jumped all around the episodes , but I finally saw them all, and it became my new favorite telenovela. I love the scenes of Turkey and Turkish customs and scenes of daily life...the food, houses, traditions . Currently , I am watching Kara Pafa Ask on Netflix which also stars Engin, my new favorite galan and my second favorite telenovela. I am hooked on Turkish dizi and Engin thanks to dondi.

Thank you, Novelera! I was sure a plane crash would be in Ivan’s and Lucia’s future. But not if Ivan is in the hoosegow and Lucia actually cares about Sofia. Good for her. She had a awful time with her father but that doesn’t excuse some of her choices. Going back to NYC is a good idea, especially if it comes with some extra Vallejo cash. And glad to know Marcia will be safe. I liked her and hope she and Lucrecia can be friends again. They both need a friend.

Dondi...no worries on the correction or info on Prohibido. I surf between several latin channels and often 4get where I saw something so no offense taken with that.

So...I see the discussion about ending this one early. I will be disappointed if they do. I don't watch ahead but I'm enjoying this one and while I don't know how it ends...I wouldn't want it to end prematurely on telemundo...but we have no control.

Dondi...If by chance it does end early and you continue to watch...will be you or someone be able to give us an occassional update. There just seems to be too many open issues for them to end this one early without a crappy ending.

I've watched several turk tns and so far, this is ranking high...but I can't see anything knocking Fatmagul off the pedestal. The acting was superb.

Speaking of ending early...where did we land with Embajador. I lost track on the discussion about this one going 4ward. I was enjoying Embajador and ranked it highly until that unfortunate human taco thing....but I don't want to digress.

From what dondi has posted here about Turkish dizis, I can't imagine Telemundo ever showing all of one. I know El Sultán went on for waaaay longer than what was shown.

I believe dondi said Hercai had 69 episodes of, what, an hour and a half to two hours each? They are already showing previews of a sappy looking comedy to replace Hercai. So they are either going to find some reasonable end point, do massive cuts, or put more episodes on at a non-prime-time hour. It would be ideal if they'd just burn it off during the daytime and those of us with DVRs could keep up. I'm not optimistic, though.

Susanlynn and dondi356 I really appreciate the best of Turkish TN list and where to find them. I enjoyed your TN watching history Susanlynn. 😊

I do plan on watching Hercai to the end, so Nett, I would be happy to do update recaps if Telemundo does move it to another time slot or even if it is just off my YouTube viewing. Thank you for offering to cover this weeks Wednesday episode.

See you all for tonight’s episode!

Most of the Turkish eps have been around 2:20. There’s no way they can edit to finish this in a month. We shall see if it ends with a “continuará”. If that’s so, I’ll wait a bit. I don’t want to spoil if we pick up again. If anyone wants to go ahead, the Turkish episodes are on YouTube. So far, the English auto translations have been reliable. There’s no guarantee that they will remain that way.

Nett, Embajador ended with a “Continuará….Tercera Temporada Próximamente”. There was speculation that it would return after La Desalmada. If I hear anything, I’ll post.
