Do we know yet what replaces ECDLP?
 

If my TV Guide listings are correct it says that the original version of La Usurpadora (1998) will start on 11/3. I thought UniMas already aired LaU earlier this year….? That’s kinda strange…we’ll see if it’s accurate I guess.
 

ECDLP #121


RECAP PART ONE

NOTE: I may add some scenes to the recap that have been cut out as I am also referring to YouTube AND the original recaps to do my recaps this time around so I don’t have to rewind or FF too much. Will likely do the same with the gran final on Monday if necessary and as best as I can.

- Milagros stares at the urn with Federico’s ashes. She tells Rafaela that she can’t sleep, she's worried about Marcelo. She wishes they were closer. He is her only son. Rafaela encourages her to call Marcelo. He doesn’t answer.

- Amador has brought Marcelo bound and gagged in a company van to the factory.

- Lalo and Tere are at Nazario's front door. Tere figures Nazario has found out about Nora and is with Lucia. Lalo sees Marcelo’s car keys on the ground and gets a bad feeling.

- Milagros calls Casa Gaxiola and Nazario tells her that Marcelo was planning to return to the city. He’ll try and get ahold of Marcelo. Lucia is worried that something bad has happened to Marcelo. Nazario tells her not to calm down. As he is leaving the house, Lalo and Tere arrive and Lalo tells him that Marcelo’s car was still parked at his house and he found the car keys on the ground. Lalo wonders if Marcelo was assaulted again but Nazario doesn’t think so. Nazario calls the police.

- Amador holds a sharp object to Marcelo’s face as they stand in the factory courtyard.

- Rebeca has a nightmare/flashback to Nora’s suicide. She wakes up calling Nora’s name. Magdalena comes in and tells her that they haven’t brought Nora back yet. Rebeca says to Magdalena “Tell me it’s not true. Tell me that Nora is okay, that is all a nightmare.” Magdalena replies that she wishes she could tell Rebeca that. Rebeca asks why God is punishing her and that she should’ve been the one that died. Magdalena hugs her and Rebeca cries saying “I want to be with my daughter.”

- Lucia wonders where Marcelo could be. Nazario says he already informed the police. Lucia is overwhelmed by everything that’s happening. Lucia doesn’t care if she never sees Marcelo again, she just wants him to be okay. She wants to call Milagros to let her know that Marcelo is missing. Magdalena comes downstairs and Lucia tells her that Marcelo is missing and instead asks Nazario to call Milagros.

- The detectives arrive at Casa Zúñiga and Rodrigo asks if they have news about Amador. They say not exactly and ask Rodrigo and Brigida what kind of relationship Amador has with Marcelo. Brigida says that Amador hates Marcelo and blames him for all the bad things that have happened to him. The detectives say that Marcelo is missing and Nazario told them that Amador might be involved. Brigida thinks that’s ridiculous to accuse Amador of being a kidnapper but the detectives say that if Nazario is right that complicates things unnecessarily. Since Rodrigo and Brigida know Amador best where do they think Marcelo might be? The wheels seem to start turning in Rodrigo’s head.

- Amador has Marcelo tied to a chair with things burning nearby. As Amador drinks from a liquor bottle he says aloud that Marcelo made him lose everything: his family, his son’s love and 20 years of work and also says that Alonso died hating him. He says that Marcelo destroyed him so now it’s his turn to destroy Marcelo. Meanwhile Marcelo manages to break free of the binds on his wrists. He grabs something (a tool, perhaps?) and hits Amador with it, knocking him down. Marcelo runs through the factory trying to find an unlocked exit. Amador shouts that everything is locked. Marcelo tries a phone on the wall but it doesn’t work.

- Lucia calls Milagros and says she doesn’t know where Marcelo is but knows he hasn’t left Puebla. She tells Milagros that Nora just died hours earlier and will call her to let her know if she gets news about Marcelo. Magdalena tells Lucia that Marcelo might’ve been taken to the factory by Amador. Lucia is worried that Amador could kill Marcelo.
 

ECDLP #121

PART TWO

- The police arrive at the factory. Nazario points them to another entrance. They move in and some of the officers go one way while the detective tells Rodrigo to stay put and has Nazario follow him. Marcelo tackles Amador from behind. A struggle ensues in which Amador eventually gets the upper hand. As he lifts his hand holding the sharp object and says Marcelo will die, Rodrigo comes from around a corner and tells Amador not to do it. Amador says he has nothing to lose. Rodrigo tells him to not ruin the last ounce of affection he has for him. The cops then move in, guns drawn. Amador lowers the object as one of the detectives pulls him off Marcelo and Nazario helps Marcelo to his feet asking him if he’s okay. The cops take Amador away as Rodrigo stares after him and cries.

- Marcelo refuses want medical care and the head detective tells him to go down to the police station to give testimony when he’s recovered enough. Rodrigo goes to leave and Marcelo thanks him. He replies that he didn’t do it for Marcelo but for his dad and Lucia. Nazario instructs Marcelo to call Milagros as soon as he’s cleaned up.

- Rodrigo confirms to Brigida that Amador had Marcelo in the factory and says that the police arrested him. Rodrigo suspects that with all of the charges against him, Amador will spend years in prison. He says they’ll have to be strong to get through everything.

- Nazario tells Lucia that Marcelo is okay and that he first went to clean up then was going down to the police station to give testimony. Magdalena is sure that Marcelo will come see Lucia afterwards. Lucia doesn’t think so. She says Marcelo made a decision and won’t change his mind. Mario is shocked to hear about what happened to Marcelo. He tells them that the funeral home will bring Nora soon. Magdalena goes to inform Rebeca. Lucia wants Nazario to tell Marcelo something but changes her mind.

- Marcelo debates calling Lucia but instead calls Milagros. She’s happy that he’s okay. Milagros tells Rafaela she wants to continue her conversation with Marcelo in person. She didn’t think it was appropriate to ask Marcelo how Nora died.

- Nora’s casket arrives at Casa Gaxiola. Lucia cries over it.

- Daniela arrives to see Alfredo. He’s already dressed in black. He thanks her for coming and tells her to sit down. He confesses that many years before when Daniela’s mother was still alive he had a relationship with another woman and that a daughter was the produce of that relationship. He confirms that Daniela has a half sister and Daniela asks if she knows her and Alfredo says yes that the mother is Rebeca Murillo. Daniela freaks out that Nora is her half sister. Alfredo stops her rant saying that Nora committed suicide the day before. Even though they didn’t have a relationship with Nora, he wants to say his goodbyes. Daniela doesn’t think she can. He still wants her to accompany him.

- Magdalena is praying the rosary as Rebeca comes downstairs. She wants to see Nora so Lucia opens the casket. Rebeca kisses Nora’s forehand and says they’ll be together again one day and swears things will be different. She heads back upstairs saying she’s not going to the burial. She wouldn’t be able to handle it. Magdalena gives Lucia the picture of Alonso to place inside Nora’s casket.

- Brigida tells Rodrigo she’s going to see Amador even though he doesn’t deserve it. She will still support him. Rodrigo heads out to the cemetery for Nora’s burial.

- Padre Samuel recites Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. Alfredo and Daniela arrive at the burial, Rodrigo and Daniela make brief eye contact. Gloria is there too. Marcelo stands away from the crowd and Lucia briefly turns to see him with tears rolling down her face.

- Meanwhile Rebeca wanders into Nora’s bedroom looking at the pictures of Nora and Alonso then laying on Nora’s bed, smelling Nora’s clothes and remembering happier times with Nora as she sobs. She heads back to her bedroom and pulls plot gun out of the drawer, putting her finger on the trigger.
 

"ECDLP" Episode 121
TF: Good Job on the recap of today's episode. Now my personal thoughts:
1.) WTH is Brigida doing still supporting Psycho Amador ? She is dumb.

2.) Assuming Daniela decided not to have the abortion ? Never liked this nutty girl.

3.) Mario, Mags, Lucia & Co., inside the Gaxiola Mansion as the casket of Nora was brought inside. Nice that Lucia put Alonso's picture inside Nora's casket.

4.) Rodrigo & Daniela being a potential couple ? Hmmm.

5.) Marcelo needs to get away from his nagging mother ASAP.

6.) The Gaxiola Mansion needs to get torn down & turned into a parking lot.

7.) Chickens coming home to roost for the Bec-ista. You will reap what you sow.

8.) Mario & Mags: awesome couple.

9.) Gloria obviously devastated by Nora's suicide.

10.) Wasn't shocked they buried Nora next to Alonso & Adriana at the cemetery.

11.) The Bec-ista cries in grief as we see flashbacks of Nora. I would like to feel sorry for her, but I cannot!

12.) As soon as the music got serious, I was like "Uh-oh" once the Bec-ista (my nickname for Rebeca Murillo) picked up the gun....

ECDLP #121

PART THREE

- Everyone is leaving the cemetery after the burial concludes. Leti walks up to Gloria giving her a sort of hug in solidarity. Gloria is surprised but smiles back at Leti then continues walking. Rodrigo is surprised to see Daniela there. Alfredo suggests they go have coffee and talk. Rodrigo agrees. Alfredo asks Samuel about Rebeca and he replies that Rebeca wasn’t in any condition to attend the burial. Nazario and Normita leave together as Lucia stops looking around for Marcelo. She realizes he’s gone.

- Amador asks Brigida to find him a good lawyer. Brigida replies the best lawyer in the world wouldn’t be able to help him, what he did was very bad. She’s glad Rodrigo was able to stop him. Amador would’ve never allowed Rodrigo to see him in a bad light. He repeats that he needs a good lawyer and says if the house has to be sold to get the money then so be it. Brigida reluctantly agrees. Amador asks where Rodrigo is and Brigida tells him that Nora died so Rodrigo attended her burial. She doesn’t know the details of Nora’s death and didn’t want to go and see Rebeca and give condolences.

- Lucia, Magdalena and Mario arrive at Casa Gaxiola. Lucia tells Magdalena to go home and rest. Magdalena says that if she and Rebeca need anything to call her. Lucia assures her that with Tere there, they’ll be fine. Lucia thanks Mario for everything. Magdalena tells Mario she doesn’t know what’ll happen to Rebeca now that Nora is gone. Nora was the most important and valuable thing to Rebeca. And she’s worried about Lucia as well now that Lucia no longer has Marcelo’s support. She doesn’t think time will heal these wounds.

- Lucia knocks on Rebeca’s bedroom door and goes inside to find Rebeca sitting in a chair her back facing the door. She asks Rebeca if she needs anything. Rebeca turns in the chair to face Lucia and Lucia sees plot gun in Rebeca’s hand and gasps. Lucia asks what Rebeca is doing with it, she thought Rebeca had gotten rid of it. Rebeca says that Nora was right: Alonso always loved Lucia more than he loved Nora. Rebeca stands up and says Lucia shined too much and Nora was in her shadow. Nora could never measure up to Lucia and couldn’t take it. Lucia says that’s not true, she was never better than her sister. Rebeca points out that they weren’t sisters but it doesn’t matter to Lucia, she will always remember Nora as her sister. Rebeca doesn’t want to keep remembering what Nora couldn’t be because of Lucia. Why is Lucia still here, why does Rebeca still have to see her when she can’t see Nora. Rebeca aims the gun at Lucia and says “Goodbye, Lucia”. Lucia closes her eyes and braces for the shot. Instead, Rebeca lifts the gun and aims it into her own open mouth. Lucia is stunned. The camera pans outside the mansion as a gunshot is heard and Lucia screams “No!”
 

"ECDLP" Episode 121:

TF: Not shocked the Bec-ista killed herself with the same gun that Federico used to kill himself. How ironic!

On the Gaxiola Mansion: I would have that mansion torn down & turned into a parking lot ASAP because folks have died in the house: Adriana, Alonso, Nora, Rebeca.
